Journey over by fast ferry, passing Punta Campanella and admiring the entire peninsula from the deck. A minibus trip to Anacapri and Capri town tops off the day.Nowadays, it's the likes of George Clooney and Beyoncé who take their holidays on this ruggedly beautiful island. Get the red-carpet treatment as we start with a skip-the-line minibus trip to kick off your visit to Capri. In Anacapri, you'll enjoy a guided walking tour of the centre, taking in the Belvedere, where you can admire epic views of the jagged coastline. You'll also have free time to explore at your own pace.In the afternoon, it's back on the minibus to go to Capri town. Wander around its narrow alleys on a guided walking tour that ends by the Augustus Gardens. Your guide will point out where you can take the best photos of the Faraglioni rocks. Afterwards, enjoy free time to people watch in the bars, cafés and label-laden boutiques, or check out its half-dozen baroque churches.

Capri Island Boat Cruise from Maiori

Capri is a small island with a big reputation. On this boat trip, you'll cruise around it, with stops to take in famous natural landmarks as well as swim in the sea. There's also the option of a visit to the Blue Grotto. That's not all though – there'll be some free time in Capri town.Travelling from Maiori, you'll zoom over to Positano or Praiano port by speedboat. On arrival, you'll be welcomed aboard a traditional Sorrentine gozzo boat and sail across the Bay of Naples to Capri. Cruise past the Natural Arch, Santa Croce Bay and the fjord of Furore. There's also a photo stop at Marina di Praia. We'll then continue west, drifting by the Sirenuse Islands, locally known as Li Galli – ‘the Cocks'.Once we've reached Capri, you'll catch sight of the White Grotto, the Natural Arch, Villa Malaparte, Faraglioni Rocks, Marina Piccola and the Green Grotto for a swim. There's an optional visit into the Blue Grotto available, too. We'll then dock in Capri town for some free time for shopping. To round off the cruise, there'll be a swimming stop on the return to Maiori.

Pompeii & Herculaneum from Amalfi Coast

Frozen in time by tragedy, Pompeii and Herculaneum are a must-visit when in the Amalfi Coast. These two Roman cities were buried under volcanic ash following a catastrophic eruption by Mt Vesuvius in 79 AD. Its the first time i book a holiday package. I have always bought everything separately so i am not quite sure how some things work....

I bought direct from Tui website and transfer from the airport to the hotel is included.

I am wondering how do i find this coach at the airport? Will they be there on arrival or maybe i need to phone the hotel?

Also - it looks like we will arrive quite early before the designated hotel check in time.

What happens if i arrive too early? can i still enjoy the hotel facilities like using the pool or use their lunch service even though the room is not ready?

If anyone with previous Tui package holiday knowledge could share their stories would be lovely.

You have not mentioned where you are going so just a broad brushed answer -

Once you arrive at the overseas airport and have collected your baggage and cleared customs, as you leave you will either see uniformed TUI staff or a TUI arrival desk. TUI staff will take your name, where you are going and then direct you to a nearby numbered coach.

In some resorts they have also been trialing a text service which means on arrival a text comes through with your coach number.

You should be fine using the hotel facilities if your room is not ready and you arrive early.

Transfer information will only be available and appear in the App a few days before hand. Arrival transfer info possibly not until you land overseas.

We downloaded the app and received a text cpl days before telling us which number coach to look for outside the airport, however we spotted the reps just inside and approached them instead.

i cant see an option about coach transfer online, im looking to go to pathos, then go to the hotel cynthiana beach hotel, how do i arrange a coach transfer to there

Hi everyone.

TUI Taps Into African Tourism With Hotel Push

TUI is tapping into the booming African tourism market as it spreads its offerings throughout the continent.

TUI Group’s hotel division, TUI Hotels & Resorts , said on Tuesday it planned to expand its presence in sub-Saharan Africa, a region with significant tourism potential.

The move comes after years of concentrating on North Africa, where TUI boasts a portfolio of 76 hotels. The new push southwards includes eight new hotels planned for Cape Verde, Gambia, Senegal, Tanzania, and Kenya.

TUI’s Local Partnerships

The expansion is meant to serve a range of target groups, such as vacationers looking for more affordable trips to luxury travelers looking for elevated experiences.

The company said it’s “looking forward to contributing to the development of the African hospitality industry and working together with local communities,” but it didn’t go into detail about how those collaborations would happen, other than to call out TUI’s new hotel brand, The Mora, which is debuting in Zanzibar. 

“Our hotel brand TUI Blue, as well as the new brand The Mora, are committed to creating a local touch in their hotel experiences,” a TUI spokesperson said in response to a Skift query. “This can be achieved in many different ways, from local suppliers, e.g. for food-and-beverage, to entertainment from the region or in collaboration with local designers.”

The company says it is collaborating with Sands of Darakasi Resorts Limited to build a TUI Blue hotel in Kenya and that it is looking to partner with other local groups to grow the franchise in the region. 

“Independent hotel owners can benefit from our hotel brands, our expertise in operations, and the digital hotel infrastructure,” said a TUI spokesperson.

In East Africa, TUI focuses primarily on Mauritius, Tanzania, and Kenya.

There are several reasons that tour companies could be drawn to the market now.

“The likely reason that there is greater interest now by TUI in Africa is because [it offers] a low cost for a good product, there’s a greater marketing push from African destination marketing organizations in the European market, and there’s a potential substitution away from perceived risky Middle Eastern destinations because of current conflicts,” said Oliver Martin , Senior Director at Skift Advisory .

The Booming Africa Travel Market

TUI is also tapping into a young market. In 2023, The World Travel and Tourism Council projected that travel and tourism could boost the continent’s economy by $168 billion in the next 10 years.

There is particular potential for internal travel on the continent.

Domestic tourism in South Africa took off in 2023 , with overnight trips climbing by 31% for the first four months compared to 2022, and domestic travel spending increasing by 41%.

For now, domestic tourism is essential to the industry’s growth due to high travel costs and poor transportation networks within and between countries. The continent is also experiencing an unprecedented boom in its middle class, with numbers tripling to more than 310 million over the past 30 years.

“The push to market to and engage African nationals is relatively new,” says Martin. He attributes it to COVID, the rising middle class, and how difficult it can be to get visas outside Africa.

“However, Africa is by no means new to the European market,” he adds. “There is a long history of charter and all-inclusive European travel to East Coast Kenya destinations and Tanzania.”

TUI plans on taking advantage of this growing internal market, but also has its eyes on bigger markets. “South Africa and Kenya are strong local markets,” TUI’s spokesperson said. “But of course the hotels will also attract guests from Europe. At the same time, we are increasing our sales activities in Asia, e.g. China.”
