45 American Cities for the Ultimate Girls’ Trip
45 best american cities for a girls’ trip.
Who runs the world? Girls. And who needs a vacation? Girls. Nothing beats a holiday with your girlfriends. It could be a wild bachelorette party in Las Vegas or a classy wine getaway in Napa Valley with your mom and sisters. But when it comes down to it, you don’t need an excuse to bring the ladies together. Girls just want to have fun.
Whether you’re the planner of the group, the one who’s down for anything, the overpacker or the hot mess, these are the best cities in the U.S. for a girls’ trip. They include destinations for beach vacations, ski trips, foodie escapes and desert getaways. Call your friends, and let’s go.
Fort Lauderdale, Florida
Florida tourists often overlook Fort Lauderdale and head straight to Miami. But not so fast. Fort Lauderdale may actually be the better option for a girls’ trip. It’s less crowded, the beaches are just as nice (if not, nicer), and the city offers plenty of spas, shopping and dining.
What sets Fort Lauderdale apart is the 165 miles of canals that run through the city. Get on the water and book a boat tour — Fort Lauderdale Tiki is a super fun floating tiki bar charter (yes, you read that right) for up to eight people.
For something tamer, the Jungle Queen is an iconic dinner and show sightseeing cruise that will sail the group through the Venice of America.

When you’re tired of walking and would rather dance while getting a tour of the city, consider Off The Wagon Tours , a tractor that pulls a wagon full of people through the city. You really don’t see that every day.

There are a million ways to do New York, whether you want to be chill and focus on the culture, live the high-life and pamper yourself, dedicate your time to partying or a mix of all of them. You can be spending the day at the Metropolitan Art Museum, dining at a Michelin-star restaurant in the evening, going to an underground club at night and getting kebabs from a food cart as the sun rises. Whatever you decide to do, your girls' trip is guaranteed to be memorable.

They say sharing extreme experiences brings people together, and there are few places as extreme as Alaska. As the gateway to the Alaskan Arctic, Fairbanks is particularly situated for adventures. Hikes, boat tours and seafood restaurants can fill your days with fun.
Your experience will change completely based on the season. Summer brings long days, opportunities for kayaking and pleasant weather. The winter is very harsh, but you'll be able to go dog sledding and, if you're lucky, perhaps even see the dancing whirlwinds of the Northern Lights.

If you're doing a short weekend trip, you can potentially see at least two of these natural landmarks. And if you have more time, you could plan to visit every single one of the state's otherworldly parks.
Nothing helps to bond with the girls like hiking through some of the country's most astonishing sites. Plus, you can camp, glamp or sleep in a cabin to make you feel like you're all back in the blissful days of summer camp.

Besides learning about the town's interesting history at the Kentucky Museum, you'll have the amazing opportunity to take an underground boat tour through the Lost River Cave system. And don't think this is just a sleepy little town — if you need adrenaline, you can actually race Corvettes at the National Corvette Museum.

For reasons unknown, Atlanta continues to be sorely underrated when it comes to friends' trips. The city has it all: a grand park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted of Central Park fame, an absolutely amazing food scene, Civil Rights history museums and plenty of funky bars that guarantee a good time. And, unlike in other places in the U.S., there is actually decent public transportation in Atlanta, so you won't have to worry about renting a car or spending a month's worth of rent on ride-sharing apps.
Visit East Atlanta Village for a less tourist, more authentic side of the city, where you'll find independent bookstores, mom-and-pop shops and locally owned restaurants. At night, head over to Little Five Points, the heart of alternative nightlife in the city.

Horse Country Escape
In Lexington, you're right in the heart of Horse Country, the Bourbon Trail , and everything else downtown Lexington has to offer. Dudley's on Short is a must-hit brunch spot, and the deviled eggs are heavenly.
Spend your days right outside of town touring horse farms and meeting Kentucky Derby winners, as well as famed distilleries such as Woodford or Buffalo Trace before heading back into town to enjoy more urban pursuits. The Distillery District boasts restaurants and bars worth a visit.
Fernandina Beach, Florida
Harbor Town Haunt
For a laidback girls' trip, look no further than this funky beach town. A harbor town at heart, this spot has come a long way since pirates ruled the roost. Think more along the lines of old-fashioned ice cream parlors, a charming French restaurant in a tiny house, called Le Clos, and The Palace Saloon, Florida's oldest bar that stayed open through Prohibition.
Depending on the time of year, you might get lucky enough to hit it during one of the town's various festivals. Round out your trip with a jaunt along the area's gorgeous beaches and lush wildlife.
Round Top, Texas
Antique Adventure
This tiny Texas town is full of quirky surprises, which makes it perfect for a group that wants to blaze a trail and try something new. For starters, people from all over come into town twice a year for the biannual outdoor antiques fair that is basically an antique diver or flea market finder's dream. If you act quick, reserve one of The Silos at 159's rentals, which have fashioned Anthropologie-worthy tiny abodes from old converted silos.
Beyond the booths, you'll find year-round shops like Junk Gypsy and Humble Donkey Studio that will send you home with plenty of unique finds. But really, you can't leave without gathering the gang and heading to Royers Round Top Café, where pie is the star.
Orange, Virginia
Virginia Wine Country
This spot is just the thing for a group that wants R&R with a side of stunning views and lowkey activities. Located in the middle of historic sites like James Madison's Montpelier and wineries along the Monticello Wine Trail, Orange makes a proper home base.
Stay at the Inn at Willow Grove, an inn owned by couple Charlene and David Scibal. If you can drag yourself out of the plush accommodations, join the folks visiting nearby Shenandoah National Park , especially if traveling during peak fall color.
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Do the Carolina Shag
Myrtle Beach is practically made for running around with your girlfriends like you're 18 again. We'd be remiss not to mention the most iconic pastimes. Head to The Bowery for the house band after getting the local-favorite She Crab Soup at oceanfront spot, Sea Captain's House. Another famous spot to dance the Carolina Shag to "beach music" is Fat Harold's Beach Club.
Nashville, Tennessee
The New Nashville
The Bluebird Café has long been the ultimate stop for singers destined to become country stars, but if you want a place a little less touristy, try out The Listening Room Café in the SoBro district. Make a reservation at Pearl Diver and sit amongst palm-frond wallpaper, seafoam booths, and coral stools. The bar cranks out very girls' trip-friendly drinks, such as a classic daiquiri with rum, pressed sugarcane, and lime.
If you're looking for a trendy spot with indoor and outdoor group activities, head to Pinewood Social. It's a hip restaurant with an in-house bowling alley for your best-ever group dinner yet.
Lake Toxaway, North Carolina
Lakeside Living
If your crew is into mega views (or Instagramming them), head up to the Blue Ridge Mountains to this large private lake that's so pretty it was once referred to as, "America's Switzerland," since it favored the Alp's characteristic mountainside lakes. It even served as the getaway destination of industry giants like the Rockefellers.
Stay at either the historic Greystone Inn or rent a home that comes with club amenities at the Lake Toxaway Country Club (like tennis, golf, water activities, and dining). We'd vote for an autumn trip date to catch all of the fall color reflecting off the crystal waters, but summer makes an equally fun pick.
Charleston, South Carolina
Port City Charm
Historic Charleston , South Carolina, is always quite the charmer. Walk the city and shop 'til you drop on King Street, or settle in on a carriage to see the sights sans Google Maps. Grab a park bench in Riley Waterfront Park, and watch the boats come and go. For a daytime activity, book afternoon tea at Camellias , the girly lounge inside Hotel Bennett. Later in the day, wander over to FIG or Husk for a delicious dinner with your best pals.
Jackson, Mississippi
Capital Fun
For a fun weekend getaway, visit Mississippi's state capital, which has plenty of up-and-coming areas to explore. No visit to Jackson is complete without a stop in the Fondren District, where you'll find cool shops and restaurants like Saltine, Fondren Public, and Brent's Drugs diner and soda fountain. In the evenings, the latter turns into The Apothecary at Brent's Drugs (pictured), where you can find a menu of expertly mixed cocktails. Don't miss Lemuria Book Store or the Mississippi Museum of Art, either.
Pawhuska, Oklahoma
The Pioneer Getaway
Pawhuska, Oklahoma , is the home base of Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman, and she has helped turn this tiny town into a fun weekend destination. When planning a pioneer getaway in Pawhuska, book a room at Drummond's boutique hotel The Boarding House , and be sure to stop into the Mercantile, a restaurant and shopping hub that'll charm you as soon as you set foot in the door. (Just be sure to book early—Pawhuska is becoming more popular by the day!) Still working on your itinerary?
Charlotte, North Carolina
Fit for a Queen (City)
Set your sights on the Queen City for a low-key vacation in a metro hub with plenty to do, eat, and see. Check out Freedom Park for a long walk, Blumenthal Performing Arts Center for a fun show, and SouthPark for plenty of shopping. Don't miss Kindred, Good Food on Montford, and Haberdish for the fried chicken. We recommend a stay at The Ivey's Hotel or The Park Hotel.
Key West, Florida
Southernmost Exploring
Point your compass south for a visit to Key West , and you'll be greeted with charming streets, gorgeous architecture, and tropical trees as far as the eye can see. Rent bikes to pedal around the island, or settle in on a public beach after buying a box of Kermit's Frozen Key Lime Pie on a Stick. (It lives up to the hype.) Take a photo at the Southernmost Point, stop into the Hemingway House, and catch the sunset at Mallory Square. Even better? Make a week of it and plan a Keys road trip from Key Largo to Key West.
Houston, Texas
Choose Your Own (Texas) Adventure
There are a million things to do in Houston, so choose a neighborhood, book a hotel, and explore a pocket of this ever-growing metropolis. For a manageable slice of the city, book a room at Hotel ZaZa, shop your way through nearby Rice Village, and meander the Museum District, which is just blocks away. Then, set your sights on Montrose or Upper Kirby. The time to head to Houston is right now .
Savannah, Georgia
Georgia on Your Mind
This port city is a gorgeous coastal gem with leafy parks, plenty of great shopping, and a bustling historic district and riverwalk, where you'll find crowd-favorite restaurants like Huey's and Vic's on the River. Don't even think about skipping a trip to Moon River Brewing Company, River Street Sweets, or Savannah Bee Company, either.
New Orleans, Louisiana
Cool Jazz and Hot Food
New Orleans is an old, beautiful city with its own distinct, incomparable magic. The cool jazz and delicious cuisine of the Big Easy are calling to you and your girlfriends, and plan your ideal bar crawl using a guide to New Orleans nightlife .
Austin, Texas
Weird and Wonderful
A town that's proud of being "weird," Austin has plenty of sights, activities, and eats to keep you entertained and satisfied. We recommend a delicious taco-eating spree. And you should start with Juan in a Million 's breakfast tacos for just $3.85 each.
Palm Beach, Florida
Unwind on the Shoreline
It's the perfect place for a laid back vacay. Visit the cute little shops at City Place and Downtown Palm Beach during the day, and spend your evenings relaxing shore-side. And before you leave, make sure to stop at the renowned Spa at the Breakers Palm Beach .
Alexandria, Virginia
Slow Down A Bit
This place has a small-town feel, but it's close enough to Washington, D.C. for a day trip if you want big-city vibes. Or, if you want to stay out, take in a waterfront view of D.C. across the Potomac River. Alexandria also offers hundreds of independent restaurants and boutiques to explore, including a speakeasy donut shop .
Atlanta, Georgia
Georgia Still on Your Mind
Atlanta is a great place to go for a group with diverse interests. The city has much to offer in the way of food, activities, and entertainment. The opportunities to explore seem endless.
Galveston, Texas
Haunts and Hauntings
This city has something for everyone. With Schlitterbahn Waterpark, Pleasure Pier, the Galveston Naval Museum, East Beach, the Galveston Island State Park, and more, Galveston has plenty to choose from . You can even take a ghost tour and learn about the city's haunts.
Miami, Florida
Hot, hot, hot
Miami is well-known for its beautiful sun-soaked beaches and nightlife opportunities. But did you know that August might just be the most opportune time to visit? It's when Miami's spa, restaurant, and hotel months overlap and create a perfect bubble to experience them all together.
Memphis, Tennessee
River City Fun
Go "city glamping" by the Mississippi River in a hotel that resembles Egyptian pyramids . Celebrate the annual Elvis Week in Graceland or enjoy the nightlife and live music on the city's infamous Beale Street. Memphis has a bevy of things to experience.
Outer Banks, North Carolina
Carolina Sand and Surf
The Outer Banks are tranquil and quaint. These barrier islands off the North Carolina coast—like Nags Head, Cape Lookout National Seashore, and Ocracoke—are also some of the most sought after beaches in the state. And there's plenty to do !
Tybee Island, Georgia
Georgia Peaches and Beaches
Tybee Island caters to a range of interests. For instance, North Beach is an energetic hangout, but Back River Beach is more quiet. Bonus: it's a short drive from downtown Savannah, with a plethora of wonderful restaurants, museums, boutiques, and bars.

