Horrible service from Kiki. I heard her talking bad about customers and she was extremely rude to me. She has a tone in which it is as if she is judgmental and hateful. I wanted to do a return and the entire situation was rude and disrespectful. I work In customer service as well so I tried to remain composed while smiling and saying thank you but still she was just rude. I believe she is a manager. Imagine being a manager but being disrespectful to customers. The other workers are nice though steer clear from Kiki

I came here yesterday in search of new shoes, a cross body bag, and a backpack. I started off here, decided to walk around the mall, and Icame back after my search else where was unsuccessful. I ended up purchasing items that I normally wouldn't- I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone. I bought some really cute Pumas with cheetah/leopard (?) print, an adidas backpack, and an adidas cross body bag. Inventory: There is definitely room for improvement. I am 30 years old and have a small foot (4.5-5 youth). I was looking for workout shoes and there was definitely a lack of selection in my sizes. Like I mean, they only had one shoe that I liked and was in my size. I was getting desperate since other stores also lacked my sizes, but I was so happy with the Puma's that I purchased. They were comfy! Service: Although they didn't have many shoes in my size (a 4.5-5 youth) I decided to leave this review for the amazing service that I receive. When we came back the second time the staff at the store recognized us and asked if we were there earlier and immediately started to help us grab small backpacks that were high up. As I said previously I was looking for a small back pack as well. I wasn't sure if my 32 oz hydro flask would fit in the bag that I was looking it so the staff member brought there's for me to use to see if the dimensions would fit mine. It was a small, but kind gesture. I looked around and asked for multiple shoes in multiple sizes and the employees here all seemed so happy to help. Overall: It would be amazing if they had a larger selection of shoes in youth sizes, but since the service was back I will be back the next time I'm looking for some shoes. Thank you all again! Keep up the amazing work and kindness. I appreciate you all.

TLDR; Anisa was great, customer service has always been on par when I visited! This review is for Anisa (saw her name tag) specifically. She was absolutely wonderful, helping us with our exchange while assisting other customers in the store. She made sure the shoes I tried on fit well before exchanging them, especially because sizing on docs are odd. Since they were my first pair, she gave me some tips on how to break them in. We were in and out within 10 minutes! A couple weeks prior, I had come in to try on a pair of docs JUST to get a feel of the sizing. A young gentleman helped me and brought out a ton of sizes, but I didn't catch his name! He didn't pressure me into buying anything but was very helpful&friendly as well.

Exchanging a pair of vans I ordered online. Unfortunately they were a little big. John C. was super awesome in helping me get another pair. Had to get em online cuz didn't have my size in store. Super helpful staff here that doesn't want you to leave until your completely happy. Hopefully the new pair will work for me. If not I'm sure they will do what needs to be done to have another satisfied customer. If you value customer service skip the Vans store and come here.

Good selection of Vans

Great location by the food court over in the Westfield Valley Mall. Subpar customer service. If you've ever been to a Journey's you know what to expect. It's a small shoe store that sells a bit of an assortment of shoes from boots, to running shoes, to sandals, and more. I came in here to get some Doc Martens because it's hard/rare to find a stand alone Doc Marten store or find more than a few of them in a department store. While Journey's tend to have the largest selection of Doc Martens outside of their stand alone, it seems to be a hit or miss by location on what they actually carry and the sizes. It has been a while since I had been to Journeys, almost a decade to be exact, and I remembered why I stopped going to them again today.

Chantal was the worst , terrible attitude. This employee alone just ruined it for me and I won't come to journeys again after this experience. Chantal gave attitude when getting out the shoe size I asked for and she ended up giving me the display . Then when I decided I would purchase the shoe she pulled the display to sell . I asked for another pair rather than the display and she said it was all they had. I asked if another location had it or if she could check the back just in case. But Chantal didn't want to look and she asked the other employee and she also said no they didn't have anymore and didn't want to check the back either . Chantal said if I didn't want the display , "it's whatever you want to do." There was no one in the store except myself and my friends so she wasn't busy, and I even told her the shoes are a birthday gift so I wanted the shoes to be in great condition. But she just kept saying the same thing , " it's whatever you want to do." She seemed overall annoyed when I went in and asked for help since I did bother her while her and the other employee were talking. But I just wanted friendlier customer service since I am paying for an expensive shoe such as Doc Martens. I'm not confrontational, so I would rather just write my opinion here . If you want shoes I suggest just going to VANS, Converse and doc marten stores instead. Since these stores have employees that are required to have great customer service.

