Step into the enchanting realm of Jodhpur, the former capital of Marwar, where history whispers through the mighty walls of Mehrangarh fort, this one has to be in the list of places near jaipur to visit.

Jodhpur is a gem that can only be truly experienced personally and no words can describe the exquisiteness of this cobalt beauty. The highlight of jodhpur is the Mehrangarh Fort which is perched on top of a rocky hill casting a mysterious silhouette as the day’s first sun rays illuminate it.

It’s not just the fort that this city is popular for or that its one of the popular tourist places near jaipur, it’s mostly in the smaller details like the labyrinthine streets painted in shades of azure earning the moniker of “The Blue City” and an insect free environment, the bustling Sardar Market with scents of spices and freshly brewed chai, colorful turbans adding a layer of mosaic to the setting and the mighty clock tower that stands silently among it all, with its complexly woven carvings over the haggling shoppers.

As you venture deeper, you will encounter the Umaid Bhawan Palace which is marvel of Rajput and Art Deco architecture, built to symbolize employment during the hard times of the famine, the royal Jodhpur heritage speaks volumes but it is also mirrored perfectly in the glowing sandstones here.

we were 2 families of total 7 persons, with one boy 8 year old. the stay was booked under the non-refundable last minute rates. per room, it was an amazing bargain. we took 3 rooms. very centralized hotel. the largest mega mall of jaipur, ttriton mall, is just 5 minutes away. bus station, railway station also just 5 minutes. the main industrial areas also pretty near. own large shopping arcade, with a cafe coffee day outlet. the food is exceptionally good. the service was good. we had dinner at the chinese restaurant. a tad expensive, but good food. the service of wine was the best i've seen in hotels across the world. i've never seen chilled wine glasses and the type of service they gave, even at some of the far better and costly properties. kudos!! the service is fast and courteous! all pros no cons!! not possible!! all in all a nice experience. entry level / technically a 5star hotel, due to the amenities.

Simply fantastic heritage boutique hotel in Jaipur with awesome interior decoration, beautiful rooms and lovely staff. Stayed in the Jaiselmer room with fantastic stonework around the room and a lovely tiled bathroom. Plenty of hot water, room service breakfast and great value laundry service made this a very comfortable stay. Short tuk tuk ride to old town. Ate in sister hotel’s rooftop restaurant, the Peacock, twice as both the ambiance and food were great (no alcohol though), just a 5-10 minute walk away. Also ate in the Foresta recommended by the hotel which is a 15 minute walk or 5 minute tuk tuk away. Cannot recommend this hotel enough - will definitely stay here again if I come back to Jaipur.

i stayed 3 nights whilst doing the golden triangle, and this hotel offered a calm quiet oasis from the hustle and bustle of jaipur. having stayed in noisy hotels in delhi and agra it was such a relief of being able to come back to have a nice comfortable quiet stay after a long days sight seeing. the hotel is located in a quiet back street, although for some tuk tuk drivers it was hard to find. its only 5 mins from the train station and if required the hotel will arrange a pick up for you. on arriving the check-in was fast and a nice cold drink served to welcome you by the excellent hotel manager sher singh who could not do enough to make your stay comfortable. also on check-in i was offered a choice of room either at the front or back of the hotel which was a nice a rare gesture. the rooms at the back of the hotel only have a small window so if you want more natural light choose the front. i booked a super deluxe room which was spacious, clean and had a decent size bathroom with walk in shower and hot water. the room had the normal amenities including fridge, flat screen tv and coffee making facilities but no in room safe. the wifi within the hotel was excellent both within your room and restaurants. i stayed on the second floor which as previously mentioned was really quiet allowing a good sleep. i had read reviewers who had mentioned that its possibly best to avoid the third floor as you will get some noise from the roof top restaurant. the hotel inside is impeccably maintained with nice ornate, decorative ceilings with traditional indian paintings. breakfast is served on the ground floor and offers a reasonable mix with boiled eggs, cereal, fruit etc and indian options. the roof top restaurant has a lovely ambience where you can savour the cool evening breeze and the very helpful restaurant manager on hand to assist wherever he could. the menu offered an extensive range although only a few western dishes. i'd highly recommend this hotel.

The Pearl Palace Hotel worked out great for us. We had booked well in advance as we were going to be in Jaipur over New Year’s eve and got a great price (cad$29/night), we were in a small room on the ground floor (#101) and we loved it. It is decorated as never I have seen before....the entire walls and ceilings have colorful, dry wall decorations and small pieces of mirror, superb. The room was extremely cozy and there was no noise from the outside. The bathroom is well appointed with a big shower with a wide glass wall to separate it from the rest of the room. There is also a tiny window with a very powerful fan. The street where the hotel is located is kind of a back alley, away from the main busy road and it is very quiet. The staff is very corteous and welcoming. To top it all off, they have a great rooftop restaurant, the Peacock, which serves varied and amazing food all day long. During our 4 nights stay, we had most of our meals here and we were never disappointed. Thums up

We were traveling students with only one day to see the sights of Jaipur. Vesta staff helped us secure a driver for a very good price that took us around the city. The hotel also stored our bags while we were gone after checkout. The even offered us facilities upon our return to change and clean up before helping us get to the train station. The breakfast buffet was good and dinner was excellent as well.

