Queen + Adam Lambert’s 150-minute career-spanning set list celebrates the band’s extraordinary back catalogue, lining up wall-to-wall immortal anthems like “We Will Rock You”, “Don’t Stop Me Now”, “Radio Ga Ga”, and “Somebody To Love” alongside classic deep cuts and vintage fan favourites. Featuring a dazzling state-of-the-art stage design, incredible special effects and set pieces, this sense-swamping extravaganza has been blowing critics and fans away the world over.

As with last year’s UK and European dates, the 2023 North American tour will see Queen + Adam Lambert supported on stage by their regular band members, long-serving Queen keyboard player and musical director Spike Edney, bass guitarist Neil Fairclough and percussionist Tyler Warren.

Having extensively toured over the last few years, the Rhapsody show is forever evolving. But it remains at heart a tribute to Freddie Mercury’s majestic legacy, a confirmation of Brian and Roger’s undimmed musical prowess, plus a magnificent showcase for Adam’s vocal skills and electrifying stage charisma, all of which adds up to a glorious full-blooded celebration of one of the greatest songbooks in rock history. TICKETS: Tickets will be available via a general onsale beginning Friday, March 31st at 10AM local time at LiveNation.com .

MORE ON TICKETS:

Queen + Adam Lambert appreciate that it is an enormous task to try and stop scalpers from taking advantage of fans wanting to purchase tickets for the tour. In an effort to help minimize resale and keep ticket prices at face value for fans, the band are collaborating with the venues’ ticketing partners to restrict the ability to transfer tickets for The Rhapsody Tour so that they may only be transferred between fans at the original price.

Fans will still have protection against unforeseen circumstances. Those who purchase tickets and are no longer able to attend their show will be able to sell their tickets at the price they paid using a face value ticket exchange, including the Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange – which is free to use for buyers and sellers. More information on how the Ticketmaster Exchange works is available here .

Unfortunately, the states of NY, IL, and CO have laws in place which protect ticket scalpers – these laws prohibit artists from being able to restrict the transfer of their tickets to face value exchanges only. For shows in these states, Queen + Adam Lambert strongly encourage fans to only buy or sell tickets to one another on face value exchanges. More information can be found here , with more details to follow in the coming weeks.

Queen + Adam Lambert Announce 2023 North American ‘Rhapsody’ Tour Dates

  • By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

Queen + Adam Lambert are bringing their Rhapsody Tour back to North America for their first shows on this side of the Atlantic since 2019. The tour kicks off Oct. 4 in Baltimore, Maryland, and wraps up Nov. 11 in Los Angeles, California.

“This tour has lots of new bells and lots of new whistles,” Queen guitarist Brian May tells Rolling Stone . “We’ve evolved as performers, I think. We’ve stepped up our game. We have better chemistry than ever. We understand each other better than ever, and we feel more free in the way that we interpret stuff. We’re very happy with it. There’s lots of new production and stuff we want to excite you with.”

The set will focus on Queen classics like “Another One Bites The Dust,” “Somebody to Love,” and “Radio Ga Ga.” But they sprinkled in deep cuts like “Tear It Up” and “A King of Magic” in Europe last year, and hope to keep doing that.

“This show has evolved since its been in America since we’ve taken it around the world,” adds drummer Roger Taylor. “It’s quite a different show in a way, while retaining all the big hits, which so many people want to hear.”

Ticket sales begin Friday, March 31. In an effort to keep prices low and reduce scalping, the band is going to utilize the Ticketmaster Face Value Exchange, which makes it impossible to sell tickets for more than face value. “It’s an experiment,” says May. “We got sick of seeing our fans get ripped off by scalpers. We’re hoping this works out.”

Queen + Adam Lambert first played together on the 2009 finale of American Idol. They began gigging together in 2012, and have stayed on the road consistently over the past decade. Filling in for Freddie Mercury was a daunting task at first for Lambert, but he’s grown very comfortable with the job over the years.

“I feel less anxiety now,” he says. “I’ve matured as a performer. I trust myself a bit more. I will say that when the movie [ Bohemian Rhapsody ] came out, we had all these new fans, and many of them were young, I felt this little pang of, ‘Oh, these are new fans that haven’t been to a show yet.’ I needed to prove myself again, which is good. It keeps me on my game.”

The 2018 movie was an enormous success that grossed $911 million and won four Academy Awards, including Best Actor for star Rami Malek. It ends at Live Aid in 1985, and there’s been scattered talk over the past few years of a sequel that would chronicle Mercury’s final years.

“We need a script,” says May. “That’s what it comes down to. It took us 12 years to get the script for Bohemian Rhapsody , and get the right team in place. I’m not anxious. I think if the right thing comes along, it might work. We have our wonderful producer, Graham King, on it. It’s a possibility. If the right planets align, it might happen.”

