How to Choose the Right Size and Capacity for Your Trailer Tongue Box

Trailer tongue boxes are an essential accessory for any trailer owner. They provide a secure storage solution for tools, equipment, and other items you may need while on the road. Choosing the right size and capacity for your trailer tongue box is critical to ensure it fits your needs and requirements. Here are some factors to consider when selecting the right size and capacity for your trailer tongue box:

1. Trailer Size: Trailer size is crucial in determining the right size and capacity for your trailer tongue box. A larger trailer will require a larger box to accommodate all the necessary tools and equipment.

2. Storage Needs: Consider what items you need to store in your trailer tongue box. If you have larger tools or equipment, you may need a larger box to accommodate them.

3. Weight Capacity: The weight capacity of your trailer tongue box is also an important consideration. You should ensure that the weight of the box and its contents do not exceed the maximum weight capacity of your trailer.

4. Material: Trailer tongue boxes are typically made from aluminum or steel. Aluminum boxes are lightweight and durable, while steel boxes are heavier but more robust.

5. Security: Consider the security features of the trailer tongue box, such as locks or latches, to ensure that your tools and equipment are safe and secure while on the road.

When choosing the right size and capacity for your trailer tongue box, it is essential to consider all these factors to make an informed decision that meets your needs.

What are the Best Features to Look for in a Small Trailer Tongue Box?

When it comes to small trailer tongue boxes, there are several features that can make a big difference in terms of functionality and convenience. Here are some of the best features to look for:

1. Size: The size of the box should be appropriate for your needs. It should be large enough to hold all the items you need to store but not so large that it becomes cumbersome or takes up too much space on your trailer tongue.

2. Material: The material of the box is also important. Look for a box made from durable materials like aluminum or steel that can withstand the elements and resist rust and corrosion.

3. Security: A good trailer tongue box should also be secure, with a locking mechanism that prevents unauthorized access. This is especially important if you plan to store valuable items in the box.

4. Weatherproofing: Since the box will be exposed to the elements, it’s important to choose one that is weatherproof and can keep your items dry and protected from rain, snow, and other weather conditions.

5. Ease of installation: Finally, look for a trailer tongue box that is easy to install and can be securely attached to your trailer tongue without any hassle.

In summary, when looking for a small trailer tongue box, consider its size, material, security features, weatherproofing, and ease of installation.

How to Install a Small Trailer Tongue Box

Installing a small trailer tongue box can be a great way to add storage space to your trailer. Here are the steps to install a small trailer tongue box:

2. Drill holes: Once you have decided on the location, drill holes in the trailer tongue where you want to attach the box. Make sure that the holes are aligned with the mounting holes on the box.

3. Attach the box: After drilling the holes, place the box on the tongue and align it with the holes. Insert bolts through the mounting holes and tighten them using nuts and washers.

4. Secure the box: Once you have attached the box, make sure that it is securely fastened to the tongue. You can use additional bolts or straps for added security.

5. Test it out: Finally, test out your new trailer tongue box by loading it up with your gear and hitting the road.

Product Reviews:

Pricey but well-built. I like that it has a locking mechanism. Pricey but well-built and suited my purposes. I like that it has a locking mechanism. The latch can be adjusted so that it doesn’t rattle. There is preinstalled weather stripping. I mounted it to a cargo carrier by drilling holes in the bottom and using large washers/nuts with the bolts coming up from below. So far, so good.

Nice size for a smaller RV Tongue Sturdy. Well built. Good seals. For a smaller RV where you are worried about Tongue weight, there is just enough space for Leveling Blocks and a few assorted tools. Used round U-bolts (separate item, this does not come with attaching hardware) to attach to the trailer.

Product Reviews.

Overall it is good for what I need. Because it mounts to the rails of the trailer tongue with four bolts, my concern is that the plastic may split overtime at the attachment locations. I added 1/2″ plywood for support.

I added this to the frame on the front of my trailer to act as a catch-all for the many different things needed while camping – extension cords, chocks, and fire equipment. I had to weld a bracket so it would work for my situation, but if your trailer has appropriate cross-members, this may not be needed. The box is lightweight, contains screws and washers for mounting, and has been watertight for me. I added plywood to the base of the box for increased durability, but it is unnecessary. I also added hardware to ensure my trailer was perfectly stable. It has been fantastic for me. Some people say that the locking clasp is cheap because it is riveted onto the plastic. However, if necessary, you could drill out the rivets and install screws/bolts. My lock will keep honest people out; however, it is still plastic if someone wants to get into the box! It does what it’s intended to, and that is to keep my items clean and dry while camping.

This box is well made, but the deck plate is very thin. I cut a plywood bottom for the box, as others recommended. Very expensive for what it is. I’ve had much heavier plate boxes for half the cost. I like it but wish it was made from a heavier plate and half the cost.

It’s well-built. The lid is more reinforced than the rest of the box, but I understand why. I would have preferred the whole box to be the same thickness. The hydraulics and lock etc., work and are good quality also. This is a good product, and I would buy it again. I have had this since late May. It still looks great with no fading or other problems. This sits out in the sun and elements each day. It is mounted on a 10′ aluminum ATV trailer. I STILL would buy another.

travel trailer a frame storage

I bought this item knowing the lid does not open 90 degrees. This is a real bummer cause the box is pretty nice. The Aluminum is a little thin but sturdy. The locking mech is well made too. Very tight and precise. The self-opening gas cylinders are fantastic too. However, since the box lid does not open 90 degrees, and I found a small dent on the rear, I will return it. You could modify it to have the lid open 90 degrees, but other trailer tongue boxes have lids that open 90 degrees.

This toolbox fits perfectly on the tongue of my camper, and it turned out to be much bigger than expected, which is excellent! The metal it’s fabricated from is on the thin side (it came dented during shipping), but I feel it’s sturdy enough for the job. I’m not keen that the hinge is connected to the box with rivets. The rivets are starting to loosen; it’s something I can fix, but overall I am happy with my purchase!

Good quality product. I was looking for a larger storage box that would hold the gas bottle and battery and more space for tools and accessories for my T@G XL camper. Arrived ahead of schedule and was doubled-boxed for protection and also matched the diamond pattern of the front guard trim. Still need to add a couple of vents and grommet holes for the battery, solar wiring, and gas line, but I am pleased with the product and my decision to purchase it.

I should have purchased this box from the beginning. Trying to be cheap, I originally purchased a trailer tongue box from Harbor Freight. While it was made good, it was super heavy. I have a terrible shoulder, and it simply made the tongue of my Big Tex trailer too heavy to lift.

