UAE Team Emirates rider Adam Yates won the seventh and final stage while world champion Remco Evenepoel of Soudal-QuickStep sealed overall victory in the UAE Tour at Jebel Hafeet on Sunday.

Stage 7: 1. Adam Yates (GBR) UAE Team Emirates – 3hrs 29min 42ses 2. Remco Evenepoel (BEL) Soudal Quick-Step – 10sec 3. Geoffrey Bouchard (FRA) AG2R Citroen Team – 42sec General Classification: 1. Remco Evenepoel (BEL) Soudal Quick-Step 2. Lucas Plapp (AUS) Ineos Grenaders – 59se 3. Adam Yates (GBR) UAE Team Emirates –60sec Red Jersey (General Classification): Remco Evenepoel (BEL) Soudal Quick-Step Green Jersey (Points Classification): Tim Merlier (BEL) Soudal Quick-Step White Jersey (Young Rider Classification): Remco Evenepoel (BEL) Soudal Quick-Step Black Jersey (Intermediate Sprint Classification): Edward Planckaert (FRA) Alpecin-Deceuninck

Yates began his onslaught at the six-kilometre marker, pursued by Evenepoel and Jumbo-Visma’s Sepp Kuss.

Soudal-QuickStep's Belgian rider picked up the pace to cut down a 15-second lead by five seconds to take second spot behind Yates and clinch the fifth edition of the UAE Tour, the only World Tour race in the Middle East.

Pello Bilbao of Bahrain Victorious and Ineos Grenaders rider Luke Plapp crossed the line 54 seconds behind.

That was enough for Plapp to hold on to second spot overall, 59 seconds behind Evenepoel. Yates's stage win with the bonus points moved him above Bilbao to third place.

“The tactic was to go full gas at the bottom,” Yates said. "We had nothing to lose. I was so far down on the GC after the crosswind stage, we just had to go all out from the bottom and see what happened.

“The guys did an amazing job. I attacked quite early but I knew I had to push really hard to drop the guys. And finally, I managed to do it. I want to say a big thank you to my team.”

For Evenepoel, overall victory at the UAE Tour marked his first win as world champion and marks an important milestone on his way to the Giro d'Italia in May.

“It’s the first race I came to try to do a good GC,” he said. “I haven’t gone to altitude yet, I’ll go in a few days, so I can only improve. But I can be really happy and proud with the shape I have now.

“It was hard out there. I thought Yates was going to stay on my wheel and then jump in the last few hundred metres, and I would have been happy with that. But in the end I had to go over the limit to keep up with him.

“I was happy I could always see him in front of me, so I knew the overall victory was mine.

“I am really happy with this overall victory - I was there every day and on the two mountain stages I finished in second place. As a team we can be very proud. We're going home with three stage wins and the Red Jersey - and this is my first race victory as the world champion.”

Riders to watch at Paris-Roubaix 2024

Men's race - 2024 riders to watch.

  • Mathieu van der Poel (NED/Alpecin Deceuninck): Can anyone beat the defending champion in his current shape? Fresh off his third Tour of Flanders title, there is no doubt that the Dutch superstar is the man to beat at the Paris-Roubaix 2024. If van der Poel manages to win "The Hell of the North" for the second time in his career, he will be in joint 10th place for most cycling Monument wins in history with six victories.
  • Jasper Philipsen (BEL/Alpecin Deceuninck): Van der Poel's Belgian teammate is one of the fastest sprinters on the planet. He proved that by winning the points classification at the Tour de France and more recently, the 'sprinter's classic' Milano-Sanremo last month. Philipsen was the runner-up in 2023 and knows how to ride the cobblestones in Northern France.
  • Mads Pedersen (DEN/Lidl-Trek): The Dane beat van der Poel at the Gent-Wevelgem in a two-man sprint finish and by that showed that the big favourite is beatable. Pedersen was one of the victims of a mass crash during the Dwars door Vlaanderen last week, but the 2019 road race world champion seems to have recovered, as he tried to anticipate van der Poel in the Tour of Flanders with an early attack. Unfortunately for the Lidl-Trek rider, he ran out of juice and finished the race in 22nd place.
  • Nils Politt (GER/UAE Team Emirates): The UAE Team Emirates rode a solid Tour of Flanders and used their numbers to get Politt on the podium - and three riders in the top five. In 2019, the German finished second behind Philippe Gilbert. He will be eager to improve that result.

