graco near2me travel system review

Reviewed by Charlotte Gatehouse

I was very lucky to be given the opportunity to review the Graco Near2Me pushchair. My baby is 5 months old and we are currently using what was her older sisters push chair which to be frank has seen better days, so when the delivery man arrived it felt a bit like Christmas.

The pushchair arrived well packaged in a big box, although it was compact for what it contained. Cardboard was used instead of plastic wherever possible to protect it from damage so apart from a few small bits it could all be folded down and put in the recycling, so generally I was pleased with the packaging.

Normally I get my husband to assemble things like this but in the name of What’s Good To Do I decided to roll up my sleeves and give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised with how easy it was, the instructions were clear and concise and the pieces easily clicked together, first the wheels, then seat, arm bar and canopy overall it probably took me around 10-15 minutes total to unpack and assemble, plus a little play to figure out the adjustments. It was a breeze and if I could do it anyone can.

The thing I loved about the pushchair from the offset was the enormous basket at the bottom, easily 3 times bigger than I have been using, I am thrilled I can get a decent sized shop in the bottom, hooray no more being overloaded with bags whilst pushing the baby, and amazing for family days out when everyone has coats, bags and picnics that want carrying.

Also of note was the canopy which offered great coverage, it is so important to keep little ones protected from the sun, we often struggle with the sun getting in little eyes causing unrest, this ensured my baby girl was fully in the shade.

I wanted to take it straight out on the school run, so I set my little one up in it right away, our girl looked happy, comfortable and well supported, the straps were easy to adjust and I loved how high the seat could go which is why the pushchair is called Near2Me, so she could clearly see my face and I could coo at her as we walked. The seat height is adjustable with a sliding mechanism so she can be lowered as needed. It was lovely and smooth to push, turned well and managed kerbs with ease.

The pushchair itself looks great and we got a few compliments on the school playground, the grey material with the brown leather handle bars is practical and looks classy.

It’s brilliant that the pushchair can be used from birth up to 4 years. A matching carrycot is available but as the seat can lie nearly flat new babies can use it safely too, big thumbs up for having less equipment to store. It can be front facing or parent facing which adds to the longevity.

The footrest and backrest are easily adjustable to suit, so little ones can be quickly reclined for naps on the go.

The Near2me also comes with a foot muff and rain cover so pleased there are no hidden extras to purchase.

Now to test the all important foldability-this was simple to operate with a pull switch and collapse, the motion itself was swift but took me a couple of times to manage it with the seat on. It’s folded size is quite large but wheels can be removed to fit it in the car if you have a small boot like me.

Overall I love the pushchair, it is currently selling for £270 on the Graco site which is very reasonable and affordable compared to some other competitors, particularly as it does cover from birth. It feels sturdy and well made so will hopefully stand the test of time. I would not hesitate to recommend this as an option for parents who want an easy to use affordable pushchair that covers all stages.

