Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 Double Stroller - Jet - $719.99.

Baby Jogger City Mini GT2 Double Stroller - Jet

  • Quick, easy fold
  • Near-flat seat recline
  • Forever Air rubber tires

What Our Experts Say

Baby Jogger strollers are known for their easy, one-handed folds, and this double version is no exception. With just one handle pull, this side-by-side stroller folds down quickly and completely flat—no small feat for any stroller, but especially for a double. It’s definitely our favorite feature about this side-by-side double and the thing parents rave about the most. We also love this stroller’s maneuverability and that it fits through 36-inch doorways, which isn’t always the case with all doubles. Each canopy has its own peek-a-boo window and the seats have near-flat independent reclines for napping on the go, two more standouts.

What’s Worth Considering

This stroller can hold one car seat with an adaptor, but can’t hold two, so it’s not a great choice for twins. (For multiples, check out the City Select 2 , a convertible stroller that offers up to 24 riding possibilities, including adding two infant car seats.) The storage basket is also on the smaller side and tough to reach from behind.

What Babylist Parents Say

“It’s a bit big, and you should make sure it fits in your car first. But it maneuvers so well and makes it easy to stroll with two kids.” -Kenna

Best convertible double stroller.

UPPAbaby Vista V2 Stroller - Anthony - $999.99.

UPPAbaby Vista V2 Stroller - Anthony

  • Can accommodate up to three kids
  • Lots of configurations (including for twins)
  • Smooth ride and lots of high-end features

The Vista is a high-quality, extremely durable convertible stroller that’s just as popular with parents who use it in its single mode as it is with those who use it as a tandem double. It’s one of the best strollers around for a growing family, built to accommodate up to three kids with the addition of Uppa’s Rumble Seat and a Ride-Along Board . (It also works for twins; it can accommodate two bassinets, two car seats or two toddler seats at the same time.) It’s pricey, but it comes with a lot: a bassinet, a rain/bug shield, more than ample storage space in the basket for up to 30 pounds of stuff and a toddler seat for kids up to 50 pounds. It’s also beautifully designed, boasts an impressive suspension system for a smooth ride (even over uneven surfaces) and is sturdy enough to withstand years of heavy use.

There’s no getting around the fact that a fully loaded Vista is tough to push and steer. It’s especially front-heavy when a toddler sits in the bottom seat, which is probably the stroller’s biggest fault. It’s also bulky, pricey and not super easy to break down.

“We love it—both us and the kids. It’s a good value. The ability to add on the toddler standing board is very cool, and it’s easy to fold. The only drawback is it’s difficult to put the folded stroller into our trunk.” -Lisa S.

Best More Affordable Convertible Double Stroller

Mockingbird Single-to-Double Stroller 2.0 - Sky/Windowpane Canopy With Penny Leather - $450.00.

Mockingbird Single-to-Double Stroller 2.0 - Sky/Windowpane Canopy With Penny Leather

  • High-end features at an affordable price point
  • 18+ different seat configurations
  • Modern, fun colors and fabrics

If you have your eyes on the Vista but can’t justify the price tag, you’re in luck. Mockingbird is a direct-to-consumer brand that skips the retail markups so they can bring you a luxury stroller for a whole lot less. Sharing many of the same features as UPPAbaby’s Vista stroller, the Mockingbird Single-to-Double 2.0 boasts 18+ configurations and a one-handed fold at about a third of the price. Both seats are the same size and can be switched to either forward- or parent-facing. This stroller works from birth with the addition of a car seat (just remember you’ll need adapters) or the Mockingbird Bassinet or Infant Seat Insert , both sold separately. There’s also a Riding Board if that attaches to the back of the stroller and lets an addition rider sit or stand as you stroll. And we love all of the fabric canopy color and pattern options.

Overall, the Mockingbird isn’t quite as sturdy and doesn’t offer quite as smooth of a ride as the Vista—but thanks to the updated suspension in the 2.0 version it’s pretty close, which is really impressive considering the stroller’s much more affordable price tag. And much like the Vista, it can feel a bit unwieldy when you’re pushing it in tandem mode.

For another single-to-double convertible stroller option that’s a little easier on the wallet, check out Evenflo’s Pivot Xpand . It’s not quite as luxe as the Vista or the Mockingbird but it’s versatile (works for one, two or three kids using various attachments), offers a fairly smooth ride and has some really nice features like a large storage basket, modular seating, large tires and rear-wheel suspension.

Best Affordable Double Stroller

Graco Ready2Grow LX 2.0 Double Stroller - Clark - $215.99.

Graco Ready2Grow LX 2.0 Double Stroller - Clark

  • Budget-friendly
  • Lots of accessories
  • Bench or standing option for toddlers

This budget-friendly double stroller is one of the most affordable on our best-of list and will save your wallet without sacrificing on features. The Duo has a ton of different riding options, which is pretty impressive considering its price tag. The stroller comes with two stroller seats, a bench seat and a standing platform, and you can mix and match as needed. It also accepts two infant car seats, making it a twin-friendly option. The other standout feature is the fold. It’s pretty compact and folds the same way as most single strollers, so although it will take up a bit more room in your trunk or storage space, it’s a definite pro. The storage basket is pretty large and each seat features a full-size canopy.

This double stroller offers a lot for the price, but there are some drawbacks. The Ready2Grow only accepts Graco brand car seats. It also has plastic wheels (not rubber), so it doesn’t ride smoothly on uneven terrain. The seats can be a bit cramped for two toddlers, and the rear seat can only be used in the parent-facing position.

“Super smooth and so easy to add car seat to. I wish the seats had more padded options and the front one had a snack tray, but not the end of the world. Much more realistic in price then the Mockingbird.” -Christina

Best Double Stroller for Travel

Zoe Twin+ - $449.00.

  • Lightweight
  • Quick, compact fold perfect for on-the-go
  • Disney-approved

Traveling with two kids can be stressful, but choosing a travel stroller doesn’t have to be. The Twin+ has all of the features we look for in a double travel stroller: it’s light, narrow, features a quick, one-handed compact fold and comes with a child snack holder and parent cup holder. At only 19 pounds and 29 inches wide, it easily fits through standard doorways and is Disney-approved. There’s even an option to turn it into a stroller for three (or four!) by adding a triple or a quad seat.

While pushing this stroller on (mostly) flat surfaces is easy, it’s not so great when it comes to bumpier terrain. There’s no option to attach car seats and the seats don’t recline completely flat, so it’s not a great choice for newborns.

“This stroller is everything! It is lightweight, allowing me to easily get it out the SUV, glides so smoothly across the ground and folds practically flat! Hands down the best stroller we’ve owned!” -Amy

Best Lightweight Double Stroller

Joovy Caboose Ultralight Graphite Stroller - Black - $249.99.