Just went to get my daughter her first pair of doc martens.They placed them on hold for me a high I appreciated.Both associates were extremely helpful.Tasha I think her name is was exceptional! I ended up buying two pairs.And her upbeat and cheerful attitude made me feel very welcome!!!! Great job girls

I walked in there trying to buy some crocs and the ladies who are working there were not wearing their mask and did not approach me or help me in anyway shape or form. They were just talking to each other with their mask OFF.

Went here to return a pair of shoes, I had been given the wrong size. The employee had told me she was unable to help me because they were "used" but I don't know how that's possible given I can't even physically fit the shoe on my foot. She tried to accuse me of lying when it was someone in their store who had clearly made a mistake. I've worked in retail before and we've been taught to never argue with the customer, I could understand if company policy can not honor a sale or refund. But this pair of shoes was clearly brand spankin new- never worn out of the box. You work for retail, so why take your job so seriously? Nothing is more agitating than bad customer service. I attached a picture of the shoes to exemplify the pair she told me was "used and damaged". Clearly there's not a single mark or scuff on these.

Went in to find shoes for a wedding today. Maria helped me and she was so wonderful! She asked great questions to lead me to the perfect pair of shoes and seemed genuinely happy for me when we found them! I will be back and hope to have her help me again!

Giving them five stars for great customer service! They didn't have the shoes we were looking for but the staff was super nice and was able to direct us to another store that would have it. Will definitely go here again!

The dark-skinned, male employee that rang us up is incredibly friendly! I’m sure the rest of the staff is too. Also, the store has a great selection and great prices, so I will most definitely be back.

2024 AEW Dynasty card, matches, start time, date, rumors, predictions, location

Dynasty takes place in st. louis on april 21.

The inaugural AEW Dynasty is a mission statement for All Elite Wrestling. The promotion heads to St. Louis on April 21 with a card that captures its renewed ethos. Dynasty showcases a lineage of some of the best in-ring professional wrestling in the world with the likes of Bryan Danielson, Kazuchika Okada, Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay in action.

AEW continues to ramp up its pay-per-view calendar with nine events expected this year. Dynasty debuts at Chaifetz Arena on Sunday with thousands expected to attend live. The marquee is something of a modern-day dream match between Danielson and Ospreay, two of the best in-ring performers in the business today. Their rivalry is built on just that, a desire to prove who is the best. It's not a groundbreaking storyline in pro wrestling but it rings especially true when you consider who is involved

Match quality is high on the Dynasty agenda. Eight championship bouts are scheduled for the 10-match card, including AEW world champion Joe vs. Strickland, continental champion Okada vs. PAC, women's world champion "Timeless" Toni Storm vs. Thunder Rosa and a ladder match to crown new tag team champion. Mercedes Mone (formerly Sasha Banks) will have a spiritual presence in the TBS title match and older fans might gravitate towards Adam Copeland (formerly Edge in the WWE) in six-man tag team action.

Take a look below at the confirmed matches for Dynasty. The event streams live on Bleacher Report and TrillerTV with the main card starting at 8 p.m. ET and the Zero Hour pre-show beginning at 6:30 p.m. ET.

2024 AEW Dynasty matches

AEW World Championship -- Samoa Joe (c) vs. Swerve Strickland: It seems to be a matter of if, not when Strickland becomes AEW world champion. Strickland experienced one of the biggest stock rises of any wrestler in AEW or WWE in 2023. His bloodlust and confident swagger were undeniable. Many expected him to win the title at AEW Revolution in March, but his bitter rivalry with "Hangman" Adam Page cost him the world championship in their three-way dance with Joe. It's a wrong Strickland looks to right one-on-one against "The Samoan Submission Machine." That's easier said than done against a champion that is equal parts cerebral, powerful, experienced and straight-up vicious.

