What we say...

The ultimate game-improvement iron, the GeoMax 2 combines power and forgiveness to take your game to new heights. The high MOI, robust clubhead features a super-wide sole along with heel and toe weight pads in the rear cavity to help shots get up fast and stay on target.

Centered low and behind the face, the central part of the sole has been hollowed out and filled with a Thermal Plastic Elastomer (TPE) insert. The TPE sits low and in the back of sole, removing unnecessary weight from the center and dampening vibration at impact.

Experience the most advanced design to come from the award-winning GeoMax line and discover the best golf of your life.

2010 Review:

The head of the GeoMax 2, in the words of Colin, was meaty! And it certainly proved powerful in statistic terms, scoring 4/5 in the distance stakes. Craig wasn’t too keen on the feel of this particular Tour Edge model or indeed its weighty head, but Alex thought this was a good club for someone who struggles to get yardage because of the uber high ball flight that the irons offered. The irons didn’t offer much in terms of looks in the eyes of our boys, but it was fairly long.

Ratings (out of 5):

Distance : 4   Dispersion : 2.5   Looks : 2    Feel : 2.5   Forgiveness : 3

A super-wide sole of the Tour Edge Geomax 2 Irons, undercut cavity and heel and toe weight pads in the rear cavity help shots get up quick and stay on target.

A portion of the cavity has also been filled with a thermal plastic elastomer insert for greater forgiveness and vibration dampening at impact.

Billed as the ultimate game-improver's club, the GeoMax 2 has 18 per cent more weight located in the heel and the toe than the previous model for added forgiveness.

The tour edge geomax 2 Irons are available in graphite for £372. Web: www.touredge.com Contact: 01753 218 913

Tour Edge Bazooka GeoMax Driver Review

High MOI is this year’s “big thing” in drivers and it has spawned a host of strange shapes and high prices. Here’s a good-looking high MOI driver at a great price.

TourEdge Geomax Driver Hero

Tour Edge , based in Batavia, IL, has become something of an interesting maverick among club manufacturers. Founded in 1985 by former club pro David Glod, they have gradually built a solid reputation for delivering innovation and performance in clubs that don’t come with a premium price tag.

So, while they have created a premium-priced line of clubs under the Exotics moniker like the Exotics CB2 3-wood we recently reviewed here , their core line of clubs under the Bazooka designation are solid, playable, affordable sticks. So how does their newest high-MOI driver stack up? Here’s the review… Design and Construction As I wrote in a Bag Drop when the club was introduced, the GeoMax is another entry into the 460cc high-MOI driver category the market became awash in this year. But unlike square and scoop-crowned drivers, the GeoMax comes with a much more traditional shape.

It’s an all-titanium clubhead that pushes the legal limits of the breadth-to-face ratio set by the USGA to 9.75. They did this to achieve the comparatively high MOI of 5,000 g/cm². The designers pulled the trailing edge back away from the face in a lot less radical way than Nike took with their SasQuatch, as Titleist did with the 907 D1, or even as much as TaylorMade did with the new Burner.

Touredge Bazooka Geomax Driver Sole

Further contributing to the high MOI is a 20-gram tungsten sole weight placed as far back from the clubface as possible. This helps move the center of gravity deeper and lower in the head that not only contributes to the high MOI, but it helps deliver a slightly higher launch angle.

While we’re looking at a deep clubhead from front to back, the face is comparatively shallow by modern 460cc standards measures just 2″ deep. As we will discuss later, this attribute, along with others, contributes to a higher launch angle.

It’s somewhat curious to me that the designers chose to put scoring lines in the impact area. Painted in white while the flanking score lines are black, they help somewhat with alignment. But from what I understand, grooves on a driver don’t contribute much, if anything. In fact, most players would benefit from less spin with their driver… not that these grooves will create much, if any, spin.

Touredge Bazooka Geomax Driver Face

The shaft is a Grafalloy made to Tour Edge’s specifications. In stiff, it’s a 65-gram model with 3.8 degrees of torque (moderately low) and rated as a mid-launch stick. More on its performance later, but in this flex it does seem to have a slightly softer tip than some other shafts I’ve tried this year.

The grip is branded for Tour Edge. I can’t tell if it’s a Golf Pride, Lamkin, or brand X but it feels like a Tour Velvet albeit with Crossline-type scoring. But no matter, it’s a very comfortable grip. There is no reminder rib.

Esthetics I have to say that this is one of the better looking drivers introduced this year. In the address position it presents itself as an almost traditional driver shape, despite the fact the rear edge has been pulled back away from the face.

Touredge Bazooka Geomax Driver Address

The crown is a deep iridescent blue. Think of a blueberry version of candy apple red (of course, to know candy apple red, you need to know the California custom car culture of the 50s). In the shade or in room light, it looks black. But get it out in the sunlight and the color comes alive. While I might favor black, this is a very attractive color choice that is subtle enough not to be distracting.

The alignment mark on the crown is the Bazooka logo: “italicized” crosshairs in a circle. It looks good and does the job for those who like an alignment mark.

On the sole are two yellow-painted scallops. I don’t know what it is, but yellow sure got to be the “in” accent this year showing up as it does on Nike, Adams, and TaylorMade clubs, among others. On the GeoMax, the blue and yellow scheme continues on the shaft. While most of the shaft is painted a dark silver grey, the top five inches just under the grip is painted blue and separated from the grey by a painted yellow shaft band simulation.

Touredge Geomax Driver Headcover

A word on the headcover: it’s the usual molded type with a knit sleeve at the bottom that takes two hands and a few curse words to put on. It carries out the black, gold, and blue color scheme of the club and doesn’t look half bad.

Playability My test club was a 9° loft with a stiff shaft. This loft, one of five different loft choices, comes with a 0°, or square/neutral, face angle. A square face generally gives the appearance of a slightly closed face and this was true here.

Most “player’s” drivers are built with a slightly open face of 2° or 3° to give the appearance of square at address. But even with a square face angle the GeoMax driver sets up really well. It took maybe five seconds to adjust to it. Swinging the club, my test sample felt good. The swing weight I measured on this club was a moderate D1.

