Be ready to roll on Black Friday with Yahoo Mail’s handy coupon list
Let’s start with Coupons, which is launching just in time for Black Friday shopping. The feature is basically aimed at being the digital version of “coupon clipping.” Instead of actually cutting out coupons from flyers you get in the actual mail, Yahoo will automatically gather all the Black Friday deals you get in your inbox into one list that you can scroll through. From that list, you can filter even further by “clipping” coupons that look particularly interesting, and even set alerts for when those coupons expire. To be clear, the feature will be available after Black Friday — so it will also help when Christmas rolls around.
Of course, the feature is only available in Yahoo Mail, but if you use Yahoo as your main inbox and have connected other accounts, like Gmail, you can clip coupons from those accounts, too. The feature is available on the web and within the mobile app .
- Google Black Friday deals: Save on Pixel 7, Pixel Buds and Pixel Watch
- 5 phones you absolutely shouldn’t buy on Black Friday
- My favorite iPhone 13 Pro case is in the Black Friday sale and you should buy it
Yahoo is also launching a few new features that should make things easier for travelers. Yahoo Mail will now pull relevant information from your flights and display it all in the “Travel Smart View.” You’ll get all the pertinent information, including airport, time, gate, and so on. You’ll also get check-in alerts, and 24 hours before the flight, you’ll receive a notification that will bring you directly to the airline’s check-in website. On the day of your flight, Yahoo will track things like gate changes, delays, and so on — and will update you with that information as it becomes available
The new features seem like very nice additions, but what’s extra helpful is that they’re not limited to either the app or the website — they’re available on both. That means users can expect largely the same experience across both platforms, which is something that not all mail providers can boast.

Make Holiday Travel a Breeze with Yahoo Mail
By Selena Shang, Product Manager
You might remember the scene from “Home Alone” where the McCallisters, late for their flight due to a power outage, are barrelling through an airport while “Run Run Rudolph” blares in the background. We’ve all been there once or twice, and during the holiday travel season every delay, gate change, missed connection, and canceled flight can make all the difference in getting home stress-free.
Thankfully, Yahoo Mail just made it a little easier to manage your travel this holiday season with our new Travel feature.
Starting today, Yahoo Mail will help bring together all of your flight information into one view, across all of your connected Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook, or AOL accounts. Also, we’ll notify you of any important changes to your flight, so you can plan your trip accordingly.
Yahoo Mail now offers:
Cancellation Help - If (worst case scenario) your flight is canceled, your Travel View information will update and prompt you to call the airline with just a tap of a button.
One Travel View - Yahoo Mail finds all the relevant information about your flights from every connected inbox and displays that information in an easy-to-use Travel View. (Departure/arrival airport, date, time, etc.)
Check-in Notifications - 24 hours before your flight, you will receive a notification that it is time to check in, with a direct link to the airline’s check-in page.
Up-to-date Details - Six hours before your flight, Yahoo Mail updates your Travel View with relevant information such as gate and terminal details. You can also tap on the “Get Directions” button for directions and expected travel time to the airport.
Change Notifications - Yahoo Mail starts tracking all gate changes, delays, and cancellations to notify you if and when your flight might have changed.
Here’s how to use it:
1. Add your mailboxes - Connect as many email accounts to your Yahoo Mail app (in the App Store and Google Play ) as you like (e.g. Yahoo, Google, Outlook, or AOL).
2. Explore the Travel View - Check out the new “Travel View” tab in the left panel and all of your flights (past and upcoming) will appear in an easy-to-glance view. If you want, you can tap on the flight to see your original email.
3. Check-in and see details - On your travel day, use your Travel View to check into your flight and review any changes to your plans before you reach the airport.
4. Bon Voyage - That’s it!
Yahoo Mail currently supports the Travel View on iOS, Android, and web. If you don’t see your flights, don’t fret. We are constantly learning and improving our flight discovery, so keep coming back! Happy and safe holiday travels from all of us here at Yahoo Mail!
This feature is available to iOS users in the US with their language set to English, as well as web and Android users with their language set to English, anywhere in the world. Download the latest on the App Store (iOS 4.21), Google Play (Android 5.21) or visit Yahoo Mail on your computer. Check it out and let us know what you think — just go to Settings and tap “Send Feedback.”

Yahoo is adding two new features to its email service ahead of the holiday season. Now users will be able to “clip” coupons, albeit digitally, and keep track of their travel information, regardless of whether it’s in Yahoo, Gmail, AOL, or Outlook.
Yahoo said that its email service will find the most relevant deals from your inboxes so you don’t have to search by brand or expiration date. All coupons you decide to clip will reside in a dedicated place within your account, and you’ll be notified when they’re about to expire.