Joovy Caboose Ultralight Graphite Stroller - Black

  • Lightest tandem on the market
  • Good for baby + toddler
  • Compact frame

Not all double strollers have to be big, bulky and heavy. Weighing in at just 23.5 pounds, the Joovy Caboose is the lightest tandem stroller on the market and one of the most compact. It’s built for a baby and a toddler, with room for the baby in a car seat or five-point harness up front and an older child in the back either sitting or standing on a sliding bench seat. Parents especially love the stability of the standing platform, much more so than stroller board attachments found on many other brands.

If your little one is, let’s say…willful, this sit-and-stand stroller may not be a great option. Joovy does sell a rear seat attachment for children under two and a half years old who aren’t yet ready to stand.

“Handles very well, and it sets up and breaks down easily, and it’s not too bulky. The storage underneath the stroller is too small though.” -S. Holmes

Best Double Stroller for Twins

Bugaboo donkey5 mono complete stroller - stormy blue.

  • Slim profile; fits through most doorways
  • Unmatched suspension and maneuverability

Not all double strollers are created equally, especially when it comes to twins. If you’re shopping for a twin stroller, you’ll want to make sure it accommodates two bassinets and/or two infant car seats at the same time. You’ll also want to be conscious of storage, maneuverability and the stroller’s width. Bugaboo’s Donkey5 gets an A++ in all of these categories. It’s one of the narrowest doubles on the market, so fitting through standard doorways and other crowded spaces won’t be an issue. There’s an incredible suspension system for a smooth ride even over bumpy terrain (it can even curb hop!) and an adjustable handlebar for strollers of different heights. It even pushes and turns easily, making you (almost) forget you’re hauling around twice the weight as most parents.

The Donkey5 is a luxury stroller and with that comes a luxury price tag, especially when you start adding on twin must-haves like the Duo Extension Set and the Twin Bassinet Fabric set. But if your double stroller is your main mode of transportation each and every day, we believe this expensive stroller is well worth the high price tag if you can swing it.

While still pricey, the Valco Trend Duo is another side-by-side option that’s about half the price of the Donkey and is similarly loved by twin parents.

Best Double Jogging Stroller

Bob gear revolution flex 3.0 duallie double jogging stroller - graphite black.

  • Effortlessly handles any terrain for a comfortable ride
  • 9-position adjustable handlebar
  • Tons of storage

Jogging with one kid is impressive enough, but jogging with two? You rock. The double version of Bob’s popular running stroller will help you get your sweat on with its impressive mountain-bike style suspension system, comfortable seats and nine-position adjustable handlebar for parents or caregivers of any height. There’s tons of storage—both under the stroller and in any of the ten pockets—and XL sun canopies so you can get out in any type of weather. It also pairs with many popular infant car seats and fits through most doorways.

Although this double jogger does fit through most doorways, it’s a big, bulky stroller—so be sure to do some measuring before you buy, especially if you’ll be loading it in and out of your trunk on the regular.

Looking for something a bit sleeker that can still handle any terrain? You may want to also check out the Thule Urban Glide 2 Double Stroller .

Best Double Stroller Wagon

Evenflo pivot xplore all-terrain stroller wagon - wayfarer.

  • Stroller + wagon hybrid
  • Tackles all types of terrain
  • Very versatile

We know what you’re thinking: this isn’t a double stroller. But wait! The Pivot Xplore is a wagon + stroller hybrid and a super fun way to transport two kids when you’re on the go. Stroller wagons can be a great alternative for pushing kids around, especially when you go to the beach or park. With one quick flip of the handle, the Xplore transforms from a wagon into a stroller that’s suitable for kids from six months up to five years old. (You can get even more versatility by adding in a toddler seat and a car seat adapter , sold separately.) The all-terrain wheels tackle almost any surface and the wagon features a telescoping handle to accommodate different heights.

The Xplore doesn’t handle all that well on the beach, especially on softer sand. For a beach-ready stroller wagon check out the Veer Cruiser .

“This is such a great wagon! It is definitely become one of our go-to strollers/travel system. We used it with the infant seat attachment when my son was a newborn and it was very sturdy. My son now sits in the wagon and loves being in it. It folds down to a great size and doesn’t take up the entire trunk. I love the push and pull options of the handle. I definitely recommend this wagon!” -Jessica

Best Eco-Friendly Double Stroller

Bumbleride indie twin double jogging stroller - sea glass.

  • Environmentally friendly
  • Dual car seat and bassinet compatible
  • All-wheel suspension

Bumbleride has kept one million plastic water bottles out of landfills since 2011. If that’s not reason enough to love them, we’re not sure what is. (Turns out their strollers are pretty great too.) The Indie Twin is an environmentally friendly stroller that’s great for twins or for kids of different ages. This side-by-side works from birth either with the fully reclining seats + adjustable footrest or with the addition of two car seats or two bassinets (sold separately) and features all-wheel suspension for a smooth ride. There’s a one-step fold and gripped handles for carrying plus lots of convenient features like large canopies each with a peekaboo window and a roomy cargo basket.

The biggest complaint from parents is head and legroom; lots of parents wish there was a bit more, especially those with toddlers on the taller side.

Best Double Umbrella Stroller

Summer infant 3dlite double convenience lightweight double stroller.

  • Lightweight stroller
  • Carry handle for easier transport
  • Dual adjustable seats and canopies

While not the sturdiest or the most accessorized in the stroller world, umbrella strollers are lightweight, generally very affordable and super convenient for travel or day trips and make a great addition to your stroller lineup. This double umbrella stroller checks all of those boxes. Notable features include individually reclining seats and adjustable canopies, a compact fold and light weight, a carry strap for when you need to take it on the go, a fairly large storage basket and a parent cup holder.

One of the biggest flaws of umbrella strollers is that the handlebars don’t adjust up or down, making them tricky to push if you’re on the taller side. Other parent complaints include a fold that’s tricky to master without a little practice.

If you’re looking for a higher-end double umbrella option, check out the UPPAbaby G-Link V2 .

How We Choose the Best Double Strollers

  • We analyzed results from Babylist’s Best Baby Products survey, which polled 6,000 Babylist users and asked them to share the baby products they love the most and why.
  • We utilized insight from the Babylist editorial team, including Gear Editor Jen LaBracio, an expert in the baby space for over six years and a mom of two who has written hundreds of baby gear guides and personally researched and tested hundreds of baby products, including many double strollers.
  • We reviewed customer reviews from hundreds of real Babylist parents.

Most parents with multiple kids close in age choose to purchase a double stroller—and use it a lot . But it’s a big investment. If you already have a single stroller and aren’t sure you want to pony up for a double, there are a few options to explore.

  • Stroller boards: Some strollers offer a ride-along board for an older sibling that attaches to the back of the stroller base. There are also universal boards that work with lots of different stroller brands. Before you to this route, though, you’ll need to make sure your child is up for—and capable of—the challenge.
  • Baby carrier: You can also explore using a baby carrier for your younger child and putting the older one in a single stroller. But this won’t work for twins , and will only work for as long as your second child can fit in a carrier.

There are three basic types of double strollers: side-by-sides, in-lines and convertibles. Each option has pros and cons, and choosing which one is right for you can depend on a few different factors.

