Especially those who have to fight their significant others for a scrap of space on the edge or accommodate the family dog.

It’s not often you get to see toy hauler travel trailers with a king-size bed. The garage space takes up a lot of space, with the rest of the RV subject to the constraints of what’s left over. However, the Cherokee 23GOLD15 is an example of how a king bed can be successfully added to a toy hauler RV.

This Gold-Series Cherokee toy hauler also has 15 feet of garage space, a rear canvas screen, and a patio deck railing system for a party patio conversion. The forced air-heated underbelly creates a layer of heat that will prevent the cold from seeping up into the king-size bed, which will help keep you warm on those cold nights.

Sub-30-foot travel trailers with a king-size bed aren’t common, and the Coachmen Freedom Express Ultra Lite 259FKDS pulls it off in style. It makes sense to place the kitchen up front, naturally flowing into the dining and entertainment areas, making the living room large. There’s even room to walk around the king, with even more space for a TV shelf, two large wards, and overhead compartments.

The Cruiser RV Radiance R-25BH is known for its luxurious features at an affordable price. The fact that it’s one of the travel trailers with a king-size bed on our list means it’s already halfway there. The tri-tone, gloss-dipped, Azdel sidewalls, plywood floor, and aluminum roof make for a sealed, highly durable environment. As another sub-30-foot travel trailer with a king bed, this Cruiser takes it to the next level with a sliding king bed feature.

They already accomplished much through maximizing space and cramming in a king. However, Cruiser installed a patent-pending king bed slideout to exploit the master bedroom’s space fully. As far as Grand Design is concerned, why not have the best of both worlds? Out of the travel trailers with king-size beds, the Grand Design Reflection 315RLTS is one of the most acclaimed. Theater seating adjacent to a tri-fold sofa and a swiveling HD TV is part of an exciting package. Even the kitchen island, which sits almost directly in the middle of everything, doesn’t detract from the roomy and luxurious-feeling interior.

Regarding the king bed, it’s important to mention it’s not a standard feature from the factory. But, Many RV dealers do order the Reflection 315RLTS with the King Bed from the manufacturer. So you may be able to locate the Reflection 315RLTS at an RV dealer in your area.

This Heartland Mallard M251BH features a rare combination in the RV industry—two full-size bunk beds with a king mattress in the master bedroom. Usually, if you see two doubles, you get a queen in the master to save some of that crucial space. Heartland saved space and gave RVers the best of both anyway.

Better yet, the double bunks are directly adjacent to a surprisingly large bathroom with a shower that offers plenty of standing room. The U-shaped dinette is luxury personified, with thick, black cushioning around a table more than large enough to accommodate a large family.

The kitchen has plenty of counter space, and the pantry is exceptionally large, big enough to walk into. The hideaway storage is really nice and can be used as a gear storage closet since the door is next to the RV’s entry door.

7. Jayco Eagle 330RSTS

The Jayco Eagle 330 RSTS is one of the more laid-back, relaxing, and luxurious travel trailers on the list. With the king-size bed being a part of the slide-out, the amount of space in the master bedroom is fantastic. It’s about as close as you can get to the feeling of being in a master bedroom in a residential home.

Even the shower has a seat, surrounded by a fairly large bathroom. The 330RSTS feels even more open thanks to several overhead storage compartments—one over the tri-fold sofa, one over the kind bed, and one over the entertainment center.

Jayco also focused on durability and longevity in the manufacturing of the 330RTS. A magnum truss roof rests on top of Stronghold VBL laminated walls. The tech is just as nice as the comfort, including the JayCommand Smart RV System, a Helix Cooling System, Climate Shield weather protection, and LED illuminated universal docking station.

Outside of the ‘half-ton’ moniker (it won’t take much in the way of additional weight to make it un-towable with most half-ton trucks), the floorplan on the Keystone Cougar Half-Ton 30BHS is excellent. It can easily accommodate 6 to 7, both space-wise and for sleeping.

As one of the mid-size travel trailers with a king-size bed, the Cougar half-ton offers plenty of space around the bedroom. You don’t have to turn sideways to walk around three sides of the bed.

The rear bunk section is designed to flow into the living room/kitchen area without a problem. If you have a child on each bunk and another sleeping on the convertible dinette, the kids can still have their own spaces near each other.

The dual-entry bathroom is large, spacious and acts as a separator between the master bedroom and the rest of the RV. With two sliding doors, the kids can use the bathroom at night, while mom and dad can keep their door locked on their side. This way, privacy can be maintained.

9. KZ Connect C292RDK

The master bedroom is also very spacious, with enough room for two. The master bedroom has an opposing wardrobe with a washer and dryer prep installed. The dual-opposing slide-outs really add to the roomy feel of the living room area and galley.

If you prefer to take things outdoors, the 20′ awning offers plenty of shade over a mini-kitchen with a slide-out griddle. You also have access to pass-through storage on the exterior front of the RV. Though it’s designated to sleep 5, there is still more than enough space throughout to host guests for dinners, get-togethers, or parties.

