From Italy to France with London

The France stops were great! The Italy portion was disproportionately short. London was good. Hotels were, understandably budget, but varied widely in quality. The tour guides were good, caring and prompt. The city guides were helpful but the London guide was superior! Would recommend this tour for the very active as there was longer distance walking as well as steep bus steps! Good tour overall for the family!

London to Rome Highlights (8 Days)

Tour was really good. And I would like to thank Annerieke the tour guide and driver Marco who really did a great job and I felt we are in safe hands. Only drawback is all the highlights are included in extras if we don’t opt them then I felt the tour cost is covering only accomodation and transport. If you could include Pisa trip and Eiffel Tower summit view trip would would be more better.

This tour was amazing! My only complaint was one hotel was far below the standard of the rest. I would Suggest including some of the excursions meals in the price as everyone loved them. Our tour director was a amazing! I will Definitely be using Cosmos again for another tour.

We had a fabulous time on our Trafalgar European Traveller tour. Pete, our Tour Director, was amazing with the knowledge he was able to share on each location that we visited. I would highly recommend this trip to everyone interested in European destinations

The Best of Europe Tour

The Best of Europe

Overall, had a good time on the tour courtesy of our experienced and friendly tour director Zsolt and highly-skilled driver Antonio. They were both very knowledgeable and friendly, providing many insights into the places we visited and lots of good humour as well. Despite a few unexpected issues during the trip, they worked extremely hard after hours to resolve them and ensure no disruption for the tour group. This was first tour my wife and I have done and we felt it allowed us to see a lot of Europe in a short period of time, with the trade-off being some very early starts and late finishes. To make the most of the tour, to will need to book the optional excursions as probably half the time on location is spent in some form of optional excursion. We found some of the local guides that are required to be used in Italy were not as good at leading the group as the tour director, leading to some confusion at times on the excursions. A few of the hotels felt a bit underwhelming in terms of location, food or broken amenities which could be due to the recent reopening from COVID but given we mostly were exploring throughout the days/evenings, the main issue with this was that some of the breakfasts were a little sparse. Altogether we found the tour quite enjoyable, with highlights for us definitely being Lucerne, Venice and The Isle of Capri. We would consider doing future tours with Cosmos, but given the pace of this tour and the amount of travel involved, we would likely pick shorter regional ones and do a few less of the optional night excursions to allow more time to self-explore.

  • In order to enter the United Kingdom, France, and Italy (plus Spain on the tour extension), U.S. and Canadian citizens need a valid passport with an expiration date extending at least six months beyond the date of reentry.
  • We recommend having at least one blank passport page for entry stamps.
  • Beginning in 2025, U.S. and Canadian passport holders must register for an  ETIAS travel authorization in order to enter many European countries.
  • Passport holders from over 60 visa-exempt countries (including the U.S. and Canada) will need to apply for an ETIAS travel authorization in order to visit 30 European countries. That means that even if you’ve previously traveled to any of these European countries without a visa, starting in 2025, you’ll need to get ETIAS authorization to visit them again. If you’re traveling to multiple countries with this requirement, you only need to complete the form once. All Go Ahead travelers are responsible for obtaining their own ETIAS travel authorization before departure. For more details, please visit our Help Center .
  • If you are not a U.S. or Canadian citizen, you must contact each country’s consulate for your specific entry requirements.
  • You can see the most up-to-date entry requirements for the destination(s) you’ll visit on tour by going to goaheadtours.com/entry-requirements and searching the code LPR.
  • Round-trip flights booked through Go Ahead Tours arrive in London and depart from Rome (or Madrid on the tour extension).
  • Transfers to and from the airport at your destination are included for travelers who have purchased their flights through Go Ahead Tours. Travelers who purchase their own flights may request airport transfers with Go Ahead Tours for an additional cost if they are arriving or departing on the standard day.
  • When you arrive in London, a driver from a private chauffeur service will be standing at the arrival gate with your name on a message board. If you do not see your driver, please be patient and stay in the arrivals area. They may be assisting another traveler who has also just arrived and will be back shortly.

Physical Activity Level

This is a moderate physical activity-level tour. You can expect casual walks and plenty of time to explore throughout the course of the tour.

