List of Star Trek Blueprints

  • View history

Star Trek blueprints were started by Franz Joseph in 1973 when he created and published his blueprints Booklet of General Plans - U.S.S. Constitution Class for the Starship Enterprise from Star Trek . Over the past 30 years a number of blueprints have been created by a number of individuals, both fans and professional artists, to cover the ever increasing variety of ships, vehicles, and equipment which are considered both canon and non-canon .

Two of the blueprint creators have gone on to work on the set of Star Trek :

Rick Sternbach was hired as an official Illustrator for Star Trek: The Motion Picture and subsequently was hired to work on Star Trek: The Next Generation , Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager and worked on the Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual and the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual publications from Pocket Books .

Geoffrey Mandel was hired as scenic artist on Star Trek: Voyager , Star Trek: Enterprise and Star Trek: Insurrection and Star Trek: Star Charts published by Pocket Books.

Both of these blueprint creators have moved on from a humble creator of blueprints to helping shape the look of the Star Trek appearance.

Additionally, Shane Johnson went on to publish the official publication Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise and The Worlds of the Federation both produced by Pocket Books after creating his fan produced blueprints.

Starship Deck Plans Links Compendium

One of the big differences between running a fantasy campaign and a science-fiction campaign is that when playing SF, I found myself constantly looking for starship deck plans.

With a fantasy campaign, many of the maps revolved around buildings, dungeons or overland adventures, and those sorts of maps were easy to knock out over lunch. Failing that, I had plenty of maps from 20+ years of Dungeons & Dragons that I could fall back on.

With my Star Wars campaign though, the adventures are split between world-based exploration and starship- or space station-based combat. Starship-based adventures represent perhaps 1/8 to 1/4 of the encounters I run, but when I do run them I often find myself scrambling for deck plans.

The big reason there is that it takes more effort to come up with a rational-seeming starship. A dungeon can be as simple as a series of rooms, but with starships, players always want to know where to find the bridge, engineering, Jeffries tubes, etc.

That’s where ready-made deck plans help. The Star Wars rule books (regardless of edition) help with this, as they often feature deck plans for smaller ships, but the place where I consistently come up short is with frigate-class and larger vessels. I don’t expect anyone to map out the Death Star (though I’m sure somewhere, somehow, someone is working on it) but detailed plans of light and heavy cruisers would be helpful.

I’m still searching for those, but over the last few years, I have accumulated a goodly number of starship deck plan links.  If you know of a deck plans site that isn’t listed here, please add it in the comments or email me at [email protected] and I’ll add it to this list.

Inside the Nebula Class Starship

Go inside the Nebula class starship, one of Starfleet's ultimate multi-mission vessels

Inside the Nebula Class Starship

StarTrek.com

The Nebula class starship was one of the ultimate multi-mission vessels in Starfleet. Covert, scientific, tactical, the Nebula class could adapt to almost any task given to it.

Inside the Nebula Class Starship

Nebula Notables

At a length of 442 meters and a maximum speed of warp 9.5, Nebula class starships met the standards for Federation ships of the time. It featured the average components of Starfleet ships, a saucer section, a secondary hull and two nacelles. However, the Nebula also featured a distinctive pod on the aft dorsal section. Only two versions of this pod have been seen. The first consisted of a large disc with two pylons attaching to the top of the secondary hull. It was similar to the 20th century AWACs aircraft in shape and look of the disc. The other pod was more triangular in design. This iteration seemed to be the most-common version of the class in the mid to late 24th century.

Inside the Nebula Class Starship

Another feature of Nebula class ships in the 2360’s, was the lack of prominent impulse engines, as well as a more concave secondary hull and larger deflector dish than the Galaxy class. The impulse engines on the back of the saucer output very low impulse emissions and ion trails. This allowed the ship a greater stealth factor as needed on its missions.

