TUI, one of the world’s leading tourism businesses, is targeting product led growth in existing and untapped customer segments with the launch of TUI tours. The new platform tuitours.com is a cutting-edge tool that enables the digital production of group and individual tours by travel advisors and customers and simplifying the development of multi-day tours and roundtrips. The growing tours market is valued at 100 billion USD, with annual growth of 6 per cent – yet is largely offline and highly fragmented. TUI is already a market leader and since 2018 has provided tours for over 500,000 customers, but plans to drive further growth with the TUI tours platform, which has been launched in Belgium ahead of its international roll out.

The TUI tours platform is a single, end to end system that enables sourcing, production, distribution and fulfilment of tours. Built in conjunction with Nezasa, an award-winning travel tech startup, the platform provides fast and accurate itinerary development, with real time pricing and availability, in a modern drag & drop system, simplifying the previously complex process of building tours. Customers and travel advisors select from group or individual itineraries, which they can then seamlessly personalize in real time with access to TUI and third-party travel components, including flights, accommodation, transfers, car rental, experiences, and guides. This reflects the demands of the modern traveler for greater flexibility and convenience.

The TUI tours platform is initially available exclusively in Belgium to travel advisors and direct to customers, with a wider international roll out during 2023 and 2024. The platform replaces previously used local solutions and includes the full portfolio of existing Group tours offered by TUI.

What is a Tour?

‘Tours’, also known as ‘multi-day tours’ and ‘roundtrips’, vary in duration from two nights to several weeks, with a travel itinerary covering different regions / destinations / cities / islands in one or several countries.

There are two main types of tour: A Group tour, where the customers travels with like-minded individuals, or an Individual tour, which is organized on a more private basis for one or multiple customers.

A tour always includes accommodation and normally transportation, as well as other optional products and services, including experiences, guides and flights.

The TUI tours platform enables customers and travel advisors to adjust any a proposed tour element, or design a dream itinerary from scratch. In many cases, an extension can be added at the end or beginning of the tour to combine exploration with relaxation, e.g. some days at a beachside hotel.

This tour was fantastic! In Rome the hotel was in a great location and had a lovely breakfast but my single room was really small and had a single bed. In Florence the hotel was in a great location, was first rate and had a lovely breakfast. My single room was large and had a king size bed.

Great trip! The organizer worked with our arrival schedule to make first attraction timing to meet less stressful - appreciated that. The private tours of the Uffizi and Accademia Galleries were super - the guides were knowledgeable and open to any question. The day trip to Tuscany was memorable - the free time at Monteriggioni castle town on the hill and San Gimignano allowed us to explore on our own. The wine (and incredible tasting balsamic vinegar) tasing event at Poggio ai Laghi also in Monteriggioni was a superb and fun event. The presenter was both knowledgeable and entertaining. Well worth the trip!!

Phil Mickelson's brutal assessment of Jay Monahan's LIV Golf U-turn as PGA Tour chief agrees to merger

P hil Mickelson has never hidden his feelings about Jay Monahan and the PGA Tour's merger with LIV Golf. He criticized Monahan for how he handled the situation with LIV Golf before agreeing to merge with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF).

When LIV Golf first started, many big names in golf, including Mickelson , signed up for big-money deals to join the Saudi-backed group. They've been playing for huge prizes while having a lighter schedule.

But when the new series came along and shook up the world of professional golf, those who switched to LIV Golf faced a lot of criticism, with those who stayed loyal to the PGA Tour making their feelings clear on those who departed.

PGA Tour commissioner Monahan also faced a lot of criticism, from both sides of the golf divide.

Players like Mickelson think Monahan has been hypocritical with the announcement of the merger, which is believed to have formed the decision-making behind current Masters champion Jon Rahm's switch to LIV.

Back in June, the PIF surprisingly agreed to a 'framework agreement' on a merger with the PGA Tour and DP World Tour, seemingly suggesting an end to the big split in golf.

The merger put a pause on the ongoing legal battle between the tours as they aim to become one. A signed agreement will merge the PGA Tour and LIV's business operations and rights into a new, yet-to-be-named company.

The merger is still in the works. When news of the merger broke last summer, it caused quite a stir in the sports world. Mickelson, who has been vocal about his issues with the PGA Tour, didn't hold back his feelings towards Monahan.

He retweeted a harsh post by Flushing It on X: "The latest issue of Australian Golf Digest is a fantastic read. The Premier of South Australia absolutely nails the moral argument about LIV Golf."

The magazine article in question described Monahan's initial stance of taking the "moral high ground" as a "temporary self-serving position".

Flushing It added: "As we move nine months on from the original 'framework argument', it's really important to remember what an abhorrent PR campaign Ponte Vedra used to try and discredit LIV and anyone who supported it's arrival."

"There was never a concern over the source of the money, this fight was always purely about maintaining a monopoly and trying to prevent the power shift at the top of the sport from moving east. Hopefully everyone can see that clearly now."

Former PGA Tour pro Chris DiMarco shared his thoughts on how commissioner Jay Monahan has been dealing with the tension between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. Speaking to the Subpar Podcast , DiMarco didn't hold back.

"Not to bash Jay Monahan, but I think he handled it terribly," said DiMarco. "In the beginning have the cut and dry [stance] that he did, I think it was a little too much."

"I think he should have let some of this soak in and see what was going to happen, and he just got to a point where it got black and white, that's it. I think he could have done a little bit better of a job with that, the guys had stuck by. Like Rory McIlroy, these guys have turned down a lot of money and what do they have to show for it? These guys get to come back and play, I'd be pretty ticked off if I was them."