Women's race - 2024 riders to watch

  • Alison Jackson (CAN/EF Education-Cannondale): It was a big suprise when the Canadian upset the stars of the women's peloton last year and claimed the biggest victory of her career. The reigning champion has struggled to find her form from last spring, however, having a tenth place as her best result this season. Jackson will be an outsider for this year's race.
  • Lotte Kopecky (BEL/Team SD Worx-Protime): The road race world champion has started the year brilliantly by winning the UAE Tour overall, Strade Bianche Donne and Danilith Nokere Koerse. In Sunday's Tour of Flanders, the Belgian was suffering on the cobbled climbs and missed out on the podium spots. Nevertheless, Kopecky has previously taken a second place in Paris-Roubaix and is one of top contenders.
  • Elisa Longo Borghini (ITA/Lidl-Trek): The 2022 winner of Paris-Roubaix was back on the top step of the podium in the 2024 Tour of Flanders. Consistency is what characterises the 32-year-old Italian cyclist who always features in the final of the big one-day races.
  • Marianne Vos (NED/Team Visma|Lease a Bike): The 36-year-old cycling veteran added a 250th professional win to her palmares as she clinched the Dwars door Vlaanderen last week. Paris-Roubaix is still missing on her impressive list of victories though and the two-time Olympic champion can cement herself as one of the greatest of all time if she wins the prestigious cobbled classic.

Eid-ul-Fitr 2024 moon sighting date in Saudi Arabia, India: When is chand raat, Eid in Saudi, UAE, India, Pakistan, US

Eid-ul-fitr 2024 moon sighting date: here's when is chand raat and ramadan eid in saudi arabia, uae, india, pakistan, us, uk and other countries this year.

For a whole month, Muslims across the world have been juggling professional and personal chores in the day while seeking forgiveness both from Allah and from those we may have wronged in the quiet of Ramadan with night prayers, breaking bad habits and mending broken relationships as it is not just a month of fasting from dawn to dusk and abstaining from food and drink but also about nourishing the soul with prayer, reflection, charity, universal brotherhood and acts of kindness with Eid -ul-Fitr crowning this journey of transformation. As Ramadan 2024 wraps up, Muslims are gearing to spot the Shawwal crescent moon which will mark the date of Eid-ul-Fitr 2024 and the start of a new month in the Islamic lunar calendar.

Eid-ul-Fitr 2024 moon sighting date in Saudi Arabia, India: When is chand raat, Eid in Saudi, UAE, India, Pakistan, US (Photo by Creative Market)

Eid al-Fitr, which is popularly known as Eid or Ramadan Eid, marks the end of the sacred month of Ramadan where Muslims fast from dawn to dusk and recite the Holy Quran and offers prayers to Allah. While the West culturally follows the Gregorian calendar, the Islamic calendar is lunar which means it is based on the sighting of the crescent moon hence, every year, Eid-ul-Fitr occurs approximately 10-11 days earlier depending on when the crescent moon is sighted because lunar months are shorter than solar months and so it varies from country to country by about a day.

Chand Raat is a term used in South Asian cultures, particularly in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, to refer to the night before Eid-ul-Fitr or Eid al-Adha where " chand " means moon and " raat " means night in Urdu, so the term refers to the night when the Muslims sight the crescent or new moon, signaling the end of the month of Ramadan or the month of Zul-Hijjah. It is a festive night where people go out shopping for new clothes, bangles and other items to wear on the day of Eid as the markets are usually bustling with activity and people celebrate by eating sweets, exchanging gifts and greeting each other with Eid Mubarak (Blessed Eid) as this important cultural event marks the end of a period of fasting and is a time of celebration with loved ones.

The festive night of chand raat is followed by Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations in the morning, which is a major religious holiday celebrated by Muslims all over the world as it marks the end of the month-long fasting period of Ramadan, during which Muslims abstain from food and drink from sunrise to sunset hence, Eid-ul-Fitr is also known as the “Festival of Breaking the Fast.” The ninth month in the Islamic Lunar Calendar is Ramadan and the tenth is Shawwal whose first day is marked as Eid-ul-Fitr across the world.

