Narrator : Ah... today we study the gentle rhythm of the sea. (music blasting from SpongeBob’s house, so the narrator gets angry) Gentle rhythm! (in his normal voice) Oh, never mind.

Gary : Meow. (hides in shell)

SpongeBob : (moon walking) Uh-huh! Uh-huh! (makes armpit noises with Patrick) Ocean wave. (wiggles arms) Tropical breeze. (wiggles more)

Patrick : Whirlpool. (spins around on his behind)

SpongeBob : Reverse whirlpool. (does a reverse spin. Him and Patrick spin into each other causing them to bounce all over the house. The vibrations are so great that one of Squidward's pictures falls onto the ground)

Squidward : Huh? (turns around) Grr! SpongeBob! Turn that noise off! This will get his attention. (plays his clarinet. SpongeBob comes out of the top of his pineapple, spinning his legs, and flies into Squidward causing the clarinet to get stuck in his throat)

Squidward : Sponge... (note plays. Chokes)

SpongeBob : (gasps) Oh, Squidward, you swallowed your clarinet again! I’ll get it.

Squidward : (tries to get away from SpongeBob) No! No! Don't... (note plays) touch... (note plays) me! (note plays)

SpongeBob : (grabs Squidward's mouth and opens it) I'll get a better look. Hmm... It’s too dark! This calls for extreme measures. (tries to put Squidward's mouth over his body but he's too big. Outside, a mother and child are walking by as they hear strange noises. The mother puts her hands over her kid's ears and walks away with an angry look on her face, pulls out the clarinet) Got it! Hey, the pointy thing on the end is missing!

Squidward : It’s called a reed...eee!

SpongeBob : What’s a reed...eee?

Squidward : Great! (high note) My reed... (note) is still... (note) stuck in my... (note) throat! (note) And it’s all your fault! (notes)

SpongeBob : There’s only one thing to do. We gotta see Sandy. (scene cuts to an x-ray of Squidward's throat)

Sandy : Hmm. Just as I thought. You’ve got that pointy bit from the end of your clarinet stuck in your throat. That was clumsy of you.

Squidward : I didn’t. It was SpongeBob that... (note)

Sandy : Well, there’s nothing to do for it but surgery. (runs off with Squidward)

SpongeBob : Ooh... (follows them to a submarine-like machine)

Sandy : Now’s my chance to try out my new invention -- the solution to your problem.

Squidward : A submarine? (note)

Sandy : That’s right, Squidward. Let me show you. (walks into a lab where Squidward's body is on screen) This whole lab is called the Chamber of Shrinkage. I’ll shrink the sub and myself down to microscopic size... (simulation does so) ...then navigate through your brain, down into your throat and extract the reed from inside. Simple!

Squidward : Why don’t you just shrink the reed?

Sandy : (laughs) Oh, Squidward, always wanting to do it the hard way! (bubble-wipe to Squidward sitting in a chair with a white gown on) We’re all set, Squidward! Are you ready for the sedative?

Squidward : Are you sure this is safe?

Sandy : Completely! As long as someone competent is behind the wheel. Hey, what’s that? (Squidward looks then Sandy knocks him out with a karate chop) Sweet dreams, partner! Oops! I forgot to pack food for the trip. I've got to get some supplies from my treedome, and I need you to guard the submarine while I’m gone. (SpongeBob smiles) Do you think you can handle it, SpongeBob?

SpongeBob : Can do, Sandy! (bubble-wipe to SpongeBob walking back and forth, guarding the submarine) Hut-hut-hut, hut-hut-hut! Hut-hut-hut, huppity-hup-hut!

Patrick : (walks up to SpongeBob) Hi, SpongeBob.

SpongeBob : Hello, citizen.

Patrick : What are you doing?

SpongeBob : Guarding Sandy’s submarine.

Patrick : Wow! I’ve never been in a submarine. Let’s look inside.

SpongeBob : Can’t. I’m guarding it.

Patrick : Oh, man! Can't you guard it from the inside?

