Discovering the Marvels of Indochina: Exploring Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos
Embarking on Indochina Tours unveils a treasure trove of experiences that span the cultural diversity and captivating landscapes of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos. This voyage promises a multi-dimensional exploration that immerses travelers in the heart of Southeast Asia’s most enchanting destinations.
Vietnam: A Tapestry of Contrasts:
Indochina Tours kickstart in Vietnam, where contrasts are woven into the very fabric of its landscape and history. The bustling streets of Hanoi offer a glimpse into the nation’s storied past, while the timeless beauty of Halong Bay’s limestone formations presents a tranquil escape. The lantern-lit streets of Hoi An enchant with their preserved architecture, showcasing the country’s cultural wealth. Ho Chi Minh City pulses with modernity and vitality, revealing Vietnam’s remarkable evolution.
Hanoi Old Quarter
Cambodia: A Chronicle of Heritage and Resilience:
As Indochina Tours move into Cambodia, the magnificence of Angkor Wat takes center stage. These ancient temples, etched with intricate carvings, stand as monuments to a glorious past. Engaging with the bustling markets of Siem Reap and contemplating the somber history of Phnom Penh’s landmarks offers a multi-faceted Cambodian experience. Indochina Tours offer a deeper understanding of the nation’s resilience in the face of challenges.
Angkor Wat – Siem Reap
Laos: The Tranquil Sanctuary:
In Laos, a serene calm permeates the air, offering a respite from the bustling cities. Indochina Tours unveil the tranquil beauty of Luang Prabang, where saffron-robed monks walk along peaceful streets and ornate temples whisper stories of a spiritual legacy. The slow pace of life and the stunning landscapes surrounding Vang Vieng and Vientiane create a serene backdrop for contemplation.
Luang Prabang City
Cultural Fusion and Immersion:
Indochina Tours are not merely about sightseeing; they are a journey into the heart of these nations. Engaging with local communities, savoring authentic cuisines, and participating in traditional customs create bonds that bridge cultural divides. The warmth of the people amplifies the beauty of these destinations, enhancing the overall experience.
Indochina Tours offer an extraordinary tapestry that unites history, culture, and landscapes into a seamless narrative. From the ancient marvels of Angkor Wat to the vibrant streets of Hanoi, each destination adds a new layer to the story of this region. As you traverse Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, you’ll find yourself transformed by their allure, touched by their history, and inspired by their people. Indochina Tours are an exploration of contrasts, harmonies, and enriching experiences that will leave an indelible mark on your heart and soul.

Emergency Contact
Should you need to contact us during a situation of dire need, it is best to first call the travel consultant whom you deal with and then our hot line contact. If for any reason you do not receive an immediate answer, please send us a detailed message and contact information by email, so they may return your call and assist you as soon as possible. Our all travel consultants use WhatApps. Please ensure that you have the contact number. It's best to buy a local sim-card. Most hotels offer free wifi. So it's very easy to contact in urgent case.