Phoenix Rising

Inside the Nebula Class Starship

One of the early noted Nebula class starships was the U.S.S. Phoenix NCC-65420 , named for Zefram Cochrane’s historical warp ship. In 2367, Captain Benjamin Maxwell took his ship on a quest that could have resulted in another war between the Federation and the Cardassian Union. A veteran of the first Cardassian War, Maxwell lived through the trauma and turmoil of the conflict, including the loss of his family. He served with Enterprise transporter chief Miles O’Brien, with O’Brien taking over as Maxwell’s tactical officer on the U.S.S. Rutledge . This bond would prove invaluable in ceasing the possible hostilities to come.

Inside the Nebula Class Starship

Maxwell, embittered by the war, was convinced that the Cardassians were arming for a new offensive. He believed transports, operating with the ability to jam scanners, were stocking military supply ports disguised as science stations in key strategic sectors. Without authorization, he took the Phoenix in attempt to deal a preemptive strike to these Cardassian installations. The Phoenix was as fast and as well-armed as a Galaxy class ship, and being a state-of-the-art vessel, it inflicted serious damage. Maxwell destroyed several vessels on his rampage before the Enterprise was able to catch up.

Maxwell met with Captain Picard to explain himself. He did not trust the bureaucracy to take timely action against this which, in his view, was a very clear threat. Picard believed that it was revenge for his family. Maxwell denied the allegation and left, but not before reuniting with O’Brien.

Inside the Nebula Class Starship

Picard allowed Maxwell to retain command, but this turned out to be a mistake. The Phoenix broke formation and went after another supply ship. Maxwell wanted Picard to forcibly board the ship or else he would destroy it. It was an ultimatum, but fortunately Chief O’Brien had a trick up his sleeve. The Phoenix had a small 1/50th of a second gap in the shields due to its high energy sensor sweeps. O’Brien was able to beam over and confront Maxwell in his ready room. It was a tense situation, but O’Brien convinced Maxwell to stand down and surrender to the Enterprise . The Phoenix and Enterprise returned to Federation space together, having nearly started and ended a war.

Data’s Command

Inside the Nebula Class Starship

The U.S.S. Sutherland was another legendary Nebula class vessel. It would feature the newly redesigned “triangular” sensor pod on the aft dorsal section. Lt. Commander Data would face new challenges as master of the vessel for a brief period. In 2368, the Klingon Civil War was threatening to draw in its surrounding neighbors. The Federation wanted to prevent interference and assistance from the Romulan Star Empire. However, one major issue was how to counter the Romulan cloaking device. Starfleet had no way to detect the cloaked ships until Lt. Commander Geordi La Forge conceived the tachyon detection grid. A fleet of starships would form a web of tachyon particles and any cloaked Romulan ships passing through the network would be spotted.

Inside the Nebula Class Starship

This flotilla needed personnel. Some Enterprise bridge officers were given temporary command of ships needing captains, one of them being the Sutherland . Data was transferred to it, still in drydock. He faced some resistance from the crew, particularly Lt. Commander Hobson. He objected to having an android commanding officer, nearly to the point of insubordination. Nevertheless, Data persisted and, having no emotions, worked through the issues.

Inside the Nebula Class Starship

The blockade was set, but the Romulans figured out the detection plan. In an attempt to run their ships through, they tried to disable it at the Sutherland because of its android captain. This turned out to be the worst decision as Data saw through their scheme and caught the Romulans red-handed. Data proved himself to be a competent and capable captain.

A Sky Full of Nebulae

Inside the Nebula Class Starship

The Nebula class would continue to be a Starfleet workhorse for years to come. It participated in the brief Federation-Klingon conflict in 2372-2373, and defended Earth in the second Borg invasion, and the Dominion War. It would even rescue survivors from the crashed saucer of the Enterprise D , have an all-Vulcan crew, as well as help reignite a dead star. The Nebula class may not be a hero’s chariot, but it certainly is legendary in its own right -- and the versatility and durability of this class are the epitome of what Starfleet represents.

‘Star Trek’: Long-Lost Original USS Enterprise Model Finally Makes the Voyage Home

The model was used for the pilot and credits of the original 'Star Trek' series.

