About Lalla Aicha:

Lalla Aicha played a significant role in the development of golf in Morocco and the promotion of the sport among Moroccan women. She is often considered the pioneer of women’s golf in the country.

Thanks to her efforts, Lalla Aicha contributed to the organization of numerous women’s golf tournaments in Morocco, including the Lalla Meryem Cup, an event on the Ladies European Tour named after her niece, Lalla Meryem. This tournament has attracted some of the world’s top women golfers and has helped increase the visibility and reputation of Moroccan golf internationally.

Lalla Aicha was a strong supporter of sports in general and golf in particular. She was an inspiration to many young Moroccan golfers, advocating for gender equality in the sport.

Her legacy lives on through the LET qualifying events that pay tribute to her dedication and commitment to the sport.

2022 LET Q-School Final Qualifier

european tour q school live scoring

It's set to be a tough five days as 128 players, from 30 countries look to secure their LET cards for 2022 at La Manga Club

After attention was focused on the LPGA and the final four rounds of their LPGA Q-Series, our attention now turns to the Ladies European Tour (LET) and La Manga Club’s North and South Courses. 128 players from 30 countries will be competing in the Final Qualifier from Thursday 16 – Monday 20 December.

It’s not quite the eight rounds over two weeks like it was Stateside but five rounds over five days is going to be an extremely tough challenge as players battle it out for a place on a tour that is back on the rise after some turbulent years.

Here’s all you need to know.

Final Qualifier of LET Q-School

  • 75 players including 13 amateurs made it through to the Final Qualifier from Pre-Qualifying last week
  • 33 players from the Top 135 of the 2021 Race to Costa del Sol
  • 13 players from places 7-21 on the LET Access Series Order of Merit
  • 1 player – leading player from each LETAS Tour
  • 6 players from LPGA Q-Series

La Manga Club plays host once again to the prestigious tournament with Wales’ Amy Boulden winning the most recent Q-School played at the same venue in January 2020.

2020 LET Q-School

Before that Anna Nordqvist, Caroline Masson, Caroline Hedwall and Jodi Ewart Shadoff took top honours when the Spanish Resort hosted in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.

LET Final Qualifying Competition Format

90 holes of stroke-play competition with 128 players cut to 65 players and ties after 72 holes. For the first four rounds, competitors will alternate between the North and South courses. The final round will be played on the South Course.

What are the players playing for?

LET Status received upon successful completion:

  • Category 11: Qualifying-School Top 20 – Players finishing Nos. 1-20 (and ties)
  • Category 15: #21-50 Qualifying-School – Players finishing Nos. 21-50 (and ties)
  • Category 18: Remaining Final Qualifiers – Players finishing outside the Top 50 and ties

Any players who make the cut but finish outside the Top 50 and ties will be eligible for LET Membership in Category 18. Players who fail to make the cut after 72 holes will be eligible for LET Membership in Category 18. In all categories players will be ranked in final score order.

Pettersson hoping to open up options at LET Q-School

Lisa Pettersson LET Q-School

Sweden’s Lisa Pettersson topped Pre-Qualifying at the 2022 LET Q-School, posting a 72-hole score of nine-under-par, and sailed through to the Final Qualifier.

The 26-year-old played the full 2021 season on the Symetra Tour in the United States but has come back to Europe to try and gain status on the LET.

“I played the full year on the Symetra Tour, and I really like it there. I do struggle being so far away from home since I do live in Sweden.

“I came here feeling like I don’t have too much pressure because I still have my Symetra Tour status, but I want to open as many doors as possible and see what the LET has offer.

“I still haven’t really decided where I want to be next year so it will definitely open up all the doors possible. If I play well, then I will have a decision to make.

“If I don’t play well then, I don’t have a decision to make, I have to go with Symetra Tour. I feel like the LET is growing so fast and getting to be a really good Tour, so it would mean a lot to have a chance to try it out.”

Pettersson carded rounds of 67 (-4), 70 (-3), 69 (-2) and 73 (E) on the North and South Courses at La Manga Club to finish one shot ahead of Nigeria’s Georgia Iziemgbe Oboh.