At the moment, this next leg of the Rhapsody Tour is just 14 shows, but it’s very possible they’ll tack on more. “People are buying tickets,” says Lambert. “And hey, we like performing.”

Queen and Adam Lambert kick off tour with pomp, vigor and the spirit of Freddie Mercury

what is queen tour

BALTIMORE – Who knew we needed the dazzling showmanship, the unmatched catalog of layered pop rock and the undiminished musicianship of Queen + Adam Lambert this much?

The band rooted by original guitarist (and noted astrophysicist) Sir Brian May and suave drummer Roger Taylor hasn’t played stateside in four years, when its Rhapsody tour first launched.

On Wednesday, at the first of two shows at Baltimore’s CFG Bank Arena, the Queen + Lambert extravaganza reignited for a 23-date tour that will run through November in all of its garish glory.

Here are some highlights from the tour kickoff, a 27-song master class in potent songs and delicate homage with the magnetic Lambert its humble ringleader.

What songs do Queen + Adam Lambert play on the 2023 Rhapsody tour?

Playing off the futuristic feel of the staging – lots of chrome and robots on video screens – the band kicked off the two-hour-plus show with “Radio Ga Ga,” the hand-clapping 1984 hit that found the platinum-haired Lambert strutting the stage in a silver breastplate and cape .

Though the band brought the Rhapsody production to Europe last summer, the set list has been jiggled and peppered with some different songs, including the rough-riffing “Stone Cold Crazy” – played for the first time since 2018 – and the magnificently theatrical “The Show Must Go On.”

Queen also unveiled “Is This the World We Created…?” from 1984’s “The Works” album, which has never been played in the decade that Lambert has fronted the band. Sitting at the end of a catwalk with only May, 76, on acoustic guitar, Lambert showcased the purity of his versatile voice on the ballad.

The multigenerational crowd also lapped up plenty of well-worn classic rock radio staples. “Another One Bites the Dust” needed only its opening bass notes from Neil Fairclough for recognition; “Somebody to Love” spotlighted a soulful Lambert spreading his multi-octave voice across the song; and “Bohemian Rhapsody” wrapped the pre-encore set instilled with Lambert’s dramatic entrance from beneath the stage, May sporting a mirrored jumpsuit amid a blizzard of lights and the original Queen video for the song employed to handle the tricky operatic passage in the song.

How does Freddie Mercury factor into the Queen + Adam Lambert tour?

The naysayers who contend that Queen has been nothing but a cover band with Lambert at the helm need to take a seat. Lambert’s respect for Mercury has always been palpable, and at Wednesday’s show, you could see his subtle nods to the original Queen frontman, who died in 1991.

Mercury surely would have swooned at the ornately decorated rotating motorcycle that Lambert sat atop – complete with a crotch cam – for the pairing of “Bicycle Race” and “Fat Bottomed Girls” and grinned at Lambert’s shoulder shimmies worthy of Liza Minnelli in her prime during an adrenalized “Don’t Stop Me Now.”

But Mercury was remembered in a more direct way when Lambert, 41, praised the “two rock ‘n’ roll legends” sharing the stage with him and continued with, “We do this with Freddie in our hearts, and I know he’s in your heart.”

A couple of songs later, May, as he has done on past tours, took a solo turn at the edge of the catwalk to sing “Love of My Life” in a tender voice. It was a chill-inducing moment when he asked the crowd to hold up their lighted phones (“In the old days it used to be candles,” he joked) while footage of Mercury crooning the ballad appeared in split screen with May on the overhead curved video screen.

Who else is playing with Queen + Adam Lambert?

While the sweetly grinning May mesmerized with his distinctive guitar lines throughout the show and Taylor, dapper in a black tie and vest, steamrolled through demanding songs at age 74, the multilayered construction of the band’s songs require a bit more of a lift.

Joining May, Taylor, Lambert and Fairclough were longtime keyboardist and musical director Spike Edney and percussionist Tyler Warren, who frequently jammed alongside Taylor on these musically precise classics.

With a combination of exceptional lighting and voluminous slices of lasers, the scorched-earth singing of Lambert and the continued expert presentation from May and Taylor, this Rhapsody tour doesn’t feel like a victory lap, but, rather, a deeper solidifying of Queen’s legacy.

After a  four-year-long hiatus, Sir Brian May, Roger Taylor and their exceptional frontman Adam Lambert have announced they will set out on a spectacular North America run this fall.

ONSALE: Tickets will be available via a general onsale beginning Friday, March 31 at 10 A.M. local venue time HERE .

