Built by Filipino, American, and British engineers in 1905, Cape Bolinao Lighthouse is one of the five major lighthouses in the Philippines and is the second-highest of these five, bested only by Ilocos Norte’s Cape Bojeador Lighthouse. Standing atop Punta Piedra Point in Barangay Patar in Bolinao, it guided ships cruising in the West Philippine Sea, until its batteries gave out in 2004.
The lighthouse may not be working anymore, but it still attracts many visitors to join a Cape Bolinao lighthouse tour , thanks to its unique architecture and the picturesque views that it offers, making it a perfect spot for picture-taking.
The illumination room and the 140-step spiral staircase may be closed to visitors, but with the lighthouse sitting atop a hill with a 72-m elevation, even just standing at the base gives you scenic views of lush greenery and the sparkling ocean. It’s no wonder that this over-a-century old lighthouse has become one of Bolinao’s most enduring and instantly recognizable icons.
11. Our Farm Republic

If you want to learn more about farming and experience what it’s really like to grow and harvest your own produce, visit Our Farm Republic in Barangay Torre II, Mangatarem. While they offer courses and seminars for both new and experienced farmers, there are also several activities for you to try here.
You can go on farm tours, harvest produce to take home, and even learn farm-to-table best practices by picking the ingredients and cooking the food yourself in a Pangasinan culinary tour . They offer a variety of dishes including kalabasa (pumpkin) soup, flower salad (which uses edible organic fresh flowers), tinolang manok (chicken and ginger soup), native pork lechon (roasted suckling pig), and desserts including turonopig, a cross between turon (fried banana rolls) and tupig (roasted rice cake wrapped in banana leaves). Vegetarian options are also available if you’re on a plant-based diet.
You can also take home bottled preserves of different fruits and vegetables, as well as dragonfruit, wild cherries, and java plum wine from the farm’s own winery, Santiago Vino Santo. Balingasay River in Bolinao is considered the cleanest river in Pangasinan and one of the cleanest in the Philippines. It is a protected area that is home to 15ha of mangroves, some of which are over a century old. The Bolinao local government was given the Philippines Wetlands Conservation award for protecting the mangroves in the river.
You can swim, bird watch, or even try fishing in the river, but one of the most relaxing ways to take it all in is through a river cruise. The cruise is usually a part of Pangasinan tour packages, but visitors who like moving at their own pace can book it on its own. The river cruise usually lasts for about an hour and comes with lunch, so you can completely chill and fill yourself up while taking in the fresh air and the relaxing views of mangroves, fish, and birds. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a monkey near the river banks!
Bolinao Falls is made up of three waterfalls—Bolinao Falls 1, 2, and 3. But don’t let the names fool you—they may not sound spectacular, but they’re actually some of the top Pangasinan tourist spots. Along with Patar Beach, the three falls located in Barangay Samang Norte along Bolinao River are the most visited places in Bolinao. While the falls are accessible via car and don’t require much walking, the roads going there can be rough, so be prepared for a bumpy ride.

Bolinao Falls 2 is more suited for swimming and has a pool with varying depths, including shallow spots for children.
Tourists also spend more time here when joining a Bolinao Falls tour , as there are cottages that visitors can rent and spend the day at. The last waterfall, Bolinao Falls 3, usually has fewer people, so it’s perfect if you’re seeking a more peaceful experience.

Tondol White Sand Beach in the municipality of Anda has been nicknamed “The Little Boracay of the North,” and this monicker has made it one of the most visited beaches near Manila. Like Boracay, one of the top beach destinations in the Philippines, Tondol has long stretches of fine white sand and clear blue waters.
The beach is perfect for families with children, as the shallow parts of the waters stretch out far from the shore. In fact, the waters here are shallow enough that you can walk to the nearby islets, and during low tide, several sandbars will appear.
If you want a more fun experience, you can time your visit when the inflatable water park is set up in the shallow waters of the beach so you can try the slides, tunnels, and other obstacles that it offers.
Tourists on a day trip can rent cottages along the shore, but if you want to stay longer, you can book accommodations at one of the many resorts and bed and breakfasts near the shore.
5. Enchanted Cave
The Enchanted Cave in Bolinao is a good place to cool off if you’re visiting Pangasinan during the summer months. Inside is a pool of clear natural freshwater with an estimated maximum depth of 6ft, making it ideal for a refreshing swim. It is located in a park near Patar Beach.
It is deemed enchanted because locals believe that millions of years ago, Bolinao was actually underwater. This belief is supported by the presence of coral rocks and fossilized clams in the municipality, many of which you’ll see on your way to the entrance to the cave. The fact that the Enchanted Cave in Bolinao is made of coral limestone also supports this theory. This history makes the cave one-of-a-kind and is one of the reasons why it has become a favorite stop amongst tourists.
Outside the cave, you can also swim in an outdoor pool or enjoy the mini waterfalls inside the park. Those who want to extend their stay can rent cabanas in the park.