It’s safe to say it’s set to be a mentally and physically tough five days ahead and with the North and South courses at La Manag running side by side and sharing a clubhouse, it promises to provide an electric atmosphere for those battling it out for a place on the 2022 Ladies European Tour.

Lauby, Hunt & Bellmont progress to Final Stage at 2024 PDC Q Schools

Danny Lauby (CDC)

Danny Lauby, Adam Hunt and Stefan Bellmont were among the first 16 players to make it through PDC Qualifying Schools First Stage on Monday.

The opening day of the 2024 PDC Qualifying Schools saw Stage One begin in Milton Keynes and Kalkar, with over 850 players competing this week for the chance to become permanent fixtures on the PDC circuit over the next two years.

First Stage, taking place from January 8-10, sees players from across the globe attempting to qualify to compete in the Final Stage, where Tour Cards will be on offer from January 11-14.

Eight players per day will progress from the First Stage at each venue, with all further places going to players from a First Stage Order of Merit in each region.

The opening day of UK Qualifying School in Milton Keynes saw American ace Lauby and former World Youth Championship semi-finalist Hunt among the eight players to progress to the Final Stage.

Lauby conceded just seven legs in his five matches at the Marshall Arena, averaging 102 in a 5-1 demolition of Sean Ryan, whitewashing Harry Gregory and Peter Burgoyne, before edging out Wales' Kevin Thomas in a last-leg shoot-out.

Hunt, meanwhile, averaged over 104 in a first round whitewash of Justin Giles, before seeing off former World Championship quarter-finalist Alan Norris on his way to reaching the last eight.

Matthew Dennant followed up a ton-topping average against Aden Kirk with victory over Justin Hood in the pair's decisive last 16 tussle, while Welsh duo Mike Warburton and Llew Bevan also sealed their progression.

They will be joined in the Final Stage by Harry Lane, Kieron Bridgwater and Patrick Lynskey, who made up the eight qualifiers from UK Qualifying School on Monday.

Former Women's World Matchplay winner Fallon Sherrock progressed to the last 64 before succumbing to Hong Kong's Kai Fan Leung, while three-time World Champion John Part won his opening tie before losing out to Alec Small in the last 128.

Two-time TV title winner Robert Thornton and 2004 World Championship runner-up Kevin Painter were among the other high-profile names in action, although both were beaten in the last 256 on an action-packed opening day.

At the European Qualifying School, Switzerland's number one Bellmont began his bid to become the first player from his homeland to secure a PDC Tour Card by coming through First Stage in Germany.

There were 480 players in action in Kalkar, and Bellmont underlined his credentials with some dominant displays, overcoming former World Championship qualifier Rene Eidams and averaging 100 in a whitewash win against Jannes Bremermann.

Bellmont was joined in the last eight by compatriot Felix Schiertz, while Swedish youngster Anton Östlund also progressed to Final Stage after averaging 102.87 in his opening round win against Xanti Van den Bergh.

Matthias Ehlers averaged 101 in his five-leg blitz of Ricky de Vos on his way to joining his fellow German Arno Merk in Final Stage, with Czech pairing Filip Sebesta and Vitezslav Sedlak also winning through.

Belgium's Stefaan Henderyck was one of the most consistent performers on Day One, following up a 5-1 thrashing of Ron Meulenkamp with a dramatic comeback victory against Greece's John Michael in the last 16.

Newly crowned WDF Champion Andy Baetens was beaten by Sedlak in the last 256, while Germany's Max Hopp posted averages of 98 and 97 before succumbing to Moritz Hilger in an all-German clash in the last 64.

Two-time Premier League participant Jelle Klaasen exited at the last 128 stage, alongside New Zealand's World Cup of Darts duo Ben Robb and Haupai Puha.

The UK and European Qualifying Schools will continue on Tuesday, where a further 16 players will automatically progress to Final Stage.

The remaining places will be allocated to players from a First Stage Order of Merit in each region, with one ranking point awarded per match from the first full round onwards.

Any ties in the respective Q Schools Orders of Merit will be split as follows based on all match results: Leg Difference, Legs Won, then DartConnect average. If players still cannot be split, a play-off would be organised.