SpongeBob : (stops) You’re right! (bows to Patrick) Patrick, you’re a genius! (presses the 'OPEN' button to open the submarine)

SpongeBob and Patrick : Ooh! (both salute)

SpongeBob : SpongeBob and Patrick reporting for guard duty. (both he and Patrick laugh and go inside. They push buttons and pretend to actually be using the submarine)

Patrick : Hmmm..."Shrink". I do have a lot of issues. (presses button and an alarm blares. SpongeBob and Patrick look at the flashing light)

SpongeBob and Patrick : Pretty. (submarine shrinks a little)

Sandy : I'm back, SpongeBob. (drops box of nuts) Uh-oh. (SpongeBob shrinks)

Patrick : (laughs) You’re so tiny. (shrinks) Aah, a giant SpongeBob! (submarine shrinks completely. A robot hand grabs the submarine)

Sandy : Patrick! SpongeBob!

Patrick : Ahh, Sandy’s grown to gigantic size!

SpongeBob : I don’t think Sandy grew, Patrick! I think we shrunk.

Patrick : Pfft, that’s silly! Don't you think it's more likely that the entire world grew? (robot hand takes the submarine and sticks it in Squidward's nose)

Sandy : Hi, Squidward. Well, the submarine is safely inside you.

Squidward : Wonderful! Wait! If you're out here, then who's in here ? (holds head)

Sandy : Well, why don’t you take a look for yourself? (pulls down a monitor showing SpongeBob and Patrick in the submarine inside of Squidward)

Squidward : (screams) SpongeBob and Patrick are piloting a miniature submarine inside my head. SpongeBob and Patrick... SpongeBob and... (chuckles nervously then screams)

Sandy : You better calm down, Squidward. With them little critters inside you, I wouldn’t be moving around too much. You could knock them into something important. (cut to inside Squidward’s nose)

SpongeBob : Where are we, Patrick?

Patrick : I don’t know. But it’s a real dump.

Sandy : (over speaker) SpongeBob, Patrick, can you hear me?

SpongeBob : It's Sandy.

Patrick : She’s in there ? (pulls out an axe) I’ll save you, Sandy! (chops away at the control panel)

Sandy : Stop it, you itty-bitty idiot! (engine sputters and dies)

SpongeBob : Sandy, where are you? Where are we ?

Sandy : You’re trespassing, SpongeBob -- in my lab, in my submarine -- and you’re trespassing inside of Squidward!

Patrick : I thought this place was in bad shape.

Squidward : (over speaker) I heard that!

Sandy : Let’s get you out of there, SpongeBob. All you need to do is locate the auto-pilot. It’ll safely take you through your mission, and then out the extraction point. (points to Squidward’s rear-end on the computer screen. The submarine controls explode)

SpongeBob : Um...we broke it! (Patrick chops at it again with the axe)

Sandy : Stop it! What are you trying to do?! Kill him?!

Squidward : (starts sweating nervously)

Sandy : This is approximately 17 times harder to drive than a boat mobile, which you’re never successfully done. (laughs nervously) So, just take it nice and easy.

SpongeBob : No problemo. Nice and...EASY!!! (pushes the gas pedal to the floor making the submarine go as fast as it can. Both Patrick and SpongeBob are screaming at the top their lungs as they head towards the brain)

Squidward : So, how’s it going? (tires screech, metal crashes, and Squidward makes a hissing sound as SpongeBob and Patrick drive into the brain. They get unstuck but crash a lot into the brain making Squidward go insane) I can’t control my eyeballs!

Sandy : Don’t worry, it’s temporary. Now, just sign this! (holds out a waiver)

Squidward : (signs) OK, now what is this ?

Sandy : Oh, just your autograph, uh, for when you’re, uhh, famous.

Squidward : Oh, of course. I’ve got head shots, you know. (shows pictures of himself then drops them and hits himself) What the...?

Sandy : Squidward! (Squidward chokes himself then punches Sandy)

Squidward : What’s happening?! (SpongeBob and Patrick are fighting over the controls which causes them to keep crashing into Squidward's nervous system)

SpongeBob & Patrick : {talking among themselves) Give me that! Give it back! No! Give it! Give it back!

Sandy : They’re hitting your central nervous system. (Squidward punches himself)

Sandy : You’re not in control of your actions! (Squidward kicks Sandy in the rear) Hey...

Squidward : Oh, I’m sorry. I’m not in control of my actions.