Since the Middle East, USA, UK, Canada etc started fasting on March 11, 2024, the Supreme Court in Saudi Arabia has called on all Muslims throughout the Kingdom to sight the new crescent moon on the evening of Monday, Ramadan 29, 1445 Hijri, corresponding to April 8, 2024, that will mark the end of Ramadan and the onset of the month of Shawwal. If the Shawwal crescent moon is sighted by Muslims in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Turkey, Iran, United Kingdom and other countries in the Middle East and West on April 8 evening, after breaking the Ramadan fast at maghrib or evening payers, chand raat there will be on Monday, April 8 and the day of Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated the next day i.e. on April 09, 2024 but if the Shawwal crescent is not sighted on Monday evening, chand raat in these countries will be on Tuesday, April 09 while Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, indicating that Muslims may observe a 30-day fast this Ramadan instead of 29 days.

The buzz of chand raat is in the air as this is the time of celebration when families and friends gather on the terrace of their homes or courtyards or parks or any open places at the end of the last day of Ramadan to spot the crescent moon and Indian Muslims along with those in other South Asian countries will gear up to sight the crescent moon on Tuesday i.e. April 09, 2024, after breaking the Ramadan fast at maghrib or evening payers and if the Shawwal crescent moon is sighted, chand raat will be on Tuesday night, which will mark the onset of the Islamic month of Shawwal and the day of Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated the next day i.e. Wednesday April 10, 2023. Otherwise, Muslims in India and other South Asian countries will continue to fast on Wednesday and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Thursday i.e. April 11, 2023.

However, Pakistan’s Meteorological Department has said that the Shawwal moon is likely to be seen on April 9, 2024 in the region where the moon is expected to conjunct with the sun on April 8 at 11:21pm (local time). The media reports stated, “The Met Office forecast that in the southern regions of the country the sky will likely be clear, while the sky could be cloudy in the northern regions.” The possibility of 29-day Ramadan based on scientific findings in Pakistan is also backed by the country's Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman.

The final round of the Valero Texas Open promises drama in more ways than one. Not only will a champion be crowned on Sunday afternoon, but that player may also punch his ticket through the hallowed gates of Magnolia Lane.

One potential spot remains in the Masters field for a player who is not otherwise exempt, and 22-year-old Akshay Bhatia (-15) is hoping this is his time.

With a four-shot lead heading into the final round, Bhatia’s prospects look pretty good. But he’ll have to keep the pedal to the metal to stave off potential charges from his chasers, like Denny McCarthy (-11), Brendon Todd (-8) and Hideki Matsuyama (-7).

In addition to a potential major berth, there’s also plenty of dough up for grabs this week. A $9.2 million purse offers a seven-figure payout to both the winner and runner-up, with six-figure payouts trickling all the way down to 22nd place.

Who will come away with the title? That remains unknown, but one thing’s for sure: It’s a good week to be in the hunt!

Paris-Roubaix 2024: How to Watch a UCI World Tour Cycling Livestream for Free

The world's best riders take on the Queen of the Classics.

uae tour 2023 in tv

The UCI World Tour heads to the rugged roads of northern France this weekend for the 2024 edition of the Paris-Roubaix.

Widely regarded as the toughest one-day race on the road cycling calendar, Paris-Roubaix features some of the most grueling cobblestone stretches on any of the Spring Classics. The peloton's ordeal eventually concludes after almost 160 miles in the iconic velodrome in Roubaix.

Last year's event saw Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) claim victory in the men's race while Alison Jackson (EF Education-Cannondale) was the 2023 women's race winner.

Below, we'll outline the best  live TV streaming services  to use to watch the Paris-Roubaix live wherever you are in the world.

Max Walscheid of Germany and Team Cofidis riding along a cobbled stretch, while spectators behind a barrier with flags cheer on from the sides at the 2023 Max Walscheid of Germany and Team Cofidis race.

The 256.6km one-day race is known as "The Hell of the North," and these cobblestones might give you a clue as to why.

Paris-Roubaix 2024: Where and when is it?

The 2024 Paris Roubaix Femmes takes place on Saturday, April 6, at 1:35 p.m. CET local time, making it a 7:35 a.m. ET or 4:35 a.m. PT start in the US . For viewers in the UK it's a 12:35 p.m. BST start , while in Australia the action begins at 9:35 p.m. AEST .

The Men's race meanwhile starts on Sunday, April 7 at 11:10 a.m. CET local time, which is 5:10 a.m. ET or 2:10 a.m. PT in the US, 10:10 a.m. BST in the UK and 7:10 p.m. in Australia.

