This tour gives you a unique perspective of a little bit of everything in 3 or 5 hours: must-see tourist sights, local hangouts, Russian food, a glimpse of the modern Moscow life, amazing photo opportunities, a bit of Russian history, and a lot of fun!

This is a great opportunity to cut the usual all day tour down to only 3 or 5 hours and get the most out of the city while having fun and being fit in the greatest locations around Moscow!

A bike trip is sure to capture your heart. It enables you to see the heart of Moscow within the Boulevard Ring and to explore some non-touristic areas of the city, to get an image of the city centre and to work out at the same time.

Our tours differ and depend on whether you are interested in city scenery or nature-like landscape. A variety of places in Moscow are great for riding a bike: these are large parks, yards with old mansions, and historical streets in the centre.

Let’s see what’s waiting for you!

Here are 4 suggested itineraries for a 3-hour tour:.

Moscow Bike Route #1

St. Basil's Cathedral, GUM, Kazan Cathedral, State Historical Museum and Lenin's Mausoleum

Moscow Bike Route #2

This route is the best one if you want to see the heart of Moscow. It goes right through the major places of interest and touches upon the most exciting and vibrant areas of Moscow such as part of the Boulevard Ring, which is absolutely loved by everyone.

Cozy streets of Zamoskvorechye will never leave you indifferent. This district has a long and vivid history and is full of old baroque houses along with Stalinist buildings. It includes three theatres, three museums and sixteen churches.

Back in the 18 th century Zamoskvorechye was known as a quiet, country-like land of single-storey houses and conservative businessmen. It remained country-like and is much more filled with business than before, as this area is just right in the city centre.

You’ll learn:

  • what was previously on the site of the Novokuznetskaya metro-station;
  • names of four abandoned metro stations and how to find these stations;
  • what is the oldest bridge among all the bridges in Moscow;
  • how old was Pavel Tretyakov when he decided to collect paintings, that are now exhibited in the Tretyakov gallery;
  • what does the real form of the Boulevard Ring in Moscow look like;
  • what tricks did the Russian government used to save the houses and buildings from bombing during the World War II;
  • what unofficial name the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky bridge has

Moscow Bike Route #3

View over the Kremlin - The Luzhkov Bridge –  The Strelka Institute –  The Muzeon Park –  The Gorky Park –  Neskuchny Garden –  Sparrow Hills –  The Luzhniki Stadium -  Novodevichy Convent – The Arbat Street – The Gogolevsky boulevard - The Cathedral of Christ the Savior –  The Bolotnaya Square

This route includes the most popular city-sights and goes along the Moskva-River. It starts with an observation point, from which you may enjoy the view over the Kremlin, and covers all the most beautiful green areas of Moscow. Historical sites are included into the route so you can feel the historical vibes of ancient Moscow.

  • where is hidden an island Moscow;
  • where in Moscow you can get printed music of the most sweet masterpieces like “Chocolate waltz” and “Cake-gallop” along with a box of chocolates of the 18 th century;
  • why the Luzhkov bridge is also called “the bridge of kisses”;
  • the place where the famous Olympic symbol – the Olympic Bear of the Olympics-1980 was flown from;
  • the stage where Rolling Stones and Madonna performed when they came to Moscow;
  • why the Krymsky bridge was Stalin’s favourite bridge and what musical instrument it represents;

  • what was supposed to be on the site where the Cathedral of Christ the Savior is now;
  • why Moscow was nearly burnt down in the 15 th century and which role the Arbat street played in it.

Moscow Bike Route #4

Starting with wide area of the VDNKh, you are to learn interesting and fun facts about this spectacular part of Moscow.

  • where is a hidden the secret bunker under Moscow (and no, it’s not a famous Bunker 42 everybody knows about;
  • why the number of golden statues at the fountain is more than the number of Soviet republics, although it is said to correspond them;
  • why one of the Stalin statues was called “matryoshka” (Russian doll);
  • what was Picasso’s favourite statue at the exhibition in Paris in 1937.

You’ll see:

Tour the Ojai, California, Home of an LA Design Star

By Mayer Rus

Photography by Roger Davies

Tour the Ojai California Home of an LA Design Star

As a partner in the beloved Los Angeles decorative arts gallery Blackman Cruz , Adam Blackman naturally has access to a cornucopia of furnishings, objets d’art, and artwork spanning centuries. He’s got the pick of the litter. So it’s only logical that clients and devotees of the Blackman Cruz aesthetic (recently captured in the book Beauty & Mischief: The Design Alchemy of Blackman Cruz ) should be curious about the weekend getaway he shares with his wife, graphic designer Kate Blackman. Which treasures have the couple set aside for their personal pleasure? How do you decorate a home when you have a veritable king’s ransom in extraordinary furniture to choose from?

