Amazing tour with Katerina

We took a guided tour on May 26th with City Wonders. Our guide was Katerina, not only was she knowledgeable, she was interesting and very friendly.we had a wonderful tour!

Our guide Marika, was delightful, helpful, and very knowledgeable about Milanese history and especially the architecture and sights of the Duomo. We enjoyed the tour and highly recommend her. We did not go to the other sites listed, possibly because we did not have enough time. We were most disappointed after signing up for the tour many weeks in advance to receive a call 2 days before departure that we would be unable to view the Last Supper. No reason was given. Our impression (which may not be true) was that the company did not arrange for the tickets in time. They have offered us 50% off the tour price. We hope we will receive it. So far we have not been credited.

The worst travel experience we have ever had and we have travelled extensively. The small group of "less than 25" which we paid a higher price for was 63 people. They even turned away people who had booked and arrived at the departure point. They must haven taken money from 80+ people for this "small group" tour. Only 1/4 of people on the bus wore face masks even though it is still mandatory in Italy. Bellagio was horrific. We walked from restaurant to restaurant for 2 hours because they were all full. They tour company could have told you in advance what to expect so you could have pre booked lunch. There was nowhere to even buy fruit or sit. The "cruise" was a public ferry not a smaller private boat you would expect for the price and it was like an apocalyptic movie being shoved forward in the large criwd in the heat on to an oversold ferry for 2 hours where you couldn't see past the crowds to see Lake Como. Everyone on the trip complained about the misleading by the tour company. Best advice. Get a train to Como have a nice meal and then hire a water taxi to cruise Lake Como. Avoid Bellagio. It is not Capri. It is very chaotic. The Switzerland part of the trip was good except for the more than double people on the trip.

We ordered tickets for this tour two months in advance. Now, one day before the tour, it is cancelled with no explanation given. Tickets to see The Last Supper are very limited (only tickets available are in two months), so we have no way of seeing it while we are here.

DO NOT BOOK with this company! I just arrived in Milan today and my tour is for tomorrow. I received a link at 9:00 am in the morning and just went to pull it up again and the link is "old" So I went to my Trip Advisor booking link only to find out this company cancelled my booking! I booked this tour back in March... Now there is no tickets available until middle of June! VERY IRRESPONSIBLE. So I called their customer service to try and sort it out, after being on hold for a long time, I finally spoke to Simona of City Wonders and she could not tell me why it was cancelled but offered to book me again in a MONTH! Truly irresponsible company - do not book with them! I would give them a zero rating if I could!

Communication from TripAdvisor with tickets stated we wouldn't be able to go into the Doumo as it was a Sunday. When we arrived at the meeting point, we were asked if we'd bought ID as this may be required for access to the Last Supper - nothinig of this in the communication and we had left our ID in hotel. Not a good start. We started the tour and after a short time, we were going into the Duomo (so access is ok on a Sunday!) but required masks - we had some, but a couple didn't, so had to go to buy them (why not ask this at the outset?). After that initial poor communication and start, the tour was excellent. Good wander around and inside the Duomo, to the Citadel and finally, to the Last Supper (where, as it turned out, we didn't need ID). Really interesting and knowledgable guide.

Be aware - This company is a fraud - Stay away

Be aware. City Wonders is a fraudulent company. They scammed us. We booked Their Pompeii and Positano Tour, 1 month before arriving in Rome. We emailed them the first day when we booked that we are only taking this tour for Positano and wondering how much free time we would have there. They replied and said 2:30 hours of free time. This company took our money $588.00 for 2 adult and 2 children , took us to Pompeii and then on the way to Positano, 10 miles away, they turned back and said, because it was traffic earlier and we were behind schedule, they decided not to go to Positano, JUST LIKE THAT ! they turned back and said no worries, we will offer refund. After 30 emails back and forth , they said we can only offer 30% refund and asked us NOT to contact them anymore and instead reach out to Expedia for refund. When we talked to expedia, they informed us, City Wonders did not even autorized any refund. When Expedia reach out to them they did not even answer there phones. This company is a complete fraud. They are scammers and because they know you are traveling from other places, you can not legally challenge them, so they do whatever they want with no refund. To this day, we have not recieved any refund they offered ( which was not even fair ). They use Positano Name and pictures in their tour and then do not take people there. We checked other reviews and believe me, there are many other people who experienced the same thing with this company. They are total fraud. STAY AWAY FROM THIS TOUR COMPANY.

