There’s no need for Upstate New York outdoors enthusiasts to suffer from cabin fever during the winter months.

Upstate New York offers a number of great, outdoors-related indoor shows to spark one’s interest and to get psyched for the warmer months ahead.

Here’s 12 you won’t want to miss:

1. The Greater Niagara Fishing Outdoors Expo (Jan. 17-19)

When: 1 to 9 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday

Where: Conference and Event Center, Niagara Falls

Highlights: This "pure" fishing show is designed to be an event where attendees can spend a long weekend enjoying and learning about their favorite pastime. This year's show will feature more than 200 fishing seminars and 170 booths.

2. The New York Sportsmen’s Expo (Jan 24-26)

When : noon to 7 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday

Where: Exposition Center, New York State Fairgrounds, Syracuse

Highlights: A weekend of exhibits and seminars showcasing the latest in products, travel and entertainment for fishermen, hunters, camping and other outdoor enthusiasts.

3, The New York State Arms Collectors Association Albany Gun Show (Jan 25-26)

When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday

Where: Empire State Plaza Convention Center, Albany.

Highlights: Tables of exhibits and displays from all over the US and Canada. See and buy US military arms, Colt revolvers, high grade double barreled shotguns, Remingtons, muskets, Smith & Wesson, Kentucky rifles, gun parts and accessories, Springfields, Winchesters, bowie knives, powder horns, custom and factory made knives, military relics from before Revolutionary War to present, and more.

4. S-VE Sportsman Show (Feb. 1-2)

When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday

Where: Spencer -Van Etten High School, 16 Dartts Cross Rd, Spencer

Highlights: Outdoors exhibits plus seminars/talks on game calling, dog demonstrations, falconry, predator calling, a "skinning" demonstration and tips on bass fishing. For the kids, there are games, crafts, a petting zoo, an archery range, a fly casting area and a 3D archery tournament.

5. Central New York Sportman Show (Feb. 1)

When: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday

Where: Kallet Civic Center, 159 Main St., Oneida

Highlights: Seminars and demonstrations by experts on hunting, fishing, and other outdoor related topics; more than 45 outdoor businesses and clubs from the Central New York area; the Utica Zoo's live presentation of wild New York State animals, children will be able to see and touch animals throughout the day.

6. Adirondack Outdoorsman Show (Feb. 8-9)

When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday

Where: Johnstown Moose Club, 109 S. Comrie Ave., Route 30A North, Johnstown

Highlights: The show will be geared toward to tastes of hunters, fishermen and outdoors enthusiasts with exhibit containing items for sale pertaining to hunting and fishing gear/supplies, guns, archery, trapping, boating, camping, hiking, snow shoeing, guides and charter services, taxidermy, snowmobiling, collectable knives, antique hunting and fishing gear, wildlife art and books and Adirondack furniture. Many featured guests, authors and industry experts are set to be on hand throughout the weekend giving seminars and discussing outdoors and hunting/fishing subjects with attendees.

Boating enthusiast will look at the newest models at the 2020 Central New York Boat Show at the New York State Fairgrounds. Spread over three building and 200,000 square feet of show space. The show will showcase all-new models of power and sail boats, including cruisers, sport boats, pontoon boats, personal watercraft, and docks. SYR

7. Central New York Boat Show (Feb. 20-23)

When: 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m to 9 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Where: New York State Fairgrounds, Syracuse

Highlights: The show will feature more than 500 new models of power and sailboats, including cruisers, sports boats, pontoon boats, personal water craft and docks. The show will span three buildings: The Center of Progress, Horticulture Building and the Exhibit Center.

8. Cattaraugus County Sportsmen’s Show (Feb. 29-March 1)

When : 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Where: Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino / Event Center, 77 Seneca Allegany Blvd., Salamanca

Highlights: Fishing Gear, Hunting Supplies, Sporting Goods, Archery Equipment, Knife Makers, Taxidermy, Outdoor Guides, Trapping Supplies, Hunting Preserves, Charter Services, Modern Rifles, Shotguns, Handguns Antique Firearms, Military Surplus, Alpaca Outdoor Clothing. Highlights: New 2020 models and closeouts on new fold-downs, popup campers, truck campers, tent trailers, fifth wheels, van campers, park models, and motor homes. FREE parking and shuttle bus service between buildings/parking.

• Where can I sign a contract to Exhibit this year? Ready to join us in February for the show? Click here to fill out the Exhibitor application.
• What does the floor plan look like? Click here to view an exhibitor layout of what you can expect to see at the show!
• How do we load-in to the show? You will be able to load in on Friday, February 24th. In order to make this as smooth as possible, those with multiple booths will go first and can start loading in at 12 noon. Those with single booths and/or limited items may load in at 1:30pm or later – or as early as 8am on Saturday, February 25th. The Albany Capital Center’s loading dock is located on the left side of the building at 54 Howard Street, Albany, NY 12207. Exhibitors will be able to pull off the street into the loading dock. Should exhibitors have only a few items to move in, we suggest using the parking in the Albany Capital Center’s parking garage. Should exhibitors choose to park in the parking garage, there is access to a passenger elevator that can be used to bring you up to the 1st Level of the Capital Center.
• How do we load-out of the show? The Expo closes at 4pm on Sunday, February 26th, 2022 and exhibitors are required to stay until then. Load out and break down will start at 4pm.
• Where do we park as Exhibitors? The GPS Address for the Albany Capital Center Parking Garage entrance is 7 Wendell Street, Albany, NY, 12207. In addition to the dedicated Albany Capital Center Garage, the following garages are all directly connected to the Albany Capital Center via enclosed walkways: Times Union Center Parking Garage, located at 100 Beaver Street Albany, NY 12207, The Renaissance Albany Parking Garage, located at 49 Howard Street, Albany NY 12207, and The Empire State Plaza Visitor Parking Lot, located at S Mall Arterial, V Lot, Albany NY 12207. If your vehicle is larger than 7′ please contact Mike Deep at 413-664-1053 to make arrangements.