The site for these ruminations is a modest yet soulful home originally built in 1959 amid lush orange groves in Ojai, California. “We chose Ojai because of its proximity to LA. We wanted something easily accessible but still a world away from the hubbub of the city,” Adam explains. “Ojai has the feeling of old Greenwich Village or Venice [California] in the 1980s—a place with real energy, excitement, and eccentricity. It has a small-town feeling and a real sense of community. We’ve socialized more in Ojai than we have in 25 years of living in LA,” he adds.

“At first, we were looking for an older house, perhaps something from the 1920s. We weren’t thinking about another midcentury,” Kate says, referencing the couple’s classic A. Quincy Jones–designed home in the city. “The Ojai place has the character of a midcentury, but it skews much more rustic. Ultimately, it was the garden—the pepper trees, oaks, and agaves—that really sold us.”

In addition to the primary residence, the verdant compound encompasses a petite guesthouse, a studio/entertainment pavilion, and small garden and storage sheds. “Our approach to the renovation was strategic editing to pare everything back to the original vision. It was all about simplifying, organizing, and bolstering that indoor-outdoor connection so that the landscape, both near and far, is part of the experience,” Adam notes. As a case in point, he describes the installation of broad windows in the living room to capture views of Ojai’s Chief Peak.

The decorating portion of the renovation, although chockablock with fine furniture, does not flaunt its design trophies. Instead, the decor revels in alluring objects more closely aligned with the idiosyncratic spirit of the homeowners—pieces perfectly suited to the unpretentious character of the property and the community. In the studio, for example, one’s eye immediately alights on a 1960s aluminum Jetboard, a rare motorized surfboard conceived by Alfred Bloomingdale, scion of Bloomingdale’s empire. Installed as a wall-hanging sculpture, the surfboard joins a 12-foot-long sofa and a massive cocktail table of marble and brass, both set atop a Sarouk rug handed down from Adam’s grandma Rose.

In the dining room, a 1965 Pablo Picasso wall hanging of an abstracted mountain scene nods to the Ojai terrain. “It’s one of the pieces we acquired specifically for this house. It mirrors the view on the other side of the room,” Adam says of the Picasso textile, which is joined by a vintage Danish dining table and a chandelier from the Blackman Cruz Workshop collection. Another BC creation—a cocktail table of dripping bronze—anchors the living room in the primary residence, where it rests near a side table by Mexican designer Pepe Mendoza, whose work is represented throughout the home. In the home office, signature creations by an eccentric coterie of boldface names—Claes Oldenburg, Carlo Bugatti, Børge Mogensen—rub shoulders amicably, sparking intriguing design conversations. Mixed with other great furnishings of no particular pedigree or provenance, these 20th-century masters feel delightfully at ease in chez Blackman.

“We tried to cultivate a relaxed, comfortable vibe rather than an assemblage of ‘important’ design. It’s not about fine decorating or fancy living here,” Kate says of the overriding sensibility. Adam seconds the notion: “This place is our refuge from the hell of the city.”

Step inside the grand suites on the world's most famous train, which start at $26,000 a night and come with around-the-clock butler service

  • The Venice Simpon-Orient-Express is a luxury overnight train in Europe.
  • The train's grand suite, starting at $26,000 a night, is the top tier of accommodation.
  • Each grand suite has a private bathroom with a rainfall showerhead and extravagant decor.

Insider Today

Hundred-year-old carriages from the Orient Express fleet make up the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express , Belmond's revamp of the iconic luxury sleeper train. With 60 routes in 17 cities, the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is perhaps the most luxurious train in Europe . Prices start at $9,000 a night.

The train's top-tier accommodation is a grand suite. With a starting rate of $26,000 a night, these rooms are filled with luxury details and amenities unique to any other cabin on board, from a private shower to around-the-clock butler service.

Business Insider recently took a tour of the rooms as a cabin steward explained the details of each suite.

Look inside the train's most extravagant accommodations to peek at the luxury journey of a lifetime.

The Venice Simplon-Orient-Express is the epitome of luxury train travel in Europe.

hambik tours photos

Guests are welcomed on red carpets for an overnight journey with lavishly decorated vintage carriages, fine dining restaurants, and jaw-dropping views of passing scenery.

The train has six grand suite accommodations — each with a unique design.

hambik tours photos

Grand suites are the third tier of accommodation — one step above a suite and two steps above a historic cabin .

Each grand suite is inspired by a city on the train's routes, including Venice, Vienna, Istanbul, Budapest, and Prague.

They all include a couch, a double bed that can be converted into two twins, a dining area, and a full en-suite bathroom.

All six have a full bathroom with a rainfall showerhead.

hambik tours photos

Each bathroom has a glass-blown sink, heated marble flooring, and a rainfall showerhead.

Grand-suite guests also get complimentary bathrobes and slippers.

