Atomic Heart: Where to Find All Four Tour Students

Now dead but polymerized, a tour guide asks P-3 to discover the fate of her students.

Returning to the tour guide.

Atomic Heart is packed full of secret things. Secret Training facilities, hidden crafting recipes, obscure puzzles, and more can be found in nearly every building P-3 visits. There’s plenty to discover and do in Atomic Heart if players take the time to scan their surroundings and interact with everything.

One such hidden objective is finding four students that were on a tour of the All-Soviet Exhibition Center during “Uneasy Lies the Head That Wears a Crown.” Their tour guide lost them in the commotion when the robots malfunctioned . Now dead but polymerized, she expresses deep concern over their well-being. She implores P-3 to discover their fate, and he begrudgingly agrees.

The tour guide herself can be found on the top floor of the famous Exhibition Center . She’s distraught about the students that were on the tour with her. She’s uncertain as to their fate and would like to at least know what happened to them before she herself shuffles off into oblivion. Promising to help calms her down, but she has nothing in the way of real advice on where to look.

This self-important student is in the Experimental Botanical Complex on the first floor. He’s lying in the hallway after the stairs just before the last room. He has some demands to make of P-3, and he seems to think they matter a great deal.

Another student can be found in the Experimental Medical Complex in the first large, white room of that wing. It’s on the second floor. She has little to say, being stuck in a loop of terror.

This student is out in the open on the first floor, near the stairwell that’s opposite the tour guide. She’s depressed, but death has given her a new lease on life. Unfortunately, she won’t have long to enjoy it.

The final student is next to the relay that P-3 has to solve to fire up the Neural Network. Technically, he isn’t in the Exhibition Hall, but the dialogue options make it clear that he counts for the objective. They also make it clear that this student has a careless attitude about the death of his fellow students.

Upon returning to the tour guide, P-3 informs her that he’s discovered all the students. Tragically, they met the same fate as her. She bemoans the loss of life, but ultimately thanks P-3 for his help. She mentions that she doesn’t have anything with which to reward P-3, but games in this genre often use misdirection. This does get the player some progress on “The Necromancer” achievement, but there might be more that hasn’t been discovered.

The tour guide specifically mentions that she doesn’t have any sort of “access codes” to give out. However, she’s surrounded by blocks and boxes with various number and letter combos. It’s unclear if they mean anything, but for the sake of completeness, the sequences are:

Atomic Heart Tour Guide Students – Where to Find Them

This is where you can find the missing students

' src=

The Tour Guide side quest is an unmarked quest in Atomic Heart. It immediately starts after conversing with the Dead Tour Guide. She is dismayed not knowing the fate of the students she was responsible for. If the player chooses, they can go out of their way and ease the passing of the tour guide.

In this guide, we’ll tell you where you can find the missing students within the exhibit halls. There are no quest markers for this one, so you’ll have to rely on your eyes (and your scanner) to look for them. At the very least, you can look around for them while you are looking for Clair’s body parts.

Atomic Heart Tour Guide Student Locations

There are four students in total . There is one Vavilov, Pavlov, and such. In short, there is a student in every room a part can be found .

First Student Location

The first student can be on the second floor of the botanical garden exhibit. He was hiding in a corner when the robots found him. He even expected us to save in exchange for a reward from his father. Too bad, his son is dead now.

atomic heart tour guide students reddit

Second Studen Location

The second student can be found at the top of the facility. Right next to the power relay, to be exact. He was trying to solve the wall puzzle, but he couldn’t solve it, so the robots got him. But it’s not like it’s any better on the surface where more robots would have been waiting for him.

Third Student Location

The second student is at the Sakhalin Exhibit. The body is right next to the mutant growths near the doorway. Apparently, she planned on ending herself after she and her boyfriend broke up but realized it was silly ending things over a breakup. It was a moot point though the robots beat her to it.

Fourth Student Location

The fourth student’s corpse is located in the medical wing. Inside one of the exhibits. She was analyzing her cause of death when we came across her body. She’s too far gone to make any sort of sense of her surroundings.

Atomic Heart Tour Guide Quest Reward

When you have found all four students, report back to the tour guide to her the news. It won’t be good news but at least she knows now the fates of the students under her charge. Now let’s talk about your rewards.

atomic heart tour guide students reddit

If asked about if she knows any codes that could lead to a secret cache, she apologizes about not knowing any secrets on account of her being a mere tour guide. If anything, the quest puts you one step closer to getting the “Talking to Every Dead” trophy. It’s not much but it’s something.

