What makes a good Journey logo?
Not all Journey logos are created equal. Choosing the right logo type for your business is one of the keys to creating a great Journey logo. There's an array of logo types and what you choose depends on the emotions and message you want your logo to evoke. Logos with just text or simple letters can convey professionalism or luxury, whereas a Journey logo with just an icon can be more jovial and exciting - maybe your logo should have both? This is a critical decision in the logo design process.
Ever considered why some companies use specific colors in the Journey logo? Or why some businesses have certain colors in their branding? Color theory and psychology is the science of eliciting emotions and feelings via the use of color. Knowing what colors trigger different reactions from consumers can help a company create the perfect Journey logo for their business. It definitely pays to choose the right colors for your Journey logo. Want to be seen as a dependable, trustworthy brand or maybe you want to be sporty and active. Choosing the right colors for your logo is the key to getting the message right.
Shapes & Patterns
Just like colors, shapes can influence a person's emotions. The psychology of shapes has a key role in creating a great Journey logo. We're not just talking about squares, circles and triangles here, but the geometric patterns that make up your Journey logo. Sharp corners and straight lines are aligned with discipline and strength, whereas softer curves, ovals and ellipses can convey a sense of eternity, mystery or magic. There's more shapes to consider as part of your logo - natural shapes like leaves, complex shapes like spirals or even abstract patterns. Getting the balance right will help you get the perfect Journey logo for your brand.