The Best Girlfriend Weekend Getaways in the USA
06/18/2019 by Kristin Addis 5 Comments
As much as I love my solitude, I wouldn’t be who I am without my girlfriends. The women who have helped shape me and who continue to be my biggest cheerleaders hold a very special place in my life, and in my travels. Each year, we make it a point to have an adventure together at least once.
Though I’ve been lucky enough to travel in Thailand and Europe a few times with some of my friends, for the most part we focus on hanging in the USA, where we’re from. Given how much variety there is stateside, there’s no shortage of girlfriend getaways we can pack into a weekend.
Whether your friend group prefers the outdoors, a lively or peaceful atmosphere, something natural, or more of a city vibe, there’s something on this list that can make everyone in your group happy. These are some of our favorite girlfriend weekend getaways:
Table of Contents
1. Moab, Utah
This little slice of Utah is one of my favorite places on the entire planet. The town itself has a funky, laid back vibe, but the real magic is out in the multitude of state and national parks in the area. Within a max of 45 minutes from town you’ve got Arches National Park , Dead Horse Point State Park, Canyonlands National Park, and all of the arches and stunning natural areas that border them.
While this is more of an outdoorsy suggestion, many of the more stunning points of interest are overlooks that you can drive right up to, including the famous Mesa Arch, The Windows, the Needles Overlook, and Dead Horse Point. For a more comprehensive list of ideas, check out this post .
Stay: This is the perfect place for camping, but if you’d rather opt for glamping or a hotel, those options are available too. For a truly unique experience, check out Under Canvas Moab .
Getting There: Fly into Salt Lake City and enjoy the 4-hour drive to Moab. This one is best for long weekends!
2. Orange County, California
As a former resident of Newport Beach in Orange County , I can say with certainty that this is the perfect girlfriend weekend getaway that truly has something for everyone. There’s the gorgeous stretch of coastline, great shopping at Fashion Island, Disneyland is only a 15-minute drive away, and so is Angels Stadium if you’re baseball lovers. Though it’s a bit pricey, you can also take a helicopter ride over the OC for a truly unique viewpoint and the perfect overview of it all.
Stay: VRBO is a great option in this area if you want to stay on the beach in Newport – and you should!
Getting there: Getting to the coast is easy and painless with a flight into John Wayne Airport (SNA) and a quick drive to one of the beach towns.
3. Washington, D.C.
For East Coast friend groups, DC is an easy one since it’s such a hub for flights from all around the US. There are so many neighborhoods in the city and it’s so rich in history, plus it’s beautiful. I’m a big fan of the free Smithsonian museums, Botanic Garden, and the National Gallery of Art. Here’s a listing of 14 free museums in DC .
If you’re craving some sea views, Annapolis is only 50 minutes away. If your group loves horses, Middleburg, VA is only an hour and 25 minute drive away. Here’s a listing of more ideas .
Stay : Georgetown is a cool college area with great nightlife.
Getting there: Both Washington Dulles and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport work for your DC getaway, though the latter is much closer.
4. Las Vegas, Nevada
Out of all the places on this list, this is the one my girlfriends and I have visited the most often. The airport is so well connected, there’s not shortage of things to do, and it’s also naturally beautiful all around Vegas.
While seeing world-class shows and dancing the day away at pool parties (a favorite of ours) are great ways to spend one’s time, I also highly recommend heading away from the Strip for a day and checking out the Seven Magic Mountains art installation just a 20 minute drive down Interstate 15, or heading north to the Valley of Fire State Park for a sunrise or sunset.
Stay : We usually book the best deal on the Strip, though our favorites are Mandalay Bay and the MGM Grand .
Getting there: Las Vegas McCarran International Airport is super close to the Strip and easy to find flight deals to!
5. Santa Barbara, California
I’ll admit I’m biased towards Santa Barbara, since it’s the college town where I met my girlfriends, but we adore meeting up in SB for a weekend of fun in the sun. Not only are there some of the most gorgeous beaches in the country (Butterfly Beach and Haskell’s), but also there is some of the best shopping on State Street and beautiful hiking trails in Montecito.
Stay: Though Santa Barbara might seem pretty high-end, there are great campgrounds nearby at El Capitan and Gaviota where I see dolphins every single time I camp there, as well as cheaper VRBO options in SB’s neighbor, Goleta.
Getting there: Santa Barbara Airport is so small and lovely to fly into!
6. Austin, Texas
Austin is probably Texas’ most beloved city, not just for the wealth of things to do, but for the alternative vibe. Some of my favorite activities there involve the water, including tubing down the river or visiting Barton Springs, a natural spring-fed pool, with a year-round average temperature of 68°F (20°C). Depending on time of year, make it a point to attend SXSW festival or a Longhorns football game.
Stay: I stayed at the JW Marriott downtown while in Austin and loved the room and location.
Getting there: Austin–Bergstrom International Airport has plenty of nonstop flights on Southwest Airlines from all around the country, and for cheap!
7. Sedona, Arizona
Sedona is a little artist’s oasis in Arizona with a hippie vibe and a wealth of beautiful day hikes. If your girlfriends enjoy a nice hike now and then but prefer to sleep in a hotel at night, this is the perfect compromise between the outdoorsy and the comfortable, without breaking the bank. Some of the best hikes are the Devil’s Bridge, Bell Rock, and Cathedral Rock. They’re all pretty short, moderate hikes with a big payoff at the end. For more things to do in Arizona, check out my itinerary .
Stay: There are plenty of cute VRBOs in Sedona to choose from.
Getting there: Flagstaff International Airport is the closest small commercial airport to Sedona, or fly to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) and drive for two hours to reach Sedona.
8. San Francisco Bay Area, California
This one’s a natural fit for me because so many of my girlfriends live here, so I’ve seen all of the tourist and non-touristy sights in the Bay Area and keep going back! For a great view of the Bay Bridge, head to Baker Beach. If you’re interested in a more alternative vibe, I love Oakland’s Lake Merritt area for its eateries, and on Sundays, Ecstatic Dance is a favorite of ours. In the city, be sure to check out the Painted Ladies for the perfect photo op or walk along The Presidio for some nature. Haight-Ashbury is one of my favorite places to shop and hang out as well!
Stay: SF can be expensive but if you split a VRBO it can be a bit more affordable.
Getting there: Both San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and Oakland International Airport (OAK) are easy to fly into, though I prefer Oakland since it’s smaller. Pick based on where you’ll spend more time.
*For a full list of my California options, be sure to check out my post on Alamo’s Scenic Route .
9. Ft. Myers, Florida
While Miami might seem like a more likely girlfriend getaway than Ft. Myers, hear me out! This little stretch of beach and accompanying islands on the Gulf Side of Florida has two things that make it perfect for girlfriends who love the water – sailing lessons and kayaking through gorgeous mangroves. Those two things made me fall in love with Ft. Myers and honestly, a weekend of sailing with friends sounds like tons of fun to me! You can learn more about sailing in Ft. Myers here.
Stay: I loved Pink Shell Resort and Marina ‘s huge rooms.
Getting there: Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) is an easy 30-minute drive from downtown Ft. Myers.
10. Portland, Oregon
Have you ever heard the slogan, ‘Keep Portland Weird’? That’s what’s so alluring about the city, plus the gorgeous Multnomah waterfalls that are only a 35-minute drive from the city, and a 2.2-mile hike to the top of the falls. Portland is perfect for live music, perusing the books at the largest independent bookstore in the world, Powell’s Books, and the (easy) hike to Mt. Tabor. Here’s a list with more things to do including farmer’s markets and free gardens.
Stay: The Inn at Northrup Station is cute, affordable, and well-loved.
Getting there: Fly into Portland International Airport (PDX).
I hope your girlfriend group loves these spots as much as mine has. Whether you’re craving the ocean, the warmth of the desert, the ease of a city getaway, or something that combines the outdoors and creature comforts, this list has a mix of many at once.
*This post was brought to you in partnership with Alamo Rent A Car. As always, all opinions of places mentioned are my own, inspired by the ease of traveling to each with an Alamo rental car!