The Big Picture

  • The original USS Enterprise model has been found in a storage locker after going missing for decades.
  • The model was used for the original unaired pilot and opening credits of Star Trek: The Original Series .
  • Rod Roddenberry plans to restore and display the iconic starship model in a museum for public viewing.

The original model of the USS Enterprise from Star Trek: The Original Series has been located, after spending several decades missing — not in some distant region of space, but in a storage locker. The model has been returned to Eugene "Rod" Roddenberry , the son of original Trek creator Gene Roddenberry . ABC News reports that the three-foot-long model was given to Gene Roddenberry after the original Trek series ended in 1969, and graced his desk for several years before he loaned it to the makers of 1979's Star Trek: The Motion Picture . The model disappeared shortly afterward and remained missing until it turned up on eBay last year. It had been discovered in a storage locker by parties unknown, who contacted action site Heritage Auctions. Although the model would fetch an enormous price at auction as a one-of-a-kind pop-cultural artifact, an arrangement was made between the finders and Roddenberry, whose father died at 70 in 1991.

The model in question was the first finished model of the iconic starship; it was used for the series' original unaired pilot episode, "The Cage," which was later incorporated into a two-part episode , "The Menagerie," before it was released in full in the 1980s. It was also used for the shots of the Enterprise seen in the show's opening credits. A larger model was later created for the rest of the series; that model is currently on display at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum . Roddenberry intends for the original model to find a permanent home, as well:

"This is not going home to adorn my shelves. This is going to get restored and we’re working on ways to get it out so the public can see it and my hope is that it will land in a museum somewhere."

What Is the USS Enterprise?

The flagship of the United Federation of Planets' Starfleet, the USS Enterprise is a Constitution-class starship from the 23rd century. It was originally captained by Robert April, who appeared on Star Trek: The Animated Series before appearing in live-action for the first time in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds . April later passed on command to Christopher Pike , whose adventures are currently being chronicled in the prequel series Strange New Worlds . After Pike was promoted to fleet command, James Kirk was given command of the ship, taking it on a five-year mission that kicked off one of science fiction's most enduring franchises.

In Star Trek III: The Search for Spock , then-Admiral Kirk stole the Enterprise to journey to the unstable Genesis Planet and reunite his friend Spock's mind with his body; during that adventure, Kirk had the ship self-destruct to prevent it from being seized by the Klingons. It was later replaced by a near-identical ship, the Enterprise-A ; many subsequent Federation ships have borne the name, up to the rechristened Enterprise-J in the series finale of Star Trek: Picard .

The son of Roddenberry and actor Majel Barrett , Rod Roddenberry is the chief executive officer of Roddenberry Entertainment. He currently executive produces the latest generation of Star Trek series, including Discovery , Strange New Worlds , Picard , Lower Decks , and Prodigy .

The original model of the Enterprise is now back in the Roddenberry family. Viewers can see it in action in Star Trek: The Original Series , which can be streamed on Paramount+.

The Long-Lost Original Star Trek Enterprise Model Is Heading Home

James Whitbrook Avatar

After, bizarrely, it randomly turned up on eBay last fall—the first time it had been seen publicly since it had gone missing —the original model of the Enterprise made for the Star Trek pilot “The Cage” and shooting its opening titles sequences is now back in the hands of the Roddenberry estate. After the eBay seller quickly learned just what they had their hands on, the model was handed over to Heritage Auctions for authentication, and when it was confirmed to be the long-lost Trek icon, held in storage until it could be handed over to Rod Roddenberry this past weekend. “After five decades, I’m thrilled that someone happened upon this historic model of the USS Enterprise. I remember how it used to adorn my dad’s desk,” Roddenberry said in a statement provided over email. “I am tremendously grateful to Heritage Auctions for facilitating the return of this iconic piece of Star Trek history to my family.”

The original model served as the prototype for what would become the primary original 11-foot shooting model of the Enterprise, which has had a similarly long and winding history on display at the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum—it was damaged, then tweaked in an a restoration that was ultimately undone to restore it to its original glory just in time for Trek’s 50th anniversary back in 2014. Like its successor, the newly recovered model will find a life outside of a private collection: Roddenberry Entertainment intends to put it on public display.

