More about Beese’s Riverside Tea Rooms

Beese’s Riverside Tea Rooms is a hidden treasure, set beside a pleasantly wooded stretch of the river Avon. For some, a haven of tranquillity, where generations of city dwellers would put their cares of the city behind them for a time.  Visitors range from families, ramblers, cyclists, dog walkers and, of course, river-users swimming or rowing leisurely by.

Beeses Tea Rooms Bury Hill Farm

In more recent years, Beese’s can be a lively place, whether it’s a friends’ get-together, a birthday or wedding celebration, or one of Beese’s music nights.

Beese’s is open each year for the spring and summer.  They have live music most Friday evenings, including a mix of known Bristol bands and visitors from afar.  There has been an annual beer festival since 2009.  Visit their Website for more information.

Independent Reviews:-

Having had a less than successful trip to We the Curious, we saw the yellow boat arrive and jumped on board. The full tour takes you from the City Centre to Hotwells and back, and then goes off in the other direction to Temple Meads and back. You can choose the full 80 minute tour, a 40 minute (half tour) or simply use the craft as a taxi or bus in the harbour area. We chose the 40 minute trip to Hotwells and back and saw Bristol from a viewpoint I had never experienced before. You travel past The Matthew and The Great Britain, have a good view of the cathedral, the harbour-side industries and the old pubs, with a great view of the multi-coloured buildings of Hotwells. A very friendly crewman was there to help people on and off and call out the stops and sell the tickets. We will definitely go back and do the full tour (ticket lasts a day and lets you hop on and off) when the weather is a bit warmer. Great fun and great value.

Fabulous cream tea cruise

A gorgeous way to celebrate my birthday on a hot summer’s afternoon. We took our 3 year old grandson and he absolutely loved seeing all the other boats, herons and other activities. They very kindly substituted the scones and cream to gluten free and dairy free for one of us. The staff were very cheerful and served tea or coffee for us at the table, with a refill on the return trip if required. The river is heaving with interest in the city and beautiful countryside beyond. A complement of about 25 guests felt just right and the option to watch from the bow in the fresh air made the trip perfect.

Booked the Bagheera for a 3 hour tour of Dockside Pubs for a work event with 29 people and had an amazing time! We were ordinally worried that it would be too hot on the boat as it doesn't have an outdoor section but we were pleasantly surprised that the top opens! The boat was spacious and fit all of us comfortably. We docked at The Grain Barge and The Ostrich which were both great, and the bar on the boat itself was stocked. The Staff on board were great as well, special thanks to George who took care of all our drink needs!

I had an awful experience with this company - I hired a boat for my 21st birthday and paid a certain amount extra to put behind the bar so my friends couple enjoy free drinks. Apparently this caused confusion, and I had to hop on the phone with the office to explain the situation to the lady (who did NOT believe me even though I had the proof of payment right in front of me - it was so unbelievably rude). This took up quite a good portion of the party considering we were only there for 1h30m, and I was deeply disappointed to be spending at least 20mins+ “resolving” this issue. They were kind enough to offer a refund of the bar tab money but that’s the only good thing to have come out of this. Use at your own risk - they don’t like to believe customers even when they have the email trail to prove it :)

We are so sorry that a simple clerical error meant that both additional payments from your father for £100 weren't noted in your booking details as separate payments. After a quick phone call and a checking of the email trails we were able to confirm from our end what the mix up was. We continued to serve your party drinks throughout this time and it was all resolved within 10mins. As you say, we followed up your trip immediately with an email to explain what had happened and to offer a refund for your drinks by way of apology as you were clearly distressed by the situation at the time and were very vocal about your views when talking to our staff on the phone. We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service as you will see from our other reviews, and we obviously never wish for our customers to leave feeling the way you did. As far as we are aware the rest of your time was a lovely sunny cruise on the water and hopefully you enjoyed the rest of your birthday.

Very helpful staff, could not do enough to help. We were able to move the dates multiple times due to covid. Staff are nice on the day, full access to speaker and playing own music. Lovely tour around Bristol harbour side (we did 3 hour trip with no stops) It’s my second booze cruise with this company in a year and I would 100% recommend

My partner and myself took a two hour afternoon boat trip with a cream tea yesterday. It was a lovely trip and very well organised. Each party whether two , four or six had their own table with a well presented scones, jam, cream, strawberries and tarts. The commentary as we were going through Bristol was excellent telling us about the buildings and their history. The young girl was lovely and kept our mugs filled up with tea and coffee. Would definitely recommend this trip

booze cruise bristol harbour

We hired, I think, the company's biggest boat for a medical school reunion. Great team on the boat, friendly and made us very welcome. Superb catering, we had the 'midshipman's buffet' which was excellent. Well stocked inexpensive bar. This was a most welcome 'break' on a busy weekend, a time to relax, to see how much the dock area had been developed, and chat to old friends. Recommended.