And that’s all there is to the Tour Guide’s Last Tour. Don’t worry agents, it was the thought that counts. And the trophy, definitely the trophy.

How to Find the Missing Students in Atomic Heart

Image of Matthew Kevin Mitchell

Are you wondering where to find the missing students in Atomic Heart for the dead tour guide in the museum? This is one of many side quests you can complete in Atomic Heart. It is unique because you will complete it for a corpse, which will help satisfy The Necromancer trophy (talk to every dead).

The dead tour guide will explain that she led a group of students on a museum tour when the robots began attacking everyone. When this happened, the students fled, and the tour guide was killed. The tour guide will task you with locating the children to ensure they safely escape the museum. Unfortunately, the children were killed like everyone else in the museum, but you can still locate their corpses.

Where to Find the Missing Children in Atomic Heart

Their corpses will be spread throughout all levels of the museum, and you will be able to find them while finding Claire’s body parts. First, however, the game will not mark their locations or show where their corpses are at.

After locating a child using the instructions below, ensure you complete the conversation with them because this is how you confirm they were part of the tour. After finding all three children, you can report to the dead tour guide. She will thank you for finding them, and then you can no longer talk to her, completing the side quest.

Screen Rant

How to find the missing students in atomic heart.

Players exploring the Museum in Atomic Heart can choose to help the corpse of a dead tour guide who is desperate to find her missing students.

There are many missions and side quests for players to complete in the action-adventure game Atomic Heart , including the Where To Find The Missing Students quest. In this science fiction, BioShock-like game, players must explore the remains of a post-apocalyptic Soviet Union, overrun with haywire robots and parasitic mutants. While trying to uncover and stop the source of the rampant mutations, there's nothing stopping the player from helping those in need.

Players will find the corpse of a tour guide while exploring the museum. Keeping in line with Atomic Heart's creepy, surreal, and engaging design the dead tour guide will ask you to find three missing students who ran off when the robots attacked. Perhaps they're still alive, perhaps they're dead, but the tour guide's corpse cannot rest easy until they know what has happened to them.

Where To Find the Missing Students in Atomic Heart

The four students are scattered around the museum, so a player could conceivably just search every nook and cranny. But it's much better to have guide posts. The first student can be found in the botanical area of the museum, within the corridors behind some sealed doors. Like most of the plot of Atomic Heart , the player can advance by talking to a corpse. This one, calling itself Oracle, can be tricked into opening the door, beyond which the player will find the corpse of one of the students up the stairs. The conversation with this corpse is brief, and a bit depressing.

The next student can be found in the Sakhalin exhibit on floor two, by the stairwell and infected plants. She's dead as well. A cleaning robot will be trying and failing to move the corpse, and can be moved with a simple shock. The player can then converse with the corpse and advance the quest.

The third student is up by the power relay at the top of the museum . As can be surmised from the quest so far and the destruction we see in Atomic Heart's many trailers , he's dead. At least he didn't 'stray from the collective' in his own words.

The fourth and final student's corpse is up in the third-floor medical wing . Unlike the others, her last thoughts are caught in and endless loop of how she died, but the game indicates she was part of the tour. The tour guide is happy enough to have closure, but she has no rewards to give the player, just some complaints and a useful tidbit of information for Atomic Heart .

There are quite a few side activities to do in  Atomic Heart ,  ranging from upgrade hunting to exploration for useful crafting materials. One such activity also includes a small detour of sorts involving a tour guide and a few students who have gone missing in the VDNH museum complex. The locations of these students are unmarked, so here’s a quick guide for your reference.

Go to the stairs on the second floor to see a dead girl near some dark tendrils on the walls. Talk to her to tag her as part of the tour guide’s request. One of the cleaning robots on the floor might try to block your access to the student. Zap the back of it with SHOK to send it scurrying away.

Second missing student

Atomic Heart Dead Student 2

Right after talking to Oracle, go through the door they recently unlocked and head up the stairs to see the dead student lying on the floor. Go through the adjacent door and pick up the canister on the ground for a puzzle later.

Third missing student

Atomic Heart Student 3

Another missing student can be found inside the medical wing on the third floor . You’ll have to fight a Plyusch to get to her, though —  spam your abilities and use melee weapons to beat it. Once it’s dead, enter the new door that opens on the same floor as the boss fight and go through the corridor. Open the door at the end, fight off the bots, and speak to the student. She’s on the floor near the two robots posing on a pair of examination beds.

The last missing student is on the top floor. Fight your way past the Sprout-infested room and the bot-filled showroom, then make your way to the top floor via the elevator. The student will be at the top-most part of the large, cavernous area, right next to a power relay and a door that leads back to the rest of the open world.