How to watch the Paris-Roubaix 2024 online from anywhere using a VPN

If you find yourself unable to view the race locally, you may need a different way to watch -- that's where using a VPN can come in handy. A VPN is also the best way to stop your ISP from throttling your speeds by encrypting your traffic, and it's also a great idea if you're traveling and find yourself connected to a Wi-Fi network, and you want to add an extra layer of privacy for your devices and logins.

With a VPN, you're able to virtually change your location on your phone, tablet or laptop to get access to what you want to watch. If your internet provider or mobile carrier has stuck you with an IP address that incorrectly shows your location in a blackout zone, a VPN can correct that problem by giving you an IP address in your correct, non-blackout area. Most VPNs, like our  Editors' Choice, ExpressVPN , make it really easy to do this.

Using a VPN to watch or stream sports is legal in any country where VPNs are legal, including the US, UK and Canada, as long as you have a legitimate subscription to the service you're streaming. You should be sure your VPN is set up correctly to prevent leaks: Even where VPNs are legal, the streaming service may terminate the account of anyone it deems to be circumventing correctly applied blackout restrictions.

Quick tips for streaming Paris-Roubaix 2024 using a VPN

  • With four variables at play -- your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN -- your experience and success when streaming the 2024 Paris-Roubaix live may vary.
  • If you don't see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the "search for city or country" option.
  • If you're having trouble after you've turned on your VPN and set it to the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs -- like Roku -- don't have VPN apps you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you'll have to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you're using (like your phone) so that any device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct viewing location.
  • All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their main site for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after you install a cable network's sports app, you'll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help, since both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
  • And remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so be sure you're using a privacy-first browser to log into your services. We normally recommend  Brave .

Fast and furious

Luca Brecel has opened up about his car towing hell.

The former world snooker champion teamed up with Reanna Evans to beat Mark Selby and Rebecca Kenna 4-2 to win the World Mixed Doubles final on Sunday.

But that day started off in nightmare fashion after his car was towed.

Brecel  told ITV: “I parked my car in the wrong place and it got taken away, so I had to go and get it just before the final and then just about made it back in time.

“Crazy story. But luckily, I made it in time.”

The Belgian is known for his lavish car collection and often buys himself a luxury car as a treat.

Mark Allen beat John Higgins 10-7 to reach the second round last night.

Here's what he had to say: "I was hanging in there at the start. He froze me out, but to get out of the earlier session at 4-4 I was happy about.

"It is fine margins in these matches. I won three frames on the black and I also won a frame with John touching a ball with his sleeve so it could have been a very different scoreline."

Comeback King

Mark Allen has had his say on the win against John Higgins after being 4-1 down in the first session.

Allen saidL "I was hanging in there a bit at the start. But to get out of that session at 4-4, I was really happy.

"Look it is fine margins in these matches. I won three frames on black balls and one with John touching a ball with his sleeve, which doesn't happen very often."

"I think John is being a bit hard on himself. He is not playing bad snooker."

Allen wins 10-7

A third century of the contest for Allen at the perfect time.

He has 4-1 down but fought back to book his place in the last eight.

Allen faces Ding Junhui in the next round.

Allen 8-7 Higgins

Higgins needed a big frame and he delivers with an 89 break to go back within one.

Allen then steps up and pots the pink and black to take the frame.

Allen 7-6 Higgins

A fabulous 102 break from Allen to secure the 13th frame.

Allen 6-6 Higgins

Higgins, 48, rolls back the years with a fantastic break of 62.

No way back for Allen.

Allen 6-5 Higgins

Both players miss chances on the black.

Allen punishes a mis-fired safety shot from Higgins and it is the second time he has won a frame with both on the black.

Allen 5-5 Higgins

Back to all-square as Higgins finds 82 at a crucial point of the frame.

Two more frames before the mid-session break.

United Arab Emirates, 18 January 2023 – The official route, jerseys and sponsors for the fifth edition of the UAE Tour have been announced. The UAE Tour race organisers, Abu Dhabi Sports Council are pleased to confirm that this year’s edition of the race, starting and finishing in Abu Dhabi, will feature four sprinters’ stages, two mountain stages best suited to the peloton’s climbers and a 17.2 km long, high-speed team time trial.

