Just 5 minutes from Lisieux, Cerza Zoo extends across almost 80 hectares of nature. For the well-being of the animals and to recreate original habitats and natural behaviour, the species at the zoo roam across large plains and open spaces.

More than 1,500 wild animals in semi-captivity

Lions, giraffes, rhinos, ring-tailed lemurs, white tigers, polar bears, pink flamingos… This gigantic zoo is home to more than 120 species from all over the world, representing the 5 continents.

Two visitor trails

Visitors can discover the park by two walking trails. The red trail, lasting 1 hour, invites you to discover African species. Lions, giraffes, white rhinoceros… The animals of the savannah, the great plains and rare birds await. On the yellow trail, which lasts 1 hour 30 minutes, follow in the footsteps of wild animals from every continent. Spectacled bears, wolves, primates, kangaroos… Why choose one trail when you can do them both!

A safari by mini-train

All aboard! Hop on the mini-train and set off on a 25-minute safari around the world. Sit back and relax as you watch the animals and take some snaps. Enjoy panoramic views of the Normandy countryside as you pass the zoo’s exotic animals, crossing the African and American plains. Let yourself be completely immersed. Selfie with the rhinos, anyone?

3D cinema with a conservation message

Follow Noé, a young visitor to Cerza Zoo who likes to tease and pester the animals, as Pépé the pelican takes him on a crazy adventure to raise awareness of the threats facing nature. Noé comes out of this ecological journey as a completely new person.

Feed the animals

Every day at fixed times, the public get the chance to help the zoo keepers to feed the animals. Accompanied by a zoo keeper, get up close and personal with giraffes, lemurs, lorikeets and red kangaroos… A truly unforgettable experience!

Rare encounters

Become a zoo keeper for the day! Cheetahs, giraffes, wolves, red pandas, Indian rhinoceroses, parrots, reptiles… For one hour, alone or in a small group (6 people maximum), experience unique moments up close with the animals as you help the zoo keepers to carry out their daily tasks.

Sleep among the animals

Extend your zoo visit experience with one or more nights in the park. Sleep among the animals in an eco-lodge, zoo’bservatory or safari tent! Unforgettable memories guaranteed!

Cerza Safari Park

We've just returned from a visit to the Cerza Safari Park and found it cheaper to book our accommodation and ferry as a package with the English agent Four Seasons France. We stayed in a Timber Lodge, which was nice and spacious for our family of 6 and unlike one of the reviews we did have a kettle! The accommodation was very clean and comfortable but no outside table and chairs on the veranda, however everyone else seemed to use the ones from inside so we did likewise and what a treat to sit eating our meals watching the wallabies and deer right below us and the pelicans on the small lake. Amazingly relaxing. The safari park was much larger that we expected and quite busy but we'd received good advice from Four Seasons France to visit at the start and end of the day and avoid the 'day trippers'. Found lots of things to do in the area thanks to the helpful English speaking staff at reception. Best was probably a trip to Deauville which is a lovely seaside town about 30 mins drive away. We stayed 4 nights and think this would be the minimum you should consider if travelling from the UK.

A fantastic day visiting and absolutely brilliant. You need comfy shoes as there is a long walk although you can choose a shorter route. Suggest take water with you on the walk. Worth the wait for the little train though. The French certainly know how to make a zoo impressive and the space all the animals had was good. Definitely worth another visit. Visited summer 2012 and it was hot!

We went to the Cerza zoo yesterday, on a whim, and were completely amazed. This is a seriously good zoo. It's more of a huge natural park, with long tranquil walking trails, that just happen to move between very lush, spacious animal enclosures. lions, tigers, monkeys, bears, kangaroos, rhinos, giraffes, and more!!! It's extremely well designed, built and maintained. If you are in the calvados region, take the time to do this!

Parc was great and animals all in good condition. Lions, white tigers and Albert the Indian Rhino all highlights. Book VIP and ' what do animals eat' private tours

This place is in the middle of nowhere but was very close to where we were staying (approximately 2km from nowhere). I wasn't looking forward to visiting as I generally don't like zoos/safari parks but my 12 daughter does. I was wrong, this place is great. We had a really good day out and it was really pleasant. The staff were really nice and there are lots of activities during the day such as the feeding of the lions and the goat enclosure which was really funny when the goats and turkeys start nicking food of the visitors. I was wrong my 12yo daughter was right. Word of warning if you have mobility issues don't go! It's a good walk and quite hilly in parts

Our grandchildren, 5 and 7, loved this park. The train trip provides a pleasant introduction, but you really need to explore the park by foot. Be prepared for some strenous exercise though, with long walks on hilly terrain. Only disappointment was the substandard cafeteria, and its remarkably obnoxious staff. They must be seriously underpaid, despite relatively high prices, both in the cafeteria and particularly to access the park, but why take it out on the visitors? Next time we will bring our own food.
