My name is Irina Kodochigova Willmer and I have been living in Florence for over ten years.I first came here to learn Italian, but then I stayed.I was always interested in the city and its environs and have studied it very well, having been to many of its main monuments as well as to many of the fascinating towns nearby.

I qualified as a tour guide in 2014 and my languages are English, Italian and Russian.I specialise in individual and small group tours.I live in Florence itself, not too far from most of the churches and museums where I will take you and very often I go to these places for the sheer pleasure of seeing them.

I hope I am able, during our tour, to transmit to you all my enthusiasm for the wonderful city I now call home!

Aloooha! We are Irina & Devon – two passionate content creators storytelling through our travels. Irina was born & raised in Russia moved to NYC in 2007, Devon was born in Belize & raised in NYC. The big apple is where it all started. Together we opened an online business that allowed us to live a digital nomad lifestyle. In July 2018 we closed our apartment lease, packed our lives in a 5 by 5 storage unit, and flew across the Atlantic ocean to Russia. Since then, we have traveled to Ukraine, Turkey, Mexico, Canada, and came to Hawaii for only 1 month. We quickly fell in love with the island-style and extend our stay for 6 months exploring the beauty of the Hawaiian islands. We realized it was not enough time to cover everything we wanted about Hawaii and decided to stay for another 6 months. In February 2020 we started our planned 3-year journey around the world again. We flew to Sydney Australia from where we started our 3-week French Polynesia cruise. 1 week of sailing went almost smooth but that was the beginning of the world’s disaster (you know what we are talking about). Our cruise ended up being a nightmare and all the ports were rejecting our disembarkation. Our new home – Oahu accepted the cruise ship and we sailed across the Pacific Ocean to where we started. Having to cancel all our travel plans we decided to wait for the travel to be safe again, and take the opportunity to create in-depth Hawaii travel guides, tips, reviews, itineraries, and recommendations. We plan to make the 3rd attempt to explore the world at the end of 2021 (fingers crossed). Our goal is to slow-travel and stay in each place for 1-3 months to fully discover what each city or country has to offer. We love to eat, adventures, creating videos, researching & sharing our experience providing you with travel tips and food reviews. We publish new videos every week and go LIVE on Youtube every Friday so be sure to subscribe, click the bell button, and Just Be Out with us.

Leonid & Friends

Passion. Persistence. Perfection. By Scott Schwebke

With multiple sold-out U.S. tours under its belt and hundreds of thousands of fans around the world, Leonid & Friends continues to astound its global audience with its unique ability in capturing the spirit, musicality, and fire of American supergroup Chicago. And what is even more stunning is that Leonid & Friends, comprised of 11 of the finest musicians in Russia, haven't seen Chicago perform live until recently, yet replicates the band’s complex arrangements amazingly note for note. Chicago has never been in Russia, and none of us have attended their concerts until just recently in the United States," said Leonid Vorobyev, a multi-instrumentalist who is the band’s leader. "We have only recordings and videos (to help us learn Chicago songs)."