The box is built pretty well, but the first trip I made on a gravel road got all my stuff inside all dirty. I may need to find a way to upgrade the seal for the cover.

I’m torn. First of all, it is lightweight, and I appreciate that since it’s now mounted to the tongue of my 24′ aluminum race trailer… however, the locking mechanism is chancy at best, and there is no way I trust leaving anything locked in there with the latch – lock set up. Most def would benefit from an aftermarket lock setup. The price seems outrageous for what showed up.

I quickly discovered I needed a tool storage box mounted on the tongue for all accessories traveling with a trailer. I ordered this box from Amazon because the dimensions seemed to be such that it would fit the trailer tongue very well. When it arrived, and I had the chance to install it, the tongue fit was perfect. The only downside is that I wished they had made the box thicker; it seems to be a bit “lightweight” as far as thickness.

Perfectly holds four lifevests, an 8lb anchor, rope, canoe dolly, several dry bags, and towing and hitch tools. Very happy with this purchase. Lighter than metal boxes and much cheaper. I can’t speak to the durability yet, but it’s been through 3 camping trips this year without a scratch.

A-Frame Trailer (the Truth About Them)

Published on April 1st, 2020 by Charles Joseph

If you’ve ever come across a camping trailer that’s shaped like an Army private first class insignia with wheels, you’re looking at an A-frame camper trailer. In civilian speak, this folding camper has a pointed roof like the letter A and a wide base that may have rounded corners at the bottom. Unlike its cousin, the soft-shell pop-up trailer, it has hard walls all around.

We’re going to examine these little known campers in this article. We’ll see where the concept of them originated, their benefits in today’s camping world, and how easy it is to set them up. Throughout our journey, we’ll show you some of the more popular brands that are made through independent and big-name manufacturers.

The History of the A-Frame Camper

The concept of the A-frame collapsible travel trailer isn’t a new one. It dates back to the 1970s when Ralph Tait started tinkering in his garage. After a few weeks, this Oregonian built a lightweight hardshell expandable camper that could be towed by almost any vehicle . As word spread about his new design, orders came in faster than he could build them.

With business on the rise, the Tait family decided to move to Pennsylvania to chase their American dream by opening up their first factory. While two of Ralph’s sons helped with building the A-frame pop up campers, the third would hitch one up to the family station wagon to sell throughout the country. Once sold, he’d come back, hitch up another, and do it again.

In 1984, ALiner was officially established as a business by the Tait family. Due to their efforts, this independent company has continued to be one of the leading camper brands on the market. In 2007, the family retired but the legacy continues.

A great example of the original model is the current Scout ALiner camper. This 15-foot, 1,395 pounds unloaded vehicle weight (UVW) entry-level A-frame is a great choice for those that want to get back to basics. Something as small as a Kia Sorento would be a great tow vehicle for this small pop up camper.

Both the rear sofa and front dinette fold down for sleeping space. There’s plenty of storage space in the cabinets that make up the mid-coach. For off-grid camping, the coach comes with a solar prewire port.

If you want a more comprehensive camping experience, you can opt for the park package that includes a sink, refrigerator, and city water hook up. To keep things comfortable, a side-mounted 6,000 BTU air conditioner can be factory installed. If you want to further your off-road adventure, this package upgrades the tires and suspension.

The Scout appeals to those that want a lightweight basic camper trailer that has a lot of storage and sleeping space. It’s budget-friendly with a price lower than $9,000. No matter how basic or upgraded you go, the protective diamond plate on the front and back will protect your camper from road debris and other hazards.

Breaking Down These Expandables

Appearances can be deceiving. When people look at them, some A-frame reviews mention that they are too small and you wouldn’t be able to stand up straight in them. Others may think that their construction would be flimsy and are prone to leak.

The truth of the matter is they are built with the same materials most travel trailers are constructed from. The side walls are laminated and bonded with insulation. A-frames are built to resist weather and wind in the warmer seasons.

Standard A-frames are big enough where you can stand up straight in most of the walking area. When you open the door, you’ll see that that floor is deep inside the base of the trailer. It’s only at the far ends that you have to bend down, but this is where sitting or bed furniture is located.

Bigger A-frames, like the Flagstaff T21DMHW, have added ceiling flaps that fold up to give more headspace. These dormers flatten out the A-frame camper interior ceilings to make it easier to function in the front or back of the RV. They also have windows to add light and more ventilation.

On this particular Flagstaff model, the front dormer allows those inside more headroom to move around in the kitchen and wet bath area. A popular feature of this model is the solid walls that fit in place around the wet bath. Campers can feel comfortable taking care of their morning routine with more than just a shower curtain around them.

When you check out Flagstaff A-frame reviews concerning this model, you’ll find that its storage space is best in its category. You’ll have storage bays in the front and rear of the camper that has sliding trays to make things easily reachable. The interior has cabinetry and strategic storage under the bed as well.

Towing this 2,700-pound UVW is a breeze for something like a Dodge Caravan. This 20.10 foot long A-frame camper with a bathroom will feel very roomy for two people on a rainy day. You can find new units between $15,000-$18,000

Setting up an A-Frame

Another misnomer pertaining to A-frame hard wall pop-ups deals with how complicated the set up is. Generally, it’s as simple as moving four walls. As you’ll see in the instructional video above, you start with the roof panels. They are either spring-loaded, hydraulic assisted, or position into place with an electric lift system.

To lift the roof into place, there’s a handle that you use to move the rear panel up. This glides the front roof panel up smoothly. It doesn’t take much effort to do this.

To put the side walls up, you open the trailer door, step in, and hinge the door side wall up first. As it goes up, you’ll fit through the upper door opening. Once in place, lock the wall.

For the back wall, you lift that into place and lock it. You finish up with the fine detail of the furniture and shore connections. Complete setup time should take approximately 20 minutes.

Setting up the Dormer

If you have a dormer on your hard wall pop up, like the Rockwood A213HW, the extra step is to lift it up, and set the side pieces into place. If you find a reason not to open up the dormer, this won’t affect the integrity of the coach. You’re still watertight and insulated.

Rockwood does two great things with their dormer. The first is that their dormer models have electric lifts on the main roof. The second is that they have velcro on the side dormer flaps. This doesn’t hold them in place, but it does hold them up long enough to allow you to use both your hands to lock the side flaps.

Another great feature of the Rockwood A213HW is the two twin beds. This over 20 foot RV comes with a connecting panel and cushions to make the bed into a king. The dinette folds out for an overnight guest.