Tour Pacing

This is a steady-paced tour. The pace of a tour itinerary considers how often you’ll switch hotels, the amount of planned daily activities, and how you’ll get from place to place. You can expect:

  • Most transportation by motor coach
  • Occasional transportation by train and commercial flight
  • About 1-3 hours of bus time daily

Walking, Terrain & Physical Requirements

  • Travelers should be prepared to walk 2 miles per day- this includes city streets, cobblestones, stairs, and hills.
  • Cobblestone streets can become slick when wet.
  • The terrain around the Roman Forum and the Colosseum includes inclines and uneven stairs.
  • Travelers should be healthy enough to participate in all included walks without assistance.
  • Please Note: Adding optional excursions may increase the total amount of walking on your tour.

Climate Considerations

  • In London, travelers can expect cool, cloudy, and rainy days throughout the year, with occasional heatwaves in the summer months (June-September).
  • In Paris, temperatures range from 40sF in winter to low-80sF in summer, with occasional heatwaves in the summer months (June-September).
  • In Rome, temperatures range from 50sF in winter to 90sF in summer.
  • For travelers on the Madrid extension, temperatures range from 50sF in winter to 90sF in summer.

Physical Activity & Tour Pace Questions

  • Go Ahead Tours and the Tour Director who accompanies your group are unable to provide special mobility or luggage handling assistance to travelers on tour. The responsibility of the Tour Director is to ensure the group enjoys a smooth and informative journey, and they can’t be relied on to provide individualized assistance to any one traveler.
  • This tour moves at a reasonable pace to avoid missing scheduled stops. The rest of the group cannot miss any scheduled activities because of the needs of an individual.
  • Due to the pace and physical activity level of this tour, mobility aids such as wheelchairs or walkers will be difficult to use and are not recommended. Please notify Go Ahead Tours before your departure if you plan to bring these on tour with you.
  • If you have mobility concerns or tour pace questions, please visit our Help Center or send a message to our Customer Experience Team. We’re here to help!
  • This tour includes various modes of transportation, including planes, trains, and motor coaches. Some modes of transportation will have raised platforms or steps and often not provide access to ramps or lifts.
  • A train ride from London to Paris and a flight from Paris to Rome are included in the price of your tour (the tour extension also includes a flight from Rome to Madrid).
  • All other included transportation on this tour is by private motor coach.
  • European train stations typically operate similarly to airports where security measures, such as baggage and body scanners, are common. Platforms are often spread out across large distances and require travelers to manage their luggage on escalators or stairs. Porterage services are not offered on train transfers and luggage storage on trains is extremely limited. Please keep in mind that trains may only be stopping at the stations for a few minutes; speed with loading and unloading may be imperative
  • Please note that our travelers are limited to one checked bag and one personal item per person due to storage limitations on motor coaches and other transfers, which include a train and flight.
  • Some airlines may impose additional charges if you choose to exceed baggage size and weight restrictions. Be advised that you are responsible for any baggage fees incurred on all flights.
  • Contact your airline(s) for baggage size and weight restrictions for your flights. Please note that your included on-tour flights may have more restrictive baggage limits.
  • Make sure you label your baggage and keep valuables, medication, and documents in your carry-on bag.
  • Travelers must manage their own luggage throughout tour as porters are not guaranteed. This includes at hotels, airports, and train stations.
  • Luggage storage on trains is extremely limited, and often requires travelers to lift their suitcases onto storage racks, sometimes above the seats.
  • We recommend packing lightweight, loose-fitting clothing that can be easily layered to accommodate varying temperatures, as well as a light jacket or rainwear.
  • A sturdy pair of walking shoes or sneakers is recommended for sightseeing.
  • You may want to pack dressier attire if you plan to visit a high-end restaurant or attend a special performance.
  • It is preferable not to visit churches or other religious sites with bare legs and shoulders (and entrance may be denied on this basis).
  • We recommend packing a reusable water bottle to cut down on single use plastic waste.
  • We recommend packing a universal adapter, as well as a voltage converter if you plan on using your own hairdryer or other device without a built-in converter.
  • We recommend packing your Insurance Card (from your primary insurance provider) in your carry on luggage.
  • Go Ahead handpicks every hotel to strike the balance of comfort, location, and local charm.
  • Accommodations are typically three and four star hotels.
  • All accommodations include a private bathroom.
  • Most rooms will include a safe for valuables.