“I can’t wait to figure out how we are going to share it with my extended family, Star Trek fans around the world,” Roddenberry’s statement concluded. “We look forward to making that announcement.”

'Star Trek: Discovery' season 5 episode 3 'Jinaal' is a slow but steady affair

Humans have evidently evolved beyond the need for stairs in the 32nd century as teleportation has replaced the simple act of actually walking to places

Have you ever seen a single, more

Warning: Spoilers ahead for "Star Trek: Discovery" season 5, episode 3

The latest installment of "Star Trek: Discovery" season 5 on Paramount Plus adds a little water – and possibly some fertilizer – to the various different story seeds sewn last week.

Entitled "Jinaal," the primary plot revolves around a revisit to the planet Trill and as you may recall, the last time we spent any length of time here was the episode " Forget Me Not " (S03, E04), which was not terrible. In fact, it was undeniable highlight of the third season, which itself had some of the best we've seen from "Discovery." Incidentally, that was first look at the Trill homeworld since " Star Trek: Deep Space Nine " episode "Equilibrium" (bizarrely, also S03, E04). (If you need a recap on how to watch Star Trek: Discovery, check out our Star Trek streaming guide for Paramount Plus .)

Curiously, in that episode "Forget Me Not," Dr. Hugh Culber (Wilson Cruz) was given a rare and welcome chance to shine and he does so once again in this episode as well. To briefly recap, Adira (Blu del Barrio) and her lover, a Trill named Gray (Ian Alexander), were aboard a generation ship way back when. They were both orphans, very much in love, and Gray had just received his symbiote when the ship was struck by an asteroid and everyone was ordered to evacuate. Unfortunately, Gray was fatally injured and the only way to save the symbiote was for Adira to join with it. And that's how it was for all of season three right up until the fourth season episode " Choose To Live " (S04, E03).

Then, after all of that, Gray Tal has his consciousness transferred out of Adira and into an artificial synth golem before heading back to Trill to complete all that monk-style studying. And now you're all caught up.

All this has happened before and all of it will happen again. And by the way, Captain Burnham is a Cylon…

While a trip back to Trill is nice, you can't help but start to wonder if this fifth and final season will end up a 10-episode long epilogue as it ties up all its loose ends, almost like season five of " Babylon 5 ."  Commander Jett Reno (Tig Notaro) pops up in this episode at last, which more or less just leaves Commander Nhan (Rachael Ancheril), whom we last saw in the episode " Rubicon " S04, E09, to make an appearance. Although Ancheril's IMDb page does currently say, "Coming up in 2024, Rachael will be seen again in 'Chucky' season three [and] 'Star Trek Discovery' for its final season," so who knows.

The big highlight this week was, as we alluded to above, Cruz's chance to stretch his acting chops just a little bit and he does not disappoint. The two biggest grumbles however, are the dialogue written by a writer who just saw "Lethal Weapon II" for the very first time and that the notion of teleporting around the place instead of just walking, has been taken to ludicrous extremes.

"Star Trek: Discovery" seems to be at peace with lifting from other IPs, sci-fi or otherwise. We've seen a nice " Close Encounters of the Third Kind " reference with mashed potato and we've even seen a fun nod to "Scooby-Doo," but these were all subtle. Then there was the extremely unsubtle " Die Hard " thing and then in " Scavengers " (S03, E06) the writers went  way  beyond homage and practically lifted a set piece directly from the 1987 movie "The Running Man." The premise was the same, the effect was the same and even the setting was practically identical.

This week's insight into what classic movie the Gen-Z writers of "Discovery" have recently discovered comes from a legendary scene with equally legendary dialogue between Sgt. Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) and Sgt. Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover) during a rescue attempt after the latter learns that the toilet he's been sitting on has been rigged with a bomb in the first "Lethal Weapon" sequel. Lest we forget, this underrated action extravaganza also gave us Leo Getz and immortalized phrases like "diplomatik immunitee." and "but, but...you're blick."