Rating: 5/5

Graco Near2Me™ Pushchair Reviews

Product Tested By Lily Keylock – Jonah 3 Months

Lily Awarded The Graco Near2Me 5/5

When this arrived I thought it looked very neutral so would suit any mum to be. Design is simple, attractive and practical with great features like the big basket for shopping or space for supplies for day trips. The instructions were straight forward and could be easily followed by anyone. I found it very easy to assemble, I tried to assemble it without instructions to see how easy it was and only had to check them for very minor details. Good spacious seating, even my nearly 5 year old could comfortably sit in it. My only criticism about the size is I live in an old building and it was the full width of my hallway so difficult to get up and down with ease. Extremely easy to use, adjustable handle bar and height adjustment to bring baby closer. I found this so easy to place Jonah in as there is so much space. Once Jonah was in this he was very comfortable and secure.  The handle bar supporting the footmuff added extra security with the footmuff not covering my babies face yet nicely cradling around him kept him warm and relaxed. The multi-position seat is very straight forward to use.  My  son is very young I mostly have him facing me in a lie flat position yet as he’s getting stronger and more alert I know I will be turning him round very soon to look out at the world, as I  said I let my son sit in it to try out the other positions which were easily changeable and he was very comfortable. The Slide2Me is very easy to use.  We had the setting on the highest height as its easier to reach them when necessary for both me and my partner, he is quite a sicky baby so being able to reach his face faster is a bonus. I was able to reach my child’s face quite quickly on the higher setting was a bonus for us, also with the seat higher there was more space in the basket which came in handy on days out to the park and shopping etc. I found it straight forward to change seating from forward to rearward facing.  Yet  it’s just as easy as most pushchairs you can change the seat on. Very easy to fold, my only criticism is that to fold it easily the seat has to be outward facing which my son isn’t using at the moment so what would usually be very quick is taking it apart to store it away in the car. Very easy to fold down when out and about if my son was outward facing. Easy release wheels are always a bonus, but we didn’t really have to use the feature. I can imagine for a family with less space would come in handy! The luxurious footmuff was very easy to use and kept my son comfortable, safe and secure. The rain cover wasn’t too much of a faff to put on when out and about with surprise rain showers either. I am still using it now almost every day, I may downsize eventually only as my hallway is very narrow and it’s not easy to get up and down with the pushchair. I used this on the school run in the morning, doing a quick shop in town and visiting the park. I mostly like the amount of space the pushchair has and the height adjustable feature. I do agree this would be ideal from birth through to approx. 4 years.  This is sturdy, well made and adaptable for any family. Good quality and the material of the seating, footmuff and hood are lovely and the frame is very sturdy. I would buy this as the pushchair is very adaptable especially with it being from birth until approx. four. I would take comfort knowing I would only need to buy one pushchair so well worth the money. I have recommended to friends expecting as the features are great. Without issues that have occurred that only effect my use of it I would give the pushchair a 5, its practical, attractive and a good investment. My overall experience with the pushchair is great, I wish it was slightly more narrow or my hallway was larger which I feel has tainted the experience slightly. The pushchair is so practical and easy but getting in and out my house with it isn’t sadly. Another feature which will be great eventually that I couldn’t enjoy the benefit of is the simple fold as the seat unit has to be outward facing to benefit from the ease of it. I have used the big basket for many of mini food shops which has been great not having to rely on my partner and his car having more space to store things myself. Also day trips to the park, plenty of space for a picnic and footballs was extremely helpful not having to carry bags as well as loading the pushchair up. Thank you again for giving me the opportunity to review and keep the pushchair! Lily Keylock – Jonah 3 Months

Product Tested By Laura Jacks – Alfie 7 Months 6 Days

Laura Awarded The Graco Near2Me 4.5/5

I loved the colour. It was definitely the kind of colour I would of chose when buying my own pushchair at the store. Very easy to use in regards to folding, assembling and pushing. I found this system very easy to assemble and straight forward instructions to follow. I managed to assemble with my son in the same room. I struggled with the straps of the pushchair. And had to wait for my partner to come home and help.  Quite bulky. I don’t drive so I use the bus quite a bit when I go out. Was quite a struggle to see over and push on a bus. The only down side to the product was the straps were really hard to put on with a fidgety baby as the top harness disconnects from the side very easily.  Was a bit tricky at times to place a wriggly baby in this. One he was in the buggy I was confident he was safe and comfortable. The multi-position seat was very easy to use and effective. The Skide2Me height adjustment was so easy to use.  Both myself and my partner were able to use this. I loved how you could adjust the height of the seat to store shopping at the bottom when shopping with just Alfie. This was very easy to change seating from forward to rearward. Although Alfie has only just started looking forward. The self-standing fold was superb. The easiest pushchair to fold and fit into the boot of my partners car. Very easy to fold down when out and about too. The easy release wheels are a good idea. Although I didn’t need to take the wheels off when storing/putting it into the car.  Absolutely loved the footmuff and rain cover. Very easy to use and the footmuff was super soft and definitely felt luxurious. We used this at least 3/4 times a week. Whether it was a trip to Tesco or a half an hour walk around the neighbourhood. Mainly used this walking around our neighbourhood. I loved how easy this was to push for not just me but my partner and my mum too. Absolutely superb value for money.  Quality is really good and the only thing that lets this product down is the straps. I really do struggle when my son is fidgeting it’s hard to put them on. I would consider buying this as easy to fold. Easy to push and such a simple but luxurious design. Great quality and durable. I would recommend for all the same reasons too. I absolutely loved being chosen to product test this product. It was so simple and easy to assemble. Easy to fold and store within my house. It feels amazing to push for not just me but my partner as well. Alfie is always comfortable and sometimes falls to sleep straight away when he needs a nap. The hood covers his whole body pretty much which is perfect because of the hot weather we have been getting. The basket is huge and fits so much of my shopping in. Meaning I don’t have to bulk up my buggy clip. The footmuff and pad are super comfortable. It was exactly what I was looking for. We have thoroughly enjoyed it and will continue to do so. Laura Jacks – Alfie 7 Months 6 Days

