Last month, Tom released the official music video for the song “A Different Light” . The track is taken from Tom ‘s critically acclaimed solo debut album, “The Way Life Goes” , which is celebrating its tenth anniversary.

Keifer ‘s story begins as the singer-songwriter, guitarist and frontman of hard rock heavyweights CINDERELLA . His signature voice, guitar and bluesy, no-B.S. arena-shaking songwriting, played an integral role in moving records to the tune of 15 million worldwide. Tom Keifer is enjoying continued success recording and touring with #keiferband — Tom Keifer , Savannah Keifer , Tony Higbee , Billy Mercer , Kendra Chantelle , Jarred Pope and Kory Myers — releasing two critically acclaimed solo albums, the aforementioned “The Way Life Goes” and “Rise” .

“When this band came together, we all felt a bit like broken souls, each with our own unique story,”  Tom  explains. “If you ask anyone in the band, they would all say this band came along at just the right time. Every human who walks this planet faces challenges and extreme adversity they have to overcome. As a band, we feel fortunate to be able to face those things together. There is a piece of every band member in the ‘The Death Of Me’ as well as throughout the entire  ‘Rise’  album.”

The common thread to each song on  “Rise”  is the intuitive interplay between each member of  #keiferband , a tight but loose collective that’s spent the last six-plus years on the road honing their live craft together in support of  Keifer ‘s critically acclaimed 2013 solo debut,  “The Way Life Goes” .  “Rise”  is the studio-bred equivalent of a band just now realizing the full scope of its powers.

“We were trying to capture the feeling of what people have witnessed live with this band,”   Keifer  explains. “ There’s an off-the-rails, real live feel to  ‘Rise’  — and that’s what we were going for. It shows a real kind of angst and reckless abandon that we tried not to polish too much. And when we pull it back on the ballads, it’s more about the emotion, the soul, and making people feel something in a different way.”

“To me, the perfect rock and roll record is perfectly f**ked up,”   Keifer  says with a hearty laugh. “You try to make each record interesting and different. I don’t ever want to make the same record twice, even though there’s a common thread between them. Everything doesn’t have to be perfectly in place, but there is a balance you try to strike. Sometimes there may be something about it that’s technically not ‘right,’ but there’s a vibe, an energy and an attitude to it that I always try to preserve.”

Tom  was scheduled to join forces with  RATT ,  SKID ROW  and  SLAUGHTER  for  “The Big Rock Summer Tour” this past summer, but the trek was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Last month, Tom released the official music video for the song “ A Different Light “. The track is taken from Tom’s critically acclaimed solo debut album, “ The Way Life Goes “, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary.

The new video, produced and edited by Joshua Smith , features fan-shot live footage of Tom Keifer ‘s solo group, known as the #keiferband from the first year on tour (2013) through the most recent tour in 2022. Opening in somber black-and-white profiles of suffering souls, Tom Keifer ‘s sultry vocals reflect the troubles of those in despair as shimmering instrumental vibrations build into an iconic key change. Within the first minute, the viewer is graced with an exalted perspective, and a fully technicolor, changed world. The anthem and video wind between contemplative compassion and explosive enthusiasm, ultimately landing on a perspective of hope and array of smiles where “everybody shines.”

Tom Keifer ‘s story begins as the singer-songwriter, guitarist and frontman of hard rock heavyweights CINDERELLA . His signature voice, guitar and bluesy, no-B.S. arena-shaking songwriting, played an integral role in moving records to the tune of 15 million worldwide. Tom Keifer is enjoying continued success recording and touring with #keiferband — Tom Keifer, Savannah Keifer, Tony Higbee, Billy Mercer, Kendra Chantelle, Jarred Pope and Kory Myers — releasing two critically acclaimed solo albums, the aforementioned “ The Way Life Goes ” and “ Rise “.

“ Rise “, released in September 2019 on Cleopatra Records, features the rousing, rollicking rock singles “ The Death Of Me ” and “ Hype “. Both singles landed in the Billboard Mainstream Rock Top 40 . Keifer’s deep-seated roots shine through to the very core on “ Rise “, something that was embedded at the very heart of his music created during the multiplatinum CINDERELLA days.

“When this band came together, we all felt a bit like broken souls, each with our own unique story,” Tom explained. “If you ask anyone in the band, they would all say this band came along at just the right time. Every human who walks this planet faces challenges and extreme adversity they have to overcome. As a band, we feel fortunate to be able to face those things together. There is a piece of every band member in the ‘ The Death Of Me ‘ as well as throughout the entire ‘ Rise ‘ album.”