If there’s one thing that really extenuates space, it’s light. The Lance 2465 has a lot of natural light going for it, thanks to the windows. This is especially true in the J-lounge, a nice, J-shaped couch surrounded by windows, specifically a very large front window. It’s the perfect spot to relax and take a nap on a warm, lazy afternoon.

The mid-bathroom serves two functions—a place to go to the bathroom, and it separates the master bedroom from the rest of the RV. The middle bathroom not only grants privacy to the master bedroom but also adds a few extra layers of soundproofing.

The galley is perfectly integrated into the living space with a sizeable dinette, some decent counter space, and a TV that’s strategically positioned to be out of the way. You won’t have to worry about knocking yourself out when standing up from one of the cabinets.

For those that are looking for a great RV to work on the road, the Lance 2465 has an amazing desk in the master bedroom. It has both house-type 110V and USB outlets for your computer and all of your peripherals. You’ll have plenty of daylight to work from with the window against the wall.

Remember to put your office devices away if you want to lay in bed later that night and enjoy the TV on the elevator rising from the back of the desk.

11. Palomino Puma 31FKRK

In this case, there is plenty of extra room for a very large wardrobe, a washer and dryer prep area, and a dresser. Though the bathroom is located at the midway point, it doesn’t entirely divide the master from the rest of the RV.

The dual recliners and the large dinette provide plenty of sitting and lounging spots, especially if you have an average-size family and want to host a few more guests. Speaking of guests, you can choose an optional exterior package that includes an outside kitchen with a griddle.

It’s very convenient, especially for those couples who ignite world wars over sink space.

The entertainment area is exceptional, with a theater sofa opposite a hide-a-bed sofa and a large 50″ HDTV between them. Since the bathroom is on the end with the master bedroom beside it, the overall design caters to couples.

The kitchen space is roomy, with an island that features a dual-well sink. The dinette is fairly standard and straightforward, while the counter space is more than adequate.

You have to measure how much additional space the new bigger mattress will take up in your RV’s master bedroom and see if it will fit between the side furniture and still leave you walking space around it.

You may have to replace the platform that the mattress will lay on to support it. Modifying the existing one may work, but if the dimensions of the plyboard isn’t wide enough, you will have to replace it.

What Are the Dimensions of a King Bed in Travel Trailers?

King mattresses come in a variety of sizes and dimensions, so you will need to look around to find the perfect one for you. However, you can usually assume that king-size beds will range from 74 to 76 inches wide by 76 to 80 inches long.

California King beds are approximately 72 inches wide by 84 inches long. So for you taller folks out there a California King may be the perfect king-size bed for you but we have never seen a travel trailer with a California King bed yet. And we have toured and reviewed thousands of trailers.

It’s also important to remember that RV mattresses have different dimensions compared to residential mattresses. And many manufacturers do not list the actual bed size in their specs. Some just say King Bed but who knows what size the bed is.

RV mattresses are usually smaller than the ones you use at home. So be sure to bring your tape measure like I do when we tour RVs to make sure you know exactly what you are getting.

There are a wide range of travel trailers out there with a king bed, and they come in a variety of sizes. Just because it has a king bed doesn’t mean it has to be a monstrous RV.

The bathroom is a split affair, but there’s more than enough space, with a large shower and plenty of legroom. The king bed is part of a slide, offering more space in the master bedroom, with a second, large window for plenty of natural lighting throughout the day.

If you prefer to cook outdoors, there’s an outside kitchen, which includes a refrigerator and a slide-out griddle beneath a 22′ awning. The kitchen is spacious too, with an L-shape counter that provides plenty of space for meal prep.

You only get the neckbreaker deal if you’re watching TV from the sofa unless it’s just you and you can kick back with your head on one end. There are windows everywhere, especially around the dinette, so there’s plenty of natural light pouring in, even on a rainy day.

On either side, you’ll get a small shelf that acts as a nightstand, underneath two nicely sized windows. There’s a sliding privacy door that separates it from the kitchen area.

The master bedroom offers tons of privacy as it’s separated by a door from the rest of the trailer. Winnebago offers an upgrade to a king-size bed in all of the Voyage floor plans for a few hundred bucks.

The bedroom has a wardrobe and nightstand on either side of the 72” x 80” king size bed. You’ve also got washer/dryer prep in the closet of the bedroom. The bathroom is between the living area and the bedroom and has a really nice large walk-in shower.

Jayco White Hawk 30FLS

The Jayco White Hawk is a very popular travel trailer with a king bed. The bedroom itself really feels like you could be in a master bedroom at your house. 

The 72” x 80” king size bed is tucked under overhead storage cabinets and faces a wardrobe with a TV. On one side of the bathroom, you’ll also get two large wardrobes and a bench in between them.

(The master bedroom also has its own private entrance!)