Product Tested By Rebecca Hastings – Athena 14 Weeks

Rebecca Awarded The Graco Near2Me 4.9/5

We were very impressed with the buggy when it arrived. All parts included and was packed easily enough to find each part when building. The design of the buggy was really nice. The under basket storage was a massive help and had plenty of room. The colours were lovely too. The instructions to build the buggy were easy to follow however we had to click onto YouTube for  video of how to fold the buggy down as the instructions were a little hard to follow. So easy and quick to assemble which is perfect for if you need to run into a shop. The size was perfect for us. The basket underneath was super handy with how big it was. The buggy is so easy to put up or down and so easy and smooth to push which makes it perfect to use for every day. We did find it easy to put Athena in. The straps are easily adjusted. Once Athena was in the buggy she was comfortable. However I would have preferred a carrycot for the first few weeks as Athena was very small in the seating position and would have been a lot more comfortable in a carrycot.  At first it was a mission to be able to lay it down but after using it more and more it became easier. The height adjustment was perfect for me and my partner. It was super easy to adjust between us. We loved the Slide2Me as we were able to bring it closer to us when Athena was only a few weeks old but as she has got bigger and looking around more its perfect to bring it down another level. It was so easy to clip the seat off and change the position from forward to rearward. Especially as you have to change it to be able to fold the buggy down. Super easy to fold once you’ve changed the seating position. It folds neatly and tightly which makes it easy to store in your boot. Super easy to fold when out and about. When storing in the house we took the wheels off and they were easy enough to put back on. The footmuff was luxury. Such high quality. The rain cover was a little tricky to put on but we managed it in the end. We use this buggy every weekend for our long dog walks. We used this in the forest for our long walks. It’s so sturdy it makes it perfect for field and forest walks. I loved how easy it is to fold and store. This is good value.  However, I would also add on a carrycot. The quality is brilliant for an easy everyday buggy. I would buy this, but if it didn’t come with a carrycot I would buy it when baby is a little older to make the most out of the sitting position. I would recommend as it is a lovely easy to use  buggy without a high price tag. It has worked perfectly for our family outings and Athena always seems happy and content in it. Overall my experience with the buggy was really good. My only point would be it needs a carrycot to be able to use it from birth as the sitting position isn’t the most comfortable for a newborn. Rebecca Hastings – Athena 14 Weeks

This system comprises a stroller and an infant car seat in one package. You will hence find it great for your common everyday baby transportation needs. The main factor that sets it apart from the others is the fact that it is strong enough to manage a 7 km walk.

Using it, you may run, jog and walk together with your child. Being strong and durable, it also allows you to ‘grow’ with your baby from infancy through to the toddler stage. All factors considered, the item also allows for smoother and unimpeded maneuverability. That enables simplified and easy navigations.

9. Graco FastAction Fold Sport Travel System

Short on the necessary muscle power? You need not fret as this system is designed with you in mind. It is for all practical purposes lighter in weight, a fact that makes for easier and unimpeded handling. Next comes the sturdy frame which lets you maneuver it out and about smoothly.

These are not to mention the highly portable nature of the structure that sees it easier to handle and take to the desired area of use fine. Unlike the other alternative strollers, this one also folds to give you the ultimate convenience you need to be able to use it fine.

8. Graco Modes 3 Essentials LX Travel System

For the maximum comfort of your baby, you want a stroller that may apply or deploy for use in multiple directions. Look to none other than this one. It is reversible in the sense that it may be used in whichever direction you desire per unit time.

Adding to this trait of reversibility is the multi-position recline. Its role is to add some comfort to the system primarily by adjusting the angle at which the baby stays when in it. By virtue of incorporating some three modes, you will also be able to use it on the go and for varying purposes at a time.