As Queen + Adam Lambert announced, they have also set terms in place to minimize scalping and get tickets into the hands of fans at the prices they set. Here is some important info:

  • TICKETS WILL HAVE RESTRICTED TRANSFER : Ticketmaster will be following the artist’s terms and any tickets sold on our platform will be non-transferable to prevent tickets from being resold for a profit. (Please note: This does not apply to tickets purchased for tour dates in New York, Illinois, and Colorado, where state laws prohibit artists from restricting resale.)
  • TICKETS CAN ONLY BE RESOLD AT ORIGINAL PRICE : To give fans flexibility if their plans change, the tour will utilize Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange, which allows fans to sell their tickets for the price they paid, including fees and taxes. The exchange is free to use for buyers and sellers. That way, if a fan can’t make the show, they have a way to get their money back while making another fan’s night.

The Face Value Exchange will be launched at a later date, and we will keep this page updated with more details in the coming weeks.

What does it mean if a ticket has restricted transfer?

If you can no longer attend a show, you can sell your tickets for the price you paid, including fees and taxes, using Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange. Important note: Fans should not attempt to purchase tickets from sites outside of those made available on the Face Value Exchange. Queen and Adam Lambert

Since joining forces in 2011, Queen + Adam Lambert have quickly become one of the most successful touring acts in the world — and now, they’re ready to prove why.

Queen Release Stirring Lost Track Featuring Freddie Mercury Vocals, ‘Face It Alone’

Trending on billboard.

Billboard caught up with May, Lambert and Roger Taylor ahead of their official announcement, where the trio talked about what fans can expect from the new show, their favorite songs to perform live, and why “this is not a farewell tour,” according to May.

This is the first time in four years that the three of you will be touring the U.S. together, following your European tour last year — how are you feeling ahead of hitting the road this fall?

Brian May:  It’s incredible, yeah. I think we all learned in COVID how much we really missed this. It was really tough for everybody. We already did our big outing in Europe, but with a lot of restrictions on that; we had a very strict protocol just to get through, because people were going down like flies. But we managed to get through that whole tour without losing a date, and it was all sold-out, packed, fantastic and better than ever, I think. So we thought, “Well, we just have to get back to the states.”

Outside of those restrictions, were there any significant learning curves you had to navigate in a post-COVID touring environment last year?

May:  Oh, yeah.

Taylor:  We were changing it and improving it as we went, and we are now going through all of those improvements again when it comes to this American leg.

I’ve noticed that the phrase “one more time” has been thrown around quite a bit when it comes to this tour — are you planning on this being Queen + Adam Lambert’s final outing?

May:  Let me be clear, this is not a farewell tour. You can always do one more time … and then one more time … and then another time after that!

Adam Lambert:  [laughs] Yeah, why limit yourself, guys?

Taylor:  It’s just a simple, five year farewell tour, right?

Queen Guitarist Brian May Knighted by King Charles at Buckingham Palace

When it comes to the “improvements” you’ve made to the show, what can fans expect to see that’s new with this leg of The Rhapsody Tour?

May:  Well, we’re not gonna tell you  that  much, we don’t want to spoil it. [laughs] But the nice things is that the material is what ultimately gives the ideas, and we’re able to develop those ideas as we go along. We get to throw more and more stuff in, production-wise.

Lambert:  I will say, the technology has come so far, even in the 10 years that we’ve worked together. It gives us so much freedom when it comes to what we want to create, what environment we want to put around a song. We have all of these toys that we get to play with, which we all get a big kick out of. We have an amazing creative team that work with us — I mean, we add something in a couple of days if we have a cool idea. Once the show kicks off, the show is never locked. It’s never the same show every night, we have the ability to throw a new song in, move the set around, change the visuals. There’s so much freedom.

Lambert:  I’d say a couple of glasses of wine and a chat, yeah?

May:  [laughs] I mean, we also always do a soundcheck. The soundcheck is the key thing for us, I think. Every time we go into a new city and set things up, we’ll go into a soundcheck for two or three hours sometimes. When we’re doing that, we’ll try new stuff out, and our team is so flexible with us, that we’ll just throw out, “Can you give us a certain lighting effect, can you do stuff on the screens?” And they’ll build it on the spot for us. We don’t work on backing tracks or anything, which means we can kind of do anything we want. And we’re really fortunate to have a technical team that can handle that — a lot of this stuff is programmed to work at pretty exact intervals, and ours is all human touch, which gives it that live feel.

Lambert:  Also, when we add a song sort of impromptu, we don’t like to over-rehearse it. We play it in that soundcheck and maybe one more soundcheck, and then we throw it in. It makes it really fun, like it’s a thrill-seeking activity, where we just go for it and see what happens.

Brian, I wanted to congratulate you on your recent knighting from King Charles III — what was that experience like for you?

And Adam, congratulations on your  High Drama  covers album — were there any big covers you wanted to include that didn’t quite make the cut?

Lambert:  There were definitely a couple others I was considering, but it was a very thought-out project, so we weren’t wasting a lot of time or energy in the studio. We did it so quick, probably recorded those over about two months. I’m so happy with it, even though I did not write those songs, it felt like I was getting creative in the studio to find new ways to make them sound. That was such a cool challenge for me.

