The ATV tour in Costa Maya starts just a block away from the main port exit and lasts for 1 hour. During this time, your guide will take you to explore the jungle and beaches of Costa Maya, providing interesting information at strategic stops, concluding the tour at our main base.

Following the thrilling ATV experience, we offer complimentary transportation to the beach for a relaxing “beach break.” At this destination, you can indulge in a delightful Mexican lunch featuring chicken or beef fajitas. Enjoy the tranquility of the beach, cool off with two included cold drinks, and take advantage of all available facilities. When you decide to return to the ship, you can do so at your own pace; the taxi costs approximately 4 USD per person and is only a 5-minute ride from the port.

• The beach do not have a life guard and swimming is at your own risk.

How close are you to the Carnival port? How much for 5 people but only 4 ATV I will be riding with my husband December 28 our ship ports at 8:00 and leaves at 5:00

Hello so my family and friends will be on Carnival and be in costa maya and would like to ride the ATVs. how far is the location from the carnival port? and after the ATV tour and beach break how would we get back to the port?

Hi, our main office is 5 minutes away from the port’s exit gate. However we have free transportation from the port to our main office. (You can find us next to the yellow cabs booth under the thatch palapa labelled Tours.) During the beach break the guide usually awaits on you and the ATVs are kept their for your return to our main office or you can be picked up at the beach on the company’s shuttle.

I’m trying to find out . The age limit is started at 18? Trying to find out do y’all have double sitting? If a person doesn’t have a driver’s license because we will be there on Monday.

How long is your actually ride time on the ATV

What’s the activity level….We are a party of four, all experienced ATV riders. We did a similar tour on Cozumel and they let us go at our pace and pretty fast through the terrain. Are we limited to a slow ride through the beach or can we go at a more adventurous pace?

The ATV tour in Costa Maya is different, they are always accompanied by a guide who gives the speed guideline, for security measures, the one in Mahahual is a coastal road with little traffic, the assistance of the guide is required!

For a fun and adventurous way to explore Costa Maya, Mahahual Mexico, take part in the Costa Maya ATV Adventure Tour! This exclusive ATV Tour showcases the beautiful Town of Mahahual, the Costa Maya beaches, and off-beaten tracks in all its glory!

Mahahual Mexico is the ideal location for operating ATVs. Mahahual, once a small beachside fishing village, has very little traffic with sandy roads. The picturesque location and easy operating conditions, make this a fun and safe environment for beginners to experienced riders.

The Costa Maya ATV Excursion begins inside the Port following detailed instructions on operating the powerful 350cc Grizzly ATVs, try on your safety equipment, get acquainted with the ATV’s and you are on your way for an exploration of Mahahual and its beach roads!

The ATV tour is fun for individuals, couples, groups, and families with children 10 years and up. Our powerful ATVs can be driven on your own or with a passenger.

These all-terrain vehicles are semi-automatic and easy to operate, (no clutch). You must be at least 16 years of age to drive your own ATV and a minimum of 18 years of age to take a passenger.

The 2.5hr tour passes through the entire Town of Mahahual, follows the wonderful beach roads approximately 15 miles from the port where you will be able to explore areas not normally visited by the usual tourist.

Ensure to ask your guide to point out the friendly Spider Monkey living at the 1/2 way mark of the Tour amongst the descriptive explanation of the Town and its surroundings by our friendly Guides.

The ATV Tour is fully guided by expert/licensed Guides, all Guides are bi-lingual in English and Spanish to assure comfort, safety, and an understanding of the area.

Following an exciting ride on the ATV Excursion, a soft drink is enjoyed at a selected beach bar along the way where you will be able to relax before the return to the Port. Uncrowded beach, Nohoch Kay is your kind of place.

The Costa Maya ATV excursion offers this tour in small groups therefore, availability is limited.

Hop on your one-person ATV and live the experience of driving through the Mayan jungle at Costa Maya . We’ll take you deep into off-road paths and hidden trails.

Afterward, we’ll take you to the Beach Escape Club located 15 minutes away from Rio Indio . Now it’s time to relax, take a swim in the ocean, admire the postcard views or just lay down at the beach.

Closed-toe shoes are required, water shoes are not accepted. A helmet is provided and mandatory to wear. For safety reasons, pregnant women and guests with back/neck injuries, recent surgeries or heart conditions are not permitted on this excursion. Guests must be 18 years old to consume alcohol and must present a valid photo ID. What to Bring: Beach towel, bathing suit, valid driver’s license and bug repellent. Long pants are recommended. Change of clothes. Cash or credit/debit card for purchases. Good to Know: Presence of seaweed in the Mexican Caribbean Coast is seasonal and could cause limited visibility and be present in the water during the tour. . Please note the Beach Escape is located on the boardwalk of the fisherman’s village which may cause the presence of local vendors. There are no two-passenger ATVs, only single. Return to the port is at leisure. A taxi shuttle service is available every 10 minutes. Guests must anticipate their departure at least 10 minutes before their selected time.

