The Enterprise Center, located in downtown St. Louis, Missouri, officially opened its doors on October 8, 1994. Since its inception, this state-of-the-art sports and entertainment complex has been the primary home for the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL). In addition to hosting the Blues’ games, the Enterprise Center has been the venue for various other events, such as NCAA basketball and hockey matches, concerts, and professional wrestling.

The arena was initially known as the Kiel Center, but it underwent several name changes throughout its history. In May 2018, the St. Louis Blues organization and Enterprise entered into a 15-year building naming rights agreement, officially branding the venue as the “Enterprise Center” and solidifying Enterprise’s commitment to the St. Louis Blues and the city.

Some of the notable events that have taken place at the Enterprise Center include the 1998 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Midwest Regional, the 2001 NCAA Frozen Four, the 2005 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Final Four, and the 2007 Frozen Four. In its first season under the Enterprise Center name, the venue witnessed the St. Louis Blues winning their first-ever Stanley Cup in the NHL, making it an unforgettable moment for both the team and the fans.

Throughout its existence, the Enterprise Center has made significant improvements and renovations to enhance the overall experience for fans and visitors. These upgrades have catered to various aspects, including modernizing the amenities, expanding food and beverage options, and maintaining top-notch facilities and equipment.

After 51 years of service, the historic aircraft carrier is about to be decommissioned

Rebecca Maksel

When the USS  Enterprise  (CVN 65) sailed away from Norfolk, Virginia,  on its maiden voyage in 1962, it was the world’s first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier, and the eighth  Enterprise  in a long dynasty reaching back to the Revolutionary War. Its eight nuclear reactors, reported the  Chicago Daily Defender , had an energy potential "as great as that of all the reactors in the free world." The most recent  Enterprise  played a role in the Cuban Missile Crisis, along with other ships in the Second Fleet, blockading shipments of military equipment to Cuba. During the height of the Vietnam War, nearly 100 aircraft were launched each day from the  Enterprise , laden with explosives and bound for the Ho Chi Minh Trail. After the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, the carrier—headed home after a long deployment—steamed overnight to the North Arabian Sea to  participate in Operation Enduring Freedom. On December 1, 2012, the carrier will be inactivated, ending 51 years of service. See the gallery below for more about its history. Pictured above: Two F/A-18 Super Hornets fly past the  Enterprise  on its last deployment, on October 4, 2012.

None

There has been an Enterprise since 1775, when Captain James Smith was ordered to Lake Champlain to take command of the 70-ton sloop that originally belonged to the British. Enterprise II was an eight-gun schooner purchased in 1776 that convoyed transports in the Chesapeake Bay. Enterprise III, a 12-gun schooner, searched for British privateers off the coast of Maine in 1812. Enterprise IV launched from the New York Navy Yard in 1831; while Enterprise V, a steam corvette with auxiliary sail power, was commissioned in 1877. Enterprise VI performed harbor tug duties at Newport, Rhode Island in 1917, eventually transferring to the Bureau of Fisheries in 1919. Then came the famous Enterprise VII (CV 6), a Yorktown-class carrier that joined the fleet in 1936. During World War II, the U.S. Navy participated in 41 battles in the Pacific, and the Enterprise was involved in 20 of them. When the carrier was decommissioned, the Navy promised that the first nuclear-powered aircraft carrier would bear the same name. Here TBM Avengers land on the Enterprise (CV-6) during the Gilberts Operation, November 22, 1943.

Carrier Air Wing One

None

The USS Enterprise is home to the seven squadrons of Carrier Air Wing One, which fly F/A-18C Hornets; F/A-18E Super Hornets; F/A-18F Super Hornets; E-2C Hawkeyes; EA-6B Prowlers; SH-60F and HH-60H Seahawks; and C-2 Greyhounds. Above, aircraft assigned to Carrier Air Wing One fly in formation over the USS Enterprise during an air power demonstration.

Catapult Test

None

The Enterprise can accommodate 60+ aircraft in its hangar bay and on the flight deck. The carrier has four 286-foot-long steam catapults; in this October 2012 photograph, sailors are surrounded by steam during an aircraft catapult test on the flight deck.

Red Rippers

None

The Red Rippers, commissioned in 1927, are the U.S. Navy's oldest continuously active fighter squadron. The squadron first flew the Curtiss F6C-3 Hawk, which had a maximum speed of 155 mph. In 2005, the Rippers transitioned to the F/A-18F Super Hornet (shown here over the Arabian Sea in September 2012), which can travel at a blistering Mach 1.8+, or 1,190 mph. Read about the squadron's 80 years of continuous service flying 26 different aircraft aboard 25 different aircraft carriers.

Screwtops Squadron

None

The Screwtops squadron (more formally known as Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 123) was commissioned in 1964, flying the Northrop Grumman E-2A. During the Gulf War, the Screwtops was the only squadron to operate in both the Red Sea and the Arabian Gulf (learn more here). In 2003, in northern Afghanistan, the squadron pioneered night vision for this aircraft, which can detect—and track—more than 600 targets anywhere within a 3 million cubic mile area. In this photograph, an E-2C Hawkeye sits on the flight deck of USS Enterprise in the Gulf of Aden, October 8, 2012.

EA-6B Prowlers

None

Commissioned in 1973, the Rooks Electronic Attack Squadron 137 has flown three versions of the EA-6B Prowler on board six different carriers. The squadron's first deployment was with the USS Enterprise in 1974, assisting with the evacuation of Americans from Saigon. The storied squadron was on station in January 1981 when Iran released 52 American hostages, held since November 1979. Most recently, the squadron has supported operations in the Persian Gulf. Read about the Rooks' history here. At right, two EA-6B Prowlers assigned to the Rooks fly in formation over the USS Enterprise in the Arabian Sea (October 15, 2012).

Dragonslayers

None

First established in 1957, the Dragonslayers of Helicopter Antisubmarine Squadron 11 originally flew the Sikorsky HSS-1 Seabat. They would be the first antisubmarine warfare squadron deployed, in 1969, as part of a modern carrier air wing, on board the Forrestal . The squadron specialized in astronaut recovery during that decade, scooping up various Gemini crew members including Ed White, James McDivitt, James Lovell, and Buzz Aldrin. Today the Dragonslayers use the Sikorsky HH-60H (here, a Seahawk in the Atlantic Ocean in October 2012) to insert Navy SEALs behind enemy lines, attack submerged targets, and transfer cargo. What will happen to Enterprise VIII after it's decommissioned? According to the Navy's Enterprise page, the carrier will remain at Norfolk for six months offloading equipment, then will be towed to Huntington Ingalls Industries at Newport News Shipyard for inactivation. After that, Enterprise will be towed to Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for dismantling and recycling. The four-year process will take longer than it did to construct the carrier.

Take An Immersive Tour Through TNG’s Enterprise-D In Stunning VR

enterprise tours

It’s happened to just about every Star Trek fan young and old: the inescapable fantasy to step onto the bridge of our favorite starships, to walk through the corridors, and stare out at a brilliant starfield as the ship whisks you – and your imagination – into the… Final Frontier .

Stage 9 developer Rob Bryan steps into this fantasy every day. And now, so can you.

A Virtual Enterprise-D Recreation

This is all thanks to virtual reality, both in the conceptual sense of a 3D image on a 2D display, like most video games, and in the sense of the still nascent but inherently  Star Trek -esque VR technology like the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. Indeed, our first glimpses of this kind of technology were seen first on The Next Generation , so what better place to replicate in virtual reality than the legendary Enterprise-D herself?

Bryan, along with a dedicated and enthusiastic team of developers at Stage 9, is recreating the entirety of the Enterprise using Unreal Engine 4, a game engine known for its level of detail and relative ease of use. And while their work-in-progress is steadily advancing toward Trekkie perfection, the results so far are still, in a word, amazing.

enterprise tours

The Enterprise-D bridge, as recreated in Stage 9

Building the Enterprise, One Room At A Time

“ Star Trek has been important to me as long as I can remember, and throughout every episode of TNG specifically, I thought about how great it would be to actually walk around that ship myself,” Bryan told TrekNews.net. “I can’t remember a time when I didn’t want to do that.”

Players have the freedom to roam the  Enterprise , traversing decks, entering rooms, and interacting with objects in the world. Stage 9 is designed using sets seen on the show, and lesser-known sources like production plans that designer Rick Sternbach released in the 1990s. And for those parts of the ship that have no reference material at all, Bryan and his team sometimes indulge in their own inspiration to faithfully recreate these never-before-seen parts of the ship. The result is a massive, explorable environment that isn’t so much a game, as a simulation.