The sound at impact was especially good and somewhat lower pitched than a Callaway X460 I’ve played. It’s very impressive for an all-titanium clubhead. While nothing will ever duplicate the sound of persimmon on balata, I’ve come to prefer the sound of all-titanium heads to the muted thud on some composite clubheads or the horrible clang of the Nike Sumo².

Writing club reviews is always a tough exercise in that at some point it has to become a pretty subjective process. So what follows is one player’s highly personal experience.

Touredge Bazooka Geomax Driver Shaft

Marrying a mid-launch shaft with less-than-minimal torque and what felt like a softer tip to a somewhat shallow-faced head is going to result in a higher launch than the loft might indicate. And that was my experience. I had trouble keeping my shots down to the launch angle I normally expect with a 9° driver. And, during my test rounds, I did manage to balloon a couple.

Touredge Bazooka Geomax Driver Toe

That said, I was able to hit controlled fades pretty much at will. Attempts at gentle draws, however, generally resulted in full-blown hooks. Part of this may be my swing quirks, but I think that this is such a high MOI driver, it’s meant to hit balls straight. And that’s really what it’s best at.

That the shaft, while stiff, seemed a little soft at the bottom meant I wasn’t seeing my normal distance. The higher launch I was getting meant I wasn’t realizing optimum roll. This doesn’t mean this is a bad shaft, just maybe a bad shaft for me. I want to love every new club I try. But sometimes the magic just isn’t there.

Specifications and Options One of the most impressive things about the Tour Edge and its GeoMax driver, beyond its looks and sound, is the way they’ve customized the specifications for each of the five different loft models they offer.

Club Specifications

As the specification chart shows, with each increase in loft across the line, the face angle closes to create a progressively greater draw bias. And that makes great sense to me because players requiring greater loft are generally helped by a club that helps them fight the rights. The 1° flatter lie angle in the 12°, 14°, and 16° versions also helps in that regard.

Shaft Specifications

The same attention to player types by loft shows up in the shaft specifications. The more flex, the lighter weight and greater torque. To me this means Tour Edge has gone the distance in trying to produce models within the GeoMax line that are going to make the most sense for the most players.

Custom shafts and grips are offered, although I have no idea of what they might be. Best to check with your pro or golf shop.

Perhaps the most remarkable specification of all is the price. This solid, well-built, modern, high MOI driver retails for only $199.99 at retailers like Edwin Watts . Dollar for dollar, it’s quite a value against the $300 and $400 drivers offered by the bigger brand names. Bravo Tour Edge.

Conclusions I know it’s not fashionable to choose a brand or club that doesn’t have a major presence on the PGA Tour. And there’s the unfortunate mindset that says the more you pay the more you get. But let’s be real. You buy a driver to play the best golf you can… the greatest distance with the greatest accuracy.

Anybody in the market for a driver needs to consider as many options as possible. And, in my opinion, that should include the Tour Edge GeoMax. It’s a beautifully designed, solid club delivering high MOI. If the shaft is right for you, this might be the biggest bargain you’ll ever find in a driver of such excellent quality.

The best thing about the Tour Edge line is the Lifetime Warranty. A couple of years ago, I caved in the face of a Tour Edge Bazooka QL driver on the driving range. Took it back to the shop where I purchased it, and the dealer took a look at it and replaced it… no problem at all.

I ended up upgrading to the r7 460 and gave the QL to a friend of mine, but it was a pretty decent driver nonetheless.

Nice review, Jack. I agree that Tour Edge makes fantastic products, and for anyone wanting pro-line quality without the pro line price, Tour Edge is the number one option.

Reading the review, I was interested in your comments about sound. Sound is so important, and as you know, the club designers know this and put great thought into it when they design a driver. I’ve had an interesting experience with sound. I currently play one of the most harsh-sounding drivers available, the Callaway FTi. When I first tried it, I almost rejected it after one swing simply because of the sound. But after playing with it for a while, especially after hitting some very good shots with it, my perception of the sound changed. What was initially harsh actually began to sound good. I mean this in the literal sense–the sound initially evoked a negative visceral/emotional reaction, but after playing with it, the emotional association with the sound became positive.

It’s your basic Pavlovian, conditioning thing, I think. But the point is that nobody should rule out a club on the basis of sound alone, as over time, even clanging can begin to sound musical.

Just a note on the aesthetics, sound, and feel of the Geomax line…

I find myself using a 7 wood very often, but love the “bomb it” feel of looking down at a driver at address. The stretched/square thing is stimulating to me. I like the sound modern drivers make also. I have a relatively slow swingspeed and impact sounds like the one the SUMO2 is known to make (especially that explosion on perfect swings) improves my self-image. Consequently, I don’t like the almost bubble-like feel of very large (320cc+), thin-walled clubheads.

All of this culminates into the stretched Geomax driver’s scaled down, but near identical little buddies (the Geomax fairway woods) appealing very much to me. I can feel like I’m “bombing it,” but with the more solid feeling and smaller seven woods I prefer anyway. As a bonus, the fairway woods have relatively loud Carpenter 455 steel faces that boost my sense of power too.

My opinion is that the Geomax line’s fairway woods have a complete package of psychological benefits. I swing easier and thus smoother when I feel more powerful. I take my time in setup and make my shot count when I like my equipment aesthetically. I don’t flinch mid-swing when I have confidence in the durability of my clubheads. Finally, I don’t feel as guilty spending $150 for such a nice club. 😀

I love the Tour Edge products. I have used Tour Edge irons for a long time. I have used a Tcheap ommy Armour driver , Nike SQ, Callaway Big Bertha 454.

Then after getting and loving the Tour Edge Bazooka Hybrids, I got the GeoMax. I ‘ve settle on it as my most consistent driver. My only complaint is actually the high launch. I had to swap out my long tees for traditional ones.

The life time warranty is great, I have used it several times already.

🙂 I have Tour Edge Bazooka QL irons and hybrids in my bag and am very pleased with them. I recently bought a 12 degree Geomax driver. I would have to say that it is the best club that I have ever spent my money on. It’s worth every cent and replaced a Taylormade R7 driver that I was using.