ATV Jungle Excursion and Beach Break in Costa Maya, Mexico

During our cruise of the Western Caribbean on the Norwegian Jewel, we participated in the ATV Jungle Adventure and Beach Break in Costa Maya. It was an excellent choice.

The ATVs are automatic and super easy to navigate. The course starts off straight and simple (to help beginners get acclimated) and then escalates in difficulty. Check out our video!

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcBCapaNRT8] Midway through the ride, we had a water break at a pretty outlook area. Our tour guide Daniel told us a bit about Costa Maya and life in the area. Costa Maya is what Cancun was about 30 years ago. Aside from a shopping center at the port and a few private beaches, it’s quite underdeveloped. That’s a good thing for locals who don’t want to be flooded with tourist yet not so great for the economy. As development moves forward, they’re playing a balancing act, trying to keep a small-town feel while fueling the economy.

Daniel is incredibly kind and helpful so I recommend working with him if you have the option to take the tour.

After the water break we continued the tour. Along the way, one passenger’s ATV broke down. It was a minor hiccup. The assistant tour guide switched ATVs with her and he waited for the repair crew to arrive while we continued the tour. Surprises happen so it’s nice when the crew is organized enough to handle them.

Overall, the ATV excursion lasts for about 45 minutes. There is a straight paved section, a winding sand track, a bumpy section similar to a pump track for bikes, and then an overgrown jungle and winding trail towards the end. That’s where the most photos are taken, so you look all hardcore on your ATV busting through the jungle, hahaa.

There are a few things that you should know to get the most out of your adventure:

• Be sure to wear sunglasses. Aside from blocking the sun, they will keep dust and sand out of your eyes. Oh, and tree branches.
• The little bandanas that Daniel gave us are optional. After rain, the sand doesn’t blow around as much. We didn’t really need to wear them. But I imagine that bandanas are really helpful in drier conditions where kicked-up sand could irritate your nose and throat.
• Wear shorts! Some ads for the ATV ride recommended wearing pants. Those who did were hot and miserable.
• Bring a video recorder like GoPro so that you can make your own videos. The pictures that the tour company took came out blurry and were $16 each. Safeguard your memories and save money by taking your own videos and pictures.

After the ATV ride we were dropped off at a private resort just for cruise members. The service is exceptionally good (the bathroom attendant was like a second mother, haha). The open bar proved to be a much needed relief from the $12 cocktails on the cruise ship. Drink up!

Note: Food orders do take a while (since large groups arrive at once) so don’t wait until you’re famished to order. Order ahead and enjoy the beach while you wait.

I had my college age son, wife and mother along for the excursion and they all had a blast. You have to walk out of the port just a little ways to pick up a cab to the restaurant on the beach. They offered us water and Margaritas while we waited for the cab. Once on the beach Jackie took such great care of us. We made the best tasting salsa and guacomole while drinking unique hibiscus margaritas with rose water. There was a place to get a 30 minute massage on the beach right next to the restaurant and we really recommend getting a massage. It was extra but so worth it. Our group had two senior citizens, 2 middle aged adults and 2 teen girls. I was looking for something the whole group would enjoy and this was perfect! After exiting the cruise area we decided to take taxis (paid by us) to the meeting point, as one of our group members cannot walk very far. We were given cold drinks at the meeting spot (a cute bar/restaurant) and then sent via taxi to the restaurant and beach break area for the excursion. Jackie, the restaurant owner, was fantastic! Everything was set up for salsa and guacamole making at a beautiful shaded spot on the beach. Unlimited drinks were included for the first 2 hours. Our server was delightful and attentive. We all enjoyed making and consuming the salsa and guacamole. After we made the food, we got a lesson in salsa dancing right on the road between the restaurant and beach. The food was not good to my taste and you can only choose one item off of the menu per person(unlimited snacks tho). The drinks are unlimited and were pretty good disappointed I didn't even get a nice buzz going (Im a big vato). Also too many people walking up to you trying to sell merchandise probably once every 10 min got annoying real quick. The area where you sit and rest is not beach club vibes it's definitely hood. I would recommend this place but it's not for everyone I'm just trying to be as honest as possible that way you won't be surprised. First of all, what upset us is that there was NO WATER TO FLUSH THE TOILET OR WATER TO WASH YOUR HANDS. Many of us complained about this. When we got there.. they greeted us with total open arms. Treated us like family. Had the most awesome time making Mocaheta Salsa..My Favorite and Guacamole to boot. Well. I freaked them out with adding 4 serranos peppers to my salsa, and it was too hot for them!! Lol. They were so accommodating for us. Had my wife, and my older sister and 84 year old mother who are 1st time cruisers, and we all had the time of our lives.. talking with everyone, learning Spanish and sharing our world with them.