The common thread to each song on “ Rise ” is the intuitive interplay between each member of #keiferband , a tight but loose collective that’s spent the last few years on the road honing their live craft together. “ Rise ” is the studio-bred equivalent of a band just now realizing the full scope of its powers.

“We were trying to capture the feeling of what people have witnessed live with this band,” Keifer explained. “There’s an off-the-rails, real live feel to ‘ Rise ‘ — and that’s what we were going for. It shows a real kind of angst and reckless abandon that we tried not to polish too much. And when we pull it back on the ballads, it’s more about the emotion, the soul, and making people feel something in a different way.”

“To me, the perfect rock and roll record is perfectly fucked up,” Keifer said with a hearty laugh.

CINDERELLA ‘s last studio album, “ Still Climbing “, was released in 1994, however the band would reunite for occasional shows again starting in 2010. Those reunion shows seem to have been put on hold indefinitely following the 2021 death of CINDERELLA guitarist Jeff LaBar .

Tom Keifer Band, with Winger and John Corabi, Launch Live/Loud Tour at the Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, Thursday, June 15, 2023

  • June 16, 2023
  • International Concert Reviews
  • by Elliott Gordon Photographer/Writer

The historic Buckhead Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday night hosted the Tom Keifer Band for the second time in just under a year. Built in 1930, this 1,800-capacity venue was originally designed in a Spanish baroque style and has a general admission floor setting with an upper, seated balcony area.

Previously performing at this venue back in July 2022 while headlining his Sonic Slam Tour with L.A. Guns and Faster Pussycat in support, Keifer kicked off this Live/Loud 2023 Tour with Winger and John Corabi now in tow. Live/Loud also commemorates the ten-year milestone anniversary of the #Keiferband.

Getting the night – and tour – started at 8:00pm was musician John Corabi. While perhaps best well-known for the period in the ’90s as the (temporary) replacement for Motley Crue singer Vince Neil , the 64-year-old Corabi is a stellar artist all on his own. I have caught him a handful of times while attending the Monsters on the Mountain festivals these past few years in Tennessee. His solo performances are always a treat, and Thursday night was no different, dazzling the crowd as just a man and his microphone for 30 minutes.

Corabi’s career perspective was woven into his short set, which included a cover of Motley Crue’s “Hooligan’s Holiday” as well as The Scream ‘s “Man in the Moon.” His personality was also on full display, at one point joking that he would be out in the audience when done and would be happy to sign whatever, except he follows two rules – “I don’t sign checks. And I don’t sign penises.” Hysterical. This tour is now officially a lead up to Corabi heading back out in August with the Dead Daisies , whom he just rejoined a few short weeks ago, so if you don’t catch him acoustically on this run, you will get another shot to enjoy him live later this year.

Following a quick turn, Winger took to the stage at 8:45pm and opened with “Stick the Knife in and Twist,” a brand new track. It is worth mentioning that 2023 has already been a busy year for Winger. Not only is the band out on the road supporting its latest (and amazing) studio release, Seven (May 2023), but 2023 marks their 35th anniversary. Prior to picking up this Live/Loud Tour, Winger also just got off a European run of dates in support of Steel Panther .

I last caught Winger a bit over a year ago when they were on tour supporting Skid Row on the Live to Rock Tour. However, founding member Reb Beach was out on the road with Whitesnake at that time and was substituted with guitarist Jake Faun . As mentioned in that concert review , jokingly I should probably recuse myself from reviewing their set Thursday night – Winger is one of my favorite bands, and in fact, their self-titled debut was the very first CD I ever purchased (back when they came in those long cardboard boxes).

That all aside, if you are a long time Winger fan like me, you will enjoy their setlist on this tour, but might be slightly disappointed to learn that they only performed short of an hour. Kip energetically lead the band through nearly a dozen songs (some of them abbreviated, however), and showcased another of their newest tunes mid-set, “Proud Desperado,” from Seven . Fan favorites “Hungry” and “Time to Surrender” didn’t make the cut Thursday night, but it was great hearing “Pull Me Under” from Karma live.

Beach performed like the consummate guitar maestro (hero?) that you’d expect (especially during his solo), and the rest of the band of brothers in Rod Morgenstein (drums), Paul Taylor (keyboards/guitar), and Howie Simon (subbing in on guitar for John Roth who is currently out with Starship , I believe) were as musically tight as ever. Winger never disappoints, and the title of this tour rang true – they were loud.

