Lionel Richie and Earth Wind & Fire have extended their “Sing A Song All Night Long tour” into 2024 with a new run of shows taking place in the spring.

The newly announced 13-date leg kicks off on May 23rd in Knoxville, TN, and also includes stops in Jacksonville, Memphis, Orlando, San Antonio, Louisville, and Buffalo, before wrapping up on June 16th in Pittsburgh.

A Live Nation ticket pre-sale begins Wednesday, January 17th (use code SPOTLIGHT ), with a public on-sale following on Friday, January 19th via Ticketmaster .

Once tickets are on sale, you can also find them at StubHub , where orders are 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s FanProtect program. StubHub is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

The “Sing A Song All Night Long tour” initially launched in 2023 with a sold-out 20-date run.

Looking ahead, Richie also has a number of upcoming shows at the Encore Theater at the Wynn Las Vegas as part of his “King of Hearts” residency.

Meanwhile, Earth Wind & Fire will follow up their gigs with Richie by linking up with Chicago for a co-headlining summer tour .

Lionel Richie is hitting the road with Earth, Wind & Fire again this spring on a run of U.S. tour dates. They’ll start in Knoxville, Tennessee, in late May, wrapping up a few weeks later in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. See all of the stops below.

After the tour wraps up, Richie returns to Las Vegas for a residency at the Wynn resort that extends through November 16. The singer-songwriter’s work co-writing the 1985 charity single “We Are the World” is spotlighted in a new documentary about the track, The Greatest Night in Pop , which hits Netflix on January 29.

Two of the greatest soul acts of all time — Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire — announced 2024 tour dates, billed as Sing A Song All Night Long . The legendary acts also toured together during the summer of 2023.

Fourteen co-headlining concerts are scheduled at arenas across North America in May and June. In addition, Lionel Richie wil be doing a previously announced Las Vegas residency from June into November. Meanwhile, Earth, Wind & Fire head out on a North American tour with Chicago beginning in July.

The Sing A Song All Night Long Tour will extend into the first half of 2024

Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire have extended their Sing A Song All Night Long Tour into the first half of 2024 – see the new dates below.

The pair’s joint tour kicked off last year with a 20-date run around the United States, and they have now extended it for 13 more shows this spring.

The new dates will begin on May 23 in Knoxville, Tennessee, and run through cities including Jacksonville, Memphis, Orlando, San Antonio and Louisville, before it ends on June 16 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Richie will then go straight into a Las Vegas residency that will take him through until the middle of November.

Lionel Brockman Richie, Jr. (born 20 June, 1949) - aka Lionel Richie - is an American singer, songwriter, musician, recorder producer and actor from Albama.

He started out in 1968 as a member of the musical group called Commodores, who were signed to Motown Records.

Richie went on to make his solo debut album in 1982 called "Lionel Richie" with the number one hit on it called "Truly". During his career he has sold over 100 million records worldwide, which made him one of the best selling artists of all time.

His debut album that launched his career made number three on the music charts and sold over four million copies. His second album "Can't Slow Down" sold twice that number and won two Grammy Awards.

Several more Top 10 hits followed for Richie, including "Hello" in 1984, which included his R&B roots as well as being a sentimental love song.

In 2004 Richie appeared on Canadian Idol and performed on the stage. In 2006 Richie hosted the TV show "An Audience with Lionel Richie" and two months later he performed his song "Hello" on the 49th Grammy Awards show.

In 2012 he released his tenth studio album called "Tuskegee", which included 13 of his hit songs performed as duets with some country starts such as Jason Aldean, Willie Nelson and Rascal Flatts. The album got to the top of the Billboard 200 Chart, as well as making it his first number one album there for more than 25 years, it achieved platinum status within just 6 weeks of it being released.

In June 2013, Richie announced on NBC's 'The Today Show' that he was going to launch "All the Hits All Night Long", which was his first North American tour for over a decade. The tour ended in October in California.