Ironically, Vorobyev wasn’t always a fan of horn bands, and as a teenager gravitated to the hard-driving guitar-based sounds of the Beatles, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Deep Purple, and Grand Funk Railroad. "In the early 1970s in the USSR, electric guitars, amplifiers, and drums were rare to find so at school we were playing self-made instruments," Vorobyev explained. "We were allowed to rehearse in the same room with a horns band. Those musicians almost always were drunk and quite often tried to play with us our rock songs. It was a nightmare, and I hated them all!" But that all changed when Vorobyev heard Chicago. He became an instant fan. "I loved so much the brilliant mixture of rock guitars, drums, and jazz horns with bright vocal harmonies," he said. In 2014, Vorobyev decided to indulge his love for the band by gathering a few fellow musicians in a studio to record a video of them playing his favorite Chicago tune, Brand New Love Affair. No charts or scores of the song existed so Vorobyev transcribed the tune by ear. The result was a YouTube video that quickly went viral. Since then Leonid & Friends has recorded videos of other Chicago hits including Make Me Smile , 25 or 6 to 4 , and Saturday In The Park . All total the videos have received more than 50 million views. Also, Leonid & Friends has recorded two albums showcasing its tribute to Chicago. The process of getting each tune just right is a painstaking labor of love. In addition to scoring and arranging, Vorobyev oversees mixing and mastering of each song. However, he credits his highly skilled bandmates for making each tune sing. "All of my musician friends are highly professional," he said. However, Leonid & Friends hasn’t been satisfied with merely connecting with fans through videos and recordings. In early 2019, the band embarked on its first tour outside of Russia that had fans dancing in the aisles at sold-out shows in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Florida. Two other scorching coast-to-coast U.S. tours followed that same year. “The fans were so eager to see us that some traveled from as far as Hawaii and the Philippines not mentioning flying across the U.S .and driving for hours to attend our shows,” Vorobyev said. “I was expecting a warm greeting but I didn't expect such a warm reception and with so much love and gratitude for us.” In Los Angeles, the band met its musical heroes, founding members of Chicago, keyboardist Robert Lamm, and drummer Danny Seraphine as well as Michelle Kath Sinclair, daughter of late, great Chicago guitarist Terry Kath. “We were so thrilled that Robert, Danny, and Michelle took the time to visit with us,” Vorobyev said. “It was an experience that we will cherish and remember forever.” When Leonid & Friends isn’t touring, band members are in the studio in Moscow immersing themselves in Chicago’s storied catalog of hits and deep tracks while preparing for the next tour. In September of 2018, the band recorded its first song from legendary supergroup Earth, Wind, & Fire and also paid tribute to the band Blood, Sweat & Tears as well. Borrowing a line from one of Chicago's biggest hits, "it's only the beginning" of great things from Leonid & Friends.

Scott Schwebke has been a journalist for more than 30 years and a longtime fan of Chicago dating back to its incarnation as CTA. His work has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, the Denver Post, Orange County Register and various publications across the U.S.

Learn more about Leonid and his Friends.

Leonid Vorobyev

Musical director and founder of Leonid & Friends.

Leonid Vorobyev is the leader and founder of the band Leonid & Friends. He is the band’s producer, plays bass and piano, sings lead and backing vocals, transcribes all the musical sources, and he produces, mixes, and masters all audio and video productions. Leonid graduated from East Siberian Institute of Culture as a Choir Conductor. He had been working in various bands as a bass player and a singer when in 1989 he chose studio operations as his main interest and began a career as a record-mix engineer and sound producer. He has been working as a music producer, sound engineer, composer, and musician for about 30 years. Many Russian bands and singers have passed through his hands and ears. At the end of 2014, Leonid decided to give himself a gift to celebrate his retirement by recording a cover version of Chicago’s song Brand New Love Affair. No charts or scores of the song existed so he transcribed the musical source by ear, called upon his friends and recorded the song. What happened when the song was released surprised everyone and was the start of the new project ‘Leonid & Friends’.

Vasilii Akimov

Vocals/Guitar

A graduate of the Irkutsk College of the Arts and Institute of Contemporary Art. Vasily has won several international music competitions. He has been a member of the Russian hard rock band Monomakh, where he won praise from former Black Sabbath frontman Ronnie James Dio.

Sergey Kashirin

Vocals/Guitar (Former Member)

Sergey Kashirin was born in 1982 in Tiraspol, Transnistria, in Eastern Europe. A music enthusiast at an early age, Sergey began singing and playing guitar when he was only 8 years old. Following his musical dreams throughout his school years, he was accepted into the Tiraspol Rubinstein Musical College from which he graduated. After graduation, Sergey moved to Moscow where he quickly found work as a studio session musician playing for many Russian pop and rock stars. This led to live performance requests as well. Sergey is a founder of several musical projects, three of which are Real Bodrit, Rock Band, and Smilin’man, a multi-genre project of depth which allows him to stretch his musical and vocal talents. Many people took notice of his talents and in 2012, he began composing music for the film and television industries. Along the way, Sergey made many friends in the music industry and considered a number of them very close. In 2014, he was approached by one of those friends and asked to participate in recording a cover of a song from the American band Chicago for Leonid Vorobyev. The audio recording and subsequent video of the song Brand New Love Affair were not supposed to be anything more than a birthday gift to his friend but the rest of the world didn’t see it that way. After posting it on YouTube for their friends to view the word began to spread, and what was supposed to be a simple act of kindness for his friend, turned into the band Leonid & Friends recording many more songs which have been viewed in over 150 countries at last count. Sergey, being a founding member, performs regularly in both studio and live performances.