From renting a farmhouse in Tuscany to taking cooking classes on Florida's Amelia Island to camping out in the middle of crowded New York City, each of these trips is ideal for bonding, relaxing, and learning something new.
Scottsdale, Arizona , has long been synonymous with spa resorts. In fact, Scottsdale is believed to have more spas per capita than any other place in the United States. Unwind at the Willow Stream Spa at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess , where the open-air rooftop pool (pictured) is a huge draw. Even if you're not a guest at the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort & Spa , you can hang out and use its facilities all day just by booking a treatment. And in nearby Paradise Valley, the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort invites contemplative interludes in the meditation garden or by the reflecting pond.
Massages and skin treatments always go over well on girlfriend getaways—but with so many spas around, how can you sort out the good from the so-so? And how can you find the best deals? Search Spafinder for information on treatments and rates at facilities around the country, or just for ideas for destinations you might not have thought about before. Some of our faves: Tucson's Miraval Arizona (Oprah likes this one, too), Carrillon Miami Wellness Resort (pictured), and The Peninsula Chicago .
Wine lovers already know about California's Napa and Sonoma. For a different type of wine vacation, head up to Oregon's Willamette Valley (pictured) for award-winning vintages or to the Columbia Gorge region straddling the Washington border for tastings and tours among waterfall-laden scenery. A stay at the Allison Inn & Spa puts you close to Willamette's 200 vineyards, whereas the historic Columbia Gorge Hotel & Spa is an hour's drive from Mt. Hood and what oenophiles call "a world of wines in 40 miles." Visit Travel Oregon for suggested routes and planning tips for both the Willamette Valley and Columbia Gorge regions.
It's hard to go wrong with a trip that starts with champagne and pastries. In April, May, August, and October, the Ritz-Carlton on Florida's Amelia Island puts on a Salt Cooking School . Each of these one-day events centers on a certain theme, such as Latin street food or dinner party hors d'oeuvres. Guests arrive at 9am and are treated to breakfast as chefs outline the menu for the day. Everybody leaves with an apron, recipe book, and significantly improved cooking skills.
Additionally, the hotel offers a weekend-long vacation once a year called the Salt and Savor Culinary Weekend . This event, while pricey, is an incredible opportunity to experience two days of hands-on cooking instruction from the chefs of the Ritz-Carlon themselves. The package also includes a daily breakfast, valet parking, more aprons, and take-home recipes.
If you and your friends are serious about food, DISH runs a culinary boot camp to get cooking skills up to speed. Admittedly, the program is more of a skills-related immersion experience than a by-the-books vacation, but intensive learning can be rewarding—and just think of the incredible dinner parties you'll throw afterwards. Boot camps are offered year-round for two, three, four, or five days at locations in New York, Texas, and California.
For extra-special occasions, Italy is the ultimate destination for a friends' trip. There's no better place to indulge in food and wine while also learning a little bit about art and history. Consider renting a Tuscan farmhouse to immerse yourself in the medieval past; in addition to searching Airbnb and its major competitors for options, don't forget about smaller outfits such as Papavero Villa Rentals . You'll explore historic cities filled with Gothic architecture and world-renowned artistic treasures, then return to the surrounding countryside to savor wines—and views. No one in the group will ever forget it.
For those who find New York City overwhelming at times, Governors Island , a long-abandoned military base in the middle of the Hudson River, is a breath of fresh air. All it takes is a short ferry ride from Lower Manhattan or Brooklyn Bridge Park to be transported to a natural wonder right in the city. Rent a bike from Blazing Saddles or a surrey that can accommodate you and up to three friends, and explore the island's parks, art installations, old military buildings, and food vendors, all while taking in prime views of the skyline.
At night, head over to Collective Governors Island , a luxury campsite where tents are tricked out with upscale amenities including Wi-Fi, electrical outlets, and, in some cases, private bathrooms with rain-style spa showers and private decks with reclining chairs. You can have dinner at the onsite restaurant or barbecue your own eats at a personal grill before grabbing a spot around the communal campfire to make s'mores with your friends and fellow glampers.
Groups that have noble aspirations—and sizable budgets—can reserve a Duchess Room at Dukes hotel in London . A staff member escorts you to the door and handles all room service and housekeeping inquiries. Small touches—fresh flowers, a fruit bowl, bedroom slippers—can make all the difference after a long flight. The five-star boutique hotel, less than a 15-minute walk from Buckingham Palace , offers high tea in the afternoon. The 90-room hotel is also close to gourmet food emporium Fortnum & Mason (a favorite of the royals), along with classic luxury brands such as Chanel and YSL on Old Bond Street.
There's no shortage of all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico. If you've had your fill of those, look further north in the Atlantic and give Bermuda a try. The Reefs Resort & Club offers ocean views from every guest room—and from the bathrooms. At this luxury hotel, lounging on the private pink-sand beach is practically required. Exuding warm hospitality, the Reefs serves afternoon tea daily and has resources to help you explore the island. Girlfriend getaway–themed packages may include spa credits or a special three-course dinner at one of three onsite restaurants.
Airfare to Hawaii seems to get cheaper all the time , so there's really no excuse not to fly out at this point. Hit the waves on Oahu and spend the night at Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort to enjoy lovely views, beaches, and genuine Hawaiian decor. The spacious rooms reflect the rich history of the islands with their outrigger theme. Many neighborhing hotels also sell solid surf packages for short stays. Make sure to take full advantage of the sunset views—and to snag a few delicious drinks—at Duke's Waikiki .

There is no doubt that the Prana del Mar in Cabo San Lucas helps guests unplug. Cell phone coverage and Wi-Fi service are spotty, and the eco-friendly retreat generates its own electricity. All of that makes this a good choice for groups seeking a digital detox in order to connect with one another and work on mindfulness and wellness. There are onsite yoga and Pilates classes, plus more active diversions such as hiking, surfing, and horseback riding. You can even sneak out of the enclosure and explore Baja on your own, or—perhaps more in the spirit of things—just stay put and enjoy the beautiful vistas on campus. Weekly rates include seven nights' lodging, airport transfers, three meals a day, and daily yoga classes.
Go west to Whitefish , Montana , for Cowgirl Up! , a six-night, women-only retreat in the spring and summer. It's an all-inclusive western fantasy filled with trail rides, horse clinics, good food, and end-of-day massages. Not to mention the lessons—by the time you cowgirl down, you'll not only have become proficient in horseback riding but also in line dancing, barrel racing, skeet shooting, and fly fishing. The retreat is hosted three times per year by the Bar W Guest Ranch . In a similar vein, be sure to check out Call of the Wild , which specializes in women's outdoor vacations all over the American West, from Yellowstone to Death Valley.
There are scores of companies that lead women-only trips around the world. Extremely popular with multigenerational groups, these companies can help you plan big adventures. Adventure Women has been in the game since 1982. Past itineraries have included hiking in the Swiss Alps (pictured), exploring the treasures of Turkey, and cruising through the Galápagos Islands with stops to see one-of-a-kind wildlife.

Best Girl Trip Destinations In The World
Whether it’s to get away from your job or your kids, everyone needs a girl trip every now and then. It’s a time to get away and let the weight of the world melt off of your shoulders. It doesn’t matter if you prefer balmy beaches or brisk mountains, there is a girl’s trip destination to fit every personality. Here are 15 of the best girl trip destinations in the world:
1. New York, USA
New York is so much more than New York City , although the city is a great place to spend a girl’s weekend. Take in museums, and sites like the Brooklyn Bridge or High Line. Or go on a tour such as the Friends or Sex and the City Tour that takes you to different locations that the shows were filmed.
If the city is not your idea of a good time don’t worry. You can take in the beaches of the Hamptons for a relaxing getaway or head a few hours north to charming towns such as Sleepy Hollow or Kingston which are filled with history and small-town art and scenery.
You might think of Iceland as a barren land that is barely inhabitable, much less worth the visit. You could be more wrong. Iceland has the capability of not only being fun, but it can also be extravagant.
Take a trip down to relax in the warm waters of the Blue Lagoon or take a snowmobile ride on an ancient glacier are just two of the things this country has to offer. Stay at the Hotel Ranga for the chance to view the northern lights or take a trip out to Thingvellir which is the site of the oldest democratic parliament in the world.
Here’s a great video of Iceland for first-timers you should check out:
3. New Orleans, USA
There is more to New Orleans than Mardi Gras, although Mardi Gras is a great reason to visit this southern wonderland. No matter what time of year you choose to go, New Orleans has a lot to offer you and your friends. You can take in the architecture and history of the French Quarter with its wrought-iron balconies and Creole cottages, take a walk through the garden district, or tour through the historic cemeteries and see the grave of the infamous voodoo priestess Marie Laveau.
When you are done take in a brunch of beignets which are similar to donuts and then drowned in powdered sugar.
You can also take try traditional gumbo or attend a crawfish boil to get the real feel of the local cuisine. At night the city is filled with live music coming from the various dives on Frenchman Street. No matter where you turn in this city there is something new for you to see.
4. London, UK
London is a city packed full of history, having been around since the first century AD, so this trip might be best for a week instead of a weekend. But whether you have 24 hours or 24 days to spend in London with your girlfriends, you will always have something new to see and experience .
You can take in historic sites like the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, and Westminster Abbey. Or you can take a ride on the London Eye to take in a bird’s eye view of the city. Having afternoon tea, taking in a show at the theatre, and spending the afternoon shopping at one of the cities many markets are just a few other things that London has to offer.
Croatia is a little island nestled between Slovenia and Bosnia , across the Adriatic Sea from Italy. There are thousands of islands – such as Korcula – on Croatia’s coastline, making it a great place to explore for an all-girls getaway.
Croatia is a sunny getaway full of beaches and nightlife. You can also visit the remains of Diocletian’s Palace, whose ruins not only provided the backdrop for Game of Thrones, but it also hides bars, restaurants, and shops for you to experience. The best part of Croatia is that it is an affordable European destination, so you can have a lot of fun for not a lot of money.
If you are wanting to visit the beach on a budget Mexico is a great destination . It’s easy to get to if you live in Canada or the United States and has something for everyone.
One of the best ways to visit Mexico is to do an adults-only all-inclusive trip. Hit up a resort where you are covered for everything from room service to your late-night drink cravings. Make sure to take into account how many people are coming so that you reserve an adequate amount of rooms, many resorts only allow three people per room.
Italy is a country known for its beauty and romance, but it can be a great adventure for a girl’s trip too. Hit up Rome to take in St. Peter’s Basilica or the Sistine Chapel. Enjoy pizza in Naples or tiramisu in Venice .
And if you want some time to relax while taking everything in, consider hitting up the Amalfi Coast, where you can relax on the beach or take in the history of cities like Pompeii and visit the UNESCO world heritage site with a Pompeii reserved entry ticket .
Aruba is a great island destination that offers something for everyone . You can take in a spa during the day, or beach hop to soak in some sun. Scuba diving in Aruba allows you to experience the beauty of underwater life firsthand. Don’t forget to take a good diving mask that doesn’t compromise visibility underwater and allows you to take everything in.
If the water isn’t your idea of fun, you can go on an off-road tour of the island during the day. At night you can spend your time wining and dining on the island’s cuisine, and dancing until the sun comes up the next morning.
9. Bali, Indonesia
Whether you like to surf, shop, or relax, this Indonesian Island of the Gods has it all. Enjoy a 24k gold facial at the Gold Dust Beauty Lounge or shop the day away in Seminyak. To get away from the traditional hotel experience, Bali offers several villas for you and your friends to stay in the lap of luxury. You can even book a villa with a car and driver included so that you can get out and explore even more of Bali.
Wanna know the best part?
Not only Bali is a dream girlfriend getaway spot, but it is an excellent destination for solo female travel too! Check this vlogger’s experience:
10. Paris, France
If you had to sum up Paris in one word, it would be glamorous. This is why it’s one of the best places to visit with your girlfriends. Check out Gumbo Yaya for a bit of Parisian-style soul food, or head to Les Papilles if you are wanting cuisine that is a little more traditional to the city.
Make sure to get a museum pass as well, so that you can check out attractions such as the Louvre and the Notre Dame Towers without paying a separate fee for each tour. If you are looking for a place to stay, check out the Hotel Esmeralda, this charming hotel has great views of Notre Dame.
11. Tokyo, Japan
Tokyo might take you a while to get to, but it is so worth the travel time. This city is vibrant and lively but still holds tight to its old roots . You can go shopping in Harajuku for one of a kind piece no one will have back home, or you can visit Asakusa, which is a quiet neighborhood that holds Sensoji, the city’s oldest temple.
There are also a lot of themed cafes to try out in Tokyo. You can have an entire meal in the shape of Hello Kitty at one cafe or get up close and personal with cuddly hedgehogs at another.
12. Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona is full of the rich and diverse culture that encompasses Spain. The city also boasts the ability to be both a mountain and beach getaway at the same time! So, you can go mountain biking or hiking in the morning, and spend your afternoon lounging around the beach if you want.
Make sure to check out the Sagrada Familia and relax at one of the restored Arab baths that sit throughout the city. Of course, you can’t go to Barcelona without doing a bit of shopping. Check out the districts of Gracia and Ciutat Vella, to find both designer labels and small local boutiques.
13. St. Lucia
St. Lucia, which sits in the Eastern Caribbean, might be small in size but it is not lacking in fun. Everywhere you turn you will find attractions, experiences, and beautiful scenery that will help you fall in love with this island paradise.
Stay at the Hotel Chocolat for a chocolate-making experience where you can learn not only how chocolate is made, but also how it is grown and processed. But don’t forget to get out and climb the Gros Piton, which will allow you to take in the unforgettable views of Soufriere Bay.
14. Santorini, Greece
The turquoise waters and white sands make Santorini a paradise, the white Cycladic houses lining the cliff tops just add another layer to the island’s beauty. Go in June, when the peak tourist times of July and August haven’t suffocated the area.
During your visit make sure to hike the infamous Fira-Oia trail, which takes you along the caldera cliff.
You can also check out one of the winery tours offered throughout the island and watch this great vlog on Fira, Oia, Persia, and Kamari:
15. Monterey, California
Monterey isn’t the biggest city in California but this Bay Area oasis packs on the charm in ways that you couldn’t imagine. Walk or bike around the town to see all the bits and pieces it has to offer or take a tour of the Folktale Winery which often offers girls’ night out events.
Get a bite to eat on the boardwalk, where you are often greeted by sea lions basking on the rocks in the bay. You can also walk around downtown Pacific Grove California, only a few miles away from Monterey, whose bright Victorian houses will make you feel like you’re walking into a postcard.
Where will you head first? As someone wise once said: The world is your oyster!