  • Your hotels will have Wifi, but it may be limited to common areas.
  • Elevators in hotels are not guaranteed.
  • Some hotels on this tour require travelers to walk with their luggage a few blocks as buses cannot drop travelers off right out front.
  • Please be advised that the strength of the air conditioning in European hotels/buildings is often not as strong or as cool as what you might be used to in the U.S. or Canada.
  • We cannot guarantee that your hotel accommodations will have laundry services or facilities. We recommend checking directly with the hotel once they are confirmed about 30 days prior to departure.
  • Specific accommodations will vary based on your departure date.
  • Excursions are available for purchase prior to departure, and most excursions will be available for purchase while you are on tour directly through your mobile app for an additional $10 USD.
  • We recommend purchasing excursions at least 3 days prior to your tour departure. Please note some excursions have advance booking deadlines. Check your tour itinerary for more information to ensure you don’t miss the deadline to add them.
  • Optional excursions may be canceled on tour due to reasons like low enrollment, weather or unexpected closures. If an excursion you signed up for is canceled by Go Ahead Tours, you will be refunded the full cost of the excursion. Please note it may take up to 60 days for your refund to be processed.
  • Your Tour Director may offer their own optional excursions which can only be purchased on tour via cash (in local currency).
  • At least 60 days prior to departure, check with your doctor or healthcare provider for the latest updates and entry requirements, or visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's website at cdc.gov .
  • If you have dietary restrictions and/or food allergies, please notify Go Ahead Tours at least 30 days prior to your departure by logging in to your account and updating your traveler info. To update this information closer to your departure date, please contact our Customer Experience Team.
  • If you have medication that you take daily, be sure you have enough for each day of the tour as well as any possible delays encountered.
  • Most of our itineraries include headsets used during certain sightseeing tours so travelers can hear their guides or Tour Director. If you use an assisted listening device, such as a hearing aid or cochlear implant, please contact our customer experience team as we may be able to provide alternative solutions to best suit your needs. Please note that at this time not all our destinations offer headsets due to supplier limitations.
  • The water is safe to drink throughout your tour unless posted otherwise.
  • This tour includes 3 dinners. Included meals may be plated set menus, buffet or family style depending on the location. Dinners include one glass of beer, wine, or soft drink and water, coffee and tea.
  • Breakfast each morning is also included at the hotel and is typically buffet style with hot and cold options.
  • For traditional English fare at a reasonable price, try a pub meal of fish and chips or bangers and mash. Stilton cheese, steak and kidney pie, and Cumberland sausages are also worth a try. Sip afternoon tea with delicious finger sandwiches and scones at Harrods in London for the ultimate in English tradition.
  • Modern-day London boasts an array of diverse international restaurants. Popular options for the adventurous palate include Indian, Thai, Chinese, Indonesian, Greek, and West African cuisine.
  • For a picnic with French flair, stop at a small grocery store for cheeses, pâtés, cured meats, fresh-baked bread, and fruit. In the cities, sidewalk vendors are known for their steaming crepes, while mouthwatering pastries and hot café au lait beckon from cafes. In restaurants, the prix fixe option is a popular way to enjoy a set three- or four-course menu for a good price.
  • Although lunch is generally served from noon until 2pm in France, dinner is served from 7:30pm onward. Those wishing to eat earlier can stop at a cafe, where light entrées and sandwiches are available throughout the afternoon and evening.
  • Roman food is typically freshly prepared and varies depending on the season. Must-try bites include cacio e pepe (a simple dish of pasta, cheese and pepper) and supplí (a fried rice ball similar to Sicily's arancini).
  • For more authentic meals, try local trattorias, small restaurants set away from the main piazzas. A typical Italian meal includes wines and the occasional beer, followed by a few sips of after-dinner drinks like grappa or limoncello.
  • In Spain, on the tour extension, breakfast like a local with just a pastry and coffee. Then, tuck into a three-course lunch featuring a Spanish staple like savory seafood paella or grilled meat and fried potatoes. Dinner is less hearty than lunch and is served late, between 9pm and midnight. Snack on small plates called tapas any time of day.
  • At the conclusion of your tour, it is customary to offer your Tour Director and driver a gratuity in local currency. Please keep current exchange rates in mind.
  • We recommend tipping the equivalent of $10USD to $12USD per person per day for your Tour Director and the equivalent of $3USD per person per day for your driver.
  • If applicable, we also recommend the equivalent of $2USD per local guide.