This year, the UAE Tour will feature over 1028 km of racing across the seven stages. From 20 to 26 February, riders will cross the diverse range of landscapes within the region, the race will feature a significant elevation gain of 3500m, almost all of which is concentrated in Stages 3 and 7. Two summit finishes feature in the 2023 UAE Tour, one at Jebel Jais, where previous stage winners include Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard, both of whom have previously earned the coveted Tour de France yellow jersey, and Jebel Hafeet, an epic climb that has seen three stage victories for Pogacar in the last three editions of the tour.

Now in its fifth edition, this year’s tour follows the inaugural UAE Tour Women, the first-ever female WorldTour race in the Middle East. The newest addition to the WorldTour calendar marks an important step in the region’s development of the sport and showcases its commitment to the growth of cycling.

Full stage descriptions and sponsors for the 2023 UAE Tour are listed below.

Stage 1: Al Dhafra Castle – Al Mirfa (151 KM) The stage of the desert. Starting from Al Dhafra Castle in the desert, the route reaches Madinat Zayed along wide and straight roads. After the city it crosses the desert again for over 60 km, heading toward the coast pointing directly towards Al Mirfa. Here is where the route enters the final circuit of about 18 km, to be repeated once.

Last kms The final circuit is on a wide well-paved road and features some turnarounds on large roundabouts and a short climb immediately after the passages on the finish line. The finish line is on asphalt 8m wide.

Stage 2: Khalifa Port – Khalifa Port TTT (17.2 KM) Stage 2 is a Team Time Trial that takes place entirely inside Khalifa Port. The route is very fast and is characterized only by a few right angle bends and two U-turns. The road is perfectly flat, wide and with wide-ranging turns, which will allow riders to hold very high speeds (wind permitting).

Last kms Wide curves, wide road, excellent pavement. The finish line is on asphalt

Stage 3: Umbrella Beach Al Fujairah – Jebel Jais (185 KM) The first of two mountain stages of the UAE Tour. The stage is divided into two distinct parts. The first approaches the final mountain undulating through the desert, while the last is characterized by approximately 20 km of continuous climbing up to the finish. Departing from Fujairah and crossing the desert areas on the edge of the Hajar mountains, it then heads towards Ras-al-Khaimah, whose capital is not crossed by the ride. The stage then heads directly towards Jais Mountain. The final climb of approximately 20 km at constant 5% gradient, with slightly higher gradients around 7% in the last 2 km.

Last kms The final climb winds through hairpin bends on a very wide roadway. Gradients are mainly around 4-5% in the first part and 5-7% in the second, with a peak of 9% around 2 km from the finish. The finish is on straight asphalt roads.

Stage 4: Al Shindagha – Dubai Harbour (174 KM) A stage in Dubai. Departing from Shindagha, the first part of the stage is on the edge of the city before entering the desert and touching on classic stopover locations such as Al Qudra Cycle track and Expo City Dubai. It then arrives at the Palm Jumeirah, on Crescent Rd, before returning to the base of the Palm and Dubai Harbour. The entire route winds along very wide, and substantially straight, roads interspersed with roundabouts that have a very large radius and are well paved.

Last kms The ending is on a wide avenue, with the arrival to the finish line on asphalt.

Stage 5: Al Marjan Island – Umm al Quwain (182 KM) Departing from Marjan Island to reach Ras al Khaimah, the stage heads through the desert southwards with some deviations from the motorway. Here it covers several stretches of motorway until reaching Umm al Quwain for the final sprint. The entire route takes place on wide, straight and well-paved roads through the desert.

Last kms The final km is on a wide avenue that is slightly curved. The arrival to the finish line is on asphalt.

Stage 6: Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi – Abu Dhabi Breakwater (166 KM) Stage around the city of Abu Dhabi. Departing from Warner Bros Island in Yas Island, the first part of the stage heads north. Continuing towards Khalifa Port it then returns south and heads back to the town through Khalifa City. Returning to Abu Dhabi via the highway and via Maqta Bridge, brushing past the Grand Mosque until reaching Al Khaleej Al Arabi St. Here the substantially straight road, lasting 15 km, leads to the Abu Dhabi Breakwater for a sprint finish.

Last kms The last 5 km are on a wide road with large semi-curves that lead to the finish line on asphalt.