If you book small group tour option, please note that the tour combines with our other tours. As such, the staff and/or particular vehicles operating your tour may change between tour segments. You may also expect some group members to join or leave the tour, between tour segments. You can start the tour on any date (please contact our consultant in advance to avoid peak dates or holidays) and customize itinerary with extra days/activities at any destination.
Private Tour
If you book private tour for your group, we will use private cars, different stationed guides at each location. For some long routes (or Halong/Mekong cruise package), private car would be not necessary, and very expensive (unless you are a big group). We would suggest join bus transfer where possible then.
Internal Flights
For all internal flights - if included, we would use any as Vietnamairlines, Vietjesair, Jestar, Cambodia Angkorair or Laos Airlines, depending on the itinerary. Most domestic flights in Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar, airlines would use small 70 seat ATR72 for short distances. Most airlines in Vietnam use the Airbus A321. 20kg for checkin luggage and 7kg for hand-bag is included in the price. International flights pre/post tour must be booked by your self before travelling date.
Please do not buy gems unless you know what you are doing. Even if genuine you should not expect to be able to sell them at home. If you fall victim to a gem scam, we are unable to assist you.
Train Travel
Train travel in Vietnam is very basic and not at western standard. Sleeper trains normally have 4 seats per compartment, which convert into sleeping bunks (two upper and two lower). A sheet, pillow and blanket are provided. At times, passengers of different genders may be required to share a sleeper train berth and/or share a compartment with people not travelling in your group. For short distance - 3 hours (as Hue to Danang or vv), you will do the trip on soft/hard seat carriage. Simple food is available on the train but many people like to stock up on freshly baked bread, cheese and fruit prior to departure. You should have meal and buy water before the journey. Train journeys in Vietnam are an experience and allow you to get a real taste of Vietnam.
Accommodation
We would use different hotel categories and you can select any basing on your budget. So your travel companions would not stay at the your hotel. A Hotel Voucher will be provided once your tour is confirmed with all hotel details. In case suggested hotels are full, we would use others of similar standard/price.
Note*: if you want other hotels instead of our suggested ones, please contact us for details.
Is there Wifi available in Vietnam hotel?
Yes, there is. Free wifi is available at all hotels in Vietnam. Most of the cafe, hotel, Shop, Restaurants in Vietnam also provide free wifi. Compare to other neighboring countries, Wifi access in Vietnam is so much convenient.
Airport transfers
All airport transfers are included in the tour price. You should provide us your arrival/departure flight details and we will arrange things basing on the information. A meeting sign with your name and all flight details will be sent to you. Please be ready at the lobby at pointed time for pickup. Driver/guide should always be present at the airport before your arrival time. If you could not find the driver, please contact your travel consultant who you deal with. For any reason that airport transfer could not be arranged, please take the taxi to the hotel. We will refund the money then.
Travel insurance
Travel insurance is not included in our tour price. When travelling with us, you are suggested to buy insurance that covers all medical coverage, cancellation, personal liability, curtailment and loss of luggage and personal effects.
Trip Specific Safety
We strongly recommend the use of a neck wallet or money belt while travelling, for the safe keeping of your passport, air tickets, travelers' cheques, cash and other valuable items. Leave your valuable jewelry at home - you won't need it while travelling. Many of the hotels we use have safety deposit boxes which is the most secure way of storing your valuables. A lock is recommended for securing your luggage. Be aware that petty theft can be an issue in some towns and cities especially late at night. A common tactic is opportunists on motorbikes that drive by and snatch bags. Please always leave valuables and passports etc in your hotel in safety boxes if available and only carry with you enough cash to spend for the day. Bags should always be carried over the neck and not left to sit on your shoulder.

It is customary in Asia to tip service providers such as waiters, at approximately 10%, depending on the service. Tipping is expected - though not compulsory - and shows an expression of satisfaction with the people who have assisted you on your tour. Although it may not be customary to you, it is of considerable significance to the people who will take care of you during your travels. There are several times during the trip where there is opportunity to tip the local guides or drivers we use. Recommendations for tipping drivers and local guides would range from $3-$5 USD per person per day depending on the quality and length of the service.
Electricity
Indochina Countries use 220V, and a mixture of flat 2-pin, round 2-pin or 3 pin plugs. It is recommended to bring a universal plug adapter.
Visas and Entry Requirements
Please note that visas for Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos are the responsibility of the individual traveler. The visa requirements for your trip vary depending on where you are from and where you are going. For the most up to date information please check your Governments Foreign Ministry website or with you travel agent as rules do change.
CAMBODIA - Visas can be obtained at the Cambodian border or Siem Reap Airport for approx. $35 USD very easily. Please have *at least* 2 passport photos with you as well.
VIETNAM - As of March 2017, a select 80 nationalities are now eligible to enter Vietnam with an E-Visa. Please contact your Foreign Ministry or Vietnamese consulate to see if your nationality is eligible. Please note that you should ONLY apply for a Vietnam E-Visa if you are entering Vietnam by international airport - either Noi Bai International Airport (Hanoi) or Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Ho Chi Minh City).
If you are entering Vietnam by land border, please apply for a regular visa for Vietnam. Many of the land borders we travel through do not accept the Vietnam E-Visa. Please view this link to apply E-Visa: https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/web/guest/trang-chu-ttdt
We will help you apply an approval letter for visa on arrival if you enter Vietnam through international airports. You will have to pay for stamping fees to the custom at the airport.
LAOS - Visas are issued upon arrival in Laos. You will need two passport size photographs and approx $35. Tourists are generally admitted to Laos for 15 days with a visa on arrival or for 30 days with a visa issued at a Lao embassy. Please bring visa photos with you.
Please be aware that you will require four clean pages (minimum) in your passport and at least six months validity.