The technology to accomplish this goal has only recently become available, but attempts have been made before. Consider, for example, the secret room in the 1991 game Duke Nukam . A neat little easter egg, but far from a fully realized recreation. Or consider the excellent  Star Trek: Elite Force and its “virtual Voyager” mode, where the player could walk the corridors and rooms of Voyager . Pretty neat and surprisingly immersive,  but the technical limitations of 2001 still held the mode back from the realistic feel many were yearning for. Now, the power of modern video game technology allows Bryan and his team to faithfully recreate intricate details on the Enterprise. And with the release of the Star Trek: The Next Generation Blu-Rays, more detail than ever is available for reference.

Which chair will you sit in?

The Method Behind the Madness

So why the Enterprise-D ? Well, that comes down to creator preference. Bryan says he grew a stronger connection to TNG than the other  Star Trek shows, thanks to that show’s “sense of wonderment” which accompanied the adventures of Captain Picard and his crew. But more than that, Bryan found a “comforting” aesthetic to the Enterprise set he felt was missing from other shows. But as Bryan notes, recreating that set isn’t as easy as mimicking design. This is where the project’s greatest challenge presents itself.

“The fact that making this an actual 3D space that made sense was great fun for everyone involved, but definitely challenging,” explains Bryan. “How do we make this area ‘feel’ like something you’d see on the show? How would we approach the decor? What purpose would this particular room serve?”

enterprise tours

The rarely seen Shuttlebay 1, expanded by the Stage 9 team.

It’s questions like these the developers ask themselves when recreating parts of the ship, especially parts viewers have only caught glimpses of. Take for example Shuttlebay 1, the biggest shuttle bay on the ship, but one we’ve only seen a part of in the episode “Cause and Effect.” There’s not a lot of reference material, even with Sternbach’s designs, so the Stage 9 team had to take great care in maintaining the aesthetic of the show, while making this mostly-new space interesting for the player to walk around in.

It may surprise people that this labor of love is completely free to use, especially since Bryan and others work hours upon hours every day to push out frequent updates and improvements to the stimulation.

“ Star Trek is something that means a lot to many people, including all of us involved in Stage 9. This is something Patrick Stewart himself said when  announcing his return to Picard, and it resonated significantly with the Stage 9 team: ‘ The Next Generation brought people comfort, saw them through difficult periods in their lives or how the example of Jean-Luc inspired so many to follow in his footsteps, pursuing science, exploration, and leadership.’ Stage 9 itself is our way of paying respect to something we all love.”

Those who wish to step onto the Enterprise with or without a VR headset can do so simply by going to the Stage 9 website . Just check to make sure your computer meets the required specifications. You can also join the team’s Discord to contribute your feedback and help make the stimulation better.

The future is bright for the Stage 9 team. While they still have plenty of work on the Enterprise-D ahead of them – including (at some point in the future) implementing the most requested feature: multiplayer – recreations of other ships are viable down the line. For now, players can be treated to an increasingly immersive recreation of the ship seen most in Star Trek . While players will have to deal with some bugs and performance issues, the trade-off is an opportunity to indulge in our imaginations. Indeed, what better way is there to describe Star Trek ?

Check out the gallery below to view more images from Stage 9’s impressive recreation.

Seems the VR version is not available for download on their site. A temporary bummer!

' data-srcset=

Paramount/CBS killed a similar project a few years back. I would download a copy of this sooner rather than later if you are eager to play with this at some point.

' data-srcset=

Still looks like a flying dentist’s office, but dated aesthetic or no, I am hot to try this.

' data-srcset=

THAT’S THE GREATEST THING!! A thing I dreamed of almost all of my life!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

' data-srcset=

I just got an Occ Rift and can’t think of better use than reliving all those hours spent watching THG. I can see a possible future where you could be in the middle of an episode either as a virtual Q, just watching the story unfold, or taking the place of a minor crewman that can watch and interact without affecting the actual story.

' data-srcset=

Great coverage of Stage9! Glad more people are seeing this develop. Correction: ‘ the secret room in the 1991 game Duke Nukam’ should be: ‘1996 game Duke Nukem 3D’

' data-srcset=

Although they say they’re just doing the Ent-D, one of the gallery images above clearly shows the TOS bridge, presumably from the “Relics” holodeck recreation, so there’s still that. This isn’t the first time something like this has been done: way back in the 1990s there was a similar walkthrough produced, though I don’t think it was as immersive (it was more a case of jumping between rooms). The idea of a fully immersive 3-D walkthrough of an Enterprise has been a dream of a lot of people for decades. Way back around 1980 the “Bill Budge 3-D Graphics Tool” came out for the Apple II Plus and I know some people were trying to create a walkthrough of the Enterprise. So this is a dream come true if it all comes together.

Enterprise D looks so much better than that ugly Discovery ship.

This is amazing! The D is the only Enterprise for me!

New Roddenberry Site Offers Virtual USS Enterprise Bridge Tours, Including Ships From ‘Star Trek: Picard’

Roddenberry Entertainment has been working with technology company OTOY on “The Roddenberry Archive” for the last few years with the goal of creating a digital archive of the work of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry. The initial focus of this project has been virtual recreations of Star Trek ships bearing the name USS Enterprise, and they have just launched a brand-new portal where you can tour the iconic bridges.

Tour the Enterprises

The new free web portal includes many iterations of bridges for ships named Enterprise across Star Trek history. You can tour the different ships via a timeline and expand into each bridge for a 360-degree tour. In some cases, bridge details include working turbo lifts and consoles.

A visit to Veridian III

Season 3 of Star Trek: Picard did an update on Star Trek history, adding to the events of the movie Star Trek: Generations . This includes the saucer of the Enterprise-D being recovered from Veridian III and restored by Geordi La Forge at the Starfleet Museum. The new virtual tour reflects this update to Trek history.

The Roddenberry Archive is a collaboration that involves a number of key figures in Star Trek history who helped build these iconic ships, including Denise and Michael Okuda, Doug Drexler, Daren Dochterman, and now Picard production designer Dave Blass. They are also getting help from Picard showrunner Terry Matalas, Star Trek star William Shatner, and Q himself, John de Lancie.

This introductory video narrated by de Lancie gives you a brief history of the USS Enterprise.

Another new video released today focuses on the USS Enterprise-D, with a history of the bridge design and details about the reconstruction for Star Trek: Picard .

They also released a preview of their extended interview with William Shatner.

For more about the Roddenberry Archive, see the Deadline report about today’s announcement and visit the new web portal at roddenberry.x.io .

The Roddenberry Archive Recreates Sets From First ‘Star Trek’ Pilot “The Cage”

Here’s hoping we get the Rodenberry-Archive Vol 2 Blu-Ray then.

yes, please

The post Star Trek Generations video was very cool.

it was but also didn’t make much sense. Why would Spock have any memory of the Enterprise’s destruction over Genesis, and why would he be reflecting on that in TMP era? Weird. Technically awesome but weird

Spock probably didn’t see the Enterprise destroyed, but Kirk did. Could a Vulcan mindmeld with a dead human? Doubtful. He could with a resurrected one, though. Hmm.

Anyway, these videos do have a weird scattered memory vibe. It will be interesting to see what comes next.

Maybe because his Katra was in McCoy.

Oh, good point.

Exactly. Spock’s body did not witness anything but his Katra aka soul did via McCoy

Spock didn’t witness the destruction of the Enterprise but McCoy did. And they had a pretty in depth mind melt katra sharing session going on at Vulcan

Awesome they brought back Leonard Nimoy digitally. These, along with Yeoman Colt, would make great Short Treks.

As I understand it, that’s not a digital Nimoy, it’s an actor made to look like him with makeup and so forth. Whatever they did, it looks amazing.

It was an actor, then they put Nimoy’s face on it digitally. It’s not the actor’s face.

According to their website, it was makeup and prosthetics. There’s BTS pics you can find there.

Following the rabbit hole of Lawrence Selleck, that is one hell of an amazing transformation. I’m nearly speechless.

Yeah, if someone looks THAT much like Nimoy — dude, you’re Nimoy. :D

Lol, sure it’s not. Dude, trust your eyes and don’t overthink this.

There was a lot about this awhile back, the guy’s resemblance is amazing in b-t-s imagery. I think there was some digital sweetening that actually soured the look, because the imagery as I recall had a CG feel, whereas the guy just being shot looked like the real deal.

Interesting!

What has Colt?

Showing the sets of the Cage.

Someone from the original pilot and Yeoman Rand’s predecessor.

No, I knew who Colt is; I just wondered how she came up here.

Big shout out to the team who created the makeup and prosthetics for Spock. They’ve done amazing work.