Sandy : (gets mad because she knew it was on purpose)

SpongeBob and Patrick : (bounce off Squidward’s nervous system)

Sandy : They’ve gone off course! (Squidward is spinning in his chair then is tossed into the back where he is doing more crazy twitches)

Sandy : Oh my gosh! They're out of control! (SpongeBob and Patrick land in some green goo)

SpongeBob : Ew! Where the hell are we? (Squidward’s stomach rumbles. The submarine is getting dissolved in the green acid)

SpongeBob : Mayday! Mayday! We’re sinking! And Patrick won’t stop screaming!

Sandy : Those stomach acid levels are way too high!

SpongeBob : The reserve tanks are almost empty. (Patrick grunts) Patrick! (Patrick is using the axe to chop at the tanks)

Patrick : Finished.

Sandy : SpongeBob, you gotta get out of there! It’s a straight shot up the stomach to the esophagus where the reed is! (note plays) You can complete your mission if we can just access an alternative fuel. Like natural gas.

SpongeBob : Natural gas?

Patrick : Like this! (drinks a soda and burps loudly)

Squidward : Stop burping inside me! That’s disgusting!

Sandy : Wait a minute, Squidward. They might be on to something.

Squidward : What?

Sandy : If you can make a big enough burp...

Patrick : We can filter the CO2 through our ballast tanks, refire the engines, and ride the shockwave out of here.

SpongeBob : Wow.

Sandy : He’s right.

Sandy : We’re going through with your plan, Patrick!

SpongeBob : Yay!

Patrick : What plan? (Squidward drinks a bunch of soda)

Sandy : Now burp , Squidward! Lives are on the line! (Squidward tries to burp)

SpongeBob : I never thought it would end this way. (Squidward burps loudly sending the submarine up and out of the stomach) It's working! (natural gas readings are full)

SpongeBob and Patrick : Whee!

Sandy : They’re heading for the esophagus. (smells Squidward’s burp) Phew, what have you been eating ?

Squidward : Morons. (the submarine crashes into Squidward's throat where the reed is at)

SpongeBob : SpongeBob to Sandy. We've reached the foreign obstruction. (swims out with a bathing suit on)

Sandy : OK, you're going to have to go out and dislodge it somehow.

SpongeBob : I’m already on it. (takes out a hammer and hits the reed with it)

Narrator : Two hours later...

SpongeBob : This stupid d*mn hammer won’t break anything. (throws it at the reed. The hammer bounces back and cuts SpongeBob’s water arm floatation, making him bounce everywhere)

Patrick : (peers out of the sub) SpongeBob, do what you were born to do! Dance!

SpongeBob : You’re right Patrick. Whirlpool Spin! (cuts the reed in half with the spin causing Squidward to spit it out)

Sandy : Good work, guys! Mission accomplished. Now all you have to do is...

Squidward : (pushes Sandy out of the way) Get the heck out of my body! GO!

Patrick : Grow? (presses the 'GROW' button which sounds an alarm)

SpongeBob, Squidward and Sandy : NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

(Cut to the Krusty Krab)

Mr. Krabs : Almost ready to open. (cleans his 'NO REFUNDS' sign) There.

Squidward : (walks in) Good morning, Mr. Krabs.

Mr. Krabs : Hello, Squidward. Neptune's trousers! What’s gotten into you? (zoom out to show Squidward with a submarine-shaped body)

SpongeBob : (inside Squidward) Reporting for duty, Mr. Krabs. (toilet flushes)

Patrick : Squidward, the toilet's backed up again. (Squidward growls in anger)

Squidtastic Voyage

Original air date: 10/6/2006

"Squidtastic Voyage" contains examples of:

  • Actually a Good Idea : Patrick's idea, as explained under Dumbass Has a Point , astonishes SpongeBob and Sandy as they acknowledge that it's actually a good plan coming from Patrick.
  • Be careful when you mess around with other people. If you get too unruly, someone may get hurt.
  • Let the expert handle a problem. Listen & follow their instructions carefully and don't mess around, or else you may make a situation worse.
  • Big "NO!" : SpongeBob, Sandy, and Squidward have one in unison when Patrick presses the 'Grow' button.
  • Chekhov's Skill : SpongeBob's dancing from earlier, particularly his 'whirlpool spin', comes in handy to get the reed out of Squidward's throat.
  • SpongeBob points out that Squidward swallowed his clarinet again .
  • "Squidward, the toilet's backed up again."
  • Dinner Deformation : The episode ends with the shrunken sub growing inside Squidward.
  • Downer Ending : The growing submarine is stuck inside Squidward with SpongeBob and Patrick in it.
  • Dumbass Has a Point : Patrick says something smart that leaves the others surprised: Patrick: We can filter the CO 2 through our ballast tanks, refire the engines, and ride the shockwave out of here!
  • "Fantastic Voyage" Plot : Complete with Pop-Culture Pun Episode Title .
  • Freak Out : Squidward does this when he realizes that SpongeBob and Patrick are inside him. Sandy tells him to calm down and that he shouldn't be freaking out because he could knock them into "something important".
  • iSophagus : When Squidward swallows his clarinet and the reed gets stuck in his throat, it squeaks every time he tries to speak.
  • Involuntary Smile of Incapacitation : Squidward grins after Sandy knocks him out with a karate chop.
  • Irony : The submarine becomes stuck inside Squidward at the end of the episode after Patrick presses the grow button, but they could press the shrink button any time to turn it back to the size it was before.
  • Literal Ass-Kicking : SpongeBob and Patrick end up in Squidward's central nervous system, causing Squidward to do random stuff. When Sandy tells Squidward that he's not in control of his actions, he kicks Sandy in the butt, stating that he's not in control of his actions. But it's likely he had control of that action.
  • Poor Communication Kills : Patrick thought Squidward said "Grow", and pressed the grow button.
  • Shout-Out : The plot and episode title is a reference to Fantastic Voyage .
  • Too Dumb to Live : Patrick does some particularly idiotic things in this episode: pressing the "Shrink" button, breaking the submarine's auto-pilot, smashing the fuel tanks, and pressing the "Grow" button while the sub was still inside Squidward.
  • Ungrateful Bastard : Squidward eagerly screams at SpongeBob and Patrick to get out his body without even a thank you for getting the reed out of his throat. This results in a Poor Communication Kills in the end, when he yells "Go!", resulting in Patrick mishearing as "Grow" and pressing the grow button. Granted, they were the cause of the problem.
  • Wingding Eyes : Squidward's eyes spin like slot machines when the submarine bounces in his brain, resulting in him unable to control them.

That's No Lady

Original air date: 11/25/2006 note  First released on the Whale of a Birthday DVD on 10/31/06.

"That's No Lady" contains examples of:

  • When promoting something, make your intent clear. Presenting it with impoliteness may imply something else.
  • If you don't understand something, ask for a clarification.
  • If you feel that someone has threatened you, contact the police or a trustworthy authority figure. There's not much your friends and family can do if it is very serious.
  • If someone doesn't like you back, don't pressure them to be in a relationship with you. There are millions of other people out there who could be your sweetheart.
  • Workplace harassment, especially from the upper management, is not something to be tolerated.
  • Attractive Bent-Gender : In-Universe , at least. All of the men in Bikini Bottom (except for SpongeBob) are instantly infatuated with Patrick when he dresses up as a lady (Patricia), especially Squidward and Mr. Krabs. That is until they found out who he really is...
  • Bait-and-Switch : GET OUTTA TOWN!...To beautiful Sunny Shore Resorts!
  • Disguised in Drag : Patrick dresses up as a woman and takes up a new identity as Patricia, so as to avoid being run out of town. However, the man who told him to "get out of town" sees right through it.
  • Downer Ending : Only applies to Mr. Krabs and Squidward, since they are disappointed when they find out "Patricia" is actually Patrick. Doesn't apply to SpongeBob and Patrick, since they continue their day normally.
  • Eye Pop : Mr. Krabs' eyes inflate and literally pop like balloons when he first sees "Patricia".
  • Head-Turning Beauty : All the men's reaction to Patricia ( except for SpongeBob of course ).
  • House Amnesia : A variation. When Patrick is packing to leave, he ends up taking clothes, peanut butter, and pickles that actually belong to SpongeBob. SpongeBob: (Tearfully) I can't believe you're leaving Patrick... With all my pickles!
  • Impact Silhouette : Patrick crashes through the wall of SpongeBob's house when he sees his reflection after SpongeBob puts shades on him.
  • Internal Reveal : Despite the viewer learning the businessfish was just handing out vacation fliers in the first minutes of the episode, it takes until near the end for Patrick to learn this, which SpongeBob discovers upon receiving said flyer and realizes he wasn't trying to kick Patrick out of town at all.
  • Not Distracted by the Sexy : Spongebob is the only one who is not infatuated with "Patricia". Justified in that he was the one who helped Patrick with the disguise in the first place.
  • Oblivious to Love : Patrick can't understand why Squidward and Mr. Krabs are being so nice to him while he's disguised as Patricia.
  • Poor Communication Kills : The advertiser yelling at people to "Hey, you! Get out of town!" comes off as being rude and abrasive, causing Patrick to interpret it for the worse.
  • The Real Remington Steele : Patrick's first attempt at a disguise is to wear kelp on his head and call himself "Mr. Seaweed Monster Man". Unfortunately, SpongeBob then points out that there's already a Mr. Seaweed Monster Man.
  • Sexophone : Plays when we first see Patrick's "Patricia" disguise.
  • She's Not My Girlfriend : Larry thinks that "Patricia" is SpongeBob's girlfriend, which he denies.
  • Sobriquet Sex Switch : Patrick goes by Patricia when disguised as a woman.
  • Stalker with a Crush : Mr. Krabs and Squidward act like complete stalkers to "Patricia", popping out of random places (like the sink and the fryer) to ask "Patricia" out on a date. And they still persist even after Patrick continues to tell them "no".
  • Toilet Teleportation : At one point, Squidward pops out of the toilet to try to ask "Patricia" out on a date.
  • Unsettling Gender-Reveal : Mr. Krabs and Squidward don't take it well when Patrick reveals that he's not Patricia. Not helped by the fact that Patrick strips himself butt-naked in the process , resulting in even more Squick from both his suitors. Squidward: Umm... I think I need to take a shower.
  • Wham Line : In-Universe , when Spongebob lets slip the fact that "Patricia" is actually Patrick. Spongebob: I won't let you do it! You'll have to do something horrible to me before I let you throw Patrick out of town! Mr. Krabs and Squidward: PATRICK!?
  • Wholesome Crossdresser : The reason why Patrick is crossdressing in this episode is because he thinks he's being targeted by an assassin, and SpongeBob comes up with the idea for him to dress as a woman so he can stay in Bikini Bottom. Unfortunately, it ends up drawing the wrong kind of attention .