This Rockwood shows up on many of the industry’s best hard side pop up camper lists. It sells for under $20,000 and weighs in at 2,670 pounds UVW. Your GMC Acadia will have enough power for all of you and your gear, as you head out on your camping adventure.

Off-Road Potentials

A-frames are a great choice if you’re looking for a lightweight camper trailer to take off-road. With their insulated hard walls they keep the interior comfortable in most climates. Many come with furnaces with high ratings. You can choose the option of a factory-installed air conditioner.

The Chalet Arrowhead is apart of their 15-foot Classic line up. This Oregon based company installs a 16,000 BTU furnace and a 3-speed exhaust fan in the ceiling. You can also choose to have an 8,000 BTU air conditioner with a remote.

Their Trail Boss Package upgrades their A-frame to handle all kinds of terrain. These components include:

  • A 4-inch raised suspension
  • 14-inch off-road tires and wheels
  • Upgraded heavy duty stabilizer jacks
  • Dual entry steps for the added height

To keep the essentials going on your off-road excursion, you can hook into the solar prewire port, with your own or purchase their 80-watt folding panel with the 10 amp controller. Chalet installs a 15-gallon freshwater tank as standard equipment. For hot water, they have an optional six-gallon water heater and an exterior shower.

To enjoy camping, you need more than the essentials. You can bring your favorite music outside with their optional outdoor speakers that connect to the stereo system inside. While you’re outside, you can also grill up your favorite meals on the barbecue that connects to the sidewall and the propane quick-connector.

The Arrowhead has a dry weight of 1,585 pounds. It sleeps up to three people and measures 15.6 feet in length. Using a tow vehicle like a Jeep Wrangler will get you where you want to go without any power problems.

Choosing an A-Frame Over a Pop-Up

A-frame RV

A-frames are recommended more for couples than for families. There are models for families of four, but most work best for groups of two or three. Their insulating properties are better than softshell pop-ups.

If you are looking at the weight differences, softshell pop-ups and A-frames have similar weights. Any vehicle that can tow a traditional pop-up, can tow an A-frame. This is due to the lightweight materials the A-frames are built from.

Folded sizes are generally the same. The longest traditional pop-up and A-frame can measure around 20 feet in length. Storing them in your home’s garage or your rented storage unit shouldn’t be a problem.

You can have a more comfortable camping experience when it comes to weather and temperatures in an A-frame. Since they are better insulated, using them in early spring or late fall with the climate control features wouldn’t be much of a problem. If you’re thinking of cold weather camping or winter camping, A-frames won’t be able to handle those conditions.

If you’re concerned about the quality of the mechanisms, remember, A-frames and traditional pop-ups were created in the 1970s, so their technologies are the same age. Their hinges, levers, and other components are built the best manufacturers in the industry. As long as you keep up on your preventive maintenance, you can keep any surprises down to a minimum.

What are A Frame Travel Trailers?

What are A Frame Travel Trailers?

  • BEGINNERS GUIDE

G. Yoganand

Do you find yourself interested in camping or owning a camper trailer, but your truck/car’s towing capacity is way below a conventional camper trailer?

If this sounds like you, then you need an A-frame camper trailer . Read on to find out how these trailers can make the life of a hobby camper much more wholesome.

A-frame campers are not a recent invention but have undergone a lot of evolution into what it is today. Let’s take a quick into the essentials.

What is an A-frame Camper Trailer?

As the name suggests, this is a trailer that resembles the letter ’ once assembled.

Most modern A-frames rarely exceed 2000 pounds and come in various styles and designs.

Despite the small weight, these campers are really spacious and organized once assembled. You could make a tiny home out of the trailer.

Whichever your specific camping need, be sure there is an A-frame ideal for you. Some can sleep up to four persons, while others feature facilities such as wet baths and kitchenettes.

What sets A-frame camper Trailers apart from other trailers?

Looking at RVs in general, there is a considerable difference between the A-frame trailers and the rest of the trailers. The fundamental difference is the construction which gives it the A shape. The trailer usually has a fold-down roof panel. When assembling, these panels pop up to form a peaked shape resembling the letter .’

The one RV that resembles an A-frame to some considerable measure is the pop-up trailer. You still wouldn’t confuse the pop-up with an A-frame.

Unlike the A-shape, the pop-up trailer pops into a cube-shaped structure once assembled. The roof rises, and the two sides fold out to form the box shape. Obviously, this setup has more space than the A-frame trailer.

Also, a pop-up trailer has canvas sides, while the A-frame trailers have an all-hard surface. The design of an A-frame trailer allows for further insulation of the hard sides to suit the camper to cold climates. The canvas-sided pop-ups, on the other hand, can only do so good in warmer climates.

How much do A-frame Travel Trailers cost?

A-frames aren’t just like the ordinary trailers- why?

Look at the prices!

On average, a new A-frame can cost you anywhere between $12000 and $30000. Surprisingly, you’ll hardly find any A-frame for less than $12000. A decent used A-frame should cost you up to $16000. From the figures, it’s clear that these camper trailers retain their value, although they are not motorized.

How much do A-frame Travel Trailers weigh?

We mentioned earlier that A-frame campers are lightweight. Putting it in figures, we are talking about between 1800 and 3800 pounds. The average A-frame will weigh slightly under 2000 pounds.

Due to their lightweight nature, you can tow an A-frame with your family car! This should call for a bit of celebration for daily drivers who love camping- you do not have to break the bank to buy a powerful truck.

However, don’t let the excitement delude you into thinking any car can do. It’s best to check your car’s towing capacity from the supplier’s manual. If you do not have a manual, you could use the VIN number to check your vehicle’s towing capacity online.

Another thing you should be aware of is that the indicated A-frame weight is usually the dry weight, without the essentials to a camper. This means you need to factor in all the load you put in that camper before comparing the total figure with your car’s towing capacity.

How big’ are A-frames?

This is a subjective question. The size and storage capacity depends on the need s of the user and the reason you chose the A-frame in the first place. Here are a few key things to point out to the average size of the trailer

Most A-frames are between 16 and 20 feet long and as wide as your car. Once set up, the length extends up to 26 feet. The resulting space is enough to house two beds and several other facilities. A small family could find an A-frame travel trailer as an ideal option.

The average A-frame is designed to suit a couple, i.e., two people. If you wish to travel as a group of up to four, you could use the larger-sized types.