TOS bridge, so sweet. Movie era bridge, awesome. Star Trek IV bridge, sooo good!! Colors, displays, function. Star Trek V/VI – probably the best (not sure why I like the white color scheme in IV). SNW best bridge ever? But TNG, Ent D,E,F… suddenly space is at a premium and they make no sense, walls of non function and/or stations way off that no one can communicate with the Captain. No wonder they need chairs for the shrink on the bridge after that. The TNG, I now think it would be soo funny if the carpet lit on fire, that’s got to happen in Lower Decks. The only thing on the F I like is those consoles getting some heads up displays, I guess that might work to make these far off stations useful and able to communicate with the Captain. Anyone shocked Shelby got phasered from the front as opposed to someone just walking in the door and shooting her in the back? All that wasted space with no function. Someone give the G a new bridge. Cool video with Spock. Though in the one scene where he recalls the Enterprise falling through the Genesis Planet atmosphere, pretty sure he should be wearing the red monster maroons (the best Trek uniforms!).

The various bridges we never saw- from Star Trek Is, Planet of the Titans, Phase II- all look really cool.

It would be cool if some of these came into canon.

In fact, with the 32nd century drawing in more mid-70s Space 1999 design language, some of these might work better there.

Roddenberry or paramount should buy the “stage 9” called simulation/recreation of the entire enterprise d interrior which was shut down by cbs years ago. Such a huge shame, this had so much potential and looked sooo accurate and photorealistic!

I think at least one developer from Stage 9 is working with Roddenberry on this project.

So when I met Shatner on the TOS bridge set recreation in Ticonderoga, NY for his 90th birthday celebration, I brought along my little 360 camera so that I could capture VR video of the legendary captain back in his chair. He and his PR team were so fascinated by the camera, and I implored them to consider doing a 360/VR production with Shatner while he’s still around, as a way to sort of immortalize the experience for future generations, since we really are on the cusp of creatunig truly immersive virtual worlds, but Shatner may not be around for much longer. I wonder if in some way my conversation with them was the spark for this project, because I really think it’s important work – future generations, I believe, will think of 2D video the same way we think of old, silent film. But with the leaps and bounds being taken by AI, not only will they be able to recreate the sets in some future virtual environment, but probably recreate the movies too as an interactive experience where you’re literally there. I am hoping I live to see the day when I can join Kirk and co as a member of the bridge on any one of their greatest adventures :)

I think this has been in development for quite awhile. One of the companies involved, Light Field Labs, was apparently already on the fringe of this project when I interviewed with them early in the pandemic, nearly three years back. Correction: it has been in the works much longer, see this old trekmovie story: https://trekmovie.com/2018/10/23/roddenberry-entertainment-joins-project-to-build-real-star-trek-like-holodeck/

Where is the season 2 TNG bridge and the versions from Yesterdays Enterprise, Parallels, All Good Things and Generations?

Hasten to add what was done is incredible to be sure!

There are definitely a few omissions to address.

Academy-award nominated production designer Tamara Deverell is responsible for the 1701 bridge as it appeared in Discovery S2, but the narration credits Jonathan Lee for both the Discovery and SNW versions.

Lee is responsible solely for the tweaked SNW version after the set was moved to a new, permanent soundstage.

Deverell made the effort to recreate the paint and plastic colours of the original, getting input from the 1701 recreation in NY state.

Really rather shabby omission given she’s the only woman head production designer in the history of the franchise.

I would expect the Official Archive to ensure these kinds of citations to be accurate.

Thanks for pointing this out, I’ll make sure it’s addressed on the website!

Thanks for your response.

I hope the voiceover on the video can be corrected though.

Deverell did the kind of deep dive work to recover the colours of the original, and deserves the same kind of acknowledgement that’s being given for the reproduction of the Enterprise D bridge.

This is documented in many articles from 2019. It raises genuine questions about blindspots and biases in the archive. Perhaps a featurette documenting the creation of the new 1701 bridge would address this.

See for example this from SyFy

https://www.syfy.com/syfy-wire/star-trek-discovery-designer-reveals-how-uss-enterprise-bridge-and-colors-returned?amp

Heh, these things take time, you know? Eventually, we plan on having all in there ;)

In the meantime, your video is out getting tens and hundreds of thousands of views falsely telling people that every major Trek production designer was male.

Don’t you see how a correction on a website and we’ll get to it when we get to it is not an adequate or appropriate correction for the kind of error that never should have happened?

It’s weird that they have complete bridges for seemingly small variations of some of the bridges, but the Enterprise D’s biggest changes, from Generations, aren’t represented.

That Generations short with Spock showing could use as post-credits or part of special features for a Generations Blu-Ray release.

Yeah that is incredible.

love the 360 bridge views, only wish they’d retconned the obvious CRT monitors on some of the sets

Considering they are working from a historic perspective, they should be faithful to the original.

If they were CRTs on set, then they’re CRTs. Same with the TNG consoles having visible screws. We’re recreating them as they were built. :)

Holy smokes. This is a lot of content. This is all shockingly amazing work.

I could enjoy this a lot more if they didn’t have to kill Stage 9 and other similar projects for it that I was frankly a lot more excited about

Not only is this not responsible for what happened to Stage 9, but also now several Stage 9 devs (including myself) are working on this full time!

Same. I was so excited about Stage 9. I kept up with it’s development since it started and couldn’t wait until it was complete just for it to dumped.

Hey what is 765874 ?!? I don’t suppose it could be a secret code to more of the Spock / Regeneration story. I want more!!

https://memory-beta.fandom.com/wiki/J._Mia_Colt

“ Her service number was 765874.”

Looks like a high-end “fan-film” coming down the Pike soon. Pun intended.

Oooohhh exciting. I don’t get why they didn’t have Colt in SNW honestly, or at least a cameo and then have her transfer. I mean she was in the Cage! Wow, good catch on Colt’s service #. Guess I am not the TOS fan I thought I was to not have considered that!

This all looks amazing. Spock on Veridian III wow! CGI has come so far today seeing the saucer section. And that Spock was on the mark.

But I truly love that video discussing the history of TNG and the E-D. It’s crazy a week ago I was watching that ship and bridge in live action again on an IMAX screen. Never thought we would see it again, much less in that format. TNG and the Enterprise D has been my home ship for 30 years now and I have to thank Terry Matalas and everyone responsible for bringing it back to all us fans! This is the happiest I been as a Trek fan in decades.

Thank you again.

Well said! 👍

It still doesn’t feel real they found a way to bring the D back in canon. It’s really surreal and definitely have Matalas to thank for it.

That scene with Spock was beautifully heartbreaking

This is the icing and the cake.

The Enterprise-G (aka Titan-A aka Stargazer) bridge set looks great when you can actually see it with the light on! I hope that if Legacy is green-lit, they turn the lights up on that bridge!

While the SNW bridge set is fun, it seems too busy.

Amazing. Wonderfully executed. All of the videos. (Although wonder why they would envision raising the D’s saucer with cables and not tractor beams, but whatever)

All very cool. I hope one day we get something in VR that’s as good or better than the Stage 9 recreation of the Enterprise D was. It’s such fun to be able to virtually tour those familiar sets. It was a great bonus feature to some of the old games too like Elite Force and The Fallen.

OTOY and Spock make-up BTS – https://home.otoy.com/roddenberryarchiveaug22/

I hope this portal is made available for vr headsets soon.

I’m really happy to see so much attention given to my favorite ship in the franchisee lately. The Enterprise D will probably always be my favorite although I love the E and A as well.

love all the content being created. hoping they add the generations enterprise-d refit bridge

This is awesome! But, bummed to not see the Defiant. I hope they can add other ships!

I can not find any Enterprise bridge archive on any on the links. Is it down?I can not find any Enterprise bridge archive on any on the links. Is it down?

Same here — it’s nowhere to be found :(

I would definitely recommend Tapped Enterprises to anyone planning any kind of special outing!

I have to say THANK YOU to Kevin first and foremost for dealing with the insane planning and all the changes that went along with planning my brother-in-law's bachelor party. And second, for the great time that everyone had. Our driver, Brian was so great and he was there to help us with anything we needed all night and kept us on track with the schedule to make sure we hit all the places we wanted and to get us back on time. Alot of my brother-in-law's family and friends live out of state so it was very hard to get answers as to who could make it but Kevin never gave me a problem about every time the number of people changed or i wanted to alter the itinerary. He was so cool about everything and helped me plan the whole night. He set us up with a one-hour open bar and some apps (delicious wings and mozzarella sticks) at T.J. Finley's in Bay Shore. Then we hit Verde, headed over to Mary Carroll's in Babylon and ended the night at The Scene in Commack. Brian had the bus stocked with some sodas and waters and some ice if we needed it. The bus was also really nice and very comfortable. All the guys had a really good time and I would definitely recommend Tapped Enterprises to anyone planning any kind of special outing like this. I will definitely be using them again and I would love to do one of the brewery tours! Once again, Thanks, Kevin and Brian!!!

AJ F., Farmingdale, NY

Our group will definitely remember the great day we had for years to come.