What colors are suitable for travel logo designs.
Choosing the right colors for a travel logo design can be as exciting as planning a trip itself! In the world of travel logo design, colors do more than just make the logo look pretty; they evoke emotions, convey messages, and create an identity that resonates with the wanderlust spirit. Let's dive into a palette of possibilities and explore five fantastic color choices suitable for travel logo designs.
Sky Blue: The Color of Freedom
Sky blue is the quintessential color of openness, freedom, and infinite possibilities. It reminds us of clear skies on a sunny day or the tranquil waters of a tropical paradise. When used in travel logos, sky blue can evoke a sense of calmness and relaxation, perfect for brands promoting serene getaways or sky-based travel like airlines. It's like telling your audience, "Hey, the sky's the limit with us!”
Earthy Greens: Nature's Embrace
For travel brands focusing on eco-tourism, adventure, or nature trails, earthy greens are your go-to colors. These hues represent growth, renewal, and the natural world. From the lush greenery of a rainforest to the gentle shades of a hillside, green in your travel logo can signify a connection with nature. It's like whispering to the travelers, "Come, let's tread lightly and embrace the wonders of Mother Earth.”
Sunny Yellows: The Joy of Exploration
Yellows, especially those reminiscent of sunshine, bring a sense of joy, energy, and optimism. It’s the color of happy days, warmth, and adventure. For travel logos, incorporating yellow can immediately uplift the design and instill a sense of happiness and enthusiasm. It's the color that says, "Gear up for some fun and sun-soaked adventures!”
Oceanic Teals: The Depth of Discovery
Teal, a beautiful blend of blue and green, can be a stunning choice for travel logos. It speaks of the depth and mystery of the ocean and the tranquility of a mountain landscape. Teal is for travel brands that promise discovery and wonder, be it underwater adventures or tranquil retreats. It’s like a treasure map in color form, promising hidden gems and thrilling escapades.
Warm Oranges: The Hue of New Horizons
Oranges in your travel logo can represent the warmth of a new dawn or the captivating colors of a sunset. This color is all about enthusiasm, creativity, and the boldness of exploration. It’s perfect for brands that want to convey a sense of adventure, warmth, and vitality. Orange in a travel logo is like saying, "Join us to witness the awe-inspiring moments of the day.”
In conclusion, the colors chosen for a travel logo design should reflect the essence of the brand and the experiences it offers. Whether it's the calming blues, rejuvenating greens, cheerful yellows, mysterious teals, or vibrant oranges, each color has its story and emotion. Remember, the right color combination can take your audience on a visual journey even before they embark on a real one. So, go ahead, play with these colors and create a travel logo that not only stands out but also transports your audience to their dream destination!
What Symbolisms Are Suitable for Travel Logo Designs?
Embarking on a quest to create the perfect travel logo design? It's not just about the colors and fonts; it's about the symbols that capture the essence of travel, adventure, and discovery. Let's take an imaginary trip through five symbolic elements that make for fantastic travel logo designs.
Compasses: Navigating the World of Adventure
A classic in the travel world, the compass is a symbol of navigation, guidance, and the thrill of finding your way in the world. Using a compass in your travel logo design can speak volumes about your brand's ability to guide travelers on their journeys. It's like saying, "With us, you're always on the right path!”
Globes and Maps: The Whole World in Your Hands
Nothing says 'travel' quite like an image of the Earth or a snippet of a map. These symbols represent global exploration, diversity, and the endless possibilities of travel. Whether you choose a traditional globe, a world map, or an artistic interpretation of either, you're showing that your brand is all about exploring every nook and cranny of this beautiful planet.
Airplanes: Soaring to New Heights
Airplanes are synonymous with travel, representing speed, freedom, and the modern traveler's ability to explore distant places. Including an airplane in your travel logo can signify a world of opportunities, adventure, and the excitement of taking off to unknown destinations. It's your brand saying, "Let's fly away to your dream destination!”
Mountains: Peaks of Possibility
Mountains symbolize adventure, challenge, and the majestic beauty of nature. They are perfect for brands focusing on outdoor adventures, hiking, and exploring the natural world. A mountain in your logo can represent the peak experiences your company offers – those breathtaking moments that travelers seek. It's like a promise of unforgettable adventures and conquering new heights.
Sailing Ships: Cruising Through Waves of Wonder
Sailing ships evoke a sense of exploration, freedom, and the romance of the sea. They are ideal for brands that focus on cruises, maritime adventures, or the allure of the ocean. A sailing ship in your logo can symbolize a journey of discovery, leisure, and the tranquil beauty of sailing the seas. It's a way of saying, "Set sail towards your dream voyage with us!”
In the vast ocean of travel logo design, the right symbolism can make your brand stand out and speak directly to the hearts of travelers. Whether it’s the guiding compass, the all-encompassing globe, the adventurous airplane, the majestic mountain, or the serene sailing ship, each symbol carries a story and an invitation to explore. So, get creative and let these symbols chart the course for a logo that not only represents your brand but also ignites the wanderlust in everyone who sees it. Happy designing, and may your travel logo be a beacon for countless unforgettable journeys!
What Are the Challenges in Creating Travel Logo Designs?
Navigating the world of travel logo design can sometimes feel like you're trying to find your way through a bustling foreign market without a map. It's exciting, yes, but there are challenges at every turn. Let’s explore five common challenges designers face when creating travel logo designs and how to pack your creative suitcase to overcome them!
Balancing Originality and Familiarity
In the bustling world of travel, standing out is as crucial as a passport for an international journey. The challenge? Crafting a logo that’s both unique and recognizable. You want to avoid clichés like overused landmarks or airplanes, yet keep the essence of travel alive. It's like trying to find a hidden gem of a destination that no one knows about but still feels welcoming and exciting. The trick is to infuse familiar symbols with a twist of originality, creating something fresh yet relatable.
Conveying a Brand’s Unique Story
Every travel company has its own tale, be it adventure, luxury, or cultural immersion. The logo needs to capture this narrative in a visual snippet. But how do you cram an epic travel novel into a tiny logo postcard? This is where the magic of symbolism and design elements come into play. The challenge is to distill the brand's essence into a simple yet evocative image that tells their story at a glance.
Designing for Versatility
Your travel logo needs to be a world traveler, comfortable on various platforms, from tiny mobile screens to massive billboards. This requires a design that’s scalable and legible in different sizes and contexts. Imagine your logo is like a traveler who needs to pack for all seasons in one suitcase – it needs to be adaptable yet functional in every situation.
Choosing the Right Color Palette
Colors in a travel logo are like the spices in a local cuisine – they can completely define the experience. However, picking the right combination that resonates with the brand's identity and appeals to the target audience can be tricky. It’s like trying to cater to a global palette; you want to evoke the right emotions and associations, whether it’s the tranquility of blues or the excitement of reds, without overwhelming the senses.
Creating Timeless Appeal
In the fast-moving world of travel trends, how do you create a logo that doesn’t need a redesign with every season change? The challenge is to design something that’s both trendy and timeless. Think of it like classic travel attire – it should have the quality and style to last through years of fashion trends and travel destinations. Your logo should not only resonate with today’s audience but also have the endurance to remain relevant and appealing in the future.
Overcoming these challenges in travel logo design is like planning the perfect trip. It requires research, understanding the landscape, packing the right tools, and a bit of adventurous spirit to try something new. Keep these points in your design itinerary, and you’re well on your way to creating a travel logo that’s not just a visual journey but also a memorable destination in itself!
What Are the Common Mistakes in Travel Logo Designs?
Embarking on the journey of creating a travel logo design can be as thrilling as a spontaneous road trip. But, just like missing a turn on the road, there are common pitfalls that can lead your travel logo off course. Here are five common missteps in travel logo design to avoid, ensuring your brand's visual identity enjoys a smooth and successful journey.
Overpacking the Design: The Cluttered Suitcase Syndrome
In travel and in logo design, less is often more. A common blunder is cramming too many elements into the logo, making it the visual equivalent of an overstuffed suitcase. This can result in a confusing and forgettable design. Just like packing for a trip, it's important to be selective. Choose elements that are essential and representative of your brand. Remember, a simple and clean logo is like a well-packed bag – everything has its place, and there’s no struggle to find what you need.
Using Clichéd Imagery: The Beaten Path
Falling back on clichéd images like airplanes, globes, or famous landmarks is like visiting only the tourist traps on a trip. While these elements are universally recognized, they can make your logo blend into the sea of travel brands. To stand out, think outside the box. Craft a logo that captures the unique essence of your brand, like choosing a lesser-known but breathtaking destination. This way, your logo won’t just be another postcard from the same old place.
Neglecting Brand Consistency: The Lost Compass
Inconsistency in design is like having a faulty compass on a hiking trail – it leads to confusion. Your logo should be a visual ambassador of your brand's values, style, and message. A common mistake is creating a logo that diverges from the overall brand identity. Ensure your logo aligns with the tone, messaging, and aesthetics of your brand. It should feel like a part of a cohesive journey, not a detour.
Choosing Inappropriate Colors: The Misguided Map
Colors in a logo are like destinations on a map; they guide the viewer's emotions and perceptions. A mistake often made is choosing colors that don’t align with the brand's identity or fail to evoke the right emotions. For instance, using muted tones for an adventure travel company might send the wrong message. Select colors that reflect the experience your brand offers, like vibrant hues for exciting adventures or calming blues for leisure travel.
Forgetting Versatility: The One-Destination Trip
A logo needs to be versatile, much like a travel itinerary that varies from cities to beaches. It should look good across different mediums, from tiny app icons to large billboards. A common oversight is designing a logo that looks great on one platform but loses its charm on others. Ensure your logo is scalable and legible in various sizes and formats. Like a well-planned trip, it should offer a great experience no matter where it’s displayed.
Creating a travel logo design is a journey in itself. By avoiding these common mistakes, you ensure that your brand’s visual identity doesn’t just take off but also soars. Keep your design luggage light, stay off the clichéd paths, ensure consistency, choose your color palette wisely, and remember versatility.
Which Target Audience Should I Keep in Mind When Creating Travel Logo Designs?
When it comes to creating a travel logo design, understanding your target audience is like packing the right essentials for a specific travel destination. It's crucial! Your logo isn’t just a pretty picture; it’s a visual shoutout to your ideal travelers. Let’s navigate through five key target audiences to consider when designing a travel logo, ensuring your brand's visual identity resonates with the right crowd.
The Luxury Jet-Setters: Elegance and Exclusivity
If your travel brand caters to the luxury market, think sleek, sophisticated, and exclusive. This audience seeks premium experiences and expects a logo that radiates elegance and luxury. Imagine designing for someone who wouldn’t blink at first-class flights or five-star accommodations. Your logo should be the visual equivalent of a VIP pass – think minimalist designs, elegant fonts, and a color palette that screams 'chic'. It’s like crafting a golden key that unlocks a world of opulence and refined experiences.
The Adventure Seekers: Bold and Energetic
For a brand that appeals to thrill-seekers and adventure enthusiasts, your logo should pulse with energy and excitement. This audience craves adrenaline-packed experiences, be it skydiving, mountain climbing, or deep-sea diving. The logo should reflect this spirit – dynamic shapes, bold fonts, and a color palette that's as vibrant as their planned activities. Imagine designing a logo that’s ready to jump off a cliff – metaphorically, of course!
The Budget Backpackers: Fun and Approachable
Budget travelers, including backpackers and students, are all about affordable and authentic experiences. They are the explorers of hidden gems and cultural immersion. Your logo should speak to their sense of fun and adventure without appearing too luxurious. Playful fonts, bright colors, and quirky designs can work well. It should be like a friendly invitation to embark on a journey full of unexpected delights, minus the hefty price tag.
The Eco-Conscious Travelers: Natural and Sustainable
With an increasing number of travelers becoming environmentally conscious, if your brand has a green philosophy, your logo must reflect it. These travelers are looking for sustainable and eco-friendly travel options. Think earthy colors, organic shapes, and a clean, nature-inspired look. Your logo should be a green flag that signals your commitment to the planet, like a badge of honor for responsible travel.
The Family Vacationers: Warm and Welcoming
If your audience is families looking for memorable vacation experiences, your logo should exude warmth, comfort, and friendliness. It should appeal to both adults and children, conjuring images of fun-filled family getaways. Soft shapes, playful elements, and a warm color palette can create an inviting feel. Design a logo that’s like a welcoming hug, suggesting that memorable family adventures await.
In the diverse world of travel, tailoring your travel logo design to your specific audience is key. Whether it’s the luxury seeker, the adrenaline junkie, the budget-conscious backpacker, the eco-friendly traveler, or the family planner, your logo should be a visual representation of the unique experiences your brand offers. Think of it as your brand’s first handshake with its future clients – make it count!
Travel logo design is a journey of its own, combining creativity with strategic thinking to encapsulate the essence of a brand in a single, powerful image. As we've explored, the key lies in understanding the target audience, avoiding common mistakes, embracing suitable symbolisms and colors, and facing the unique challenges this niche presents. Remember, a well-crafted travel logo is more than just a mark; it's a visual story that invites and inspires people to explore the world. So, as a designer, embrace the adventure of creating a travel logo that not only stands out but also resonates deeply with the wanderlust in each viewer.