Side-by-Side Strollers

Side-by-side strollers , as the name implies, have seats that are positioned next to each other.

In-line Strollers

In-line strollers , sometimes also called tandem strollers, are single-file seats with one seat in front of the other. The two seats can be the same height, but often in-line strollers have what’s termed as “stadium seating” with the back seat raised higher than the front for better viewing.

Convertible Strollers

Convertible strollers are strollers that can be used as a single stroller or converted into a double (or even a triple) by adding on a second seat and accessories . The majority of convertible strollers are in-lines, but there are a few side-by-side convertibles on the market.

What About Stroller Wagons?

Another option some families are considering when figuring out a way to cart around two little ones: a stroller wagon .

The stroller wagon—a stroller + wagon hybrid with the push and maneuverability of a stroller combined with the fun and functionality of a wagon—has been gaining in popularity recently, and for good reason. Stroller wagons can handle a variety of different terrain, hold anywhere from two to four children (some can work for infants with the addition of an infant car seat and adapters) and come with lots of accessories. They’re also, simply put, pretty fun. But there are a few things you need to think through if you’re considering one in lieu of a double stroller.

  • Stroller wagons feature both pull and push functionality, but even the highest-end ones aren’t as easy to maneuver as a tradtional double stroller. They’re also bulky, very heavy and often tricky to break down. If you’re looking for something to use for walks around the neighborhood or quick trips to the park, then a stroller wagon can be a solid choice. But they’re not ideal for consistent, everyday use, if you’re trying to navigate city streets or tight spaces or if you’re getting in and out of a car all day.
  • Not all stroller wagons accommodate infants, and the ones that do require separate (and often brand-specific) infant car seats and adapters. If you need to transport an infant and a toddler, you’ll need to be sure the stroller wagon you choose can accomplish that.

Size and Maneuverability

Double strollers aren’t known for being compact—but there are some that are smaller and more streamlined than others. Consider how you’ll be using your double stroller and where you’ll be storing it. Do you need a double stroller that fits through narrower doorways? Will you be keeping it in your car, in an apartment or in a garage? Will you need to lift the stroller often, or break it down for storage? You’ll want to consider all of these factors before you decide which double stroller is best for you. You’ll also want to think through maneuverability. A city family in an elevator building using a stroller day in and day out needs a double that’s easy to turn, steer and push, whereas a family who plans to use a double more infrequently (or in a different living environment) doesn’t need to be as focused on maneuverability.

How important are features to you when considering a double stroller? Things like stroller configuration, modular seating, fabric, canopy size, basket storage, an adjustable handlebar, reclining seats, cupholders and suspension are just some of the things to consider as you shop. You should also think about if you want a double stroller that accommodates infant car seats or bassinets (and in which configurations) and research the weight range of your double stroller—both for each seat individually and the stroller overall.

Double strollers are an investment, costing anywhere from a few hundred dollars to well over a thousand. While pricier strollers tend to have more features such as higher-end fabrics, modular seats and better suspension, there are also many affordable doubles that are still high-quality. Consider how often and for how many years you’ll be using your double stroller and what features are important to you (and what you think you can skip) when setting your budget.

What Is the Best Double Stroller?

The best double stroller for your family depends on your lifestyle and your personal situation. Consider how you’ll use a double stroller most often.

  • Do you live in a crowded city or in an apartment building with narrow doorways, or will you mostly be using your double stroller in the suburbs or in a more rural area?
  • How much room do you have to store a double stroller?
  • If you need it for two infants, do both seats accommodate infant car seats?
  • If you need it for a toddler and a baby, does the stroller have a high enough weight limit to accommodate older children?
  • Do you travel frequently?

Thinking through these types of questions will help you decide on the best double stroller for your family.

What age range is best for a double stroller?

The age range for a double stroller typically varies based on the weight and height of the children and the weight and height requirements of the stroller itself. Most double strollers are designed to accommodate infants as young as a few months old up to toddlers who are around four or five years old. However, it’s always important to check the manufacturer’s guidelines and recommendations to ensure that the stroller is appropriate for your particular children’s age, weight and height.

Can I take a double stroller through the airport?

Yes, you can take a double stroller through the airport. However, it’s important to check with your airline beforehand to make sure that the stroller meets their size and weight requirements. You may also need to fold and check the stroller at the gate or at the check-in counter before boarding the plane. And be sure to arrive at the airport early to allow enough time for these procedures.

Tried&Tested: Baby Travel’s iSafe tandem double travel system

Tried&Tested

Advertisement Feature

Next up in the Mother&Baby Tried&Tested hot seat, we asked parents to give their opinions on Baby Travel's iSafe tandem double travel system .

Find out what our testers thought here...

What did you like most about the iSafe Tandem Double Pram Travel System?

Tasha Lester: "The pram had large wheels making it easy to handle and good outside on all surfaces. I tried it out in the rain and snow and it performed well in both. It's also nice and easy to assemble, I managed to do it with my twins around without major fuss, which is great. Also the basket underneath is HUGE which is great. As with babies you have to take so much stuff with you."

Sam Garwell: "The pram was lightweight, easy to assemble and put down, and the basket underneath was a good size, which on my current pram isn’t."

Daisy Brockley: "I really loved the whole look and feel of the pram, it’s very sleek and modern and I love the grey fabric. It wasn’t too heavy compared to other tandems and the fact that the older child is lower when seated makes the pram feel level. The toddler seat is also really roomy and isn’t a task to get my 2 year old into. He usually hates any pram however he actually gets himself in this pram and cries when we’re getting out. He’s not uncomfortable in the seat either. It's really spacious and nice. I love the boot covers too, they make the pram really protective for younger babies and the hood being bigger cocoons them from the outside world."

What did you think of the materials of the iSafe Tandem Double Pram Travel System?

Lisa Noone: "The materials were high quality and expensive, that looked attractive."

Natalie Fulker: "The materials seem of very good quality. The pattern is nice as well and would happily use the print for boys or girls, but I’m aware it does come in different colours. The wheels also seem very sturdy and good quality."

Robin Collins: "Easy to wipe clean which is always handy! The footmuffs were good, but still needed extra layers in the cold weather."

How does this pram compare to others you’ve used?

Maralyn Fulker: "As a grandma, I’ve previously used the iCandy, which I believe the carrycots were more suited to younger babies, but this pram is good for older babies and toddlers. However, my boys are quite tall so they may also outgrow the footmuffs quite quickly!"

Tasha Lester: "It definitely stands up to the two other brands which I have tried. It's easy to control, push and steer in comparison to a side-by-side double for sure, and you don't have to worry if it will fit through any doors. It's the first pram I've had that can fit inside my house, which makes life easier when getting ready to go out for a walk. My boys seemed to enjoy sitting in this pram a lot. The only thing I'd say as constructive feedback is, the foot space in the seats don't seem long enough, the boys feet seemed to be squashed up and I had to cross their legs to fit them in and put the cover/footmuff on."