My husband, 11 of our friends and I were lucky enough to have spent a day at the Breweries with Tapped Enterprises for my husband's 30th birthday. The day was PERFECT! Kevin and the T.E. crew were very accommodating and it was clear the #1 priority was making sure everyone had a good time. Mission accomplished! I loved how the payment system was setup so everyone who was attending could pay on their own through a website setup specifically for our event. I loved our bus driver, the way the bus was setup allowing us to play our own music, and all three breweries we visited were great. We particularly loved the Great South Bay Brewery that had a foosball table and a corn hole set which added a nice twist to our last stop. I highly recommend the Beer Bus Tour and our group will definitely remember the great day we had for years to come!

Jessica L., Astoria, NY

Everyone on the bus was raving about the experience and how much fun they had.

Had an amazing experience with Tapped when I used them for my 25th birthday wine tour. Kevin and Mike were so accommodating. Everyone on the bus was raving about the experience and how much fun they had. I will be booking with Tapped in the future for many more events!!! Highly recommend

Karisa M., Medford, NY

I can't wait to plan another tour and will definitely be using tapped.

We used Tapped Enterprises for my husbands birthday, Kevin was great, he made sure we got to each place on time and was very organized. We did a brewery tour on a Sunday and everyone had a great time! I can't wait to plan another tour and will definitely be using Tapped!

Rebecca K., West Babylon, NY

I would 200% recommend tapped.

Absolutely loved this experience. I threw a surprise 30th birthday party for my boyfriend with Tapped Enterprises and Kevin and Nick (our driver) were so extremely helpful and great about it. If you love beer, this is for you. It's a different experience than the usual wine tour. Make sure you eat well before and throughout the tour because you will be getting enough beer to hold you over and outdo your body weight (not a bad thing!!). My boyfriend had a great time, and each guest did as well. It was a celebration that each and every person got to enjoy! I would 200% recommend. Thank you again for your hospitality Tapped Enterprises!

Stephanie S., Nassau, NY

Fantastic time for my husband's 40th birthday on the beer bus.

Fantastic time for my husband's 40th birthday on the beer bus with Sal! Sal, you were great! Always accommodating, but helping us with our plans to go to the breweries my husband was interested in. Everyone raved how awesome the day was! Thanks Sal for making Eric's 40th so memorable for him & all of us!!!!

Amy S., Floral Park, NY

Sit back, relax and let tapped enterprises do the rest..

What a phenomenal idea - bus tours of local breweries and beer fests!!! Sit back, relax and let Tapped Enterprises do the rest. Kevin is a great driver & host and was super knowledgeable about all the local brewers. Tours of the breweries, tastings, and snacks were included. Tours can be customized to include lunch. Limos and wine trails can be so hit or miss. It's so much better tasting beers and cheaper to fill growlers. I will recommend Tapped to everyone I know, what a great idea!

Dan L., Bellmore, NY

A fun way to tour the island's resources and not have to worry about being behind the wheel of a car.

This was my second time with Kevin on a "Tapped Enterprises" tour bus. Once was a private tour and this time a group event. We went to Orchard Vineyards, Sherwood House, and Long Ireland Brewery. Kevin is extremely personable and very knowledgeable about his stops and the Long Island Beer and Wine Scene.I highly recommend Tapped Enterprises if you're looking for a fun way to tour the Island's resources and not have to worry about being behind the wheel of a car. You know what they say.... Leave the driving to us...

Joel H., Mineola, NY

Thank you tapped enterprises for making this weekend adventure the greatest success imaginable.

We used Tapped Enterprises after researching many companies to commute our group of 30 from Long Island to various vineyards in the Hamptons. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Tapped Enterprises for being so organized and making this weekend adventure the greatest success imaginable! Our group consisted of 30 adults in their mid-20's. Our driver greeted us with the upmost level of professionalism, but we insisted he was comfortable and take is suit jacket off (it had to be 100 degrees outside that day) and join in on the fun. Our group was mixed 50/50 guys and girls. With that said the guys hoped we could stop at a brewery before the wine tasting began. Tapped Enterprises was so extremely helping working with us to ensure everyone's expectations were met. We first stopped at Great South Bay Brewery. It was a great way to start our tour, it was less than 40 minutes from where we were picked up. Each guest received 4 beer sample tickets. It was very quiet when we walked in but the fun was just beginning. The music was going and everyone was comfortable to either sit at a table, or play games like corn hole. There were many beers on tap so everyone had the opportunity to sample something they would enjoy. Second stop was at Sherwood House. Here we got to sit outside on a beautiful day while enjoying lunch and some wine. The inside of this establishment is very comfortable. The rooms were decorative and fireplace really made you feel at home. The staff working with us, Kristin, was knowledgeable and helpful with her recommendations. I will defiantly be back in the future with a smaller group to enjoy their cheese platters, oysters and lovely wine selection. Last was Vineyard 48. It was the right way to end the perfect day with an incredible view where we took loads of pictures. The young, energetic culture of this place was spot on with what we were looking for. Our party hats were on with the fun music room on one end of the venue. They handed out coins to allow us to sample wines. I was upset I did not get to sample the Sauvignon Blac as it was out, but I guess that just means I have to return. The service provided by Tapped Enterprises was great. I would have never known what places to visit in the Hamptons for this party adventure and they really did a great job planning our visits. They have great relationships with the people they work with to ensure your experience is nothing but the best.. They were aware of timeliness and helped us locate the group upon departure. Communication with this company before, during and after our trip was great. I would recommend this company to anyone and everyone I know, regardless of what kind of experience to the Hamptons you're looking for. THANK YOU!

Samantha R., Manhattan, NY

Have a great experience that you will remember for a long time and party with your friends with tapped enterprise. you won't regret it..

Kevin is the owner of this amazing business that safely takes you to different breweries in LI as your party goes bat shit crazy. Seriously. Let it loose, have some heavy duty fun, and blow off some steam in this luxury magic beer bus. Kevin will be there responsibly taking you to some great places, the coolest DD in the world. Tapped Enterprise can help give you a memorable bachelor/bachelorette/for-the-hell-of -it party. There are many tours and events you can participate in such as the Pub Crawl (in which you sample some of the coolest pubs and clubs LI has to offer), Backyard Games (an all day tournament very much like Hunger Games but without the death and blood), and the Brewery Tour (where you sample the concoctions of several breweries on Strong effing Island!).I took part in the Brewery Tour and I had a fantastic time. You start in LI's largest brewery Blue Point where you can enjoy free tastings. From there you move onto Brick House Brewery and Restaurant for more delicious beers. And then you go to the fabulous Long Ireland Beer Company in Riverhead. On my tour we also made a stop to the ultra cool Hoptron Brewery. You're probably thinking, I don't need a bus, I'll just get my frenemy to haul the crew around LI. No. You won't look super fine pulling up in your old Honda. You'll look lame. Be the rockstar that you know you are and drive in style in Kevin's sexy sleek PARTY bus. Emphasis on the PARTY because things will go down in this bus. Beer drinking, music, games, and dance parties. Have a great experience that you will remember for a long time and party with your friends with Tapped Enterprise. You won't regret it.

Joan R., Valley Steams, NY

One of the best days i have ever had.

Kevin is the man. Not only was he extra knowledgeable about well, everything! But he was also one of the friendliest business owners. He was so incredibly passionate about his job and spreading the wealth! I have to say that my day with Tapped Enterprises was one of the best days I have ever had. Think winery limo, but for us awesome folk that know that beer is better because beer makes people HAPPY. Kevin helped turned this adorable bus for beer-drinkers into the ultimate dance party bus. Thank you Tapped Enterprises for giving us an awesome day around all of the Long Island Breweries, it wouldn't have happened without you!

Tara P, Patchogue, NY

My first experience (and not last) with them was excellent.

What a great idea! Everyone does those winery tours...and while they're alright, I generally find that I'm waaaaaaaaaay too drunk before the second vineyard (c'mon...its wine, I can handle this) and I'm mysteriously broke after spending a day in some cheesy limo. Enter: Tapped Enterprises. This fella, Kevin, decided that he was sick of the monotonous work like the rest of us fools are stuck in and purchased himself a luxury bus. They do bachelor/bachelorette parties, brewery tours, things of that nature. My first experience (and not last) with them was excellent - we had a designated driver, who knew about the different breweries and beers we were trying (as well as the people who ran them). He brought us to three different breweries on Long Island - Great South Bay, Bluepoint and Long Ireland, with a stop at Hoptron - a new brewhouse in Patchogue thats a definite must-go-to. On the ride between each brewery, we had beer, and music, and games. These guys also hold events, which I think is great. AND I didn't forget my growlers. Boom!

Johanna G., Massapequa, NY

Went above and beyond.