In the middle of the trailer is the large bathroom area, which has two sinks and lots of counter space. 

The living area in the Jayco White Hawk has a u-shaped dinette and a tri fold sofa, along with a large double basin sink.

The entertainment center in the living area faces the tri-fold sofa and has an electric fireplace underneath.

Dutchmen Kodiak Ultimate 2921FKDS

• Hinged cabinets cover entryway

• Booth dinette

The Dutchmen Kodiak has one of my favorite floorplans I’ve seen in a travel trailer. The king bedroom is completely private, separated from the living area by the bathroom with doors on either side.

In the bedroom, you get three large windows, an electric fireplace, and an entertainment center. Plus overhead storage cabinetry, LED lighting, and two wardrobes.

The living area is completely closed off by a hinged door, so you can’t even tell you’re in an RV when you’re hanging out in the kitchen.

The pullout offers lots of extra floor space and natural lighting from the windows above the entertainment chairs and booth dinette. The kitchen in this trailer has maybe the most countertop space I’ve seen in any travel trailer. 

So, this kitchen is great if you love to cook when you’re on the road and find you need to use a lot of counter space for prepping.

Cruiser RV Shadow Cruiser 215RBS

• Sliding king size bed
• Work from home desk space
• Just 22 feet in length
• Curtain for master bedroom privacy

Cruiser RV’s Shadow Cruiser is the smallest travel trailer with a king bed I’ve found. It’s just 22 feet long!

The Shadow Cruiser is another couple’s coach from Cruiser RV. It’s made for two but can sleep up to six. The king size bed is enclosed by a curtain and has Cruiser RV’s sliding system for extra elbow room on either side of the bed.

The living area has a u-shaped dinette and an L-shaped kitchen with lots of kitchen space.

At the back is a space that’s designed for you to use if you work from home–half the back wall is a desk with some storage underneath. Next to the work area is a mid-sized bathroom with lots of counter space.

If you don’t have the towing capacity to lug around a huge 40 foot trailer, the dainty 22 foot Shadow Cruiser is a great option for you.

It’s especially great if you plan to travel by yourself, with a partner, and you really need a good workspace with you. Plus, there’s lots of extra sleeping room in case you want to bring friends and family with you.

Palomino Puma 31FKRK

The Palomino Puma is a large trailer with a large living space and a private master bedroom. The living space is a large room with a tri-fold sofa, a dinette, and reclining seats that face the entertainment center.

The kitchen area has a three-burner stove and an overhead microwave. You’ll also get a large kitchen sink with a high-rise faucet and tons of counter space.

The king-size bed is located in one of two pull-outs in the trailer, which makes the room feel very spacious. 

There isn’t any room on either side of the king bed, but you do get overhead cabinet space and a large wardrobe. Plus, there’s a closet with washer/dryer prep in the corner of the bedroom.

The bathroom in the Puma is pretty standard. It separates the king bedroom from the living area and has a shower, sink, toilet, and small linen closet.

But the biggest plus? The whole trailer has heated floors so you can have nice warm feet on cold mornings. YES!

Forest River’s Vibe 28RB has tons of fancy amenities and built-in features that might catch your eye if you’re looking for a trailer that feels like home.

The bedroom is totally private and has a 72” x 80” king size bed with storage underneath. There are nightstands with USB charging ports on either side of the bed, and overhead storage above.

The living area features in the Vibe are pretty standard, except that it has a very large refrigerator and a walk-in pantry!! In the bathroom, you’ll get two large linen closets, a toilet, shower, and sink. Outside, the Vibe has a little outdoor kitchen with an induction cooktop.

Plus, panoramic windows wrap around the living area. And the whole thing comes with solar in the standard package.

Keystone RV Cougar Half-Ton 22MLS

The Cougar Half-Ton is a mid-sized trailer from Keystone RV with a really gorgeous interior. The travel trailer has hardwood cabinetry throughout, and heated flooring. 

In the kitchen, you’ll get a large double basin stainless steel sink with a high-rise faucet. Plus a booth dinette with a TV above it, and a large pantry. 

The bathroom is pretty standard, with a toilet, sink, shower, and sliding door. 

The king bedroom is separated from the rest of the space by a curtain. You’ll get underbed storage in the 70” x 80” king bed, and nightstands on either side.

The nightstands are set up with USB charging ports. The bedroom comes fitted with a “platinum series” king mattress which Keystone claims is very comfortable.

This travel trailer also comes with some pretty sweet extras, like a shoe cubby right when you walk in the door, and solar panels in the base package.

Highland Ridge Open Range Light 275RLS

• Kitchen island with sink

The Highland Ridge Open Range is a larger travel trailer with a king suite and tons of living space.

The king bedroom is pretty roomy for a travel trailer bedroom. It has lots of storage space, plus nightstands on both sides of the bed.