Next to each bathroom is a closet with additional storage space so guests can fully unpack and feel at home.

Each has a dining area, too.

hambik tours photos

Grand-suite guests are greeted with caviar upon arrival and can dine in their rooms rather than in the restaurant cars if they prefer.

They also get 24-hour butler service and bottomless champagne for the entire journey, the cabin steward told BI.

The Venice grand suite fuses Italian Baroque and Renaissance design.

hambik tours photos

Venetian furniture, vintage glass light fixtures, and a combination of silk and woven fabrics fill this suite with a historic Italian ambiance. Navy-blue velvets are reminiscent of the train's exterior.

The headboard combining arches and sharp edges may remind one of the Renaissance castles in Italy .

Emerald and golden details mark the Vienna suite.

hambik tours photos

The suite has a classic feel with dark wood contrasting gold trimmings.

According to a Belmond fact sheet obtained by BI, the headboard backing is made of silk to evoke a sense of elegance. Its curved shape and the tassel detailing in the bed's skirt may remind travelers of the historic city's regal palaces .

The Istanbul suite feels like a Turkish palace.

hambik tours photos

Shiny, hand-carved wood from the furniture to the walls is a work of art. For those who have been to the Turkish city of Istanbul , the embossed leather and fabric embroiderings may bring back memories of the city's opulent offerings at the famous and historic Grand Bazaar market .

Gothic and Ottoman architectural styles inspired the Budapest suite.

hambik tours photos

The Budapest suite is decorated with ornate marquetry and furniture with embroidered silk patterns. The tall, curved headboard may remind travelers of Gothic cathedrals and mosques that date back to the Ottoman Empire .

The Paris suite is meant to evoke romantic vibes.

hambik tours photos

Inspired by the city's architecture, the Paris suite nods to art deco elements, classical facades, and the city's high-fashion reputation with a geometric headboard and detailed wooden marquetry.

And finally, the Prague suite nods to the city's theatrical culture.

hambik tours photos

Maroon and gold are the colors of the Prague suite to bring travelers a sense of the city's theater scene . Mosaic patterns inspired by cubism fill the walls, and cushions embroidered by hand add luxury details to the furniture.

Travis Kelce Thinks It's 'Cool' That Taylor Swift's Fans Are Wearing His Chiefs Jersey to Eras Tour Concerts

Actually, he thinks it's cool when people wear his jersey *anywhere*

Perry Knotts/Getty; Ashok Kumar/TAS24/Getty Images for TAS Rights Management

Travis Kelce knows all too well how dedicated Taylor Swift 's fans are.

Now that he's fully living in her world, he's earned his own new crop of fans — and they're showing their allegiance to the Kansas City Chiefs tight end. And while they may have shown their loyalty at Chiefs games before the season ended, they've also taken to showing their loyalty at Swift's Eras Tour concerts.

While Swift has taken her show on the road to Australia and now Singapore, her fans have turned up wearing #87 jerseys. Travis and his brother, Jason Kelce, have taken notice.

Lisa Maree Williams/Getty

"There was a good amount," Travis said to his brother on this week's episode of their  New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce  podcast . "There's a good American football crowd out there [in Australia]. And, I think, just Taylor fans, so they wanted to show their support."

Jason asked his brother how it felt to see his jersey at all these shows, to which Travis replied, "It's pretty f---ing cool to just have your jersey being worn, even it's just on a day or at a football game."

Tim Nwachukwu/Getty

Kelce, 34, also praised Swift , 34, after his trip to Australia to  watch her during her Eras Tour .

“A lot of false media being tossed out there. But I’ll tell you what wasn’t false, and it was when I landed in Australia and seen all the cameras,” Travis said.

Describing the  zoo he visited in Sydney  with Swift, the NFL star added, “There were full-on helicopters just flying around. They helicoptered us! Well, not us, Taylor.”

“This is all because Taylor is the biggest and the best thing possible,” Travis added.

PATRICK T. FALLON/AFP via Getty

The Chiefs' defensive coach Dave Merritt would agree that Swift is pretty great and has made a "positive" impact on Travis .

Merritt, 52, appeared on an episode of  The Sports Shop Podcast With Reese & K-Mac at the end of February ,  where he discussed the "Karma" singer's influence.

"I felt like she actually added to what it was that we were trying to do," Merritt began.

Explaining that "because there were so many people that were hating the fact that she was being shown on the TV," the Chiefs players and coaches embraced her as "part of our family because you're with Travis."

“So, therefore, you’re our little sister…. You’re part of our family," Merritt said.

The Kansas City defensive coach said that Swift "actually affected the team in a positive way" during their season. "It wasn’t a negative way. Everybody was excited and Travis was happy. So when my player, a brother, is happy beside me, that helps me and that encourages me, and so Travis came in there a different man. So, she helped us."