7. Graco Trax Jogger Travel System

As its designation implies, this is a system that is almost exclusively designed for the matters of jogging. Its core features the air-filled rubber tires. Onto these are fixed the visible suspension. They jointly provide smoother rides on just about any other terrain you might want to ply.

For the safety of your child, the front wheels of the system lock to manage a smoother transition from the actions of strolling to jogging. By locking the front wheels also give the stability you need to juggle your way just fine. A deluxe, padded, and multi-position recline on the other hand allows for maximum comfort.

6. Graco FastAction Fold Sport Travel System

Are you a fan of sporting activities? You need not forfeit this love for the matters of sports even if you have to travel around every now and then. Not when there is this travel system that is strong enough to bear the excessively higher weights of operations.

The stroller also folds faster to allow for smoother applications and transportation if need be. Being strong, it is also capable of upholding and supporting a whopping 50 pounds of weight. That also extends its reliability for years on end. Have we also added that it costs less overall to maintain?

5. Graco Verb Travel System

Operating on a timeline that is somewhat squeezed? Pick and dedicate this wonderful system to your use. It does boast of a click connect system that basically attaches the infant car seat to the stroller in a faster, one-step procedure. As soon as it is through with the job, it emits an audible click to alert you.

Further to the above, the system also provides a smoother and more enjoyable rise across numerous terrains thanks mainly to the reliable suspension that adorns much of its makeup. What’s more? Its front wheels swivel and lock at the same time. These two combine to make your trips safer.

4. Graco FastAction Fold Jogger Travel System

Just in case you are a jogging enthusiast who is similarly always on the move, you want a specialized system that also folds. Look to no other than this one. It incorporates all those traits in one comprehensive packaging. Particularly, it acts faster than many alternatives that be at present.

Of all the vital traits that the system has, it is the air-filled rubber tires that stand out. As you may have guessed, the tires are the ones that give the system the support and stability it needs to carry your baby around smoothly. The wheels themselves also lock to guarantee and uphold your maximum safety.

3. Graco FastAction SE Travel System

Short on space or simply want to carry around a smaller baby? If you answered either question in the affirmative, this is the stroller you have to set your eyes on. It is overall 25% smaller than the many alternatives that be in the market as of now.

Though small, the item is still practical in every regard. You will find it good enough and reliable for many of the common issues and applications that strollers of these kinds are supposed to meet. That it folds is yet another advantage altogether. That makes it all the more simple to carry around as need be.

2. Graco Modes Bassinet Travel System

These items are ordinarily quite expensive. You do not want to keep buying a new one every now and then. That can only happen if you choose to purchase one that is stronger, long-lasting, and able to ‘grow’ with your child from scratch through to the toddler stage.

Why not set your eyes on this one? It is not only strong but also able to serve the needs of infants aged 1 year through to the toddlers aged 60 months (5 years). That is not all! It is also able to accommodate the toddler in the front and rear-facing positions smoothly.

1. Graco Modes Travel System

Of all the systems we have in place, it is this one that is optimized for the matters of crashes and accidents. It is tested and found to be truly effective for use in the most difficult environments imaginable. Several factors combine to make this feat achievable.

The rigorous crash tests stand out from the list of all these. Thanks to the tests, the item is able to withstand the harshest impacts that may come it’s the way. All these notwithstanding, the item is also light enough to allow for seamless portability for you to carry it to the desired location of use smoothly.

Just to recap an earlier point, it is no secret that the Graco Travel System is the most reliable and reputable when it comes to matters of child transportation and overall care. This being the case, you do not want to forfeit the benefits that come along.

We hence emphasize the need for you to read through the explanations above with a keener eye of attention. As you do so, try and narrow to that item that is more likely able to meet your unique needs as much as possible. Do we need to add that this is the time to start out?

Touring the Top 10 Moscow Metro Stations

By Claudia Looi 2 Comments

Komsomolskaya metro station

Komsomolskaya metro station looks like a museum. It has vaulted ceilings and baroque decor.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

5. Kievskaya Metro Station was one of the first to be completed in Moscow. Named after the capital city of Ukraine by Kiev-born, Nikita Khruschev, Stalin's successor.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

9. Belorusskaya Metro Station is named after the people of Belarus. In the picture below, there are statues of 3 members of the Partisan Resistance in Belarus during World War II. The statues were sculpted by Sergei Orlov, S. Rabinovich and I. Slonim.