I very much enjoyed this concert, as well as the venue. We set on the lawn on the outside (which I was worried about) however the view was still fantastic! There were multiple t-shirt stands, food stands ect. As for lionel richie, it was an amazing show! Many times after an artist has been big for 30 years they sound different, look different and act different, but not lionel. He had us laughing between songs, sad between song, made us reminisce on the good times and the bad. This concert was better than I ever expected it to be and he definately played all the hits, all night long! Cee-lo Green opened for him, which was a pretty good performance to lead into lionel. Chairs were avalable to rent for those of us on the lawn, which made the seating pretty comfortable. Two large screens accompanied Mr. Richie and he was even easy (like sunday morning) to see from far out. Audio quality was great and I would definately recomend seeing him before he is no longer on tour. As for food, there are plenty of options, just prepare to pay a little more than it is worth but that is to be expected. We drove 4 hours and it was definately worth every minute of it.

Lionel Richie was born to entertain. He is a god on stage. Everything about him is so perfect and so beautiful. It's a wonder to behold. I love seeing him up there in his element doing his thing. He has such a wonderful voice that pretty much anyone would be able to place anywhere.

He is one of those American icons that stick with you for a very long time. If you disagree with that then you do not know music at all. I love being able to see him in concert and being able to hear his voice live and in person. The crowd loves him and everyone is so silent and so quietly reverent that it's amazing to witness. As soon as the crowd starts cheering everyone cheers and the sound is deafening. I love the roar of the crowd. Nothing thrills or excites me more than that.

Lionel Richie still has so much raw talent even after all these years. He really is an icon in this day and age, an inspiration to us all. He always looks so expertly dressed and so handsome up there on stage. He really has aged well and it shows in his music.

I just saw Lionel Richie perform at the Golden 1 in Sacramento last night. His voice is as rich and soulful as it ever was and I have been going to his concerts since The Commodores days. Lionel Richie is one of my all time favorite performers. Every concert experience with him is "personal" He engages his audience with his "historic" and almost interactive dialog. Every one of his songs is a "hit" as he has made so many memorable top ten favorites throughout the years. His band mates, although much more youthful these days (no offense Lionel) are just as entertaining. They are so energetic yet make it look easy, as if they're are up there having a great time and just as much fun as the rest of us! I'm already looking forward to my 7th Lionel Richie concert. I just can't get enough of him!

The venue was easy to locate but perhaps too large as not all the songs could be heard. My friend and I were sat high up and heard more base than voice as a result didn't really enjoy (hear) all of the concert. We arrived just in time for Lionel so didn't witness a sound check which was probably engineered as a matter of course.

A funny moment shorty after the arrival to our seats, a gentleman had beer poured on his head which was surely by accident given the price charged at these venues. LOl

So happy and thankful I along with family were blessed to have seen Lionel last night (windsor, ontario), it is a memory i will hold in my heart and mind always, I just love him the show was amazing couldn't sit down the coud the people were great, yes Lionel was a little late coming out but he made up for the time.

I would return to see Lionel if he ever comes back to Windsor.

Ein super Konzert wie immer von Lionel Richie einen faden Beigeschmack hatte die ganze Sache.

Zum einen hat er nur ein halbe Stunden gespielt, und zum anderen gab es nicht mal eine Zugabe. das fand ich ziemlich schwach! Ich habe ihn schon in der Festhalle gesehen und da war er gar nicht zu bremsen. unter einer halben Stunde Zugabe ging gar nichts. Ansonsten gibt's nichts auszusetzen tolle Location gutes Wetter nette Leute

It was a very good concert overall. I'd like to have been able to hear the singers voice a bit better. It was drowned out by increasing instrumental tones. Lionel Richie's voice still soothes the soul.

Next time attending any concert at this location, I'll be sure to be in the chairs in front of the stage rather than deal with drunken folks spilling wine on me twice while stumbling over the bleacher styled seating.

Lionel Richie is a great performer, very personable, entertaining, and of course, a wonderful artist. He engages the audience through most of his show. This is the second time I've seen him at Red Rocks, west of Denver, and each time it is over the top. I personally would have loved for him to sing songs without the audience singing parts of the songs.