Looking for fun things to do with your girlfriend need not be hard. All you need is a little bit of imagination and a lot of research.
Do you want to take girls on boring, cliché dates... ones they've been on a million times before?
Of course not. You really want to take girls on new, exciting dates that they'll actually enjoy.
...But I get it:
Coming up with things to do with your girlfriend can be hard… especially when you feel like you’ve already done every possible date in the world.
Well... check this out:
I've hand-picked 101 incredibly fun things to do with a girl ... and each one can give you one (or more) of these powerful benefits :
- Break the routine of your lives, and usual date nights
- Let you experience something completely new together (and bond over that shared experience)
- Give you and her a new way to connect and understand each other (which she'll love)
- Provide an experience that both of you can enjoy equally (instead of only one of you doing what you really want)
This insider list can help you show any girl an incredible time... and can make you 1000x better at creative, romantic, highly impressive dates.
Contents
And Pro Tip: I highly suggest that before you decide which date to do, you check out this foolproof formula for a perfect date .
Best Things to Do with Your Girlfriend... When You Can’t Spend a Lot of Money (14 dates)
via: Pexels / Bárbara Marques
Look… I get it:
Dating is great… but it can get expensive.
Girls usually like eating nice dinners, going on shopping trips, and receiving truly thoughtful gifts from you. And even if you want to do those things, dating like that can empty your bank account. Fast .
If that sounds familiar, a list of free ( yet incredibly fun) dates can be a hugely helpful resource.
You can both enjoy and deeply connect over these free dates … and she’ll think they’re just as fun (or more) as an expensive night out.
101. Watch a natural phenomenon (eclipses, shooting stars, lightning storms)
Show her that she's the one you want to share extremely cool moments with. If there's no amazing phenomenon right now, just watch the stars (it's still cool, and insanely romantic).

100. Make s’mores over a fire (even if it’s indoors)
You can make s’mores without an open fire... just use the fireplace, or the stove. And you can even get creative with your ingredients: use cookies instead of graham crackers, peanut butter instead of chocolate, and/or bananas instead of marshmallow.
99. Try geocaching
Find out if your girlfriend would be interesting in (sort of) treasure hunting for a day. Visit this site to see geocaching hunts near you.
98. Go on a simple picnic
Take her on a simple picnic with whatever you have to eat at home (sandwiches, cereal, or even ramen) . Choose a secluded spot with a great view, or great people-watching.
97. Wander around a bookstore
Just going somewhere new together can be exciting. Have coffee, find interesting books and read... or see who can find the funniest/worst/ most awkward book .
96. Cruise around and look at ritzy houses
Take as little or as much time as you want. Talk about what you like about the houses, and pick features you want for your future houses.
95. Take turns giving massages
Initiate some highly relaxing physical contact. Turn on soft music and light candles (create a spa atmosphere), and rub her shoulders, neck, back or feet. After 10-15 minutes, switch places.
94. Proclaim a Couch Day
Not all fun things to do with your girlfriend need to be wildly active...
So silence your phones, bury yourselves under pillows and blankets, and binge watch TV all day (with snacks you have at home). Couch Day lets you be lazy, yet completely focused on each other (without the distractions of phones or emails).
93. Start a TV show neither of you have seen
This is a great way to connect/laugh with her, give you something to share, and give you something to look forward to.
92. Have fun on a playground
Go later in the evening, when the playground will be mostly empty. Bring some snacks (or a bottle of wine), swing on the swings, and talk.
91. Go on a photo shoot
Find a beautiful/interesting place, and photograph scenery/people/each other.
90. Ask her our 101 Questions to ask a Girl
This post is a highly valuable resource for guys in any stage of dating... the questions range from icebreaker to deep questions… so you can have fun, get to know each other better, or deeply connect. Check out the questions here .

89. Watch a show long-distance
If you’re doing a long-distance relationship with her, watch a show or movie at the same time (text/call/video chat while it's on). It’ll feel almost like the distance isn’t even there .
88. Have a movie night with a twist: watch a foreign film without subtitles
Try to guess/follow the story in a foreign language. Pro tip: adding a bottle of wine to this date makes it hugely more entertaining.
Fun Alternatives to Restaurant Dinners with Your Girlfriend (7 dates)
via: Pexels / Karolina Grabowska
So… you’re both hungry … but your usual dinner restaurants have become boring over time (or maybe you’re just in the mood to try something new).
You obviously need to break your dinner routine.
...And any of these creative ‘dinner-out-alternatives things to do' can be hugely more exciting, and honestly, hugely more romantic to her.
87. Have a progressive dinner
Progressive dinners (appetizers at one restaurant, entrées at another, dessert at a third, etc.) is an instant way to solve the common disagreement on where to eat. Just eat at all the places you like!
86. Pretend to be food critics
Pick a favorite food (for example: mine would be street tacos) , and eat it at 3 different places. Decide which one is the best.
85. Go wine tasting/beer tasting
Try several flavors and see what you like... and remember, these dates often have a really cool atmosphere… craft breweries explain their brewing process, and wineries hold tastings in gorgeous vineyards.
Pro tip: if you’re really into experiencing new flavors with her, join a beer or wine of the month club together.
84. … Or food tasting
Some specialty places hold food tastings (olive oil, baked goods, cheese, chocolate, etc.). Check around in your area.
83. Plan surprise dates for each other
Plan a date you think she'll love (her favorite restaurant, favorite activity, or favorite home cooked meal). The next day, have her plan your ideal date. Showing her that you know her favorite things will make her feel incredibly appreciated and special.
82. Compete in a burger/salsa/cookie contest at home... who makes the best?
Pick a food you both can make, and see who can make the best at home.
81. Try to have the most cliché Instagram date possible, and document it with your phones
If you’ve already planned a date as usual (dinner, movie, coffee, etc.), make it more interesting... turn it into the most cliché Instagram date you can (girls love being cheesy with photos).
Creative, Unique First Dates... Not Dinner and a Movie (10 dates)
via: Pexels / Andres Ayrton
If you’re looking for a first date that’s more memorable than a restaurant dinner, here are 10 romantic, unique, completely girl-approved first date ideas.
They let you get to know each other better… but also break the routine of cliché first dates (and maybe even give you both a new experience ).
Pro tip #1: before you pick her up for your date, make sure you check out these insider first date tips that she wishes you knew.
Pro tip #2: if your first date went well (well enough for her to say yes to a second date), check out these second date ideas designed to go well .
80. A funny movie and dessert
Instead of a high-pressure dinner and movie (which can last a really long time), dinner and dessert gives you an 'out' . If you both enjoy the movie and laugh together about it, invite her to talk about it over dessert/coffee after. If not, say good night after the movie ends.

79. Berry picking/apple picking
This is a unique, fun outdoor thing to do with your girlfriend... that can be followed by dinner if it goes well. Plus, she'll get to keep edible souvenirs. Check pickyourown.org for local farms.
78. Coffee-to-go
Go for a long walk with your coffees... it allows for a great quiet date that lets you get to know her, but without the pressures of a formal dinner.
77. Local wildlife center/botanical garden tour
Flowers are always romantic. Plus, the gardens will be quiet, letting you talk and get to know each other (but again without the pressures of a formal dinner).
76. A trip to the zoo
There's so much to look at and talk about at the zoo. It's the perfect opportunity for joking around, getting to know her, and possibly inviting her to dinner after (if it goes well).
75. Ice skating
One of the more classic, romantic things to do with your girlfriend ... that she won't expect. It also gives you the opportunity to hold her hand/waist as you help her skate (and even if you suck at skating, you can still support her).
74. Group trivia
Probably one of the best casual, get-to-know-you dates... your friends take a lot of the pressure off, but you can still get to know her (and how smart she is) over an insanely fun trivia competition.
73. Drive-in/outdoor movie
This is still an incredibly romantic first date... that she's probably never done before. Find a local drive-in at driveinmovie.com .
72. Theme park/fair
You can both have a great time playing around and eating fair food. Plus, you can win her a prize to hold on to (girls still find this gesture hugely romantic ).
71. Brunch and a matinee
Take an unusual twist on dinner and movie. Brunch restaurants are usually small and quiet, and matinees are almost never crowded (opening the door for good conversation). Bonus points if you can convince her to play hooky and go on a weekday.
Group Dates to Take Your Girlfriend On (6 dates)
via: Pexels / KoolShooters
Group dates (with a mix of her friends and yours) can help you connect with her in a new way … in the company of others , instead of just the two of you.
A group date makes the next time you see each other alone even more meaningful (i.e., more romantic… which she’ll most likely be very excited about).
Pro tip: it actually is best to invite a mix of your friends on group dates. That way, both of you enjoy yourselves equally (and no one feels left out).
70. Bar hop to everyone's favorite bar
Invite friends, and visit everyone’s favorite bars. You and she can both experience new places, and get to know each other’s friends (but let music and drinks take away any awkward pressure).