Queen has one of the most prolific songbooks in modern rock music. Obviously there are the core set of hits that you’re gonna play almost no matter what — do you have any favorites in particular to perform that maybe aren’t as monolithic?

May:  You know, there’s some stuff that we know would be very difficult — Roger mentioned “The Millionaire Waltz” once.

Taylor:  [laughs] Oh yeah, I don’t know if we could pull that off.

May:  But a lot of the stuff we do anyways is fairly complex — the key is you don’t play the record. We really play how we feel on the stage. It’s funny, some people would call that a bluff, but there’s a lot of multi-track guitar harmonies in a lot of our songs, and I don’t do that onstage and I don’t use trickery to achieve it. I play what I’m feeling, and people hear that and get a purely live version of the song. No extra frills, because to me, recording has always been different than performing live.

Taylor:  Sometimes, the song gains a whole new dimension of excitement from that. But the live version will not be exactly the same as the record — that’s not what we’re about.

Lambert:  As far as the setlist goes, I think we’re all aware of what the fan favorites are. But the most important thing here is that, sure, we need to have fun, but the audience is buying a ticket to see the show. This is about their evening and giving them a show that feels fresh. We are keenly aware of what the favorites are and we try to include the big hits every night — they have a  lot  of hits, so it’s a lot to choose from. But it’s a two-plus hour show, so we’ve got plenty of time to get those big hits.

Tickets for The Rhapsody Tour officially go on sale Friday, March 31 at 10 a.m. local time on LiveNation.com .

Having first launched their universally acclaimed Rhapsody Tour with 26 epic shows across North America during June & July 2019, Queen + Adam Lambert are taking their highly acclaimed production, now expanded and updated, back to where it first began.

Sir Brian May, Roger Taylor and their exceptional frontman Adam Lambert are returning for a further spectacular North American run of sold out shows which gets underway next week with its opening show Wednesday October 4 in Baltimore.

Promising an “even more ambitious show”, the band’s 23-date US tour begins October 4 with the first of two shows at Baltimore’s CFG Bank Arena continuing throughout North America including stops in Toronto, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago, Dallas, Denver and further cities before closing out with a pair of dates at Los Angeles’s BMO Stadium November 11 and 12. In addition, the band will perform a special one-off headliner on October 21 at the Formula 1 Lenovo U.S. Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas, Austin, Texas.

One Saturday In Hammersmith: Dire Straits’ First Live Album ‘Alchemy’

Brian May says, “We’re still calling our show “The Rhapsody Tour,” but the content has evolved massively from when you last saw it. New toys, new takes, but all the hits and more.”

Says Adam Lambert says: “I consider it a beautiful twist of fate that I was put on a path that aligned me with Brian and Roger. I can’t wait to tour North America one more time alongside the two unbelievably talented legends that are Brian May and Roger Taylor.”

Roger Taylor adds: “Adam is certainly a real force on stage. It’s been nothing but a riotously funny and enjoyable journey with him. He is simply one of the best vocalists in the world – FACT!”

Queen + Adam Lambert’s 150-minute career-spanning set list celebrates the band’s extraordinary back catalogue, lining up immortal anthems like “We Will Rock You”, “Don’t Stop Me Now”, “Radio Ga Ga”, and “Somebody To Love” alongside classic deep cuts and vintage fan favourites.

Featuring a dazzling state-of-the-art stage design, incredible special effects and set pieces, this sense-swamping extravaganza has been blowing critics and fans away the world over since its very first unveiling in North America in 2019 .

It has been over a year since the band last toured their acclaimed “Rhapsody Tour,” which was highlighted across the world in royal fashion Saturday June 4, 2022 with a special performance in front of London’s Buckingham Palace as the opener for the Platinum Jubilee concert celebrating the late H.M. Queen Elizabeth’s 70-year reign, providing an altogether magnificent opener for its UK & European run of sold-out dates which saw the band play the Rhapsody tour across the UK and 11 countries throughout Europe, in all playing a total of 36 concerts.

The 2023 North American tour will see Queen + Adam Lambert supported on stage by their regular band members, long-serving Queen keyboard player Spike Edney, bass guitarist Neil Fairclough and percussionist Tyler Warren.

Having extensively toured since it first debuted in North America in 2019, the Rhapsody show is forever evolving. But it remains at heart a tribute to Freddie Mercury’s majestic legacy, a confirmation of Brian and Roger’s undimmed musical prowess, plus a magnificent showcase for Adam’s vocal skills and electrifying stage charisma, all adding up to a glorious full-blooded celebration of one of the greatest songbooks in rock history.

Adam Lamber (L) and Brian May jam out onstage together.

Forget karaoke — starting in October, you can sing along with the band that brought classics like “Bohemian Rhapsody” to the world.

