Department Visits

Current high school seniors, second semester juniors, and all transfer students are eligible for a single department tour. A minimum 7 days’ notice is required for departmental tours. 

If this is your first time visiting TCU, we suggest signing up for a Campus Tour with the Department of Admissions . Theatre TCU will coordinate your departmental tour with the Department of Admissions, which will include time to meet with faculty and students, attending classes, and facilities tour.

Tcu wins 2024 nc rifle championships.

Winning their fourth national title, the TCU Horned Frogs are the 2024 rifle national champions. 

The championship concluded on Saturday with TCU totaling an aggregate score of 4,732. After finishing as runner-up for the past three years, the Horned Frogs take home this year's title with West Virginia in second, tallying a score of 4,729. 

West Virginia tops the individual standings with Gavin Barnick as this year's air rifle champion and Mary Tucker as this year's small bore champion. 

The 2024 NC rifle championship took place on March 8 and 9 at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown, West Virginia. Click or tap here for full results from the championship.

2024 NCAA rifle championship schedule

  • Feb. 19: Selection show at 6 p.m. ET 
  • March 8: Individual and team competition — Smallbore 
  • March 9:  Individual and team competition — Air Rifle 

The competitive events for the 2024 National Collegiate Men’s and Women’s Rifle Championships will be individual smallbore rifle three-position (60 shots) and air rifle (60 shots), with individual finals in each event, team smallbore rifle three-position and team air rifle. The overall team champion will be determined by combining the smallbore and air rifle team totals into one aggregate score for each institution.

Each team will consist of five individuals with the top four scores in each discipline counting toward the team score. All competitors who have qualified for the championships are eligible for the individual championships in each discipline. The relay format of the championships will place at least one competitor from each institution as counters on each relay in both smallbore and air rifle.

2024 NCAA rifle championship qualifiers

INDIANAPOLIS —  The NCAA Men’s and Women’s Rifle Committee has announced the teams and individual qualifiers for the 2024 National Collegiate Men’s and Women’s Rifle Championships.

Hosted by West Virginia University, the championships will be held March 8-9 on campus at WVU Coliseum, Morgantown, West Virginia.

The top eight teams in both the smallbore three-position and air rifle events were selected based on the average of the three highest regular-season aggregate scores with no more than one match at any given site. The average of the three highest scores was added to the aggregate scores from the designated qualifiers to determine the top eight teams.

A total of 48 competitors will compete in the championships, with 40 competitors coming from the top eight teams selected. The remaining eight competitors were selected based on the scores submitted from the designated qualifier.

2024 NCAA rifle championship history

From 1980 to 2004, the championship consisted of 120 shots by each competitor in smallbore, and 40 shots per competitor in air rifle. Since 2005, the championship has consisted of 60 shots for both smallbore and air rifle, equaling a total of 120 shots per team member.

Alaska-Fairbanks won the 2023 title for the first time under head coach Will Anti, and its 11th time in program history. The Nanooks are the second-winningest program all time, behind West Virginia (19 titles). Below are the 10 most recent NC rifle champions:

Job Summary:

The Director of Development, Foundation Giving is responsible for working to secure and steward funding from private foundations for the benefit of Texas Christian University. This position will work to identify foundations that are new to TCU and relevant to the University’s needs, especially those in which the donors are active in setting foundation priorities and grant-making decisions. The Director will also manage an approved and assigned portfolio of foundations as “primary relationship manager,” keeping up-to-date about their missions and priorities, and ensuring that any opportunities for funding consideration are pursued.

Duties & Essential Job Functions:

1. Works in partnership with the Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations to maximize foundation giving for all TCU divisions. This includes working with the Prospect Development Office to conduct prospect research; developing cultivation and solicitation strategies; preparing visit and site visit briefings; consulting with foundation officials where appropriate and when assigned; writing concept papers, LOIs, proposals and stewardship reports; tracking proposal development and submissions and carefully managing the calendar for all renewals and reports regardless of prospect manager assignment; and staffing leaders as appropriate. 2. Manages a portfolio of approved and assigned foundations and maximizes opportunities to match their interests with institutional priorities. 3. Provides strategic oversight of the production and continued development of regular statistical reports relating to foundation fund-raising at TCU, and lead the critical analysis of foundation data as a basis for improvement and innovation. 4. Develops and leads a thorough, timely, and effective program for monitoring external sources of foundation news and information, and for disseminating these to the Corporate and Foundation Relations team and beyond. This includes serving as primary liaison with TCU’s Office of Sponsored Programs. 5. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree. • 5 plus years of related experience.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Experience with Foundation fund-raising in higher education

Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

• Writing and academic experience (writing samples will be required)

Preferred Licensure, Certification, and/or Specialized Training:

Knowledge, skills & abilities:.

• Knowledge of principles and techniques/fundraising in higher education. • Knowledge of fundraising strategies to assist in the success of long-term fundraising efforts. • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint. • Skill in effective written and verbal communication. • Skill in organization and strong analytical abilities. • Skill in attention to detail and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. • Ability to work independently as well as on a team. • Ability to take appropriate initiative in advancing the goals of the office. • Ability to demonstrate intellectual curiosity, commitment to excellence, and dependable professional judgment. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Ability (demonstrated) to interact with individuals at all organizational levels.