I am putting many more drives into the fairway than I ever have before.

It’s a great club. I love it. Thank you Tour Edge.

Went to a demo days looking for a driver. Hit the Cobra F Speed, Tour Edge GeoMax, Callaway X460, Ping G5, Ping Rapture & TaylorMade R7 460. Came down to the GeoMax, X460 & Rapture. All 3 I hit about the same – Rapture maybe 10 yards more, and the GeoMax were almost always straight. Came down to X460 & GeoMax (around the same $). The GeoMax looks like it wants to deliver at setup. Adds a lot of confidence off the tee. Waiting to take on the course, but if I hit it anything like I did at the range – I know I won’t be disappointed. This is my 2nd Tour Edge driver purchased (Bazooka F4). Excellent quality and I hear their customer service is top-notch (haven’t had to use it). I consider them a top club manufacturer. Highly recommend adding it to your list when looking for new clubs. Check out the material, the look and hit ’em!

awesomelly playable clubs, all of them from this co, a pleasure to hit, and using non-tour gear really makes it fun to beat up guys who paid more for their big 😎 😎 name driver than you did for your irons.

Great reviews! Very useful- my thanks to all. If anyone tries different shafts please let us know results . Thanks again. J.J. in Mich

Thanks for the great input—-living in a very rural area and new to the game of golf it is difficult to try out clubs–basicially I try the clubs the guys are using when I golf with them. I have been looking at Tour Edge for the last few weeks for a driver—I am either going to get the GeoMax or an Exotic—not sure which yet. Sound is very important—like the old school wood sound…..so it might be the GeoMax. Thanks again.

Being from the Chicagoland area and learning about Tour Edge some years ago, I’ve watched them and their ability to make very good, no – excellent, golf equipment that keeps getting better with each new version. I also like supporting a local based business.

I just purchased a GeoMax 3-metal and couldn’t be more pleased. As I look in my bag, I see more Tour Edge clubs with more coming.

I would and do recommend these clubs with no hesitation.

GO Tour Edge !!!

Hi there.. i just want to say that the reviews here is what helped me in my discission to buy this club and i’m thankful. This is the best Driver I’ve ever had the pleasure to swing. I have a 10.5 Geomax Stiff all stock. The shaft really helps me get the ball up. I’ve always had problem with launch, but with this club it’s no problem. 1st time out on the course with it, my buddies were telling me how long and straight I was hitting. If anything, the ball flight is straight or with a slight fade. I had a bad problem with hooking, but not now. This driver fixed that problem. I get anywhere from 275 to 325+ yards. On my home couse, i’ve had to use my 3 wood (which is a tour edge bazooka jmax ql, it’s awesome also) because I was Driving past the greens on the Par 4’s. I could not belive it. What a great problem to have.

I’ve had Cleveland Comp, Hibore and Hibore XL, Taylormade R7 and Burner, Ping G5, Callaway, You name it, I’ve hit it. I even had a KZG Gemini 2 (which had great control and distance) and The Geek Dot Com This DCT 551, but this club was the best for me. Try it and you will see. Only problem is that you really can’t work the ball. If you need straight, this is your club.

THIS IS THE ONLY CLUB THAT LIVES UP TO ALL THE HYPE. (JUST AWESOME)

i`m a 28 handicapper, had trouble with drivers, never straight, been using the geomax driver for about 3 months, great results, long, straight, my new best mate in the bag. Great value, why pay more.

i started playing golf around 7 months ago and purchased a set of maxfli clubs ❓ . The driver had a A flex and i hit a very impressive slice. After trying to play for my slice i began to get annoyed. i decided to buy a new driver and get it fit to my swing speed. After this they set me up with the bazooka geomax. im a lefty so it was 10.5 degree and had a regular flex shaft . . as soon as i hit it i knew that this was the club for me . I have to swing as fast as i can to get it to go straight and no matter how hard i swing i have never managed to slice it. I can hit accurate draws with it and average around 260-280 metres off the tee . sometimes i hit it 300+. Overall a very good club

I used one of the early model Bazookas for about 10 years. I just loved that club. Recently I have re-visited Tour Edge drivers. First I tried an Exotics XLD and did not like it at all. I like drivers which have a pleasant sound, and good feel feedback through the hands and arms. The XLD had neither of these. Then I bought an almost new Bazooka GeoMax at a very good price ($28) on Ebay. From the very first hit my love affair with Tour Edge was re-kindled. This club was everything the XLD wasn’t. Nice sound, good feel and just as long as any other driver I’ve hit. A very attractive club head. Would recommend highly.

Same for me… I recently picked up a used set of Bazooka Jmax irons and a GeoMax2 9° Draw Driver (eBay is great!). These clubs are fantastic. The irons are the most forgiving clubs I have ever hit, and the driver has seriously improved my consistency off the tee – and such a sweeeeet sound!Tour Edge is probably the most underrated company in the market. If you haven’t tried Tour Edge yet, do it. You won’t be dissapointed.

I recently picked a brand new 16 in reg shaft off ebay for $35 shipped. I gotta say, dollar for dollar this is the best club I have ever bought.

Initially I was worried about the high loft and shaft combo. From time to time I do balloon one, but I will take a dead straight lob at 225 over a 260 crooked drive every day of the week. The real high shots usually occur when I overswing. If I hang on to my release as late as possible the ball flight is beautiful and LONG. You can basically hit it any where on the face and get a usable shot. This is a very very stable driver.

I used to fear all my drivers, weakest part of my game for years. With this one I have total confidence when I tee it up. I give up 10-15 yards over my other drivers. I don’t care…really. I will take 250 and in the fairway all day.

Makes you wonder how those others get away with charging $400 for a stinkin driver.

After using the Burner 09,Calloway Hyper X,and finally, the Nicklaus Air-Max 460,this summer with undistinguished results,I came across the GeoMax 10.5 stock stiff and wow, will have this club in my bag for a long time.Went from about 235-245 with the others to 255 and straight with this club.Truly impressive.Makes everything easier.I owe you one Tour Edge, thanks!!