The background picture (one of their amazing pictures) caught my attention. All I can see is true love, communion and how much they complete each other. And this picture inspired me to create this monoline logo. The V and the S, they look as if they're embraced, exactly like they are in this picture. And the monoline style is for suggesting communion and how they complete each other. Also the monoline can be seen a path, a journey, from place to place.

Cover for Medium magazine (german press magazine)
In their 30th anniversary issue they wanted an illustration that show the changes and challenges the new technologies represent for the journalists. I approach the subject seeing the future as a river we cross, in this case jumping from one new app to another. We don´t see dry land ahead because is not certain, and we left the old securities (the nest, the land) behind. I work near the client, following her advise until I complete change my original idea, but the result work and is a good example of great colaboration and the importance of it.
Cover Design for book about Real Life Experiences
This design was a very unique one to create. The CH was very specific in his wants and needs and i did my best to bring his idea to life. Through many revisions, I feel I have done the design justice. I kept to the specifics they wanted and made changes wherever necessary.
Cover design about a life journey

Inventure Labs wants to bridge the gaps, remove the separation and develop a system to design ventures that serves everything that matters to you in your life. A holistic-life venture system inspired by nature = Bio-inspired venture design. 1. Bio = nature (a person - since this is about people). 2. Inspired = Inspiration, being uplifted or moved by something, (the heart is touched). 3. Venture = a daring undertaking, or journey (life is a journey). 4. Design = thoughtful creative structure with purpose (DNA). The logo combines all these elements and symbolizes a person getting out from the egg/his own world, getting out of his comfort zone and starting a new life.

A "religious journey" book cover entry
I fell in LOVE with this image because the window reminds me of a thousand amazing cathedrals and churches... grand, yet somehow lonely, but somehow encouraging. The candle is small, but prominent. The differences between the cool tones of the window and the warm tones of the candle and subtitle are pronounced. The font for the word "Catholic" reminds one of gothic fonts you'd find used in Bibles from hundreds of years ago; yet there are no religious icons or relics displayed to scare away the "spiritual but not religious" reader.

Proposed cover for book dealing with child abuse
For a topic like this, a descriptive image is definitely worth 1000 words. In this image, the child can be seen holding her hand up but this can be taken two ways; "Daddy, stop!" Or, in response to the title which presumably deals with a Heavenly Father, "Daughter, Arise." The cover will definitely stand out from the rest. This design is available and unused if you'd like to see it adapted for your book. Save yourself the contest fees; shoot me a message and we'll open up a 1:1!

These photos represent the "steps" or little accomplishments along the journey that have added up to the inspirational confident person that is in the top photo. The title is in contrasting thick and thin fonts, with the thin being sophisticated and geometric, the thick font on big as a little rough edge and is in a teal taken from the background of the photograph.

The brief: A service based website providing information, inspiration, encouragement and resources to support adoptive parents. The target audience is parents, primarily women 25-45 years old. The logo should feel full of possibility- calm, uplifting, graceful, grounded, reassuring, and capable. A map/globe. My solution: The heart making its way across the soft watercolour globe represents to journey that parents and children make together, both in the process of families/children being matched together, and then the journey of getting to know each other and living together. In the words of the client: Where there is love, there is a way. The hand drawn script gives the design a friendly, upbeat vibe. The simple, san serif keeps it relaxed and stable.

Design Your Own Logo With Midjourney And LogoAI
Welcome to the exciting world of logo design where creativity meets technology! As a business owner, an entrepreneur, or a creative individual, you understand the value of a great logo. It's not just an image, it's the visual embodiment of your brand's personality, values, and mission. In today's digital age, you can leverage the power of AI such as Midjourney and LogoAI to help you bring your vision to life. This article will guide you through each step of designing your own logo. Let's get creative!
Using Midjourney For a Unique Logo Icon
MidJourney is a AI powered tool that can transform your text into image/ art. With the right prompts, You can also use it to generate your own logo. You should first have a clear vision of the style and concept you're aiming for. This vision will help guide your prompts, enabling Midjourney to produce the perfect logo that meets your needs. Here are the essential steps to using Midjourney for your logo design.
1. Join Midjourney Discord Community
Beginning with Midjourney is simple with the right steps. First, head over to its official website. Click the 'Sign In' button, which will take you to its Discord channel where the logo creation magic happens. If you're not already on Discord, you can quickly create an account for free. Once you're logged in, find and enter the '#newbies' room to get started.
2. Submit Your Prompt
In any of the '#newbies' room, go to the bottom where it says 'Message', type "/imagine" or just type "/" and pick 'imagine' from the menu that pops up. A box will appear for you to describe what you want your image/logo to look like.
Here are some prompt examples that you can try in Midjourney:
- "A minimal vector abstract chicken colorful logo, light blue backgorund, keep it flat."
- "The letter"N" logo for a tech company, serif, flat, pink to blue gradient, vector art, whitebackground."
- "A triangle gradient logo for a tech company, blue and green gradient, minimal, vector white background."
3. Upscale Images and Alter Images
Under each generated image, you'll find buttons labeled U1 to U4 and V1 to V4. If you wish to upscale an image, simply click the corresponding 'U' button (e.g., for the first image, click U1; for the second, click U2, and so on). This will enlarge your chosen image. Midjourney Logo Design: Ultimate Guide For Creating Logos with AI
Written by Emilija Anchevska AI for Business & Education
Creating logos is now easier with Midjourney ! 😍
We no longer need complex design tools and hours and hours of work. ⏰
💫 But, to achieve a harmonious and aesthetically pleasing design that effectively communicates your brand, you must know a bit of “graphic designer” jargon. 💫
Adding precise descriptions like “mascot logo,” “emblem logo,” or “flat vector logo” can help you create a well-defined prompt that will achieve your logo goals.
Therefore, this article aims to educate you on the types of logos and how to craft the right Midjoureny prompt to achieve your desired output.
Let’s dive in! 🏊♀️
How to use Midjourney for logo design
All prompts can be adjusted.
When it comes to Midjoureny, there isn’t a “one size fits all prompt,” and users need to experiment until they find their optimal description.
This is the Midjoureney formula I used:
- Graphic design, logotype, details, background color, things to exclude.
Ex. A Graphic design, a minimal logo of the letter E, with a rose, white background, and no frame.
- Logo Design Prompts for Midjourney and Types of Logos
Note: You can adjust the given prompts by adding color, style, or more details
- Minimal logo/ Simple logo
- Midjourney prompt: A graphic design, a minimal logo of the letter A with a small rose, no frame, white background.
- Abstract logos
- Midjourney prompt: A graphic design, an abstract logo of the letter A, a round shape, white background.
- Mascot logos
- Midjourney prompt: A graphic design, a mascot logo containing a robot, a triangle frame, white background.
- Emblem logos
- Midjourney prompt: A graphic design, a super realistic puppy emblem logo, round frame.
- Dynamic logos
- Midjourney prompt: A graphic design, a dynamic logo of the letter M, white background.
- Midjourney prompt: A graphic design, a 3D logo of a pink teddy bear, white background, no frame.
- Pictorial logo
- Midjourney prompt: A graphic design, pictorial logo of a bird, minimalistic, round frame, black, white background.