After a four-year hiatus, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group Queen is returning to the road with lead singer Adam Lambert for their 14-concert ‘Rhapsody Tour’ that will send them to arenas all over North America from Oct. 4 through Nov. 11.

On the brief tour, the band that inspired the Oscar-nominated film “Bohemian Rhapsody” will bring all the hits like “Under Pressure,” “Fat Bottomed Girls,” “We Will Rock You,” “Another One Bites The Dust,” “Somebody To Love” and so many more to the Big Apple when they play New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Oct. 12.

And don’t worry — the ‘Rhapsody Tour’ isn’t just a rehash of Queen’s greatest hits.

“This is about giving (fans) a show that feels fresh,” singer Adam Lambert said in an interview with Billboard . “We are keenly aware of what the favorites are and we try to include the big hits every night — they have a lot of hits, so it’s a lot to choose from.”

Need tickets to hear fresh versions of “We Are The Champions,” “You’re My Best Friend” and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” now?

Not a problem.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, March 31, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Queen 2023 tour schedule

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues and links to the cheapest tickets available for each ‘Rhapsody Tour’ concert can be found below.

Queen band members

There may never have been a more high-profile lead singer replacement for a band than Adam Lambert assuming Freddie Mercury’s place back in 2011.

Who’s playing behind the 41-year-old former “American Idol” finalist though?

Well, original members drummer Roger Taylor and recently knighted guitarist Sir Brian May are still around 53 years after the band formed in 1970.

“These are kind of new glory days for us,” said May in an interview with Variety .

They’ll be joined by Spike Edney on keyboards and rhythm guitar, Neil Fairclough will handle bass and Tyler Warren plays percussion and drums.

Edney, Fairclough and Warren also provide backup vocals.

Queen set list

Not many bands have a three-disc Greatest Hits album.

Queen does though.

That being said, it’s not easy to distill a legendary catalog into a single concert — classics like “Flash” might not make the cut.

Based on past gigs, here’s what you can expect to hear on this tour based on their 2019 U.S. concert set lists.

01.) “Now I’m Here”

02.) “Seven Seas of Rhye” 03.) “Keep Yourself Alive”

04.) “Hammer to Fall”

05.) “Killer Queen”

06.) “Don’t Stop Me Now”

07.) “In the Lap of the Gods… Revisited”

08.) “Somebody to Love”

11.) “Another One Bites the Dust”

12.) “I Want It All”

13.) “Love of My Life”

14.) “’39”

15.) “Doing All Right”

16.) “Crazy Little Thing Called Love”

The production features a dazzling state-of-the-art stage design, incredible special effects and set pieces.

Watch them perform “Fat Bottomed Girls” during Act 2 on opening night

Midway through Act 4, Lambert and Taylor performed co-lead vocals on “Under Pressure.”

Having extensively toured over the last few years, the Rhapsody show is forever evolving. Freddie’s performance with Queen at Wembley in 1986 kicked off the evening’s encores, and continued as the band played “We Will Rock You.”

How The Eras Tour’s Livestream Queen Perfected Her Craft

Tess Bohne handles the tech and time differences so Swifties can watch every show.

If you’ve been on TikTok at all in the past year, you’ve likely seen plenty of grainy, blurry livestreams of Taylor Swift strumming her guitar as part of the Eras Tour acoustic set . Chances are, the account behind the video belonged to Tess Bohne, aka @tessdear , the tour’s very own livestream queen.

The 33-year-old went to Night 2 of the Eras Tour in Glendale, Arizona, making the trip from her home in Utah. Soon after, she discovered the magic of livestreams, and it wasn’t long until she learned how to run them herself. With more than 530,000 followers on TikTok, Bohne’s account has become a go-to for Swifties hoping to watch the Eras Tour in real time. One of her followers summed it up: “You’re really the swiftie mvp .”

Bohne’s page is known as a one-stop shop for anyone hoping to watch the Eras Tour live — she does the work of finding fans who are at the concert IRL, then she consolidates their livestreams as best she can to broadcast for her followers. But Bohne’s system wasn’t always so seamless.

“It’s been a learn-as-I-go thing,” she tells Elite Daily. She started out with two iPads and a computer, each playing a different livestream. “If one went down, I’d take the iPad and switch it out.” She added sticky notes to each device, crediting the creator who was currently streaming.

Things have changed as her following has grown. “Now, I’m on a computer and do a screen capture of the livestream, so my account is showing exactly what the livestream is showing,” Bohne explains. On show nights, she syncs up the clearest video with the best audio and adds in a countdown clock to the surprise songs .

Screenshot of Tess Bohne during a TikTok livestream of the Eras Tour

Here, Bohne shares the behind-the-scenes details of livestreaming the Eras Tour for thousands of Swifties, her favorite surprise songs, and her plans for after the tour wraps up.