Stage 7: Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium – Jebel Hafeet (153 KM) The classic mountain stage of the UAE Tour. In the first part, the traditional long ride in the desert north of the city is covered. The route then winds through Al Ain, where many symbolic landmarks are touched (Al Ain Zoo, Al Qattara, Al Hili) until it returns to Green Mubazzarah. Here the final climb of Jebel Hafeet begins, which with its 10 km section will be the final judge of the race.

Last kms The final climb winds through wide-ranging hairpin bends on a 3-lane roadway. Gradients are mainly around 8-9% with a peak of 11%, 3 km from the finish. There is a very short descent in the last km, before the last ramp. The finish line is on straight asphalt.

We are excited to sponsor the White Jersey for the fifth consecutive year, which builds on our commitment to build happiness and prosperity for our citizens, residents and visitors, by promoting health, fitness and welling as well as recognising talented young sportspeople. The UAE Tour allows participants to take in some of the most stunning scenic routes across each of the Emirates, including our very own Palm Jumeirah and Jumeirah Islands. We are excited to be supporting the team and working together as one to make the UAE Tour a success ”

Fabrizio d’Amico, RCS Sports and Events DMCC Chief Operating Officer said: First and foremost, we would like to express our gratitude to the leadership of the country, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and all of our stakeholders who have been committed to bringing the UAE Tour back to the Middle East for a fifth season.

“Seeing the world-class peloton back on the roads of such a glorious location is always a joy. Over the seven stages across the varied terrain that passes historical landmarks of the region, the race is shaped by four sprint stages, two climbing stages and a team trial providing riders with different characteristics the opportunity to win.

“This season also sees a great milestone reached, both within the sport and the country’s commitment to the development of cycling culture. We are excited to introduce the Women’s UAE Tour into the WorldTour calendar and look forward to watching it grow in popularity over the next few years.”

2024 women's NCAA Tournament Final Four dates, game times, TV, location, teams and more

The stars will be out on Friday night in the women's Final Four.

Iowa's Caitlin Clark , South Carolina's Kamilla Cardoso, UConn's Paige Bueckers and NC State's Aziaha James will all take the court in Cleveland with a trip to the national championship game on the line, and each has their own calling card as they enter the championship rounds.

Clark's story is well-documented at this point , but endlessly impressive nonetheless: She put together a Her-culean effort in Iowa's win over LSU in the Elite Eight, with a 41-point game (and a bit of revenge). Cardoso has been a force in the paint for the Gamecocks, and she'll look to take her game to the next level at the conclusion of the women's tournament.

J ames has exploded in the tournament , capping off brilliant performance after brilliant performance with a 7-for-9 night from 3-point land in the Wolfpack's win over Texas in the Elite Eight. Last, and certainly not least, Bueckers wants to cap off this UConn run with that elusive championship – but she plans to run it back with the Huskies next season should things go south between now and then.

FOLLOW THE MADNESS: NCAA basketball bracket, scores, schedules, teams and more.

However you cut it, the women's Final Four will be filled with excitement, drama and plenty of buckets. Here's what to know about the 2024 women's Final Four:

When is the women's Final Four?

  • Date: Friday, April 5
  • Start time: 7 p.m. ET (South Carolina vs. NC State); 9:30 p.m. ET (UConn vs. Iowa)

The women's Final Four is set for tip-off on Friday, April 5. The first game begins at 7 p.m. ET (6 p.m. CT), with the second matchup following at 9:30 p.m. ET, or after the conclusion of the first game.

What TV channel is the women's Final Four on?

ESPN will broadcast both games of the 2024 women's Final Four, with the doubleheader beginning at 7 p.m. ET on Friday night.

Where is the women's Final Four?

  • Location: Cleveland, Ohio
  • Venue: Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse

The semifinal games of the 2024 women's NCAA Tournament will take place at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio. The arena is home of the NBA's Cleveland Cavaliers and seats over 19,000 fans.

Women's Final Four bracket

Here's how the women's Final Four bracket shapes up entering the final weekend of the tourney:

  • (1) South Carolina vs. (3) North Carolina State
  • (1) Iowa vs. (3) UConn

Who is in the women's Final Four?

In one matchup, the South Carolina Gamecocks take on the North Carolina State Wolfpack in a battle of Carolina supremacy. South Carolina, led by 6-foot-7 senior Kamilla Cardoso, looks to keep its undefeated season rolling against the Wolfpack. Aziaha James has been on a tear in the tournament, last exploding for seven 3-pointers in NC State's win over the Longhorns.