Reb Beach – Lead and rhythm guitar, backing vocals Rod Morgenstein – Drums, percussion, backing vocals John Roth – Rhythm and lead guitar, backing vocals (did not appear) Howie Simon – Rhythm and lead guitar, backing vocals Paul Taylor – Keyboards, rhythm and lead guitar, backing vocals Kip Winger – Lead vocals, bass

As the clock clicked past 10:15pm, the audience energy hit a fevered pitch as Tom Keifer and the band took to the venue stage. Similar to the start of his set back on the Sonic Slam Tour, Keifer and his bandmates huddled in front of the drum riser before starting their night off with “Life Was Here” from the 2019 album Rise .

To be transparent, I am also a huge Cinderella fan. In fact, prior to the Sonic Slam Tour, I found my faded April 28, 1989 ticket stub ($17.50!) from the Long Cold Winter headlining tour with Winger and the Bullet Boys as the opening acts. Where has the time gone?

With a setlist pulled from Keifer’s three-decade-plus catalog, crossing Night Songs (1986) through Rise (2019), the band guided the capacity crowd through a musical journey that for many likely had ’80s memories surfaced of cruising neighborhood streets with high school friends, or just hanging out at mall arcade on a Friday night. Iconic songs like “Coming Home” and “The Last Mile” were on heavy radio rotation back then and are certainly part of the soundtrack to my youth, and to those singing along aside me Thursday night.

Keifer’s voice sounded as strong as ever, and while the 90-minute setlist was similar to the Sonic Slam tour, the crowd definitely welcomed the additions of  Cinderella’s “Hot and Bothered” and “Heartbreak Station” to the performance. In fact, Keifer even joked that he has been harassed constantly on social media recently to include “Heartbreak Station,” so the fans won out, apparently.

After completing their main set with “Shelter Me” from the 1991 Heartbreak Station album, the band rolled out the piano to kick off the encore set, with Keifer and his wife Savannah leading the audience through the start of “Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone).” Following a cover rendition of “Help” by The Beatles, Keifer wrapped up the stellar night of hits shortly before midnight with a lively performance of the ever-popular “Gypsy Road” from Cinderella’s Long Cold Winter (1988) album.

Tom keifer announces spring/summer 2023 tour with winger and john corabi.

will tom keifer tour in 2023

CINDERELLA frontman Tom Keifer and his #keiferband will embark on a U.S. tour this spring and summer. Support on most of the dates on the trek will come from WINGER and former MÖTLEY CRÜE singer John Corabi .

Last month, Tom released the official music video for the song "A Different Light" . The track is taken from Tom 's critically acclaimed solo debut album, "The Way Life Goes" , which is celebrating its tenth anniversary.

The new video, produced and edited by Joshua Smith will embark on a U.S. tour this spring and summer. Support on most of the dates on the trek will come from nt tour in 2022. Opening in somber black-and-white profiles of suffering souls, Keifer 's sultry vocals reflect the troubles of those in despair as shimmering instrumental vibrations build into an iconic key change. Within the first minute, the viewer is graced with an exalted perspective and a fully technicolor-changed world. The anthem and video wind between contemplative compassion and explosive enthusiasm, ultimately landing on a perspective of hope and an array of smiles where "everybody shines."

Watch TOM KEIFER Perform CINDERELLA Classics In Glenside, Pennsylvania During 'Live/Loud' 2023 Tour

Fan-filmed video of CINDERELLA frontman Tom Keifer 's entire June 30 solo concert at Keswick Theatre in Glenside, Pennsylvania can be seen below.

In a recent interview with the WHMH FM Rockin' 101 radio station, Keifer , who is currently on the road with his solo band, #KEIFERBAND , was asked how the touring aspect of the music industry has changed in the 40 years since he formed the veteran rock act. He responded: "People ask me that a lot, and, of course, the music industry has changed, but from a touring standpoint, it hasn't much. We get the band on the bus and we head out and we do shows, and from that standpoint, it feels very much the same."

He continued: "I feel incredibly grateful to be able to still go out and have all the fans turn out; they sing all the songs. Touring is my favorite part of the business anyway — playing live and getting that kind of in-the-moment reaction and exchange with the crowd. So that part hasn't changed as much as other parts of the industry. And fortunately, that's always been my favorite part, so…"

Last month, #KEIFERBAND launched the "Live/Loud" 2023 tour with WINGER and John Corabi .

#KEIFERBAND — which is rounded out by Savannah Keifer , Tony Higbee , Billy Mercer , Kendra Chantelle , Jarred Pope and Kory Myers — has released two critically acclaimed solo albums so far, 2013's "The Way Life Goes" and 2019's "Rise" .

During an appearance on a recent episode of SiriusXM 's "Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk" , Tom was asked if he has commenced work on the follow-up to "Rise" . He responded: "I haven't recorded anything [new]. Some song ideas are starting to bubble.