We can not thank Kevin enough for one of the best brewery tours we have ever gone on. Kevin from Tapped enterprises is a professional and knowledgeable beer expert. The whole process from talking to Kevin on the phone setting up the tour to final drop off, he went above and beyond. Our tour started off at GSB brewery then to long Ireland brewery (my personal favorite) then to diggers for some food and then last stop crooked ladder brewery. Kevin recommended a beer at each place that I made sure I personally sampled and have to agree with him that they were good. We had a group of 14 people and everyone had a great time. I highly recommend using them for your brewery tours. We are already planning another trip for after the holidays with a bigger group.

Kevin M, Massapequa, NY

I never cease to be impressed with kevin.

I have been on several tours with Kevin and Tapped Enterprises, and I never cease to be impressed with how Kevin manages to pull these bus tours/pub crawls together and he does it with style... & with a smile on his face always - he truly has a good time doing what he does and he aims to please every guest on the bus. Most recently I was part of GSB's Sleigh Ryed pub crawl. Nice job again Kevin, I'll be back!

Tapped will always be our go to company for events.

My friends and I have used Tapped Enterprises for multiple occasions and they are wonderful! We used them for an event this past Sunday and Sal was our driver for the second time. Cannot say enough nice things about him. He's professional, friendly, accommodating and very prompt. Tapped will always be our go to company for events!

Jamie W., East Islip, NY

You're the best-est kevin.

You're the best-est KEVIN! You definitely know your stuff. Thank you for the great beer tour. This is one of my best experience I had since moving here to LI. He is a chill guy who knows how to give us a great time. It was good hearing how Tapped Enterprises got started...if you didn't know he went into Finance and he quit one day and the following week he purchased a bus. That take guts to just get up and leave and start fresh, but he is one of many people who can say he loves his job.

Went smoothly... Everyone had a blast!

Used Tapped for a Bachelor Party. Kevin was great the whole planning process even though we were a pain and kept changing things. That night our driver Sal was awesome. Everything went smoothly and everyone had a blast and got around safely. Most importantly the bachelor. Thank you again for the great time.

Demetrios B,

Beer buses and craft beer is where it is at.

After being on 2 trips now with Kevin and Tapped Enterprises, I will tell you it is a lot of fun. Kevin is a good guy who bought a bus and now drives drunk people around places. I went on the Yelp elite tour of LI breweries with Tapped, and on the Hunter Mountain ski trip. The tour was great as it was on his bus but Kevin did not get to party as he was driving us around. The other reviews here are about that, but I will write about the Ski trip. This was on a large bus and was sponsored by Port Jeff Brewery and Tap & Barrel both excellent establishments. We were all set with a full 1/2 barrel keg and a 1/6th of Port Jefferson Brew. Me and my friend were drinking beers at 4am on the bus. However, we were not prepared for the animals that got on at Tap and Barrel. They were hilarious and were still partying from the night before. We got a prime parking spot steps away from the lodge. I don't know how Kevin managed that but it was nice! We rode/skied all day and at 3 pm had a huge party in said prime parking spot. I got to drink beer with Mike the owner of PJ brewery the man who made it! There was a full out party going on and I saw some guys come over from Hunter Mountain and I thought we were going to get shut down but they wanted some food! I had so much of that 8% beer that I did not realize that my beer was freezing up as I drank it. Temperatures were in single digits. Probably the first time in my life I had to worry about my beer getting too COLD rather than warm! Overall though this is great. The girls going to wineries in their cat heels and limos are so mid 2000's. Beer buses and craft beer is where it is at!

Michael P., Port Jefferson, NY

We had a great day and look forward to doing another tour with tapped.

Our group of 10 went on the Beer and Burger tour on a rainy Sun. Can't think of a better way to have spent the day. I had e-mailed Kevin and Ashley several times during the reservation process and they were great to deal with. Due to a scheduling conflict, we could not all fit on the bus, so they sent a limo for our group. Our driver was Column and he was great! Kevin was driving the bus and kept in contact with us at every stop. Our first stop was Spider Bite Beer Co where we all got a flight of delicious beer. Our group was so loud but the proprietors took it in stride and were so nice and accommodating. Next stop was Horace and Sylvia's for yummy burgers and a pint of beer. Our last stop was Great South Bay Brewery which had a great variety of beers. Kevin took us on a tour of their brewing process. I can't say enough about him. He is friendly, personable and extremely knowledgeable about beer making. We had a great day and look forward to doing another tour with Tapped!

Antoinette M., Lindenhurst, NY

Kevin is great, and so are his tours.

Kevin is great, and so are his tours. This was my second time on a Tapped Enterprises tour, and I have to say, it was a blast. Such a cool concept; I am planning on recommending this to anyone I know looking to have a great time on the island- and SAFELY visit the many awesome breweries we have to offer.

Kathryn W., Long Island, NY

Had an absolutely great time being driven around long island on this rolling beer bus on sunday.

Had an absolutely great time being driven around Long Island on this rolling beer bus on Sunday! How can you not love this? You have a great driver, Kevin, who is very knowledgeable, friendly, fun, and most of all patient to put up with all our drunken shenanigans during this past weekend's Yelp Beer Bus event. The bus itself is clean, comfortable, and has both a tv and dock for playing your Ipod's. It's a great way to get around and taste a lot of beer without having to worry about getting a DWI ! Kevin knows all the routes to some of the best local breweries, and is a big craft beer guy himself. They do many beer tasting events on LI and around the local NY area and have packages available for group trips, or shorter shuttles to the local brew tastings. Check out the website for upcoming beer events and rates. To me, it's totally worth the cost to enjoy a worry free, and safe day, rather than drinking and driving. We hit up Great South Bay, Long Ireland, and Port Jeff Brewing Company. That last stop in Port Jeff on a terrific spring day was just perfect to try some beers and then wander around the town for a bite to eat before heading back to the train station to drop us off. Kevin has a great little biz here that I wholeheartedly endorse. Also, between stops it pretty much became a beer fueled dance party bus with some moves going on that would put some strippers to shame! Yay beer!

Phil H., New York, NY

What a great idea.had a awesome day.

What a great idea!! Long Island has so many cool microbrews and brew pubs to offer, and being that you'd (of course) want to visit more than one in a day, this is the perfect way to do it. I was recently part of the 5th Annual Sleigh Rye'd tour hosted by Great South Bay Brewery. The fact that they were the ones hosting was reason enough to get me here. We visited GSB in Bayshore, BobbieQue & Hoptron Brewtique in Patchogue, the South Shore Dive in Sayville, and TJ Finley's back in Bayshore. Free santa hats and a free pint was given at every bar, and not to mention the beer on the bus kept this party rolling! What an awesome day to try out some different brews, meet some new people, and get from point A to point B safely! Would definitely recommend this and do it again myself!

Brianne S, Patchogue, NY

Punctual and accommodating to our needs also very fun and personable.

I used Tapped Enterprises this past weekend to celebrate my 30th bday and we had an amazing experience! Not only was our driver Theresa punctual and accommodating to our needs but she was fun and personable! We all had a great time at the vineyards, the price was great and we got there and back safe and sound! Thanks so much for everything! We will def be using them again!

Josie M., Lake Ronkonkoma, NY

Had a great time and kevin went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure our party was great.

Had a great time and Kevin went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure our party was great. I will definitely use their services again and strongly recommend them.

Accommodating and patient with us.

We used Tapped Enterprises for our wedding and it was a great choice!!! While other transportation companies gave me many limitations, Kevin was so accommodating and patient with us! There was a time change and I completely forgot to inform Kevin but his patience, understanding, and willingness to accommodate the change was greatly appreciated!!! He worked with us regarding a trip to the venue for the bridal party and provided multiple trips to the venue and back to the hotel for our guests! In addition, the bus was very spacious and comfortable. I know many of the guests, including the bridal party were pleased with their experience!! Can't thank you guys enough!!!

Courtney F,

Had the best time this past weekend.

Had the BEST time this past weekend in the Hamptons on my friends bachelorette party thanks to Kevin!! We went to 2 vineyards, had the awesome bus all day and night and had a wonderful time! Kevin was incredibly nice and helpful since day 1 when the planning began up until the end of our trip. Would HIGHLY recommend Tapped Enterprises Inc!! Thanks again!!!!

Taylor H., Manhattan, NY

Awesome and enjoyable.

We recently used Tapped Enterprises as our transportation service for a bachelorette party weekend in the Hamptons. This included pick up and drop off at JFK, transport to 2 local wineries, a night out in Southampton and transportation to a beach in Montauk. Kevin and his team were awesome! We would definitely recommend them. Thank you for making our experience so enjoyable!

Everyone and everything was spectacular!

I went on their ski trip to hunter mountain. Everyone and everything was spectacular. The bus driver was really cool, professional yet entertaining. The gourmet food they grilled for us after skiing all day, paired with the endless supply of quality craft beer was killer!! I highly recommend this company for any event. They had it all. Good movies, music, people, breakfast, and lunch. I look forward to the next event. Thank you Kevin.