- Midjourney limitations when creating a logo
Midjoureny faces a significant challenge when it comes to letters and words.
If you are searching for a straightforward logo that solely features your business name, you may need more than Midjoureny to suit your needs.
Additionally, adding a tagline or numbers in the logo won’t be possible with Midjourney as the software often makes mistakes. You will still need advanced tools such as Photoshop to finesse the logo.
Midjoureny can help you create a high-quality logo, but a professional in the field will still be needed to make the logo perfect.

What should you consider when designing your logo in Midjourney?
Before jumping on Midjoureny and starting typing prompts, it is advisable to understand what makes a logo.
Learning the parts of a logo will ensure that you add all necessary components to your prompt and receive a professional and presentable AI-generated outcome.
- Logo anatomy
The logomark is often the most recognizable part of the logo. The logomark is the image or the icon on the brand’s logos.
Logomarks can vary in shape and size. They may feature an image, like the Twitter or Apple logos, or consist solely of letters, like the monograms used by luxury fashion brands such as Gucci.
In a logo, the wordmark refers to the section that includes words and can be placed in various positions. Designers must exercise caution when incorporating wordmarks to ensure they are legible and easily comprehended.
Some companies choose to use wordmark logos exclusively. However, in such cases, designers must be creative and utilize various fonts to avoid a lackluster and unappealing logo due to the absence of other design elements.
Examples of brands that have wordmark logos are Google and Coca-Cola.
Taglines in logos give additional information about the company.
Taglines are considered less important in logo creation and are usually located beneath the logomark and wordmark. Taglines are used by new or less-known companies that need to inform their potential customers about their occupations.
- Establishment date and location.
Establishment date and location are typical elements we often see on a beer’s logo, informing customers about a company’s history. Dates often give customers a sense of reassurance regarding a company's stability and establish credibility.
In modern logos, designers avoid placing establishments and locations.
A frame, even just for decoration, helps create a clear shape. When designing a logo, there is a basic shape without a frame, but using a frame allows designers to have more control over the shape that viewers see.
- Negative space.
Negative space refers to the distance between the elements in the logo. Designers must create appropriate distance between the elements to make the logo look well organized and not cluttered.
- Background.
The background appears behind the logo and can come in different colors and textures.
The designer can ensure the logo remains readable on different backgrounds during the design process.
💡 AI can also create amazing QR code art. Learn how to use AI to create branded AI QR codes .
- In conclusion
Midjourney is a useful tool for users who need to improve their graphic design skills.
The software can quickly create a logo, saving time and money. However, it's important to note that while artificial intelligence is advanced, it's still advisable to seek advice from a logo designer to address any areas where Midjourney may fall short.