69. Host a party
Any couple can co-host a party (even if you don't live together), for a holiday, the start of a TV show season, or a housewarming. Choose food to serve, create a playlist, make a signature cocktail... do anything that helps you to connect over being great hosts.
68. Go camping with friends
Physically get away for a night and relax. Connect with your girlfriend (and friends) in a beautiful, natural environment.
67. Have a game night
Your friends probably get bored of doing the same things too, so break the old dinner and drinks routine. Play charades, Pictionary, Scattergories, Quelf or another game that works for larger groups.
66. Go-kart racing/bumper cars
If you haven't been go-karting in a while, here's some news: it's still incredibly fun . Take your girlfriend and a group and see who the best arcade driver is.
65. Have an arcade night
Like I mentioned above, your friends might be bored of their routines too... and just like go-karting, arcades can still be incredibly fun. Bring quarters and play for a few hours, and have dinner and drinks after.
Insanely Fun Night-Life Dates with Your Girlfriend (6 dates)
via: Pexels / Trung Nguyen
If you and your girlfriend are looking for a new way to break your routine , try one of these 6 insanely fun nights out.
They're all specially designed for couples that want to have new, exciting experiences together.
If that sounds like you... try one of these dates with your girl.
64. Go to a bar that's slightly out of your comfort zone
Going somewhere new together can make you both feel adventurous, so if you usually hang out at college bars, try an upscale lounge... and if you usually like quiet, classy spots, try a dive bar or live rock music venue. Venture somewhere unknown.
63. See some local comedy/slam poetry
An uncommon, but one of the most fun things to do? See some local comics live. Many cities have comedy clubs, or you can search for venues that host open-mic poetry nights.
62. Go clubbing on 80’s or 90’s night
You both probably grew up with this type of music... and a lot of bars will host entire nights dedicated to the great hits of a different decade.
61. Try karaoke
This date is absolutely guaranteed to make you laugh. Go alone or with a group… whatever makes you feel the most comfortable.
60. See a local band you’ve never heard of
Search Yelp for ‘best bars with live music’ to find new artists or bands playing near you.

59. Visit a bar after dinner, then crash at a hotel
You don't have to get crazy drunk for this to be fun . You're still breaking your routine by staying at a new place, and creating an exciting, memorable night for you two.
Learn Something New with Your Girlfriend (4 dates)
via: Pexels / Thirdman
Each of these 4 dates can give you and your girlfriend the chance to learn something new.
It doesn’t matter what the date teaches you (science, history, performing arts, culture, etc.)… just embrace the chance to learn something and have a new experience with the girl you like.
58. See an indie movie
Get to know a film genre you might not know yet. Sometimes indie movies are great, and sometimes they're more... offbeat . Either way, you'll both very likely experience something new.
57. Visit a museum/art gallery
Visit a museum of classic cars, an antiques gallery, an interactive science museum or a sculpture garden (because it doesn’t have to be a historical museum, or traditional art gallery if that’s not your thing. Go where you'll ahve fun!).
56. See a performing arts piece
If you’re not theater lovers, this is the perfect place to experience something new (at a ballet, musical, opera or play). And honestly... it can be really fun to get insanely dressed up for a fancy night out.
55. Go to an observatory/planetarium... at night
Stargazing is extremely romantic, but if the stars aren't out, go to a local observatory/planetarium and actually learn about the stars while gazing.
Seasonal Things to Do with Your Girlfriend (14 dates)
via: Pexels / Pavel Danilyuk
These date ideas only work at certain times of the year … but to a girl, that makes them even better.
Here's why:
If you're making sure to spend special, once-a-year dates with her , she feels like you want to connect with her in every way you can (you could have ignored this special time, or spent it with someone else... but you chose her ).
In other words:
It makes her feel special.
...And when girls feel like they're special to you, they're more likely to treat you with love and respect.
54. Go to the beach for the weekend
If you don't live near a beach, this is an incredibly romantic way to show her that you love spending the summer days with her.
53. Choose an adventurous summer date idea
All the ideas on our top summer date list are specifically designed to treat you both to new adventures.
52. Visit a water park
Water parks are only open a few months out of the year... so tell her you want to take advantage of doing this together while you can.
51. Pick out a couples’ Halloween costume
I get it, it may not be your favorite... but most girls like dressing up, and not every girl gets the chance to be part of a couples' costume (it makes her feel special that she gets to do it with you).
50. Rent jet skis, paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, or another outdoor adventure date
See the list of top adventurous dates that are absolutely perfect for warm-weather days.

49. Buy good candy for trick-or-treaters

48. Try to beat a corn maze
This is one of the most fun things to do with your girlfriend... that's only open for a few months. Make her feel special by taking advantage of the short time you can beat a corn maze together.
47. Carve a pumpkin
Or, even better, carve two pumpkins.
46. Plan and make Thanksgiving dinner together

Downtown areas of many cities have lit, horse-drawn carriages in the winter time. Take her for what may be the most romantic date ever: candlelit dinner followed by a carriage ride.

You only get to do this for a month or two, right? Get some coffee and take her to find the best light displays in your area.

42. Help shop for family’s Christmas gifts
Christmas shopping can be stressful... and men usually put it off until the last minute. Ask your girlfriend to help you this year: you get help, and she gets to feel special and included in your family's gift exchange.

But here’s the thing:
You can both enjoy doing those obligations hugely more if you do them together.
Plus , she knows that if you can still connect emotionally with her while doing chores , the two of you have a strong future together (because even during the not-as-fun times, you still enjoy each other).
Grab your girlfriend and knock some of these things off your to-do list.

Simple, Romantic, and Cute Things to Do to Make Your Girlfriend Happy (8 dates)
via: Pexels / Jep Gambardella
I’ll be honest:
Most guys probably don’t want to do things like tell your girlfriend why you love her, or really listen to her talk about her day.
Showing your girlfriend little bits of undivided attention (even as small as 20 seconds) can make her feel hugely more connected to you.
And we all know:
Girlfriends who feel connected to their boyfriends are usually hugely happier with their relationships.
PS: for more ideas, check out this post with 75 romantic, sweet things to do for her.
8. Show off
Demonstrate a talent that you're most proud of (and honestly, the stupider the talent (i.e. playing air guitar), the funnier this will be to her.) And while it may not seem like it... this is one of the most romantic things to do with your girlfriend, because it shows you want to make her laugh.
7. Make a list of restaurants you want to try
You'll have a great reference next time you can't think of anywhere to eat.
6. Do a Sudoku/crossword together while you’re watching TV
Making her feel special doesn't have to take a ton of time, money, or even attention. Instead of staring at the TV while you're hanging out, let it play in the background and do a puzzle with her (it shows her that she's still the most important thing to you).
5. Listen to her tell you about her day
I get it: most guys don't love hearing about their girlfriends' feelings and emotions. But if you just listen patiently to her describe her day, she'll feel hugely grateful to you for being such a good listener.
4. Talk on the phone when you’ve not had time for each other recently
If you've been busy lately, and not spent a lot of time together, call her (either during the day or after you get home). Talk for at least 10 minutes, without distractions around you (like roommates or the TV). Show her she's still on your mind.
3. Take her shopping… without complaining about it
Guys: I know you don’t want to do this, but if you’re looking to make her incredibly happy with you, this is your gold-mine date idea . If you watch her try on clothes for an hour without complaining about it , you will most likely be vastly rewarded with love and appreciation later.
2. Take a long lunch from work
Taking a long lunch tells her that you value your time together so much that you’re willing to put her above your work day (even if it’s just for 30 minutes).
1. Kiss for 20 seconds
To really make your girlfriend feel special, give her a long, drawn-out kiss. 20 seconds of your time can make her feel hugely appreciative of you.

Traveling with your girlfriend: Tips to make your trip romantic
- Posted on: March 5, 2021 February 11, 2022
- Categories: Holiday Ideas
Traveling with your girlfriend
Finally, you get some time for your own without any distractions. You can get away with your loved one to a nice place, taking a break from work and daily responsibilities. You get to spend some time with your partner. Exploring a new land together, involving in adventure activities and having new experiences together will foster your relationship and will etch sweet memories in your heart.
But there is a flip side to this travel plan. Being in each other’s company for a prolonged period can sometimes lead to resentment. You cannot be at your best always and nor can your partner. You may take out your frustrations on the other, which may have a lasting effect on your relationship. So the romantic tour package may end with an unintended outcome: both feeling bitter about the other.
So you have to be careful not to ruin your relationship during the romantic tours. However, you can keep some simple tips in mind to make the trip memorable for both of you.
1. Agree on the destination
Most people forget the fact that the definition of a vacation is different for different people. You might like to visit a place offering adventure opportunities, while your partner may prefer to spend the time sunbathing on a beautiful beach. So come to terms on which destination to visit after discussion. Somewhere you both can enjoy your preferred activities is the best. You can make a list of ten international tourist destinations and select one after a negotiation with your partner.
2. Decide upon the finance
Romantic honeymoon packages can be quite expensive. This is not a discountable fact. It is better to decide on the amount of money you can spend on the trip before embarking on one. A meticulous budget that specifies the amount to be spent on each category can keep disputes at bay. Have an open discussion with your girlfriend about your financial situation and understand how much she can contribute. It is better to give her equal responsibility for the finances.
3. Share Responsibilities
A partnership is crucial is for any healthy relationship. It is better to start sharing responsibilities from the beginning of a relationship. While deciding on the tour and travel, there are many opportunities to do this. From booking to planning to navigating to budgeting, you can share responsibilities. It will help you understand each other’s strengths and weaknesses. But make sure you have a good understanding of who does what, or you might end up missing out on some things.
4. Try a dry run
If you are a newly married couple and trying to understand each other, it is better to go on short trips before embarking on an international tour program. It will help you understand the idiosyncrasies of your partner. You can point out those things that you found uncomfortable. If you happen to find the behavior of your partner annoying while on a long trip, it will kill the joy of the whole journey.
5. Travel during the off-season
When you are on your first trip together as a couple, it is good to have some privacy. But it is a hard commodity to come by in a popular tourist destination. Mostly, you will be wading through the crowd to reach the best viewpoint. Hence it is better to plan your romantic tour package at a less crowded time towards the end of a tourist season, if not during the off-season. You will get enough time to enjoy each destination and get the privacy you need.
6. Pack Separately
It may sound a little rude, at first, when someone says to carry things in your backpack. But you will understand its advantages while on international travel. Both of you will be able to pack the things that you need and will know exactly where it is. Also, luggage will be divided into two thus reducing the weight. Moreover, you can avoid the fight on who should carry the bag.
7. Check on your partner
Ok, so you have booked a romantic tour package and embarked on a trip. You are having the time of your life and are enjoying every aspect of the journey. But your partner seems unusually silent. You know this is the red light that you should watch out for. Softly enquire what is bothering her. Is she tired, hungry, or is it something you did? It is better to find and solve the issue at the earliest. Or you may end up regretting it your whole life.
8. Get some alone time
While on your international tour package, you can easily get frustrated by the constant presence of your partner. You might feel suffocated and end up fighting over simple things. So make sure you get some time just for yourself every day. Enjoy a good massage, sunbathe on the beach, do whatever you feel like. You will surely feel much relaxed and the distance will make you want to be with your love again.
9. Plan some adventures together
If there is something that brings two people closer, it is adversity. You will learn to work together as a team and trust each other. Camping, trekking, mountaineering, and so on are some of the activities that you can involve in. It will help you understand your loved one’s strengths and weaknesses.
10. Plan a surprise gift
Surprises will spice things up on your tour. You can call your tour operator or the hotel you are staying and arrange to deliver the gift. It does not necessarily be something extravagant. Some beautiful flowers and a ‘Love you forever’ card delivered at the right moment will do the trick. Such simple things add color to the first international travel together.
11. Do not forget a candlelight dinner
In the rush for exploring the new land, do not forget to have romantic moments with your partner. A candlelight dinner is the best way to celebrate your love. If the climate is right, you can ask your tour operator to arrange it outdoor. What is more romantic than relishing tasty food with your partner under the starry sky with the dimly lit candle?
12. Capture the memories
Carry a camera or a phone with a decent cam and capture the special moments of your trip. Include candid pictures of your loved ones and selfies of you two having fun together. Make sure to print the pictures as soon as you get back home. These precious moments will last forever and put a smile on your face even after decades.
13. Eat Healthy food
Many a time, people cut the finances by eating fast food during their tours and travels . If you follow this routine for a few days, you will probably get sick. Choose healthy food for your partner and you. You surely can research the local delicacies of the destination and try them. But ensure that it agrees with you.
14. Be with her when she is sick
All days will not be the same. Sometimes she will be feeling under the weather and needs to rest. If you think you can leave her in the hotel room and go to the destinations so that money spent on the romantic tour package will not be wasted, you cannot be more wrong. You will appear like a self-centered person to your partner if you do that. It is better to take a day off and care for her. The comfort and care that you provide will surely strengthen the relationship. After all, that is the whole point of the journey, isn’t it?
15. Switch off your phone
A major mood killer on any vacation is the emails and calls from your employer. You have to inform your firm that you are traveling. You cannot be stressed out and spoil a romantic evening that she was looking forward to. Hence avoid checking emails and attending official calls during the international tour with your partner. Dedicate your time to your loved one alone.
16. Accept her as she is
The advantage of traveling together is that you get to know each other better. The way your lover reacts to new situations and adversities will help you understand her personality. Observe closely and remember her preferences. You might be surprised or even taken aback by some of her idiosyncrasies. But remember that no one is perfect. You have to accept her with all her peculiarities.
17. Make Compromises
No two people in the world have the same preferences. It is true for a couple too. This difference in opinions can sometimes lead to a fight when planning your romantic trip. To avoid this have an open discussion of what both of you want. Find a middle ground where you both make a compromise. For instance, if she wants to stay in a four-star hotel while you want to go camping, stay for a couple of days in the hotel and go camping afterwar