Still, at least it was just a line or two of dialogue this time and not an entire set piece. My other main grumble with this episode as we mentioned above is the carefree abandon with which transporters are used. And I've touched upon this before. Despite beaming becoming a very common part of everyday life of the 32nd century, to the extent that folk use transporters instead of stairs and even to just change outfits, like we saw in the season four premiere episode — but the thing is, transporters kill you .

The creators of " Star Trek " have never officially confirmed that transporters kill you. However, solely based on the science, transporters do kill you. In simple terms, these teleportation devices scan every molecule in your body and briefly store them in the pattern buffer, while at the same time, the original body is to all intents and purposes, disintegrated. The transporter then converts the scanned copy into energy and beams the data stream to the desired location, where the body is rebuilt, from a sub-atomic level, using technology similar to a replicator. It's comparable in principle to a fax, except this fax machine destroys the original, to prevent duplication, although that has been known to happen.

The issue is essentially an existential one. Since our bodies are made up of identifiable matter, why won't transference of consciousness occur? What makes our consciousness so unique? What's the difference between an identical copy and you? If you were to put your copy into a different room that you hadn't been into, would you be able to see it? No. It's a perfect copy, but it's not you. There is a good article on Ars Technica that really goes into detail on this.

Still, all of this banter aside, this episode is not ... terrible. It is very evenly paced and that, despite the not-exactly edge-of-seat storyline, makes it bearable. Every sub-story seems to be given equal time and brief-but-enjoyable interplay between Lt. Tilly (Mary Wiseman) and Captain Rayner (Callum Keith Rennie) is fun. Plus, of course, we get to see the Trill homeworld again, which is nice.

In other "Star Trek" news, " Strange New Worlds " has been renewed for a fourth season, while " Lower Decks " will end with its previously announced upcoming fifth season, expected to air sometime this year. Creator Mike McMahan and executive producer Alex Kurtzman posted a statement on the Star Trek website: “While five seasons of any series these days seems like a miracle, it’s no exaggeration to say that every second we've spent making this show has been a dream come true. Our incredible cast, crew and artists have given you everything they have because they love the characters they play, they love the world we've built, and more than anything we all love, love, love Star Trek."

Where once there were four shows airing simultaneously, now there is only one left,

Meanwhile, "Strange New Worlds" is currently in production on its third season, which is set to debut in 2025. It seems that all of this combined with the fact that "Section 31" ended up as a movie , casts doubt over the future of the Starfleet Academy spin-off and hopefully signals the end of the idiotic idea of "Star Trek: Legacy." Perhaps Paramount should look to cancel other ludicrous endeavors like the proposed Picard movie instead of cancelling decent shows in their efforts to tighten purse strings.

The fifth and final season of "Star Trek: Discovery" and every episode of every "Star Trek" show — with the exception of "Star Trek: Prodigy" — currently streams exclusively on Paramount Plus in the US while "Prodigy" has found a new home o n Netflix.

Internationally, the shows are available on  Paramount Plus  in Australia, Latin America, the UK and South Korea, as well as on Pluto TV in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland on the Pluto TV Sci-Fi channel. They also stream on  Paramount Plus  in Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In Canada, they air on Bell Media's CTV Sci-Fi Channel and stream on Crave.

Star Trek Beyond Had A Deeper Backstory For Krall's Army That Fans Never Got To See

"Star Trek Beyond" might be the best "Mass Effect" movie we ever get. The shiny Yorktown station, with city sprawls built along the surface of spinning, gravity-manipulating rings, is a dead ringer for the Citadel. The film's villain — Krall (Idris Elba) — leads an army of robots, "The Swarm," much like Saren Arterius employing the cyclopean robot Geth in the first "Mass Effect."

Krall's army destroys the Enterprise in the first act of "Beyond," leaving the crew stranded on planet Altamid. Though Krall made his home on this world, he isn't a native. No, he's really Balthazar Edison, once the (human) captain of the Starfleet ship the U.S.S. Franklin. After the Franklin crashed on Altamid in the 22nd century, rescue from the Federation never came and Edison became disillusioned.

