It was good. We booked the one-day ticket but unfortunately we were not able to get seats upstairs, so it was more like a normal bus for us. I recommend it if you want a glimpse of main historical marks..but be aware that upstairs seats are not always available so you won't have the full experience.

Worth the money
The stops were not coordinated with the recording. I think you have to improve that error. But it was worth to pay the money to see Madrid the easy way , without any headaches…
Dear 336krystynas, Thank you for sharing your feedback, It is great to learn that you enjoyed the ride onboard Madrid City Tour, Regarding the audio, although our buses are frequently exanimated to make sure that all of the features are working properly, unfortunately, this kind of issue may appear during the day. Best regards,
I wish I'd read the reviews before buying tickets - I have to agree this is the worst red bus tour we have been on. The two routes were fine to use as a regular bus service, but there was no information, the stops were really difficult to find and the audio was boring. We also went in reverse the next time we caught the bus (making all the stops on the opposite side of the street) so we just gave up working out what was where. I learnt nothing about Madrid's history from this bus trip, no idea what most of the places were we went past and seriously learnt more about the history of Madrid from google. Complete waste of money and time. Unfortunately we bought 2 day ticket. We didn't even bother using the ticket for the second day.
Dear Z8441WBamandas, Thank you for sharing your feedback, I sincerely regret to learn that Madrid City Tour didn´t live up to your expectations, I would like to inform you that the complete map with the exact address of each stop is published on the official website, it is necessary to point out that the routes are done in one direction only, Bear in mind that our audio guides provide short descriptions of the sites viewed from our bus to give our customers a general idea of the city. Hope you had a nice stay in Madrid, Best regards
This tour is boring. It is usually nice to ride a city tour bus when we go to a new city in order to soak in the information about sites, neighborhoods and the like. This is a hop-on hop-off bus with several routes. We did the dark blue route but could have done the others. The bus is fine and the ticketing is easy. Upon getting on the bus, you will also get headphones. The audio, however, is odd. First, it is boring... it is just the facts, and in a very factual manner, without much else. Most of the other H/O-H/O tours we have been on are more entertaining, with theme music or funny/interesting commentary. This one just provides the basic facts. Second, it is focused on buildings more than anything else. It will tell you about a building while the bus is passing an interesting statue or other point of interest... those will be ignored as it will just focus on the buildings (and some bridges). A real disappointment.
Dear KC21200, Thank you for taking the time to write this review, I regret to learn that you were not satisfied with Madrid City Tour, Please bear in mind that our audio guides provide short descriptions of the sites viewed from our bus to give our customers a general idea of the city. The music that goes with these explanations strives to make the ride more enjoyable. Sincerely,
Having used this service in very many countries this is the worst we've experienced. When visiting a new city we always buy a red bus ticket to find our bearings and then choose where we want to focus our attention. This trip did not achieve this aim. For example it goes nowhere near the Palace or Cathedral, they are merely viewed through the trees from a very long distance. We did however spend a lot of time travelling down residential streets. The buses we used were not very well maintained from a customers point of view, dodgy headsets/or plugs, dirty handrails, and on one occasion broken seat belts, although we didn't use them somebody else might want to. The worst problem was however poor or lack of signage at bus stops so as a visitor you could rarely be sure that you waited at the right place. A couple of examples:- stop 8 is 100+ metres further down the road than a large hoarding advertising the service, stop 14 has absolutely no evidence on the stop that the service uses this location, someone has merely stuck a front sheet of their advert to the window of the stop etc etc. Normally the Big Red Bus has a clear consistent sign on the top of a bus stop or something similar. Also the map we were given needs to be clearer about where the stop is. A few stops are near roundabouts or junctions and the number on the map vaguely confirms this but doesn't make it clear which side of the junction it is located, perhaps the addition of an arrow pinpointing the stop would help. Overall the service in Madrid is in need of a major overhaul in terms of route, stop clarification on the map and actual bus stop, and its general care and maintenance of customers and buses alike
Dear 195PatrickS, Thank you for sharing your feedback, It saddens me to learn that Madrid City Tour didn't live up to your expectations, It is necessary to point out that the location of the stops depends on traffic regulations affecting this type of bus, Please bear in mind that the map includes the list of the stops with the exact address of each of them. Although our buses are frequently exanimated to make sure that all of the features are working properly, unfortunately, these kinds of issues may appear during the day. Sincerely,
Wasn’t shown much on either route. Not many great sites. Perhaps the audio guide could be improved to make things more interesting.:
Dear Chris H, Thank you for sharing this review, I am glad to learn that you were mostly satisfied with Madrid City Tour, I will take your recommendations into account, as we strive to provide excellent service, Best regards,
Did both tours and enjoyed the trips around Madrid. Saw a lot of the city and was very convenient, as on our visit it was hot, with temps above 30degrees. Extremely difficult to find the bus stops- not well advertised and since many narrow streets in Madrid some stops were a distance away from the attractions. On 2/3 of the buses we were on the earphones did not work. Commentary could have been more detailed. On one bus the driver himself added to the commentary, he was informative and good humoured. Would I recommend? Unsure but we still enjoyed it.
Dear ClareLaois, Thak you for sharing your feedback, I am glad to learn that you were mostly satisfied with Madrid City Tour, I would like to inform you that the map includes the exact address of each stop, it is also published on the official website of the service, Regarding the audioguide, although our buses are frequently exanimated to make sure that all of the features are working properly, unfortunately, this kind of issue may appear during the day. I appreciate your nice comments about one of our drivers, it is great to learn that he made your ride more enjoyable, Best regards

