Double-Check Locations

At first it kept changing the location I was leaving. Then if I corrected the "from" location, it would change the "to" location! Double check your locations so you don't have to drive to a new city! But once I figured out to choose it from the drop-down menu instead of typing it myself, then it worked fine.

Navigating the journey to new heights

Navigating the online platform was like a glide in the park. Appreciate the ease of doing things. Feeling settled already. Thank you Grey hound - journeying to new heights.

Ease of searching for my destination

Ease of searching for my destination, clean bus, no noise, great customer service from the driver, and I like being able to select my seat when making reservations. I have been traveling via Greyhound for over 20 years. Keep up the great service.

My trip from Memphis to Atlanta went…

My trip from Memphis to Atlanta went very smoothly I did have to ask someone for my seat but other than it was great. Bus driver was very helpful. Trip from Atlanta to Memphis was horrible someone was in my seat on this trip had to ask them to move. Birmingham station was horrible security cursing passengers out, calling him stupid tell him to sit down like that. The seats on the bus were horrible. They were nasty.

Quick and easy!

The site is very user friendly. All options are available- round-trip or one-way, seat selection (even a "neighbor free" option), luggage limits/charges, and payment methods. Once payment was confirmed, I was given a Booking Number along with a confirmation email. The whole process only took a few minutes. I wouldn't hesitate to use it again, and I highly recommend it.

The driver makes the experience

Route US0799- The driver makes the experience and there is no one better at putting people first than driver Mr.Paul, Orlando, Fl based Greyhound Coach Operator. Patient, kind, respectful and responsive doesn’t even begin to describe where Mr. Paul shines. I almost don’t want to give too much away because he truly made us feel like royalty, and strangely some companies get jealous when their employees take better care of the general public than they could despite their resources and authority. That being said MY Greyhound experience was divine and touched by the hand of God. Mr. Paul did his job and made us all feel safe, protected, and valued. God bless you Mr. Paul. The world & Greyhound is a much better place with you in it, and you in the drivers seat. 🙂🫶🏽🙏💯

Not as bad as it's made out to be

Not as bad as it's made out to be. Maybe one of your buses will be a little late on pick up but once you're on the bus you can expect to arrive at your destination. All passengers just want to get to their destination and mind their own business for the most part. At night the terminal doors a locked to everyone but customers. It's not some first class, super elegant experience but it enables travel for less than an airline in many cases.

Revisting Greyhound Bus travel after many years.

My first Greyhound bus travel since college days...many years ago. Overall, my round trip was restful and informative; seeing small towns now bypassed by Interstate highways. Even the transfer period was pleasant, as food, facilities, and rest areas were provided in spacious surroundings, with knowledgeable customer service. People were very helpful, especially the students.

Hi, Sarah. We're thrilled to hear that your first experience with us was such a positive one! We aim to provide a pleasant and peaceful trip for our passengers, and we're glad we could deliver that for you. We look forward to welcoming you on board again soon! -LR

Dallas station and Austin station

Dallas station and Austin station has a work force mired with people that have no compassion for their fellow man. I can't speak for everyone that works there but Lester who was in charge at Dallas on April 9th at 2pm when I was there treated me like a red headed stepchild and had no desire to attempt to correct a problem his staff created. They need to change the culture at both those locations.

I wish I could buy multiple tickets at once. I have to book several trips and it is annoying that I have to check out for each ticket. Also, the service fee should just be shown in the price since there is no option to get out of it.

Hi, Sicara. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We'd definitely share this information with our team for their further review. -LR

Flix/Greyhound untrustworthy thieves

Greyhound removed my paid for, reserved seats and tried to stick me at the back of the bus without compensation. I booked double seats because I am a large person and did not want to infringe on anyone else's travel. This cost me incredible stress for the duration of the trip because I was terrified that I would be removed from the bus because of my size . Customer service was completely unhelpful, and the feedback line which promised assistance within 24 hours was a lie. They still have not contacted me 3 days later. I do hope I never hear from them because I will never trust greyhound or Flix again for my travels.

Overall, I had a great experience riding Greyhound. The driver arrived and departed on time, it was the week after Easter and it was mid-week(Thursday)so the bus was not crowded. The Atlanta bus station was clean and security was visible. I never saw the inside of the Savannah bus station because they were closed when we arrived at (8:05pm) so we had to sit outside and wait for our ride. Unfortunately our bus had no WiFi service but the ride was comfortable and the bus was clean. Thinking of doing it again soon.

Very unprofessional on every level

Very unprofessional on every level. From information to where to access the bus. At least 6 people including myself lost money and didn’t get to their destination. Flex / Greyhounds platform is bad for travelers.

I always buy online tickets

I always buy online tickets. Very convenient, cheaper, easy and faster. I didn’t know there is an office on periférico Reynosa

Doesn’t deserve any stars…

Doesn’t deserve any stars the driver didn’t have control of her buss or any of the passengers she didn’t respect the pre selected seats and didn’t help in feeling safe. Couldn’t even close the main baggage compartment which appeared to look easily compromised. Had she checked for tickets for pre seating at the beginning a lot could have been avoided. Didn’t seam to be aware or care about our safety at all.