Some of the spots are great for a 2- or 3-day weekend (think: Nashville and Austin), while others benefit from a slightly longer stay, such as Portugal or Puerto Rico. And some destinations provide lots of opportunities for fun in the sun (such as an all-inclusive stay in Jamaica), while others—like Newport, Rhode Island or Palm Springs—offer the ultimate digital detox. Not to mention that we've even included a few girls' trip ideas that would double as a good mother-daughter weekend getaway, like Sonoma or Savannah.

Ahead, we've rounded up the best girls' trip ideas—from beach vacations perfect for birthday trips to remote places that are all about R&R—and included suggestions for the most fun activities at each destination. Now, all you have to do is pack.
Savannah, Georgia
This coastal Southern charmer (cobblestone streets! Spanish moss!) is perfect for any girls trip where the key word is unwind. Stay at the Perry Lane Hotel that offers contemporary luxury with loads of Instagram-ready areas, including a chic rooftop pool and bar (you can also visit Peregrin for its tasty cocktails and city views even if you're not staying at the property). In the morning, grab a complementary glass of champagne and some of the hotel's bicycles, and head over to nearby Chippewa Square, where Forrest Gump's iconic bench scenes were filmed. (The hotel offers free car service though, if that's more your speed.) Then, make your way over to The Olde Pinke House for brunch and a photo opportunity. (Don't skip the fried green tomatoes!). End the eve with dinner at Cotton & Rye , followed by a nightcap back at Wayward , plus a friendly game of skee-ball at the eclectic bar.
Sonoma, California
If you and your gals can't get enough Chardonnay, say hello to Sonoma . Perfectly situated in California’s wine country, Sonoma is home to more than 425 wineries. Stay at a place like the Ledson Hotel where every room is equipped with king-sized beds, whirlpool tubs, a fireplace, and a balcony where you can split a bottle and reminisce.
Wilmington, North Carolina
If you're looking for a charming, coastal Carolina getaway, Wilmington boasts a scenic, walkable downtown with waterfront dining galore, stunning architecture, and convivial bars and restaurants. (Don't miss the risotto balls at Quanto Basta , the nautical vibe at Seabird , or the live tunes and tacos at Satellite Bar ). There are also multiple beaches to while away the afternoon. Fans of soapy TV shows like Dawson's Creek , One Tree Hill , and Hart of Dixie will especially delight in seeing the filming locations in person, but you need not have watched any of those series to appreciate the city's magnetism. Art aficionados will adore the Cameron Art Museum which will unveil a new sculpture exhibit this November. Stay at the riverfront Embassy Suites for easy access to Cloud 9 rooftop bar where pink sunsets are practically guaranteed. It's also close to the newly opened amphitheater if you're taking in a concert. Or, try Dreamers Welcome for a more boutique-y feel.
Newport, Rhode Island
You can't go to Newport without grabbing some local cuisine at the The Newport Lobster Shack . After lunch at a waterfront picnic table, walk off those lobster rolls with a leisurely stroll on the famed Cliff Walk . The trail is 3.5 miles of beautiful ocean views. Then, explore the historic mansions while pretending you all live there together.
Orlando, Florida
The worst-kept secret in this town is that Walt Disney World is actually a lot of fun without your kids. Of course there's EPCOT where you can drink (and snack) around the world while you're waiting to ride the latest attraction, Remy's Ratatouille . And staying for the brand new light show, in honor of Disney's 50th anniversary, is a spectacular must. Then, Disney Springs is basically The Mouse’s answer to the Vegas Strip: there are over fifty retail stores, foodie-focused restaurants and bars, and live entertainment. Stay at the Hilton Orlando which offers a rare amenity: an adults-only pool and relaxing cabanas. It also has a lazy river and a slide for the kids at heart, plus a shop to sate all of your needs 24 hours a day, and a staff so friendly you'll feel like you're in the Magic Kingdom even if you're just at the breakfast buffet. (Note: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you must have valid admission and make a park reservation via the Disney Park Pass system; for more information, visit the Disney World website .)
Key West, Florida
Admire the beaches of Key West by taking a sunset champagne cruise . The islands are also a famous spot for snorkeling . Are your pals thrill-seekers? Take in a ghost or haunted pub crawl tour —you'll see the city in a whole new light. Stay at the luxurious Sunset Key Cottages and wake up to a gorgeous view of the beach.
Charlottesville, Virginia
A small town that punches well above its weight when it comes to food and drink, this Central Virginia charmer is conveniently located close to many Southern cities. The surrounding area, known for its picturesque horse pastures, is also home to the Monticello Wine Trail , which boasts an impressive 33 vineyards. One of the most beloved is Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyard , which serves delicious farm-to-table fare alongside lush varietals like sparkling rosé and their signature red, Easton Blue. Stay at charming 20-room The Clifton , located on a sprawling 100 acres.
Killington, Vermont
There’s never really a bad time to visit Vermont: stunning foliage in the fall, beautiful hiking in the summer, and, of course, some of the best skiing on the East Coast once the temperatures plummet. Killington may be the best mountain of them all , featuring world-class slopes, of course, but for the less coordinated, there’s also ski bikes, tubing, and even Snowcat-drawn sleigh rides. If you're looking for a major (yet worthwhile) splurge, repair your aching limbs with a night at Twin Farms , a cozy inn with a seasonally changing restaurant. Or, stay at any number of nearby B&Bs.
Las Vegas, Nevada
No girls trip list is complete without including Sin City. But for those who haven’t visited since their bachelorette days, much has changed. Top-tier talent like Katy Perry, Celine Dion, and Carrie Underwood are rumored to have residencies in the works at the at Resorts World Las Vegas and food has evolved from sticky all-you-can-eat buffets to celebrity seafood favorite CATCH Las Vegas at ARIA Resort & Casino , and the stunning, 64-story-high Rivea by Alain Ducasse at Delano Las Vegas . Book a stay at the sleek Cosmopolitan , which has super chic rooms and private spa suites for groups at its Sahra Spa & Hammam .
Austin, Texas
Two words: breakfast tacos . Of course, the crowds don’t flock to Austin just for the food: excellent live music, Insta-worthy hotels, and the gorgeous landscape make it a pretty perfect vacation destination. Snag rooms at Hotel San Jose , an oasis with garden courtyards and a pool hidden in the middle of trendy South Congress. At night, be sure to check out the Rainey Street Historic District , a residential-turned-commercial row where bungalow homes were turned into lively bars. Recover the next day by booking services at Lake Austin Spa Resort —they can even provide water taxi service to their gorgeous Texas Hill Country grounds.
And while definitely not in Austin, if you're up for a road trip to a place where you can experience the best of Hill Country, the Inn at Dos Brisas offers opulent casitas or hacienda, where you and your pals can unwind with wine by the fire. While it's certainly a splurge, it's a unique spot for a special occasion, like a birthday trip.
Hawaii Island, Hawaii
It’s hard to imagine natural beauty that could rival that of the Big Island : site-seeing includes everything from the world’s most active volcano, gargantuan waterfalls, black and green sand beaches, and even helicopter tours of the impossibly green valleys. Of course, group hikes call for spa sessions, which the Hualalai Spa and Sports Club located at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai is perfect for. Outdoor treatment rooms, reflexology walking streams, and Hawaiian-inspired treatments make the experience unforgettable. Don’t miss the “boga” classes: that’s yoga conducted on floating mats, of course.
Miami, Florida
It’s hard to think of another American city that’s as fun as this Florida playground. For a one-stop shop, stay at buzzy hotel The Confidante Miami Beach . Situated around 20 blocks north of the hustle and bustle of Ocean Drive, this quieter oasis is perfect if you and your girls take your R&R quite seriously. One of its two pools is dedicated exclusively to families, meaning you can sneak away to the other if children are splashing around a bit too much. And in addition to colorful popsicles courtesy of Cielito Artisan Pops , there's also a Hello Bello amenity cart packed with plant-based poolside essentials like SPF, bug spray, and body lotion. Enjoy a hearty breakfast at Rosie's before heading to the beach or checking out the Instagram-worthy murals at Wynwood Walls . Or, try the more urban Thēsis Hotel Miami , which has a sunny rooftop pool with stellar views, and, perhaps more importantly, a poolside bar.
Nashville, Tennessee
There’s a reason why you see a bachelorette party nearly every 50 feet in Music City: Southern hospitality mixes with unbelievable live music and a bustling bar scene to create a perfect storm of happiness. Stay at the Bobby Hotel , just minutes from the famed Printer’s Alley clubs and bars of downtown. If the rowdy bustle of Broadway isn't for you, unwind at the property's rooftop pool, complete with an airstream ripe for the 'gram or enjoy a cocktail at the stunning lobby bar below. Then, recover the next morning with a traditional (and rib-sticking) meal at Arnold’s Country Kitchen to sample the city’s famed meat-and-three plate. For dinner, don't skip the mac and cheese at Mockingbird . And, of course, grab loads of ooey-gooey Goo Goo Clusters as souvenirs.
New Orleans, Louisiana
It's always the perfect time to visit The Big Easy . And, as the city that proudly claims to have invented the cocktail, the bar scene here is second to none. Make a beeline for The Sazerac Restaurant to sample the namesake cocktail, of course, but don’t skimp on the Ramos Gin Fizzes either; they require a solid 12 minutes of shaking. No trip here is complete without dinner at New Orleans grande dame Brennan’s , famed for inventing the flashy (and incredibly delicious) flaming bananas foster. Boutique Henry Howard Hotel offers the perfect respite from the crowds, as does the NOPSI Hotel 's soothing rooftop. Or, you can't go wrong with the centrally-located and ever-glam Ritz-Carlton .
Palm Springs, California
Coachella and other music festivals may have put this spot on the map, but this scenic area in Southern California is pretty heavenly year-round (and, with 350 days of sunshine, it’s especially enticing during blustery winter months). Architecture buffs will love Villa Royale , a boutique hotel with Mission Revival and Mid-Century Modern touches all over. Workshop Kitchen + Bar is perfect for group dinners, with its farm-to-table small plates like fried cauliflower steak and wood-fired pizzas. End the night at its sister bar Truss & Twine , whose menu includes a whole selection of tasty tiki drinks.
San Juan, Puerto Rico
While parts of this Caribbean island are still recovering from Hurricane Maria, the bustling capital of San Juan is back in business (and eager for tourists to return). Beach-loving pals should book a room at the Courtyard by Marriott Isla Verde Beach Resort , which offers beginning surfing, stand-up paddling, and zip-lining. While exploring old San Juan, make sure to stop in at El Jibarito for excellent renditions of classic Puerto Rican dishes like mofongo with camarones al ajillo (that’s mashed plantains with shrimp in garlic sauce). Finish the night at La Factoria , a speakeasy that’s been voted one of the top 50 bars in the world. (Note: Travel to and from Puerto Rico is currently permitted as long as as visitors comply with all necessary health and safety requirements; for more information, visit discoverpuertorico.com .)
Lisbon, Portugal
Just like San Francisco, Lisbon, Portugal is famous for its historic tram lines. Built more than 2,000 years ago, St. George's Castle is one of the most visible landmarks of Lisbon's historic center. From it, you can see the Tagus river and the city from a whole different perspective. Take in the nightlife in the city's famous Bairro Alton district. Go down to the beachfront Cascias , about 30 minutes away from Lisbon, and enjoy some fresh seafood. (Note: While Portugal is currently closed to American tourists, it is expected to reopen this summer ; for the most up-to-date information, check with the U.S. Embassy & Consulate in Portugal .)
Amsterdam, Netherlands
While you can't go wrong with a number of Amsterdam's historic hotels, consider renting a houseboat instead and then spend a weekend exploring the canals, eating pastries and taking in attractions like the Van Gogh Museum , which houses the largest collection of his work in the world. (Note: U.S. Citizens are not currently permitted to enter the Netherlands; for reopening updates, check with the U.S. Embassy and Consulate in the Netherlands .)
Florence, Italy
If you and your friends are fans of pasta, gelato (and who isn't?), shopping (check out the Basilica di San Lorenzo !) and history, then this is a top destination. Take a bus or walk up to Piazzale Michelangelo to see the entire city center of Florence from a whole different view. This plaza provides a spectacular look at the Duomo . (Note: While Italy is currently closed to American tourists, it is expected to reopen this summer ; for the most up-to-date information, check with the U.S. Embassy & Consulates in Italy .)
Marrakesh, Morocco
Okay, so it's likely a longer flight than most of these destinations, and definitely a splurge but certainly a memorable experience. Take in the landscapes at the Jardin Majorelle and then make your way to the YSL museum to learn all about the creator of the fashion brand and his ties to Morocco. Want to feel like a true celebrity? Grab a drink at the famous La Mamounia Hotel and snap a picture in any one of their Insta-famous mosaic-tile rooms. (Note: American tourists are allowed to enter Morocco as long as they meet certain requirements, like confirmed hotel or travel agency reservations and a negative PCR COVID-19 test; for more information, check with the U.S. Embassy & Consulates in Morocco .)