Serge Tiagniryadno

Serge Tiagniryadno was born and lives in Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine where he runs the popular recording studio Crystal Sound of which he founded. He’s combined those talents with his smooth vocals as a member of numerous bands throughout the area such as Seven Seas, and Ocheretyaniy Kit. Serge’s love for music started at the age of three with the guitar, and at four years old he began formal lessons on the piano. When he turned nine he added clarinet to the mix. He later went on to study as a television and film director at the Karpenko-Kariy Kiev National University of Theatre, Cinema and Television and he also attended the Kiev Institute of Theatrical Arts. Serge’s introduction to Leonid & Friends came by way of Trent Gardner, the web manager of the band Chicago. He conducted an online contest for Leonid to find a vocal talent comparable to that of Chicago’s Peter Cetera. Serge recorded his first song with Leonid & Friends in the summer of 2015 from his own studio in Kiev but didn’t personally meet the band members until the spring of 2016. Since then he’s been featured in numerous tracks by the band and performs regularly with them on the road.

When he was eight years old, he enrolled in the local School of Music to study the accordion. At the young age of fourteen, he earned admission to the College of Music, where he began seriously studying the accordion and piano. Sergey did so well that at 18, he was awarded admission to the Kyrgyzstan National Conservatory of Music in Bishkek to continue studying the piano, his long time dream. After graduating in 2004, he moved to Moscow, where celebrity singers began requesting his talents. Since then, Sergey has worked and performed with many top musical acts and together with his wife, an excellent singer in her own right, have organized concerts. In 2020, Sergey, his wife, their three sons, and Lucky, their dog, received an early Christmas present. They learned that Sergey was selected to play keyboards for Leonid & Friends, replacing their long time player Vlad Senchillo who left earlier in the year. During his first live streaming concert with the band, Roman Vorobyev introduced him to the fans. Sergey said, “When I saw Leonid & Friends on YouTube, I thought myself maybe one day I would play in a band like this. But now I’m here, it’s a magic, thank you my God, and I very glad to be part of Leonid & Friends. Thank you very much, thank you for trust and I want to see our friends in the future.”

His parents, a musician and kindergarten teacher, realized his affection for music early and at 9 years old his father enrolled him in a school of music and proposed that he should consider the saxophone. Although Oleg was interested in every instrument he saw, he agreed with his father and began formal studies. Everyone quickly realized how well Oleg was progressing and the decision was made to further his studies. Oleg transferred to the college of music in Arkhangelsk and then on to the Academy of music in Moscow. He remained in Moscow and began playing in various groups performing in a variety of musical styles. He never gravitated toward a single genre saying, “I have no preference in music styles. I love Pop, Funk, Soul, Jazz, Indie, electronic, anything is fine with me.” Oleg went on to work with many artists and played for years with the popular group Bravo which was established in 1983, a year before he was born. In 2017 he was excited to audition for Leonid & Friends because he’s loved the music of Chicago since childhood. He said, “My father introduced me to their creativity.” Looking back on his first USA tour with Leonid & Friends, Oleg said, “I am very grateful to my parents and teachers for helping me to become a professional musician. I love my profession and the smiles of the audiences at the concerts. It is very important for me in life.”

Maxim Likhachev

Maxim Likhachev was born and raised in Moscow where he continues to live today. His love for music began early as a student where he focused on wind instruments. He learned to play the euphonium and its variants as well as various percussion instruments, but his heart centered on the trombone of which he is known for. He entered the musical institute majoring in trombone and focusing on classical music in preparation for a spot in a symphony orchestra. While studying his musical plans abruptly changed the day he was invited to play in a rock band. He was hooked and he never looked back. Along the way Maxim was introduced to the sounds of the American band Chicago from the early albums and he developed a love for the band and their style that is with him to this day. After graduating from the Moscow Music Institute of Gnesin, he played with many of Russia’s top bands and felt right at home performing studio session work as well. Since his graduation he has remained in rock music and travelled extensively performing in numerous festivals within Russia as well as many places in Europe. With his loving wife and 3 children by his side, Maxim is proof of what hard work will do for you. Welcome to the 1000 Islands and the St. Lawrence Seaway

Here Ontario and the United States meet… their cultures blending in the waters of the mighty St. Lawrence and Great Lake Ontario. The native peoples called this region the “Garden of the Great Spirit.” Today, many people still remark that this gorgeous garden of woods and waters is truly one of the most beautiful places on the planet.

