We had an outstanding half day speedboat tour of the Mekong Delta. The boat ride was enjoyable and much better than a bus trip. Our guide My and her assistant spoke excellent English and the itinerary led us to less crowded, more authentic delta locations. The tour was highly informative and provided fascinating insights into the lives of the local people along the river, on farms, at local markets and during a serene ride on a traditional wooden boat. Mekong Delta Excursion by luxury speed boat departs from Saigon River – Ho Chi Minh City to enjoy a scenic speed boat trip through the Mekong Delta. You will explore areas of the Mekong Delta that few other travelers get to experience.

On this Mekong Delta Excursion , You’ll experience the old-world river life of the Mekong, and enjoy a lesser-seen glimpse into rural Vietnam as it trundles along a slow tempo, as it has done for centuries. Key cultural visits include a Cao Dai Temple, a riverside market, and a pagoda, as well as evocative farmlands and local pottery workshops.

Enjoy countless photo opportunities of the idyllic scenery and local people as you cruise past buffaloes ploughing fields, fruit orchards and rice paddies. Visit a family homestead, where you’ll be invited to enjoy fresh coconuts and fiery Mekong whisky.

Commence your Mekong Delta excursion at 7:30 am with y our guide meeting you in the lobby of your hotel and drive to your boat at Ho Chi Minh City’s central pier, Bach Dang .

7:45am: The boat departs and you slip away from downtown Saigon via narrow canals, and enter the verdant green tributaries of the Mekong Delta. A light breakfast is served on board.

Enjoy a brief stop at the ornate, over-water Tuong Van Pagoda, while your guide explains the importance Buddhism to many people of the Delta.

Mekong Delta Excursion to v isit a bustling, colorful riverside market full of local curiosities, tropical fruits and all manner of fish and shellfish. Great photo opportunities!

Reach the idyllic watery expanses of the Delta itself, known as the Delta of Nine Dragons for the 9 tributaries that splinter from the main Mekong River.

Turn off the Mekong Delta into small, winding canals of the Thu Thua area, shaded by a canopy of foliage as you drift along lazily.

Depending on the route, you will visit a local pottery workshop, a traditional riverside house with huge Burmese pythons as pets, a quaint Mekong village and surrounding rice paddies, and then a traditional farmhouse where you’ll sample coconuts and Mekong whisky.  

Or you will visit a local merchant and try a range of Mekong produce, and whisky and wine. You’ll walk along the banks of the river to a traditional rural Vietnamese house where 3 generations live, before exploring a charming village where you can try fresh coconuts from the tree. This variation provides fascinating insight into life in the Mekong Delta region.

Please note: Our tours are flexible. Your guide may combine parts from both routes.

Enjoy a traditional Mekong Delta lunch at a local pagoda prepared by our private chef. After lunch, you will visit an orphanage run by Buddhist monks.

Return to the speed boat and depart for Ho Chi Minh City.

Cancellation Policy

• If cancellations are made 15 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees
• If cancellations are made 7-15 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
• If cancellations are made within 0-7 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
• In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain trips or activities may get cancelled. In such cases operator will try their best to provide an alternate feasible. However a cash refund will not be applicable for the same.
• Cancellations are strictly subjected to cancellation policies mentioned on the website & are irrespective of the date of booking.

• The applicable refund amount will be processed within 15 business days
• All applicable refunds will be done in traveller's thrillophilia wallet as Thrillcash

Booking Confirmation Policy

• The customer receives a confirmation voucher via email within 24 hours of successful booking
• In case the preferred slots are unavailable, an alternate schedule of the customer’s preference will be arranged and a new confirmation voucher will be sent via email.
• Alternatively, the customer may choose to cancel their booking before confirmation and a full refund will be processed.

FUN and EXCITING way to the MEKONG DELTA

"We took the Authentic Real Mekong Delta to Ben Tre tour from Saigon River Tour in April and it was everything we hoped it would be. I really wanted to see and experience the Mekong Delta during our visit to Vietnam. We could have taken one of the many land-based excursions but then we would have been trapped in a van for several hours each way. Instead, we choose the Saigon River Tour and we are so glad we did. We met the boat at the pier in District 1, which was very close to our hotel. Our guide, Rambo, welcomed us on board and we were off down the Saigon River. Rambo told us much about what we were passing as we made our way downriver. He was very knowledgeable about Saigon, the history and what we were looking at. We were absolutely blown away by the amount of boat traffic on the Saigon River and then on the Mekong when we got there. And it made it so much better to be on the river ourselves and be part of the water highway. The excursion on Unicorn Island gave us a nice introduction into life on the Mekong Delta. The tour included a lunch that was unbelievable! So many good foods and so many choices! Then we settled in for the two hour return on the river. And the entire time we just took in the wild adventure that is life on the rivers of Vietnam."

Thieng Lieng Island: A Shangri-La far from Saigon "Saigon river tour is a good option for travelers who have visit Post office, CIty hall and etc. We choose Tieng Lieng as destination. Which is 1 hour far form HCMC by speedboat. You can see urban, ports, mangrove forest on the way to Tieng Lieng Island. And when you are on land, you can find lots of funs. Drink local teas, watch traditional musical performances, see how salt are harvest, and experience herb feet bath. The most important bonuses are the fresh air and the warm welcoming hosts.