There are so many tourist attractions in Savannah that you'll never get bored. Savor the impressive gardens and the magnificent water fountain of Forsyth Park , which is considered one of the best places to visit in Georgia . Take a walk through the tree-shaded streets to River Street overlooking the Savannah River, where you can shop for souvenirs and have authentic Southern cuisine at riverside restaurants.
Find out which houses in the Historic District are haunted on a walking ghost tour . Take a drive out to Bluff Drive in the Isle of Hope to see antebellum houses and quaint cottages across from the Intracoastal Waterway.
There are few places to visit in the US that exude as much romance as Hawaii . The sugar-white sandy beaches, azure waves, majestic mountains, and glimmering waterfalls are only a few of the area's most amorous attractions. Kauai, also known as the Garden Isle, is one of the state's most spectacular isles.
While here, be sure to book a helicopter sightseeing tour so that you can explore the impassable sections of the island's dramatic coastline from above. Waimea Canyon is one of the most stunning tourist attractions on Kauai . Sometimes referred to as the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific," this picturesque wonderland is about as dreamy as you'd hope for a romantic holiday.
It's impossible to visit Kauai without hitting the beach at some point during your vacation. Luckily, there is a bevy of best beaches to choose from, and though it seems impossible, one is always more beautiful than the next.
Picture this: you're sitting beside your beloved, clasping hands while inhaling the sweet scent of grapes, soaking up the sun's last rays as it sets slowly behind undulating hills that highlight the Napa Valley in breathtaking hues of pink, yellow, and gold. Can you get more romantic than that?
A seemingly endless number of luxurious resorts have taken root in Napa Valley, which means you won't be at a loss for somewhere lavish to stay on your romantic getaway in California. One stay at the luxe Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford will make all other resorts pale in comparison.
Dubbed one of the best places to visit in California in winter , the Napa Valley presents winter couples with an ideal time to enjoy lower prices, fewer tourists, and quieter spa days. Speaking of spas, why not soak up some love at Calistoga, one of the most relaxing hot springs resort towns in California? They even boast mudbaths.
Molokai is unlike any other Hawaiian island: the pace is slower, the buildings are shorter than the coconut trees, and there are no mega resorts or luau parties. Known as the "Friendly Isle," it is ideal for experiencing authentic Hawaii, and it boasts a long list of fun and relaxing things to do .
Known for its secluded locale and soft, white sand, Molokai is home to some of the best beaches in Hawaii . So, pack a swimsuit (as if you'd forget), sunblock, and a towel, and head out for a day of canoodling on the beach.

The drive to Big Sur, nestled between the stunning seaside town of Carmel and San Simeon, on Highway 1 is breathtaking, hugging the curvy coastline with dramatic ocean views at every turn. Be sure to pack a camera.
There are a ton of things to do in Big Sur . Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park is a must-visit, home of the most photographed waterfalls in California spilling onto a secluded beach. Point Lobos State Natural Reserve , located on the north end of the Big Sur coast, offers hiking opportunities to witness abundant wildlife and SCUBA adventures.
While there are plenty of resort options, to thoroughly enjoy the beauty of Big Sur, stay at Treebones Resort offering glamping in yurts with comfortable amenities to enjoy rustic solitude with your loved one. If you love music, head to the Stern Grove Music Festival (held on Sundays) at the Sigmund Stern Grove for a picnic and groove to the energetic beats.
Not sure where to start with so many amorous options? Depending on how much time you've scheduled, you can plan a one-, two-, or three-day itinerary packed with the most loved-up activities.

At night, cuddle up in one of the city's top resorts, which range from beachfront properties to historic accommodations close to the points of interest downtown.
On Martha's Vineyard, you'll find friendly locals, sandy beaches that extend for miles, and warm waters in the summer. This easily accessible island, located five miles south of Cape Cod, is more laid-back than Nantucket and provides a quintessential New England getaway. It has six small towns, each with its own charm. It's also home to some of the best beaches in Massachusetts .
Tourists flock here on day trips from nearby Boston to enjoy all the attractions and things to do on Martha's Vineyard, including shopping at its trendy boutique stores; browsing art galleries; biking on its 44 miles of bike paths, and indulging in delicious seafood. Another resplendent Florida Keys destination tops our list of the best vacation spots for couples in the U.S. Key Largo is a haven for beach lovers, snorkelers, and kayakers who love to wind their way through mangrove forests. This entire town revolves around its main attraction: the ocean.
Dubbed one of the prettiest of the Florida Keys islands, this idyllic spot is one of the most romantic places to visit due to its pristine beaches, natural tourist attractions , and romantic restaurants.
There are so many easy ways to reach this nirvana . It's a mere hour from Miami and has become a popular spot for a day trip . While here, dive or snorkel at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park, head out on a fishing adventure, or explore a sunken shipwreck—there are so many water-based activities to enjoy à deux.
Make it a weekend trip or, better yet, a week-long vacation. Key Largo's glamorous resorts make it easy to be tempted into a longer stay. Bungalows Key Largo , for instance, will spoil lovers with fine-dining options, floating tiki boats, spa treatments, and lavish private bungalows boasting gardens and oversized soaking tubs.
Bar Harbor may be the launching pad for visiting Acadia National Park , but this bustling coastal city can be a memorable romantic escape for couples. From idyllic lighthouses to museums and artsy shops along Main Street, you can spend days taking in the Pine Tree State's peaceful vibe and quaint tourist attractions .
One of the best small towns in Maine , this pretty place can get crowded in summer, which has been deemed the best time to visit Maine. For this reason, it's best to schedule your trip after Labor Day for quieter streets and attractions, as nice weather still lingers, and vacationing families have gone home.
Wake up early to drive up to Cadillac Mountain and witness the sunrise, followed by an invigorating hike or a leisurely drive along the coast in Acadia National Park. Make sure to pack a picnic basket and enjoy lunch on a beach. Spend the evening relaxing in Agamont Park , strolling along the banks of the bay, or going on a whale watching cruise on the beautiful Frenchman Bay .
The Saltair Inn Waterfront B&B is a particularly charming accommodation on Bar Harbor's Mount Desert Island . It boasts fabulous views, attentive service, and an overtly amorous air.
In terms of finding a top vacation spot for couples in the southern US, New Orleans is about as romantic (and exciting) as they come. Live music enchants loved-up wanderers, while the tempting scent of Cajun cuisine wafts down the city's most vibrant streets.
Spend your days visiting the top tourist attractions in New Orleans . These include The French Quarter (don't miss Bourbon Street ), National WWII Museum , and Jackson Square .

If you've never heard of Cannon Beach, consider this your lucky day. Best known for its towering 235-foot-tall Haystack Rock , this stunning beach is so unique and wonderful, you'd be forgiven for thinking you're on an island in French Polynesia. Not surprisingly, this rock is one of the best attractions on the Oregon Coast , and visiting Cannon Beach is one of the top things to do in Oregon .
Heading the list of the best beaches on the Oregon Coast , Cannon Beach is a gem worthy of a 1,000 photographs. It lies on the coastal edge of the small Oregon town of the same name, an easy, two-hour drive from the attractions of Portland . Here, you'll find cute arcades, candy shops, a glassworks store, and themed restaurants.
The best time to visit Cannon Beach is during low tide, when a whole new world comes to life—literally. This is when the rock pools emerge, and visitors are left to examine the unique and colorful creatures left behind by the waves. There are plenty of places to stay here, so be prepared to spend the night.