The bedroom also has a laundry chute, which is a super unique feature I haven’t seen in any other travel trailer. You’ll also get a wardrobe with washer/dryer prep inside.

The bathroom has a large walk-in shower, a sink, and a toilet, and is enclosed by a sliding door. The living area has lots of floor space because of the two opposing pullouts.

On one side are two theater seats and a dinette, and on the other are all your kitchen appliances, an entertainment center, and an electric fireplace. There’s also a kitchen island in the center of the space. In the very back, you’ll get a tri fold sofa for extra sleeping space.

The Lance 2465 is a great mid-range travel trailer perfect for couples.

The king size bed is located in a pull out, which makes the bedroom feel super spacious. The large windows in the bathroom add a lot of natural light to the space. 

There’s a huge entertainment center in the bedroom, with a 40” TV, and wardrobes on both sides. The second pull-out is located at the dinette, and has wrap-around windows.

The underbelly of the trailer is totally enclosed and heated, so this trailer is perfect for winter camping. 

The standard package also comes with a roof rack for hauling kayaks, skis, or whatever outdoor equipment you have!

What Types of King Mattresses Can You Get for Your Trailer?

Although many RV manufacturers claim that their mattresses are ultra-comfortable, this isn’t always the case. RV mattresses are notoriously thin and uncomfortable, so many people opt to purchase a mattress separately. 

If you do want to pick your own mattress, there are a few different options out there. I’ll explain them and why I’d recommend (or not recommend) any of the following options.

Air Mattress: Not Recommended

Air mattresses are one option for a king mattress in travel trailers. However, I really do not recommend them because they can be really uncomfortable. Plus, you have to inflate them pretty often. 

If you’re going to invest in a king sized bed for your travel trailer, invest in a quality mattress as well. An air mattress doesn’t really cut it unless it’s just temporary use.

Residential Memory Foam Mattress: Comfortable But Might Not Fit

Memory foam mattresses like the ones you buy online and are shipped to your house in a box are super comfortable. (If you have one, you know).

These are a super comfortable option for an RV king mattress, but you’ll have to make sure they will fit in the given space. 

Since some RV king beds can be as small as 70 inches wide, the extra 6 inches on a residential mattress just might not fit in the layout of the RV.

Mattress Toppers: Great to Boost Comfort

Memory foam mattress toppers are a great option if you find your mattress is a tiny bit uncomfortable. A mattress topper will not fix all your problems, but it’ll just boost the comfort of a thin mattress a bit.

These are inexpensive and can be cut to fit the size of your mattress. You can also order a custom-sized topper from Mattress Insider .

However, they might slide around a bit and aren’t a permanent solution to a highly uncomfortable mattress.

There aren’t currently any travel trailer manufacturers that offer king-size murphy beds. This would be an upgrade you’d have to take on yourself.

Can I use a regular king mattress in my travel trailer?

Yes you can, though it might not be a perfect fit.

Typical king bed dimensions in a travel trailer are between 70 and 74 inches wide whereas a residential king mattress is 76 inches wide.

What is the smallest travel trailer with a king bed?

The Cruiser RV Shadow Cruiser might be the smallest travel trailer out there with a king bed at just 22 feet long.

Can I put a king bed in a queen sized space in my travel trailer?

If your travel trailer has a queen size bed and you want a king, it is possible to put a king bed in the travel trailer.

You’ll need to make sure, most importantly, that there’s enough room on either side of the queen bed for a king bed to fit in the space.

Then, you may have to add some extra supports for the overhang of the mattress.

A king bed in a travel trailer may seem like a big luxury, but it’s not really such a huge reach.

You don’t necessarily have to shell out a ton of cash or purchase a huge rig to find a travel trailer with a nice comfy king bed.

Fortunately, there are plenty of options out there, from large trailers with king beds in master suites and tons of extra sleeping room, to studio-style couple’s trailers.

And why not amp up the comfort even more by adding a custom mattress to replace the thin mattress that usually comes with travel trailers??

Just a FYI for would-be buyers of new travel trailers (and any other type), make sure the PDI is complete and ALL warranty repairs conducted before you leave the lot. Especially if you are not from that area and plan on taking it home in another state.

The dealers in your home state may not conduct warranty work on your trailer since you didn’t buy it from them and can’t be bothered with you. Service work may not be available as well if you didn’t buy it from them. They prioritize service techs for people that bought from them. Lastly, they may perform warranty repairs, but make you pay for the warranty work upfront and YOU then have to make your case to the Manufacturer for reimbursement.

Just my experience in my area. Your experience will vary. Find out if you can get warranty work for your trailer in your area IF you bought it elsewhere.

If your holiday or weekend plans entail sleeping in the very same area as your spouse, or you’re just past the time of life when you’re happy to fit into a tiny nocturnal space, it might be challenging to find solutions in certain camper trailers.

The front wall has a deep sink, counter space, and cabinets. The entry wall has a three-burner range, oven, and microwave.