Learn how to use Midjourney for logo design development. See examples of prompts that create unique and creative logo ideas using A.I.
Do you wanna know how to create AI-generated logos?
MidJourney is an A.I. Art platform that can help you generate a wide range of unique and creative logo ideas , and it can do so in a fraction of the time a graphic designer would take.
They might not be perfect, but it’s a good tool to just get logo ideas , fast and easily.
How to write prompts for logo design in MidJourney?
In the realm of graphic design, artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the way logos are created.
The reason is simple: A logo that would take human designer hours, if not days to create, can be generated by AI in a few seconds .
Table of Contents
- Choose the type of logo you want
- Refer to artistic genres/movements
- Use names of famous designers
- Describe the artistic technique
- Tell the A.I. what NOT to do
Apart from getting multiple ideas fast, you can refer to specific genres, and techniques and you can even ask the A.I. to imitate your favorite designer !
Before designing your logo, you might want to define your brand first—check out my other article on how to use ChatGPT for brand strategy development.
PS. Also check out my other article, where I describe how to use Dall-e 3 for logo design .
You can also consume this content in video form on my YT channel :
Also, check out my other article where I feature best AI art generators (Midjourney is just one of them).
Midjourney Logo Design Prompts
The outcome will depend greatly on your input—but can start with a simple prompt like this (type /imagine first):
a mascot logo of a robot, simple, vector --no shading detail
However, the more data you give the A.I. to work with, the more accurate results you’ll get—and in this article, I will show you how to write better prompts .
Just note that Midjourney is NOT good with text , so you will have to use Illustrator , or Canva , in order to add text or refine your designs.
For that, I recommend you also check out my other article where I describe my logo design process in detail.
Update: Check out this massive collection of styles , genres and artists to use in your Midjourney prompts.
Now, let’s dive right into designing logos using Midjourney.
1. Choose the type of logo you want
First of all, you need to decide on what type of logo you want, and again—keep in mind that MidJourney is NOT good with text.
However, you can use it to create letter-mark logos , mascot logos, emblem logos , and basically any type of pictorial mark .
Each type of logo has its own unique advantages and disadvantages , so you’ll need to decide on what type of logo you want.
Lettermark Logo
The first example is the lettermark logo a type of logo that uses a stylized letter or multiple letters—here’s a prompt example:
a lettermark of letter A, logo, serif font, vector, simple --no realistic details
It’s usually either the first letter of the company name or the company's initials that have been somehow stylized to create a unique, distinct look & feel.
This type of logo is usually used by companies with long names or big corporations that operate in various industries and categories .
Mascot Logo
The second type of logo is the mascot logo, which is a type of logo that features a cartoon character or animal —an example of the prompt:
Mascots help make the brand look more relatable and evocative , which in turn helps create a strong bond with the audience .
This type of logo is often seen in businesses related to sports , entertainment , and food and drink .
Emblems Logo
The third type of logo is called an Emblem logo —this kind of logo uses a symbol or crest as the main part of the design, usually with some text embedded in it .
an emblem for a motorcycle group, vector, simple --no photorealistic details
Emblems are often used by companies in industries like automotive , education , government , and the military— as it conveys a sense of legacy , tradition, and authority .
If you’re looking for some inspiration, probably the most famous emblem is the Harley Davidson logo.
2. Refer to artistic genres/movements
Different art styles can create different feelings , and by referring in your prompts to some, you can get your logo made in a certain vibe .
For example, if you need your brand to create an old-school look and feel—then use the word like “old-school” and “retro”, but you can go a step further and indicate a specific genre , like Psychedelic Art for example.
Psychedelic Art
Psychedelic art is a style of art characterized by bold , bright colors , abstract and surreal imagery , and dreamlike quality.
a logo for an ice cream brand, simple, vector, Psychedelic Art --no text realistic details
This style is often associated with the use of hallucinogenic drugs and reflects the mind-bending and consciousness-expanding effects of these substances.
A great style to create sweet designs, with spirals and other interesting “dream-like” effects.
The De Stijl movement is characterized by its use of simple geometric shapes , horizontal and vertical lines , and a limited color palette of primary colors.
a logo for an ice cream brand, simple, vector, De Stijl--no text realistic details
The prompt above will give you quite interesting results—I really like using this genre for logo design.
When designing a logo in the style of De Stijl , the A.I. will try to use shapes like rectangles , squares, and lines , as well as primary colors like red , blue , and yellow, besides black & white , of course.
Pop Art is characterized by its use of recognizable imagery from popular culture.
a logo for an ice cream brand, simple, vector, Pop Art--no text realistic details
This style incorporates elements such as advertisements , comic strips , and everyday objects, often rendered in a bold and colorful style .
Using Pop Art, or any of the above-mentioned styles for that matter, will definitely bring some sense of nostalgia and appeal to a certain audience who remember that era (the 1950s).
3. Use names of famous designers
By using the names of some of the most famous logo designers, you can basically tell the A.I. to imitate a certain aesthetic or style of that artist.
I have found that only two logo designers are officially recognized by Midjourney, Paul Rand and Saul Bass ( check the list here ).
However, people generally get good results with other famous logo designers as well—here’s a great list of graphic designers to try with Midjourney.
The work of Paul Rand is characterized by a distinct minimalist , simplistic style.
a flat vector logo of a lion head, minimal, by Paul Rand --no realistic photo details
That’s why the lion’s head , in the example below, has been simplified and stylized to reflect Rand's minimal approach.
The goal is to create a design that is bold and memorable , while also being clean and straightforward.
Piet Mondrian
It’s also a good idea to use the names of other artists —like Piet Mondrian , for example.
/imagine a flat vector logo of a lion head, minimal, by Piet Mondrian --no realistic photo details
Although it might give you similar results to using De Stijl movement in your prompt, however—you get the idea.
In this case, the lion’s head looks totally different from the previous example, which resembles more of the De Stijl movement that I described above.
Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picasso is yet another famous artist, although his work spans multiple genres.
a flat vector logo of a lion head, minimal, by Pablo Picasso --no realistic photo details
I guess in this case, the A.I. went for Cubism as he is the most famous for that.
In this example, the lion's head looks kind of mean and angry as it has been built by using mostly just triangles and sharp angles , which are the elements that characterize the Cubism genre.
4. Describe the artistic technique
Another way to get better results with your prompts is to refer to some artistic techniques.
There are certain proven techniques that logo designers often use, like making an outline, using gradients or imitating a screen-print technique.
Outline technique
One way to design your logo, is to use the outline technique, it can be particularly effective in creating logos that are simple , yet recognizable.
a simple logo of a diamond, line, flat, vector--no realistic photo details
Using the outline effect is a good idea if you want to incorporate pseudo 3d elements into your designs, but without making them too complex (no shadows, gradients, etc.)
Gradient technique
Secondly, logo designers often also use the gradient technique , which involves creating a gradual blend of color and tones, either transitioning from light to dark, or from one color to another.
a simple logo of a diamond, gradient, flat, vector --no realistic photo details
In the context of logo design, gradient techniques can be used to add a subtle , yet impactful style to your logo.
One of the most famous examples of logos using the gradient technique would be the Instagram logo.
Screen-print technique
Another technique you can use for logo design is the screen-print technique, (used for t-shirts, posters, bags etc.)—it’s basically about stacking multiple layers on top of each other to create a design.
a simple logo of a diamond, screen-print, flat, vector --no realistic photo details
It’s characterized by bold designs with clean lines and vivid colors , which makes it a great choice for logo design as well.
Screen printing is often used for the mass production of items like t-shirts, so if you’re planning on starting a new clothing brand—it makes a great choice.
5. Tell the A.I. what NOT to do
When working with any AI tool, not only Midjourney , it's important to provide clear guidelines and criteria not only for what you want but also for what you don’t want.
Otherwise, if you leave it to A.I., it cane make your designs overly complex or cluttered.
--no text, realistic photo details, shadows
For the most part, when it comes to logo design you should use some of the above—excluding any text, shadows, and realistic details.
Additionally, by letting the AI tool know what you don't want, you can help it generate better logo concepts, that are more up to your standards.
Conclusions
Using AI tools like MidJourney can be an effective way to streamline your process and help you explore a lot of ideas , and so fast.
However, I believe that AI won’t entirely replace a logo designer’s job, it will rather help us, designers, to generate more ideas faster.
Ultimately, you will still need the expertise of a professional designer to tweak your designs and polish them up.
Whether you're a seasoned designer or just starting out, MidJourney can be a valuable tool in your logo design process , as long as you know how to use it.

Midjourney is a top-notch AI logo maker for your industry. It uses AI to make one-of-a-kind designs that fit your brand in just a few seconds.
Create Logos with Midjourney
How to make a logo using Midjourney? Here’s a simple five-step guide that shows you how to create a logo in Midjourney.
Step 1: Make a Logo Concept
The initial step you do to make a great logo is to come up with a clear idea. This idea will be like a plan that helps you create the logo. You need to think about the kind of company you’re making a logo for and what announcement you want your design to send.
For example, when creating logos for a fitness label that focuses on outdoor camps, think about using natural and energetic colors such as green to represent the energetic and nature-related qualities of your benefit.
Using pictures or colors that don’t make sense, like showing the gym indoors, might make people not understand what you’re trying to say and take their attention away from your main brand message.
Step 2: Open Midjourney
When you know what you want your logo to look like, you can make it a reality with Midjourney. To get started with Midjourney, go to their official website. Don’t worry if the website looks a little complex – it’s easy to use.
First, press the Sign In option to go to the Discord channel where they make logos. You can make a free Discord account if you haven’t any. After you log in, find the #newbies room.
The main command you tell the bot to do is /imagine, but other instructions like /blend can also help use pictures for ideas.
Step 3: Create a Prompt
After you come up with a clear idea, the next step is to crack that idea into directions that Midjourney’s AI can follow. These directions tell the AI how to make a logo using Midjourney you’re thinking of.
Imagine a Midjourney that helps you be creative. It lets you make logos using abstract designs, images, and text. Just remember, the AI strength does not always do what you want. You should try a few times to get the ideal design.
Don’t forget to change the size settings according to what you need.
Step 4: Logo Review and Editing
After Midjourney creates some logos for you using your prompts, review the designs. If you find logos you like but want to make small changes, you can use Midjourney to adjust or improve them.
Remember that the text style created by Midjourney might not look right and might need some changes. If you find a great logo design with bad text, don’t stress – you can improve it with different tools.
Step 5: Finalize the Logo
After you’ve made and fine-tuned your logo:
- Look at it one last time.
- Make sure it looks good, that the words and pictures are sharp and clear, the colors go together well, and all the important parts are just right.
- Make sure everything matches your brand.
Remember that a carefully designed logo can make a strong impact on the customers and take the brand to higher levels if you’re happy with the logo you’ve created using Midjourney; well done!