Sam Garwell: "My current pram is quite noisy when pushing. The wheels are plastic on the ground and bumpy. The iSafe however, was quiet and sturdy on pavements and grass, which I was really pleased with. The straps were a lot more supportive than my current pram so my child was secure."

Would you recommend this pram to other parents? Why/why not?

George Dootson: "Yeah I think I would definitely. Only if it was to be used as a tandem though. I think as a single it’s quite large framed and there’s better single alternatives."

Chris Hewitt: "Yes, I would. Even if it was a young family with their first child, as if they add to their family they can then add the second seat and I think that’s great."

Cal Hewitt: "I’ve already told a few people about it because I’m really impressed with it. I think it’s actually a really great pram. I expected it to be really flimsy as you can add and take off seats, but it’s actually a really, good sturdy pram. When I looked at instructions that you could add and remove bits I expected flimsy cheap accessories, but I was pleasantly surprised."

What did you think about the packaging/design of the product?

Natalie Fulker: "The packaging was good, it came very compact and folded up. The design is also good, however, I can’t work out if I can have both seat units flatly reclined if the babies were to fall asleep at the same time. This is quite annoying as I can lay my previous pushchairs' seats flat. The instructions are not very good either, which doesn’t help."

Robin Collins: "I didn’t see the packaging as my daughter had unpacked it, but she told me it was good and easy to set up, just that the instructions were tricky. I like the design and think it could be used for both boys and girls. However my daughter did tell me it does come in other colours which is nice."

Maralyn Fulker: "No concerns on the packaging although it did make out it was a single pram, as I didn’t spot the writing on the side stating it was a tandem."

Would you use the iSafe tandem double pram travel system again? Why?

Tasha Lester: "Yes I'd definitely use it again. It was great to handle on all walks, in woods, on snow, on grass. Not as much effort for me to push as a double side-by-side. I think it would be ideal for someone with a newborn and a small toddler."

Sam Garwell: "Yes, it makes life a lot easier with two children, rather than a side-by-side pram which is bulky and not practical in shops or going through doors, ideal for someone with a newborn and toddler."

Daisy Brockley: "YES! I can’t see myself using another tandem now because I’ve absolutely fallen in love with this one! It’s so much easier to use than any other tandem I’ve had and much more enjoyable to push and much more comfortable for my children. It’s perfect for us as a family (2-year-old and 6-month-old) and it’s the pram I’d choose if I was to buy again."

Are there any changes you would make to the pram?

Lisa Noone: "No, I think it is perfect."

Chris Hewitt: "The front seat doesn’t lie back properly. The buttons don’t seem to click either side when trying to lie it back, so maybe a better system for that. Apart from that, no."

Natalie Fulker: "The brakes need to be more sturdy, and also better instructions on using it as a tandem, like I'd like to know a bit clearer how to lay both seat units flat when world facing. I would also like to see a parasol and coffee cup holder attachment."

What do you look for in a pram?

Robin Collins: "Safety features, materials and a good price. I feel this is a good price, although I wondered if car seats were able to fit on it, as they do on most others."

Maralyn Fulker: "The safety and reliability of the pram and how easy it is to use and fold up. Also, what it comes with/what needs to be purchased."

Tasha Lester: "Good value, nice design. Comfortable ride for the babies and easy to use for me."

What was your first impression of the iSafe tandem double pram travel system?

Sam Garwell: "Very Good, liked the design and I hadn’t seen it before, much easier than a side-by-side double buggy."

Daisy Brockley: "It was really surprising how light it was and how sturdy it was, I really enjoy pushing it. I like the colour and the frame is really stylish."

George Dootson: "it looks really attractive and expensive."

Is there a feature you would like to see on the iSafe tandem double pram travel system?

Chris Hewitt: "Maybe a cup holder? I went for a long walk and it would have been nice to take a cup of coffee."

Natalie Fulker: "The brakes could be better as it still moves when the brakes are applied, so I wouldn’t trust them necessarily near a road. It was good that a rain cover came with it, but it would be nice to know if a parasol or a coffee cup holder could be bought as well."

Robin Collins: "Footmuffs that can go more on the child rather than fixed around the handle bars. Also a parasol for the summer months, but not sure if this is something you can purchase separately."

How to travel with a stroller and car seat

Perhaps the easiest way to travel with a stroller and car seat is to invest in the two-in-one Doona Car Seat & Stroller , which can be used for children up to about 35 pounds and stored in the overhead bin of a plane. However, other travel stroller systems can also ease the burden of all that gear – especially for those traveling with infants. Here's how to travel with a stroller and car seat in the following situations:

If your baby is in an infant car seat: Simply attach a compatible infant car seat to your everyday or travel-specific stroller and wheel your baby through the airport. When you arrive at the gate, check your car seat and stroller free of charge. (Children 2 and younger can fly for free as lap children on most airlines.) If you'd like to purchase a seat for your baby and bring your car seat on the plane – recommended by the FAA and American Academy of Pediatrics – you'll need to ensure it is FAA-compliant . Alternatively, you can wear your baby in a carrier and use the car seat and/or stroller for storage.

If your baby is not in an infant car seat: If your child is somewhere between an infant and a toddler but no longer uses an infant car seat at home, you can technically get by without a car seat since they can ride through the airport in a stroller or carrier and then sit on your lap during the flight if they are younger than 2. However, you'll need to rent or borrow a car seat when you arrive at your destination.

If you have a toddler older than 2: Children are not legally required to have a car seat for air travel, though it's still recommended by the FAA and AAP (and you will likely need one when you get to your final destination anyway). It's easiest to wheel your child in the travel stroller and transport your FAA-compliant car seat by simply carrying it (not preferable, of course) or using one of the following assists:

  • Travel cart: Most luggage carts (including the ones offered at the airport) cannot go through security, so look for a foldable travel cart – this one by HÖLM is a good option – that can easily be placed on the security screening belt and then used to transport your belongings to the gate.
  • Car seat luggage strap: Strap the car seat to your carry-on bag with a heavy duty luggage strap like this one .
  • Car seat backpack: You can free up your hands by wearing a car seat backpack .

If your toddler won't sit in the stroller: Use your stroller as a travel cart instead – strap the car seat and anything else you can get on there. Once you get to the gate, you can either check your car seat (typically free of charge) or bring it with you on board.

Travel Stroller FAQ

Deciding whether you need a travel stroller is an entirely personal decision. Some people are content to travel with the stroller they use at home, while many prefer travel strollers since they are typically less bulky than their everyday counterparts.

No, a stroller can typically be checked at the gate free of charge and picked up on the jet bridge post-flight. It's always best to review your airline's stroller policies before flying, however.

Yes. Simply put it on the X-ray belt with the rest of your belongings.

The Joolz Aer and Doona Car Seat & Stroller can fit in most overhead bins. However, it may be easier to gate check your stroller (typically for free) so you have less to carry on to the plane.

