Tourist Visa In Singapore 5

The processing time for a Singaporean short-stay visa for tourism can vary depending on several factors, including your nationality , the type of visa you are applying for, and the method of application (online or in-person). Here are some general guidelines regarding processing times:

E-Visa (Online Application)

If you are eligible to apply for a tourist visa online through the Electronic Visa (e-Visa) system, the processing time is typically relatively quick. In many cases, e-Visa applications are processed within a few working days, often within 3 to 5 business days.

However, processing times may vary based on the volume of applications and other factors.

If you are eligible for a visa-on-arrival (VFA) and choose to obtain your visa upon arrival at Singapore’s Changi Airport or land checkpoints, the processing is immediate. You will receive your visa at the point of entry .

Visa Application At The Embassy/Consulate

If you apply for a tourist/visitor visa in person at a Singaporean embassy or consulate in your home country, processing times can vary widely based on the embassy’s workload and other factors.

In some cases, processing may take anywhere from a few days to several weeks .

Additional Processing Time Factors

The type of visa you are applying for can also impact processing times. For example, if you are applying for a multiple-entry visa or a specialized visa for medical treatment, the processing may take longer.

Delays can occur if your application requires additional scrutiny, such as background checks or verification of documents .

To get the most accurate information on processing times for a Singaporean short-stay tourist visa, it’s advisable to check with the official website of the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) of Singapore or contact the Singaporean embassy or consulate in your country.

They can provide specific details based on your nationality and visa type .

Start the journey

Speak with one of our experts to explore a tailored solution for your business

Singapore has lenient visit pass and   visa requirements  for citizens of most countries. If you are a citizen under the following countries  mentioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , it means that you wouldn’t have to apply for a visa before departure.

The period of the short-term visit pass varies for each country or region. Visitors from ASEAN countries, for instance, are entitled to 30 days of stay , whereas those from countries in the European Union are entitled to  90 days of stay . The length of stay may seem long enough for leisure purposes, hopefully, to entice tourists and travellers to Singapore, especially now that the country has begun to establish travel bubbles with several countries such as Germany and Brunei. These travel bubbles allow tourists to visit Singapore without serving a stay-at-home notice (SHN). You may roam around Singapore as long as you have your vaccination documents with you.

Visit Pass in Singapore

However, for those who visit for reasons other than leisure, like medical purposes, the given length of stay may not be adequate; they may wish to extend their stay in Singapore. This is where a Singapore visa pass extension comes into the picture. As the name implies, it means that you request your visit to be extended past your original date. This process must be done online via  Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA).  It is advisable to apply for a visa extension seven days before the expiry date of your visa pass to avoid overstaying, which is a punishable offence.

Visit Pass Singapore– Documents to Apply for Extension

According to the ICA, in applying for your visa extension, several documents must be submitted via the e-Services. They are as follows:

  • Passport with at least six months validity and submit a copy of the page that contains your personal particulars.
  • Disembarkation/Embarkation (D/E) number that can be found in your SG Arrival Card.
  • If you have immediate family members who are Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents, a document proving the relationship is required.
  • Those seeking an extension for medical purposes must fill out a Form V75, stating the details of the illness and the length of stay needed for treatment. It must be endorsed by a registered doctor in Singapore.

The Need for Local Sponsor

Generally, you don’t need a local sponsor if your extension request is only for 30 days unless you are originating from these countries . If you seek an extension of 89 days from the date of entry, you will also need a sponsor.

Infographic detailing when a local sponsor is required when applying for a visit pass extension.

Please note that the local sponsor needs to be a Singaporean Citizen or a Singapore permanent resident who is at least 21 years old with a Singpass account. You and your local sponsor may also be requested to attend an interview at the ICA Building for further clarification.

Fees and Processing Time

You must pay $40 when the current valid pass reaches a period of 90 days or more from the date of entry or the pass being issued. It usually takes one to three business days for your extension pass to be given regarding processing time.

A $40 fee is required to extend your visa after your current valid pass reaches a period of 90 days after being issued. It usually takes one to three business days to process your visa extension request.

As you can see, applying for a visa extension in Singapore is not as complicated as it may seem if you know the proper documents and fees to submit. We hope this article can guide you to extend your existing pass with ease.

A Tourist Visa:

A tourist visa is a type of visa issued by a country to individuals who wish to enter that country for the purpose of tourism. It typically allows the holder to stay in the country for a specific period of time, usually ranging from a few weeks to several months. Tourist visas are typically issued to individuals who plan to visit the country for leisure, to see friends and family, or for other non-work-related purposes. The requirements for obtaining a tourist visa can vary depending on the country and the individual's nationality. Generally, applicants are required to provide documentation such as a valid passport, a recent passport-sized photograph, proof of financial means, and proof of accommodation. They may also be required to provide proof of onward or return travel, and to pay a fee. It's important to note that the issuance of a tourist visa does not guarantee entry into the country, and immigration officials have the discretion to deny entry to anyone who does not meet the requirements for entry.

To apply for a tourist visa, an individual will typically need to submit a completed visa application form, a valid passport, and any other required documents such as proof of financial support and a return or onward flight itinerary. It's also important to note that a Tourist Visa for Singapore is also called a Short-term Visit Pass. This pass is issued to visitors who are not eligible for visa-free entry and are visiting Singapore for social or tourism purposes for 90 days or less. You can check the specific requirements and application process for a tourist visa on the website of the Embassy of Singapore in your country.

Please ask the embassy by calling or emailing them... from what i know is that u do not need. Just need to fill in your hotel name... but i am not embassy, so i cannot confirm

Often, LOCAL sponsor ( in the case of absence of such - relative, friend, business associate etc) is a hotel where you booked ( and paid) your stay. Check CAREFULLY this matter with the embassy to have a RIGHT answer. It`s THEIR prerogative to deal with such matter , not us in a public forum.............

Ministry of Foreign Affairs lists nationalities exempt from pre-entry visa

The initiative aims to simplify travel for tourists and foster a more accessible visitation process to the country.

According to the updated regulations, nationals from 110 countries are required to obtain a visa prior to their arrival in the UAE.

  • UAE visa update: Citizens of 82 countries can enter without prior visa
  • Citizens of these countries can enter the UAE visa-free: List of 80+ countries
  • UAE passport rises rank on more visa-free travel

Interested individuals can consult the list of exempted countries and visa requirements on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (https://www.mofa.gov.ae/en/visa-exemptions-for-non-citizen) or contact the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Ports Security, and Customs (ICP) for additional information.

The UAE Digital Government clarified that GCC citizens do not need a visa or sponsorship to visit the country. They are eligible for entry by presenting a passport issued by a GCC state or an identity card upon arrival at UAE ports of entry.

Furthermore, individuals abroad are urged to visit the provided link (https://www.visitdubai.com/en/plan-your-trip/visa-information) to access the list of nationalities exempt from prior visa arrangements. Those eligible can obtain a valid entry visa for 30 days upon arrival, with a grace period of 10 days. Additionally, citizens from select countries can obtain a visa for 90 days upon arrival.

For example, citizens of India holding ordinary passports, a visit visa or permanent resident card issued by the USA, or a residence visa in the UK and European Union countries valid for at least six months, allows for a visa on arrival. This grants a stay of 14 days, with the option to extend for an additional 14 days.

In cases where prior visa arrangements are necessary, individuals not falling under visa exemption categories must obtain an entry permit issued by a sponsor before arriving in the UAE. The type of entry permit required, issued by the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, depends on the purpose of the visit.