With that, you’ve found all missing students in this section of Atomic Heart . You can now press forward.

While exploring the museum in Atomic Heart, you can help a dead tour guide who is trying to find his missing students. The tour guide's corpse will not rest until he learns the truth.

Four students are scattered throughout the museum:

  • To find the first student, go to the botanical part of the museum, into the corridors behind the locked doors. In Atomic Heart, the player can advance by talking to a corpse. Using trickery, get the Oracle to open the door. Climb the stairs and there you will find the corpse of a student. Talk to him.

Atomic Heart: Missing Students Guide

atomic heart tour guide students reddit

Atomic Heart is a large game offering a slew of things to find. Taking place in an alternate reality of the Soviet Union, players control the protagonist known as “P-3” to solve an incident that went array within a facility. Of course, with all the insanity that’s unfolding, there are going to be some people missing within the turmoil. One side-quest that P-3 can do is finding all the missing students as an optional objective. Talk to the Dead Tour Guide and she will mention that she was responsible for overseeing these students before they went missing. Find them to give her peace of mind so she can finally rest.

The kicker with this mission on Atomic Heart is that the missing students aren’t marked on the mini-map . Players must use their own two eyes to find the missing bodies. Luckily, P-3 can still scan the area and highlight the bodies to use as a crutch. Locating all of these corpses can be a bit of a chore. Especially, considering how large the areas can be. Therefore, thoroughly combing through the areas is the best method to complete this task. They are all located throughout various exhibit rooms within the Beluga Halls . This mission can be a two-layered endeavor. While scouring for Claire’s Body parts when playing the campaign, the Dead Tour Guide lies at the edge of a hallway.  She is pretty easy to spot.

Dead Student Bodies Locations

  • On top of the roof of the museum, there will be a Passive Security Relay puzzle inside a room. Laying adjacent to the puzzle will be the body of the student. Talk to the corpse and receive a general layout of what happened there and what their job was. On that note, it is advised to go ahead and complete the Passive Security Relay puzzle while in the room. This will eliminate the need to backtrack down the line.

Second Body

  • The Botanics Wing within the Vavilov Museum in Atomic Heart is located on the second floor . Go there and poke around for the second body. This will be the same area where players will need to find some Moon Canisters . In any case, a segment of this area will be secured by a locked door. In order to open this, talk to The Oracle . She will be next to the door and fairly simple to find. Once inside the room, run upstairs and turn left. The body will be waiting up there.
  • Go to the Medical Wing on the third floor. There will be a body chatting to itself, caught in an endless cycle of thoughts. It will not be sure what happened to it. Nonetheless, this is still one of the students that disappeared during the tour. Therefore, simply talk to it to find out what happened and garner some information about its predicament.

Fourth Body

  • Within the Sakhalin exhibit on the second floor , look around for a cleaning robot that is having trouble cleaning up a mess. Near the corrupted plants by the stairwell, the last body will be laid out. The robot will be struggling to shift the body. So, players can help dislodge it by shocking the student. After that, players can converse with the corpse to discover what happened to it.

Rewards After Finding All The Bodies

After finding all the student’s bodies in Atomic Heart , head back to the Dead Tour Guide at the Beluga Halls. Simply chat with her and she will relay a “thank you message” of sorts. On an unfortunate note, there isn’t a “reward” for completing this mission, per se. Instead, this mission will stack among similar missions that lean toward completing ‘The Necromancer’ Trophy/Achievement. Thus, the Dead Tour Guide will convey some nifty tidbits about the game. Talking to corpses is a major feature in this title and players are encouraged to go off the beaten path and listen to what they have to say.

In Atomic Heart , there is a total of 90 dead bodies to talk to. Their stories generally give exposition about the facility and help flesh out the world. They are generally a collectible to accumulate while playing the campaign. Basically, little bite-sized stories that help stitch together the overarcing narrative surrounding the facility. Talking to all of the corpses isn’t necessary to finish the game, of course. However, taking time to locate all of them does help with providing a richer and deeper experience. Some corpses will even provide some helpful tips about the facility which can help out players in the long run. Given how challenging some of the areas can be, knowing as much as possible about the facility can certainly give an edge during comabt and exploration.

There is no doubt that Atomic Heart is teeming with secrets. The dead corpses are the main outlet for observing lore and slowly unraveling what happened within the facility. The core of this game is that it is a mystery in which players must take the initiative and discover clues about what happened. There are many types of corpses to talk to in this game. Everything from dead soldiers to lifeless animals. To fully immerse oneself into the world of this IP, taking time to find all the corpses is highly recommended. Atomic Heart is now available for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.