Will Ospreay vs. Bryan Danielson: A match that personifies the Dynasty name. Danielson has long been considered the greatest technical wrestler, and arguably the best wrestler alive, for a long time now. Ospreay has painted brilliant in-ring performances against Kenny Omega, Kazuchika Okada and many others in recent years. Some consider Ospreay the future of pro wrestling. It's a question of whether the future is now when Ospreay and Danielson lock up for the first time.

AEW Women's World Championship -- "Timeless" Toni Storm (c) vs. Thunder Rosa: "Timeless" Storm has been a breath of fresh air for AEW as one of the most character-driven acts on the show. The throwback Hollywood star defends her AEW women's world championship against a no-nonsense former champion with legitimate mixed martial arts experience. Rosa competes for the women's world title for the first time since relinquishing it in 2022.

AEW Tag Team Championships -- Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood) (Ladder match): Darby Allin vacated the AEW tag team championships after he and Sting defeated the Young Bucks in Sting's retirement match at Revolution. That set the stage for a tournament to crown new champs. The Young Bucks and FTR advanced to the finals and opened up old wounds. AEW made a controversial decision to air legitimate footage of a physical altercation between now WWE superstar CM Punk and Jack Perry at AEW All In London that led to Punk's AEW termination. The incident was worked into a storyline for the upcoming tag title match. The Young Bucks presented the footage, claiming their concern for Perry split their focus in tag title loss to FTR in London. Whatever drama exists, these two acclaimed teams are expected to put on a show-stealer on Sunday.

AEW Continental Championship -- Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. PAC (Continental Rules match): This will give Ospreay vs. Danielson a run for its money. Okada signed with AEW after a record-setting run in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Okada's 18-year tenure with the premier Japanese promotion saw him win five IWGP Heavyweight titles, including a record-setting single reign of 720 days, and become the only two-time IWGP world heavyweight championship. "The Rainmaker" immediately took the continental championship off Eddie Kingston in AEW and will make his first title defense on Sunday. The challenger PAC is an in-ring marvel with unrivaled intensity. PAC, the first double champion in AEW history, had his career stalled by repeat injuries and travel issues. Expect intensity and crisp impact when Okada and PAC collide. All continental title matches are contested under continental rules, meaning any outside interference is met with strict penalties.

TBS Championship -- Julia Hart (c) vs. Willow Nightingale (House Rules match): It's a meeting between AEW's most ominous champion and its pluckiest fan-favorite. Hart showed incredible growth last year by ditching her cheerleader gimmick and giving in to House of Black's sinister temptations. Her cult-like aesthetic perfectly contrasts Nightingale, one of the most likable personalities in the business. Nightingale is a force to be reckoned with inside the ring but she's impossible to dislike. Her gravitating aura makes her a natural underdog even when she has the power advantage. At stake for the winner is the TBS title and a big showdown with Mone at AEW Double or Nothing on May 26. The match will be contested under House Rules, a stipulation unique to House of Black champions. There are 20-second count-outs instead of 10, disqualifications are enforced with no rope breaks. The most interesting rule is "Dealers Choice," where the challenger gets to set one stipulation.

AEW International Championship -- Roderick Strong (c) vs. Kyle O'Reilly: Best friends meet with gold at stake. Strong and O'Reilly reached new heights alongside Adam Cole and Bobby Fish in the Undisputed Era. The group partially reunited in AEW; however, an injury suffered by O'Reilly got the ball rolling on the group falling apart. Cole and Strong later joined forces as The Undisputed Kingdom along with Matt Taven, Mike Bennett and Wardlow. O'Reilly's surprise return at Revolution toyed with the premise of him joining or opposing the group. The decision was made for him at AEW Battle of the Belts X. O'Reilly tried intervening as Strong and The Kingdom attacked Rocky Romero, spurring Strong and company to lay out their former friend. O'Reilly pursues vengeance and his first AEW title on Sunday.

FTW Championship -- Hook (c) vs. Chris Jericho (FTW Rules match): Hook is chopping down the learning tree. The FTW champ is not interested in Jericho's unsolicited advice. The former AEW and WWE champion has been trying to mentor the young prospect for weeks despite Hook holding a win over the future Hall of Famer. Bubbling friction boiled over after Jericho physically shoved Hook's dad, ECW legend Taz. Hook will defend the title that his father created in an FTW Rules match (no disqualifications) against Jericho.