Prompt: Create an abstract logo capturing dynamic energy through fluid lines, vibrant colors, and geometric precision
2. Artistic Movements/Genres
Various art types can evoke various emotions, and if you mention them when describing what you want, you can have your logo designed with a specific mood in mind.
If you want your brand to have a classic and nostalgic style, you can use keywords like “retro” and “old-school.” You can also get more specific by mentioning a particular style, such as Psychedelic Art, for instance.
Popular culture imagery is a characteristic of Pop Art. This style uses ads, comics, and regular objects, usually drawn brightly and colorfully.
Whether you use Pop Art or any of those styles we discussed earlier, it will surely make people who remember the 1950s feel nostalgic and interested.
The De Stijl movement is known for using basic shapes like squares and rectangles, straight up-and-down and side-to-side lines, and only a few main colors.
The question you just read can lead to some great outcomes. We enjoy using this style for creating logos.
When creating a logo inspired by the De Stijl style, the AI will aim to incorporate shapes such as lines, squares, and rectangles, along with primary colors in addition to black and white.
Psychedelic Art
Psychedelic art is known for its vivid and vibrant colors, abstract and strange pictures, and dreamy feel.
This look is usually linked to taking mind-altering drugs and shows the way these substances can make your thoughts and perceptions all twisty and open up in strange ways.
3. Use Famous Designer Names
You can make the A.I. copy a specific look or style from logo designers by mentioning their names.
Pablo Picasso
Pablo Picasso is a well-known artist who created art in many different styles.
Piet Mondrian
Piet Mondrian is a helpful suggestion. At the same time, it may produce similar outcomes as using the De Stijl movement in the prompt.
Paul Rand’s work is known for its simple and minimalistic style. In the example below, Rand’s approach is reflected in the stylized and simplified lion’s head.
4. Artistic Technique
Use artistic techniques using the Midjourney logo prompts.
Outline Technique
A simple yet effective logo design approach is using outlines. Using the outline result is great for adding pseudo-3D features to designs without adding complexity like shadows or gradients.
Prompt: Create a basic diamond logo using simple lines and vectors, without any detailed realism
Gradient Technique
Additionally, logo designers frequently use gradients, blending colors gradually from light to dark or transitioning between different colors.
Prompt: Create a basic diamond logo with a gradient technique using simple lines and vectors, without any detailed realism
Gradient methods can enhance your logo with a stylish touch. The logo of Facebook and Instagram is a well-known example of using gradients.
Screen Print Technique
You can employ the screen-print strategy for your logo design using Midjourney logo prompts, where layers are stacked to create designs, often used for items like t-shirts and bags.
Prompt: Create a basic diamond logo with a screen print technique using simple lines and vectors, without any detailed realism
It’s known for bold, clean designs and vibrant colors, making it ideal for logos too. The screen printing option is great for mass-producing items such as t-shirts, ideal for launching a unique clothing brand.
How Can My Midjourney Logo Prompts Be Better?
For better logo design prompts, being willing to explore is important. When you begin, not knowing what you want in your pictures can feel a bit scary.
Sometimes, having too many choices can make it difficult to imagine even simple ideas. So, start with simple ideas to make it easier to get started.
- A useful suggestion is to keep adding new ideas to your starting point. When you bring in new elements to your initial idea, you open up more possibilities for creativity to make your exploration method better.
- Improve your image searches using different styles, colors, lighting, and settings. Adopt these additions to get the results you want.
And that’s the way to create a complete logo using Midjourney with Midjourney logo design prompts.
Midjourney V3 was a mysterious puzzle. It didn’t always do what we expected, so we had to make many adjustments to our instructions to get the results we desired.
V4 provides outcomes very close to what we wish without much tweaking. With V5, things become even more realistic.

50+ Midjourney Logo Design Prompts: The Complete Logo Guide
26 Jul, 2023
One of my favorite things so far about Midjourney has been AI-logo design (here are some other amazing prompts to try in Midjourney ).
When you get a low-quality logo designed for your brand, or don't have a logo at all, you are doing yourself a major disservice. Because a logo isn't just a pretty image.
It's a shorthand for all of the values that are important to your brand.
There's an entire world behind each of these graphics . When you see one, something remarkable happens. Consciously or subconsciously, your brain is flooded with stories, emotions and experiences. And it happens in an instant: the human brain processes images 60,000 times faster than text.
Maybe you were using a cheap logo as a temporary placeholder. Or you threw something together yourself because a professional designer was too expensive.
There's no excuse to have a low-quality logo anymore: with Midjourney you can create a professional quality logo design at a fraction of the cost .
You can find these logo design prompts, as well as 50+ other practical prompts for applications like Graphic Design, Web Design, Illustration & Photography in our free Midjourney prompt book:
Tips for starting
Simple prompts do better. Start your prompts with " logo design for... " and go from there.
Text doesn't work great yet in Midjourney , but if you know how to use Photoshop or free alternatives like Photopea or Canva , you can easily replace the text with your own.
Use designers & artists in your prompts who are good at the style you are looking for. Here's a list of well known graphic designers and artists to get you started.
If you're feeling creative , use other types of designers such as fashion designers and architects in your prompts.
If you aren't familiar with Midjourney parameters , review this parameter and command cheatsheet (with prompt examples) to get up to speed.
1. Pictorial Mark Logo (Graphic)
A pictorial mark, also known as a brand mark, is probably what you have in mind when you think "logo". Think of the iconic Apple logo, the Twitter bird, the Shell logo:
You can pair your mark with text, but the mark must be able to exist by itself. Because of this, it can be a tricky logo type to use for new companies without strong brand recognition. You want to aim for something:
- Appropriate to your brand
- Distinctive & Memorable
Midjourney tends towards complexity so you must tell it you want the opposite.
Here are some legendary designers that I recommend for this specific style:
- Paul Rand - designer of the IBM & ABC logos
- Rob Janoff - designer of the Apple logo
- Sagi Haviv - designer of the US Open tennis logo
Tip: Use --no to specify what you don't want in your images.
Type --no and follow it up by all the things you don't want, word by word.
I'm explicitly telling Midjourney I don't want 'details' or 'realism' or 'shading'.
This command is very powerful and very underused. Midjourney defaults to a realistic & detailed style. This command releases it from that constraint, and can improve your results considerably.
See our guide to using negative prompts .
Minimal Line Marks
Minimal line marks have been popular for a while now - you can either create images of things or geometric shape and line designs.
Gradient Marks
Use gradient marks to give your brand an innovative feeling. You can even specify what colors you want within your prompt.
Japanese Style Marks
Japanese graphics have a distinct aesthetic and sensibility that Midjourney is excellent at capturing.
2. Lettermark Logo
Lettermarks, or Monograms, are logos that consist of letters, usually brand initials: IBM, AMC, NASA. The full names of these companies can be too long or too boring (seriously, how many people know that AMC stands for.... American Movie Classics ?) so these brands have opted to officially go by their initials.
Many tech companies use a single-letter lettermark (in addition to their wordmark) because this makes a great app icon:
Unfortunately, Midjourney cannot produce words, but it can generate single letters:
Typography vocabulary is your friend:
- Calligraphic
- Blackletter
3. Abstract/Geometric Logo
An abstract mark is a specific type of graphic logo.
Instead of being something recognizable like apple or a bird, it’s an abstract geometric form that represents your business.
You can add ' radial repeat ' to prompts to make a circular pattern.
An emblem logo consists of font intertwined within a detailed symbol. Think of badges, seals and crests. Emblems are often set on shield shapes (coming from a 900-year-old tradition of knights displaying their emblems on their shields) however they do not have to be.
These logos tend to have a very official appearance, thus they are the go-to choice for schools, universities, countries, and governmental departments.
Vintage Emblem
Put a retro spin on a modern brand with endearing vintage emblems.
Modern Game-Style Emblem
Clean, modern emblems are a popular choice amongst content creators like Youtubers who are trying to stand out visually from the crowd:
5. Mascot Logos
A mascot is an illustrated character that represents your company.
Midjourney is great for creating all types of 2D characters that are perfect for mascots.
6. Using Graphic Designers
You'll notice we've used a lot of designers in our prompts above. If you've been experimenting with these you'll notice they have a huge impact on the output.
Here's a longer list of designers you can use:
- Saul Bass - designer of the Vertigo movie poster
- Massimo Vignelli - designer of the New York City Subway Map
- Sagi Haviv - designer of the US Open tennis & National Geographic logos
- Ivan Chermayeff - designer of the Chase and Pan Am Logos
- Steff Geissbuhler - designer of the NBC and Time Warner Cable logos
Note that not all designers are represented in Midjourney's model. We've chosen some ones that we noticed consistently produced good results.
7. Using Creative People
Let's get trippy. In your prompts, try using creative people who aren't "graphic designers' per se to get very interesting styles. Here are some suggestions to get you started:
- Yoji Shinkawa - designer for the Metal Gear Solid series
- Yoshitaka Amano - designer for the Final Fantasy series
- Egon Schiele - portrait painter known for his twisted intense work
- Paul Klee - abstract painter known for his use of color and shape
- Piet Mondrian - painter known for his abstract geometric grids with primary colors
Check the ArtHive artist database for more ideas (remember, not all artists are represented in the model).