STORAGE REQUIREMENTS

Just like the pop-ups, A-frames easily fold down a compact size to let you store it in your home garage.

Setup and storage requirements

The average A-frame travel trailer is relatively easy to set up. Basically, the flat rigid panels rise to form the A-shape, and you just have to lock them in place.

Due to their small size when folded, these travel trailers can occupy your basement garage, or you could store them in a dedicated shed.

You must store the trailer away from the elements whenever not in use. It will not only serve you for longer but will still preserve their resale value. So how do these camping trailers depreciate? Let’s see.

How much do A-frames depreciate over time?

As mentioned above, if you store your A-frame away from the elements, you slow down the depreciation. However, you should expect a 20% drop in the initial value within the first three years of buying it.

The premium A-frames will reduce their original value to half within six years or so, while the cheaper ones are more likely to hold their value.

What’s the average lifespan of an A-frame?

The average life expectancy of an A-frame trailer is 10 years. This period is not fixed but rather depends on how you use the trailer. Some users may get up to twice that usage time, while others may have to get a new trailer in less than 10 years.

A-frames are made of either aluminum or rigid fiberglass. Since these materials have their unique advantages in different climates, one can only be better in a given environment. However, due to chemical stability, fiberglass should last longer than aluminum.

A-frame travel trailer maintenance

An A-frame is easier to clean than a pop-up travel trailer. This is because of the rigid roof panels that can be easily wiped clean. Your A-frame will serve you best if you also do the following:

  • Check and replace worn-out roof seals and seams
  • Check and adjust the trailer’s tire pressure
  • Tighten the wheel lug nuts
  • Check to ensure the wastewater system is working fine
  • Check electrical connections are okay
  • Clean the awning particularly, regularly
  • Replace the filters
  • Inspect, clean, and treat the trailer’s seals

What features and amenities do A-frame travel trailers have?

The small and compact size may be deceiving regarding what an A-frame travel trailer can pack. If you think the camper is insufficient, check out the following features and optional upgrades, as well as customizations that an A-frame can have:

  • A sink with an electric pump powered tap
  • An electric water heater
  • A mobile toilet
  • Shower (either internal or external)
  • A stovetop and microwave oven
  • A fridge/cooler
  • Bluetooth surround speakers
  • USB outlets
  • Mobile phone signal amplifier
  • Interior LED lights
  • Battery bank
  • Larger freshwater tank
  • Ventilation fan
  • Roof-mounted solar panel
  • Propane tank(s)

Most A frame campers do not include air conditioner but one can get a portable AC or alternatively also go for a fan to keep it cool.

High-end features are now available in modern A-frames, with some featuring portable toilets and showers. Although these are not really necessary, they can make a massive difference if you often do camp and travel.

The upside and the downside of an A-frame travel trailer

Pretty much like every other thing, A-frames have their advantages and disadvantages when compared to other travel trailers. We explore the pros and cons next.

1. Hard exterior panels

Compared to other pop-up style campers or a basic tent, the hard surface provides better protection against the elements.

The side panels are also easier to insulate, making them ideal for small families who travel in colder climates. The bonus is that the sloping roof discourages snow build-up so that you do not have to remove the snow manually.

2. Lightweight

A-frames are usually made of aluminum or fiberglass. These materials have all been applied in the aerospace industry due to their low weight to strength ratio.

When folded down, the trailer stands a few feet tall. The air resistance is thus minimized, giving you better fuel mileage. The reduced trailer size is even easier to tow around.

3. Easy storage

With an A-frame, you do not need to rent out parking space. Once folded, the trailer can utilize smaller storage space, the average size of your garage. If the garage is designated for your car, you’ll still save a lot by making a backyard shed to house the trailer.

4. Low profile

When towing the trailer, you fold it down to a low height. This gives you some space above the trailer where you can carry your kayak or bike or anything that can fit on a car roof rack. The low profile gives you more room to carry your gear.

5. Easy assembly

Because the roof panels require to be lifted when setting up, A-frame trailers come with gas-assisted lifts to raise the panels. Even a total camping noob will have the camper ready in not more than 10 minutes.

6. Slow depreciation

We saw earlier that A-frames are better at retaining value than motorized campers. Generally, the superior storage options for these trailers allow them to stay off the elements whenever stored.

1. Not suitable for larger families

Due to their size, A-frames are only good with smaller families of up to four people.

2. No shelves

The basic design of A-frames doesn’t allow a high-shelving feature. You’re left with the exterior compartments to carry all your gear.

3. Not ideal for rad trips

Due to their small size, A-frames may not have the necessary amenities to suit long road trips.

4. Limited power options

A basic A-frame doesn’t have any electrical functionality. The only way is to carry a generator or invest in a battery bank and a solar panel.

5. No awning

Unlike most other campers, the A-frame isn’t designed to offer a shade under the trailer. You may need to pack a canopy tent for that purpose.

6. Not much comfort

The design of an A-frame entails a table that can be converted into a bed. While this is a great dual function, it doesn’t result in the best sleeping experience.

Best A-frame campers

Are you now looking forward to owning an A-frame camper? Here are a few models you can choose from:

Coachmen clipper

This is one of the high-end A-frame campers measuring 20 feet long and weighing 3757 pounds. It is an ideal one for four people, with a dinette table that converts into a bed.

Other features in this camper include a kitchen and a fridge to make your trip more enjoyable. The exterior compartments are powered by a quick-release mechanism, allowing you to set everything up really fast.

Jayco (J series)

If you’re more attracted to a camper you can easily set up, the Jayco J series offers you that and more. Since there are several models, the dry weight also varies.

Jayco campers come with a wet bath, a kitchenette, and full-size beds. A microwave is also provided, along with a dining table and an outdoor shower. The table is removable, meaning you can use it outside the camper.

A-liner campers

A-liner has 11 models, all of which have certain similar features. All the models come with fold-out beds and a pop-up dormer. A sleeper sofa is available in some models, while a sink and a toilet are available in all models.

One striking feature is the outdoor pullout kitchenette that allows you to grill meat. An outdoor bathroom is also included in some models. All the models weigh under 2000 pounds making it ideal for towing with even an SUV.

Forest River

Forest River produces popular models like Rockwood and Flagstaff. These two designs are pretty similar, and both weigh 2014 pounds. The most outstanding features in the two models include a microwave, a 3-way refrigerator, USB outlets, a mobile toilet, and a TV outlet.

On the outside, speakers and propane tanks make this camper an excellent entertainment hub in the wild.