Adam Copeland, Eddie Kingston and Mark Briscoe vs. House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King and Buddy Matthews): One of only two non-title matches on the show. Former AEW trios champions House of Black take on three of the promotion's most hard-nosed athletes. The House's issues with Adam Copeland are new as Malakai Black eyes Copeland's TNT championship. The House of Black has a bad habit of making enemies. That equipped Copeland with plenty of reinforcements. Kingston and Briscoe rushed to Copeland's side as they look to handle their own business with the trio.

*AEW Trios Championships and ROH Six-Man Tag Team Championships -- The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) and Billy Gunn (c) vs. Bullet Club Gold (Jay White, Austin Gunn and Colten Gunn) (c): The Bang Bang Scissor Gang is no more. The supergroup aligned against common enemies in The Devil and his henchmen, later revealed to be Adam Cole and the Undisputed Kingdom. Conflicting principles meant the supergroup was always on borrowed time. Bullet Club Gold turned on The Acclaimed and "Daddy Ass" after butting heads over White's assault on Allin. Their on-and-off rivalry culminates in a winner-take-all match for The Acclaimed's AEW trios championships and Bullet Club Gold's Ring of Honor six-man tag team titles.

* Orange Cassidy and Katsuyori Shibata vs. Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor and Lee Moriarty): After spending quite some time in Ring of Honor and on AEW Collision, Shane Taylor Promotions picked up a massive win on Dynamite recently over Shibata, Hook and Jericho. Taylor and Moriarty will look to keep the momentum rolling in a tag match against Shibata and Cassidy.

* Trent Beretta vs. Matt Sydal: Beretta recently broke away from the Best Friends faction and now sports a much more serious outlook. He'll likely take out his newfound aggression on Sydal.

Hello, and welcome to another edition of WMUR’s Adopt This Pet!

The Animal Rescue League of NH (ARLNH) in Bedford is hoping to find a forever-home for Journey.

Journey is a playful 4-year-old is mixed breed. Most likely she is a German shepherd mix, but she thinks she is a retriever. She's never met a bouncy ball or toy that she doesn't love to chase and bring back, and she waits happily for the next throw. If she does not have a ball, she still finds ways to play, for example she does zoomies in the yard, racing around like a goofball.

Journee first arrived at the shelter as a stray in November of 2023 when she was found on the side of the highway. A compassionate passerby stopped, and she decided to hop right into his car. Not knowing what to do, he brought her to the ARLNH, where the staff found out that she was pregnant!

Since nobody came forward as her owner, she was sent to foster care, where she had seven puppies, all of whom found their own forever homes in January of 2024. Since then, Journee has been searching for her own forever home.

As a retriever-turned-lap dog-turned-car-ride fanatic, Journey is a true gem. She gets along with children; in fact, she loves people of all ages and sizes and enjoys soaking up all the attention.

While Journee loves going for walks, she is still learning not to pull (her harness has been a big help).

Journee is quite anxious and overreactive with other dogs around. She would thrive in a more rural or sprawling neighborhood situation to help lessen her anxiety with other dogs. She would be best as an only pet in an active home.

Journee is just a good dog, and when you meet her, she’s bound to melt your heart!

An Oddly-Named Town In Tasmania Is The Setting For the Most Heartbreaking Netflix Film of the Year

Heartfelt character study A Journey follows three childhood friends on a voyage of self-discovery through Tasmania, where the production was filmed on location.

Essentially a road movie, the film explores some deep themes and goes all out to ensure you are emotionally exhausted by the time the credits roll. But of course, what’s a good road movie without picturesque locations?

The Filipino movie was always going to use authentic locations for the production, and much of it was shot in and around Manila. There are establishing shots of the busy motorways and the homes of our leads, before the trio of friends hit the road on their trip, with the journey leading to Tasmania in Australia.

Our cast hit the road in their RV and we see them on the road stopping in various locations before they get to their spiritual destination, the oddly named town of Penguin.