While a stroller bag is not required, it can be useful for protecting your stroller from potential dirt and damage if it needs to be checked at the gate, as well as storing additional items – think: diapers (which can double as extra padding), wipes and other small essentials. Some travel strollers come with a branded stroller bag, but if you'd like a different option, check out these highly rated bags:

  • Zohzo Stroller Travel Bag
  • J.L. Childress Gate Check Travel Bag
  • Gate Check PRO Stroller Bag

Disney World requires that both single and double strollers do not exceed 52 x 31 inches (length by width) when fully assembled. Below are the best strollers for Disney World that meet these requirements (listed with unfolded dimensions in inches):

  • Joolz Aer : 32.7 x 17.7
  • UPPAbaby MINU V2 : 35.5 x 20.3
  • UPPAbaby G-LINK 2 : 27.5 x 28.5
  • Doona Car Seat & Stroller : 32.3 x 17.4
  • Nuna TRVL Stroller : 32.5 x 20.25
  • Summer 3D Lite Convenience Stroller : 27 x 18

The UPPAbaby strollers and Nuna TRVL Stroller are especially ideal for Disney parks since they offer UPF 50+ canopies for protection from the sun. Wagons are prohibited entirely.

11 Best Travel System Strollers

Baby in a stroller

Getting around with your little one is much easier if you have the right stroller. Many parents find a 3-in-1 travel system stroller practical because it includes a stroller and also an infant car seat that doubles as a baby carrier.

A travel system stroller is great because it can be used from the moment you take your newborn home from the hospital until well into toddlerhood.

Based on more than 4,500 Pampers Parents votes, we’ve put together a list of the best travel system strollers. We also cover which features to look out for when comparison shopping, as well as some safety tips for using your new stroller and car seat.

Why Choose a Travel System Stroller

Travel system strollers can adapt as the baby grows, making them particularly appealing to parents who like the idea of a combo product that fulfills different needs.

A travel system stroller typically includes an infant car seat (which sometimes doubles as a carrier), a car seat base, and the main stroller unit, which holds the infant car seat and can convert into a toddler stroller when the time comes.

Here are some pluses of owning a travel system:

It can allow you to move your sleeping baby from the car to the stroller without disturbing her.

Some models have a stroller seat that reclines flat, so it can be used when your infant is 6 months or younger. As your baby gets older, the backrest can be adjusted to a higher, more comfortable position.

Once your baby outgrows the infant car seat, she can continue to use the stroller part of the travel system into toddlerhood.

Even though a travel system stroller can cost more than most standard strollers (some, like the UPPAbaby Stroller, cost over $1,000), you get more bang for your buck because you don’t need to buy an infant car seat, infant stroller, baby carrier , and toddler stroller separately.

The even better news? Pampers Parents recommend several travel system strollers that are around $300 or less.

These are the travel system strollers Pampers Parents chose as their favorites:

1. Chicco Bravo Trio Travel System

travel system double

Why pick this one? Pampers Parents chose the Chicco Bravo as their absolute favorite travel system. With features like a one-touch braking pedal, all-wheel suspension, swiveling front wheels, and a three-position adjustable padded handle, this stroller has a lot going for it.

The way this travel system works is that the rear-facing infant car seat clicks into either the stroller or the car seat base. The car seat base installs securely and can remain fastened in your car.

Once your baby has reached the maximum weight and height limit of the infant car seat, you can shift to using the stroller seat. However, that also means you’ll have to get a new forward-facing car seat that suits your little one’s bigger size.

The stroller includes a parent tray with two cup holders and a storage compartment as well as a child tray with two cup holders. The stroller’s canopy is fully adjustable, and the backrest reclines for added comfort.

Highlights: The stroller has an innovative fold-and-carry handle with a one-hand, quick-fold feature. The stroller seat and canopy can be removed for cleaning. The infant car seat features removable padding for use with your newborn.

Price * : about $379.99 on Amazon.com

Pampers Parents pros and cons:

Pros: It’s very easy to use and fold up with only one hand.

Cons: It could be lighter, and it would be better if you could have your baby either face forward or backward in the stroller.

2. Graco Fastaction Fold Jogger Click Connect Baby Travel System

travel system double

Why pick this one? If you’re looking for a travel system stroller that’s also good for jogging, then the Graco Fastaction is for you.

The stroller features three air-filled rubber tires for a smooth ride on any terrain. The front wheel easily locks in place for added stability when jogging. Unlock it for full maneuverability when strolling.

The rear-facing infant car seat easily clicks into both the stroller and the car seat base. Installed in your car, the car seat can recline to four different positions to suit your infant’s need for head and neck support.

Both the stroller and the infant car seat feature canopies, but the stroller’s canopy includes a peek-a-boo window.

Highlights: The stroller features a one-hand folding mechanism, which the manufacturer claims takes one second to operate.

Price * : about $269.99 on Amazon.com

Pros: It’s easy to use, and it folds quickly.

Cons: The stroller is rather bulky and does not fold very compactly. The handle is not adjustable. The wheels need constant refilling.

3. UPPAbaby Full-Size Vista Infant Baby Stroller

travel system double

Why pick this one? This bundle from UPPAbaby includes three components: a stroller seat, an infant car seat, and a bassinet that attaches to the stroller.

This combo allows for multiple configurations, starting with the bassinet for strolling with your sleeping newborn, the infant car seat for traveling in the car, and the toddler seat, which can be positioned to face forward or backward in the stroller frame once your little one is bigger.

The infant car seat includes a padded insert for a baby that weighs between four and eight pounds.

Keep in mind that once your baby has reached the maximum height and weight limit of the car seat, you’ll have to upgrade to a new one.

The stroller features front and rear shock-absorbing suspension and a one-button telescoping handlebar so that you can adjust it to you or your partner’s height.

When you’re not using the stroller, you can fold it up in one step. However, some Pampers Parents noted that it requires both hands to fold. The stroller stands when folded, which makes it easier to handle and store.

Additional items such as a bassinet storage bag, bassinet bug shield, toddler seat rain shield, and toddler seat bug shield are included.

Highlights: Both the bassinet and the infant car seat feature breathable, moisture-wicking fabric that is also removable for spot cleaning. The storage basket below the stroller can hold up to 30 pounds.

Price * : about $1,199.98 on Amazon.com

Pros: It’s easy to use, made of quality materials, and it can be used to accommodate more children.

Cons: It’s very heavy and very expensive.

4. Baby Trend Expedition Jogger Travel System

travel system double

Why pick this one? This jogging stroller from Baby Trend features a swiveling and locking front wheel, with all-terrain tires. The wheels can be quick-released for extra-compact storage.

The stroller features a convenient parent tray and a child tray. There is also a large storage basket under the stroller for things like diaper bags and other necessities.

The five-point harness on both the stroller and infant car seat is easy to adjust with one hand, and there is a push-button release.

The car seat base features four positions so that you can adjust the infant car seat to the proper height for your little one. And the infant car seat has a multi-grip handle that is easy to hold and carry when you’re transferring your baby from the car to the stroller base.