Elite Daily: How did you get started livestreaming?

Tess Bohne: The weekend after I went to the concert , I remember hearing that people in Vegas were going to be livestreaming the show. I watched it on YouTube, and I was just as excited watching that as I was at the concert.

I was like, “Wait, you’re not supposed to want to watch the concert again.” I always make fun of my husband and his family for re-watching old sports games. You know what’s going to happen. You know exactly how this plays out. Why are you watching this again? So I felt a little bit hypocritical doing it, but I loved it.

ED: What specifically drew you in?

TB: I didn’t know that there were surprise songs. I just thought she picked two acoustic songs and played them for every single show.

Once I learned the songs would change for every performance, I was invested. But I kept running into the same issue: I would watch the livestream and then it would stop right before the surprise songs or have bad service or swampy audio.

ED: How did you prevent those technical issues from happening with your livestreams?

TB: At first, I had my phone on a little tripod. I also had two iPads and my laptop — all with different streams running. I had them ready to go, so if one went down, I’d take the iPad and switch it out. I called it the “iPad shuffle.” Then, I’d write the username of whoever was streaming on a sticky note and put it on the screen.

ED: When did you start showing yourself on camera more?

TB: I don’t remember exactly which show it was, but there was a rain delay. I kept the live going, but I went in front of the camera to give people updates. It felt natural, and people were saying “Oh, I love your outfit” and “Oh, you’re such a good reporter.” Selfishly, I was thinking, “OK, maybe I can be in front of the camera for part of this.”

Afterward, my husband helped me make it more official, clean, and professional. That’s when I started going on a few minutes before the show started to talk about potential surprise songs. Then, after the concert, I started doing a postshow recap. People liked feeling like they were watching with a friend.

ED: There’s obviously a lot of work that goes into this behind the scenes. How do you find the fans at each show who will be streaming it?

TB: At first, I would get some streams through @tstourtips on Instagram and @ErasTourLive on Twitter. People would reach out to them to say they were going live. So I would have them ready to go for the show, but 90% of the time the accounts that I had prepared for didn’t end up going live.

On TikTok, you can search certain keywords. So, I started searching for more lives on my iPad while my stream was going on my computer. Sometimes, people would help me out in the chat section, saying who was going live.

Now that I’ve done around 65 shows, it’s a little bit more established. I have a website and a Google Doc where people can tell me if they are intending to stream.

ED: For people who sign up that way, do you talk to them about the stream beforehand?

TB: I make sure to let people know that we’ve seen this concert lots of times. This is your concert. You make yourself a priority. Only stream if it is going to enhance your experience. I don’t want anyone ever feeling like they’re obligated to give us part of their experience.

ED: How do you choose which fan livestream to broadcast on your page?

TB: Well, sometimes there’s only one account livestreaming. There have been times when there’s a fan streaming outside the stadium and that’s the only live we can find. So I’m like, “This is what we have. It’s good enough.”

Other times, we have multiple to choose from. Then, I’ll try to match the best visual with the best audio because we’ve had floor views before but next to a screamer. I love a screamer because that means they’re having such a fun time, but there are times when you can’t hear Taylor. So I might switch that audio out for one where you can hear her more clearly.

ED: Oh, that’s so high-tech.

TB: It’s been a learning process. In the beginning, I obviously wasn’t doing that, but I’m always wondering how I can make it better.

My husband actually suggested that I add little clocks on my screen that count down until the acoustic set, because people kept asking “How long until surprise songs?”

Afterward, I have a little scrolling bar that says what the surprise songs were, so people don’t have to ask.

Screenshot of Tess Bohne's Singapore Eras Tour time zone chart

There were times when I was going to bed at 5 p.m. to wake up at 11:30 p.m. to start streaming at midnight to wrap up at 5 a.m.

ED: Does it still feel fun while you’re doing it, or does it feel more like a job now?

TB: There are times when it feels like a job, but I've found ways to make it more fun. I have a few backup accounts in case TikTok bans me during a show, and I went live on my backup during one of the South America shows.

Now, I go live on my backup for every show — I call it “The Break Room.” There, people can see what I’m doing behind the scenes. We’re reacting to the surprise songs together and discussing the show.

That’s made it a lot more fun, especially during the last leg of the tour when Taylor was performing in the middle of the night my time. There were times when I was going to bed at 5 p.m. to wake up at 11:30 p.m. to start streaming at midnight to wrap up at 5 a.m. When I feel like I’m going to fall asleep, it’s essential to have people to talk to and keep it more entertaining.

ED: How many viewers do you get, on average, for a livestream?

TB: It depends on the show. On Nov. 26, we were all thinking she might announce Reputation (Taylor’s Version) . At one point, I think there were 328,000 people on my stream at the same time. TikTok shows you your numbers at the end. You’ll see “You had 2 million viewers throughout the stream.” But that was the highest number of people watching at once.