I am looking for a 2nd hand ladies Bazooka geomax 12.5*

Looking for a left hand, off set geo max 7 wood, senior flex used if possible

Tour edge geomax 2 bazooka driver review.

First Published September 9th 2013

The review is further down the page if you want to just skip to it. What follows are the reasons why I bought the driver.

It’s been driving me mad …

Trying to get off the tee, with decent distance and accuracy

As I’ve previously reported, I’ve tried using woods off the tee and done nothing but get myself into trouble …

So I reverted to leaving the woods out of the bag in order to try and get round safely with iron shots

Which seemed like a sensible plan to me …

But not to the Golf Pro who I’m taking lessons from – Paul Stoller at Ulverston Golf Club

My series of lessons ended last Friday, but I booked another one as I still wasn’t happy with my basic technique …

Video analysis of my golf swing this Friday revealed that I’m getting there

I acually look more like a golfer than before and I’m not moving around so much during the swing …

So I mentioned my crafty Iron plan

And he shot it to bits, by telling me that whilst that might result in short term gains, in the medium to long term it would be counter productive …

I knew that was true

Paul persuaded me to buy the Tour Edge Geomax 2 Bazooka Driver

It was new, and the price was right (rip Leslie Crowther) so I did

On Sunday morning I took it to the driving range, and as usual duffed my first half dozen shots, but then I caught the next one clean

And couldn’t beleive what happened

The ball flew high into the air, straight, and landed about 180 yards away

Which was exactly what I’d been looking for

The Driver id specified as 15 loft, a 2 degree draw and higher MOI

I had to look up MOI to find out that it simply means that the driver is more forgiving on mis hit shots

So this driver is designed for use by someone who doesn’t always strike the ball cleanly and has a tendency to hook the ball i.e. has the club face too open at impact

And it might be you

I hit maybe 80 balls at the range

The loft I got varied enormously which meant that distanced acheived ranged from 150 – 230 yards

But what a sweet feeling it is, seeing the ball flying through the air with height. Anyone who’s ever topped a drive off the tee or into any short hazard will know what I mean

I still hit some shots with slice, I still topped some shot, I still pulled some shots left. But half of them went straight down the middle and would have cleared anything in front of me on a golf course.

Two hours later I was on the first at Grange over Sands Golf Club which is a straight 319 yard par 4 so out came the driver

And I sliced it out of bounds

I used the driver throughout the round where appropriate, and at one hole where it wasn’t with mixed success

But I know that this is the driver for me

I went out in 60 and back in 61, the highlight for me being a bogey on the 508 yard par 5 18th

So I’m still crap

But I’ve found my driver

Today, I took it to the driving range again and hit another 60 balls

Most of which went within an acceptable angle of straight and all around 180 yards

It’s not a budget option to purchase this club

But if you’re a beginner like me

It’s worth it

tour edge bazooka geomax 2 irons review

Tour Edge Bazooka GeoMax 2 Driver Review

The Tour Edge Bazooka GeoMax 2 driver might be worth considering if you’re an average- to high-handicap player and you want decent performance at a very low cost. It’s a few years old now, but it’s still being sold online, at various websites. In fact, I’ve seen brand-new clubs up for sale for less than $40 fairly often. Golfsmith (www.golfsmith.com) is selling them for $39.94 right now, but that’s just one example. You might also be able to pick up a used (search for “preowned”) Tour Edge Bazooka GeoMax 2 driver online or in a pro shop, although make sure it’s in good condition before you buy.

So, by looking around you can find one for very little money. Even when the club first came onto the market (back in 2008 or 2009, I think), it was priced very reasonably for a driver. If I remember correctly, at the time its MSRP was around $220.

Tour Edge Bazooka GeoMax 2 driver review

Even though it’s not this year’s model, would a Tour Edge Bazooka GeoMax 2 driver be a good choice for a beginning player or a mid- to high-handicap golfer who wants more distance and better accuracy? Read this review to learn the answer to that question.

Tour Edge has never been known as one of the top-tier golf club manufacturers. The company’s main market has always been average or high-handicap golfers who are looking for clubs that deliver some pretty decent performance at an affordable price. But year after year, Tour Edge has been gaining a bit of headway into the premium golf club market, especially with its technology-laden Exotics line of clubs. In fact, over the years Tour Edge Exotics clubs have developed an almost cult-like following. Tour Edge is like “the little engine that could” of the golf club industry – it keeps chugging away, and every year the clubs made by this up-and-coming company get better.

This particular driver was developed to help golfers hit their drives longer and straighter. Despite the low price of the club, the company didn’t cut many corners, giving the Tour Edge Bazooka GeoMax2 driver a titanium face, crown and body.

Its high Moment of Inertia (MOI) increases the club head’s stability on mishits and gives the driver a fair bit of forgiveness. (If you’re not familiar with the term “Moment of Inertia,” it’s a concept that’s extremely important in golf. Basically, Moment of Inertia is a way of describing how much the club head twists when it impacts the ball. A high MOI means less twisting of the club head , so the ball tends to fly straighter.) To maximize the club’s forgiveness, Tour Edge took the MOI of the driver up to the maximum allowed by the USGA.

The club’s high MOI and large sweet spot mean that your ball has a good chance of being long and straight no matter where you catch it. The Tour Edge Bazooka GeoMax 2 driver’s distance is also partially due to the four weighted cavities placed back in the sole. These weighted cavities are strategically positioned to lower and deepen the head’s center of gravity for higher launches and longer, more accurate drives. The sloped crown shape helps shift the center of gravity down and back even more.

Everything about the Tour Edge Bazooka GeoMax 2 driver has been designed to provide a good combination of accuracy and power – two characteristics which most mid- to high-handicap golfers will find helpful. I say “go for it” if you can’t spend much but your skill level means that some extra distance and accuracy would help your game.

The Tour Edge Bazooka GeoMax 2 driver is available in four lofts: 9.0 degree (neutral); 10.5 degrees (1 degree closed); 12.0 degrees (1 degree closed); and 15.0 degrees (2 degrees closed). There are five stock graphite shaft options, all made by Grafalloy. Shaft weights range from 55 to 67 grams. The stock flex choices go from an A flex (senior) all the way up to X flex (extra-stiff).