Highlights: For easy maneuvering, the push handle is extra wide, ergonomically shaped, and foam padded. The footrest features reflectors to provide better visibility in low-light conditions.

Price*: about $132.99 on Amazon.com

Pros: It’s easy to maneuver over many different terrains with one hand, and it’s affordable.

Cons: The storage basket could be bigger and it isn’t as easy to access when your baby is in the stroller.

5. Evenflo Vive Travel System

travel system double

Why pick this one? Unlike the other travel system strollers that made the Pampers Parents list, the Evenflo Vive Travel System’s infant car seat has an extended weight rating of up to 35 pounds, so you can use it a bit longer than the other car seats on this list.

Eventually you will have to upgrade to a new car seat, but at least with this product it will be able to happen later.

The stroller’s 13-inch-thick EVA wheels feature shock absorption in the front, which helps make the stroller more stable.

In addition to the storage basket under the stroller base, there is a storage pocket on the back of your baby’s seat.

Highlights: The stroller features a very slim 16-inch fold, so it doesn’t take up too much space in the trunk of your car or when in storage.

Price * : about $106.99 on Amazon.com

Pros: It’s lightweight and it’s easy to move from the car to the stroller.

Cons: The wheels aren’t the best and they tend to be squeaky.

6. Baby Trend Skyline 35 Travel System

travel system double

Why pick this one? Although it’s not a jogging stroller, the Baby Trend Skyline features three wheels, which can help make it easier to maneuver much like a jogger-style stroller. The rear wheels are lockable for when you need to put on the brakes.

Handy features of this stroller include a handle that is adjustable to your height, and one-handed foldability.

The parent tray includes a covered compartment for storing items you may want to keep secured nearby, but there’s also an extra-large storage basket below the stroller.

The infant car seat of this travel system includes a reversible infant insert and a six-position crotch belt adjustment. The car seat base can be adjusted in four different ways with the push of a button to ensure the infant car seat is level.

Highlights: Both the car seat’s and the stroller’s canopies are made of two panels, but the stroller canopy also includes a peek-a-boo window on the front and mesh windows on the sides.

Price * : about $161.99 on Amazon.com

Pros: The price is affordable and it’s easy to fold up and open.

Cons: The buckle on the infant car seat could be easier to use.

7. Safety 1st Smooth Ride Travel System

travel system double

Why pick this one? Designed with travel in mind, the Safety 1st Smooth Ride makes it easy to transfer your baby’s car seat to the stroller with its QuickClick technology. Once your baby outgrows the infant car seat, you can continue to use the stroller through toddlerhood, but keep in mind that you’ll have to purchase a new car seat.

Folding the stroller is easy with the one-handed operation. Once folded, it can stand on its own without tipping over.

The rear-facing infant car seat includes head and body inserts for your newborn as well as four adjustable harness heights to help you achieve the perfect fit for your baby.

Highlights: The large stroller canopy features a flip-out visor and a mesh peek-a-boo window.

Price * : about $179.99 on Amazon.com

Pros: The stroller is easy to handle, it’s easy to travel with, and it’s affordable.

Cons: The storage basket could be bigger and the canopy could be more durable.

8. Chicco Viaro Travel System

travel system double

Why pick this one? The Chicco Viaro Travel System features a lightweight frame and three-wheel maneuverability, making it an appealing option if you travel a lot. The one-handed fold feature makes it even easier to handle when you’re trying to get it in and out of the trunk, and opened up and ready to go quickly.

Like many of the other strollers on this list, it includes a child tray, parent tray, and large storage basket.

The stroller also has a multi-position reclining seat, which will come in handy with your newborn, who requires the head support. There’s also an adjustable canopy and toe-tap brakes on the back wheels.

The infant car seat includes head and body supports. The car seat easily transfers from the car seat base to the stroller base for travel. Once your baby reaches the car seat's maximum height and weight recommendations, you can still keep on using the stroller through toddlerhood, but you’ll have to purchase a new car seat.

Some Pampers Parents noted they would prefer one large front wheel versus the small two-sided front wheel on the stroller for better maneuverability.

Highlights: At just 18 pounds, this is the lightest travel system stroller on our list.

Price * : about $349.99 on Amazon.com

Pros: You’ll love the versatility and portability.

Cons: The handle could be adjustable and it could use better quality wheels.

9. Evenflo Pivot Modular Travel System

travel system double

Why pick this one? The Evenflo Pivot Travel System was designed so that both the stroller seat and infant car seat can face either forward or backward in the stroller frame, depending on your preference. Plus, the stroller seat can be adapted and positioned horizontally as a bassinet-like carriage for strolling with your newborn.

The stroller frame features four large cruiser tires for smoother handling. There is a three-panel canopy; however, the canopy does not have mesh panels or a baby window, which some of the other models on this list offer.

The infant car seat features a four-position recline for your baby’s comfort and a unique ergonomic handle so that it can be carried in the bend of your arm.

The stroller has no child tray or parent tray, which may be a deal-breaker for some.

Highlights: This travel system includes a blanket boot, which keeps your baby’s legs warm in cold weather.

Price * : about $279.99 on Amazon.com

Pros: You’ll like the design without the expensive price tag. There’s the option of changing the direction of the seat.

Cons: It’s difficult to close the stroller with one hand. The front wheels tend to get stuck on certain surfaces.

10. Graco Trax Jogger Travel System

travel system double

Why pick this one? This jogging stroller from Graco features air-filled rubber tires with suspension for a very smooth ride on a variety of terrains. The single front wheel can lock in place for running, and unlock so that it can swivel for daily strolling.

The one-handed folding feature includes an automatic lock so that the stroller will remain closed and standing when stored. Keep in mind that some Pampers Parents noted that when folded the stroller is awkward to transport.

The stroller also features a safety tether that attaches to your arm as an extra layer of security to ensure the stroller can’t roll away, even when you are running. The baby seat features deluxe padding and multiple positions for your baby’s comfort and safety.

The infant car seat comes with newborn head support. It also has its own expandable canopy. The seat cushion is machine washable.

Use the infant car seat until your baby reaches the maximum weight and height limit. After that, you’ll have to purchase a new car seat. But your baby can continue to use the stroller into her toddler years.

Highlights: The stroller’s expandable canopy not only features a peek-a-boo window but also provides UV 50 sun protection.

Price * : about $201.07 on Amazon.com

Pros: You’ll love the handle adjustability and the superior suspension for jogging.

Cons: The front wheel can be problematic when it comes to steering and maneuvering, and the stroller could be easier to clean.

11. Evenflo Pivot Xpand Modular Travel System

travel system double

Why pick this one? The manufacturer of the Evenflo Pivot Xpand Travel System claims you can configure the stroller 22 different ways, including accommodating 2 riders at the same time. This means you can use this stroller with your infant and your toddler simultaneously, for example.

This is how it works: The stroller frame features a unique slide and lock system, which allows for expansion in order to accommodate both the toddler seat and the infant car seat. You can configure each seat to face different directions. The toddler seat can also be configured to be used in infant mode.