ED: Are there certain points in the concert when everyone is tuning in?

TB: The numbers always peak during surprise songs. It’s most surprising when it’s an Australian show, where the time difference is huge, and I would still have 150,000 people watching during surprise songs.

ED: Speaking of surprise songs, what has been your personal favorite combo?

TB: The last night in Sydney, she did mash-ups of “Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve” and “Ivy” and “Forever & Always” and “Maroon.” I was just crying.

ED: Is that your favorite show that you've livestreamed, or do you have another?

TB: No, my favorite was the 11/11 show. Travis [Kelce] was there, and it was the first time we got “ Karma is the guy on the Chiefs. ” The streams were easy, no tech issues, we had fantastic views, and it was just exciting all around.

When Travis is there, you feel Taylor's energy change — in the same way that Travis tends to play better when Taylor’s there . You could feel that through the stream.

The thought of being shut down scares me.

ED: Has anyone from Taylor’s team or the Eras Tour noticed the livestreams or reached out?

TB: No. I almost see it as no interaction is better than the alternative. I feel like I would’ve been shut down by now if they really didn’t like it, but it’s almost as if they turned their heads.

The thought of being shut down scares me. I’ve been afraid of it every single day because doing this has given me a lot. I’ve found out a lot about myself. I found people who appreciate me.

ED: What’s your plan for when the tour wraps up?

TB: I’m trying to figure out what that’s going to look like. I hate feeling like what I’m doing here is piggybacking off of Taylor’s success, but that’s exactly what it is right now.

I still want to do something that I’m good at, but I like being in front of the camera. I also thrive during the stressful times — when a stream is down and I’m quickly pulling up another one. I don’t know if I want to do something in production or if I want to try to be an on-screen reporter somehow.

A London museum has been accused of "confusing the ignorant" and being "profoundly racist" after a guided audio tour incorrectly claimed King George III's wife, Queen Charlotte, was a "person of colour".

The guide, available to guests at the Queen's House, part of Royal Museums Greenwich, sees guests given "a very gay tour" of the estate by drag king and historian Christian Adore.

As museum-goers walk past a figurehead of the former Queen taken from the royal yacht HMY Royal Charlotte, a section of the guide plays a recorded message saying: "Queen Charlotte, the nation’s first royal person of colour.

"Yep, you heard me. The insecure white boys writing history conveniently forget to mention that bit, because... well, structural racism."

Doubts about Queen Charlotte's ethnicity were first publicised after a German historian questioned the accuracy of her portrait by Thomas Gainsborough (pictured)

Wikimedia Commons

Royal Museums Greenwich says the tour, which "shares the spirit" of its LGBTQ+ History Month event, "Fierce Queens", contains Adore "sharing just some of the "deliciously gay stories" contained within its [the Queen's House's] galleries.

The description continues: "Along the way, he'll introduce the performers and artists that make Fierce Queens a night to treasure, allowing them to share their own experiences of representation and inclusivity in the historic space."

Its audio guide also highlights the bisexuality of King James I, and states King Charles II, known for his multiple mistresses, had a "progressive, genuinely modern understanding of relationships in the 1660s".

Elsewhere in the Queen's House, a bust of Lord Nelson is berated by a "migrant goddess" figure, who tells heroic British admirals to "move over" for the "unsung heroes of the sea" and claims Nelson's "bravery and resilience" is shared by migrants who make sea crossings.

An Allan Ramsay portrait which emphasised the Queen's "broad nostrils and heavy lips" is apparently evidence of her non-white heritage

Reports of the guided tour were slammed by former Royal Navy officer Chris Parry , who said: "This level of stupidity simply degrades and defiles our national reputation for historical scholarship... These antics serve to confuse the ignorant and are profoundly racist. Remove public funding."

The idea that Queen Charlotte was not white was first put forward by German historian Brunold Springer in 1929 - a time of high interest in physiognomy pseudoscience in Germany - who claimed her portrait by Thomas Gainsborough was inaccurate.

Springer instead pointed to a portrait by Allan Ramsay, who emphasised her "broad nostrils and heavy lips", while other academics have highlighted historical accounts of the Queen's "Mulatto [mixed-race" face as evidence of her African heritage.

Later scholars pointed out one of her distant ancestors, Madragana, a Moorish mistress of Portugal's King Afonso III, would have contributed to her appearance - though this has been put down by historians as the word "Moor" was a religious, not racial, descriptor at the time.

In popular culture, Queen Charlotte has been depicted as mixed-race - most notably in Netflix drama Bridgerton and its spin-off, Queen Charlotte.

A museum spokesperson said: "The Fierce Royals pieces were performed in the Queen’s House, delivered by a number of performance artists, during LGBTQ+ History Month and part of an evening of light-hearted entertainment, and later added to our website for the enjoyment of those who could not come on the night.