The Moscow Metro Museum of Art: 10 Must-See Stations

There are few times one can claim having been on the subway all afternoon and loving it, but the Moscow Metro provides just that opportunity.  While many cities boast famous public transport systems—New York’s subway, London’s underground, San Salvador’s chicken buses—few warrant hours of exploration.  Moscow is different: Take one ride on the Metro, and you’ll find out that this network of railways can be so much more than point A to B drudgery.

The Metro began operating in 1935 with just thirteen stations, covering less than seven miles, but it has since grown into the world’s third busiest transit system ( Tokyo is first ), spanning about 200 miles and offering over 180 stops along the way.  The construction of the Metro began under Joseph Stalin’s command, and being one of the USSR’s most ambitious building projects, the iron-fisted leader instructed designers to create a place full of svet (radiance) and svetloe budushchee (a radiant future), a palace for the people and a tribute to the Mother nation.

Consequently, the Metro is among the most memorable attractions in Moscow.  The stations provide a unique collection of public art, comparable to anything the city’s galleries have to offer and providing a sense of the Soviet era, which is absent from the State National History Museum.  Even better, touring the Metro delivers palpable, experiential moments, which many of us don’t get standing in front of painting or a case of coins.

Though tours are available , discovering the Moscow Metro on your own provides a much more comprehensive, truer experience, something much less sterile than following a guide.  What better place is there to see the “real” Moscow than on mass transit: A few hours will expose you to characters and caricatures you’ll be hard-pressed to find dining near the Bolshoi Theater.  You become part of the attraction, hear it in the screech of the train, feel it as hurried commuters brush by: The Metro sucks you beneath the city and churns you into the mix.

With the recommendations of our born-and-bred Muscovite students, my wife Emma and I have just taken a self-guided tour of what some locals consider the top ten stations of the Moscow Metro. What most satisfied me about our Metro tour was the sense of adventure .  I loved following our route on the maps of the wagon walls as we circled the city, plotting out the course to the subsequent stops; having the weird sensation of being underground for nearly four hours; and discovering the next cavern of treasures, playing Indiana Jones for the afternoon, piecing together fragments of Russia’s mysterious history.  It’s the ultimate interactive museum.

Top Ten Stations (In order of appearance)

Kievskaya station.

graco near2me travel system review

Kievskaya Station went public in March of 1937, the rails between it and Park Kultury Station being the first to cross the Moscow River.  Kievskaya is full of mosaics depicting aristocratic scenes of Russian life, with great cameo appearances by Lenin, Trotsky, and Stalin.  Each work has a Cyrillic title/explanation etched in the marble beneath it; however, if your Russian is rusty, you can just appreciate seeing familiar revolutionary dates like 1905 ( the Russian Revolution ) and 1917 ( the October Revolution ).

Mayakovskaya Station

Mayakovskaya Station ranks in my top three most notable Metro stations. Mayakovskaya just feels right, done Art Deco but no sense of gaudiness or pretention.  The arches are adorned with rounded chrome piping and create feeling of being in a jukebox, but the roof’s expansive mosaics of the sky are the real showstopper.  Subjects cleverly range from looking up at a high jumper, workers atop a building, spires of Orthodox cathedrals, to nimble aircraft humming by, a fleet of prop planes spelling out CCCP in the bluest of skies.

Novoslobodskaya Station

graco near2me travel system review

Novoslobodskaya is the Metro’s unique stained glass station.  Each column has its own distinctive panels of colorful glass, most of them with a floral theme, some of them capturing the odd sailor, musician, artist, gardener, or stenographer in action.  The glass is framed in Art Deco metalwork, and there is the lovely aspect of discovering panels in the less frequented haunches of the hall (on the trackside, between the incoming staircases).  Novosblod is, I’ve been told, the favorite amongst out-of-town visitors.