Didn't see the buttons for senior…

Didn't see the buttons for senior discount or Veterans Advantage, had to pay full price. That's a bummer.

Hi, Raymond. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts, please note that senior discount is no longer available and if you are active, retired military, or veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces: Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, or current and former members of the National Guard or Reserve, please Sign up for the WeSalute+ benefits program to take advantage of over 400 exclusive discounts and offers. Don’t dare get off during break stay on bus

Driver needs to honk before bus leaving so you have a chance to run out to get on, I was left stranded in ellendburg and never retrieved my bags carry on and underneath suitcase . Never to be seen again . Created a royal mess for me I had all my keys house and car important papers court papers. Medication what a night mare. I will never ride the bus again or recommend . Greyhound and fix bus every number they have goes out of country to the same call center and they all just referred me to a web sight .

Night bus from Pokhara to Kathmandu

Jagadamba Travels (see website) has a luxury tourist night bus to Kathmandu that leaves from Hallan Chowk in Pokhara (in front of Swissa and the Tibetan G.H.), which means that you don't have to go by taxi to the bus park. Tickets can be booked at numerous places, with slightly varying prices. I paid 1300 NRs at the big email-One Internet Cafe at Lakeside, near Lalupate Marg. The bus is a 26 seater, with onboard toilet, reclining seats/foot rests, blankets, pillow, evening and morning snacks, and water/tea. The bus is supposed to leave at 8pm, but it didn't arrive until 8.20pm, left 10 minutes later, and after a couple more stops, finally left Pokhara at about 9.15pm. There was only one tea stop for 15 min at 12.30am. The bus arrived somewhere in Kathmandu just before 4am, but then it parked for almost 1 hour, before going the last 10 minutes to arrive in Balaju just before 5am (but stopping on the main road, not at the bus park). The taxi louts were lined up and waiting like vultures, asking 500 Rs for a 5 minute ride to Thamel. A lot of people walked the 20-30 min distance. I bargained and paid 300 Rs for only myself to get to Paknajol, which adjoins Thamel. The bus could just as easily not have stopped, but could have continued to Sorakhutte, next to Thamel, where many buses go. That would make it easy to just walk a short distance into Thamel. Maybe they have some deal with or kickback from the taxis. If the bus did that and did not stop, it would also have arrived an hour earlier, around 4am. This night bus idea is a good one, if only it were managed properly - a good opportunity for another entrepreneur.

used to travel Kathmandu/Pokhara. Seats are amazing but due to no regular maintenance, seats and trays, buttons are in worst condition, do not operate properly. But the choice to travel with remains with these coaches because of the comfy seats.

We were travelling to Pokhara on the day of our 2nd anniversary- when we bought the tickets, we were shown our seats were side by side. But when we boarded, they made us sit on different seats even though another couple got on and sat together with the same seat numbers! On top of that, the seat I got had its air conditioning going all bizarre, told the attendant about this. All she managed to do was smile and go in the back and do nothing. Not a single sorry, not trying to help out in any capacity -nothing. Not worth the 2700rs. "Premium" service we were promised. Never travelling with this sorry excuse of an agency again, ever!

This should have been a really comfortable trip because the bus is the most comfortable kind on the route, having really plush seats in a 1/2 configuration. The seat in front of me was broken and would sometimes go all the way back so that it was resting on my armrests. Luckily I didn't have my arms there at the time! The power outlet wasn't working The wifi never worked (not that I had high expectations.) The driver was the sort you would expect to have on the lowest quality of buses, not the highest. He was reckless and really not good—an accident going somewhere to happen, I would say. I was relieved that it wasn't that trip. Most transportation companies only put their best drivers in the most expensive vehicles, so this was a shock. I hope he isn't the best they have. The bus features a girl in traditional dress who distributes water and is there in case you want to ask anything, but she wasn't able to help with much. Sweet girl, though. The lunch stop was OK, though I didn't eat most of the food. Still, it was an OK place with relatively decent toilets. I took the same bus a year earlier. The bus was in a bit better shape then but I still wouldn't have given it more than about 3.5 stars. I wanted the extra space, but next time I'll book a couple of seats on one of the other companies that charge much less.

9 Greyhound Bus Tips You Need to Know Before You Travel

All aboard!

greyhound travel (bus stop) kathmandu reviews

For long trips, many would argue that flying is not only quicker, but the view from the sky is so much better.

However, along with that aerial view, comes congested airports, delayed flights, and the dreaded middle seat. Throw in rising airfares, long lines at the security checkpoint, and sketchy in-flight Wi-Fi, and it's a wonder any of us are still choosing to fly over driving. But there is another mode of transportation growing in popularity across many parts of the country—traveling by bus, or more specifically, Greyhound. Okay vacationers, before you rule out reaching your destination on the "Dirty Dog," hear us out: Greyhound is a lot cheaper and, depending on where you're going, faster. There's also free Wi-Fi, and did we mention no TSA? You're welcome.