He and his surviving crew found abandoned technology, including his Swarm army (originally invented as "sophisticated mining equipment," not disposable soldiers) and the life-draining devices they've sustained himself with. (Krall's alien appearance was siphoned from his victims with said tech.) When the Swarm destroys the Enterprise, they do so by ramming it repeatedly, not blasting it out of the sky with phasers. Such a physical approach makes sense if the ships were designed to mine a planet's surface.

According to "Star Trek Beyond" co-writer Doug Jung, the team originally had some "loftier ambitions" for the backstory of Krall's army.

The Swarm In Star Trek Beyond

In a 2016 interview with TrekCore , Jung elaborated on these plans while offering insight into how the Swarm functions: "Justin's idea was that [the Swarm soldiers] were sort of like drones in a way and that they don't actually have a lot conscious thought of their own. That sort of answers how Krall would be able to come in and take all this stuff." That's also why, in the film's climax, the Enterprise bridge crew disrupts the Swarm with a signal playing the Beastie Boy's "Sabotage." The Swarm has command signals, not thoughts, and is a hive mind more easily felled than the Borg.

Speaking to CinemaBlend , Jung confirmed the idea of the Swarm was "Star Trek Beyond" director Justin Lin's: "[Lin] liked that idea of like asymmetrical warfare and he kind of made sense. He's like, 'Why would you have that big ship going around? Why not just get a bunch of little ones?'"

As for how Edison took control of the Swarm and perverted them, turning them from harmless miners into vicious attack dogs, Jung explained: "[Edison] was taking his skills as an ex-soldier and applying them in a way that he probably never thought he would have to do."

This backstory is briefly alluded to in "Star Trek Beyond," where Kirk (Chris Pine) and Scotty (Simon Pegg, who also co-wrote the movie) find Edison's final captain's log aboard the Franklin, where he mentions that the "indigenous race" of Altamid "left behind sophisticated mining equipment and a drone workforce." In his TrekCore interview, Jung also refers to Altamid as an abandoned "mining colony." This helps explain why the Swarm's creators abandoned it; it was never their home.

A Star Trek To Remember

This exposition is enough to put the pieces together about where the Swarm came from and how Edison/Krall became their leader, at least for attentive viewers. ( Some fans seem to have missed it , and came out of the movie questioning where Krall got an army from, or not realizing that the Swarm were the mining drones Edison mentioned in his log, not armored aliens). Any of Jung's "loftier ambitions" for the Swarm may have ended up in the 30 minutes that Lin had to cut from "Star Trek: Beyond" ( per Collider ), just like a scene expanding on Sulu's (John Cho) role.

A resounding praise for "Star Trek Beyond" is that it feels like an episode of "Star Trek: The Original Series," just two hours long and with modern effects. The backstory of Altamid is part of that. Critic Darren Mooney, reviewing episode "The Gamester of Triskelion," noted:

"The episode presents a planet that is a graveyard, occupied by ruins of an ancient civilization that collapsed in on itself long before mankind reached the stars. It recalls the eerie sense that space is a graveyard, an element of early stories like 'The Cage' or 'Charlie X' or 'The Man Trap' or 'What Are Little Girls Made Of?' or even 'The Squire of Gothos.'"

An abandoned planet home to a legion of androids, seized upon by a human driven insane on the edges of space? That's classic "Star Trek."

Star wars: the bad batch - all clone force 99's "plans" & strategies.

Clone Force 99 has several plans in their arsenal, but only a handful of them have actually been seen over the course of Star Wars: The Bad Batch.

  • Clone Force 99 had several pre-made plans that varied from battle strategies to emergency escapes, showcasing their adaptability.
  • The Bad Batch has revealed a total of eight numbered plans that exist, though some are more detailed than others.
  • Every one of the squad's plans says something about them and how they work together.

