The undisputed #1 iron shaft in golf.  The standard for low launch, low spin, heavy weight iron shafts.

Introduction

Every week, we here at PluggedInGolf get dozens of emails from equipment manufacturers touting the things that their equipment accomplished in professional golf.  Just as no one knows who will win our tour from week to week, we never know whether we’ll be getting emails from Callaway, TaylorMade, Nike, or someone else.  The one thing we can count on is an email from True Temper letting us know that their shafts were the most played, and, more often than not, the winner.

Why is Dynamic Gold the most prominent iron shaft on tour?  I’m glad you asked.

Stability and control.  Those are the two primary things you can expect from Dynamic Gold.  There’s a minimum of “life” in the shaft, just a subtle load and kick in the mid-butt section, no matter how hard you want to swing at it.  From knock down shots to 110% swings, Dynamic Gold is not going to give you any results that will surprise you.

In terms of balance, Dynamic Gold is fairly neutral.  It is neither tip heavy nor butt heavy.  It gives you adequate weight in your hands while still delivering plenty of feel for the club head.

Performance

Dynamic Gold is known for promoting a strong, low ball flight.  Additionally, it provides the player with exceptional control over their golf ball.  Assuming you have the right flex, you will be able to hit any shot that you want: high, low, cut, draw, etc.

Again, the biggest strength of Dynamic Gold is that the result will never surprise you.  That’s why tour players across the world trust Dynamic Gold week in and week out.

If you want a heavy weight iron shaft that is balanced and offers superior control and stability, play the industry standard, Dynamic Gold.

Dynamic Gold does come in two flavors these days: regular and Tour Issue.  The only difference, besides the price and the sticker, is that the Tour Issue shafts are weight sorted so that your entire set will be the same weight.

Can you please do a review between the DG X100 vs S300 ? What is the difference in feels, ball flight, weight…

I don’t foresee us doing a review comparing the same shaft in different flexes. We have information about the effect of moving to a stiffer shaft in our Golf Myths Unplugged series.

Not sure between true temper dynamic gold S300 and KBS hi rev 2.0 stiff for my new wedges. Any insight? Are they worlds apart? Current shaft is dynamic golds in my cleveland tour action 900’s… P.S. i stink out of the Tee Box but wedge and iron play has always been my savior/strong suit. -Steve

Those are about as different as shafts can be. I would say that if your wedge play is good with Dynamic Gold, stick with that.

I have been fitted for amt black s300, is that similar to dynamic gold s 300?

Project X HandCrafted shafts return with new HZRDUS T1100

Project X let us into the world of HandCrafted shafts with the 2015 HZRDUS Black shaft, which was a big success on professional tours and at retail. Almost 10 years later, we still come across some of those original HZRDUS Black and Yellow shafts in bags on the PGA Tour.

The HandCrafted label on a Project X shaft was the mark of high-end, low-volume manufacturing where the shaft was hand rolled in the company’s San Diego R&D lab. Since then, Project X retired that label and moved on to the “Small Batch” nomenclature. Many golf shaft degenerates have begged for Project X to bring back the HandCrafted shafts, and now, the squeaky wheels are getting the grease with a brand new Project X HZRDUS T1100 HandCrafted shaft.

“We are beyond excited to be able to bring back a HandCrafted line of graphite shafts,” Don Brown, Vice President of Marketing and Innovation for Project X said. “When producing a HandCrafted shaft, each shaft is rolled by hand, painted by hand and the logos are even applied by hand, all in our San Diego lab, ensuring the utmost care is taken along the way.”

The newest HandCrafted shaft is a reintroduction of the famed HZRDUS T1100 from 2017 (View our original launch story HERE ). The chrome ion finished HZRDUS T1100 was beloved by higher-speed players for its ultra-stiff profile with very low launch and spin. Toray T1100G carbon fiber was at the heart of the shaft and the strongest fiber available for Project X to create an ultra-stable shaft for the fastest swingers in golf.