Fabulous night Lionel Ritchie gave the crowd exactly what they wanted. All his hits delivered perfectly. He engaged with the audience which was lovely. The weather challenged him but Hey outside concerts in Wales anytime of year can be dodgy I will now always think of Colwyn Bay as'Cold Wind Bay' Really great Concert cheers Lionel.

Sorry but although he has a great stage presence, he can no longer sing. Felt like leaving after a few songs . Charging me 172 00 for 102.00 worth of actual lawn seats. It was my first time at Ravinia, a beautiful place. Really Do not understand how you can charge so much more.

Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire announced an extension of their “Sing A Song All Night Long Tour” into 2024. The newly revealed 13-date leg is set to kick off on May 23 in Knoxville at Thompson-Boling Arena and conclude on June 16 at Pittsburgh’s PPG Paints Arena.

The tour will take concertgoers on a journey through various cities, including Jacksonville, Memphis, Orlando, Tulsa, San Antonio, Louisville, and Buffalo. 

The “Sing A Song All Night Long Tour” initially made its debut in 2023 with a sold-out 20-date run. The overwhelming response from fans has prompted Lionel Richie and Earth, Wind & Fire to extend their tour, giving fans a chance to catch the musical duo live. 

Lionel Richie, a music icon renowned for hits like “All Night Long” and “Hello,” is not only extending his tour but also has his “King of Hearts” residency at the Encore Theater at the Wynn Las Vegas.

Update: January 17th, 2022 (The Berlin Spectator) —   Lionel Richie is the guy who raises funds for the fight against breast cancer, he cooperates with Prince Charles in other charities, and he fills halls more than fifty years after beginning his musical career. He is also a former tennis crack, and – believe it or not – an economist. One thing is certain: There is only one Lionel Richie.

‘Machine Gun’ on Soul Train

But, as usual, the story starts at the beginning. In the mid-1960s, many of us were not born or even conceived. But one man was already busy founding Soul bands after deciding he was not the right guy to become a priest. In 1968, even before the late Maurice White founded Earth, Wind & Fire, The Commodores were born, thanks to Lionel Richie.

The latter band name does not only stand for a lot of success, but also for sophisticated Funk tunes like ‘Machine Gun’ or hits that would fill any dance floor at any location in the world immediately, including ‘Brick House’. In 1974, The Commodores followed an invitation from the late Donald Cortez Cornelius to make people dance on his Soul Train show. And they did.

A saxophone player, singer and composer by the name of Lionel Richie can be seen playing the keyboard on the video recorded that night. He has hardly changed since that day, even though he is 71 years old by now. Yes, it is safe to say that Lionel Brockman Richie Jr. is a Funk hero. But yet another gift would become evident a few years later.

Path to Success

There he was, in 1977, in the center of the stage and accompanied by the rest of The Commodores, singing ‘Easy’, a wonderful Soul ballad. Lionel Richie turned out to be just the right man for songs of this kind. The fact that he loved doing what he was doing at that moment could be seen and felt. He had found his calling, and the path to even more success.

It happened in 1982. None other than Lionel Richie released his self-titled, first solo album. It contained ‘Truly’ and other convincing Soul and Pop ballads. Just a year later, ‘Can’t Slow Down’, the second album hit the record stores and radio station playlists. Hardly any Black American artist, maybe with the exception of Whitney Houston, was played on Pop stations as much as he was.

‘Love Will Find a Way’, a song he wrote in cooperation with Greg Phillinganes, is one of the most brilliant ones from the 1983 album. Another would be the Funk hit ‘All Night Long’.

“Well, my friends, the time has come” for a tiny side-story connected to this tune. In late 2019, Jacob Collier, a young genius multi-instrumentalist, delivered a stunning cover version of ‘All Night Long’ in cooperation with the a-cappella group Take Six (see video clip above). That interpretation included strings, Brazilian rhythms and a gazillion other surprises. But let’s not get carried away too much on this one.

Grammys Galore

Warning: The word ‘Grammy’ is about to be used in this paragraph. The only problem ‘Can’t Slow Down’ posed was explained in its title. Because Lionel Richie really could not slow down, he blocked himself at the Grammy Awards. In 1983, when this album came out, he was still being honored for the last one. ‘Truly’ got him his first actual Grammy.