An important factor in planning your Madrid itinerary is knowing how to keep safe while visiting the city!
While Madrid is a fairly safe city (and Spain is a safe country in general), pickpocketing is quite a high risk in Madrid. Because of the size of the city, the bustling tourist attractions, and the number of visitors, pickpockets are quite active in central Madrid as well as near major tourist attractions.
Using a bag with strong straps is quite useful as it will be harder to pull off of you and keeping your bag as close as possible is recommended. It is better to leave your passport, most valuables, and large wads of money at your accommodation (as long as that is fairly secure). However, remember to carry some form of identification on your person, especially if you are not from Spain.
Areas that are at risk, especially at night, are Retiro Park and Lavapies. The areas around Plaza Mayor and Puerto del Sol are also at risk for bag snatchers and pick-pocketers.
When you travel to Madrid, it’s also a good idea to keep a spare Metro ticket in your pocket in case yours gets stolen. SATE (Servicio de Atención al Turista Extranjero) is a specialized bureau for foreign visitors should you encounter theft or a crime of any kind.
There is also the potential risk of scams including petitions and selling fake jewelry, which you should be on the lookout for. In general, Madrid is a safe city for tourists but being vigilant and aware is always recommended. Have safe travels!

Madrid: Cultural Experience with Toledo Half-day tour, City Break
The organization was great, we were picked up at the airport at late hours, and we had excellent service. The Hotel was also very nice, with unique decorations, delicious breakfast, and a comfy mattress. The guides were humorous and knowledgeable and could share many historical and cultural facts about Madrid, Toledo, and the region. We also had plenty of free time to explore the city on our own, such as visiting the Prado Museum and watching a Flamenco show.
Spanish Delights, 7 days
Very impressive tour. Well organised and well coordinated. Tour guides were really good with the Spanish/English translation. They were also ready to give personal support. The drivers were also good. They drove safely. The Alhambra tour was too long considering the hilly nature of the place. Even the young ones were struggling with breath. The free time after the cathedral/mosque tour was too long. A two hour free time is enough to go back to check into the hotel. Those interested can continue their free time after that.

Andalucia & Toledo, 5 days on Tuesdays
The tour was great! We went to so many places and all were fantastic. I would love to return to every one of them and spend more time exploring their magic. Our guide (Esme) was fantastic!
North Spain Discovery
Before I arrived on this tour I thought my highlights would be Barcelona and San Sebastian but honestly, I enjoyed every moment of the holiday! The food and drink in this region is excellent and relatively cheap compared to the UK. You don't spend much time on the tour at the start in Barcelona or at the end in Madrid so I would recommend booking at least an extra night pre/post tour to be able to both great cities. Pamplona has a nice historical old town with some nice walks. San Sebastian is just the place to go to for foodies but is also a nice place in its own right! Logrono is the capital of the La Rioja region so you know you'll get to taste some good wine. I will definitely be coming back to this region! For the tour overall, I felt that we didn't really need 2 nights in Logrono and could have done with either an extra night in San Sebastian to visit Bilbao or a night in Bilbao itself. And that's taking into account the included evening tour of Logrono and the winery tour activities. Beware the 4hr + coach journey from Logrono to Madrid. Our tour leader, Maria Christina did a great job considering that she had to take over at short notice. She organised all our public transport and organised the optional meals, selecting some very decent restaurants. I definitely think she made the trip more enjoyable! I had great fun on this trip and hopefully have made some good friends for life!