Patar Beach in particular is famous for its long stretch of golden sands and clear blue waters that make for a refreshing swim. If you’re a fan of sunsets, Patar Beach will not disappoint as its location just facing the West Philippine Sea gives it amazing sunset views.
For a day trip, you can rent any of the huts dotted along the beach, but there are also a handful of resorts nearby if you wish to stay longer. You may also camp at the beach and use the public toilets and showers for a fee.

Cabongaoan Beach is located in the town of Burgos. The trip to the remote beach is not easy and can take up to an hour from the town proper, but once you see its stretch of white sand beach and blue waters, you’ll instantly know that it was worth it.
There are not a lot of accommodations in the vicinity, so it would be best if you plan your trip as early as possible. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also bring a tent and camp at the beach.
In recent years, the beach has become popular among tourists thanks to its Death Pool, a natural pool that requires quite a bit of effort to reach. You’ll need to wear proper footwear as you will have to traverse and climb rock formations with sharp edges. Despite its name, though, the Death Pool is not really dangerous.
Many tourists actually enjoy taking a refreshing dip at the pool. You need to be careful as some of the edges of the pool can be sharp. Its original name was Depth Pool, but some locals started calling it Death Pool, and the intriguing name caught on.

Pangasinan Tourist Spots
Pangasinan is one of the most underrated tourist spots in the Philippines. It has a lot to offer, from its pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters to its delicious food and rich culture. There’s something for everyone in Pangasinan, whether you’re looking for a relaxing vacation or an adventure-filled holiday.
One of the best things about Pangasinan is its affordability. You can find plenty of budget-friendly accommodations and restaurants here, which is great for those on a tight budget. Plus, with so much to see and do, Pangasinan is a great place to visit year-round. Whether you’re looking for a summer getaway or a winter escape, Pangasinan has you covered.
1. Hundred Islands National Park
The best place to go in Pangasinan for both locals and people from other countries is the Pangasinan Hundred Island National Park in Alaminos. 123 islets in the Lingayen Gulf are all part of the protected area. Each islet looks different and is thought to have formed millions of years ago, which makes seeing them even more special and rare. Some of the islands have beaches with white sand, and some have cliffs made of limestone.
The best way to see the islands is to book a Hundred Islands island-hopping tour. This will take you to some of the main islands, like Quezon Island, Governor Island, and Children’s Island, which are three of the most popular. If you want a quick and easy day trip from Manila, you can also take a tour of the Hundred Islands.
If you have time, you can also go to Clave Island, Lopez Island, Marcos Island, Monkey Island, Bat Island, and Old Scout Island, which are all open to tourists. You can also go jet skiing, ziplining from island to island, helmet diving, or ride a banana boat. Of course, there’s nothing wrong if you want to swim in its water to relax and cool off.
With its beautiful views and many things to do, it’s no wonder that up to 500,000 people visit Hundred Islands National Park every year.
2. Cape Bolinao Lighthouse
This historic lighthouse offers a beautiful view of the coast and is a popular tourist destination in Pangasinan . The Cape Bolinao Lighthouse is one of the five most important lighthouses in the Philippines. It was built in 1905 by Filipino, American, and British engineers. It is the second-highest of these five lighthouses, after the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse in Ilocos Norte. It stood on top of Punta Piedra Point in Barangay Patar in Bolinao. It helped ships in the West Philippine Sea find their way until its batteries died in 2004.
Even though the lighthouse isn’t working anymore, it still draws a lot of people to visit the Cape Bolinao lighthouse . Its unique architecture and beautiful views make it a great place to take pictures.
The illumination room and the 140-step spiral staircase are closed to the public, but the lighthouse is on a 72-m-high hill, so even if you just stand at the base, you can see beautiful views of the ocean and lush greenery. It’s easy to see why this lighthouse, which is over a hundred years old, has become one of Bolinao’s most enduring and easily recognizable symbols.
3. Lingayen Beach
Most people know Lingayen Beach as the place where American General Douglas MacArthur landed during World War II in 1945. It is also known as a Pangasinan tourist spot for its soft sand, clear water, and overall laid-back feel.
This Pangasinan beach is a popular place for Filipinos to go in the summer to relax, swim, and enjoy the cool breeze from the ocean. It is in the municipality of Lingayen, the province’s capital. Many restaurants near the beach also serve seafood that has just been grilled. It’s also the best place to try Lingayen bagoong, a fish paste that the municipality is known for.
At Lingayen Beach, you can drive an all-terrain vehicle along the beach on the weekends, which is a lot of fun for people who like to be on the edge of their seats. You can stay at one of the many beach resorts or set up your tent on the camping grounds if you want to rough it.
4. Tondol White Sand Beach
The municipality of Anda’s Tondol White Sand Beach is known as “The Little Boracay of the North.” This name has made it one of the most popular beaches near Manila and known as Pangasinan tourist spot. Tondol has long stretches of fine white sand and clear blue water, just like Boracay, which is one of the best places to go to the beach in the Philippines.