This travel system stroller can come in handy if you have a newborn and a toddler and don’t want to commit to buying a double stroller .

Be aware that the infant car seat has a maximum weight and height limit. So, at some point your baby will outgrow it and you’ll have to upgrade to a new car seat. But you’ll be able to use the stroller portion of the travel system into toddlerhood.

The storage basket underneath can expand to over two feet long and is accessible from the front and back.

Highlights: The seat pad can be machine-washed in cold water and placed in the dryer on low. When folded, the stroller can stand on its own even with the toddler seat attached.

Price*: about $322.22 on Amazon.com

Pros: The combination of features, the multiple configurations, and the design without the expense.

Cons: There is no infant tray or parent tray. The wheels tend to make steering tricky and can get stuck sometimes.

Features to Consider When Buying a Travel System Stroller

When it comes to choosing a travel system stroller, here are some important things to consider:

JPMA safety seal. Make sure your stroller and infant car seat combo meets strict U.S. safety standards. It’s worth checking to see if the product has been recalled . Look for a seal on the packaging that shows that the manufacturer participates in the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association’s (JPMA) certification program.

Secure harness. A five-point harness is standard for most strollers and infant car seats. Experts say it’s the safest option because it secures your baby over his shoulders, at the waist, and between the legs. Secured this way, he can’t slide out, fall out, or climb out. The straps should be easily adjustable and easy for you to use, but difficult (or even impossible) for your baby to unfasten himself.

Recline function. This will be important when you’re using the stroller or infant car seat with your newborn. Newborns don’t have the ability to sit up or hold their heads up, so you’ll want to make sure your newborn is in a comfortable reclined position to prevent his head from flopping forward.

Easy-to-open-and-close stroller. Opening or folding a stroller with one hand can be a blessing, especially when you’re holding your baby in your other arm. A stroller that remains upright when folded can also come in handy when storing.

Easy-to-install car seat. Some infant car seats may be easier to install than others. Most feature a LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system in the car seat base, which can make it a lot easier to install. The infant car seat clicks into the base, and it’s easy to remove and attach to the stroller base. If you plan to transfer the car seat from car to car, it can be beneficial to have one that has an easy-to-install car seat base, or you could consider buying an additional car seat base for the other car. To make sure that the car seat is correctly installed, you might consult a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician .

Protective canopy. Being able to keep your baby shaded from the sun and covered in case of bad weather will be important. Canopies come in a range of sizes and styles. Some provide nearly full coverage of the front of the stroller. If that’s the style that interests you, make sure it has mesh panels, which can help keep your baby at a comfortable temperature. You can also consider a model that has a plastic window so that your baby can see out and you can see in. If this feature is not included in the stroller you like, you can often purchase it separately. Most infant car seats will also have a canopy, but these often don’t have the peek-a-boo window features or mesh panels of a stroller’s canopy.

Suitable stroller wheels. Larger wheels make maneuvering the stroller much easier. You’ll want a stroller that has lockable front swiveling wheels, as this makes it easier to go over a variety of terrains. Air-filled tires provide a smooth ride, but need to be pumped up occasionally. Foam-filled tires provide the same smooth ride but don’t need refilling. Many strollers include a suspension system with shock absorbers to make the ride even smoother. It’s best to avoid strollers with tiny plastic wheels as these can make the stroller bounce around a bit.

Roomy storage. Having a large storage basket underneath the stroller can come in handy for stashing your handbag, diaper bag , and any other necessities. Some stroller models may feature dividers or zippered pockets for storing valuables. The basket should be accessible even when the infant car seat is in place or fully reclined. The storage basket should be strong enough so that it doesn’t drag on the ground once filled with your items.

Good brakes. Most strollers have foot-activated brakes that are controlled by either a single foot bar at the rear of the stroller, or a pedal above each of the rear wheels. Some models come with a hand-operated lever near the handlebar.

Comfortable and adjustable handlebars. You may want to look for a stroller with padded handles that can be adjusted to suit your height. Some strollers have two separate handles instead of a single handlebar.

Easy-to-clean fabric and upholstery. Some stroller and infant car seat manufacturers have layered seat fabrics that can be removed as needed. For example, a breathable mesh seat for summer can be layered with a cushioned one for winter. Choose a travel system that is easy to clean. Some include seat covers that are removable and machine washable; others offer stain-resistant fabrics that are easy to wipe down.

Size and fit. Before selecting an infant car seat, it’s a good idea to measure your car’s back seat to ensure the car seat will fit. It’s also smart to check the size of your trunk to ensure the stroller will fit once it’s folded.

Safety Considerations When Using Your Travel System Stroller

Once you’ve chosen the best travel system for you and your baby, here are some safety tips to keep in mind as you use both the car seat and stroller:

Don’t leave your baby alone or unattended in the stroller or in the infant car seat.

Be sure to use your stroller’s brakes to lock the wheels before placing your baby in the stroller, and whenever you have stopped with the stroller.

Always check your automobile’s instruction manual and the infant car seat’s guidelines for information on the safe installation of the infant car seat. Do not use any additional straps that aren’t part of the travel system to install the car seat.

Remember that the safest place for your baby to ride in a car is the back seat, with the infant car seat facing the rear until she’s at least 2 years old or exceeds the manufacturer's maximum weight and height limits. After that you can upgrade to a new front-facing car seat .

Don’t hang heavy items like hand bags, tote bags, or diaper bags from the stroller handles. The weight can cause the stroller to tip backward. Instead use the storage areas under the stroller.

Watch out for your baby’s fingers when using the stroller so she doesn’t get them caught in the wheels or the hinges of the stroller’s folding parts. Also, make sure that your baby can’t reach the brake lever.

After placing your little one in the stroller or the infant car seat, be sure to always use the five-point harness so that she is properly secured whenever she’s riding in the stroller or in the car. The harness straps should be at or under your baby’s shoulders and the chest clip should be at armpit level. You know the harness is tight enough when you can’t pinch any strap fabric at your baby’s shoulders.

Don’t use the car seat or stroller as a substitute for your baby's crib, which is the safest place for your little one to sleep. You might be tempted to allow your baby to finish a nap in the car seat, but doing so can lead to the development of a flat spot on the back of your baby’s head, cause acid reflux or GERD , and affect her breathing.

If you decide to attach toys to the stroller, make sure they’re securely fastened so they won’t fall on your baby. Remove these toys as soon as your baby can sit or reach them.

If your stroller has a cup holder, make sure never to use it for hot drinks, which could accidentally spill on your baby.

In hot weather, don’t leave the stroller in the sun as it can cause the plastic and metal parts to get hot. Check that the stroller isn’t hot before putting your baby inside. The same goes for the infant car seat. If you plan to leave your car in a parking lot for long hours during hot weather, consider covering the car seat with a towel to prevent it from getting too hot. Always check the car seat isn’t hot before placing your baby in it.

Be sure to mail back the warranty card to the travel system stroller’s manufacturer so that you’ll be notified in case there’s a recall.