Spanish Wonder (End Barcelona, 9 Days)
I really appreciated Kassie's cheerfulness at all times, her great organizational skills and her memory of all the requests the tour members were making all the time. Kassie assembled a series of pictures into a video with music at a short notice and put it out for us all to remember our shared experience. A great service. My special thanks. I would like to be in a tour where she is the Travel Director.

Andalusia with Cordoba, Costa del Sol and Toledo from Madrid
Tour guide Margritza, pardon my spelling,Was basically excellent for Spanish speaking people. we were put in the overflow hotel all five nights of a six day trip with only Spanish-speaking people. The first hotel had English. I think that she needed to be more sensitive to that. Also she was not very good or empathetic about people’s needs for the restroom. I had one stop We are as soon as I got off the bus I said to her emergency. She didn’t seem to care much and only pointing to be to a restroom in a restaurant that the restaurant would not let me use the bathroom. Overall Value wise I think the tour was good.
- €50 deposit on some dates Some departure dates offer you the chance to book this tour with a lower deposit.
Andalusia with Costa del Sol and Toledo from Madrid
It was really rich and informative..
Best of Northern Spain
Having a great guide made all of the difference. Fredy Hernando was enthusiastic, funny, engaging, and professional at the same time. He is from Spain and knew so many details only someone originally from Spain would know. He always made sure everyone was accounted for and comfortable. The Best of Northern Spain itinerary was great. From the big city Madrid to the smaller cities San Sebastian and Lograno and other stops. All of the cities were well thought out including the farm house stay in the Pyreness mountains next to a river and the hike in the mountains. We definitely recommend G-Adventures Best of Northern Spain.

Lalo was fantastic!! He added so much to the trip. It would not have been as good as it was without him. He made us feel comfortable everywhere! He obtained local guides that were wonderful. THe accommodations were fine, except for the hotel in Madrid - Acta Medfor. In fact, I arrived a day early and paid for one day. Although I made my reservation two months early, they charged me 244 Euros for one night, which was outrageous as it was a much lower quality hotel. My buddy on the trip also did the same and she was only charged 130 euros. Can't figure it out but feel ripped-off. I should have stayed some place else but only stayed there for the convenience of joining the tour.

Absolutely Spain
Time was short in Barcelona. We ran… some hotels lack cleanliness. But overall great trip and good value. Good guides and driver. Excellent tpur compliance
Reviews of Madrid Tours
The itinerary was good; liked the fact that we had a lot of time on our own and that we had the same hotel at least 2 nights in a row. Did not like the fact that we had to take a public bus to our hotel with luggage in tow, and that we had to drag our luggage to various pick-up stops. We have not experienced that on prior tours. The day in Cordoba was poorly planned, leaving us no time to tour the city on our own as was promised. Otherwise everything was fine.
Had a wonderful time, the tour guide was very helpful and the hotels were of good standard.

“Soccer Champions Tour is thrilled to return this summer with enticing matchups featuring some of the world’s most storied clubs for fans in the U.S. to witness the beautiful game at the highest level,” said Joe Carr, the commissioner of the Soccer Champions Tour.
“With all five clubs possessing passionate supporters that span the globe, we’re pleased to unveil an exciting range of matches throughout the U.S., a market experiencing exponential growth in the sport’s popularity.”