Clone Force 99 seemingly had a contingency plan for every possible situation, and they conveniently numbered them each time one came up in Star Wars: The Bad Batch . Clone Force 99 was one of the most effective and deadly fighting forces in the entire galaxy, and part of the reason they were so good is because of how prepared they were. Over the course of the show, they've had to rely on their training and tactics even more as their allies and resources continue to dwindle. Through major changes like the return of Asajj Ventress and reveals like Project Necromancer , the Batch could always depend on their plans.

Because they've had to use their plans more, The Bad Batch has also revealed a good number of them. User gooserodi compiled a list of every instance a numbered plan was mentioned in The Bad Batch , along with a brief description of what those plans entailed.

Clone Force 99's various plans ranged from fully-fledged battle plans to shorthand orders. While only a handful of them have been revealed in the show, they all had their own purpose, and they all say something about the Bad Batch itself .

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Voice Cast - What The Actors Look Like In Real Life

8 plan double zero, season 2, episode 2, "ruins of war".

Plan Double Zero seems to be one of the most simple in Clone Force 99's repertoire, as it was just an order to go radio silent . Not every one of the Bad Batch's plans were fully fleshed out tactics; several of them were just shorthand meant to serve as the team's internal code. Still, Plan 00 serves as an example of how cohesive the squad was, and how easily they could understand each other after years of collaboration.

Plan 00 might also reveal something about the naming conventions used by the Bad Batch for its plans. Plan 00, like several of the more simple and generally applicable plans in their arsenal, featured a double number. That might be a way to distinguish them from other, more complicated plans so that they could be easily recognized and remembered . It's unlikely there will ever be an official confirmation of how they named their plans, considering how close the show is to ending, but such a naming convention would show the value they placed in the most fundamental aspects of their work.

7 Plans 5, 14, & 86

Season 2, episode 8, "truth & consequences".

The Bad Batch season 2, episode 8 saw Clone Force 99 combine three different plans together for a particularly complex mission. Clone Force 99 was tasked with infiltrating Admiral Rampart's star destroyer and extracting data that proved he destroyed Kamino. That data was heavily guarded, though, so they had to combine Plans 5, 14, and 86 together to escape . As such, it's a bit difficult to determine the exact details of each plan individually.

It seems Plan 5 had something to do with distraction, as Tech turned the ship's engines on, Plan 14 involved slicing enemy systems, as Echo used the ship's cannons, and Plan 86 had something to do with an emergency escape, as the squad used the ship's escape pods to leave the area . This instance of combining plans together highlighted one of the Batch's greatest advantages: their ability to think outside the box and adapt on the fly. They may have had a long list of predetermined plans to follow, but nothing stopped them from tweaking their strategies as needed, which helped them survive encounters they otherwise wouldn't have.

Season 1, Episode 8, "Reunion"

Plan 7 has nothing to do with this situation whatsoever.

There isn't much known about Plan 7, as it was only ever referenced as part of a joke. In The Bad Batch season 1, episode 8, Crosshair had trapped the rest of the squad inside the wreckage of a Republic star destroyer, and he was preparing to eliminate them all by turning the engine on. As they scrambled to develop a strategy to escape, Wrecker suggested using Plan 7, to which Echo responded, " Plan 7 has nothing to do with this situation whatsoever ."

Based on that information, it's hard to determine exactly what Plan 7 was. It clearly wasn't helpful in that particular escape situation, based on Echo's response. It's possible that Plan 7 had something to do with explosives, as Wrecker, with his known love of explosions, suggested it . The squad also settled on a plan to set charges around the engine well just after Wrecker's suggestion, and if Plan 7 involved explosives, it could mean that Wrecker's unrelated plan actually helped them brainstorm an escape.

Season 3, Episode 12, "Juggernaut"

One of the Batch's coolest plans essentially boiled down to letting Crosshair show off his sharpshooting abilities. First referenced by name in The Bad Batch season 3, episode 12, but first seen much earlier, in The Clone Wars season 7, episode 4, Plan 55 was the signal for Crosshair to ricochet his shots throughout an area, taking out as many enemies as possible . While he bounced his blaster bolts, the other members would take out any remaining enemies and provide cover.