Fantastic Tour

This tour is well worth doing, the meeting point was very easy to find and our tour guide Elly was there ready to greet us. Elly was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely informative! The glass blowing demonstration at Murano Island was amazing, incredible to see these craftsman at work. Burano Island is so pretty with all the different coloured buildings. Would highly recommend this tour and if your guide is Elly, you are very fortunate!

Never recommend it to anyone

If I could give zero star, I would definitely rate it that way. We were late for 5 minutes for one of the tour and they were not even hesitate to help us to accommodate in the tour. They gave our tickets without further help and left us alone although we were there. The funniest part was we had tour other day and we had to wait more than 15 minutes for other travellers to join. We were really frustrated of what was happened and it did negatively affected our trip. The worse experience we have ever had in our life. Never recommend the city wonder in rome as there is no any support or sympathy.

Anais gave a wonderful skip-the-line…

Anais gave a wonderful skip-the-line tour of the Louvre today to our group of 4 plus 7 others. She was knowledgeable, informative, and moved us along so we could see many of the important works in the Louvre. That Museum can be so overwhelming but we saw a lot in only 3 hours. She was also very attentive the different members of the group and worked hard to make sure we all stayed relatively together. Four thumbs up!

Misleading and Expensive

Misleading as you are not paying for missing the queue at Eiffel Tower You gather then walk to join the regular queue. Tickets are not pre purchased to avoid customers waiting. Ticket prices at the booth are vastly cheaper than the tour price even after you factor in paying for a guide. We were unable to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower due to volume. Ironically, we would have made the top if we had not wasted time waiting for the tour group to assemble ! Refund is disproportionate to the cost and the customer service email does not listen to rationale. Avoid using. We have learned our lesson.

Walking Tour Before War Rooms

I really enjoyed the walking tour with guide David before entry into Churchill’s War Rooms. Lots of information about Winston Churchill’s life and story and he delivered this in a fun and interesting way. A really good Tour but not perfect as he mentioned West Ham United - that’s the only thing I’d Hammer him for. Thank you for the fantastic tour - a very enjoyable afternoon!

Daniel is the best guide

Our guide Daniel did an outstanding job guiding us to and through the island of Mont Saint Michel.Unfortunately the other guide ( we forgot her name) was hard to understand, because of her accent, but Daniel made up for it and provided useful information, not only about Mont Saint Michel, but about the entire region. We could spend approximately 3 hours on the island and visit the abbey in a perfect pace. The whole group had a good energy and we stuck together like a family. Our two drivers were friendly as well. Thank you Daniel en City wonders for providing us an unforgettable experience! Top notch!

Our tour guide Robert & driver Barrington were fantastic. The tour information from Robert very much enhanced our experience at Stonehenge, Bath & Windsor Castle. They both were super down to earth, knowledgeable & fun. We highly recommend this excursion to see & learn a lot in just one day. Awesome company & staff!

We arrived late for our tour and one of…

We arrived late for our tour and one of the guides kindly took us to try and catchup which we did fortunately, but they did say they would put us in aater group if not...... Carlos the group guide was really lovely and knowledgeable about all things Collesium and Palletine Hill. He was constantly looking for shady and less crowded places which was appreciated on the scorching heat of the day! Would highly recommend....