Add text to your logo
Combination marks are logos that integrate symbol and text together.
Sometimes this means they are so tightly integrated they cannot be separated (Burger King logo).
Other times this means the logo has a symbol that can be used by itself, text that can be used by itself, and a combination of both (Rolex and Lacoste logos). This allows the brand to be more versatile in their logo placements.
We've generated many graphical logo marks with Midjourney. You might want to make a combination mark by paring your graphic with high-quality font.
Here's how I recommend you do it:
Remove background
You want to remove the background because you want transparency that will let you to place your logo on any background color.
I recommend Adobe's Free Background Removal Tool . While you do have to sign up for an account, this is the only background removal tool I've found that is completely free (it doesn't make you pay for higher resolution). Another alternative is remove.bg .
I recommend Canva for adding text. Apart from the fact it's ridiculously easy to use, it comes preloaded with many logo templates so you can look for fonts and compositions that you like.
After signing up, search for "logos" in the templates.
Select a font you like, then use Canva's simple interface to import your image, and edit the text. You can change check out Canva's many fonts.
And there's the finished result:
Sign up for Canva for free .
How to fix bad text
Midjourney (and other AI generators) can't do text very well...yet.
For the time being, we'll have to do some manual work. I'll use this one as an example:
Let's say I generated this for my new beer brand called Kaiju Beer.
Identify the Font
If there's a font you want to use, go ahead. I like the feeling of the font that Midjourney gave me though, so I'll try to use something similar.
If you're not familiar any fonts (I'm not), there are sites that let you upload an image of text, and they will give you fonts that look like the one in the image. I recommend WhatTheFont :
The Alphacal Black JNL looks pretty close:
You can buy the font directly from the website.
Alternatively, you can do a quick Google search and download yet another lookalike font. I used Online Web Fonts to find a pretty close lookalike.
Use Photoshop or Photopea to Swap Text
I love Photopea . It's completely free and has a lot of the same functionality as Photoshop.
Here, I've imported my logo design into Photopea.
Then I'll import the custom font. Click on the [Text Tool] -> [Name of Current Font] -> Load Font.
To get rid of the existing text, use the Healing Brush Tool.
Alt / Option + Click to sample anywhere in the background of the image, then use that sample to paint over the text:
I put in my text, then apply my custom font and color. And that's the complete logo!
And that's how you can make a finished logo with Midjourney!
Midjourney V3 was something like a black box. It was unpredictable and required a lot of prompt-tweaking to get what we wanted. V4 on the other hand, gives us results that are much closer to what we want straight out of the box. V5 introduces a new level of realism.
As Midjourney and AI tools keep on improving, we can only imagine that this trend continues. We're excited to watch as all types of designers start to incorporate these tools into their workflows.
What are you creating with Midjourney? Let us know in the comments below!
You can fix the text in Midjourney with free photo editors like Photopea, and find fonts at WhatTheFont.com
Yes! Even if Midjourney is not capable of producing text yet, people have been experimenting with Stable Diffusion to create wonderful text results.

Thank you very much, awesome content! How do I create different versions of an existing logo – f.e. 3d, isometric? I uploaded the logo and gave it a try but it didn’t work well 🙂
Hey Vera, it’s difficult to do in Midjourney but your best bet is keeping the seed the same as you generate, and varying the prompt & settings. I wrote some more about the topic here: https://aituts.com/midjourney-seeds/