The first instance of Plan 55, in The Clone Wars , helped establish the Bad Batch as a fearsome and fun to watch group. Plan 55 is also one of the few plans that has been seen multiple times, and the differences in its appearances highlighted how much of an effect Crosshair's time at Mount Tantiss had on him . His first two times executing the plan were nearly flawless, but the most recent example required Wrecker to clean up some remaining stormtroopers Crosshair had missed due to the tremble in his hand.

Season 3, Episode 3, "Shadows of Tantiss"

Before she was captured and taken to Mount Tantiss, Tech taught Omega every one of Clone Force 99's plans. That knowledge came in handy when she and Crosshair had to make an emergency exit. To do so, they used Plan 72, which involved the members of the squad splitting up, with some distracting the enemy forces while the others completed some objective . In the first episode it was mentioned, The Bad Batch season 3, episode 3, that objective was securing a ship to escape the planet with, and the task fell to Omega and Batcher.

Though Plan 72 is a seemingly simple maneuver, it also proved very effective, as it allowed Crosshair and Omega to escape. Not every plan can be flashy, and Plan 72 is a great example of one that serves its purpose without extra frills . Those types of plans were essential to the group's survival, and they were always there to fall back on when the odds were stacked against them, such as during Crosshair and Omega's escape.

3 Plan 82, "Shockwave"

The clone wars season 7, episode 1, "the bad batch".

Plan 82 was one of the few examples of what Clone Force 99 was capable of in its prime during the Clone Wars, with all of its members working together flawlessly.

The first plan Clone Force 99 ever carried out was Plan 82, also known as Shockwave. Plan 82 was a battle tactic that had the members of the squad rush forward to engage the enemy with shock grenades . In its first and only appearance in The Clone Wars season 7, episode 1, Wrecker protected the squad with a piece of wreckage, Tech calculated where bombs would be most effective, Hunter threw the grenades, and Crosshair shot and detonated them.

Shockwave immediately established that the Bad Batch was a well-oiled, efficient, and cooperative team unlike anything else in the Grand Army of the Republic . The plan was so bold and unusual that it even shocked Captain Rex, who served under Anakin Skywalker and was no stranger to unorthodox tactics. It was also one of the few examples of what Clone Force 99 was capable of in its prime during the Clone Wars, with all of its members working together flawlessly.

2 Plan 88, "The Seeker"

Season 2, episode 14, "tipping point".

One of the few plans that received a proper name was Plan 88, also known as the Seeker. It was also one of the few plans that didn't relate directly to battle, as Plan 88 was a code phrase to signal to the rest of the squad that they were being hunted and that they should go into hiding . It first appeared in The Bad Batch season 2, episode 14, when Crosshair sent a message to the rest of Clone Force 99 warning them that the Empire and Dr. Hemlock were after Omega.

Plan 88 is one of the best examples of how thorough and forward-thinking Clone Force 99's strategies were. There would have been little use for such a warning during the Clone Wars, as they would have had access to the Republic's resources and protection, and wouldn't have needed to go into hiding independently . At least one of their members saw the need for a plan dedicated to the then unlikely situation where they were truly on their own, and it paid off after the rise of the Empire.

Season 2, Episode 16, "Plan 99"

Plan 99 was decidedly the most tragic of all Clone Force 99's contingency plans, as it called for one of the group's members to sacrifice their own life to secure the rest of the squad's safety. The most famous, and luckily only, example of Plan 99 to date was Tech's death in The Bad Batch season 2 finale . With their getaway tram stalled, the Empire's forces closing in on them, and Tech hanging over an abyss, he heroically decided to detach the cart that was holding them back, and holding him up.

Tech's death completed plan 99 and secured the Bad Batch's escape, however tragic it was. It also served as a fitting reminder of the plan's, and the squad's, namesake: 99 from the Domino Squad arc of The Clone Wars . 99 was the first defective clone ever seen on-screen, and he also sacrificed his own life while trying to save his friends during a Separatist invasion of Kamino . His legacy clearly lived on well past his death, and it even partially inspired Tech's last act of heroism in The Bad Batch .