Since millions of people will also be traveling this season, Yahoo Mail’s new travel feature will help organize boarding passes. The feature is similar to Gmail’s Trip bundles or what you’d imagine TripIt being if it resided within an inbox. One notable difference is that Yahoo looks at multiple accounts, as people may use their work email to book flights or have more than one personal account.
Yahoo Mail now provides a single travel view that will display check-in notifications, up-to-date details about your flight, and any change notifications. It will also help if you have to cancel your flight. It’s unfortunate that Yahoo doesn’t include hotel or car reservations, since that would give you a complete picture of your trip.
Both of these features are available today on the web and in Yahoo Mail’s iOS and Android apps.

Yahoo Mail adds travel and event alerts and news notifications
Not to be outdone by Google which just unveiled Inbox , “a completely different type of inbox” from the Gmail team, rival Yahoo on Wednesday pushed an update to its native Mail application for the iPhone and iPad .
The latest versions of Yahoo Mail adds notifications for your favorite news stories, travel/event alerts and other tidbits.
Yahoo Mail is available free in the App Store .
The new Yahoo Today view lists upcoming flight details, including directions to the airport, the ability to call the airline to rebook your flight or go directly to the airline website, as shown on the animated GIF below.
The app supports sharing of your flight and event details via email or text.
“And once you land at your destination, you’ll receive suggestions for the top restaurants and attractions in the area, with reviews and pictures from Yelp,” notes the Internet company.
You also get updates on flight status changes delivered in real-time. And like Google’s Inbox app, Yahoo Mail will show map directions for your upcoming events (Evite, Eventbrite and Ticketmaster events are currently supported).
If you’d rather stay on top of news, Yahoo has you covered as Mail now makes it easy to enable notifications for news headlines within in-app settings.
Catch 22: for the time being, these features are only available to users residing in the United States (you must be signed-in).
Yahoo Mail 3.2.8 changelog:
- The Multi-talented Yahoo Mail app is now even smarter. Now in Yahoo Today, view your upcoming flight details plus get real time updates on flight status changes. Also, see upcoming events which you can map directions to and easily share with friends. Available in the US only.
- Stay on top of the latest headlines with News notifications. Turn it on or off anytime under Settings. Available in the US only.
- Performance improvements
The app comes in at 35.8 megabytes and runs natively on any iPhone, iPod touch or iPad compatible with iOS 7.0 or later. Regrettably, Yahoo hasn’t optimized its email software yet for the bigger iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus screens.

Yahoo's mail app has notifications for flights and events too
Yahoo has just released a new Mail update for iOS and Android that integrates event and travel notifications within the app... whoa wait, why does that sound familiar? Another tech company with a name that starts with a G might have announced something similar earlier, but we're not entirely sure (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) . Kidding aside, the Today section in the Yahoo Mail app can now tell you if your flight's been delayed or canceled and give you directions to the airport: you can even call the airline or go straight to its website if you need to rebook, right from the app. When you visit a new area, you'll automatically get restaurant and attraction suggestions, replete with their Yelp reviews. Finally, if you're attending an Evite, Eventbrite or Ticketmaster event, the app will show you its details, along with directions on how to get to there. The update's already out on both iTunes and Google Play , but (unfortunately for most countries around the globe) the features are only available in the US for now.

Lots of email options missing
So many email options missing, one of which I think is highly important; I want to forward an obvious scam email to report it as phishing, however there is no option to forward the email without opening it. Of course I’m not wanting to open a scam email that I already know is a scam email. On top of that, the email shows it’s from a legitimate email when I hover over it in which I know is not legitimate by looking at the preview of the email, & that btw only works on my desktop computer & not on my phone. I could go on, but right now that’s my two biggest concerns. I’m trying to stay safe, but it is obvious to me that AT&T is not going to provide safety without me being forced to subscribe to their $7 a month upgrade in which only says it provides features I already have & pay for & don’t need. Also I’ve been getting quite a bit of spam lately, where it use to all go automatically to my spam folder (would never come to my inbox), but for some reason things have become less secure. I wish I knew how to solve that on my end, but that’s not possible, as I see no option. Revised Review: I guess maybe I’m directing my frustrations to the wrong entity; instead I think I need to direct my frustration towards AT&T since they are responsible for the workings of my email, maybe my frustration has nothing to do with Yahoo; so I’ve decided to change the star review to 5 stars, but I’m leaving my comments on here.