  • Tips can only be paid in cash.
  • If you are traveling to multiple countries with different currencies and the same Tour Director, ask them what currency they prefer for their tip.
  • The cost of porterage is included in your tour price, and it is not necessary to tip baggage handlers.
  • You will use the Pound sterling in the United Kingdom and the euro in France and Italy (and Spain on the tour extension).
  • Better rates of exchange are usually available overseas, but you may choose to order some currency from your local bank to use when you first arrive.
  • We strongly advise that you take debit/bank cards and credit cards, which can be used to withdraw cash at local banks as needed.
  • You can use most debit/credit cards at ATMs on the international networks Cirrus and Plus, but make sure to check with your home bank about withdrawal fees.
  • Inform your bank and credit card company of your travel plans so that they won’t confuse your international purchases for fraudulent charges.
  • International banks and businesses primarily accept debit and credit cards that work with the EMV chip system. If you do not already have at least one debit or credit card with a chip in it, we strongly recommend requesting one from your bank prior to your tour.
  • Plan ahead and bring cash to tip your tour director, local guides, and bus drivers. We also recommend keeping coins in the local currency on hand, as some public bathrooms may charge a fee for use.
  • To ensure you feel prepared before traveling on tour, we strongly recommend you download the EF Go Ahead Tours mobile app. The app is free and provides important deadlines, entry requirements, your detailed itinerary, packing tips and more. You can also connect with fellow travelers through the chat feature in the app.
  • Wifi is available in most hotels, though some charges may apply.
  • There is no Wifi on any of the motor coaches.
  • Please contact your mobile service provider for information on roaming charges.
  • Your Tour Director will be leading your group throughout your journey. You will have the same Tour Director throughout your tour.
  • The role of the Tour Director is not only to provide information and context on the destinations you visit, but also to confirm services, coordinate inclusions, prepare each days’ activities and support travelers while on tour. As such, they must focus on the success of the group, and cannot provide individualized assistance to any one traveler.
  • One of the benefits of traveling with EF Go Ahead Tours is our on tour emergency support team.
  • Our extensive network of offices around the world, and our integration of ISO 31000: Risk Management Guidelines, help our dedicated 24/7 Emergency Service teams anticipate and address on-tour challenges in a flexible and iterative way.
  • This team supports travelers and Tour Directors using a combination of extensive training, simulations, incident response planning, and decades of experience to help manage emergencies if they arise, ranging from personal health concerns or injuries to major world events.
  • As needed, On Tour Support can facilitate additional support for travelers on tour, arrange assistance from outside specialists, and liaise with local and international authorities to help solve on-the-ground issues. In addition, the team is dedicated to supporting and facilitating communication between travelers and families in the event of an emergency while on the road or at home.
  • The United Kingdom is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Time (ET).
  • France and Italy (and Spain on the tour extension) are 1 hour ahead of GMT and 6 hours ahead of ET.
  • When it’s noon in New York, it’s 5pm in the United Kingdom and 6pm in France and Italy (and Spain on the tour extension).
  • When you travel with EF Go Ahead Tours, you’ll make a positive impact on the places you visit, and the people and animals you meet along the way. That’s because our three core Responsible Travel commitments—protecting the environment, supporting local communities, and promoting animal welfare—are at the heart of every tour we offer.
  • Travel, when done responsibly, can make an enormous socio-economic impact to communities. To maximize your impact, eat at locally owned restaurants and shop at local businesses. Ask your Tour Director to point out restaurants they recommend.
  • Prepare for your trip: be aware of the monetary norms such as tipping and negotiating in a market, learn about the destination’s forms of etiquette, and take some time to learn a few words in the local language.
  • When interacting with locals, make sure to ask people for permission before you take their picture, and approach cultural differences with empathy and an open mind.
  • EF Go Ahead Tours encourages our travelers to limit their waste while on the road, especially single use plastics. You can avoid single use plastics by packing your own toiletries, using electronic documents, and bringing a reusable water bottle and shopping bag. If you need to use plastics or paper, please recycle.
  • Environment: On this tour, we recommend the use of a reusable water bottle, as the local drinking water is safe for travelers. Your Tour Director can provide additional guidance on local water standards. Make sure to bring a reusable water bottle to cut down on single use plastics.