The new 2024 Project X HZRDUS T1100 HandCrafted shaft will be low launch and low spin with a very stiff profile for the fastest swingers. 4D Optimized Carbon utilizes a spread tow weave that is used in specific parts of the shaft to enhance stability and control. This spread tow woven fabric is angled at 45 degrees through to increase torsional resistance in the shaft to control the twisting of the head during the swing. Each HZRDUS T1100 HandCrafted shaft is rolled in Project X’s San Diego Lab, like the original, and trimmed to final frequency to ensure consistent performance and precision.

Project X went with a graphics package that will pay homage to the original shaft with a HZRDUS logo done in silver with bright neon green outline in the middle of the shaft and the HandCrafted logo just below the grip. The shaft will have a silver sheen to it, but you will also be able to see the spread tow carbon fiber through the paint in the sun.

The new HZRDUS T1100 HandCrafted will be available in 60- and 70-gram weights with 6.0 (stiff) and 6.5 (X-stiff) flexes while the 80-gram model will only be available in the 6.5 flex.

We don’t have a retail date yet for these new HZRDUS shafts, as Project X can only create so many per day. The first ones have been sent to tour — we spotted them at this week’s Valero Texas Open . We will keep you updated on an official launch date.

As we reported earlier this year , Alex Dee, along with a group of industry veterans, have officially launched their own golf shaft company, leading with the Alpha One. Now you can get your hands on that shaft at Club Champion.

SST PURE identifies asymmetries that exist in every golf shaft and locates each shaft's most stable orientation. This results in more consistent performance and uniform feel from club to club.

Tip Prepping - $2.95

Shafts are tip trimmed (if required) to manufacturer’s recommendations. For steel shafts, we abrade the tips. For graphite shafts, we remove the polyurethane coating. When you receive your shaft, all you need to do is mix epoxy, install and align. After the epoxy is cured, cut to your final playing length from the butt end and install the grip.

Tip & Butt Trimming - $4.95

Shafts are tip trimmed (if required) to manufacturer’s recommendations. For steel shafts, we abrade the tips. For graphite shafts, we remove the polyurethane coating. After tip trimming and prepping, the shafts are butt trimmed to the desired final playing length*.

S tephan Jaeger claimed his maiden PGA Tour victory at the 2024 Texas Children's Houston Open, held at Memorial Park Golf Course. He used golf equipment from various golf manufacturers to win the event.

Jaeger played with Ping's G430 LST driver with a projected X HZRDUS black 6 TX shaft. Additionally, he employed a Callaway Paradym Ai smoke Triple Diamond Fairway Wood and Ping irons.

"It is insane the amount of progress" - Stephan Jaeger's wife on his win at the Houston Open

Stephan Jaeger won his maiden PGA Tour event on Sunday, March 31, in the presence of his wife, Shelby and his son.

Following the victory, Shelby opened up about Jaeger's win and reflected on his incredible journey. She told the PGA Tour that Stephan Jaeger had made tremendous progress in the last year.

Speaking to reporters about Jaeger's win at the Houston Open, Shelby stated:

"He, on the Kory Ferry (Tour) he just killed it. He was so good. And it took him awhile to get that confidence out here. And I knew once he got it, he would just run with it. So that hard work that he has put in, especially in the last year and a half. Just to watch it, I'm like, 'Oh my gosh.' Like he's been through a lot."

"He's become a dad, he's lost his dad, all within the same timeframe and he's just. He has stepped up and he's....I don't know..like it is insane the amount of progress he's made in a year. And I couldn't be more happy for him," she added.

Stephan Jaeger embarked on his professional journey in 2012. Initially, he competed on the PGA Tour Lationoamerica and then joined the Korn Ferry Tour, before ultimately earning the PGA Tour card in 2017. He has won seven tournaments so far, including six on the Korn Ferry Tour and one on the PGA Tour.