Marianthy K., Selden, NY

I'd give 10 stars if i could.

Let me just say WOW!!!!! Kevin the owner is fantastic to deal with. Everything was mapped out with his suggestions. We did Woodside Orchard that had a hard cider tasting room, Jason's Vineyard and Long Ireland Brewery. It was great since we had a mixed crowd so we had something for everyone. Ashley was fantastic as well. The bus was cleaned after each stop we were kept on schedule without feeling rushed. The day could not have gone better. A few people in my party already said they are booking their own family trips. Nothing but great things from this company. Kevin and Ashley made everyone feel like we have been family! We might as well be cousins!!! I'd give 10 stars if I could!!!

I would definitely recommend booking events with tapped for any occasion.

I used Tapped over the weekend for my 25th birthday! We rented the bus out for the night. Rick, our driver was great! He was very polite and accommodating the whole night. Booking this trip was also easy and quick. Mike in the office was very helpful! I would definitely recommend booking events with Tapped for any occasion. Thanks guys!!

Cristina Nicole, Ronkonkoma, NY

One of the best events so far.

Wineries are old hat! Breweries are where it's at on Strong Island now! Big shout out and thank you to Drew, Tara and Kevin for putting together one of the best events so far! A party bus full of people, beer and a chauffeur whom not only takes you to all the local breweries but has the hook up with them all, so you feel like Karen walking into the Copacabana with Henry Hill. Now that's the way to say goodbye to 2012 and hello to 2013!!

Michaek G,, Floral Park, NY

The magic brew bus tour was amazing.

The Magic Brew Bus Tour was amazing! I didn't know that a bus could get so boozed up, but it did, and it was tremendously fun. Kevin was literally the best bus driver I've ever had the good fortune of busing with. The breweries we visited were certainly very interesting and filled with the nectar of the ancient world (good beer). 5 stars. Well deserved 5 stars. Wooooooo!

Adam V., Huntington, NY

This is just the coolest thing....um... ever.

This is just the coolest thing....um... EVER! It's basically like a winery tour bus - BUT - it's for COOL people that like to drink beer! It's a designated driver, taking you to all the kick ass breweries on Long Island - and they get you back to your starting point safely!!! The guy driving the bus was soooo nice to everyone and really went out of his way to make sure we were having a great time! I recommend Tapped Enterprises to anyone looking to have a great time drinking brews and enjoying time with their friends! Enjoy!

Lauren B., Massapequa, NY

One of the best and most amazing parties on wheels.

You know I went on a limo beer tour, but somehow beer and limos just don't mix.....beer and a short bus? Rock on! One of the best and most amazing parties on wheels! Our driver was chill and laid back and he will make an extra stop if you like. On a limo tour, no detours allowed, lame! Beer bus- hell yeah! Next the proof is in the man himself! Kevin our tour driver was extremely knowledgeable and professional, even better he knows beer! This man's passion for beer prompted him to start Tapped Enterprises and I can completely relate to his story. You can plainly see this passion in his business! Support him and go on a tour, you will be so glad you did!

Just used these guys for a Bachelor Party and everything went so well! Kevin and the team were great to work with from the get-go. Our driver, Sal, was extremely nice and let us have a good time. Would definitely use them again and would recommend these guys in a heartbeat.

Great tours of the brewery!

You can drink on the bus, there is a cooler with ice if you do not have one of your own to bring. The driver was so nice had a lot of information for us and we got great tours of the brewery. No need to bring any money but there is more than enough stuff to buy if you want along the way.

Jesse D., New York

This is really awesome and i cannot wait to ride with them again..

Extremely professional and timely company that brings beer drinkers to breweries on Long Island and beyond; to ensure that there will be no I in DWI. What a great idea this is and perfect for friends just chilling or getting ready to celebrate something. They really do a great job and are super courteous and know where to bring you. They have their finger on the pulse of the brewer and beer community of Long Island so you can trust that you are in good hands and let them do all the planning. This is really awesome and I cannot wait to ride with them again.

Tom O., Brooklyn, NY

We can not thank kevin enough for one of the best brewery tours we have ever gone on.

We can not thank Kevin enough for one of the best brewery tours we have ever gone on. Kevin from Tapped enterprise is a professional and knowledgeable beer expert.

Kevin M., Massapequa, NY

Incredibly nice and helpful, taylor h, manhattan, ny, reliable business with a personal touch.

I planned a 3 location tour with 12 members. I was in direct contact with Kevin for weeks prior to the event. He was able to answer all of my questions and was incredibly patient. The tour was organized and the bus was immaculate. When we arrived at each location they were awaiting our arrival. Kevin was in direct contact with the owner/manager, which made the experience run very smooth. Everyone vowed to make this an annual trip. If you are looking for a reliable business with a personal touch, look no further.

Joe C., Suffolk, NY

Great time, great food, great beer and awesome memories.

Great day! We did the east end tour. Kevin was our guide and driver! He was amazing! The price is worth it! We had a great lunch at publik house in Southampton. I am a HUGE craft beer drinker and there was MORE then enough beer. We never had to pay out if pocket. The iPhone music hook up for our bus music was amazing surprise. The cheese platter was great. I thought it would be cheesy ( no pun intended lol) but it was great! The go pro cam was cool but it died before the party really got started. Great time, great food, great beer and awesome memories!

Chrissy C., Ronkonkoma, NY

Definitely recommend for an awesome bachelor party, birthday party, or just to party.

This is a genius idea formed by Kevin, who is the master of designated driving. It takes a lot to deal with drunken assholes but he has got it covered! The bus was comfortable and tricked out with an Ipod dock, and you can bring as much beer as you want to drink on your way to...drink more. There are a lot of different breweries to choose from across the Island, plus some cool stops in between! This is the man's (or awesome woman's) alternative to a typical LI wine tour. Definitely recommend for an awesome bachelor party, birthday party, or just to party!

Kat L., Seaford, NY

From the booking to the actual day everything went smoothly.

I booked tapped enterprises for a winery tour for a bachelorette party while we stayed in Greenport. From the booking to the actual day everything went smoothly. Booking was a breeze. The day of the tour the bus arrived on time and driver was texting to let me know of exact arrival time. The girls loved the bus & not having to climb in and out of a limo. A cooler with ice and water was provided as well as cups and paper towels. The driver was great and had us hooked up with our tastings very quickly at each winery. There was no confusion about anything with I have experienced with other companies in the past. We also stopped at the LI vodka distillery which was a nice change from the wineries. The driver also helped us check the bus to make sure we did not leave any valuables on board! I highly recommend this company for whatever your needs are. They are very accommodating and were able to provide the exact itinerary that I was looking for. Other companies were not as willing to accommodate an exact itinerary (there were specific wineries we wanted to go to). Thanks tapped!

Irene M., Bellmore, NY

I have to say that my day with tapped enterprises was one of the best days i have ever had, tara p., patchogue, ny, we had the best time for my husbands 30th birthday.

We had the BEST time for my husbands 30th birthday! Kevin the owner and Sal our driver went above and beyond for us. Everyone said they had a great time. I highly recommend using tapped enterprises!

Jen B., Wyandanch, NY

Nothing but good things to say.

My friends and I have used tapped two years in a row now and have nothing but good things to say! Sal was our driver and picked us up directly on time, helped us video our friend who we were surprising and was so helpful with anything we needed! He was polite, nice and have nothing but great things to say about him! We all had a great time and would definitely recommend trapped for your next occasion! Thanks again!!

Kristen P., Jericho, NY

I love what kevin has been doing and look forward to many more beer bus tours.

I was lucky enough to have a second opportunity to be a part of Kevin @ Tapped Enterprises' AMAZING beer bus tour which this time featured Long Ireland, Great South Bay and Port Jeff breweries. Kevin has been an incredible resource and the first to market with the beer bus concept for the Longuyland bar scene that has exploded. I love what Kevin has been doing and look forward to many more beer bus tours!! IF you need a tour company and a man who has all the knowledge, KEVIN is your guy at Tapped Enterprises!!!!!!!!!!!

Gaurav P., New York, NY

Outstanding experience with tapped.

Outstanding experience with Tapped! Mike and Kevin helped every step of the way. Our driver Sal was a blast and accommodated us the entire day. This is my second time with Tapped and it was better than the first. I will absolutely be using Tapped again

Anthony A., Rocky Point, NY

Coolest thing ever would recommend to anyone looking to have a great time, lauren b, massapequa, ny, bought this for my boyfriend as a birthday gift and he loved it.

Great experience overall! Bought this for my boyfriend as a birthday gift and he LOVED it! We had so much fun at each brewery and they each gave generous portions for the tasting. We really enjoyed the brewery tour as well. Plus, the burgers were delish! Would totally recommend!