The Bottom Line : Tour Edge came up with the “GeoMax” name by combining the terms “geo” (for the company’s performance-enhancing geometric designs) and “max” (for maximum distance and accuracy). Kind of clever, I’d say. But what’s really clever is how the Tour Edge Bazooka GeoMax 2 driver can help mid- to high-handicap players hit their drivers higher, longer and straighter. If you’re a highly-skilled golfer you’d probably do better by looking elsewhere. But the combination of accuracy and distance the Tour Edge Bazooka GeoMax 2 driver offers makes it a pretty good option for beginning golfers who have limited budgets. Players who have trouble keeping their drives on target could benefit too. A little more accuracy and distance can transform your scores pretty dramatically.

Tour Edge Bazooka Geomax 2 Driver Review

by | | Golf Driver Reviews , Golf Driver Reviews - 2009 , Golf Reviews , Tour Edge Reviews

Overview/Technology-

The Tour Edge Bazooka Geomax 2 provides the thing you might expect from a driver identified “bazooka” as a middle name – this is a bomber!  The Tour Edge Bazooka Geomax touts a more than generous 20% larger clubface that creates an unbelievable target of a sweet spot.  And if that’s enough to get you drooling for a slap off the tee box, well take hold of the four weighted cavities in the rear of the sole that lower the CG to its max.  No doubt, this driver is made for bombing.

Tour Edge Bazooka Specs-

Four lofts – 9.0 – 0 square, 10.5 1 degree closed, 12.0 – 1 degree closed, and 15.0 – 2 degrees closed.  Driver comes in five shat options made by Grafalloy.

Actual Player Feedback-

“Wow! What a surprise! This driver is sweeeet!”

“Great sound, control and distance”

“Super is all i can say. I had been using a Taylor 580Xd and boy how his stick has helped my tee game”

Pros/Positives-

The Bazooka GeoMax 2 is made for players who need help getting the ball in the air and down the fairway… even on mishits.  A very good driver that pads the distance and keeps the round-ending bad days off the tee to a minimum.

Cons/Negatives-

The driver is certainly not for everyone – definitely caters to the recreational player.

Overall Rating-

Again, the Tour Edge Bazooka GeoMax 2 driver is not for everyone.  The better player is best looking elsewhere to improve workability.  However for the golfer looking for foregiveness, this is DEFINITELY worth a look.

Our Tour Edge Bazooka 470 Set Review (Worth It in 2024?)

Henry Foster Image

The Tour Edge Bazooka 470 Complete Set is an excellent option for the mid to high handicapper looking for a brand new set of clubs.

You may not be overly familiar with the Tour Edge brand, but their Bazooka line of golf clubs has become very popular.

In this Tour Edge Bazooka review, we will explain exactly what you get with the Tour Edge Bazooka 470 set and a few alternatives if this is not the best pick for your golf game.

Tour Edge Bazooka 470 Set Review

tour edge bazooka geomax 2 irons review

What’s Included In The Set: Driver, 3 Wood, 5 Wood, 4 & 5 Hybrid, 6-SW, Putter, Stand Bag

Features And Benefits

tour edge bazooka geomax 2 irons review

Player Handicap

One of the biggest problems you will run into when looking for a complete club set is the fact that they are all made for beginner golfers .

One of the things we love most about this particular Bazooka Golf Club set is that it will work for a beginner golfer all the way to a middle handicapper .

The Bazooka Tour Edge 470 has a really great set makeup with a mix of fairways and hybrids that will have you set with all the golf clubs you will ever need to excel in this game.

Some may eventually add in a lob wedge , but you are undoubtedly fine to get by without it for a while.

Shaft Options

The Bazooka Golf Clubs do not have any customizable shafts or shaft options. The woods are going to have graphite shafts, and the irons will have a stainless steel shaft in them.

Some Bazooka sets do give you the option for graphite in the irons as well, but this will change the price slightly. You will also get a cart bag with the graphite shaft irons, with the steel shafts you get a stand bag.

The flex is going to be a uniflex shaft that will feel very close to a regular stainless steel golf shaft.

Look/Sound/Feel

Beginners golf clubs are known for being forgiving and relatively long , but they don’t always have a great feel. This is not the case with the Tour Edge Bazooka. These clubs feel like a traditional cavity back set of irons . If you want to hit a draw or a fade, you can.

The clubs themselves are easy to hit, but they have a great look to them. Combine that with the styling and design of the stand bag, and you will not just be ready to golf, but you will look like a golfer!

Forgiveness

The sweet spot on the 460 cc driver is quite large. Even if you miss the center of the clubface on the driver, you will get plenty of distance with this golf club. The irons have a very low center of gravity with a wide sole that makes them easy to hit.

Even the three and five wood have a slightly offset design to help you get the ball headed straight down the middle of the fairway.

As far as weighting is concerned, the set is a little bit light . If you have a very fast swing speed or are extremely strong, you may want to look into a club set with even more durable stainless steel shafts than these.

Considering this is a full club set with highly forgiving clubs, including fairway woods and hybrids , the price is pretty incredible.

You will have a hard time finding a better deal than this for the quality that you get with the Tour Edge Bazooka set.

Pros and Cons of The Tour Edge Bazooka 470

The Tour Edge Bazooka 470 golf set has both positives and negatives. Like any golf product, you can’t expect that the Tour Edge Bazooka will be the perfect fit for all players. When we look at the Tour Edge set there are more positives than negatives. Before you make your final purchase consider some of these positives and negatives.

  • Great set makeup
  • Comes with two fairway woods
  • Has two hybrid clubs included in the set
  • Large 460cc driver head
  • Forgiving golf putter
  • Large golf bag with plenty of storage
  • Total of six irons included
  • Can work for the higher handicapper and beginner or the mid handicapper
  • Not a great option for the high swing speed player
  • Clubs do not have as much longevity as a premium golf set from Tour Edge or another brand

Frequently Asked Questions

Many golfers wonder if the Tour Edge Bazooka 470 could be a good fit for their game. There are many complete set options like this Tour Edge on the market and it can take some time and dedication to narrow down which are the best for your needs. Let’s take a look at a few of the questions golfers have about the Tour Edge Bazooka 470 and the Tour Edge brand in general.