Best Time for Travel Peaks of Europe: The Alps to The Dolomites featuring France, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, and Italy

While just about any month is great to visit France, Switzerland, Austria, and Italy, there are a few prime times of the year for the Peaks of Europe  tour. Here are some recommendations from our destination experts.

Spring: Milder weather and fewer crowds in the shoulder season make spring a nice time to visit.

Summer: A great time for this tour is in the summer, with colorful, breathtaking scenery in every direction. It’s the busy season, so you’ll see lots of other travelers. While the weather can get quite warm, the Alps tend to be a bit cooler than the surrounding areas.

Fall: You’ll still encounter crowds through mid-October, but the weather is sensational.

Customizable Itinerary

London – arrive in london.

Welcome to the cosmopolitan city of London. Decorated with cobblestone streets, this iconic city along the banks of the Thames brings you meandering alongside iconic Parliament under the pointed shadow of the Elizabeth Clock Tower and the pealing bells of Big Ben. Your flight will arrive at Heathrow Airport, where your private transfer will greet you at customs. You will venture to your opulent accommodations in the heart of the city before having the remainder of the day at your leisure to relax in the prestigious ambiance of London.

What's Included:

London – Historical and Modern Streets

Your guide will meet you in the lobby of your accommodations as you step out for a day of exploration. The splendor of London will become more visible as you visit the British Museum. Your guide will take you next to St. Paul’s Cathedral, standing atop the city’s highest point. The dome stands 365 feet tall and was the tallest building in London from the 18th century until 1962. The pristine décor adds to the exterior majesty, all wrapped into the building’s historic charm, with the rest of the day free to wander the many neighborhoods of this iconic city.

London – History and Prestige

In the morning, your guide will meet you at the hotel and escort you out of the city to visit the mixture of charm and prestige from the world’s oldest and largest occupied fortress at Windsor Castle. The stately complex encompasses 13 acres and dates back to the 11th century. You will find the State Apartments accentuated by the sparkling chandelier of the Grand Staircase. The sister town of Eton across the River Thames will fill with the sounds of schoolboys traipsing the narrow cobbled lanes during class breaks as they stroll past antique shops and opulent art galleries.

Rudesheim – Delight in the Countryside

You will travel to Germany for an immersive view of enchanting Rudesheim. The colorful alleyway of Drosselgasse will embody the kitschy charm of the historic streets acting as a gateway into the Rheingau wine region. The flatlands will roll into the hills and mountains of the landscape. The vines will spread across the foothills and absorb the soil’s nutrients representing upwards of 2,000 years of history in the area. You can visit one of the celebrated vineyards of the region with a private guide to sample the sensational flavors of the Riesling captured in hints of Meyer lemon and pineapple.

Rudesheim – The Beauty of the Black Forest

In the German countryside, you will make your way into the Black Forest, home to the fairytales of the Brothers Grimm. The evergreen canopy will offer a pine aroma as you pass through the cuckoo clock capital of Triberg Village. you will continue to Rhine Falls where water trundles down 75 feet into the connecting river and stretches 450 feet wide. Boulders bisect the water. When you look down into the river, you can see the whitewater calming as it leaves the falls behind.

Lucerne – Traverse the Alpine City

You will reach the gorgeous city of Lucerne in the morning as it stands underneath the towering Mount Pilatus’s peak soaring up to 6,982 feet above sea level. The city retains a deep connection to its traditions captured in the cobbled lanes and timber-framed facades of Old Town. The skyline features nine towers set against the glacial waters of Lucerne Lake. You will venture out on a guided walking tour of the city that will take you among the aromas of chocolate and marzipan as you reach the admired Lion Monument.