Adrianna M, New York

Had the best time.

I booked Tapped for a Bachelorette Party. Our driver, Roman, was polite and arranged everything at each of our stops. Setting up the entire day was easy....especially with the destination suggestions from Kevin. We had the BEST time. I would absolutely book through Tapped again.

Katherine L,

Such a great time... very helpful and responsive.

I just did a brewery tour with LI beer bus for my fiancé's 30th birthday. Everyone had SUCH a great time!! We did the west south shore tour with a group of 20 people. Throughout the planning process Kevin and Mike were very helpful and responsive. They found out ahead of time that the pub we were supposed to go to was celebrating St. Patrick's day the day of our tour so they switched us to another pub with the same deal to avoid being stuck in that crowd. Our driver Sal was super nice and kept us on time all day without making us feel rushed. This is a great deal for your money. We had pick up from Manhattan, comfortable seating and partying on the bus, plenty of food at the pub (and awesome craft beer selections) and the tastings at the brewery (especially Blue Point) were way bigger than I was expecting for a tasting. If you are considering booking a tour with Tapped I strongly recommend it!

Jaclyn M., Westbury, NY

Excellent, excellent, excellent- will definitely be booking again.

There is nothing bad I could say about Tapped and the individuals who helped coordinate the entire day from pick-up to drop-off.I worked closely with Kevin to organize the day and he handled all the details. We were able to hit up a great winery (which opened early exclusively for us), had a great meal and enjoyed so much beer at Bluepoint.I cannot say anything bad about Kevin, he handled my OCD random questions and was so great with keeping us on time and safe. Customer service at it's finest. Even though the weather couldn't hold out- we had a great time singing oldies on the bus back in the rain. I would strongly recommend Tapped (& Kevin) for anyone looking to explore the wineries & breweries on the island without having to worry about driving. Excellent, excellent, excellent- will definitely be booking again!

Kellina L., Long Island, NY

I would highly recommend this company to everyone.

Planned a surprise birthday brew bus tour for my husband. We had 20 people. Everyone raved about the experience. The bus was great, timing at each brewery was perfect. Overall experience was impeccable. Kevin was our driver and friend in the end. I would highly recommend this company to everyone!!!

Jocelynn V., New York

Ever had a hoppin' dance party on sunrise highway.

Ever had a hoppin' dance party on Sunrise Highway? No!? Me either, until I discovered Tapped Enterprises! They picked us up at the train station and once the doors opened, bagels, friendly faces and an awesome time were awaiting us. This tour specifically stopped at Woodside Orchids, Sherwood house vineyards and Long Ireland brewery allowing a little something for everyone. Kevin seems to have a great working relationship with local breweries, farms, and wineries. They book tours, parties and even just basic transportation to and from events, lowering the number of DWI arrests for the Suffolk County police! I say bah to all those annoying long island wine limo tours that take you to the least common denominators of alcohol on the north shore (I'm looking right at you, Pindar and Vineyard 48!) and hop on a short bus. Not only is it amazing to love what you do, but to make other people happy while doing it takes your job to a completely different level. Big props to Kevin and Tapped Enterprises for a fantastic time!

Steph M., Long Island, NY

We are already planning our next trip.

Just did a bachelor party for my buddy last minute with Kevin. It was awesome! We had a blast! Kevin was great from start to finish. Very accommodating. We are already planning our next trip!

Forgotten Trek

The Unseen Enterprise-D

Star Trek: The Next Generation already required more sets than the average television show. It had to cannibalize whatever it could from the motion pictures and Gene Roddenberry wrote two superfluous scenes in main engineering into “Encounter at Farpoint”, knowing that such a large set might never be built if it wasn’t required for the pilot.

Inevitably many parts of the Enterprise -D went unseen: the main shuttlebay, the many observation lounges that presumably line the saucer, Cetacean Ops…

Fortunately we can draw on the work of Star Trek veterans and fans to get a more complete picture of the Galaxy -class starship. Here is a tour of the unseen Enterprise -D.

Main shuttlebay

Enterprise-D main shuttlebay deck plan

For budget reasons, The Next Generation never showed the enormous main shuttlebay that is supposed to take up the bulk of Decks 3 and 4 in the saucer section.

Rick Sternbach, who had worked as an illustrator on Star Trek: The Motion Picture , and who would go on to design many of the props and starships that appeared in The Next Generation and Voyager , drew up the layout of the main shuttlebay in the Star Trek: The Next Generation U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D Blueprints , which were at least partly based on the blueprints Ed Whitefire had prepared earlier in the 1990s but which weren’t licensed.

It shows a vast complex with about two dozen shuttles, a bunch of workbees, repair shops, fueling stations, cargo processing bays and a central control tower.

Rob Bryan and Stage 9 studio visualized the main shuttlebay for their aborted virtual-reality tour of the Enterprise -D. Unfortunately, CBS put a stop to their project, citing copyright, but we still have the pictures .

Enterprise-D main shuttlebay

Andrew Probert allocated many windows on the Enterprise -D model for observation decks. Having such a large vessel with families, singles, lovers and loners aboard, Probert envisioned those areas as comfortable places where people could go and relax.

“They were simply lounges,” he told Trekplace in 2005, “and they were different sized, ranging from a two-person lounge to a fourteen-person lounge, where you could have family gatherings or parties and they would all be very darkly lit, so you wouldn’t get gross window reflections, allowing you to see outside a lot easier.”

Enterprise-D lounge concept art

Some of those lounges were seen in the first season, including a small four-person lounge in “Encounter at Farpoint” (which was a redress of Dr Crusher’s office) and a Starboard Lounge in the episode “Justice” (for which the crew quarters’ set was used).

After Ten Forward premiered in the second season, no other lounges were seen anymore.

Enterprise-D lounge

Stage 9 as well as Jason B., whose similar Enterprise-D Construction Project was also shut down by CBS, gave us a glimpse of what might have been. They put small lounges on the lower Deck 1, in front of the bridge, a Two Forward behind the large observation windows on Deck 2 and a Nine Forward above Ten Forward in the front of the saucer.

Enterprise-D lounge art

Probert envisioned another lounge behind the four large windows in the underside of the saucer section. He provided Trekplace with a mockup of what this would look like.

Sternbach instead placed a secondary deflector dish in this area in his Star Trek: The Next Generation U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D Blueprints .

Observation Lounge ramp

A ramp is meant to connect the Enterprise bridge with the observation lounge, which is situated about half a deck lower.

In the real world, the reason we never saw direct scenes between the two sets is that they were disconnected. Picard’s ready room, by contrast, really was adjacent to the bridge.

Enterprise-D bridge ramp

In Stage 9’s visualization, the ramp became a small staircase flanked by relief sculptures of previous ships named Enterprise . These were initially mounted on the wall of the observation lounge but disappeared between the fourth and the fifth seasons.

Cetacean Ops

Cetacean Ops is referred to twice on the show — in “The Perfect Mate” and “Yesterday’s Enterprise”. In the Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual , Sternbach and Michael Okuda write that the section is home to several dolphins and two whales, who aid the Enterprise in its navigation.

In the Blueprints , Sternbach places Cetacean Ops on Decks 13 and 14 in the forward section of the saucer.

Enterprise-D Cetacean Ops deck plan

Probert put the section on Deck 7 of another Galaxy -class starship in his concept art for Star Trek Online in December 2005.

Click here to learn more about Cetacean Ops.

Medical Deck

Probert’s main contribution to Star Trek Online was the design of a large medical deck.

Galaxy-class medical deck concept art

With up to one thousand people on board, a Galaxy -class starship could hardly suffice with the four biobeds and one surgical theater we saw on the show.

In the episode “Tapestry”, it is revealed there are in fact three sickbay wards on the ship. “Ethics” makes reference to private recovery rooms. Other episodes mention a diagnostics center, medical labs, a morgue and a nursery.

Enterprise-D sickbay deck plan

Probert’s design includes many of these facilities as well as a spacious reception area. Gareth John Williams visualized two of Probert’s sketches.

Sternbach places all medical facilities on Deck 12 in his Blueprints . The sickbay we see on the show is only a small “primary ICU” of a much larger complex that includes a biohazard ICU, isolation rooms, surgical suite and trauma stasis unit.

Other areas Probert designed for Star Trek Online included an archeology and a geology lab.

Galaxy-class archeology lab concept art

Ed Whitefire placed a five deck-high mall or “grotto” in the front of the saucer section that seems to have been intended as a mix of arboretum and recreation deck. I don’t believe anybody has visualized it.

Whitefire placed a large, two-deck-high “organic storage” facility behind the large blue windows that are below the doors of the main shuttlebay on Decks 5 and 6. Sternbach, in his Blueprints , puts the arboretum here, as does Alexander Richardson , although the arboretum seen in “Data’s Day”, “Imaginary Friend” and “Dark Page” didn’t have large windows. Maybe that was only part of a larger complex, though?