And we enjoy the option of an outside kitchen. A microwave and a mini-fridge are included in the outdoor kitchen. This travel trailer’s outdoor kitchen option is a great feature. An outdoor kitchen with a mini-fridge and induction stove is another wonderful option for this model. To drive this travel trailer off the usual road for a few days, you may need a portable waste water tank.

The Palomino Puma 31FKRK. Durable and easy to pull with a 1/2 ton tow vehicle, Palomino’s Puma line With a 37’8″ external length, the 31FKRK can go almost anyplace. Its inside height is 80 inches, giving you and your guests plenty of headroom.

There is a 6 cubic foot conventional fridge and an 11 cubic foot option. The stainless steel appliances and beautiful backsplash are excellent touches. The huge pantry and entertainment center flank the refrigerator. The entertainment center contains a 31-inch fireplace and a TV that can be adjusted to maximize the viewing area.

The dinette (or optional free-standing table and chairs) and matching recliners are on the front slide opposite the entertainment center. A trifold sofa converts to a queen-sized bed in the living area.

The main bedroom contains a 72 x 80 king-size walk-around bed with a window at the head. Two big wardrobes with hanging space are available, one with an optional washer/dryer. The wall opposite the bed features a dresser and TV hookup.

Jayco White Hawk 32KBS

Consider the Jayco White Hawk 30 FLS if you need storage and features for long-term camping. This spacious travel trailer is ideal for long excursions.

The bedroom is huge and beautiful with a king-size bed in its master bedroom. Overhead storage and corner shelves are a wonderful addition to bedside accessories. The bedroom also features three separate storage closets. The built-in bench sitting makes getting dressed a breeze. The 72 x 80 king-size bed slides out in the bedroom. A wide panoramic window faces the bed, with a dresser underneath, and the choice of a fireplace or a big flat-screen TV in a TV cabinet for viewing a movie after a hard day.

The bathroom has separate linen storage and a huge enormous shower. Couples will appreciate the two sinks with overhead storage. The bathroom sits in the back of the trailer, directly off the living area, and has motion sensor lights for easy access to the shelves and racks. The porcelain foot-flush toilet is by the huge corner shower.

It has a tri-fold sofa and a u-shaped dinette for lounging. If you wish, you can replace the dinette with theater seats or a free-standing table. Stunning peninsula kitchen with double pantry and enormous fridge!

LED lighting and twin exit stairs make life inside and outside the travel trailer a pleasure.

If you prefer a more traditional layout, the Jayco White Hawk 32KBS has a front kitchen. A popular brand in the RV industry, Jayco’s White Hawk series provides luxury lightweight trailers. This model is 37’10” long and 81″ tall.

The entryway closet and corner pantry are great touches, and the L-shaped counter in the kitchen includes a countertop extension for more prep or serving room.

The solid surface countertop and stainless steel appliances are wonderful, but the pull-up charger station at the end of the counter is one of the best features.

For storage, the three-burner range has a Dometic stovetop with a cool knife block. This model includes an 8 cubic foot refrigerator.

The living room entertainment unit has a 50-inch TV and a beautiful fireplace that also heats the room. The White Hawk’s second slide is carpeted and has a large tri-fold sofa and a u-shaped dinette.

The 32KBS also includes an outdoor kitchen with a two-burner stove, a small sink, and a mini-fridge under the 21-foot awning, which is also illuminated by LEDs.

Couples seeking a lightweight travel trailer with a king-size bed would appreciate the Jayco White Hawk 32 KBS. This particular travel trailer floor design features a king-size bed and a nice window bench. The Jayco White Hawk 32 KBS can officially sleep six, though four may be more realistic. Especially for longer trips where folks may need extra room.

This vacation trailer’s entertainment center stands out. You receive a big TV and another electric fireplace. This means you may hook up your RV to a generator or a campground’s shore power for extra heat in the summer or fall. It’s a terrific method to stay warm on a cold night without using up your gas supply.

The rear bathroom is arguably on the tiny side. The shower stall isn’t too small. A 42-gallon freshwater tank supplies the toilet, shower, bathroom sink, and kitchen sink. Both gray and black water tanks are 61 gallons. It’s a tad small for a couple wanting to live off the grid but perfect for an RV park.

This wonderful travel trailer’s bedroom is stunning. Easy access to overhead storage and plenty of room around the comfortable king bed After a long day, the bedroom contains a TV and a fireplace built into the dresser. A cozy window seat is located between the two closets, ideal for putting on shoes or finishing a novel.

Its residential-style kitchen is a showpiece. You’ll be perfectly at home in this kitchen with solid wood cabinets and solid surface counters. A huge stainless steel sink, a pull-down sprayer faucet, and a gas cooktop complete this package.

This camper’s living area is perfect for sitting and relaxing. It’s easy to accommodate visitors with the huge dinette and tri-fold sofa. It’s a great apartment with two fireplaces.