Instagram posts from star Patrick Garcia also shared some of the locations in Tasmania, including some from the town of Penguin, located on the North coast of Tasmania.

Extensive shooting took place in the small, beautiful community, which has a population of around 4100 people. Penguin launched an app in 2020 that allows visitors to peruse the local attractions.

Oddly, in one scene, you can see the town appears to have its very own Tardis from Doctor Who. The iconic blue police box is next to a sign that says Beach Access, but sports a heading that says “Penguin Library”, suggesting it may be full of books and not time travelers. It is spotted again in a nighttime scene too.

We see a motel called The Beachway, which is located in Ulverstone, Tasmania, and scenes were recorded at the Penguin Uniting Church that overlooks the beach and Bass Strait. Penguin Caravan Park is also used, as is Lane’s Supermarket, and the Penguin Country Bakehouse, Penguin Food Bar, and the Penguin Visitor Information Centre are also credited.

Who produced and directed A Journey?

A Journey was directed by RC Delos Reyes, and he has had a busy couple of years. In 2023, IMDb has him down as directing four features:  Swing, Unravel: A Swiss Side Love Story, Without You and I Love Lizzy. He has also written for television and has worked as a creative head on various other productions.

Reyes uses every trick in the book to ensure there is not a dry eye in the house by the end of this movie.

Who is the surprise cameo in A Journey?

In the third act of the heartbreaking film, a singer appears to sing a song for Shane. Bryan had arranged for the singer and TV personality Ogie Alcasid to sing to Shane, and the personality was cast in the film, no doubt delighting fans.

Ogie has had a long career, releasing his first album in 1989, and making his feature film debut in 1990’s Feel Na Feel . He went on to further TV work, including becoming a game show host and a judge on a TV talent show.

Do I need to have a driver’s license to rent a car from Hertz Car Rental - Santa Clara - Walsh HLE?

A valid driver's license issued from your state or country of residence must be presented at the time of rental.  The driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period. If the driver's license is in a language other than English, and the rental is in the United States, an International Driver's Permit is recommended. In all cases, a valid driver's license issued from your home country must be provided, whether or not you possess an International Driver's Permit.  You will not be allowed to rent a Hertz vehicle with only an International Driver's Permit.

International customers renting in the U.S. are also required to present a valid international-issued driver’s license at the time of rent and a valid passport in the same name, as a second form of identification.

Mobile/Digital Driver License

A mobile or digital driver’s license does not replace a valid physical driver’s license and Hertz customers will still need to supply their hard copy license until further notice.

Rental of a 15-passenger van in California requires a commercial driver’s license to transport a non-profit group or for commercial use. The commercial driver’s license requirement does not apply to personal use. 15- passenger vans may not be used to transport passengers for hire.

If renting in California:

Hertz provides no liability protection under the terms of the Rental Agreement to the renter from claims of injury by others against you resulting from an accident. Your personal/business insurance may cover your liability. Exceptions : Hertz will provide primary liability protection up to the statutory minimum limits to international customers (driver's license indicates an address outside the USA) renting in California. Please also refer to Liability Insurance Supplement (LIS) below.

If renting in Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, South Carolina, Virginia, or West Virginia:

Upon signing the Rental Agreement, Hertz provides primary liability protection. However, such protection is generally no more than the minimum limits required by individual state law. See Financial Responsibility Limits by State.

If renting in any other state in the U.S.A.:

Hertz' liability protection is secondary to any other insurance coverage available to you. If you do not have liability insurance and/or the limits of liability of the insurance coverage available to you are not sufficient to cover claims by others against you, and Hertz, as the vehicle owner, provides liability protection due to an accident, you will indemnify Hertz for any and all payments made.

However, Hertz makes available additional liability protection, which is primary, if the optional Liability Insurance Supplement, LIS, is purchased.

Liability Insurance Supplement (LIS)

Liability Insurance Supplement (LIS) provides coverage for you and other authorized operators of your rental vehicle for third party claims.

LIS is primary protection to customer’s personal policy and provides the first $1,000,000.00 of combined bodily injury and/or property damage protection for each occurrence regardless of the state in which the accident occurs. On rentals in California and Florida the maximum combined single limit is $2,000,000.00 for liability protection only.

