First responders rescue pedestrian pinned under truck on KU campus
LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - First responders pulled a pedestrian that had been pinned underneath a delivery truck on the University of Kansas’ Lawrence campus.
The University of Kansas Police Department tells KCTV5 News that just after 11:10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10, emergency crews were called to the area of Jayhawk Blvd. and Sunflower Rd. with reports of a pedestrian-vehicle collision.
When first responders arrived, they said they found a pedestrian in the crosswalk had been hit by an oncoming delivery truck. The pedestrian had been pinned underneath the vehicle when they got there.
Police noted that Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical helped to get the individual out from underneath the vehicle before they were taken to Stormont Vail Health in Topeka with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
KUPD indicated that the investigation into the incident remains ongoing. No further information has been released.