Enterprise-D

Probert told Trekplace in 2005 that he designed those windows for observation lounges.

Ryan T. Riddle and Mark Farinas place a large arboretum in the back of the saucer of their Ambassador -class starship in “ The Word of God ” with a lobby reminiscent of Probert’s design for Star Trek Online .

The Word of God panel

Computer Cores

“Evolution” showed us a computer access room, but the cores themselves (the Enterprise -D is supposed to carry three) were never seen.

Enterprise-D computer access room

In his concept art for Star Trek Online , Probert places two computer cores side by side in the saucer section. The third is in the stardrive section.

Captain’s yacht

Enterprise-D captain's yacht art

Probert included a “captain’s yacht” in the bottom of the saucer, which Picard could presumably use for personal missions. He volunteered several ideas to show it in the first season of The Next Generation , but budgetary constraints made this impossible.

The only view of the yacht, called Calypso , we have is from Probert’s contribution to the 2010 Ships of the Line calendar. If you look closely, you can see Captain Picard sipping tea behind one of the windows as his yacht is being hauled in.

Great writeup. It’s a damned shame CBS gave Stage 9 a cease-and-desist. I loved being able to walk through the decks of the big D.
It’s plain the ones in charge of CBS have little to no love for the actual show, and what the show has inspired. Way to alienate fans. Stage 9 is rocking, and they even though it’s unfinished, the potential is great. If CBS had a single functioning brain cell they would get in on it and fund it. As it is, they do not deserve to own Star Trek . The Galaxy -class design is supremely elegant, awesome in every way, and completely beautiful. Best design hands down. They should finish Stage 9 – on the basis that it is not about profit, but about love for the show that Roddenberry loved, worked on, and inspired.
Excellent article, cool pics, love the D.
This is great, thank you for putting this together. Really fleshes things out even more, makes it more real, and still so long after how much we love it!
This is great!! Lots of extra details.
Wonderful. Now ILM’s first Enterprise -D study model was quite different as per Memory Alpha . What happened to that model?

Aerosmith Announces New 'Peace Out' Farewell Tour Dates After Postponing for Steven Tyler Vocal Injury

ELMONT, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 09: Steven Tyler of Aerosmith performs at UBS Arena on September 09, 2023 in Elmont, New York.

After previously postponing due to Steven Tyler's vocal injury, the Peace Out tour is getting back on the road!

Aerosmith is getting back on the road for its previously postponed farewell tour. On Wednesday, the band announced rescheduled dates for their Peace Out   tour with a new leg that kicks off Sept. 20 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and wraps up Feb. 26, 2025, in Buffalo, New York.

The Black Crowes will rejoin the band to finish out the tour.

In September 2023, Aerosmith suspended the tour until "sometime in 2024," after lead singer Steven Tyler suffered a vocal injury that the Boston-based band said is "more serious than initially thought."

"His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care," Aerosmith said in a  statement posted to the band's Instagram page . "He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential."

"I am heartbroken to not be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world," Tyler said in a statement. "I promise we will be back as soon as we can!"

Just one week after the tour originally kicked off  in September 2023, the band announced that Tyler had sustained an injury that would force the band to postpone a series of shows.

"I’m heartbroken to say I have received strict doctor’s orders not to sing for the next thirty days," Tyler shared in a statement on Aerosmith's social media . "I sustained vocal cord damage during Saturday’s show that led to subsequent bleeding. We’ll need to postpone a few dates so that we can come back and give you the performance you deserve."

Tyler was performing at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, at the time of his injury. The reported 19-song set opened with "Back in the Saddle" and closed with a two-part encore of "Dream On" and "Walk This Way." It also reportedly included the first performance of the Joe Perry -sung track "Bright Light Fright" for the first time in almost 30 years.

The tour will be Aerosmith's last after more than 50 years together.

"It's not goodbye it's PEACE OUT!" the legendary band said in a statement  back in May. "Get ready and walk this way, you're going to get the best show of our lives."

In a press release announcing the tour, it was revealed that founding member Joey Kramer would not be joining this tour run.

"While Joey Kramer remains a beloved founding member of Aerosmith, he has regrettably made the decision to sit out the currently scheduled touring dates to focus his full attention on his family and health," the statement read. "Joey’s unmistakable and legendary presence behind the drum kit will be sorely missed."

Alongside the announcement, Aerosmith released a star-studded video snippet in which the world watches in disbelief as the news of their final trek unfolds. In the end, comedian and fellow Boston native Bill Burr calls frontman  Steven Tyler  at "Aerosmith HQ" to confirm whether it's really the end of the road for the diamond-certified rock legends after more than 50 years together.

"It's true. All I can say is, peace out!" Tyler shouts. "And if you think we're joking, dream on."

Solar eclipse glasses are needed for safety, but they sure are confusing. What to know.

Editor's note: An updated cloud forecast for the April 2024 total solar eclipse is in. Read the latest eclipse forecast and news as of Wednesday, April 3 .

You can't control the weather or the traffic , but one thing you can do right now ahead of the total solar eclipse is to get yourself a pair of special eclipse glasses , so you can safely view the cosmic spectacle.

The total eclipse will cross over a dozen states as it traverses from Texas to Maine on the afternoon of April 8.  Millions of people are expected to travel  to see it.

Astronomers and other experts say that eclipse watchers should wear  specialized eyewear  crafted to  protect your sensitive retinas  from permanent damage. And that means eclipse glasses .

Fortunately, solar eclipse glasses are still readily available  from plenty of vendors across the internet. Unfortunately, there's fears of fake glasses , and sometimes testing your glasses at home is the best way to know if they're safe.

Here's  what to know  about eclipse glasses and where you can get a pair of your own.

Where to find solar eclipse glasses

As the eclipse approaches, many places like local libraries, astronomical observatories, schools and other public agencies are providing proper eyewear, often for free.

Or you can just order them on the internet: Many eclipse websites like GreatAmericanEclipse.com and NationalEclipse.com sell a variety of eyewear products, along with plenty of other gadgets one may need to see the eclipse.

Of course,  Amazon  and plenty of other online retailers are also selling solar eclipse glasses in bulk, meaning you'll have plenty to share with your friends and family. American Paper Optics, the nation's largest supplier of eclipse glasses, even offers  express shipping  across the country.

Watch out for fake glasses

With online platforms like Amazon listing thousands of eclipse viewers, fears of fake or counterfeit glasses have grown.

"We do see glasses coming from China that have printing on them that say they're made in the U.S. or that they are made by one of the American manufacturers," Rick Fienberg, the project manager of the American Astronomical Society's solar eclipse task force, told USA TODAY.

When in doubt, buyers should refer back to the list of  official sellers and manufacturers maintained by the AAS , which communicates directly with sellers and manufacturers and checks test reports.

The list includes well-known North American manufacturers like American Paper Optics, as well as several large grocery and retail chains in the U.S. like Walmart, Lowe's and Kroger.

Real, but rare, examples of eye damage

Doctors and a rare set of eclipse watchers have warned  about watching the eclipse without adequate eclipse glasses or with the naked eye that has resulted in rare cases of eye damage. The damage occurs because people's natural response to squint when looking at direct sunlight does not get triggered when a partial eclipse happens.

Such was the case with one Staten Island woman who  watched the 2017 eclipse using faulty glasses that caused severe retinal damage. Doctors from Mount Sinai's New York Eye and Ear Infirmary chronicled this luckily rare case in  JAMA Ophthalmology , a medical journal. The woman told doctors that she had  gazed at the moon passing in front of the sun  through what she  thought were protective glasses . The damage on her left retina, the area at the back of the eye where the brain receives images, looked like the shape of a partial  eclipse .

"It's a very focused beam of high-energy light from the sun itself,” Dr. Avnish Deobhakta, an ophthalmologist at the Mount Sinai infirmary who treated the woman, told USA TODAY. “It can actually destroy parts of the retina, and certainly destroy it in the shape of an eclipse.”

How can you test eclipse glasses?

NASA shared an easy method to check eclipse glasses at home.

Buyers should put on their glasses and look at a bright light, like a flashlight. If the light is "extremely dim," or doesn't appear at all, the glasses are safe, Susannah Darling, of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, said in an instructional video. Viewers should be able to see the filament of the lightbulb, not the glow surrounding the bulb.

Get free glasses

With safety in mind, there are ways to get free solar eclipse glasses .

The online eye retailer Warby Parker is offering members of the public a pair of ISO-certified glasses starting Monday. Warby Parker retail locations nationwide, find one  here.

But there are plenty of other retailers giving out free glasses that range from Smoothie King to the protein bar Perfect Snacks, which will give out glasses alongside a chocolate brownie flavor.
