Con Lan is the largest of the four dunes on the Tien River, a green island with year-round orchards of many sweet fruits. Besides, coming to Con Son, visitors have the opportunity to explore honey-bee farms and coconut candy workshops of local people.

Loose, free-flowing clothing is preferred given we will be visiting local communities. Knees and shoulders should be covered at all times.

Once we all jump aboard our own private vehicle and depart for the mighty Mekong River! This journey will take around three hours and will give you a chance to learn all about the course of the river and how it arrives in Vietnam from its origins in the snowy mountains of Tibet. You’ll also get to gaze at the spectacular surrounding scenery as we drive through the wonderfully fertile region. Take the chance to glimpse at the local way of life as we pass through one of the county’s agricultural hotspots.

Discover Cai Be & Local Vietnamese Culture

Once we arrive at Cai Be, we’ll board our private sampan (a traditional, motorized boat) to begin our unforgettable cruise along the Mekong River. This is an unmissable chance to get an insight into trading away from tourist focused markets of the city. Expect to be dazzled by an array of colours, smells and sounds. Keep your camera to hand to snap some beautiful shots!

Rowing Sampan & Guided Bike Ride

After the floating market, we’ll change to the rowing boats and go into the smaller, secluded canals of the delta. Here we can get up close and be a part of the daily life of local people and farmers. Next up, we get back on dry land while we visit Tan Phong island. After a quick stop-off at a tasty fruit orchard, we will experience the enchanting music of South-West Vietnam as we enjoy a local performance. We’ll also take a guided bicycle tour of this marvellous island. Along the way, we will visit local families and learn how they use the land to craft everything from delicate rice paper to the sturdy roofs of their homes. The families will treat us to Mekong delicacies for lunch which include freshly made spring rolls, fried pumpkin flower and beautiful braised pork soaked in coconut juice.

Explore More Of The Delta By Sampan

After our special Mekong lunch, we’ll transfer back to our boat to see the handicraft of local merchants preparing coconut candy and pop-rice. Finally our last stop before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City is at the Cao Dai temple where we’ll learn the history of an ancient native religion all while being surrounded by the incredible art of the temple.

The tour was very well organized, and the guide spoke very good English. We got to see and experience so many things: Besides visiting a pagoda and Buddha statue, we also went on a boat ride (with a stop to enjoy a coconut drink) and visited local businesses producing rice paper, conical hats and mats. We had fresh fruit and tea for a snack and Pho soup for lunch which was delicious! We had such a good day and would highly recommend this tour!

We went on this tour, two families of four, with children aged 9-12 years old. We were really happy with it and highly recommend. Lin was our guide and she was fantastic, would really do a trip with her again. It was nice to do this privately and easy to adjust with Lin if needed. Arkady in Veliky Novgorod was a very good guide and answered all of our questions with ease. Novgorod was perhaps a long way to go for a day trip, but we did enjoy it. Vasily was a great driver to have and kept us safe with good humour and skill. We enjoyed ourselves so much, my daughter says she is already planning to return. Just wanted to let you know that My grandson Bruno and I couldn´t have been more pleased with our week in Moscow (6/15 - 6/21). We were absolutely enchanted with the whole experience, including getting lost a couple of times in the Metro during our free time. Although both our guides (both Eleanas) were excellent, I would particularly commend the first one (she took us to the Tatiakov, the KGB tour, and to that beautiful cemetery where so many great Russian artists, authors, composers, musicians, militarists, and politicians are buried). Her knowledge is encyclopedic; and her understanding of today´s Russia as a product of its past was, for us, truly enlightening. I will be taking another tour in Russia, with my wife, within the next two or three years. I will be in touch with you when the time comes. Do they speak English in Moscow?

As Russia’s capital city, tourists are well accommodated in Moscow. There should be English-speaking staff in restaurants, bars, hotels, shops and attractions in tourist hotspots, and there are also English-speaking tourist police. Transport services have English translations on their maps and English announcements via intercom; alternatively, order taxis from the Yandex Taxi app (Russian Uber), though it’s unlikely that your taxi driver will speak English. If you get stuck and cannot communicate, it’s fine to use Google Translate.

Is it safe to travel to Moscow?

It is no less safe to travel to Moscow than to any European city if you exercise common sense and look after your belongings. As with every city some regions can be more unsavoury than others, but no tourist attractions are located there. The traffic in Moscow is notorious, so exercise caution when crossing roads. Do not take unlicensed taxis; book in advance or take public transport, which is widespread and perfectly safe. If you encounter any problems, look for the special tourist police who can help you.