"The pandemic kind of threw a wrench in everything, obviously," he explained. "We were in the middle of working 'Rise' ; we were on the second single, 'Hype' , and were about to go out on that 'Big Rock Summer Tour' [with RATT , SKID ROW and SLAUGHTER ]. And 'Hype' was kind of moving up the charts, and then everything got shut down. All the creative juices, all the energy during that couple of years just kind of… I know some people got creative; some people didn't. I didn't. [ Laughs ] So, it's starting to come back now. I think getting back out on the road last year kind of ignited that spark again. But, yeah, we definitely wanna do a follow-up to it.

"I would say records come in their time; I don't like to rush them," Keifer added. "But, yeah, there will for sure be a follow-up. And that antenna is starting to go up and song ideas are starting to kind of come in. Yeah, it's coming."

According to Tom , the pandemic-related break from touring came just at the right time. "I kind of needed it," he said. "We toured so much with this band leading right up to the last tour, right before the pandemic. We were actually out early that year, in 2020, 'cause the 'Rise' tour was still kind of continuing; we were still working the record. So it was 10 years straight for me — or not quite 10 years at that point. But there were three CINDERELLA tours prior to that. So I'd been on the road, like, 12 years straight. So I was crispy by the time that pandemic hit. None of us wanted that forced on us, obviously, but I guess it forced me to take a break, which I probably needed."

Although CINDERELLA hasn't released a new studio album since 1994's "Still Climbing" , the band started playing sporadic shows again in 2010 but has been largely inactive for the last few years while Keifer focused on his solo career.

In March 2022, Keifer said that he was "not prepared" for the 2021 passing of CINDERELLA guitarist Jeff LaBar . Jeff was found dead by his wife in July 2021 inside his apartment in Nashville. He was 58 years old.

TONIGHT! It’s Tom Keifer, Winger, and John Corabi! Tom’s “Coming Home” and we are ready. The show starts at 8pm, and doors are at 7pm. Grab tickets and join the party! 🤘🏻 Posted by The Keswick Theatre on  Friday, June 30, 2023

Live/Loud Tour with Tom Keifer, Winger, and John Corabi – Pittsburgh, PA – 7/1/2023

In epic follow-up to last year’s Sonic Slam Tour , Tom Keifer ( Cinderella ) returned to Pittsburgh on the Live/Loud   Tour with Winger and a solo performance from John Corabi ( The Dead Daisies, Motley Crue, Union, The Scream ) for a night of hits at the Carnegie Library of Homestead Music Hall.

Originally booked for the new Mountain View Amphitheater venue in Cheswick, PA, the tour was rerouted to the historic library venue after pollutants from Canadian wildfires and storm predictions surfaced earlier in the week.  The venue change certainly shook things up as fans were required to either upgrade and choose reserved seats in advance, or keep their general admission tickets and head to the balcony of the concert hall.

Built in 1898, the Carnegie Library of Homestead is the oldest Carnegie library in continuous operation in its original structure in the US, offering concertgoers a unique experience as it houses a full-service athletic facility and grand concert hall. Just blocks from the city’s Waterfront shopping and dining complex and a few miles from Pittsburgh’s Kennywood park, the venue has hosted the likes of Foreigner and even The Cult .

John Corabi was the first to take the stage with just a microphone, guitar, and a stool. He was tasked with warming up the audience before the full ensembles of Winger and Tom Keifer band took the stage. Known for his time fronting Motley Crue and for taking the title of both the former and current singer of The Dead Daisies , John delivered a set of favorites that covered his career dating back to the band The Scream .

Highlights of his set included an emotional “If I Never Get to Say Goodbye,” from his 2012 Unplugged album, as well as Union’s “Love (I Don’t Need It Anymore)” and the songs that required nothing short of enthusiastic crowd participation, Motley’s “Hooligan’s Holiday” and “Dead and Gone” from The Dead Daisies 2018 release Burn It Down.

Following this run, John Corabi can be found touring the US and Canada with The Dead Daisies starting out east on August 22 in Lititz, PA at Mickey’s Black Box.

In support of the band’s new album Seven , Winger  continues with an epic run of shows here in the US before heading to Japan and Australia.  The band is tighter than ever, and their performance was larger than life on the historic stage in guitarist Reb Beach’s home town.

Unlike many band who are revolving doors of hired and original members, Winger’s original line-up of Kip Winger, Reb Beach, Paul Taylor, Rod Morgenstein, and John Roth remains intact.  In the case of this performance, John Roth was replaced by regular sub Howie Simon due to conflicting dates with Mickey Thomas’  Starship .