Thai Intro 18 Day
I’ve just finished the 18 day Intro Thailand tour with Dan Woodward and Joe as group leaders. Can easily say it was the most amazing experience, meeting some incredible people and I loved every second of it. It was so well organised and really didn’t have to worry about anything with all transport between places and accomodation organised so could enjoy visiting all these beautiful places. Dan (and Joe) were both amazing leaders and bought so much energy and knowledge whilst supportive with any queries or problems that arose including onward travel. Truly can’t recommend it enough and already plan on doing further intro tours.
South to North - 15 days
I can't overstate how incredible this trip was. We booked it for our belated honeymoon and it was a dream, with the perfect mix of culture, nature, socializing and downtime, I couldn't have asked for anything more! There were so many times I was looking around and thinking to myself "This is my life?? I'm really here right now?" I can't believe the variety of things we saw/did during our time! On top of that, we instantly fell in love with Thailand and the folks in our group, as well as our leaders. Having the nitty gritty taken care of for us really allowed us to destress and take it all in better! I would 100% go with Feel Free again on our next adventure!

Glimpse Of Indochina In 16 Days (Vietnam,Cambodia,Thailand,Laos)
Realistic Asia/Glimpse of indochina was really a blast! Long Pham was amazing to deal with and was there to answer any questions I had along the way. So many great tour guides in each country and being picked up and dropped off at hotels and airports really made everything so easy! I would recommend 100% 10/10!
Southeast Asia Discovery: Seasides and Street Food
Pimm is one of the best tour guides/general people ever, she’s so calm patient and kind. Willing to help no matter what, she took me to the pharmacy to get antibiotics when she could have just pointed out where to go. She goes above and beyond and made my trip incredible! Xx
Southeast Asia Encompassed
Ratha Van was an excellent CEO on our G Adventures trip. He is exceptionally knowledgable, well organized, friendly, funny and courteous. He is always calm and ensures the group members have the very best experience possible. I would take another tour with Ratha for sure!

My first time in Thailand and could not ask for a better experience or guide! Whisky was awesome and couldn’t do enough to make our time in the north amazing. Thanks for everything you did for us and making us feel sooooo welcome

Amazing Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam 18 days
Once again, we had a totally wonderful experience. The luxury of a private tour with a driver and a tour custom-designed to your own needs, abilities, and interests is an incredible way to travel. Our consultant, Toni , worked tirelessly with us to design the perfect tour. The trip was a mix of activities: historical, cultural, some outdoor and active. We saw many beautiful and exotic sights. Our guides were excellent; they both spoke fluent English and shared the history and culture of their countries with us. The hotels were wonderful, all spotlessly clean and situated on beautiful grounds. Overall, a truly wonderful experience and highly recommended.

Southeast Asia Discovery 19 Days
The entire experience was amazing!!
Vietnam Intro 12 Day
The overall experience was fantastic with varied activities from physical to history to tourist, we got to see a lot! Our tour guides Adam and Will were very fun and knowledgable whilst ensuring we were happy throughout the whole trip. I felt very safe with them and any question was always answered. The trip is well planned with no hitches or unexpected experiences - very seamless. We were quite a large group at times so it meant it was difficult to see or took a while to get everyone organised which often meant it felt quite slow. It would have been nice to have slightly more flexibility to be able to do your own thing rather than with everyone such a dinner (this is an option but you felt obliged to go with the group and these places tended to be more expensive). Overall I would recommend intro travel if you want to have all the organisation done for you to explore a countries main attractions without having to worry about travel and accommodation.

Thailand Island Hopper
Taro our tour guide was first class. Made the trip for me and my son can’t praise him high enough. Miss communication with admin and me in emails regarding which hotels we would be staying in on the trip were an issue at the beginning of the tour which I wasnt happy about. The tour itself was great. Once in a life time trip for us