The Weather-Shield Package adds extra insulation for colder locations. In case of a sudden cold spell, the weather shield keeps you warm and comfortable.

A luxurious travel trailer with the thrill of camping, Venture RV’s SportTrek Touring series.

There are eight-floor plans with outdoor cooking areas or pass-through storage, thus nine of their ten-floor plans include king-size beds. A bike or other outdoor equipment storage rack is available as an option on all of their models.

If you are looking for a trailer with a unique floor plan, then this range is definitely worth a look. With a rear kitchen or bedroom, an open floor layout with a hutch, or a separate dining area.

With its distinctive features and classic layout, the STT322VRL travel trailer is our top option. It is 35’11” long and 82″ tall.

This type has a rear entry. One of the most useful pieces of furniture in the room is a 70-inch tri-fold sofa that converts to a bed. A wide window and storage are located above.

An angled entertainment center (with fireplace) and a carpeted slide hold the theater seating in this space.

It also shows the free-standing table and chairs opposite the L-shaped kitchen. The kitchen includes an 8 cubic foot refrigerator, three-burner range, and dual sinks. However, the plan does not require any bulky walls or dividers to create the illusion of isolation.

This means that the restroom isn’t on display at the trailer’s entrance or at the trailer’s conclusion. The lavatory and toilet are opposite the 30 x 36 shower with a skylight.

In the front, the 70 x 80 king bed is on a slide. In comparison to the previous king beds, this one is 2 inches thinner. The fireplace and TV are on the dresser opposite the bed.

It comes in up to ten distinct floorplans from Venture RV. As the greatest king-size travel trailer choice, the STT322VRL stands out. The front includes a small master suite with a king-size bed built into the front slide-out part.

You can also sleep on the fold-out couch. Overall, the SportTrek Touring STT322VRL can accommodate six people. Still, 4 people may be more realistic for a longer journey, where extra space is often desired. Extra sleeping space is useful for overnight guests.

Dutchmen Kodiak Ultimate 3021RBDS

Another reason Kodiak uses the word “Ultimate” correctly. It’s a king bed with a bunkhouse. This travel trailer is family-friendly. Kodiak planned every detail of this coach. A full-size SUV can tow it. So the whole family may travel together in one vehicle.

The master suite contains a 70 x 80-inch king bed. The bunkhouse’s three bunks are 28 x 74. The two-seater dinette converts to a twin bed, and the main dinette is full. A mobile trailer that sleeps 8 people requires a lot of storage. So Kodiak designers added A pantry the size of a cupboard, large wardrobes, and lots of ceiling storage. The RV contains a ten-cubic-foot refrigerator and a full kitchen. On nice days, use your outside kitchen. It contains a small fridge, two-burner propane stove, sink, and plenty of outlets.

The booth dinette seats four, while the bunkhouse has a two-person dinette. Full-time RVers might use this space for homeschooling books and laptops. Relax in front of the TV on the two-person theatre sofa. Dutchmen have a long history of providing campers, fifth-wheel campers, and travel trailers to satisfy almost any demand.

The Dutchmen Kodiac Ultimate also includes a 50-gallon freshwater tank, 78-gallon gray water tank, and 28-gallon black water tank. For an extended stay off the grid, you may bring additional water in a separate storage tank. It’s ideal for hunting parties who wish to bond for a week or longer without relying on an RV park.

Like Jayco, Dutchmen is a well-known RV maker. The Kodiak Ultimate is one of the company’s largest and most opulent models, so anticipate plenty of high-end features. First, this RV has two entertainment centers, each with a fireplace. One of the centers is a bedroom door. The master bedroom has two TVs and two fireplaces once the door is closed. There is also a bench seat inside for extra seating and movement.

This RV’s design and style are superb. The interior has faux leather seats and faux marble surfaces. If the inside wasn’t so little, you’d think you were in a hotel. Finally, the Kodiak Ultimate has an outside kitchen but no awning. So park in the shade or bring your own shade umbrella.

Cruiser RV Radiance

The Radiance from Cruiser RV also features many floor plans with a king-size bed standard. The R-22RB is a two-person trailer that is shorter. This model’s outer length is 27’5′′, while the internal height is 83 inches. One slide houses the u-shaped dinette and a residential-style 6 cubic foot refrigerator next to the u-shaped kitchen. The kitchen has lots of workspace and storage for individuals who enjoy cooking.

The trash chute is conveniently situated beside the three-burner range. A huge sink with a high-rise faucet and steel ball-bearing full extension drawer guides complete the kitchen. There is an amazing amount of counter space in the trailer’s bathroom. The sink and mirrored medicine cabinet are in the bathroom’s corner, and the counter spans the length of the wall. A supplementary shelf is built next to the shower.

The entertainment center separates the kitchen from the bedroom and includes storage and a large TV. The master bedroom has two doors from either part of the 72 x 80 king-size bed. Overhead storage, closets on either side and nightstands are provided. There are windows on both sides of the bed, and a TV mount on the wall facing the bed. Optional features include a bumper-mounted LP BBQ barbecue and upgraded A/C.