Doesn't Allow Scrolling
When you try to advance to new emails further down the scrolling section of emails in the Inbox, Spam folders as well as your own created folders the app automatically scrolls up enlarging the scroll bar as it advances back up on its own making it 100% impossible to scroll down to any and all emails that are off the screen and thus further down. The only way to get to them is to go to Full Screen View on one email and using the arrows to advance down to earlier previous emails. Because of this it makes this app 100% impossible to use and thus really not worth any Stars whatsoever. Especially since this problem has been going on for months (since well into 2018) and all Feedback complaining about it has been ignored and it's only gotten worse with each update to this app. It used to only effect the Spam folder, then it also affected Created Folders and the Archives folder and most recently it's been effecting the Inbox as well. Thus with each time the problem has made the Yahoo Email App 100% impossible to use and requiring going to Safari or a Computer to get it to actually work right. With Yahoo also ignoring Feedback on this problem for months and not fixing it in any update this app is 100% NOT WORTH IT!
Great app one small flaw
I like this app I have no problems with its functionality. Perhaps others should update it if having functional issues. One thing that would make it perfect in my opinion (thus deserving of 5 stars) is if one had the ability to change the sound that is used for notifications of new mail received. I tried doing so in both phone settings and in app settings to no avail. One of the main reasons I switched to this app instead of using the Mail app in iOS was because for the last month or so (maybe longer) the iOS Mail app was not receiving pushed mail from Yahoo. It was before because I paid for that ability from Yahoo (paid so that POP mail would be supported). I guess Yahoo decided to stop that service or make it slow or whatever maybe to push (no pun intended) their own Mail app. It's fine. I'm not too disappointed. (I will be stopping payments for that though) Anyway, like I wrote, the main reason I got the app was so I could get mail as it's pushed to the server and now that's happening again. But the sound is too much like other notifications (like Tweet notifications and calendar reminders) so I can't tell by sound alone what just occurred on my phone. The sound is too much like other notifications in other words. So if we could change that notification sound that would be awesome. It would make the app perfect, IMO. I already submitted this as feedback in the app but I thought I'd write a review about it as well.

Travelers should maintain a high level of situational awareness, avoid areas where illicit activities occur, and promptly depart from potentially dangerous situations. See the Mexico Travel Advisory for specific information for each Mexican state. U.S. citizens should exercise increased caution in the downtown areas of popular spring break locations including Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, and Tulum, especially after dark.
- Drowning: Some beaches have strong undercurrents and rip tides. Beaches may lack lifeguards, warnings, or signs of unsafe conditions.

- Immigration: Violating the terms of your stay in Mexico can result in steep fines and detention.
- Medical Emergencies: An illness or accident could result in the need to seek medical treatment or hospitalization in Mexico. Private hospital prices can be higher than those in the United States. Many facilities require payment (sometimes only in cash) either before providing treatment or before discharging a patient.
- Pharmaceuticals: Counterfeit medication is common and may prove to be ineffective, the wrong strength, or contain dangerous ingredients. Medication should be purchased in consultation with a medical professional and from reputable establishments.
- Sexual Assault: U.S. citizens have been victims of rape and sexual assault. Perpetrators may target inebriated or isolated individuals or may employ drugs that alter the victim’s physical or mental state.
- Unregulated Alcohol: Unregulated alcohol may be contaminated, and U.S. citizens have reported losing consciousness or becoming injured after consuming alcohol that was possibly tainted.
Mexico spring break travel advisory 2024
According to the spring break travel advisory , there is a list of actions travelers should take:
- Avoid strong currents and do not swim after drinking or when warning flags note unsafe conditions.
- Be aware of your safety and protect your personal possessions when using public transportation. Use radio taxis or those from “sitio” taxi stands. Application-based car services such as Uber and Cabify are available in many Mexican cities, and generally offer another relatively safe alternative to taxis.
- Call 911 in an emergency. Although there may be English-speaking operators available, it is best to seek the assistance of a Spanish speaker to place the call.
- Consider downloading the “Guest Assist” application on your smart phone if traveling to Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, Cozumel, or other areas in the state of Quintana Roo. The Mexican government provides information on emergency services and assistance for tourists via the app and their website .
- Contact the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate if you need assistance.
- Drink responsibly and always watch your drink. If you begin to feel ill, seek medical attention immediately. Report cases of suspected unregulated or contaminated alcohol to the Mexican Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risk (COFEPRIS) by filing a report online at the COFEPRIS website, call the COFEPRIS call center at +52 01-8—033-5050, or visit a COFEPRIS office.
- Enroll in the State Department’s Smart Traveler Enrollment Program to receive up-to-date information on safety conditions in Mexico and to help the U.S. Embassy contact you in an emergency.