LIS provides up to $1,000,000.00 of Uninsured/Underinsured protection for bodily injury sustained while driving the rental vehicle.

There are some exclusions to this coverage, which we feel you should know. Under LIS, in the event of an accident, you will not be protected for third party liability:

• If LIS is not accepted at commencement of the rental or if you fail to pay the charges for LIS.
• If you or an authorized driver operated the rental vehicle in violation of the Rental Agreement, including, but not limited to, operating the vehicle while legally intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other absorbed elements; permit the use of the vehicle by anyone other than authorized operators; for purposes that could properly be charged as a felony, to tow or push anything, or in a speed contest or for driver training.
• If the vehicle or LIS coverage was obtained by fraud or misrepresentation.

LIS is third party liability coverage only, except where permitted by law or pertaining to Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist Coverage . LIS does not cover personal injury to you or any authorized operator of the rental vehicle or to your or their family members who are related by blood, marriage or adoption and reside in your or their household.

Loss Damage Waiver (LDW)

In most states, in the event of any other loss or damage to the car, regardless of fault, your financial responsibility extends to the full value of the car at the time of rental, less its salvage value, plus expenses for towing, storage impound fees, an administrative fee and a reasonable charge for loss of use. If your responsibility differs in the state in which you rent, it will be stated in Paragraph 4, of the Rental Agreement. In California, in the event of any loss or damage to the car regardless of fault, your financial responsibility will in no event exceed the fair market value, plus actual charges for towing, storage, impound fees, and an administrative fee. In California and Nevada, your responsibility for loss or damage to the car from vandalism unrelated to theft will not exceed $500.00 in California and $2,500.00 in Nevada and you are not responsible for theft, regardless of purchasing LDW, unless the theft results from your fault.. In Illinois, your responsibility for loss or damage for any cause other than theft is limited to $15,500.00. Loss or damage related to theft is limited to $2,000.00, unless the theft results from your fault.  In New York, your financial responsibility shall not exceed (i) the actual and reasonable costs that Hertz incurs to repair the car, including costs for towing, storage and impound fees or that Hertz would have incurred if the car was repaired or (ii) the fair market value of the car immediately before the damages occurred, as determined by the applicable market for the retail saleof the car less disposal proceeds. Your responsibility for theft of the car shall not exceed the reasonable costs incurred by Hertz for loss due to theft up to its fair market value, if it is established that you or any authorized operator failed to exercise reasonable care or aided or abetted in the theft. 

• However Hertz offers Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) an optional service, which for an additional daily charge relieves you of all financial responsibility for the loss or damage to the rental car, whether or not you have insurance to cover such damage, provided the car is used in accordance with the terms of the Rental Agreement.
• The cost of LDW may vary depending on location or car type and is charged per each full or partial day of rental.

F.Y.I. – You are under no obligation to purchase LDW or any other optional service as a condition of rental. Your own personal insurance may provide protection for loss or damage to the rental vehicle depending on the state in which you live and the type of policy you have. Also, various credit card companies provide cardholders with some degree of damage protection providing you use their credit card for the rental and decline the optional LDW offered by Hertz at time of rental. The coverage and limits vary. Your policy or credit card coverage should be thoroughly checked for the specific terms and conditions associated with rental vehicles. Remember, most credit card insurance is supplemental, which means it will only reimburse you for loss or damages over and above what is covered by any other insurance you may have and will not cover you for any damage, regardless of cause, if you accept LDW.

Adding LDW after car is on rental: You may not change the option once the rental has begun, without returning the car and starting a new rental agreement.  This will result in the contract being closed out and charges being assessed for the time the vehicle is kept at least 1-day minimum, and a new rental contract will begin.

Cancellation of LDW - New York rentals only:

On New York rentals only, LDW may be cancelled at no charge, within 24 hours of its purchase provided the renter (i) has rented the car for 2 or more days; (ii) appears in person at any Hertz rental location with the car, which shall be subject to inspection.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI), offered in combination with PEC, allows you to elect accidental death and accidental medical expense coverage for yourself and your passengers during the rental period of the vehicle.  