Who Should Play With The Tour Edge Bazooka 470?

The Tour Edge Bazooka 470 is the perfect complete set option for a golfer that is new to the game or plays an occasional round and does not want to spend a fortune on a completely new set of golf clubs.

The Bazooka has very fair pricing and the playability of the set is quite good. Golfers will find that they can enjoy forgiveness and feel with the Bazooka and not be restricted because of the set having a small sweet spot or difficult to flex golf shafts.

With the Tour Edge Bazooka, we typically see players in the mid to high handicap range go for this set of clubs. In addition, if you are on a budget but still want some quality and technology the Bazooka 470 could be a great overall choice.

Are The Tour Edge Bazooka 470 Clubs Good?

The Tour Edge Bazooka 470 clubs are good and they are a solid fit for many players looking for an increase in technology for a very fair price. If your golf set is a bit outdated and you need to upgrade everything at once, the Tour Edge Bazooka 470 is a great choice.

Many complete set options from manufacturers use basic technology and they try and release a set of clubs at a low price just to attract the budget shopper. Although the Tour Edge golf clubs are fairly priced, they are also known for being forgiving and having plenty of distance.

We can’t tell you that the Tour Edge will have anywhere near the technology of something like the new TaylorMade Stealth but you are also going to be looking at two completely different price ranges.

Overall the technology featured in the Tour Edge Bazooka 470 makes them a very good choice for a large group of golfers.

Is Tour Edge A Good Golf Brand?

Tour Edge is a good golf brand but it may not be as well known as other golf brands. The Tour Edge company focuses on fairly priced golf equipment for the average player. There is a division of this company that will also work with players who are looking to try and perfect their game and lower scores, but that is a smaller division and those are the Tour Edge Exotics.

The Tour Edge brand does not advertise nearly as much as other golf manufacturers and that is partly why some golfers wonder if the products are good. If you are not being shown all of the latest releases from a company you may wonder what the reasoning is behind this.

The good thing about seeing less advertising from a brand is that their marketing expenses are lower and the overall product prices may also be lower.

Are Tour Edge Clubs Forgiving?

The Tour Edge golf clubs, especially those in the Bazooka 470 set are very forgiving. The clubs are perimeter weighed cavity back irons. In addition, the fairway woods have large sweet spots and the hybrids have a bit of extra weight to help them pull through the rough to hit a great shot.

With the shafts in the Tour Edge golf clubs, there is also quite a bit of forgiveness and high launch that golfers will see. If you struggle to get the ball up high enough or have a problem with dispersion, the Tour Edge golf clubs could be a perfect fit for your needs.

Why Are Tour Edge Golf Clubs Less Expensive?

Tour Edge golf clubs are less expensive because they have different marketing and business strategies and try to appeal to the golfer that is on a budget. If you are one of these players the Tour Edge brand is good to consider.

In addition, if you are looking for individual clubs that are not part of the Tour Edge Bazooka set you may be able to get them custom ordered through the Tour Edge website for a very fair price. Many golfers need custom-fit golf clubs and this requires you to purchase something brand new from a top manufacturer.

Luckily Tour Edge also allows for custom fit golf clubs but the price point is considerably lower. Most golfers can get irons for a little less than $100 an iron which is something that we typically don’t see from custom golf clubs.

The fact that Tour Edge golf clubs are slightly less expensive should not be something that keeps you from purchasing this brand. The lower price has nothing to do with the overall quality of the product.

Alternatives

If the Bazooka 470 isn’t for you, there are other options out there.

These three are the most closely related to the golfer that would be interested in the Tour Edge Bazooka.

Tour Edge Bazooka 370

tour edge bazooka geomax 2 irons review

  • Priced lower than the Bazooka 470
  • Good set makeup for a beginner
  • Lightweight bag
  • Shafts are not quite as strong as 470
  • Better suited for beginner

The Tour Edge Bazooka 370 is the little brother to the 470. This set will be a bit more forgiving and have a more oversized clubhead design.

If you are a newer golfer and like the complete option that the 470 gives but are not sure you want to spend as much money, the 370 makes a great choice.

These clubs have a very thin face , which will help you get a little more distance than the clubs you are currently playing with. This set includes a Driver , 3 & 5 wood , 4 Hybrid , 5-SW , and a putter .

So the set makeup is similar to the Tour Edge Bazooka 470, except you get one more iron and one less hybrid. It still comes with steel shafts and a lightweight stand bag.

Callaway Strata Tour

tour edge bazooka geomax 2 irons review

  • Price is very fair, similar to Tour Edge
  • Easy to hit clubs
  • Tour model is more for players that have played some golf
  • Not for faster swing speeds

Callaway makes quite a few complete club set options. However, the one that is most similar is the Callaway Strata Tour .

The Tour comes in both a stiff and regular golf shaft , so it is geared for the player that a bit more of an idea as to what their game is capable of.

Just like the Tour Edge Bazooka, the Callaway comes with a 460cc driver and all the clubs necessary to put together a complete easy to hit set.

The Callaway has the name brand behind it, but the player with more experience should look more at the 470 than the Callaway Strata Tour.

Cobra Speed XL

tour edge bazooka geomax 2 irons review

  • Complete set makeup
  • Stainless steel irons
  • Great set for the price
  • More expensive than the 470

Last is the Cobra Speed Complete Set . The Cobra is a bit more of a premium option than the Tour Edge Bazooka, and because of that, you will pay a bit more money for it.

The Cobra Speed will have a complete set makeup with two hybrids and two fairways.

If you are a mid handicap golfer that is looking for a great value with plenty of forgiveness and performance , the Cobra is a great choice. This set will have a better feel than any of the other options in this review.

Hopefully, this Tour Edge Bazooka review helped you learn more about what these clubs can offer your game. Choosing a set of clubs can be difficult.

Some may have a driver you love, but the irons are not right for your game. Another may have great short game tools but terrible long game tools.