A travel system can be a wonderful way to move your baby from the car to stroller and back again with ease. And it has the added benefit of being useful once your little one is into her toddler years. We hope that Pampers Parents’ insights have helped make your buying decision a little bit easier.

If you’re still in the process of compiling a baby shower registry , why not add the travel system of your choice to the list?

Olivia Munn reveals she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy

Olivia Munn arrives at Chanel's 15th Annual Pre-Oscar Awards Dinner on Saturday, March 9,...

(AP) - Olivia Munn has revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy, thanking her doctors and urging fans to calculate their own risk assessment.

“I’m lucky. We caught it with enough time that I had options. I want the same for any woman who might have to face this one day,” the 43-year-old actor posted on Instagram on Wednesday with photos and a video of her being treated at a hospital.

Munn said she took a genetic test in February 2023 that checks for 90 different cancer genes and was negative for all. Even so, her doctor decided to calculate her Breast Cancer Risk Assessment Score and that “saved my life,” Munn wrote.

Recording a high score, Munn had imaging tests and then got a biopsy, which found she had an aggressive form of cancer in both breasts. She had a double mastectomy 30 days after the biopsy and has had four surgeries in the past 10 months. She said she kept it private because “I needed to catch my breath and get through some of the hardest parts before sharing.”

Munn thanked family and friends, especially her partner, comedian John Mulaney, “for being there before I went into each surgery and being there when I woke up, always placing framed photos of our little boy Malcolm so it would be the first thing I saw when I opened my eyes.”

Munn was a correspondent on “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” and her movie credits include “Magic Mike,” “The Predator,” “Office Christmas Party” and “X-Men: Apocalypse.”

Ukraine war latest: Anti-Putin armed groups tell Russian cities to evacuate as they launch attack

Anti-Kremlin armed groups are urging civilians to evacuate from Russian border regions ahead of "massive strikes". They called on local officials to "immediately announce" evacuations from Kursk and Belgorod.

Staying on the subject of the Russian election, we can now bring you footage of Vladimir Putin's message to Russia as he urged citizens to vote when polls open tomorrow.

The president said every vote was "valuable and significant".

This week's election is expected to hand Mr Putin another six-year term, keeping him in post until at least 2030.

Ukraine's foreign ministry has called voting for the Russian presidential election in occupied regions is illegal and void as it urged citizens not to take part.

A campaign to push people to vote in the occupied parts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson shows Russia's "flagrant disregard for international law", the ministry said.

Elections in these areas are "legally null and void" and should not be recognised by international partners, it said, adding that forcing Ukrainian citizens to take part would be illegal.

It urged people in the occupied areas not to take part and to stay away from areas near polling stations while voting is taking place.

Anti-Kremlin armed groups are urging civilians to evacuate from Russian border regions ahead of "massive strikes".

The Freedom of Russia Legion, Russian Volunteer Corps and the Siberian Battalion, Ukraine-based militias purportedly made up of Russian fighters, called on local officials to "immediately announce" evacuations from Kursk and Belgorod.

"Civilians should not suffer from the war," the groups said in a joint statement posted to the Freedom of Russia Legion Telegram channel .

It described the border regions as a "combat zone".

The groups said earlier this week they had successfully launched incursions into Kursk and Belgorod, but Russia claimed to have thwarted the attacks.

Russian forces were reportedly repelling another attack by Ukrainian-based armed groups in Kursk earlier (see 10.07 post).

Jens Stoltenberg has urged NATO members to rapidly deliver more military aid to Ukraine to avoid the "grave historic mistake" of a Russian win on the battlefield.

The alliance's secretary-general said Ukrainians are "not running out of courage, they are running out of ammunition".

"Together we have the capacity to provide Ukraine with what it needs," he said. "We need to show the political will to do so."

NATO countries must "dig deep and deliver quickly" as delays will lead to "real consequences on the battlefield", Mr Stoltenberg said as he delivered the annual report for 2023.

"This is a critical moment. It will be a grave historic mistake to allow Putin to prevail," he said.

NATO secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg is delivering the alliance's annual report in Brussels.

The report sums up NATO's main achievements from 2023 and will touch on the war in Ukraine.

You can watch live below, and we will bring you any key lines in this blog.

The UK needs to increase investment in its defence forces as it will be "vulnerable" if Ukraine does not win the war, an ex-army chief has said.

General Lord Dannatt, former chief of the general staff, told Sky News the case for boosting defence spending was growing.

UK chancellor Jeremy Hunt said in his spring budget that spending would rise to 2.5% of GDP "as soon as economic conditions allow".

But Lord Dannatt said: "I don't think we can guarantee that Vladimir Putin is going to wait until conditions allow for us to go to 2.5%... before he is more aggressive in Europe."

The navy, army and air force all require investment, he said.

"A brutal land war in Europe rather underlines the need to make sure that we've got a good land deterrent capability," Lord Dannatt added.

He said the UK would be "vulnerable if Ukraine fails", meaning we "absolutely have to ensure" it secures victory over Russia.

Lord Dannatt also said a Donald Trump presidency come November could put future US spending for Ukraine in doubt, meaning Europe would need to "pick up the slack". "That's going to be really quite a bill."

He pointed out that defence spending was between 4-5% during the Cold War, preventing it from "ever going hot".

"That's the price of deterrence," he said.

Rescuers have recovered another body from the rubble of a building following a Russian attack in Ukraine's northeastern Sumy region.

It brings the number of people killed in yesterday's attack to three, with rescue operations still ongoing, according to Ukraine's state emergency service.

At least eight people were injured when a Russian drone hit a residential block overnight.

Ukrainian defenders are fighting back against ongoing Russian attacks in southern Ukraine - as illustrated by these pictures from Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty/Serhii Nuzhnenko via Reuters.

In the Kherson region, frontline troops were pictured firing a D-30 howitzer towards Russian soldiers.

Russian forces are repelling attacks in two of its border regions, according to Russian state media.

The TASS news agency said Russia's National Guard and armed forces were pushing back armed groups near the village of Tyotkino, in the Kursk region.

Russia's defence ministry also told the Interfax agency it had thwarted an attempt by the Ukrainian army to break through in Belgorod.

It comes after Ukraine-based groups, purportedly made up of Russian fighters opposed to the Kremlin, claimed to launch cross-border raids into Belgorod and Kursk on Tuesday.

Russian oil giant Lukoil has announced the death of its vice-president Vitaly Robertus.

Mr Robertus died "suddenly" at the age of 54, the firm announced in a statement, without giving any further details.

He had been at Lukoil for more than 30 years, and is the latest in a series of top oil and gas executives to have died in sudden circumstances.

Most recently, in October 2023, Lukoil said board chairman Vladimir Nekrasov died of heart failure at the age of 66.

Former top Lukoil executive Alexander Subbotin was found dead in May 2022 after apparently suffering a heart attack, while in September that year, state media reported that chairman Ravil Maganov died after falling from a hospital window in Moscow.