PAI coverage:

Total benefits for any one accident are limited to $225,000.00 and are payable in addition to any other coverage for which you or your passengers are eligible. However, your benefits provided by other coverage may be affected by the PAI benefits. Rentals originating in the State of Mississippi do not have a single accident limit of $225,000.00.

If this coverage is accepted, the benefits for you apply to all accidental injuries during your rental period, regardless of whether you are actually in the car. Your passengers are also covered, but only for incidents occurring while they occupy the Hertz rental car.

Benefits are not paid for any loss caused directly or indirectly by:

The renter shall be deemed to have converted the rental vehicle whenever the rental vehicle is not returned to Hertz by the return date or by the extended return date. This is a summary only and other restrictions may apply.

Personal Effects Coverage (PEC)

Personal Effects Coverage (PEC), offered in combination with PAI, is an option that insures against risk of loss or damage to help protect your personal belongings while renting from Hertz. By electing PEC you will be insured throughout the entire rental period. PEC is insurance protection and pays in addition to any other policy you may have (such as a Homeowner’s policy). However, your benefits provided by other coverage may be affected by the PEC benefit. PEC insurance coverage includes those personal effects owned by you and those members of your immediate family traveling with you during the rental period who are permanent residents of your household. PEC does not extend to non-family members traveling with you.

PEC applies to personal effects only and not to car equipment. The following are examples of items NOT covered by the PEC:

• Automobiles and their equipment, motorcycles, boats, motors or other accessories, add-ons, instruments)
• household furniture, currency, coins, stamps, deeds, bullion, securities, tickets, documents
• CB radios, radar detectors, guns, merchandise for sale or fine art
• Contact lenses, artificial teeth and limbs
• Perishables

Personal effects not covered loss by mysterious disappearance, nor does it cover::

• Loss or damage caused by wear and tear, gradual deterioration, moths, vermin, inherent vice or damage sustained due to any process or while actually being worked upon and resulting there from, or while in the care, custody or control of any common carrier.
• Loss by nuclear reaction, radiation or radioactive contamination.
• Loss caused by any act of war.
• Loss or damage due to theft unless reported by Police.

Also, PEC does not cover:

• Loss caused by war or any act of war;
• Loss by nuclear reaction, radiation or radioactive contamination;
• Any loss or damage sustained to property while in the care, custody or control of any common carrier;
• Loss or damage due to theft unless reported to Police.

If loss or damages occur, completion of claim form must accompany claim. Forms are available at all Hertz corporate locations.

What if I return my car late to Hertz Car Rental - Santa Clara - Walsh HLE?

Vehicles returned 30 minutes late or more are charged for an additional part or full day, depending on the time of return (this is shown on your receipt in the 'Initial Charges' section). For vehicles returned more than 12 hours late an additional charge of $12 per day, up to a maximum of 5 days ($60), will also be applied (shown in the 'Service Charges/Taxes' section).

A high resolution, Digital Elevation Model was created from the images to provide critical information for rover drivers, who need to know how steep the hills are as they plan a path forward through this rocky terrain.

We look at England's Euro 2024 fixtures, as well as their potential route through the knockout stages.

England will face Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia in their Euro 2024 group next summer .

Gareth Southgate's side face a replay of their Euro 2020 semi-final against the Danes in Group C, having won 2-1 after extra-time in July 2021 before eventually losing to Italy in the final.

England's first game on Sunday June 16 sees them travel to Gelsenkirchen to take on Serbia, who finished second in qualifying Group G behind Hungary, and who they have not faced since their split with Montenegro in 2006.

They then take on Denmark four days later in Frankfurt before rounding off their group on Tuesday June 25 in Cologne against Slovenia, who they previously beat in a must-win final group game at World Cup 2010 to reach the knockout stages.

The Olympic Torch Relay Began in Nazi Germany

After a torch-lighting ceremony this week, the Olympic flame began its long journey from Olympia to Paris

Anticipation is building ahead of the Summer Olympics , which are set to begin in Paris in late July. But long-standing Olympic traditions are already underway: This week, the Olympic flame was lit during a choreographed ceremony in Olympia, Greece. The torch is now making its way to Paris, where it will arrive in time for the opening ceremony on July 26.