8 things to know before starting Atomic Heart

And why you should always be careful when solving puzzles

Share All sharing options for: 8 things to know before starting Atomic Heart

Major P3 stares at his hand while Granny Zina looks on in Atomic Heart.

If it looks like a BioShock and walks like a BioShock, it’s... probably an Atomic Heart . The alternate history shooter, developed by Mundfish and out now for PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows PC, has a lot in common with Irrational’s seminal series of alternate history shooters, but only in a superficial sense. Rapture, this is not. Here are eight things you should know before really diving into Atomic Heart .

Learn how to read highlighted items

You’ll constantly scan your environment in Atomic Heart , which helpfully highlights useful stuff in various colors. Blue indicates lootable containers; white indicates NPC or objects you can interact with (like save stations and computers); orange indicates enemies; and purple indicates key items related to the main mission you’re on.

Can you make that jump? Look at your hand

There aren’t many platforming sections in Atomic Heart , but the few that show up are clunky, plodding, and arduous — not the sort of thing you want to repeat. It’s not always easy to gauge whether or not you can make a jump, but there’s one simple tell that works 100% of the time: If your hand is held outward (as seen in the screenshot below), you can make it. If it’s not, you can’t. And yes, there’s fall damage.

P3 holds his hand out while getting ready to jump over a gap in an early level of Atomic Heart.

You can reset puzzles

Opening locked doors in Atomic Heart means solving rudimentary lock-picking puzzles. These puzzles come in various types; you may have to time a series of button presses, for instance, or rotate an inner ring until its colors match that of an outer ring.

If you’re stumped on one specific puzzle, you can back out, then immediately jump back in to get a randomized variety of the same puzzle. More often than not, I’ve found the second roll easier than the initial one. There is no penalty for resetting, either: Sometimes you might have to solve a multipart puzzle, but in backing out, the game will acknowledge that you’ve solved the first part and start you at the second.

Oh, a heads up: Enemies can attack you while you’re trying to solve a puzzle. Make sure the room is clear first!

Your surplus loot automatically goes into storage

You can carry a limitless amount of every resource used for crafting. But you’re restricted in how many consumable supplies — med packs, ammo, that sort of thing — you can cart around. You manage what you carry not through monitoring slots or weight limits but through a derivative grid-style inventory (think: Deus Ex).

The rest goes into your permanent storage, which you can access by interacting with fridge-sized computers, called Nora, near most save stations. When you’re in the middle of a mission, you can clear extra space in your inventory by pressing R3 while tabbing over a specific item you don’t need to carry — that’ll send it to storage automatically. You can only get it back into your inventory by visiting a Nora unit, though.

By the way: The storage menu doesn’t tell you what each object is when you hover the cursor over it. But if you tab over to the “disassembly” view, you’ll be able to see information about what those items actually are.

The Atomic Heart skill tree shows upgrades for the polyermic shield ability.

Focus on one skill

In Atomic Heart , you can learn a handful of BioShock -inspired elemental skills. But the equipment process is limited (you can only have two equipped at once, and can only switch at Nora stations), and doesn’t incentivize using multiple skills. You’re better off picking one skill you enjoy and making it ridiculously overpowered than you are trying to incrementally power-up a little bit of each one.

You can’t go wrong with the frost skill

If you’re focusing on one skill, the frost one, Frostbite , is your best bet. By holding down L1/LB, you can freeze enemies in place for a short time with a steady stream of ice. Atomic Heart is at its most difficult when you’re getting overwhelmed by crowds. Frostbite allows you to manage those crowds. (Bonus: When you rank it up, frozen enemies will repeatedly take damage from being frozen.)

Level up the Electro pistol

Ammo is by no measure abundant in Atomic Heart (not exactly Resident Evil levels of scarce, but still notably less than you’d get in, say, a Fallout game). Energy weapons, like the Electro pistol, don’t use ammo; instead, they operate on a charged meter that recharges fairly quickly. Since the Electro pistol essentially has unlimited ammo, provided you take the time to let it recharge between combat encounters, you’re better off upgrading it over those that rely on how scrupulous you are at scrounging for bullets.

Becoming frustrated? Dial down the challenge

Atomic Heart is a maddening game, frustrating in ways that seem like the developers don’t even want you to play it. Switching to easy mode — called “Peaceful Atom” in the game’s parlance — mitigates some of the frustration, making it feel more like a traditional first-person shooter. Also, you’ll worry less about the fact that you can only save at save stations.