Munich – Charming Innsbruck

You will travel through the mountains and cross the tiny country of Liechtenstein, which nestles into the Alpine valleys before reaching the welcoming ambiance of Innsbruck, Austria where the jagged summits of the Nordkette range add to the skyline. Innsbruck is located more than 6,560 feet above sea level and shines with lush alpine pastures and rugged mountainous borders.

Munich – A Bavarian City

Your guide will meet you after breakfast eager to introduce you to the fascinating culture and preserved history of Munich. The songs of the Hofbräuhaus will return to the cobbled lanes of the city’s historic center alluring visitors from around the world who are eager to raise a stein and sing along. Your guide will lead you alongside the colorful facades of the city center to reach the Glockenspiel in the enchanting square of Marienplatz. The clocktower possesses 43 bells and 32 performing figurines that tell the story of the 16th-century marriage of Duke Wilhelm V.

Munich – Continue Discovering Bavaria

The Baroque design of the Nymphenburg Palace offers a mesmerizing look at the grandeur of German royalty with gardens reaching nearly three miles in size. The opulent architecture dates back to the 17th century and remains the residence of royal descendants. You can find 38 portraits of attractive women decorating the walls of the former apartments representing the eye of King Ludwig I. The gardens have become a public park and continue to attract residents of Munich who job, stroll, and lounge in the English style gardens accentuated by a rumbling waterfall and a reflective lake hosting elegant swans.

Venice – Travel the Alps

You will leave Munich for Venice and replace the allure of the Glockenspiel with the romance of the winding canals. The scenic drive will reveal jagged mountain peaks until the steep slopes flatten and the rivers turn to the opulent city of Venice rising out of the eponymous lagoon. The marble paving St. Mark’s Square will glint in the waning with the bulbous Byzantine domes atop the basilica domes standing 141 feet tall and embodying the treasures of the city’s past and present. You will have an introductory tour of Venice and a fascinating exploration of the lagoon.

Venice – Touring Iconic Sites

Your guide will lead you to the Bridge of Sighs, an enclosed passage constructed with white limestone. Stone bars cover the windows. The bridge was constructed in the 17th century and connects the New Prison to Doge’s Palace. On the lagoon, you will visit the bustling island of Murano, which acts as a microcosm of larger Venice. You will visit with a local artisan to learn the historic art of glassblowing on the island, which dates back to the 13th century. The heat from the forge will fill the warehouse as you watch the artist shape the glass into a preferred vase, glass, or plate.

Rome – Stroll the Este Castle

The opulent memory of Venice will linger in the absence of the lagoon as you venture from Venice to Rome. The waters will disappear behind the emerald greenery surrounding the city of Ferrara in the region of Emilia-Romagna. Medieval walls continue to surround the town while magnificent palaces pepper the interior. The Castello Estense was constructed in the 14th century and originally meant to protect the Este family from the citizenry. The towers rise over the encompassing moat immersing you in the preserved medieval ambiance stemming from lush gardens and preserved walls for which the city is celebrated.

Rome – The Past of the Eternal City

In the morning, your guide will escort you on a private tour that unveils the ancient, medieval, and Renaissance layers of art and culture. The Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi was built in Piazza Navona in the 17th century, designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Representations of the four major rivers of four continents converge around a central Egyptian obelisk. Water trickles down from the stone platform into the shimmering pool. In the Vatican Museum, you will end your tour at the captivating Sistine Chapel, where the perspective of Michelangelo will burst into view with elaborate humanistic depictions of Biblical figures.

Tuscany – The Grandeur of Florence

Leaving the history of Rome does not mean that you are leaving history behind. You will arrive in Florence and surround yourself with the beauty of the Renaissance. The Tuscan capital winds through stone towers and over cobblestone streets. The Duomo rises over the square with a transcendent dome whose construction began in the 13th century. Brunelleschi designed the roof, which remains the largest brick dome in the world standing 376 feet tall. You will find how the marble tile becomes enriched by the faint scent of myrrh. A painting on the wall depicts the layers of Dante’s Divine Comedy.