Although series creator Stephen Hillenburg wanted the show to end after release of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie to prevent it from " jumping the shark " and because SpongeBob SquarePants had peaked with the first movie, Nickelodeon wanted more episodes to be produced in accordance with high ratings and series-based merchandise sales. Thus, the show was renewed for a fourth season. [2] However, Hillenburg resigned as the showrunner and appointed Paul Tibbitt . [3]

On May 16 , 2004 , former writer Jay Lender said on the now defunct SpongeBob Area that there would be more episodes made: "I believe Nickelodeon is making a handful of new episodes right now, 10 or fewer. Steve's involvement is limited, but the show is in good hands with Paul Tibbitt." [4] Despite concerns over a possibly similar situation over what happened with The Ren & Stimpy Show and its creator , Lender said "that's not what's happening here" and assured that "Steve and Derek are exactly as involved as they want to be with the new episodes." [5] Former writer Sam Henderson also stated that the show was back: "I know that SB is going back into production, but I'm not involved (at least I think). I know that Paul Tibbitt is in charge and Steve Hillenburg & Derek Drymon are not." [6] He theorized that as to the reason of why these new episodes were being made was "that they want to be able to have an even 65. The real money in television is when a show is rerun in syndication, and 65 is the minimum amount to be eligible." [5]

Kaz was called up by Paul Tibbitt to return at some point as well: "Paul called me a few weeks ago to work on a SpongeBob or two. He said he wouldn't be ready for me until late June and July. Of course I said YES. He told me that Nickelodeon ordered four new half-hours. Ten makes more sense -- ----, why not do one more whole season? I believe the characters are strong enough work out 24 more stories. I'm not sure what Paul Tibbitt is thinking about. I know that Carl Greenblatt (my second writing/storyboard directing partner) did a freelance storyboard for one of the new episodes under Paul Tibbitt. [this would end up being the season premiere " Fear of a Krabby Patty "] There's no gag order on information as far as I know." [5] However, by July 2004, he never got the call back and eventually went off to work on Camp Lazlo . [7]