See the famous Boldt Castle - A true love story

Millionaire George C. Boldt, proprietor of the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, set out to build a full-sized, Rhineland-style castle on Heart Island for his beloved wife Louise. Construction began in 1900 on a six story, 120-room castle, complete with tunnels, a powerhouse, Italian gardens and a children’s playhouse.

The Boldt family spent four glorious summers on the island during construction. Then in 1904 tragedy struck. Upon the unexpected death of his wife, George halted all construction. He never returned to the castle, which remained vacant for 73 years.

Kingston Sightseeing Tour

Kingston was the first capital of Canada before Confederation from 1841 to 1844. However, its location made it vulnerable to the American attack. Consequently, the capital was moved to alternating locations in Montreal and Toronto, and then later to Ottawa in 1857. Kingston is nicknamed the “Limestone City” because of the many historic buildings built from the local limestone. You will see Kingston City Hall, the Historic Market Square, Customs House, St. George’s Cathedral (1825), Court House, Murney Tower and the last gas lamp. Numerous buildings reflect the Victorian style architecture.

WHAT DO CLIENTS SAY?

The very best private guided tour of the prado museum

My husband and I experienced a wonderful guided tour of the Prado Museum with Hernan from Private Madrid Museum Tours. We received an unforgettable history lesson on the greatest works of art, with fascinating facts and true stories about each painting and artist. We intend to return to Madrid and visit the Prado and other museums again with Hernan as our guide. He is a true gentleman with a great sense of humor and we look forward to meeting him again in the near future. I highly recommend this company!!

Terrific tour

We contracted with Private Madrid Museum Tours for a tour of essential sights at the Prado, and were connected with Irina, extremely knowledgeable (and very nice!). She took us to her recommendations, and flexibly, some of our own wishes. The Prado is so massive this was a perfect way to see some of its most exquisite paintings and sculptures. Brilliant! Highly recommended!

Just do it!

We hired a private guide, Irina, for 2 hours in the Prado. She brought the Museum and it’s key exhibits to life and turned what would otherwise have been a random, aimless and quiet ramble into a super history lesson, helping us to understand the political statements the artists were making in their greatest works.

Knowledgeable, professional, personable

Madrid Museum Tours is a very professional organization. They respond in a timely manner and follow through with great service. But the real star for us was our guide, Irina. She was very knowledgeable about the history and art of Madrid. She added her own personal touch and you could see the enthusiasm and passion she has for her work. We are filled with memories of Madrid, the art, and of our new friend Irina, who showed us around.

My family and I express our great appreciation for Irina’s tour. She delivered great incite and scholarship in a refreshing and delightful manner. Her ability to customize the tour with some of my earlier expressed interests and provide continuity in the overall tour was greatly appreciated. She also gave us a deeper understanding of what attracts us to a particular painting or style versus the typical, “I like that one.”I returned to the museum for an additional 5 hours and the provided headset and signage were a shadow of what we received on our tour. In fact, it was Irina’s instruction that brought enrichment and appreciation to my second visit. We will never forget this tour and recommend that anybody visiting the greatest art collection in the world consider this tour as a valuable way to truly deepen an experience of a lifetime. It is well worth it.

TOURISM WITHOUT TOURISTS. STROLL IN SOME COLONIES OF MADRID

I write this blog to remember a year that I would like to forget:

– In 2020 a Coronavirus pandemic ravaged the world.

– With it, came the Economic Ruin.

Our country, Spain, was one of the most affected. 2020 was the year of Confinement. For tourists and travelers. Airports got closed and with it, Tourism passed away. In Spain, the balance of the 2020 tourist season, showed 40 million less tourists and 50 billion Euros of losses.

Entertainment | why bradley cooper won’t bring his new girlfriend gigi hadid to the oscars, when this year’s ‘oscar villain’ was last nominated for a best actor trophy, he brought another supermodel as his date, his then-girlfriend irina shayk.