It was a great stay at kalyan. There were clean bedsheets, linens, towels provided. The food was really great and the rooftop was beautifully decorated which also provides a great view of the city. The area in which hotel was located was great, silent being in the center of the city and it is also recommended as best area by lonely planet my book. The staff was always attentive and served us always with a smile. It was a pleasure staying at hotel kalyan. This hotel offers 5 star services at the cost of two star.Room was also big enough and was immaculately clean. All the floor gallaries were decorated in a traditional design which was superb. For going to sightseeing there were always took took available outside the hotel. To make it more friendly, the owners of the hotel also had a chat with us at the beautiful rooftop garden. Not only this,to our surprise, they had also built a tower to which one can go up with stairs and enjoy the beautiful view of the city which was 360 degree.I think this hotel's view should be added to jaipur attraction as it was the center and really at a great height. We had been traveling in India for weeks and throughout our time in India so far, this had been the best hotel which was never expected at such a lower budget. We had a great time here and would highly recommend this hotel to all my frens coming to jaipur and also all the fellow travelers to stay at kalyan which offers free WiFi,attached clean bathrooms, beautiful rooftop and indoor restaurant and many other amenities at such a lower costs which truely exceeded all our desires.Oh.. i forgot to talk about the location, its only 1 km from the railway station and bus stand and hotel also offered free pick up services from railway station and bus stand which was truely efficient. We would definitely come here next time. Cheers to all staff, owners, cooks at hotel kalyan for making our stay truely memorable, wonderful, pure and enjoyable. Definitely Highly recommended to all the people.

Stayed here for a few hours between reaching Jaipur Jn. railway station early in the morning and en route to the Airport. The property is very close to the Railway station, and I could reach within about ten minutes by walk after my train's arrival. If you have luggage and / or can't walk, local autos or cycle-rickshaws will charge Rs. 30/- onwards, though it is barely a few hundred metres distance. The hotel is a bit run down and the area is quite crowded / noisy, but the room was quite clean. There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke due to the last guest. This too can't be helped, I suppose, given that it's a small property with few rooms. Breakfast options were very basic and limited, but there may be other small restaurants in the vicinity, which I had no time to check. The hot water tap didn't seem to be working, though the front desk assured me it was. I could manage as the weather wasn't too bad in any case. All in all, this hotel may be a good option for a short stay on a tight budget and if you want to be very close to the railway station. Otherwise, you would be better off with a hotel inside the city, albeit at a higher cost.

Jaipur gave to me probably the best Indian travel experience by far , with a lot of architecture and history , a lot of street food, kebabs, shawarmas , and more affordable accommodations as compared to Kolkatta, Agra and Delhi . The city has numerous affordable boutique hotels , and Chitra Katha is one of its best. The building is fairly new and well maintained , tucked in a quiet street , surrounded by quaint and charmingly designed indian houses. There are also good restaurants nearly, such as the vegetarian resto on top of sunders place, and that Nibs Chocolate drink cafe. Chitra Ktha itself has a good roof top restaurant. It is easy to find, just tell the taxi you head to Hathroi Fort, Hotel Chitra Katha is just opposite of hotel Pearl Palace ( the landmark ). Highly Recommend this Boutique hotel for the quality of service and accommodating staff. Deserving of my High Ratings given. Stayed at a dorm type bed in a penthouse room , with a great view of the Hathroi fort and the city. travelled to Jaipur Solo last March 2014.

The hotel is very near to the railwaystation. The room was budget room, but good option. The bed was big and clean (Without the blanket. It was not clean and bed smell.)The temperature of the room was good and worked the cooler, that was the most important for us, next to the clean bed. The bathroom was not too old, but very need the new wallpaint (also in the room). The shower is not too good, must change it, because the water didn't come good. The hotel, the room, the bed were ok and good (value for money), but we could not sleep good. Every night was noisy. We thought have very near one cinema ... but I was very upset, and angry, and I went to the reception the last night am. 03:00 o'clock. I couldn't belive why we heard the noise every night (22:00-08:00)... The night reception staff looked the movie in the TV, terrible loud (more than in the movie). I didn't understand why? I could hear the all film correctly on the first flour and heard it the all hotel... but maybe he was deaf, and didn't hear that was terrible noisy! That was very disappointment in the hotel.

This is a nasty little hotel tucked away in a poor location of Jaipur. The room was supposed to be deluxe but it had two thin single mattresses pushed together on a wooden base. There were two small hard cushions - not proper pillows - with pillow cases on the bed. On top was a single size blanket, but no top sheet. During a night a fight broke out between families in the adjoining rooms, which the hotel staff were very slow to deal with. Not a pleasant experience, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone

pros- near railway station staff and manager - mr. Sampat very co-operative. food also good and not that expensive. tea is good book a taxi for Jaipur(forts and all) touring from hotel itself(I did not do and rely on local transport which was burden and in the end was expensive relatively). for local market you can do with auto and battery rickshaw. cons- as such no but my bathroom was not that clean. but all in all value for money hotel.

we only stayed one night due to a lack of availability somewhere else, but wish we had stayed here the whole time. we went slightly over our daily accommodation budget to have the deluxe room, however it was completely worth it. the previous hotel was very cold and not as clean as this hotel. the other hotel was nearby so we were very used to the location, we were not very central to the sights, but meant this area was nice an quiet. that said, there were always auto-rickshaws waiting to take us wherever we wanted. i would definitely stay here again.