Tuscany – Towns, Wines, and Cuisine

Your exploration of Tuscany will continue with a private cooking class highlighting the authentic flavors of the traditional cuisine. Your private chef will become your instructor who guides you through the steps of producing a multi-course meal resulting in the delicious aromas of handmade pappardelle pasta with a rich ragu and almond cookies for dessert. You will wander the streets of the preserved medieval town of Siena to find the marvels of a city once vying for power and prestige against Florence. The cathedral contains 56 marble reliefs decorating the floor that depict biblical and mythological stories.

Nice – The Leaning Tower of Pisa

After breakfast, you will transfer to the city of Pisa with your guide to reach the home to one of the finest universities in Italy that dates back to the 14th century. Your guide will lead you to the Piazza dei Miracoli where you will find the surprising image of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. The marble tower lists nearly four degrees from base to top and stands approximately 186 feet tall. You will see the cathedral in the background and find the exquisite marble façade checkered with narrow columns typical of Gothic Pisan design.

Nice – The French Riviera

The French Riviera is draped in picturesque history, sundrenched homes, towering seaside cliffs, and seductive beaches. The salty aroma of the ocean meets the scent of garlic, tomatoes, wine, and lavender. Olive groves carpet the inland countryside and the soft light around the coastline brought famous artists to the shores, from Renoir to Picasso. The opulence of Nice reflects the prestige of the Old World. Northeast of Nîmes, you will find the Pont du Gard, a three-tiered aqueduct that had belonged to a larger system of channels dating back to the year 19 BC.

Lyon – Old Town Avignon

You will meet your guide in the city and enjoy the eagerness with which they introduce you to the marvelous cultural legacy of the culture and architecture alongside the riverbanks. The city remains the heart of the Provence region with dramatic power dating back to the 14th century. Located on the left bank of the Rhône River, the city maintains its history as the second Vatican, home to seven successive popes. The Palais des Papes was constructed in the 14th century and remained as the papal seat for over 70 years. The walls are 10 feet thick.

Paris – Half-Day Louvre Tour

Lyon was once the banking stronghold of France and now is the country’s third-largest city. After breakfast, your private transfer will escort you to the train station for your scenic ride to Paris. After freshening up, you will join an excursion to the Louvre for a private tour of the museum highlights that offers images of classic artists and antiquity, from Leonardo da Vinci to artifacts from ancient Egypt. You will also discover the sophisticated marble statue of the Venus de Milo. The sculpture was carved in 2nd century BC in Greece and stands more than six feet tall.

Paris – Private Tour of Paris

Your guide will meet you at the hotel for a day discovering the indelible charms around the shimmering City of Light. Your guide will take you to view the Opéra and Arc de Triomphe, stroll down the Champs-Elysées and enjoy the picturesque view of the Eiffel Tower. The iconic image of Paris stands 984 feet tall and offers remarkable views spreading across the cityscape and winding banks of the Seine River. In the 19th arrondissement is the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont. The lesser-known park has lush, sloping grassy hills and a 100-foot waterfall dipping into a serene pond.

Paris – Departure

You will once again find the blissful aromas of chocolate brioche and frothy cappuccino filling the streets in the morning. Your fingers will feel the slightly sticky exterior of an almond croissant fresh from the oven at breakfast while sitting in a local café watching the locals pass by. Ireland, `the Emerald Isle`, offers some of the most beautiful landscapes and views in the entire world, from castles in ruins in verdant valleys to rocky cliffsides overlooking the Atlantic. It is a country that is fiercely proud of its native language and culture, and venturing outside the major cities, you will be able to view a more rural experience. This is most popularly achieved by driving the 111-mile Ring of Kerry in the western part of the country, or visiting the charming Gaeltacht where Irish is only spoken. But definitely do not discount the cities, home to charm, history, and great landmarks, such as the cosmpolitan capital of Dublin, and large cities such as Limerick and Cork.

American travelers cannot get enough of England, and to this day it consistently ranks in the three most popular European countries in terms of visitors per year. Nearly everyone visits London, one of the world`s most important cities and the epicenter of what was once a vast world empire, but England should definitely be explored in-depth, from the charm of the Cotswolds to the seaside resorts on the English Channel and the Irish Sea to the beautiful landscapes of the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, and the Westcountry. England is a country where the present day and over a millennia of history routinely intersect.