The last time Bradley Cooper was a major contender at the Academy Awards was in 2019, when his film, “A Star is Born,” was nominated for best picture, actor and six other trophies.

For that ceremony, he invited his supermodel girlfriend Irina Shayk, the mother of his young daughter, to join him on the Oscars red carpet and to participate in some awkward photo ops with his co-star Lady Gaga.

This year, Cooper is a contender again for his Leonard Bernstein biopic, “Maestro,” which he stars in and directed. But he’s not likely to walk the Oscars red carpet with his new supermodel girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, and it’s probably not because he’s become this year’s “Oscars villain” or because of her controversial pro-Palestine social media posts, according to Page Six.

Cooper may bring Hadid to an Oscars after-party, including the Vanity Fair shindig, which would be his way of “hard-launching” the relationship, Page Six.

HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA - FEBRUARY 24: (L-R) Gloria Campano, Bradley Cooper and Irina Shayk attends the 91st Annual Academy Awards at Hollywood and Highland on February 24, 2019 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Frazer Harrison/Getty Images)

Still, they probably won’t walk the red-carpet together for that party, Page Six reported. As for the Oscars ceremony itself — and Hollywood’s biggest red carpet — a source told Page Six that the actor is likely to instead bring his mother, Gloria Campano. He usually brings Campano as his date to such high-profile events, including to the 2019 Academy Awards, along with Shayk.

If Hadid doesn’t make the cut this year, it could be because Cooper’s romance with her is fairly new; they only began low-key dating in October, according to Page Six. A star like Cooper may think that five months is not enough time for him to want to publicize a new relationship on the Oscars red carpet.

It’s true that Hadid received some pretty intense backlash for the way she excoriated the Israeli government in pro-Palestine social media posts, following Hamas’ Oct. 7 terrorist attacks and Israel launching deadly airstrikes on Gaza, according to the Daily Mail .

Hadid, whose father is Palestinian, apologized for not “fact-checking” certain accusations she made against Israel in the posts. The Daily Mail reported in December that Hadid feared that the backlash against her would spill over to Cooper and hurt his efforts to mount a successful Oscars campaign for “Maestro,” about the famed Jewish conductor.

It appears, though, that Hadid’s comments didn’t hurt “Maestro” at all; the film received seven total nominations. Unfortunately for Cooper, he didn’t receive his coveted best director nomination, meaning he was snubbed again in that category as he was in 2019. Cooper also isn’t a frontrunner for the best actor award. That distinction belongs to Cillian Murphy for “Oppenheimer,” followed by Paul Giamatti for “The Holdovers.” “Oppenheimer” also is expected to win best picture.

Industry experts also say that Cooper didn’t do himself any favors with his mode of campaigning this season.

They both described how Cooper’s “try-hard” persona came out in his interviews — about how he spent six years studying conducting to perform as Bernstein, his “hilarious” revelation that he walks around naked in his home, or his cover photo for the New York Times magazine, showing himself submerged in a freezing creek.

“I just feel like the Bradley Coper media machine, for whatever reason, backfired on him and turned him into this villain of awards season,” Belloni said, “where people turned on the movie and decided that it was vanity play, that it was more about Bradley Cooper and his desire for an Oscar, than it was about about Leonard Bernstein and whatever he was after in the movie.”

As for the Times photo of Cooper floating in a freezing river in upstate New York, Belloni asked, “What was he thinking there?”

But if Cooper made a number of missteps in his campaign for “Maestro,” he could be said to be happy in love with Hadid, according to Page Six. A source close to Hadid told the outlet, “It’s definitely getting more serious, they are totally into each other.”

Bradley Cooper capped off his failed Oscar campaign by getting roasted on 'Abbott Elementary'

  • "Maestro" star Bradley Cooper lost the Oscar for best actor to "Oppenheimer" actor Cillian Murphy.
  • Cooper guest-starred as himself on an "Abbott Elementary" episode that aired directly after the show.
  • During his appearance, Cooper was roasted by teachers and students.

Insider Today

Bradley Cooper may not have been the golden boy at the 2024 Oscars, but at least he gets a warm welcome in Philadelphia.