A-frame travel trailers are an ideal camping option for beginners and anyone looking to experience the essential camping experience. We’ve seen some high-end choices that make the experience much more comfortable and probably memorable. Should you need to buy an A-frame camper, you now understand the advantages and disadvantages, as well as a few models to check out first.

Happy camping.

10 Best A-Frame Trailers of 2022

a frame trailer

A-frame trailers are also known as a type of pop-up camper that is excellent for compact traveling. Their unique small size and luxury feel allow you to have a comfortable and cozy camping experience. With more and more advancements in trailers being made each year, it can be hard to find which make and model are the best.

Luckily, we’ve taken the time to research for you and present the best A-frame trailers. Below, we’ve listed the ten best A-frame trailers of 2021. We’ll also cover how to choose the best option for your needs.

Our Camper Selection Criteria

Here’s what we considered when rounding up the best A-frame campers.

Overall space: How much space is there to stretch out? Ones that have multiple beds or even convertible areas tend to be the better brands. However, we also try to compare the room in ratio to how many people can sleep there. Many newer camper brands sleep four or more people, with room for entertaining during the day.

Bathroom: What if you want modern commodities such as a shower? Even though A-frame campers are designed to be small, they can still fit in bathrooms. However, the type of bathroom ranges from model to model. We look for specific models that offer a stall shower, toilet, and have large water tanks.

Exterior: If a camper includes aluminum wheels, lightweight frames, and fiberglass, we prioritize them. These are all features that tend to make the vehicle more durable and weatherproof. We also look for corrosion-resistant material and extra weatherproof protection. Heavy-duty campers also include components for bumper protection, extra-thick corrosion-resistant material, and much more.

Capacity: The capacity of a camper needs to be two or more. We prioritize trailers that give ample space for up to four people. However, we also look at the floorplans to see how much space there is between furniture. A good camper will have enough space to sit enough people comfortably during the day and sleep during the night.

Weight: Due to many of the A-frame campers having more ‘modern’ material. These types of trailers are becoming more popular due to modern style furniture. Frameworks made from aluminum are generally required due to high durability and affordability. Also, besides the XL or large Aliner trailers, most tend to weigh under 3,500 lbs.

Benefits of an A-Frame Camper

Affordable. An A-Frame Camper is more affordable than a full-on trailer, which could run you well over $20,000. Instead, an A-Frame only costs around $11,000 to $20,000. Unless you want to have a custom build, it may run slightly higher in price.

Lightweight. Most A-Frame campers are lightweight and are pullable by small SUVs. The typical weight of most A-Frame campers is anywhere between 1,800 to 3,800 lbs. However, the weight changes based on what type of appliances, flooring, and materials the trailer is crafted from. If the camper goes over 3,000 lbs, then chances are a smaller SUV can’t pull it.

Extra Space. Unlike the alternative RV homes, an A-Frame provides a little bit of extra space and storage. The unique A-frame design provides higher ceilings and allows you to store things up top. A-Frame camper awning will also offer you additional storage from indoors and outdoors.

Versatility. Regular sized RVs take up a lot of space, which is why you won’t be able to explore deeper within the woods. With an A-frame camper, you can fit into smaller spaces and don’t take up as much room. Additionally, you can always unhook the trailer when you want to use your vehicle and explore off-road.

Convenient. Another benefit of an A-frame camper is that you can access storage from inside and outside. Additionally, some bathrooms can even be entered through both indoors and out. Popular A-frame camper brands include Aliner, Chalet, and even Flagstaff.

Storage Space. The storage space is where it shines. With extra overhead space, you’re able to store more of your possessions. If you plan to go camping, outdoor storage is also a huge plus. A-frame camper manufacturers have worked hard to provide you space in multiple areas. This includes the interior and exterior storage units.

Should You Buy an A-Frame Camper?

When it comes to knowing if an A-frame camper is right for you, there are a few considerations you may have to keep in mind. One limitation of an A-frame camper is that it can’t accommodate more than a few people.

Are You Traveling with A Crew?

If you’re planning on going on the road with more than four people, then we recommend a full-sized RV. A-frame campers have a capacity that can support up to four people. However, this doesn’t always mean that it can fit four people comfortably. A-frame campers are excellent for short-term trips or outdoorsmen, but not for a long-term living solution.

What Type of Floorplan Do You Want?

Another consideration to keep in mind is that most furniture in an A-frame camper is built-in. You have many options for floor-plans and can customize. However, you may not enjoy precisely how the trailer is styled. Luckily, more and more companies are providing optional installments to help make the camper more customizable.

What Amenities Do You Need?

Other amenities that may not be built-in in the camper are bathrooms . Our list prioritized some models with bathrooms, but most A-frame campers don’t always have them. However, newer models come with TVs, outlets, and even stereo systems. So, you’ll have to pick carefully and find a camper that suits your needs.

Where Are You Headed?

An A-frame camper may be the right solution for you if you’re looking for a trailer that can be pulled by a smaller vehicle. With most A-frame camper models, they generally weigh underneath 3,000 pounds. Many vehicles, such as a standard size SUV or a Ford Explorer, can tow up to 5,000 pounds.

Additionally, they allow you to travel to more remote locations where you usually couldn’t take a full motorhome. This will enable you to go off-road and still enjoy some of the modern amenities a home would provide you.

Lastly, they are more affordable than other types of trailers. For example, on average, a 5th wheel or motorhome costs around $100,000 depending on the features. If you’re looking for a more affordable model, A-frame campers start at just $10,000.

Q. What is an A-Frame Camper?

  • An A-frame camper is a type of trailer designed to pop-up and provide more living space. The materials are made from lightweight, rigid walls, which are both durable and weatherproof. As for design, they are built similar to other compact trailers. The main difference is that they are light enough for most medium to large vehicles to tow.

Q. What is the best A-frame camper?

  • The best A-frame campers tend to be made by specific companies. For example, we’ve included some well-known brands that provide quality campers. Some of them include Aliner, Jay Series, Flagstaff, and Chalet. However, we believe you should be more focused on the camper’s quality versus the name brands.

Q. Are frame campers any good?

  • A-frame campers are generally suitable for either individuals or a couple. However, they are not ideal for families. They tend to lack floor space and can become crowded with over two people. That being said, some A-frame campers are designed to hold more individuals. One example is the XL version, which can support up to seven people. Just keep in mind that it can ‘support’ seven people but may not do so ‘comfortably.’

Q. What is the largest A-frame camper?

  • One brand that tends to outdo themselves with creating extra-large campers is Aliner. They feature nine different A-frame campers that come in large sizes. The largest model spans over 18-feet long and includes multiple floor plans.