Like Jayco, Palomino, and Keystone, Cruiser has a long history in the RV market. In order to save money for travel expenses, the Cruiser RV Radiance R-26 KB was developed for couples and small families with a limited budget. A king-size bed is positioned near the travel trailer’s nose cap in the Cruiser RV-Radiant R-26 KB.

It’s perfect for the little master suite. Also included in the main living room are a fold-out sofa bed and sleeper chairs. In theory, this travel trailer can sleep six. Four seems more plausible. The bathroom is spacious for a king-size bed cheap travel trailer. Shower while the other gets ready at the sink. In addition to enough space on the counter and storage, the kitchen features a handy trash shoot.

This RV’s 44-gallon freshwater tank supplies the kitchen and bathroom. 30 gallon gray and black water tanks in this travel trailer. With this, you can go for several days without going to the RV dump station. A GVWR of 7,644 pounds and a hitch weight of 644 pounds are also worth noting for the Radiance R-26 KB from Cruiser RV. Most half-ton pickup trucks can tow it comfortably. A mid-size SUV would definitely be too big for it.

Heartland North Trail 33RETS

If you want a front-facing bedroom but don’t want to go the length of your camper to use the restroom in the middle of the night, the Heartland North Trail 33RETS may be more appealing.

This type has a 39’8″ outside length with a capped roof that allows for an 82″ inside ceiling height. That implies plenty of headroom for travelers above 6 feet tall. The first slide is in the bedroom to make a place for the king-size bed. Front wardrobe with sliding glass doors, hanging storage, and washer/dryer hookups. A wide window and above storage area flank the bed.

This is a slight trade-off for a vast living area. A spacious kitchen island or counter space and a three-burner range/stove combo complete the kitchen. The living room has a huge couch that may be used as a hide-a-bed for kids or a guest couple.

The bathroom is large, with plenty of elbow room in the shower. The Heartland North Trail 33RETS has a 52-gallon freshwater tank, making it ideal for couples who like to boondock or camp off-grid. The gray and black water tanks are each 42 gallons, and the fresh water tank is 52 gallons. It also reduces the need to run to the RV park’s disposal station. Invest in large-capacity portable wastewater tanks. So you can get to the disposal station in one or two journeys.

With so many slide-outs, there’s more room to move about and stretch. Keep in mind that setting up for the night will take longer. Its huge tanks should last up to a week depending on usage.

The North Trail includes a large kitchen island with a sink. The eating area also features normal chairs that can be moved around. Having conventional chairs in the dinette is rare in RVs. Regarding seats, there are two alternatives (or the built-in fireplace). Two recliners flank the TV, while a sofa flanks it on the side. This king bed travel trailer offers an enclosed bedroom and its own bathroom. Lastly, there is a large wardrobe beside the bed, so plenty of storage room can be utilized.

What to Look for in a Travel Trailer with a King Bed

When buying a new trailer, there are various factors to consider when looking at the bed. These considerations will heavily influence your choice of RV, so take your time. Taking your time will ensure you get the best RV.

How many companions will you be having?

Before buying an RV or travel trailer, determine how many people will be sleeping in it at any given moment. This determines the size of the trailer and the number of beds required. Which beds you want in your trailer will depend on your budget.

If you are traveling with your spouse, a king-size bed may be best. It’s big enough for both of you and uses less space than two twin beds.

However, if you plan to travel largely with your pals, a king-size bed may not be necessary. Instead, acquire a camper with multiple twin beds to conserve room. The king bed is useless if you are the only one sleeping in it.

Total Travel Trailer Layout

You must also analyze the trailer’s overall design. RVs and trailers come in a wide range of designs. So a bed for one trailer may not fit in another. So, before you buy a bed, consider the trailer’s design.

A king-size bed may not fit in a smaller trailer. Other trailers may be spacious enough, but you may have to give up the night tables to have a king bed.

Underneath the King Bed Storage

In addition to measuring just under 37 feet in length, this camper has a relatively low dry weight of 8,149 pounds. As such, it would be a solid option for beginners, especially if your vehicle can only tow modest loads.

The North Trail line is distinguished by open, airy living spaces that allow for lively conversation and relaxed evenings. This is one of the smaller options, but the oversized windows promote a spacious feel, along with prime views of the outdoors.

The interior provides a sizable feast for the eyes as well. A front-facing master bedroom pairs the king-sized bed with a wardrobe and space for a washer/dryer. Along with the bed—which is still larger than you’ll find in most small travel trailers—the sleeping area contains a wardrobe, dresser, and overhead storage. A linen closet and radius shower can be found in the adjacent bathroom. From the trifold sofa, campers can enjoy either a flickering fire, or their choice of media on the nearby entertainment center. A slide-out offers additional theater seating and a table that seats four.