- Keep friends and family at home informed of your travel plans, especially if traveling alone.
- Keep your passport and entry permit (FMM), if applicable, in a safe place. Confirm the date you must depart Mexico.
- Know your drinking companions and stay in a group of friends who have your safety in mind when you are in clubs and bars, walking in dimly lit areas, or in a taxi at night. Obey Mexican law and remember Mexican laws may differ from U.S. laws.
- Make sure your health insurance plan provides coverage in Mexico, or purchase travel insurance that covers you in Mexico. Seek coverage that includes medical evacuation. Confirm costs of medical treatment in advance, when possible.
- Read the Mexico Travel Advisory and Country Information Page for details on travel throughout Mexico, including entry requirements.
- Regularly monitor your credit or debit card accounts to ensure there are no unauthorized transactions. Limit the amount of cash you carry in public, exercise caution when withdrawing cash, and avoid ATMs in isolated or unlit areas.
- See our advice for cruise passengers , particularly those with underlying health conditions.

"That Was 20 Years Ago, And I’m Sure It's Even Worse Now": People Are Sharing The Popular Travel Destinations They Did Not Enjoy
"The most fascinating part of the whole vacation was realizing that many people live for this place. The crowds…the prices…the lines. Never again for us."
BuzzFeed Staff
When you travel to a new place, you probably leave home with high expectations. After all, you never know — you could be embarking upon your new favorite destination. But chances are, you haven't been head over heels for every locale you've visited.
So I asked the BuzzFeed Community to tell me about a destination that left them feeling underwhelmed. Here's what people said, along with comments from some redditors who love to travel.
1. "san francisco. the city was so crowded, i didn’t like the food, and the homelessness we saw all around us was extremely sad.".
2. "Virginia Beach. I love beaches, but Virginia Beach was murky and way overcrowded, and there was not much to do. It’s also near a military base, so having the constant military planes overhead was just unnerving."
— Chocolateboujie
3. " New York City . I remember coming up the escalator from Penn Station and immediately smelling pee. I recall walking streets that were lined with huge piles of stinky trash bags. It was so dirty everywhere, I was afraid to touch anything. That was 20 years ago, and I’m sure it's even worse now."
— mellowswan58
4. "Cabo San Lucas. There were massive ships blocking the horizon, panhandlers who would stand in front of you so you couldn’t see the ocean, and hordes of people getting in the way at every snorkeling spot. There were beach chairs packed like sardines. I love other parts of Mexico, but Cabo was generally an underwhelming experience."
5. "Venice. This Italian city was so crowded and overrun with tourists that I couldn't even stop to enjoy the sights and experiences around me."
— alyssiadspence
6. "Disney World. My whole family was so excited about this Florida vacation, and we could not wait to get there. But we spent more money than planned (we still can’t even stomach how much we spent), we fought more as a family than we ever had, and we stood in line after line after line. The most fascinating part of the whole vacation was realizing that many people live for this place. The crowds…the prices…the lines. Never again for us."
7. "Bora Bora in French Polynesia. Yes, it’s so beautiful, but there’s really nothing to do beyond the beach. And you have to stay at one of the super-expensive resorts to actually make a trip there worthwhile. The other destinations in the Society Islands were more fun and still just as gorgeous."
8. "Egypt. I was so excited to go, but it was the worst place I’ve ever traveled to. Everyone tried to scam me relentlessly, from the airport clerk to the taxi drivers and the pyramids tour guide. People will tell you they recognize you from the day before, and they'll try to get you to ride their donkey and follow you even when you say multiple times that you’re not interested. It was impossible to walk half a block from my hotel to try to buy water without people constantly stopping me trying to get money in some way and some form. It was absolutely exhausting."
— poeticfish417
9. "Tulum, Mexico. It has beautiful beaches but is otherwise completely devoid of character. It's expensive and boring (unless your only goal is to party with other tourists)."
— coolmug64
10. "Sydney. I found it to be a very boring city. I hate that I wasted so much of my time in Australia there. Bondi Beach was just okay, and seeing the iconic landmarks like the Opera House felt like checking things off a box. After that, I wasn't sure how to spend my time. The city has no personality. As soon as I hopped on a train west, I saw incredible landscapes and met truly genuine folks. You can do Sydney in a day or two. I wish I’d headed into the bush the minute my plane landed."
11. "Bali. This Indonesian island is still great in many ways, but it is increasingly overrun by obnoxious tourists and expats. I'm talking vapid, entitled influencer (or wannabe influencer) kinds of tourists/expats who wait in long lines to take selfies at historical/spiritual sites that they don't bother to learn anything about."