Another excellent brand is Chalet’s XL line. They feature multiple XL A-frame campers that span up to 18.7 feet. Not only that, but these campers are designed to be customizable and newer versions are continually being developed. You can’t do much better for the affordability and average weight of around 3,500 lbs.

Q. How much does an A-frame trailer weigh?

  • An A-frame camper generally weighs between 1,200 to 2,300 lbs. However, there are many brands of trailers that go beyond that. You can typically find A-frame campers ranging from 1,000 lbs to 3,500 lbs depending on the furniture and materials used.

We recommend that you don’t go anything over 3,000 lbs. Once you hit over that amount, your vehicle will begin to have trouble towing it. The more extensive options are always tempting, but unfortunately, they add additional weight.

Everything A-Frame Campers And Six Good Brands To Choose From

By Kelly Beasley

An A-frame camper is a unique type and style of travel trailer.

Ever go camping and see a trailer shaped like a capital 'A?' That's an A-frame.

They exist, and you might be interested in getting one because they have a few unique benefits that most traditional travel trailers lack.

So if you want to learn more about these uniquely styled pop-up campers and figure out they are right for you, read on.

What Is An A-Frame Camper?

An A-frame camper is a pop-up trailer shaped like a big 'A' on the exterior when opened into living mode.

It 'pops up' when you want to use it and is much smaller when it's closed for storage or towing.

A-frames often comes with most amenities of a regular (non pop-up) travel trailer, like a microwave, sink, and sometimes even a bathroom or just a cassette toilet .

They can be powered like a travel trailer using the 30-amp plug, but if you want to go off-grid, you'll need solar or a generator to recharge your house batteries.

An A-frame pop up trailer is an excellent choice for weekend camping excursions.

How Much Do A-Frame Campers Cost?

A-frame pop up campers range in price from $11,000 to $35,000 new.

However, you can find them for less if used.

Currently (2022), the pop up A-frame camper is in demand because it is small and compact, so used prices are still on the higher side.

This goes for all RVs at the moment.

Positives Of A-Frame Campers

There are positives and negatives to anything we encounter in life.

An A-frame RV has both as well.

Let's look at what you may like and may not like about these popular campers.

Boondocking Friendly

An A-frame travel trailer is not going to be more than about 20 feet long, making these campers easy to take off-road.

The longer the trailer, the harder it is to get it in certain places.

They are also light, so there is less chance of getting stuck in the mud.

More Protection Than Canvas-Walled Pop-Ups

Most pop-ups have canvas walls.

Most popup A-frame campers come with hard walls and no canvas.

Canvas doesn't protect you from bears and offers zero sound barrier.

Most Are Lightweight

Again, an A-frame pop-up camper doesn't weigh much compared to most traditional travel trailers.

There's not much to them as they are pretty short.

Most weigh under 2,200 pounds, meaning you can tow with many more vehicle choices than you can with something heavier.

Compact/Easy To Fit Into A Garage

When stored or in tow mode, these trailers are MUCH shorter than a regular trailer.

You'll get better gas mileage, and it's easier to tow since you can see behind you, and you can fit most pop-up A-frame trailers into a decent-sized garage or driveway.

No storage fees!

Negatives Of An A-Frame Camper

Nothing has ONLY positives, so here are a few downsides of having an A-frame camper trailer.

Leaks Are Common

There are many places for water entry with these trailers as there are so many seams.

They may leak less than pop ups with canvas, but they still have the RV problem of having leaks that can be hard to find.

Best For Weekend Getaways

This may not be the type of recreational vehicle you want to spend a ton of time in. This is especially true if you want to live in one full-time and travel because t here's a bit more setup and breakdown than a 'normal' RV.

(Learn what to look for in a trailer to live in .)

RV sewer tanks aren't very big, and many don't have a bathroom, we could go on.

Thin Mattress-Can't Go Thick

With pop-ups, you must watch where you put things before you travel.

They can't go or be above the 'line' where the top stuff folds in. Or else the camper won't fold correctly.

This might mean you cannot get a super thick mattress to replace the icky one that might have come with your A-frame (or an RV mattress topper might not fit).

The mattress could be as thin as it is because it won't fit otherwise (don't forget to factor in the thickness of your travel trailer bedding ).

Measure well before you order a pop up camper mattress replacement !

OR, you may have only a dinette with cushions that fold down to become the 'mattress' and you can't replace it if you ever want to use the dinette.

Small Interior

A small A-frame RV trailer doesn't have much room inside.

It's the nature of the beast; pop-ups are fairly small campers.

Therefore, you can't fit a whole bunch of people comfortably.

If you have a family bigger than four, or even three, you might have to look elsewhere for a family camper.

Things To Consider Before Purchasing

As with any pop-up camper, you must do some soul searching to figure out if a triangle camping trailer works for you.

  • Know how you'll mostly camp. Boondocking? Campgrounds?
  • If so, are the tanks big enough to sustain how long you want to camp?
  • Will you need a kitchenette?
  • Will you be mostly in campgrounds? If so, can you back up a trailer with confidence?
  • If you're not confident, do you only need to find campgrounds with a pull-through spot?
  • Is there enough room inside for the whole family?
  • Can it fit in your driveway? Would your HOA allow that?
  • Do you need a rear receiver for a bike rack?

As you can see, there's a lot to consider.

Try to think of as much as possible before you decide to buy one.

How Big Are A-Frame Trailers?

An a frame camping trailer is usually 20 feet long or less.

The box (living area) size is even shorter.

Typically, when a trailer states "X" length, it includes the tongue of the trailer.

How Much Does An A-Frame Camper Weigh?

A small A-frame camper weighs, on average, about 1,900 pounds.

A large A-frame camper weighs, on average, about 2,500 pounds.

Many are light enough to be towed by a small SUV or a small truck.

How Many People Can Sleep In An A-Frame?

Most A-frame campers sleep 1-4 people. The only way to add more people (kids are easiest) is to add an air mattress on the floor.

Are A-Frame Campers Worth It?

Whether or not an A-frame camper is worth it is a question only you can answer.

You must factor in things like:

  • What amenities it comes with.
  • How badly you want to store your trailer in your driveway or garage.
  • If you can tolerate having to set it up at every campsite.
  • If you don't mind not having access to it while you're on your way to your destination.
  • Is the cost worth the hassle?
  • How often will you use it?
  • And many other factors.

They are worth it if enough works out for YOU.