The kitchen contains a center island with three-burner range, as well as a huge sink, double refrigerator, microwave, and ample pantry space. We’re particularly fond of the way the front-facing kitchen is configured, as it doesn’t interfere with the rest of the living area. Take a closer look at the 333FKS if you prefer a bedroom that offers space to walk around in, as well as a larger bed.

However, Tiffin offers its customers a number of different customization options, making it ideal for those of you hoping to boondock. Let’s check it out in detail now. 

Super Cs are starting to become more common than simple Class Cs, and for good reason. They offer equal parts power and luxury, making them ideal for those of you searching for a new and spacious type of RV. The Allegro Bay is designed with living space in mind.

Even though it only offers two floor plans, you can get a king bed as an option in either one. However, this does mean you have an additional cost from the get-go, as the king bed will not be included in the initial purchase price. It’s likely just a drop in a larger sea of additions that you will want, especially when you consider boondocking. 

Tiffin tries to set you up for success , especially when it comes to boondocking in this very large Class C RV. However, solar prep and panels are not included as standard features. You can get them installed by Tiffin, but keep in mind that it will not be included in your initial purchase price. 

One of the best additional features that you should consider for your Allegro Bay is that you can get an all-electric version. This eliminates the need for propane and gives you more freedom when it comes to boondocking. You also have an unlimited hot water heater and large holding tanks, which likely means you can extend your great trip. 

Most Luxurious: Newmar Super Star

Just like the past two options on this list, we have another luxurious Super C to take a look at. The Newmar Super Star is the most expensive option on this list, starting at $455k. While this price point may be outlandish for a number of RV shoppers, the Super Star offers a number of king bed floor plans. 

With 4 floor plans all offering king size beds, the sky’s the limit when it comes to choosing a Super Star floor plan that works well for you. There’s an option with a master suite, including an ensuite bathroom , or you can get a bunk bed layout for the kiddos.

It’s obvious that you are inside another class of motorhome when you step on board a Newmar Super Star. The interior design is intricate and stunning, with plenty of wood details and luxurious upholstery. Plus, the kitchen truly feels like it belongs in a residential condo or apartment. 

There’s a lot to love about this Class C RV for full-time living as well. You can get washer and dryer prep and all available for plans, and you can even add on a dishwasher should this be something you’re interested in. Plus, this Super C has an extremely high towing capacity and the diesel engine makes it more efficient than a gasoline one. 

Besides the price, you may not want this RV given the fact that it is quite large. This is truly like driving around a small apartment, given the size of its engine and the interior features. However, if you are looking for an absolutely stunning RV, the Super Star may be a good choice for you.

One of the best parts about the Isata 5 is the fact that it has an extremely private king bedroom suite. While there’s only one bathroom on board this RV, the king bed is located at the very back of the rig, with its own door and no other need for anyone to walk through in the night. 

The rest of this RV is open and spacious, with optional Theater seating or recliners, and a well-appointed kitchen. Arguably, the biggest fault in the Isata 5 is the fact that it doesn’t have a particularly inspired interior design, especially when you consider the price point of this RV. 

However, there’s still a lot to love about this particular Class C RV, especially when you consider the diesel engine and ample storage found both inside and out. You have a 10,000 pound towing capacity, making it easy to bring along whatever else you want. And the exterior storage gives you plenty of space for your bikes or kayaks . 

While it only sleeps up to 5, there’s still ample room for everyone to hang out inside, especially if the weather isn’t ideal outside. Plus, there are a number of upgrades you can make to make this RV feel even more comfortable, so long as you are okay going beyond the initial purchase price!

Jayco is here to prove that you don’t need a Super C in order to have a king bed on board. The Grayhawk offers a single floor plan with a king bed, though you can get it with theater seating or a larger refrigerator as an additional option. Overall, this floor plan works well for full-timers just as well as Weekend Warriors. 

While this rig can sleep up to 7 people, you should keep in mind that the only bathroom on board is located through the king bedroom. This may be an inconvenience for those of you looking for a floor plan with a more accessible bathroom , but having the ability to sleep so many people is also a plus. 

Overall, The Grayhawk has a lot of fantastic interior touches not offered by other options in this price bracket. You can find backsplash in the kitchen, wood detailing above your storage compartments, and much more. Jayco always offers its customers unique interior design, so this is a great perk for those of you who might be looking for it. 

The price point on this option is also fair, especially when you consider all of the warranties offered by Jayco. However, the single king bed floor plan may not work well if you need a bathroom with more separation from the bedroom! 

More Than One Bed: Thor Pasadena

However, at the end of the day, it may simply cost too much and be much larger than what you are looking for. If you are planning on camping with a number of people, or simply want a more spacious rig to live in full-time, then definitely check out the Pasadena.

Firmness is also something to keep in mind. “You can usually adjust the firmness of your mattress by adding more air or letting a little air out,” adds Benson.