While the mid-bill time slot didn’t allow time for the band’s famous medley, frontman Kip Winger reminded us of the band’s rich history, including how he and Paul Taylor got their start writing together as members of the Alice Cooper band. And, I personally couldn’t help recall that last time I saw Reb Beach join Rod Morgenstein on this very stage to jam with his band The Dixie Dregs !

While for most,  Winger  fandom dates back 25 years to the band’s self-titled debut album that brought us hits like “Seventeen” and “Madalaine,” from the looks of the young female crowd in the front row, it appears that the band’s audience is still growing. How could it not, as they continue to impress with killer new singles like “Proud Desperado” and “Stick the Knife in and Twist”?!

It is hard to believe that Tom Keifer and the #keiferband are celebrating the tenth anniversary of their debut album, The Way Life Goes . With a decade behind them now, the band’s set included opener “Life Was Here,” “Death of Me,” and “Solid Ground.”

During a sixteen song set that focused heavily on Tom’s former band Cinderella’s classic hits, there was a brief pause for a tear-jerking and powerful cover of The Beatles classic “With A Little Help From My Friends.”  During the intro to the song, the frontman noted accurately that he barely talks, in fact, Cinderella drummer, Fred Coury was often the voice of the band during our sit-down interviews over the years. Fred was even joined once by the late Jeff LaBarr and bassist Eric Brittingham, but never Tom as he just loves to play rock ‘n roll…

Always feeding off the love and energy of his fans during his performances, Tom took the opportunity to thank everyone for always being there to sing his lyrics back to him as he voiced his thoughts on what it means to be a friend. He delivered the lyrics written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon with the same heartfelt passion as he did with his own words from “Nobody’s Fool,” (the one that usually brings him to his knees) and “Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone),” which has turned into an awesome piano duet with his his wife Savannah (and a little guitar support from Tony Higbee).

That passion behind the music is what personally keeps me coming back for more, from the emotion in his face to the sweat dripping into the crowd, Tom Keifer is a frontman like no other, and when you add in the slide guitar from Higbee, the thunder from Jarred, the bluesy keyboards from Kory, the smooth bass groove from Billy, and the fullness of the sound with additional vocals and even a third guitar from Craig Bradford, it is a truly something special.

With two critically acclaimed solo albums, the previously mentioned  The Way Life Goes  and it’s follow-up  Rise,  #keiferband is Tom Keifer, Tony Higbee (guitar), Billy Mercer (bass), Jarred Pope (drums), Kory Myers (keyboards), Savannah Keifer and Tanya Davis (vocals and percussion). Don’t miss them on the road as the Live/Loud tour continues this summer, and on a sprinkling of solo dates and festival performances with other artists like Vixen and L.A. Guns.

2024 March Madness TV schedule, announcers: How to watch NCAA Tournament, tipoff times, TV channels, bracket

The complete television and streaming schedule for how to watch march madness 2024.

usatsi-20244677-1.jpg

The 2024 NCAA Tournament has begun with the opening day of first-round action in the books. What was once a 68-team field has been whittled down to 48 with 16 more teams set to be eliminated Friday as the first round wraps up at five site sacross the nation.

The Big Dance continues Friday at 12:15 ET on CBS as No. 9 seed Northwestern seeks to take down last season's Cinderella favorite, No. 8 seed FAU. As usual, in addition to CBS, this men's NCAA Tournament will air on three other networks (TBS, TNT and truTV). Each station will air four games on Friday.

One major change this year: A new voice of the Final Four. Veteran ace announcer Ian Eagle steps in as the lead play-by-play announcer, replacing the legend, Jim Nantz, who stepped away in 2023. Eagle will be alongside mainstays Bill Raftery, Grant Hill and reporter Tracy Wolfson on CBS' and TBS' top announcing team.

A longtime staple of NCAA Tournament coverage, Eagle will not be alone as someone stepping into a new role on the team. Former Purdue star Robbie Hummel joins the NCAA Tournament broadcast squad for the first time as an analyst across first- and second-round action.

CBS and TBS lead the way televising 21 games apiece during the NCAA Tournament, while truTV and TNT are carrying 13 and 12, respectively. In addition to the March Madness Live app , where you can watch every game,  Paramount+ subscribers will be able to watch all the games televised by CBS, while subscribers to Max's B/R Sports Add-On can catch the remainder of the games.

From the Selection Show all the way until the playing of "One Shining Moment" after a champion is crowned, CBS Sports and TNT Sports will be bringing you the magic.

Let's take a look at the 2024 March Madness announcing teams as well as the complete schedule for the 2024 NCAA Tournament.