Do A-Frame Campers Have Bathrooms?

Sure, some of these campers have small bathrooms.

Some have a little wet bath, while others only have a toilet.

Then others have no bathroom amenities whatsoever.

They are small, so having a bathroom takes away room for other amenities and sleeping areas.

Choose wisely if you would prefer to have a toilet!

  • Is a bathroom really important to you? If yes, learn about other A-frame campers with a bathroom .

What Is The Lightest A-Frame Camper?

The lightest A-frame camper on the market is the Chalet LTW.

It weighs in at only 990 pounds dry!

What Are The Triangle Campers Called?

A triangle-shaped camper is what is known as a pop-up camper.

It's also referred to as an A-frame camper or A-frame trailer.

What Are The Best A-Frame Pop Up Campers?

Ok, so this is a trick question. What we mean is that what is the 'best A-frame campers' is subjective.

What's best for your family won't be what's best for the Joneses.

They have three kids, and you only have one.

They only go out on weekends, and you like to go for a week at a time.

They boondock, and you want campgrounds, and the list goes on.

You immediately have different needs. Therefore, we aren't claiming any particular pop up trailer is the best pop up trailer.

Instead, we're showing you every A-frame camper trailer manufacturer currently on the market.

Then you can make the 'best' decision as to which layout/brand is YOUR 'best.'

There aren't many manufacturers making this camper style, so there's not a huge selection.

As far as quality goes, MOST of these are decent as they are still privately owned.

Let's start with them, the most unconventional A-frame camper!

  • After you purchase your dream rig you need to make sure it is properly equipped before you head out camping. Learn what must-have pop-up camper accessories you should consider getting.

The Antishanty sells a flat-top trailer and an A-frame.

The A-frame is called the AS1 series . Antishanty does not collapse down the way a traditional a frame does. But it does pop-up.

This sucker has queen-size bunk beds, believe it or not! It's tall and spacious inside.

Closed, it is much taller than your typical a-frame pop up, so it's not as easy to store in a garage.

Still, it's a privately owned company that takes pride in every camper they pop out.

You also have to order it custom, so you'll get it exactly how you want.

To top it off, you can use it as a toy hauler.

They offer four models:

Aliner is a well-known builder of the A-frame pop up camper. In fact, they claim they are the original maker of the design.

They are still a privately-owned company, so the quality remains good.  They offer 8 models , and five different floorplans categorized as simply:

  • Small (13 feet)
  • Medium (15 feet)
  • Large (18 feet)

They offer equipment 'levels' in three categories:

All models have a standard front dormer and have a bed, dinette, a little storage space, and good headroom. Here's what comes in the packages they offer:

  • City Water Hookup
  • Pre-Wired for Solar
  • Fully extendable drawers
  • LED Interior Lights
  • Fantastic Fan
  • Premium Curtains
  • Alloy Wheels
  • 120 volt/12-volt Electrical System
  • Electric Trailer Brakes with Break-Away Safety Switch
  • It comes with an 11-gallon freshwater tank, a compact refrigerator, and two burner stove
  • Larger refrigerator with a freezer
  • Hardwood cabinets
  • More windows for a panoramic view
  • Cable connection
  • Front utility light

They have dealers throughout the country and are a very well-known brand.

Some people even incorrectly call any triangle camper trailer an 'Aliner.'

Forest River

Forest River also makes A-frame campers.

Currently, they only have the  Rockwood A122S  and the  Flagstaff T12RBST  in production (they have older models you could find used if you want).

If you go to  THIS page  and then click on Rockwood or Flagstaff, you'll see what is currently being manufactured.

There are currently two models with two different floorplans.

Both floorplans have the basics such as the bed, stove, fridge, fire extinguisher, tank monitor, front storage, microwave, and an outside griddle.

If you order their 'package' you also get:

  • 10K BTU Cool Cat Heat Pump (A/C & Heater)
  • Create-A-Breeze Roof Vent Fan
  • 12-volt Refrigerator  with 100 Watt Roof Solar Panel
  • Heated Mattress on Master Bed (N/A A213HW)
  • Spare Tire w/ Carrier & Cover
  • CO Detector
  • Water Filtration System
  • Stereo w/ Outside Speakers
  • Wi-Fi Booster w/ LTE Prep
  • ProRac Permanent Crossbars (150 pound rating)

Chalet , based in Oregon, sells six different hard sided pop up A-frame campers. Here are the models:

  • LTW (12 feet 9 inches, the shortest trailer on this list)
  • Classic Alpine (15 feet 6 inches)
  • Classic Arrowhead (15 feet 6 inches)
  • XL 1920 (18 feet 7 inches)
  • XL 1930 (18 feet 7 inches)
  • XL 1935 (18 feet 7 inches)

The XL line is the largest and most suitable for families, while the LTW is the shortest hard side A-frame currently in existence.

It's also the only one with a bathroom.

The Classic is a little larger than the LTW and is about 600 pounds heavier. It's got two dinettes vs. just one in the LTW.

The LTW is only 990 pounds dry.

It's the smallest a frame you can find. Great for solos or couples.

Keep in mind there's no bathroom. This camper sleeps two.

The company is proud of its patented Lever Lift System, which makes opening the top effortless (no lifting or reaching up).

This is another company that only builds a frames and is privately owned, so the quality remains decent.

Note: It appears that Chalet was a victim of the pandemic and is no longer in production.

Used A-frame Campers No Longer In Production

Above, we listed the best A-frame campers currently in production.

There are not many.

So, here are two you could find used instead.

They aren't made anymore, but they do exist.

Coachmen Clipper C12RBST

There's nowhere to find specs on this camper that we can find.

But we found a video so you can check out the walk-through on one of them.

The Clipper seems to have the electric roof mechanism, which is nice.

Coachmen is a well-known brand, but it's owned under a publicly owned company (Forest River), so you will have to be the judge on the quality.

Jayco  is also another very well-known brand, owned by Thor .

We believe most Thor-owned products to NOT be the best in quality, but you must use your own judgment.

Also, no specs are available for this, but here's a video so you can see see what one model has.

There aren't very many manufacturers making the Aframe camper these days.

And there is no 'best Aframe pop up camper' out there because 'best' is in the eye of the beholder.

The triangle travel trailer, as it's sometimes called, is convenient for many families, especially if they like camping on the weekends at campgrounds.

These triangle pop up camper trailers typically fit easily into a driveway or even a garage.

They usually have a minimal dining area, appliances, a hot water heater, air conditioning, an electric RV water pump , and all the other typical comforts of home.