"As part of the Fierce Queens event that the tour is based on, we had a black performer playing Queen Charlotte, which is why this segment was included in the tour.

"It was not written by or performed by members of RMG staff and as a performance piece, was not 'fact checked'."

The two families are believed to share a close bond, with Crown Princess Amalia even living in Madrid for a number of years. It emerged this week that the heir-to-the-throne was forced to move away from her home in Amsterdam because of severe security threats made against her.

Their children have grown up side by side, with their daughters even attending the same school. Princess Leonor of Spain, who is the heir to the Spanish throne, was classmates with Princess Alexia of the Netherlands at Atlantic College in Vale of Glamorgan, with the couples coming together to attend their graduation ceremony in 2023. Executive director of UWC International, Jens Waltermann, previously said Princess Leonor was joining ‘4,500 other students from 155 countries, and from a diverse range of backgrounds, who will be studying at one of our 18 schools ’.

The couples are also regularly seen attending royal events across Europe together. The Spanish and Dutch royals were both seen at Queen Elizabeth II's funeral, as well as King Charles' coronation events last year, where they were seated close to one another.

King Willem-Alexander Recalls Meet-Cute with Wife Queen Maxima in Seville During Spain State Banquet

King Felipe of Spain also referred to the story when he asked guests to raise a glass at the glamorous gala

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands had an extra special reason to celebrate Spain's state visit: it was the country where they first met!

The King of the Netherlands, 56, recalled the meet-cute with his future wife in his remarks during the diplomatic dinner at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam on April 17. The glam banquet was held on the first night of King Felipe and Queen Letizia ’s two-day stay in the Netherlands.

"Spain has a special place in our hearts. First of all, because it was in your country that our life together began. We were at the Feria de Abril in Seville 25 years ago. The sparks began to fly. The rest is history," King Willem-Alexander said, prompting a big smile from Queen Maxima, 52, as well as laughs from King Felipe, 56, and Queen Letizia, 51.

The Dutch royal met the Argentinian-born Maxima Zorreguieta at the spring fair in April 1999, where the future monarch introduced himself simply as "Alexander." Maxima, who then working in banking in New York, reportedly didn’t believe him when he later revealed his royal identity.

The two began dating, announced their engagement in March 2001 and tied the knot in Amsterdam in February 2002.

The couple went on to welcome three daughters —  Princess Catharina-Amalia , 20, Princess Alexia, 18, and Princess Ariane, 17. Willem-Alexander acceded as King when his mother, the former queen Princess Beatrix, abdicated in 2013.

Continuing his address at the state banquet, delivered in English, King Willem-Alexander mentioned how visits to Spain always felt "warm" for him and his wife, as well as their eldest daughter.

The monarch thanked King Felipe and Queen Letizia for their part in making it possible for Princess Amalia to safely study abroad in the country recently after security threats prevented her from continuing to live in student housing in Amsterdam.

"Last year, circumstances required her to live in Madrid. From there, she was able to continue her studies at the University of Amsterdam. This was made possible by the kind efforts of many of your compatriots and yourselves," the Dutch sovereign said. "A touching demonstration of friendship at a difficult time. I'd like to express my heartfelt thanks to you and to everyone else who helped arrange this."

Princess Amalia joined her parents at the diplomatic dinner, which marked her first appearance at a state banquet. She shimmered in the Ruby Peacock Tiara — which might be her royal go-to, as she’s worn it twice before, both times to royal weddings. (But it wasn't the Princess of Orange's first public tiara wear — that came at Princess Ingrid Alexandra  of Norway's 18th birthday gala in 2022, when she made her royal headpiece debut in the same tiara her mother wore at her wedding.)

Following King Willem-Alexander's address, King Felipe stood to give his speech, also in English, where he spoke about the special relationship between Spain and the Netherlands, including a shout-out to Princess Amalia and his 18-year-old daughter, heir to the Spanish throne Princess Leonor .

"We hope these days may contribute to reinforce even more deep bonds between two societies that look together towards a prosperous future. So do our parliamentary monarchies as we go together towards that future, hand-in-hand with two women of their generation, Princess Amalia and Princess Leonor," King Felipe said. "Deeply committed to their nation, and their people."

King Felipe then invited guests to raise a glass and recapped how King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima met in Seville "25 years ago, around this particular time of year" at the "famous Feria de Abril," which brought wide smiles to their faces.

"We therefore toast to that personal and emotional connection to our country so it will always remain and flourish, as it has since then," the King of Spain concluded.

King Felipe and Queen Letizia's visit officially started earlier on April 17 with an official welcome at Dam Square in Amsterdam.

King Felipe and King Willem-Alexander went on an engagement together , learning how the Cruyff Foundation was creating safe spaces for children to play sports like basketball, kickboxing and soccer.
