About The North Dakota Tourism Alliance (TAP) was originally organized in 2000 by the Destination Marketing Association of North Dakota.  In 2001, TAP merged with the Tourism Cluster of the New Economy Initiative (NEI), which was coordinated by the Greater North Dakota Chamb er of Commerce. In 2018, the organization was incorporated as the North Dakota Travel Alliance  and eventually the North Dakota Travel Alliance Partnership.

Industry with Big Returns

Tourism is a rapidly expanding industry worldwide. In North Dakota, it is the state's third largest industry and a driver of a more diversified economy.  Tourism helps stimulate growth in our state and attract other related industires and workforce.  Investing in tourism marketing means growing North Dakota.

DESTINATION DEVELOPMENT GRANTS  

The North Dakota Department of Commerce has awarded the $25 million in Destination Development Grants approved by the state legislature during the 2023 session. The funds, with a focus on attracting visitors and future workforce, are to create new attractions in North Dakota communities, enable significant expansions of existing attractions and support key amenities aiding the tourism economy across the state.