As someone who has made both short and long-haul trips using Greyhound (I'm talking 20-hour road trips, y'all!), I'm not only making the case for traveling by bus, but I'm also sharing the things you should know to make it a less tedious and safer experience. Hey, it certainly beats spending hundreds of dollars on a plane ticket and having no legroom, right? Here, nine tips for your next great adventure on the open road —er, um—bus:

1. Book your tickets early.

Although it's not the norm, there are a few bus stations that operate like airlines, in that you board by the number on the ticket. If this is the case for the station you're departing from, the earlier you purchase your ticket, the lower your boarding number and cost. A low boarding number also guarantees first dibs on a good seat. Keep in mind, Greyhound has three different fare options to choose from, such as "Economy," "Economy Extra," and "Flexible," and you can also choose an express bus that provides quicker, non-stop service, with fewer (or no) transfers.

2. Arrive at least an hour before departure.

If it's your first time on a Greyhound bus, allow yourself enough time to get checked in and find your gate. On weekends and during peak travel season, this process may take longer, so arriving an hour before gives you more wiggle room.

3. And, get in line as quickly as possible.

Once the station attendant announces that the line for your bus is forming (provided that you're not restricted to a boarding number), make a beeline towards the front. As with any form of transportation, where you sit can make all the difference in your trip. And those passengers who board first have their pick of the seat litter. Trust me, you don't want to spend hours on a bus next to a crying baby.

4. Make your luggage stand out.

Bags are positioned under the bus, and without an identifying marker, design, scarf, or luggage tag, it's hard to tell one black suitcase from another. Placing something on your bag or choosing a brightly-colored suitcase will help you to easily find luggage when you have to switch buses for transfers.

5. Sit at the front.

You'll have a better chance of having two seats all to yourself, since everyone else will, undoubtedly, be heading towards the back of the bus. Personally, I prefer the front because it makes me feel more safe to be closer to the driver. Not to mention, you can make a swift exit when seated near the front, making it easier to get off and grab your luggage just in time for the next transfer.

6. Try not to use the bathroom.

Do we even have to explain this one? Get your bathroom breaks in before boarding and when the bus stops. At least the restrooms at the stations are cleaner, and you have the privacy of a bathroom stall. As a general rule of thumb, I try to eat lighter and limit my water intake.

7. Follow the driver's rules during stops and transfers.

Sure, you haven't had to follow the rules on a bus since you were a kid, but each Greyhound driver has their own set of restrictions to make the ride safer and more enjoyable. During stops and bathroom breaks, the instructions usually involve what time to be back on the bus, what you can and cannot bring back on the bus, and where to go for food.

8. Keep your carry-on bag and ticket with you at all times.

Guard your purse or carry-on with your life. There's no overhead bin or storage like there is on a plane, so if you leave anything on the bus during stops, you run the risk of it being stolen. For that reason, I tend to go for a smaller bag or backpack that's easier to take on and off the bus. And you'll need to show your ticket every time you board the bus, so make sure you have it at the ready.

WATCH: How to Pack for a Weekend Trip

9. For your safety, stay inside the bus station at night.

Unless your trip is short, you will have layovers, and most of those stops will be at night. No matter how much you want to explore, it's best to stay inside the Greyhound station. Also, make sure you've already made arrangements to be picked up once you arrive at your final destination.

Just do it!!! Bus is way to go for easy and relaxing travel.

Prompt. Easy. Just do it!!! I've driven and traveled train, but bus via Greyhound (especially their Barron's Bus contractor) is simple, on time and convenient. I just show up 15 mins before departure, board and can rest/work on laptop/relax all the way. I also really appreciate the stop along the way for a walk and/or drink/food. I have never had any issues on the 12+ trips taken on the bus and only wish MORE people would jump on board.

I made this reservat for my dad and went wrong

I made this reservat for my dad, who doesn’t speak english. He was dropped off and waiting at the address PHX Sky Train - 44th St Station About 30 min before departure, There was nobody in there No personal, no people, This made ua very frustrated and scared because he was on his own, in a place he doesn’t know anyone. He needed to take this bus Because he needed to take another one at his destination. nobody was able to give him reasonable directions. They sent him back to the airport And spent over 80$ dollars extra because of this. Had to rebook with another company, TUFESA. He never found the “greyhound”/ beeline grey line flix bus. The only flixbus he saw wasn’t able to take him. I tried contacting you and your staff was extremely rude to close the conversation with me when i hadn’t even explained what was going on. There was no clear directions anywhere. And no one was around. He felt scared he wouldn’t make it home. I’m requesting a refund for the inconvenience we where given.

I’m so sorry I didnt know about flix bus at the time because I definitely wouldn’t travel with greyhound! Imagine I spend $436 for my trip and couldn’t even get WiFi. They only provide you with free 100mbs of WiFi that finishes in 3 minutes after connecting, after the free 100mbs you have to pay $5.99 for 300mbs which finishes in 10 minutes after connected! I spend so much money for a ticket and still have to buy WiFi! Flix bus is free WiFi, bus is clean and on time ! I would never book with greyhound again !!!!