On July 5 , 2004, Jay Lender responded to two emails about a new season he had gotten from both of SBM's moderators, now confident that there would be new episodes, and (as Kaz said) there would be four half-hours. [8] As far as he was aware, the show would still be staffed by series veterans, production began a few months before, and these episodes were likely part of the fourth season. It was likely that these episodes weren't coming before the movie, (although stranger things had happened) and it was possible that they wouldn't even come at all (Lender said "Nick would be crazy not to make more but I wouldn't bet my life on them following through---they're famously fickle about these things.") [9]

However, luck had turned its way, because by September 2004, the season was publicly announced, gaining a 15 or 16-episode extension to make another 20-episode season. [1] In November 2004, Tom Kenny , Bill Fagerbakke , and the rest of the crew confirmed that they had completed four new episodes for broadcast on Nickelodeon in early 2005, [10] [11] and planned to finish about 20 total for the then-fourth season. [10] [11] In particular, Kenny said, "Kids were happy watching them for the 3,000th time. It was the parents who've been busting my chops for new episodes." [12] He remarked that it would be "the same show, the same sponge." [12]

Originally, the season was pushed ahead to premiere on Monday, January 17 , 2005 , but it wasn't delivered on time and ended up debuting on its originally intended airdate. [13] It was also considered to air on May 10 [14] and May 24 . [15]

Throughout the year, more episode titles and premises would be rumored and confirmed. The first was "Fear of a Krabby Patty" on February 4 . [16] " Mermaid Man & Barnacle Boy VI: The Motion Picture " was confirmed on February 23 . [17] An episode featuring Krabs' mom and Patchy were confirmed on February 26 [18] ; the first would be " Enemy In-Law ," and the other would end up being " Have You Seen This Snail? " While the latter didn't necessarily feature Patchy, he made a small cameo in the opening and helped market the episode.

"Molting," the original title for " Shell of a Man " was confirmed on March 17 . [19]

The original plot of " Dunces and Dragons " was confirmed on April 24 . [20]

" SquidBob TentaclePants " was rumored as early as May 10 . [21]

List of episodes

  • Season 2 of The Patrick Star Show also did not premiere while the previous season was still airing, having aired one day after the end of season 1.
  • However, Season 14 was the second season to not premiere while the previous was still airing.
  • The first seven episodes of this season were copyrighted in late 2004, the next seven were copyrighted in 2005, and the rest of the episodes from this season were copyrighted in 2006. This marks out a period of three years during that time.
  • Beginning with this season, episodes now have their sisters normally premiere as 11-minute increments and rarely premiere them together, which was used earlier with " Hooky "/" Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II " and " Shanghaied "/" Gary Takes a Bath ."
  • Despite Stephen Hillenburg lending the showrunner role over to the former, he had a small advisory role in which he reviewed each episode and offered suggestions to the show's production crew.
  • This is the first season to have Barry Anthony compose music for the show. He would continue to compose new music for future seasons until he retired in 2014, and later passed away in 2016.
  • The only exception is the UK and Ireland, as it becomes PAL-pitched in the next season.
  • This is the last season to have episodes released on VHS .

That's No Lady: A misunderstanding over a vacation getaway advertisement causes Patrick to think he must "get out of town" or face dire consequences. SpongeBob can't bear the thought of his best buddy moving away, so he decides to do what he can to hide Patrick's identity from his "pursuers." After many failed attempts at disguises, they finally settle on the perfect one: Patrick is transformed into a girl, Patricia to be exact. Patricia catches the eye of Mr. Krabs and soon she becomes the most charming waitress/waiter at the Krusty Krab. — NAS

Why this episode isn't squidtastic [ ]

Apparently the reason they believe this to be bad involved the following below:

Gross out: The title is anything but squidtastic as his clarinet reed is stuck in his own throat, which Squidward should be dead by now since he's literally choking on it.

Massive plot hole: The writers need an excuse to have Sandy to put them inside Squidward rather than grow it back to normal size to get them out. The same analogy applies to Someone's in the Kitchen with Sandy, where they need a reason to not have her take her suit to hunt down Plankton who stole her fur pelt.

Braindead Patrick: Patrick is way too stupid in this episode. He thinks Sandy is inside the control booth and destroys it by hitting it with a axe. The only time Patrick is smart is when he comes up with a plan on how to get out of Squidward's stomach.

Torture: Really now, fighting over the controls of the submarine? Do they even listen to themselves because they're going to kill him since they're striking his brain stem, even Sandy points this out to them.

Is there any hope left for Squidward by this point?

Ironically this episode was paired with the famous episode That's No Lady