In the other showdown, Caitlin Clark looks to keep her historic 2023-24 season alive when she and the Hawkeyes face off against Paige Bueckers and UConn in the semifinal. Clark put up a masterful performance in their regional final vs. LSU, scoring 41 points in 40 minutes and exacting revenge against the Tigers.

UAE Tour 2023 route

Route and course details, profiles and maps of the seven-day WorldTour stage race

The UAE Tour takes place from the 20th to 26th February and takes in 7 stages across the United Arab Emirates.

UAE Tour - Everything you need to know , including the route, favourites and outsiders for the WorldTour race.

Join Cyclingnews' coverage of the UAE Tour Women with race reports, results, photo galleries, news and race analysis.

Map of Stage 1 UAE Tour 2023

The 2023 UAE Tour begins as it did in 2021 from Al Dhafra Castle to Al Mirfa. It looks like a simple stage on paper with very few corners, but riders will have to be wary of crosswinds, especially on the open desert roads. This is where Lorena Wiebes took an emphatic victory ahead of her former lead-out rider Charlotte Kool in stage 2 of the inaugural UAE Tour Women last week. If the wind doesn't break the bunch into echelons, this should be a showdown of the peloton’s finest sprinters.

Map Stage 2 UAE Tour 2023

Stage 2 gives the teams a chance to show off the work they put in during the winter with a team time trial on a flat, wide and simple parcours. The stage starts and finishes in Khalifa Port and the only technical parts come with two 180° turns. The average speeds should be very high and the leader’s jersey will almost certainly be moving away from the sprinters, as the best-equipped teams for a time trial will be those containing general classification contenders. The 17.3km course will give teams who are most adept at the discipline an opportunity to create big gaps before the first mountain stage.

Map Stage 3 UAE Tour 2023

The GC riders will either be pleased with the previous day's performance or left wanting more, and the third stage from Umbrella Beach Al Fujairah to Jebel Jais gives them the chance to make amends. Jebel Jais is 19km in length but only has an average gradient of 5.6% which allows some heavier riders to stay with the pure climbers, with the steepest sections topping out at 9%. This has led to small group sprints at the top of the climb with the bonus seconds on the line becoming the most important gain. The last two winners up Jebel Jais were Tadej Pogačar and Jonas Vingegaard .

Jebel Jais at the UAE Tour

Stage 4 will have the fast men excited again and gives us an early look into which team’s lead-out trains are firing on all cylinders. It will be a long 173.9km day in the saddle from Al Shindagha to Dubai Harbour however, the riders might not have to fear the crosswinds as much as they did on stage 1. Expect a less exciting run-in with an equally explosive sprint finish.

Map Stage 5 UAE Tour 2023

Stage 5 offers a similar opportunity for the plethora of other top-tier sprinters who are still itching to get their hands in the air at the finish. The 170km route from Al Marjan Island to the new finishing location Umm al Quwain is largely on straight, flat roads so should be relatively straightforward for the lead-out trains to stay organised. The roundabouts in the final few hundred metres are the only potential problem.

Map Stage 6 UAE Tour 2023

Stage 6 from Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi to Abu Dhabi Breakwater is a finish we have seen before in the UAE, most recently in the UAE Tour women where Charlotte Kool slingshotted out of Lorena Wiebes’ slipstream to take her second victory of that race. The road veers to the left in the final few hundred metres, and Mark Cavendish used this feature in last year’s men’s race to legally cut off Danny van Poppel’s lead-out for Sam Bennett and hold off Jasper Philipsen for his first World Tour victory of that season. This is the last sprint shootout of the UAE Tour so there will be a considerable fight for positioning in the latter kilometres.

Map Stage 7 UAE Tour 2023

The final stage has become the classic mountain test of the UAE Tour, finishing on Jebel Hafeet after passing symbolic landmarks on the initial 143.4km. The 10km climb will be a defining point of the race and will be the last chance for those hopeful of winning the red jersey to make the difference. It will set the purest climbers apart from those who could survive on the less harsh gradients of Jebel Jais as its steepest sections are above 11% with the average closer to 7% making it hard enough for gaps to form. Despite this, there have been closely fought battles to the line on the last three occasions with Tadej Pogačar taking a hattrick of Jebel Hafeet stages in the process. We will likely see the best climbers at the race battle it out in a similar fashion but with Remco Evenepoel provisionally set to start the race, we could see someone arrive solo.