Several of the biggest soccer teams in the world will take the pitch in the New York metropolitan area this summer.
MetLife Stadium and Yankee Stadium will play host to two of the six matches that will be part of the 2024 Soccer Champions Tour, The Post has learned, which takes place from July 27 to Aug. 6 and involves European heavyweights Real Madrid, AC Milan, FC Barcelona, Manchester City and Chelsea.
The two matches in the New York area pit Man City against AC Milan at Yankee Stadium on July 27 and Real Madrid against FC Barcelona at MetLife Stadium on Aug. 3.
“Soccer Champions Tour is thrilled to return this summer with enticing matchups featuring some of the world’s most storied clubs for fans in the U.S. to witness the beautiful game at the highest level,” Commissioner of Soccer Champions Tour Joe Carr said in a statement. “With all five clubs possessing passionate supporters that span the globe, we’re pleased to unveil an exciting range of matches throughout the U.S., a market experiencing exponential growth in the sport’s popularity.”
Matches will also take place in Orlando (Barcelona-Manchester City), Chicago (AC Milan-Real Madrid), Baltimore (Barcelona-AC Milan) and Charlotte (Real Madrid-Chelsea) as part of the Soccer Champions Tour.
New York has long been a summer stop for touring international clubs, but carries some extra significance as the metropolitan area gears up to host the World Cup final in 2026.
MetLife Stadium was selected by FIFA last month to host the coveted game, beating out AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, among other potential sites.
With the World Cup coming to North America in two short years’ time, the profile of the sport is growing, and friendlies featuring some of the biggest teams in soccer can only help generate more interest.
AC Milan boasts US men’s national team star Christian Pulisic on the roster.
Pulisic has been red-hot in his debut season with the Serie A club. He has 12 goals this season for AC Milan and has scored in four straight games recently.
It’s also fitting that AC Milan and Man City will make a stop at Yankee Stadium with both clubs having ties to the Yankees.
The Bronx Bombers own a minority stake in AC Milan and they partnered with City Football Group – owners of Man City – in establishing MLS’ New York City Football Club, which plays part of its home schedule at Yankee Stadium.
Manchester City faced Chelsea in The Bronx in 2013, days after MLS announced NYCFC would join the league as its 20th franchise.
Real Madrid, already boasting a lineup led by midfielder Jude Bellingham, is expected to add superstar forward Kylian Mbappé in a marquee move this summer.
The August match will be Real Madrid’s third time playing at MetLife Stadium and FC Barcelona’s second time playing at the home of the Jets and Giants.
Barcelona last played in the area in 2022, when the Spanish giants faced the New York Red Bulls in a friendly at Red Bull Arena.
Pre-sale tickets for all matches will be available on March 25, and general tickets go on sale March 27 via the Soccer Champions Tour website .

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Man City and AC Milan to play in U.S. pre-season series
Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, Manchester City and AC Milan will participate in a pre-season series in the United States ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
The five teams will play six matches across six cities as part of the Soccer Champions Tour which will run from July 27 to August 6.
The Yankee Stadium in New York, Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Soldier Field in Chicago, MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore and Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte will host the six fixtures.

Barcelona, Real Madrid and Milan will all play three matches as part of the series, Manchester City will play twice and Chelsea will compete in a single fixture each.
Chelsea and Manchester City are already scheduled to meet in a pre-season friendly in Columbus , in a fixture separate from the series.
Chelsea will also play League Two side Wrexham at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California before the series, while City will play Celtic at Kenan Stadium in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on July 23.
Premier League to cancel 2024 Summer Series tour
The dates for the tour overlap with the 2024 Paris Olympics, which take place between July 24 and August 10.
This could impact a number of players at the Soccer Champions Tour, including Real Madrid’s France internationals Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni , while Barcelona’s Pedri would again be eligible to represent Spain as an under-23 player, having featured at the Tokyo Olympics three years earlier.
Real Madrid’s position is that players who play at this summer’s European Championship or Copa America should not play at the Olympics . Separately, the Spanish side have said that their players who feature in the semi-finals of the Euros or Copa will not take part in their Soccer Champions Tour matches.
Barcelona, Real Madrid and Milan all featured at last year’s Soccer Champions Tour, alongside Manchester United, Arsenal and Juventus.
Clubs are prioritising the U.S. for pre-season due to expected market congestion in 2025 and 2026 with the FIFA Club World Cup and the men’s World Cup, both tournaments which will take place over the summer.
Tickets for the Soccer Champions Tour go on sale on March 27.