Two years later, in 1984, it was finally time for ‘Can’t Slow Down’. ‘All Night Long’ was nominated for a Grammy. So were the three producers, namely James Carmichael, David Foster and Lionel Richie. In order to make sure they would get that Grammy, they actually repeated the same nomination in 1985, when Richie also received the Grammy for ‘Album of the Year’. You did not follow the part about the last Grammy mentioned? Don’t worry. Neither did we.

Besides, ‘Hello’, a rather cheesy tune which satisfied Lionel Richie’s Pop fans a whole lot more than his Soul fans, was nominated in 1985. In total, Richie was nominated for Grammys 15 times. He got four of those awards. The fourth one was given to him for ‘We Are the World’, a charity song he co-wrote with Michael Jackson. The single produced by Quincy Jones and Michael Omartian sold 20 million times.

Coming to Europe

Let’s not even mention the BET Awards, that Billboard Music Award he got, those American Music Awards, the Golden Globe and the Academy Award he got for ‘Say You, Say Me’, another cheesy one, which was part of the 1986 motion picture ‘White Nights’. The latter featured the late tap dance master Gregory Hines and the Russian ballet dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov. But we are getting carried away again.

It gets even better: He is coming. No, not Godot and not Baryshnikov, but Lionel Richie. Let’s stay focused here. Yes, he is coming to Europe. The whole thing was supposed to happen in the summer of 2020. Mr. Corona is to blame for the tour’s postponement by two years. But the main thing is: He will be in Europe, and right here in Germany. “Hello! Is it me you’re looking for?” Yes, Sir.

His newly organized European tour commences on June 2nd, 2022, in Cardiff. Dublin, Belfast and London are next. Lionel Richie and his group will also raise roofs in Nottingham, Cornwall, Warminster and Oxfordshire. Get those Kleenex tissues ready!

‘Hello’ in Berlin

Then, none other than the man with that silky voice is scheduled to cross the border into Germany, where he has many fans. June 22nd, 2022, is the big day on which the man himself will “do” Wiesbaden. His Leipzig gig will be happening on June 24th. On the 25th and 27th, Lionel Richie will perform in Germany’s two largest cities, Berlin and Hamburg. Bonn is next, on the 30th. Munich and Ludwigsburg are listed on the touring plan in July. So is Klam in Austria. In between, Richie will be back in the United Kingdom, in The Netherlands and Spain.

Today, legendary singer, songwriter and producer Lionel Richie announced the extension of his Sing A Song All Night Long tour with very special guests and one of the best-selling bands of all time, Earth, Wind & Fire. Produced by Live Nation, the 2024 13-date run of shows kicks off on Thursday, May 23 in Knoxville at Thompson Boling Arena, with stops in Jacksonville, Memphis, Kansas City, Columbus and more before wrapping up on Sunday, June 16 in Pittsburgh at PPG Paints Center.

The 2024 dates follow a highly successful 2023 sold-out 20-date run of the Sing A Song All Night Long tour which made its way through North America with stops in Chicago, Boston, Toronto, San Francisco, Los Angeles and more.

Lionel Richie And Earth, Wind & Fire Announce Joint 2024 Tour Dates

Lionel Richie, the legendary singer-songwriter, is set to embark on a U.S. tour alongside the popular band Earth, Wind & Fire this spring. The tour will span various cities in the United States, commencing in Knoxville, Tennessee, in late May and concluding a few weeks later in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania. Following the completion of the tour, Lionel Richie will return to Las Vegas for a residency at the Wynn Resort, which is scheduled to continue until November 16, 2024. Fans can expect to hear some of his biggest hits, including “Hello,” “All Night Long,” and “Say You, Say Me.”

In addition to the tour, Lionel Richie’s contribution to the 1985 charity single “We Are the World” is the focus of an upcoming documentary called The Greatest Night in Pop , set to release on Netflix on January 29. The documentary provides insightful commentary on the song’s making, including behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with some of the biggest musical talents of that era.