Midjourney Logo Design: Simple, Fast, and Professional
Do you want to start a company but have no money to pay a designer? Perhaps you’re stuck in the concept development phase and are seeking ways to generate different designs affordably.
Midjourney is your go-to AI companion, whether you’re a seasoned artist seeking to craft stunning art in mere minutes or a novice aspiring to create professional UI design . Brace yourself as we delve into another cutting-edge use case for Midjourney: developing a one-of-a-kind logo for your brand.
No need to worry if you’re not technically inclined; generating a logo on the platform is a breeze. Say goodbye to tedious design procedures. All you need is an idea, a Discord account to access Midjourney, and some editing tools to refine your masterpiece.
Alternatively, if you want this logo done really fast and could spare at least $7, you might want to check out Turbologo as it is definitely faster than learning Midjourney. In fact, it’s so convenient that you could have a beautifully designed logo ready in mere minutes.
Once ready, let’s begin transforming your brand from ordinary to extraordinary.
How to Create a Logo in Midjourney
Considering the quality and process difficulty, designing a logo can take a couple of hours. But thankfully, Midjourney’s here to lend a hand. Don’t worry; it can produce an output that meets your standard as long as you use the right prompt and follow the five-step guide below:
Begin with a Concept
Your logo is more than just a design—it embodies your brand. Although some see it as a simple visual, it reflects your story, personality, and the products or services you offer. A carefully crafted logo can communicate all these aspects to your audience.
But before you dive headfirst into the logo design, take a moment to plan out your concept. Think of it as the blueprint for your final product. By narrowing down your ideas into a specific theme, you can create a clear message that resonates with anyone who sees your logo.
Let’s say you’re starting a food business. Before you begin your design, you must decide what kind of food business it will be. Maybe you specialize in icy fruit beverages—the perfect treat for a hot summer day.
With your concept in mind, you can start brainstorming logo ideas that align with your theme. Calming colors like blue would be a great choice to convey the refreshing nature of your product. On the other hand, including hot drink icons would only confuse your target market and dilute the message.
Remember, your logo is the face of your brand. So take the time to plan your concept carefully, and you’ll be well on your way to designing an image that speaks for your business.
Access Midjourney
Midjourney is the AI platform where the magic mostly happens; type in some words, wait for a few seconds, and watch the logo unveil right before your eyes.
For now, you have to visit its official website . Don’t get startled by its interface because it’s not complicated. Just look for the Sign In button and click it to go directly to its Discord channel.
That’s right! Logo creation will happen on Discord. You can always make one for free if you don’t have an account.
For beginners, enter any Newcomers Room on your screen’s right side. You must also use commands to instruct the Midjourney bot; the most common is /imagine . But there are others too, such as /blend to use images as prompts .
Translate Your Concept into Prompts
Your creative mind will be an essential asset in this step, as every detail matters. Midjourney only needs you to translate your imagination into prompts, serving as the AI’s input to give you the logo you need.
Think of Midjourney as an extension of your mind, allowing you to create logos with text, images, abstract, and combo designs. But note that there can be instances when it can’t follow your prompts 100%. Examples will be provided in each category, but note that getting the best logo for your brand will likely require continuous trial and error.
Be prepared to spend some time rerolling the generated images again and again until you’re satisfied. If this is your first time using Midjourney, check out our MJ beginner’s guide . Trust me, it’s well worth knowing how to use this tool.
In the examples below, I’ll be sharing a few generated logos as a starting point. Keep in mind that these aren’t necessarily the best representations, as I didn’t spend much time refining them. They serve as a foundation for further exploration and improvement.
Text-Based Logos
As you peruse your favorite social media platforms, have you ever noticed how some brands are instantly recognizable by a simple letter logo? The secret lies in the power of text. These minimalist designs are perfect for efficiently conveying your brand’s identity to your audience.
Take, for instance, the Meta company, which uses a lowercase “f” as its logo. It’s so effective that there’s no mistaking that it represents Facebook. If you aim to create a memorable brand identity like this, utilizing a text-based logo might be the way to go.
So, if you’re aiming to do the same, you can type a Midjourney prompt like these:
“ an elegant S::3 monogram, Sans Serif, vector logo, symbolizing a fashion clothing line –v 5 “
With the prompt, Midjourney provided a monogram logo that captures an elegant fashion brand vibe. As you can see, the letter S appeared more visible because of the ::3 command, which is very handy.
If you wish to get a different result, add more details to the prompt to give the AI more input, like the font style or color you want.
Midjourney also has a way of adding up extra details that may not be aligned with your imagined design. If that’s the case, use the parameter –no (insert the text you don’t want to appear in the result) .
For instance, if I don’t want my logo to have borders, I’ll type –no borders . It’s simple, right? And for sure, you’ll be able to create a whole new world of designs by experimenting with different prompts with this AI.
If text-based logos aren’t for you, we have another option below.
Image-Based Logos
When crafting a logo for your brand, Midjourney excels in creating visually stunning imagery, providing a diverse range of options. However, it’s important to remember that your logo should still reflect your brand identity and not simply a trendy design.
Now, let’s consider an example. Suppose I’m a startup company passionate about serving spicy burgers from my recipe. With this vision, my logo prompt could look something like this:
“a polygonal logo image of a burger, burning red color, –no text –v 5.”
By featuring a burger as the centerpiece of my logo design, I effectively communicate to my target market that I offer this food. Its burning red color also signifies the taste they can expect from the product. The beauty of this approach lies in its ability to convey a message without relying on words.
Moreover, I specifically requested a “polygonal style” in my prompt to guide Midjourney toward producing a logo that captures the essence of this aesthetic; it’s my way of differentiating myself from the others. This clever technique allows for greater customization and ensures that the final product aligns with my desired style.
If you’re new to using styles, check out our Midjourney art style gigapacks , where you’ll learn different aesthetics-related tricks. And the best part? It has 200 prompt samples!
Abstract Logos
You can immediately produce a thought-provoking design with Midjourney by translating the concept in your mind into prompts. With abstract logos, you won’t ever be limited by any elements. You can make symmetrical or asymmetrical figures; there’s no stopping you.
It’s because abstract logos can mean anything, and it’s primarily up to the audience how they’ll perceive a design. Sometimes, they can only understand it once they’ve experienced the product or service.
As they say, you get the best of both worlds—establish a unique design while conveying a strong message.
Let’s make a sample logo for you to see how Midjourney works with an abstract concept.
Imagine you’re part of a gaming company that specializes in adventure-packed mystery games. You have an idea in mind to include a continuous circular line to convey a sense of endless exploration, symbolizing a world full of excitement and discovery.
There’s undoubtedly a lot going on with this concept, but allowing room for creativity and interpretation is one of the objectives. So, for your prompt, consider the following:
“ a modern minimalist abstract logo for a gaming company, complementary colors, running circular lines, mysterious vibe –v 5 “
Combined Logos
Does your text-based logo feel lacking, or perhaps your image-based design would look better with your chosen name? Midjourney can give you both, but there’s a catch.
Let’s instruct Midjourney to provide both an illustration and a text with this prompt:
“ a dynamic logo of classic shoes, flat style, circular border, vintage color, Mythshire font style–v 5”
The command I used allowed Midjourney to understand that I needed both the illustration and text just by typing the keywords shoes and font style.
As mentioned earlier, Midjourney is better at giving image results than words. Upon observation, it only provides a randomly-arranged alphabet. But it can do a single letter or an acronym. And even if you include a particular phrase in the prompt, it doesn’t usually get the spelling right. If it does, it’s only a tiny chance.
Don’t worry; there’s a way to fix it. However, it’ll need your intervention as you must edit it on platforms such as Canva for beginners or any other tools you’re comfortable using.
Apply Necessary Changes
We already tackled Midjourney’s weakness—words. But with minimal editing, your logo can look as perfect as it should be. So what should you do? There are tools that can erase a part of a visual, but it’s not normally for free. Don’t fret, as there’s another trick. You can cover up the text and put a new one over it. Just like in this sample:
Now’s the time to give your final logo a once-over before its grand debut. It’s crucial to scrutinize its overall quality, such as the sharpness of its text and icon, the harmony of its color palette, its appropriate size, and other crucial elements. Don’t let any detail go unnoticed; a well-crafted logo can leave a lasting impression on your customers/audience and elevate your brand to new heights.
Midjourney is undeniably an excellent tool for brands, saving designers hours of work. But that’s not its only advantage; it doesn’t compromise quality if given the right prompt. And with its latest version finally here, there is surely a bigger room to explore.
While Midjourney is undoubtedly a powerful tool, it’s important to note that it’s not a substitute for human creativity. There are still areas where it can improve, and it’s essential to maintain a balance between human input and AI technology. So, while Midjourney can streamline your logo design process, don’t forget to infuse your brand’s unique essence and personality into the final product.