Fantastic trip with Legend Travel. Great instant support from Danny if any minor issues arose. Nostalgia Cruise of Halong Bay was a real highlight. All guides were very nice but a special call out to Tin Tin in Ho Chi Minh and Bob in Cambodia for their fantastic knowledge and great English
Thai Experience
I have just come back from Thailand after an amazing and unforgettable trip, my guide was Mea who is the most wonderful person you could hope to meet. Mea is without doubt the best guide you could ask for, so kind, caring, knowledgeable, entertaining and great at bringing group strangers together. Sayha our other guide who was supporting mea in the role was excellent also and brilliant at his job and so much fun. Everything was so well organised and felt in just such safe hands and all we had to do was turn up on time and the rest was taken care of for us. We went to places just out of this world and will stay with me forever, I’m so lucky to have been part of such a great group. I highly recommend booking a trip with intro and hopefully you will be lucky enough to have mea as your guide in Thailand. The only one criticism I can make is that from reading the intro site it wasn’t clear that room sharing was a thing with intro. I went with my sister and when contacted previously we were asked if we would like to share for separate room and we naturally thought we may as well have one each. We then were asked to share with someone of the same gender who we hadn’t met before. I spoke to mea at the first dinner about this and she sorted it out immediately and we are forever great full to her for managing it such short notice and making our experience so much better. In the end we all on the group were such great friends it probably wouldn’t of mattered who we shared with in the end. Many thanks for the whole experience and I will be planning many more trips with intro in the future. Lewis king
Asian Adventure (16 Days)
Talia was absolutely amazing. She always made sure that you knew where you were going and gave us ideas of things to do on our spare time. She was so good at communicating with the locals as well when they wouldn’t understand us. She has an awesome personality and is so much fun to go out with. She made the trip so much more enjoyable and made it so you never had to worry about anything.

Reviews of Indochina Tours in May
Thailand with Feel Free. Wow what a trip, the country is incredible and being able to see so many iconic places was brillaint. Alongside this Jamie was wonderful making everything run so smoothly with her positive upbeat manner, meaning it didn't really feel like a tour just traveling with friends. As well Ash was awsome and his passion for food is infectious and I'm sure he will make a fantastic leader. We had 17 people in our group and everyone was so welcoming and friendly it was a pleasure to spend time with everyone. Overall an incredible experience and I can't wait to do another trip!!
A very comprehensive tour. A lot of thought was pit into this tour. It was a great combination of city and countryside experience. We had a personal guide and driver in each country and this made a very easy and safe experience. Long Pham from Realistic Asia was superb-checking in on is daily to make sure we made it to each and every destination. First time experiencing a 4 country tour and I have to say it was way beyond my expectations! This is due to the well organized tour company Realistic Asia and Long Pham our tour agent!!

My husband and I will be in moscow and wanted to take a side trip..understand Vladimir & Suzdal is quite nice. Do you prefer that to Sergiev Posad? Do you know any agencies that provide group tours or private tours to Vladimir & Suzdal? I understand that Patriarshy Dom is not operating its group tour during this time. Please advise. Any information you have to share would be helpful.
Vladimir & Suzdal are close to each other. you can use vladimir as base and also visit suzdal.
I will give you some links ( sorry i am out on tour and can't do more research).
http://gotorussia.vand.ru/ ( this is a tour operator offering 1 day tour from moscow to Vladimir , Suzdal or both) there are also combo tours with sergiev Possad with any of the above towns.
In order to organize tours from Vladimir, there are 3 major sites where you will get infor about the tours operating from Vladimir, how to reach there etc.
1. http://www.tour.vladimir.ru
2. http://www.vladimir-city.ru ( official site)
3. http://www.museum.vladimir.ru ( my recommended site)
<< go to english version / select option "services" / tours & excursions
My sugestion would be to go to Vladimir by train from moscow in the evening, take rest and then join a full day tour of vladimir - suzdal and return at night or next day morning. The train takes 2-3 hrs. Details available at http://www.poezda.net ( in english) .You can even book online
Trains are clean and safe. Hotel Vladimir at Vladimir is ok. near the train station. you can find the contacts in google. ( book the tickets in advance.)
You can visit sergiev possad ( quite near to moscow) using the moscow based tour agency mentioned above. They offer day trips to Sergivev possad.
If you want to search the net further, go to http://www.yandex.ru ( russian website) and type in "vladimir tour" or "suzdal tour" in ENGLISH. This will give you many sites with english option
have a nice trip
will you consider a DIY trip?
from moscow to vladimir take a long-distance train or a suburban (electrichek) train from kursky station. there are several in the daytime/early evening. certain long-distance trains are faster and can arrive in 2 hours. suburbans take 3 hrs. probably less complicated to buy suburban ticket than one of a long-distance train (where you need passport, specify what type of seat, which train number...) and also cheaper
once in vladimir you can walk around for 1-2 hours or even have your dinner there. then take a bus (avtobus) at the bus station just up a slope from the train station. the bus runs every 30-60mins till late. i took the one around 8-9pm. and the evening buses go directly into city centre of suzdal. the trip is about 40-60mins
the tricky part is if you reserve your accomodation in suzdal with a guesthouse/B&B, it may not be easy to locate. the one i had booked did not have a sign hanging at the door. i walked around for about an hour and at last had to find a local to talk to my host over phone and then she kindly led me to the right wooden house