The Tour Edge Bazooka is a wonderful option because it gives you a quality product across the long and short game.

The 460cc driver, the stainless steel-shafted irons, and even the forgiving and great feeling putter make this set one of the best values on the market.

The glittering towers of the Moscow City business district dominate the skyline of the Russian capital. The sleek glass-and-steel buildings — designed to attract investment amid an economic boom in the early 2000s — are a dramatic, modern contrast to the rest of the more than 800-year-old city.

Now they are a sign of its vulnerability, following a series of drone attacks that rattled some Muscovites and brought the war in Ukraine home to the seat of Russian power .

The attacks on Sunday and Tuesday aren’t the first to hit Moscow — a drone even struck the Kremlin harmlessly in May. But these latest blasts, which caused no casualties but blew out windows on a high-rise building and sent glass cascading to the streets, seemed particularly unsettling.

“It’s very frightening because you wake up at night hearing explosions,” said a woman who identified herself only as Ulfiya as she walked her dog, adding that she lived in a nearby building. Like other Muscovites interviewed by the Associated Press, she did not identify herself further out of fear of retribution or for her personal safety.

Another resident, who gave her name as Ekaterina, said Tuesday’s blast “sounded like thunder.”

“I think for the first time, I got really scared,” she said. “I don’t understand how people in a war zone can live like this every day and not go mad.”

Russia says Moscow and Crimea hit by Ukrainian drones while Russian forces bombard Danube port

Russian authorities accuse Ukraine of a drone attack on Moscow, while Russia continues barrage on ports, striking on the Danube River.

July 24, 2023

The Russian Defense Ministry said it shot down two Ukrainian drones outside Moscow and had electronically jammed another, sending it crashing into the IQ-Quarter skyscraper that houses government offices including the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications and the Ministry of Industry and Trade — the same building that was hit Sunday.

A cordon went up around the building and personnel from the fire department and the Russian Investigative Committee were at the scene. Hours later, residents strolled through the district along the Moscow River or sat on benches in the sunshine. By about 1 p.m. Tuesday, workers were already starting to replace damaged windows.

The business district, a 10-minute subway ride west of the Kremlin, is home to some of Moscow’s flashiest restaurants, offering far-reaching views of the capital and a menu of upscale fare like three types of caviar, shellfish from Russia’s Far East and French cuisine.

But there was no escaping the grim news.

While Russian state television has largely played down the strikes, one channel sandwiched a segment on how Moscow’s air defenses successfully intercepted the drones in between reports highlighting Russian attacks on Ukraine.

Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to President Volodymyr Zelensky, said in Ukraine that Moscow “is rapidly getting used to a full-fledged war,” without confirming or denying Kyiv’s involvement in the drone attacks that in recent days have struck from the capital to the Crimean Peninsula.

After Sunday’s strike, the Kremlin said security would be ramped up.

Still, the size of the drone that hit the Moscow City district led analysts to question the effectiveness of the capital’s air defenses, suggesting it could have been launched from Ukraine.

“If this is the case, this would be rather embarrassing for Russia’s air defenses. If a drone has been in Russian airspace for hours, air defenses should have picked it up earlier and shot it down earlier,” said Ulrike Franke, an expert in drones and military technology at the European Council on Foreign Relations.

While they haven’t caused much physical damage, bringing the drone campaign to Moscow “blows holes in Russia’s narrative that the war on Ukraine is successful and that it is being prosecuted far away from any consequences for the Russian people themselves,” said Keir Giles, a Russia expert at the Chatham House think tank in London.

“That is something which is going to be harder and harder for Russia’s propaganda machine to explain away,” he said.

In Ukraine, a harvest of death as bodies of the fallen are returned to their hometowns

Even far from Ukraine’s front lines, military funerals set off waves of mourning. ‘You can’t see an end to it,’ one chaplain says as the war drags on.

June 26, 2023

A Muscovite who identified himself to the AP only as Eldar summed up the strikes this way: “We attack them, they attack us. And it’s obvious that they will succeed somewhere, and we will succeed somewhere. We should try to strengthen the defense.”

In Odintsovo, where some of the drones were downed about 18 miles southwest of the capital, some residents discussed the events on their local Telegram channel.

One woman talked about hearing noises that turned out to be a car or improperly closed trash containers, and seeing what she thought were drones but actually were a flock of birds, a plane and a wind-blown plastic bag.

“How is it possible to live like this?” she asked the group.

“Stop creating panic,” one member admonished her.

“If you hear a noise, be happy because it hasn’t hit you,” added another.

Burrows reported from Tallinn, Estonia.

Tour Edge Bazooka Geomax Fairway Woods

Tour edge bazooka geomax fairway woods .

The GeoMax hybrids make hitting long shots easier than ever. Designed to maximize MOI, the GeoMax has a deeper than traditional breadth-to-face measurement that makes the club more stable and remarkably forgiving. To lower the center of gravity and increase the MOI, the GeoMax featured a 20-gram sole weight. The result is higher, longer, more accurate shots. For even greater clubhead stability, the hybrid's low profile, wide-design head has a Carpenter steel face which is incredibly strong.

USER REVIEWS

I have tried many hybrids without much success due to not knowing how to use them and not sticking with them. I am now extremely pleased to report that I have found one that is easy to hit and long. Hitting it now like an iron I am hitting this #4 hybrid 185-195 yards consistently straight. Very tough to miss hit it. I have a problem with pull hooks. I get a little draw or straight ball with less effort and thoughts with this club. I am now getting the 5 hybrid and will add the 3 in the future. Once you make the commitment to using a hybrid and find one you like they are amazing. Tour Edge has a winner. Not expensive, explosive.

Similar Products Used:

Nickent,La Jolla, Cobra Baffler, Callaway Heavenwood, Ping G2, Taylor Made Rescue.

I have the 2,3,4,5 and 6 hybrid. The 3,4,5 are my favorite clubs in my bag. These don't balloon on me like my Nickent 3DX hybrids did, plus I have much better consistency, albeit consistent distance, with these that any other hybrid I have tried. I know they are not expensive, but for me they work very well. I love they way they feel and sound. Playing off a 8 handicap with a very bad elbow, these give me back my distance, lost with regular irons.