They are less expensive than a regular travel trailer and are light and easy to tow.

This makes them popular for adventurers who need a small, light camper to play with whenever possible.

By: Author The Drivin' & Vibin' Team

Posted on June 30, 2020

Are you looking for a lightweight camper trailer, easy to tow, and folds flat for transport and storage? You may be looking for an A-Frame Camper Trailer. We think that they are the perfect solution for hobby campers and adventure travels.

A-Frame campers have been around for decades, but the new models have sleek, modern designs. We even think that you will be surprised by the features and amenities included in today’s A-frame style campers.

What is an A-Frame Camper Trailer?

The A-Frame gets its name from the A outline, with a peak that is created when the camper is assembled on site. Most weigh less than 2000 pounds, and each pound packs a punch of style. It may be small-living, but the well-organized interiors live large.

An A-Frame camper is a step above a teardrop, equivalent in size to a pop-up, and a touch beneath traditional travel trailers.

There’s an A-Frame Camper to fit any need and any camping style. From wet baths to kitchenettes and units that sleep 4, we know that you will find the perfect option. All are easy to tow and easy to store—with most fitting in a standard garage.

If you are new to camping or have years of experience, give the new, modern A-Frame design consideration.

Let’s dive in!

The A-Liner Family  of campers includes the design and tools for a modern, quick to assemble unit. Included are fold-out beds and a sleeper sofa with a sink and toilet. (Note that not all A-Frame Campers include a bathroom) Pop-up dormers add height and provide a breezy atmosphere and extra space.

We especially like the outdoor kitchenette that quickly pulls out for easy use. You can also add an outdoor grill to the package for a full camp kitchen. Weighing under a total of 2000 pounds, this A-Frame can be pulled with a small truck, van, or even an SUV.

Naturally, the adventurist spirit in you isn’t looking for tons of luxurious space. All you need is a little space for your light traveling. You want to be able to pick everything up and leave on a whim. You have a bucket list to check off items from, and you keep running after the next thrill.

When it comes to your search for the best accommodation on the go, an A-Frame camper is exactly what you need.

The beauty of the A-Frame camper lies in its small size and also the fact that on transit, the frame is folded and the trailer could be mistaken for the pop-up tent trailers thanks to the similarities held.

Note, however, that the pop-up tent is different from the A-Frame camper in many ways. Its hard sidewalls and the steeped roof turn the camper into a fully enclosed living area. This camper is also different from the canvas-sided traditional pop-up tent/ trailer which has gained popularity over the past few decades.

Therefore, if you’re looking for an outdoorsy living quarter that offers a higher level of protection from the elements, you might want to try the hard-sided pop-up A-frame camper.

A-Frame Camper: Still confused?

Well, an A-Frame camper, also classified as a pop-up camper, and known as a fold-down camper refers to a folding camper that differs from most of the old camp styles in that it’s not made using canvas, but it’s made of hard walls. These hard walls fold in by themselves, creating a compact structure that’s easy to tow.

What is the reason for the popularity of A-Frame campers?

As an active camper, you might have noticed an increase in the number of A-frame campers around. Besides this being the current trend, the rise in the use of this camper might have a lot to do with its features.

The camper is characterized by:

Hard walls that leave you with an RV that’s well insulated against the weather. Thanks to this design, you wouldn’t have to worry about rain, wind, snow, or any other less-than-optional camping weather.

Compact design – despite having hard walls and a traditional box trailer roof design, this camper can be easily folded down the same way you would a pop-up, to create a compact and lightweight package that’s easily towed by a minivan, a light SUV, or any other vehicle. Its compact design also means that you can easily store the camper in your garage and you don’t have to worry about paying monthly storage fees.

Versatility in floor plans – previously, A-frame campers had a limited number of floor plans, and you wouldn’t think of finding a shower in one. However, things have now changed, and the campers come with dormers that allow for more floor space including complete kitchens and hard-wall bathrooms. You might even find an A-frame camper with a toy hauler option.

Easy Setup – while pop-up campers are known for their ease of setup, the A-Frames beat the pop-ups in terms of their ease of setup. The reason for this is that the A-frame campers have walls that are assisted by gas-strut lifts and the larger models have power lifts. Setting up doesn’t have a learning curve.

The only major downside to the A-Frame campers include the fact that it lacks adequate headroom, it doesn’t have home-like features, and you cannot set it up or pull it down in high wind conditions.

Factors to consider when buying an A-Frame Camper

Regarding function, it’s important to check the number of people who can sleep in the camper, while remaining cozy. You also need to check its storage space since the lengths of campers vary. Also, is the camper easily towed with your car? While these campers are generally lightweight, some might be heavier, especially because of the hard-side construction.

You don’t want to waste money on a camper that will break down on the road. For durability, check for structural stability when driving, as well as the camper’s ability to hold up in high winds.

Does the camper come with a toilet/ bathroom? How reasonable is the available space? Is there a living room or a kitchen? To be safe, look for a camper with a dinette and a kitchenette. You should also check if the camper has space to fit a refrigerator if it comes with beds, and if it will accommodate a heater or an A/C.

  • User-friendliness

The foldable function of the camper should be easy for us with simple functions for hinging and unhinging the camper. Since assembling the campers is rather complex, you should read the user manual and check videos about setting up the camper.

  • Maintenance

Besides regular cleaning, the camper’s repairs and replacement parts should be affordable. Constant checks should keep the camper in great condition, and you also need to make sure that the tires, seals, and roof-lift system work well. It’s also important to keep in mind the cost of simple repairs.

Is a new model better than a used camper? While buying a used camper is a huge risk, it’s a risk you can take if the camper meets all the other conditions above. Note, however, that you should check if the camper has any damage from moisture if it’s physically sound if the heating/ cooling systems work, and if the quoted price is fair or not.

How does the camper look when folded and when unfolded? Can you customize its appearance?

The other considerations include the camper’s portability, its versatility, and the storage space.

Also check the selling price in comparison with features, functionality, customer ratings, and feedback from experts.

If you spend most of your free time outdoors for more than a few days, you might want to invest in a little luxury in the form of an A-Frame camper. You want to feel at home even when far from home with a camper that comes with a comfortable bed, a cooking area, a bathroom, and storage space.  The best A-Frame camper is the one that you can live in, cook, sleep, and shower comfortably.

Its setup should also be easy, and you should be able to spend little time setting up the camper or folding it down. The 17 campers above are the best A-Frame campers for you.