City Wonders Unreliable and Untrusted

City Wonders canceled our tour we had arranged more than 70 days before, leaving us a sold out venue and no alternatives. A week before our travel date they cancel saying, “the museum canceled all tour tickets”. This seemed unlikely to me so Zi checked it out. Two other tour operators told me they have never had that happen and a call to the museum found they were equally unaware of that ever occurring. So I suppose add dishonesty to poor customer service.

Stay away from this Company

Stay away from this Company. Eiffel Tower trip to summit booked and paid in advance. Ticket should be COLLECTED before adventure begins ( as booking says) They had no the tickets for us, they were BUYING tickets on time of entry where at this stage summit was closed due to capacity...... Joke.... Lift to top was going constantly just tickets weren't possible to buy ( where we paid few days in advance to secure an experience )..... Even later when summit tickets were available, our booking wasn't valid anymore & were refused to enter..... Terrible service

Bath, Windsor, and Stonehenge

Our driver Barrington and guide Robert were fantastic. Barrington made the trip very smooth and went out of his way to make the tour comfortable. Robert's passion for history shines through in his descriptions of the people, places, and events surrounding the sites on our tour (Bath, Windsor, and Stonehenge). If I were to book again, I'd gladly take Barrington and Robert as driver and guide, but I'd only try to visit two of the sites in one day. Despite being a very long day, there isn't enough time to take in each location.

Pere Lachaise tour

17. July: This is a well organised tour which wound its way through the labyrinth of Pere Lachaise cemetery. It was very well directed by our tour guide, Becky, who spoke knowledgeably about each grave whilst allowing us time to linger and maybe to take photos. She was happy to answer questions. She made the experience most enjoyable!

Amazing tour of the colosseum, Roman forum and palatine hill! Our tour guide Patrick with city wonders was incredible. Such a lovely and kind man which made the experience even better, we learned so much and really enjoyed the day. We had an amazing time and highly recommend. Never book your trip to Pompeii with them

Absolutely disappointing experience. We booked a tour to Pompeii from Rome and we barely spent 80 min in the archaeological site. The trip is supposed to be focused on the visit to Pompeii, however you actually waste more time near Vesuvius where you might be lucky (if the weather is favourable) to have a glimpse of the ruins from there. You don't really get to climb to the top of the volcano either, as they deliberately want you to believe before booking the trip. Once you finally get to Pompeii, a fantastic archaeological site where you could spend hours, the local guide was given the instructions to bring us back to the bus in less than 90 min. The local guide was lovely and tried his best after being allowed such short time to show us around. The whole thing was so rushed that there was no chance to enjoy it. If you're really interested in exploring this wonderful site, avoid a tour with them.

Absolutely terrible

Absolutely terrible. The idiot that we had was not only completely unprofessional but was sprouting lies about the Vatican the whole time. Bit sure of mistranslation to English or just had no clue. She's seemed to think that her charm was enough to get get through. If I could rate less that 1 I would Avoid at all costs

BIG SCAMMER ALERT!!! DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!! BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK! I booked a tour for Buckingham Palace and Changing of Guards with guide but NO GUIDE ONLY ENTRANCE TICKET! YOU CAN JUST BUY DIRECTLY FROM BUCKINGHAM PALACE WHICH IS ONLY 30 POUNDS EACH PERSON!!! I PAID 68 POUNDS FOR NOTHING! Very terrible! So disappointing with my first trip to London and City Wonders.

Tuscany W/3 course lunch and wine tasting

My husband and I took the Tuscany day trip with 3 course lunch and wine tasting and everything was amazing!!! I hope if you decide to book you are blessed enough to have Enrica as your guide. She was so comforting, pleasant, and refreshing and you can tell she enjoys what she does. Enrica is knowledgeable and just a sweet soul overall. The scenery is picturesque, the food delicious, and the wine pours generous. There is some uphill walking but it’s paced to please. You’ll love the shopping and the wonderful village and history. Just book it!! I forgot to add, Antonio was our driver and he was just as wonderful.