Customer Service

Limited to emails, and they respond within hours.

Cleveland Halo. Wilson Fybrid. Other wilson models. Taylormade various models. Nicket 3dx. too many.

I bought this club two months ago to take the place of fairway woods. It sets up nicely and has good feel. However, in spite of a high launch shaft I have a terrible time hitting anything but a low hook. When I hit a reasonable shot it is a very forgiving club. I have a Nickent 4 hybrid that launches much higher. I would have probably purchased a Nickent, but could not find a 3 hybrid that was left handed.

Nickent hybrid

I bought this club for my dad b/c I didn't want to spend alot of money, and I have to say the Geomax is a pleasant surprise. The face is carpenter steel and the feel at impact is very satisfying. Very solid feel. The club is balanced and has good weight to it. I also bought a Burner steel 07 3-wood for my dad, and he likes and hits the Geomax better. I've bought a number of woods in the past two years, and I can attest the Geomax is a quality club that performs.

Tour Edge is very good with email responses.

I bought and traded-- 909f2, F50/F60, R5/R7/Vsteel/Burner st, Cally X/Bertha 07/2008 X/Fusion/FT/FTi, G2/G5/G10/Rapture, Launcher st/XLS, CB1, RPM/Insight Bul-- whew.

Tour Edge what else is there to say. They make the best Drivers,Fairway and Hybrids on the market. This club is the easiest club in my bag to hit, just a nice smooth swing and watch it fly high, long and land soft. What more can you ask for? It sets up with a easy to look at head. The stock shafts are great if you buy within your swing speed, everything works like a swiss clock. Don't let the name fool you this is a top quality product.

Have never needed to use

TaylorMade, Titleist, Bridgestone

this is a great club. notin bad to say about it. built great and very solid. very good price and nothi can beat this club.

I haven't been this excited since I first hit a Mizuno iron. Extraordinary distance and control. Since I am such a hack, I actually felt guilty hitting such good shots. Who'd have thunk that you can spend so little to buy a better game.

Dmitri Jurowski

Moscow City Symphony-Russian Philharmonic/Dmitri Jurowski – review

G lorying in a name that seems to have been chosen by a very large committee, the Moscow City Symphony-Russian Philharmonic is a smart modern orchestra based in the city's glitzy modern concert hall . Judging by its London debut, however, it is old-school where it counts.

Its chief conductor is Dmitri Jurowski , and his appearance meant there would be a Jurowski on the Festival Hall podium four times in a week; big brother Vladimir was in the audience to cheer him on. The programme was Russian and proud. Extracts from Prokofiev's ballet Cinderella immediately introduced a distinctive sound, soft-edged but hefty, with well-blended strings underpinned by weighty low woodwind; the rasp of the bass clarinet and contrabassoon were to become gratifyingly familiar sounds.

But not so much in Prokofiev's Third Piano Concerto, in which the orchestra seemed to be consciously ceding focus to Alexander Ghindin 's piano playing. While Ghindin was all offhand, unfussy brilliance, the orchestra were neat and contained – except, that is, for the opening of the slow movement, when the flute phrasing made the melody sound positively flirty, and Ghindin responded in smooth, almost louche style. His encore, Rachmaninov's G minor Prelude, whizzed by in a flurry of sonorous chords, but the richness with which he brought out the secondary melodies in the middle section spoke of attention to detail worn lightly.

That was just a taster for the main Rachmaninov event – the colossus that is the Symphony No 2, approached by Jurowski with a certain lightness of touch and all the better for it. It was because he began the third movement so gently and at so flowing a pace that he was able to make such an impact with the sense of stillness after its climax. The second movement was crisp, the finale buoyant – and the encore, the Infernal Dance from Stravinsky's Firebird, was a flamboyant signoff from an orchestra confident of hitting its mark.

Only in Russia!

Ask us for availabilities

Starts at 9am

Duration: 1 day

Tour available in

Want to ride a tank? Of course you do.

Welcome to Russia, where everything and anything is possible—especially riding on a tank, shooting an AK-47 and a bazooka, all while drinking vodka.

At Put-in tours, we have put together the ultimate excursion for men (and their girlfriends). Join us in our Soviet van for an entire afternoon of all-inclusive Russian fun on the battlefield!

Start by visiting Park Patriot, the impressive Russian army exhibition center and museum. There, try your driving skills at the T-80 tank official simulator ,  before you ride on two iconic Soviet armored vehicles (BMP-1 and/or BTR-80) on an off-road training path. Along the way, hone your skills while a drill sergeant shouts commands at you. You may not understand, but impress him anyway with your grenade launching technique and AK-47 assembling speed. Or suffer the consequences.

After that, take another shot of vodka , enjoy the army field lunch provided, and move on to the next activity…

Tank & Shooting Excursion

Honey, I shot a bazooka!

Phase two brings a variety of iconic Russian war weapons to the tip of your trigger finger. Learn about and test the Makarov PM, PPSH-41, Kalashnikov AK-47, RPK, DP28 machine gun, several semi-auto or auto carbines and more… Firing off a bazooka is the grand finale, sure to leave you breathless—just before you send the photos to your mom.

To prevent you from inadvertently blowing up your best friend or transforming your girlfriend into a strainer, we only use non-lethal (but real!) ammo.

And because you’ll want to keep the good times rolling, we also offer a 10% discount on pub-crawl tickets.

Down-side is the durability. Have had the clubs for just one season and already broke 4 different club heads from the shaft. Fortunately Tour Edge has a lifetime warranty, but the two - three week wait for the club to be repaired is getting old. The street price makes them a value - $400- $500.

The shaft is a Grafalloy made to Tour Edge's specifications. In stiff, it's a 65-gram model with 3.8 degrees of torque (moderately low) and rated as a mid-launch stick. More on its performance later, but in this flex it does seem to have a slightly softer tip than some other shafts I've tried this year. The grip is branded for Tour Edge.

Tour Edge Bazooka 370. The Tour Edge Bazooka 370 is the little brother to the 470. This set will be a bit more forgiving and have a more oversized clubhead design.