Ayan Broomfield—Athlete and Girlfriend of Frances Tiafoe—Blends Tennis, Beauty, and Travel to Give Back

There’s a good chance you’ve seen 26-year-old Ayan Broomfield –a former Division 1 college tennis champion, content creator and long-term girlfriend of the professional tennis player Frances Tiafoe –without necessarily realizing it.
In 2021’s King Richard , Broomfield stepped in as the actress Saniyya Sidney’s body double in a number of tennis scenes, depicting Venus Williams in the nascency of her extraordinary (and still going!) career. It marked just one of a few turns in the spotlight that have underscored Broomfield’s newish path in creating and influencing—she was also a compelling feature in Netflix’s docuseries Break Point , which had Tiafoe as one of its main protagonists. I’ve been lucky enough to get on court with her, too, and she’s still got it (Broomfield won the NCAA Division I Women’s Doubles Championship in 2019 while playing for UCLA). Think: Deep groundstrokes, a great net game, and an equally radiant personality to boot.
In her global travels, Broomfield has signed brand partnerships with such names as INNBeauty, Bumble and bumble, Bondi Sands, Years of Ours, and the tennis giant Wilson. While doing so, she has found a synergistic way to weave in philanthropy–Broomfield launched her eponymous foundation earlier this year.
Here, over a discussion in a penthouse suite at the Delano in Las Vegas (where Tiafoe is participating in Netflix’s The Netflix Slam in early March), she tells us about how she’s giving back, her beauty tips, and a bit of tennis advice for us mere mortals.
You’ve launched the Ayan Broomfield Foundation , a namesake philanthropic project. Tell us about it.
Ayan Broomfield: I started traveling full-time with Frances about a year and a half ago. I felt it pretty quickly–we were going from city to city, and receiving so much from the sport. I was gaining all these experiences, but hadn’t given anything back. I didn’t come from a lot of money, and growing up, my Dad was always super, super adamant about giving back when you could, with the resources you could. So with the Foundation, I wanted to try and merge the travel, merge the content creation side of things, and merge philanthropy all together.
AB: At each main tournament that I go to, I find a local charity or organization to partner with. And I use one of my brand deals to work on donations, with either money or product. For example, at the Miami Open (occurring from March 17 to March 31), I partnered with Lotus House , which is a local Miami women’s shelter. I work with INNBeauty , and I was like, ‘hey, look, they need sunscreen.’ It’s something that gets overlooked so often. So, INNBeauty is donating 500 units to the shelter. When we’re in Miami, I’m going to play pickleball with the kids, too. A little event to get people together. So, yeah. I’m trying to merge it all together, with everything I’ve been given from the sport!
I saw you did something during the Australian Open earlier this year to kick things off–was that the start of it?
AB: I did! I did a few things in Melbourne. One of them was to hit with some of the kids at the Boys and Girls Club. One girl told me she’d been in six different foster homes, and coming to play tennis was a highlight for her. I think a lot of people don’t realize how much of a release it is, being outside, making contact with the ball. It’s a euphoric feeling when it goes well. If I can provide a bit of euphoria to anyone through this, I’m going to do my best.
You work with beauty partners such as INNBeauty, Bumble and bumble, and Bondi Sands. Tell me about your beauty tips–any rules or gold standards, first and foremost?
I mean honestly, it's funny because coming from playing tennis, beauty was never something that I worried about. For me, it was always about the game first. So it was a big switch, from being a full-time athlete. Now, I do think about what I’m wearing, what makeup I have on.
You’ve been on Netflix’s Break Point , you’re a rising social media name, you were in King Richard . You know the drill!
And, in paying more attention to it, my main rule is: Always use good tinted moisturizers with sunscreen. I think as you go grow older, you realize how important sunscreen is.
What about fitness and wellness while you’re on the go? It can be hard to do so, even if you’re not jet-lagged.
I love the 12-3-30 workout on the treadmill. Incline on 12, 3 miles per hour, 30 minutes. It’s my go-to. I knock that out every day. Also when you’re traveling a lot, gyms at hotels can be inconsistent. I bring bands everywhere I go, now. And you don’t even have to go to the gym for that. You can band workout wherever!
You’ve played tennis at an elite level. You witness elite tennis week in and week out while traveling with Frances. But for amateur tennis players, in general, what would you say are some great tips to keep in mind? I need Ayan Broomfield coaching!
Tennis is like riding a bike. You never 100 percent lose it, if you know it. So, have confidence in that! I also think when you’re out hitting, don’t just hit aimlessly. Take 20 or 30 minutes to focus and work on something specific. Two cross-courts, one down the line–that’s one of my favorite repetitions.
So a little discipline goes a long way, even if just playing casually?
Yeah. And don’t forget to do the same at net. I love my net game. Set up structures for net practice, emphasizing reaction time. If you’re playing with someone strong, encourage them to hit it harder, forcing you to react quicker.
I could use that training.
Oh, one more thing: A while ago, I invested in a ball machine. Sometimes when you’re stressed, it’s good to just let it out on court. Go and put a 100 balls in the machine. Then let it out on 100 forehands.

Ex-Tennessee Titans scout Blaise Taylor charged after deaths of girlfriend, unborn child
Blaise A. Taylor, a former Arkansas State football player and Tennessee Titans scout, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder after the poisoning deaths last year of his girlfriend and her unborn baby.
Taylor, 27, was arrested by United States Marshals in Utah this week after a Nashville grand jury returned an indictment against him Wednesday.
The charges against Taylor stem from Feb. 25, 2023, when Taylor called 911 at 9:38 p.m. to report that his girlfriend, Jade Benning, 25, appeared to be having an allergic reaction and asked for paramedics, Metro Nashville police said.
Benning was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she remained hospitalized until her death a little more than a week later, on March 6. The unborn child died on Feb. 27.
Investigators said they were unable to interview Benning before her death.

After months of investigation by police, crime lab scientists and the medical examiner, it was determined that Benning had been "poisoned without her knowledge," after Taylor visited her apartment, police said in a news release Friday.
Taylor worked as a scout with the Tennessee Titans for four years after he played as defensive back at Arkansas State from 2014-17.
He was hired by Texas A&M's defensive staff on March 6, where his father Trooper Taylor serves as the running backs coach, after he served as a defensive analyst at Utah State.

In 'The Casagrandes Movie,' a family trip to Mexico turns into a wild adventure
A new animated fantasy comedy movie that follows the adventures of a preteen Latina who wants to do her own thing while surrounded by her multigenerational Mexican American family premieres Friday on Netflix.
“The Casagrandes Movie” extends the fun of the Nickelodeon series that ran for three years before wrapping up in 2022. The film features Ronalda “Ronnie Anne” Santiago — who first appeared as a character in Nickelodeon's “The Loud House” before getting her own series — who's looking forward to spending summer vacation skateboarding with her friends, but is instead surprised with a family trip to Mexico to visit her relatives for her 12th birthday.
Voiced by actor Izabella Alvarez, Ronnie Anne ends up accidentally freeing the ancient, angst-filled demigod Punguari of the Purépecha, an Indigenous community in the Mexican state of Michoacán.
“The best part for me is that we got to represent the Purépecha community — you hear about Aztecs and Mayans, but there are many Indigenous cultures in Mexico,” director Miguel Puga told NBC News in an interview. Puga grew up traveling to that region of Mexico during his own summer and winter school breaks.
The movie included cultural consultants to ensure correct and appropriate language and images, and while it's largely in English, the film includes some Spanish and Purépecha.
The cast includes actors Sonia Manzano, who played the iconic María on “Sesame Street”; Cristo Fernández of “ Ted Lasso ” fame; and Kate del Castillo.
“When I do anything, I always think, ‘What would I want to watch?’ And representation is always something fought for in this movie; my daughter is 10 years old, and I want her to see herself in the characters,” Puga said. “People can say, ‘Hey, there are people that look like me.’ This movie is fun for all ages.”
The movie "deals with some mother-daughter drama that is universal, and it features 'la chancla,' which is also universal — that’s a funny part and a big part of the movie," Puga said, referring to the "chancla force" unleashed by Ronnie Anne's grandmother when she uses her "chancla," or house slippers, as a weapon.
Cartoonist and humorist Lalo Alcaraz is one of the movie’s writers and a cultural consultant.
“The family trips to Mexico are something real common around the West and Southwest because we’re so close to the border, but it may not be known to many elsewhere, so I’m glad we were able to show that,” he said. “And you don’t normally see the Mexican culture from Michoacán. I want us to see ourselves reflected not just in a positive way but also in a realistic way, and cartoons, animation, is a good way to tell the truth.
“I want people to enjoy seeing themselves and being reminded of their families, and maybe it will inspire people to go to Mexico more and for some to go to get to know their background,” Alcaraz said.
Rosemary Contreras, previously a story editor and writer on several shows including “Dora the Explorer,” “Go, Diego, Go!” and “Dora and Friends,” is also one of the movie's writers and was planning to take her 12-year-old daughter, a “huge” “Casagrandes” fan, to the premiere.
"As a child growing up in the San Fernando Valley (California), we never had this," Contreras said. "So the fact that I can give my daughter a movie that has not only an awesome all-brown familia, along with the cast and a lot of the crew, it’s a dream come true. It's such a rare thing."
Puga said he was still "pinching myself every day because I got to direct this movie. ... Putting more of us on the screen is something I want to keep doing."

Jonathan Majors has been sued by his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari for alleged assault, battery and defamation from incidents dating between 2021 and 2023. Last December, Majors was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of harassment and assault against Jabbari from a March 2023 altercation in New York City.
Majors and Jabbari met in 2021 while the actor was filming Marvel ‘s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” in London, and they subsequently began dating. They moved into a London apartment together while he filmed Season 2 of Marvel’s “Loki” series in 2022. In the lawsuit, Jabbari alleges that she was subjected to physical and emotional abuse and controlling behavior while they dated, and that Majors would threaten to harm himself if she ended their relationship.
During one incident in Los Angeles in 2022, Jabbari’s lawsuit alleges that “Majors became angry with Grace. She became afraid and instinctively tried to calm him down. Majors began shouting in Grace’s face and grabbed both her arms, pinning them to her body. He then shoved her into the shower door, causing the shower door to open. He then threw her body into the shower wall, causing her head to hit the wall. When Grace tried to escape, things escalated. In an effort to stop the abuse, Grace informed Majors that she was going to have to inform his team of what he had done to her, at which point, Majors began throwing candles and other objects in a frenzied state, denting the wall and leaving glass shattered on the floor.”
The lawsuit also includes text messages between the couple in which Majors dissuaded Jabbari from seeking medical help and threatened to kill himself. Parts of these texts were used in the December 2023 trial, though they were only allowed as background information and not evidence related to the March 2023 altercation.
Majors is set to be sentenced next month for his December 2023 conviction. In the wake of his conviction, he was fired by Marvel from his villain role as Kang the Conqueror, and his bodybuilding movie, “Magazine Dreams,” was removed from Searchlight’s release calendar. Though his acting career has taken a turn following his conviction, he recently attended the NAACP Awards last weekend with his girlfriend, Meagan Good.