The "Maestro" star, who lost the coveted best actor award to Cillian Murphy for his role in "Oppenheimer," capped off awards season with a guest appearance on " Abbott Elementary " directly after the telecast.

But unlike Cooper's Oscar-nominated performance, which saw him disappearing into the role — and nose — of famed conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein, his "Abbott" appearance saw him poking fun at his own self-serious reputation.

Cooper, a Pennsylvania native, plays himself on 'Abbott Elementary'

In the opening scene of season three, episode six ("Willard R. Abbott"), one of Melissa Schemmenti's (Lisa Ann Walter) students, Khalil, says that he saw Cooper outside, noticed people taking pictures with him, and figured it was worth asking a famous person to join him for show-and-tell.

"Whenever I'm in Philly, you know the deli across the street? That's my first stop," Cooper explains. "My dad used to always take me there. They have the best hoagies in the city."

Melissa immediately messages the other teachers and staff, who quickly enter the classroom and stand with their mouths agape, shocked to be in the presence of the Oscar nominee.

"If you're famous, are you in 'Spider-Man?'" one kid asks.

"I'm not in 'Spider-Man,' but I am in ' Guardians of the Galaxy ," Cooper says, doing the Rocket Raccoon voice after Mr. Johnson (William Stanford Davis) insists that he's not part of the Marvel superhero group.

The other teachers shout out some of their favorite Cooper roles, from "Alias" and "He's Just Not That Into You" to "Wet Hot American Summer."

After Ava Coleman (Janelle James) says that Cooper doesn't look famous, one student says that his teeth should be whiter.

"Oh, I just loved you in 'The Holdovers.' It was just so heartwarming," says Barbara Howard (Sheryl Lee Ralph), who's known for her pop culture mix-ups.

"Guys, he's literally in a critically acclaimed film right now," Janine Teagues ( Quinta Brunson ) chimes in. But before she can name-drop "Maestro," Melissa assumes that Cooper starred in " Oppenheimer " — his awards season competitor.

"I wasn't in 'Oppenheimer,'" Cooper responds, with a skeptical Ava asking, "Are you sure? Everybody was in 'Oppenheimer.'"

Before making a dash to get a hoagie, Cooper takes a group photo with the teachers and points out that public schools in the area are "criminally underfunded."

Cooper's Oscars campaign rubbed some the wrong way, leading him to be described as "a try-hard"

Cooper has previously been praised for his Oscar-nominated roles in films like "Silver Linings Playbook" and "A Star Is Born." But public opinion took a hard turn with 2023's "Maestro," which Cooper cowrote, directed, produced, and starred in as famed real-life conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein.

The movie nabbed several Oscar nominations, including best actor, best actress, and best picture.

Cooper's effort to pay homage to the late musician was earnest, but his TMI approach to promoting the film during the press tour and awards season gave people the ick .

This includes his recent comments about being completely fine with being nude around the house, admitting to "always" taking showers with his dad, and saying that it took eight months to "really love" his daughter that he shares with ex Irina Shayk. All of these comments came from a single interview, by the way, as part of Dax Shephard's "Armchair Expert" podcast .

Beyond oversharing, Cooper threw shade at awards season rival Cillian Murphy during his interview with Emma Stone for Variety's " Actors on Actors " series.

During the conversation, Cooper said that "Maestro" and Stone's film "Poor Things" couldn't have been made without years of preparation.

"This wasn't like you got a call and then in six months you're gonna do it," he said. "This had to have taken years."

Murphy had six months to prepare for his career-defining performance as the father of the atomic bomb in Christopher Nolan's "Oppenheimer." He received rave reviews for his portrayal, was a frontrunner for best actor, and won the award on Sunday. Meanwhile, Cooper spent six years preparing for "Maestro" and the final result was deemed blatant Oscar bait .

To be fair, Cooper wasn't the only star too eager to prove their worth to the Academy this season.

"Barbie" star Ryan Gosling also released a lazy, gimmicky "I'm Just Ken" EP in an attempt to get nominated for best original song — which he did. (But Billie Eilish won the Oscar, as expected. )

But after Cooper's exhausting campaign, he — and the internet — could benefit from a breather.

Go get that hoagie, Bradley.