12. "Amsterdam. It was so crowded, chaotic, and easy to get run over by other tourists on bikes who've never ridden before. I feel like it's romanticized a lot, but the first time I visited, I was genuinely disappointed. It's definitely dirty on the streets, and the canals have a lot of waste drifting in them."
— u/Marveloes
13. "Paris. What a colossally overrated city. I’ve always heard that Paris syndrome was a real thing, but I wasn’t prepared for how disappointed I was actually going to feel after visiting. The crowds were atrocious, the locals are not friendly, to say the least (even though I could speak some French), and everything was absolutely filthy. And this is all coming from a San Francisco native!"
14. "Portland, Oregon. My best friend and I drove across the country from Florida to Washington, stopping for national parks, iconic eateries, and more. We read so many good things about Portland online, but in reality, it was one of the most depressing places I’ve ever seen. The hotel itself was awesome, but outside those doors, the downtown area was awful. There was tons of open drug use, naked people on the sidewalk, and the smell of bodily fluids everywhere. It was too much. We saw other parts of Oregon and loved it (especially Cannon Beach), but Portland was a major disappointment."
15. "Santorini was pretty disappointing, in my opinion. I feel like the photos I've seen online must have been photoshopped. I expected beautiful views but ended up having to crop graffiti and dirty buildings from the backgrounds of my pictures. It was also so expensive. The cheapest lunch option I found was a small wrap for 11 euros. It really felt like a tourist trap. Rhodes, on the other hand, was gorgeous and affordable. This island was home to beautiful beaches and old medieval buildings. I would avoid spending much time in Santorini, considering how much more expensive it is than other, equally beautiful Greek islands."
16. "The Alhambra in Granada, Spain. It was so crowded, especially considering how small it actually is. I’d seen so many photos of the Alhambra where it looked so stunning, and I envisioned it being this serene palace. In reality, though, it was beyond packed with tour groups. Perhaps this is a good instance of how inaccurately social media can represent popular tourist destinations."
17. "Atlantis in the Bahamas. You have this image of a luxury resort before visiting, but upon arrival, you find this incredibly overcrowded place (and that’s *before* the cruise people arrive and completely take over the property during daytime hours). Anytime there was an issue with service, they would blame it on 'island time.' If one more person said the phrase 'island time,' I was going to lose it. We had thousand-dollar excursions, private cabanas, and dinner reservations all cut short due to island time. Paradise Island was beautiful, but we're never going back to Atlantis."
18. "Naples. I did a big European trip after college and spent about a month in Italy. Naples was EASILY the worst place we visited. Seedy, run-down, trashy, unsafe, you name it. Would never go back."
— u/ wanna_meet_that_dad
19. "Barcelona was disappointing to me. If you aren't a big drinker and don't want to do a lot of shopping, the city is kind of boring. Spend a day on the beach and another day touring, and you've pretty much done it all. That being said, going to La Sagrada Família was incredible. It made the rest of the boring trip totally worthwhile."
20. "Nashville. Traffic is a nightmare, and you cannot enjoy the downtown area because it is so loud. All of the bars have music blaring out into the street, and it just blends together into one high-decibel sound wave. Not to mention, there are people who are homeless passed out in the middle of the sidewalks. The city reeks of urine and sewage, and on weekends, you cannot even walk without getting bumped into. Don’t even get me started on all the party buses, tractors, and pedal taverns that further congest things and add to the noise, with everyone in town for sorority events and bachelorette parties."
21. "Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. It's very artificial feeling, and the whole city has a crowded amusement park feel. There's nothing eye-catching. It feels like a lesser clone of Singapore."
— gabrielavillegasn
22. " Las Vegas , for me. I know it's a very popular tourist spot in the US, but I just can't stand going there. Like most people, I was excited to go at first, but just taking a big whiff of the air there makes me gag now. The streets can be really dirty, and traffic is terrible. It is really dry, and I personally can't stand not being near a body of water."
— UncleBenjamin
23. "The Big Island of Hawaii . I recently went on a trip to the island. So many people rave about the views and the hiking trails past beautiful waterfalls. I was there for two weeks and spent roughly half of my time driving. Any waterfall 'hikes' were more aptly just short walks from the parking lot and up a couple of stairs. The volcanoes were cool, the weather was nice, and the views were okay, but I don’t think I would spend the time or the money to go back."
24. "Costa Rica. This country felt like a tourist trap. In many places, you have no option but to stay at an all-inclusive resort and purchase travel packages for adventure sports like zip lining, horseback riding, and more. There isn't much opportunity to deviate from these packages, and it's also very expensive. I felt that it was hard to learn anything about the local or Indigenous culture."