The history of the tradition is complicated. While it was inspired by ancient Greek practices, the relay was first held in Germany, where the Nazis employed it as a propaganda tool. Today, these dark roots are no longer associated with the event, which is meant to “represent the host country and the spirit of the Games,” according to the International Olympic Committee . The connection to ancient Greek traditions remains. 

At Tuesday’s torch-lighting ceremony, actors dressed in long black and white gowns gathered in front of spectators. Greek actor Mary Mina, who performed the role of “high priestess,” lit the torch in front of the ruins of the temple of Hera. (Traditionally, a parabolic mirror is used to kindle the fire by concentrating the sun’s rays. But because the weather was overcast, Mina used a backup flame from a fuel-filled torch instead.)

Mina then lit a torch held by Greece’s Olympic rowing champion, Stefanos Ntouskos. He passed the fire over to Laure Manaudou, France’s three-time Olympic medalist in swimming, who then transferred it to Margaritis Schinas, vice president of the European Commission.

From there, the flame began its 11-day relay across Greece. This will end on April 26 at Athens’  Panathenaic Stadium , which hosted the first modern Olympics in 1896. After spending the night at the French Embassy in Athens, it will be carried onboard the Belem , a three-masted ship that dates to 1896, for a journey across the Mediterranean.

It’s scheduled to arrive in Marseille, France, on May 8. The next day, a runner will take the flame to the top of the Velodrome stadium, according to Reuters ’ Karolos Grohmann. From there, the torch will go on a 68-day relay through France, ending in Paris at the start of the Games.

While simply lighting the torch in Paris would be easier, the “pageantry at Olympia” provides an “ineluctable link between the modern event and the ancient Greek original on which it was initially modeled,” as Nicholas Paphitis writes for the  Associated Press .

The ancient Olympic Games began in 776 B.C.E. in Olympia. They took place every four years until around 393 C.E., when they were banned by the Roman emperor  Theodosius I , a Christian who viewed them as a type of pagan celebration. 

But while the torch-lighting ceremony draws inspiration from ancient Greece, its history is more closely connected to Nazi Germany . In 1931, the International Olympic Committee awarded the upcoming 1936 Games to Berlin. When Adolf Hitler became Germany’s chancellor in 1933, he initially didn’t want to host the Summer Olympics, describing the Games as “an invention of Jews and Freemasons,” according to  History.com . He later changed his mind when he realized the Olympics would shine an international spotlight on the Nazi party.

The torch relay was the brainchild of  Carl Diem , the primary organizer of the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, who imagined a parade of more than 3,000 runners carrying a flame from Olympia all the way to Berlin. Diem was not a member of the Nazi party—but the Nazis made his vision a reality.

“Whether or not Diem meant it to, a torch relay fit neatly within Nazi propaganda,” wrote Max Fisher for the Atlantic in 2012. “Beginning the relay in Greece and ending it roughly 1,500 miles away in Berlin reinforced the idea of a shared Aryan heritage between the ancient power and the new one.”

Director Leni Riefenstahl filmed the lighting ceremony on July 20, 1936, for a propaganda film called Olympia . However, she was unhappy with the ceremony’s aesthetics and staged a second one after the Games ended.

The ancient Greeks performed similar rituals at other events but did not stage a torch relay for the Olympics.

“To the ancient Greeks, fire was a sacred element, and perpetual fires were maintained in front of their main temples,” according to  Olympics.com . “During the ancient Olympic Games, a flame burned permanently on the altar of the sanctuary of the goddess Hestia; additional fires were lit at the temples of Zeus and Hera.”

The modern torch relay, meanwhile, has evolved over the years. Since its debut in 1936, the torch has embarked on increasingly complex journeys. It reached the  summit of Mount Everest in 2008, and it even went on a spacewalk outside the International Space Station in 2013.

PITTSBURGH — When Cam Booser entered his first game with the Red Sox on Friday night, it marked the first time in nearly 77 years that a player age 31 or older made his major league debut with the Red Sox (excluding Japanese players). It’s fair to wonder if anyone who has debuted for the Red Sox in the last eight decades has arrived with as wild of a backstory as Booser’s.

“It has been a long journey,” Booser said, “but it has been a good one.”