Komsomolskaya Station

Komsomolskaya Station is one of palatial grandeur.  It seems both magnificent and obligatory, like the presidential palace of a colonial city.  The yellow ceiling has leafy, white concrete garland and a series of golden military mosaics accenting the tile mosaics of glorified Russian life.  Switching lines here, the hallway has an Alice-in-Wonderland feel, impossibly long with decorative tile walls, culminating in a very old station left in a remarkable state of disrepair, offering a really tangible glimpse behind the palace walls.

Dostoevskaya Station

graco near2me travel system review

Dostoevskaya is a tribute to the late, great hero of Russian literature .  The station at first glance seems bare and unimpressive, a stark marble platform without a whiff of reassembled chips of tile.  However, two columns have eerie stone inlay collages of scenes from Dostoevsky’s work, including The Idiot , The Brothers Karamazov , and Crime and Punishment.   Then, standing at the center of the platform, the marble creates a kaleidoscope of reflections.  At the entrance, there is a large, inlay portrait of the author.

Chkalovskaya Station

Chkalovskaya does space Art Deco style (yet again).  Chrome borders all.  Passageways with curvy overhangs create the illusion of walking through the belly of a chic, new-age spacecraft.  There are two (kos)mosaics, one at each end, with planetary subjects.  Transferring here brings you above ground, where some rather elaborate metalwork is on display.  By name similarity only, I’d expected Komsolskaya Station to deliver some kosmonaut décor; instead, it was Chkalovskaya that took us up to the space station.

Elektrozavodskaya Station

graco near2me travel system review

Elektrozavodskaya is full of marble reliefs of workers, men and women, laboring through the different stages of industry.  The superhuman figures are round with muscles, Hollywood fit, and seemingly undeterred by each Herculean task they respectively perform.  The station is chocked with brass, from hammer and sickle light fixtures to beautiful, angular framework up the innards of the columns.  The station’s art pieces are less clever or extravagant than others, but identifying the different stages of industry is entertaining.

Baumanskaya Statio

Baumanskaya Station is the only stop that wasn’t suggested by the students.  Pulling in, the network of statues was just too enticing: Out of half-circle depressions in the platform’s columns, the USSR’s proud and powerful labor force again flaunts its success.  Pilots, blacksmiths, politicians, and artists have all congregated, posing amongst more Art Deco framing.  At the far end, a massive Soviet flag dons the face of Lenin and banners for ’05, ’17, and ‘45.  Standing in front of the flag, you can play with the echoing roof.

Ploshchad Revolutsii Station

graco near2me travel system review

Novokuznetskaya Station

Novokuznetskaya Station finishes off this tour, more or less, where it started: beautiful mosaics.  This station recalls the skyward-facing pieces from Mayakovskaya (Station #2), only with a little larger pictures in a more cramped, very trafficked area.  Due to a line of street lamps in the center of the platform, it has the atmosphere of a bustling market.  The more inventive sky scenes include a man on a ladder, women picking fruit, and a tank-dozer being craned in.  The station’s also has a handsome black-and-white stone mural.

Here is a map and a brief description of our route:

Start at (1)Kievskaya on the “ring line” (look for the squares at the bottom of the platform signs to help you navigate—the ring line is #5, brown line) and go north to Belorusskaya, make a quick switch to the Dark Green/#2 line, and go south one stop to (2)Mayakovskaya.  Backtrack to the ring line—Brown/#5—and continue north, getting off at (3)Novosblodskaya and (4)Komsolskaya.  At Komsolskaya Station, transfer to the Red/#1 line, go south for two stops to Chistye Prudy, and get on the Light Green/#10 line going north.  Take a look at (5)Dostoevskaya Station on the northern segment of Light Green/#10 line then change directions and head south to (6)Chkalovskaya, which offers a transfer to the Dark Blue/#3 line, going west, away from the city center.  Have a look (7)Elektroskaya Station before backtracking into the center of Moscow, stopping off at (8)Baumskaya, getting off the Dark Blue/#3 line at (9)Ploschad Revolyutsii.  Change to the Dark Green/#2 line and go south one stop to see (10)Novokuznetskaya Station.

The Graco Near2Me has a wide wheelbase and lockable swivel wheels, which make it feel sturdy; it pushed silently and smoothly on bumpy pavements and cobbles and through the park, and it was fairly easy to manoeuvre, even on grass. Large back wheels made mounting kerbs a breeze, and the pram took uneven surfaces well.