The beach is great for families with kids because the water is shallow for a long way from shore. In fact, the water here is shallow enough that you can walk to the nearby islets, and when the tide goes out, there will be several sandbars.
If you want to have more fun, you can go to the beach when the inflatable water park is set up in the shallow water so you can try its slides, tunnels, and other obstacles.
5. Enchanted Cave
If you are in Pangasinan during the summer, the Enchanted Cave in Bolinao is a good place to cool off. Inside is a clear freshwater pool with a maximum depth of about 6 feet, making it a great place to swim. It’s in a park close to Patar Beach.
People who live there say it is magical because they think that Bolinao was underwater millions of years ago. This idea is backed up by the fact that the Enchanted Cave in Bolinao is made of coral limestone. This history makes the cave unique, which is one reason why it has become a popular place for Pangasinan tourist spot.
You can also swim in an outdoor pool or enjoy the small waterfalls inside the park, both of which are outside the cave. If you want to stay longer, you can rent a cabana in the park.
6. Bolinao Falls
Bolinao Falls is a popular tourist spot in Pangasinan due to its natural beauty and recreational activities. The falls are located in the town of Bolinao and are made up of several tiers of cascading water. The water is clear and refreshing, making it a popular spot for swimming and other water activities. The falls are also surrounded by lush vegetation, which makes them a beautiful and serene place to visit. In addition, several amenities are available at Bolinao Falls, including picnic areas, restrooms, and changing rooms, making it a convenient and enjoyable place to spend a day.
7. Patar Beach
This tourist spot in Pangasinan is similar to other beaches near Manila. It has become popular with people who want a quick break from the noise of the city. Patar Beach has become famous as a Pangasinan tourist spot for its beautiful gold-white sand and clear blue water, which can help you relax. If you like sunsets, you’ll love it there, because the beach faces the West Philippines Sea and has a beautiful view of the setting sun. You could also visit the nearby rock formations and corals, which have a breathtaking view.
Less than 1 km away from the Enchanted Cave is Patar Beach, one of the most popular beaches in Bolinao and all of Pangasinan. Like many beaches near Manila, this one is popular with people who want a quick break from the noise and chaos of the city. Patar Beach, in particular, is known for its long stretch of golden sand and clear blue water that make for a refreshing swim.Â
You can rent one of the huts dotted along the beach for a day trip, but there are also a few resorts nearby if you want to stay longer. You can also camp at the beach and use the public toilets and showers for a fee.
Visitors can also go to the nearby Patar Rock Formation, which has amazing views of the huge coral cliffs along the coast.
8. Cabongaoan Beach and Death Pool
The town of Burgos is where you can find Cabongaoan Beach. From the main part of town, it can take up to an hour to get to the remote beach, but once you see its long stretch of white sand beach and blue water, you’ll know it was worth it right away.
There aren’t many places to stay nearby, so it would be best to plan your trip as soon as you can. You can also bring a tent and camp at the beach if you want to try something new.
Death Pool, a natural pool that takes a lot of work to get to, has made the beach more popular as a Pangasinan tourist spot in recent years. You’ll need to wear the right shoes because you’ll be walking on and climbing sharp-edged rock formations. Even though it’s called the Death Pool, it’s not really that dangerous.
Many tourists like to cool off by taking a dip in the pool. Some of the edges of the pool are sharp, so you need to be careful. It was first called Depth Pool, but some people in the area started calling it Death Pool, and the name stuck.
9. Tayug Sunflower Eco Park
The Tayug Sunflower Eco Park is a haven for flower lovers. It is in the Barangay C. Lichauco area of Tayug, one of the Pangasinan tourist spot. As the name of the park suggests, there are a lot of flowers there, but not all of them are sunflowers. Beds of marigold, petunia, celosia and other ornamental plants can be found here. There are also different kinds of vegetables in the park that you can pick and harvest on your own for a fee.
The sunflowers are the main thing to see in this park, and they make for great photos. There are thousands of sunflowers in the 2-ha park and several sunflowers mazes with several photo stops, so you won’t have to wait too long to take pictures.
The best part is that the sunflowers are planted all year long, so you can be sure there will be blooms wherever you go. You can even take part of the experience home with you because the eco-park sells potted and blooming flowers, like zinnias, torenia, and sunflowers.
10. Balingasay River
Balingasay River in Bolinao is thought to be the cleanest river in the Pangasinan tourist spot and one of the cleanest in the Philippines. It is a protected area with 15ha of mangroves, some of which are more than a hundred years old. The Philippines Wetlands Conservation award was given to the local government of Bolinao for protecting the mangroves in the river.
You can swim, watch birds, or even fish in the river, but a river cruise is one of the most relaxing ways to take it all in. The cruise is usually included in tours of Pangasinan, but visitors who like to go at their own pace can book it separately. The river cruise usually lasts for about an hour and includes lunch, so you can relax and eat while taking in the fresh air and watching fish, birds, and mangroves. You might even see a monkey by the river if you’re lucky.
11. Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag

Camping fee is PhP200.00 ibig sabihin po ba nun kahit 5 persons kani matutulog dun PhP200.00 pesos lang babayarin namin?..
Just a quick update. All For Rent Nipasâ with Room have been eroded as part of its beautification which started last summer. New pavilion have been erected at Quezon island and another house too, making it only two houses. One at Governors Islands (known as PBB House) at the said island.
Itâs indeed more fun in the Philippines.

Been there last April 2014 and feels great to be back. You can see and feel the difference unlike before. No nipa huts, corals are cleaner and a new Pavilion at Quezon Island.
Great time to enhance my photo shoot skills as well.

Is it still ok or safe to go to hundred islands in the month of June? Please help.

Pangasinan Tourist Spot
The Province of Pangasinan is a must-visit tourist spot in the Philippines other than Ilocos Sur Tourist Spot , because of its stunning Hundred Islands, beaches, waterfalls, lush hills, and gorgeous landscapes.
The third-largest province in the Philippines, Pangasinan is situated in Northern Luzon and is a component of the Ilocos Region.
The name of the province is derived from salt, or “asin,” a significant industry in the coastal towns of Pangasinan.
It is a well-liked location with couples, families, and barkadas searching for weekend vacations, road excursions, or even a day trip from Manila and is easily reachable via 3 to 4 hours of travel from Metro Manila.
Just why go to Pangasinan? Pangasinan is renowned for its white sand beaches and several water sports due to its extensive beachfront that faces the west Philippine Sea.
In addition, it offers a variety of man-made and natural sights as well as fun activities that any traveler is sure to love.
Whether you are traveling alone or with loved ones, here are some tourist attractions in Pangasinan that you should check out.
Table of Contents
1. Our Farm Republic
Visit Our Farm Republic in Barangay Torre II, Mangatarem in Pangasinan Tourist Spot to learn more about farming and get a sense of what it’s like to raise and harvest your own food. The 5.8-ha organic farm doubles as a teaching facility and a tourist destination.
There are a number of things you can attempt here in addition to the courses and seminars they provide for both beginning and seasoned farmers.
On a Pangasinan culinary tour, you can choose the ingredients and prepare the meals yourself while taking part in farm excursions, harvesting produce to take home, and learning best practices for bringing food from farm to table.
Among the many dishes they serve are:
- Kalabasa (pumpkin) soup
- Flower salad (which uses edible, fresh flowers from organic farms)
- Tinolang manok (chicken and ginger soup)
- Native pork lechon (roasted suckling pig)
- Turonopig (a hybrid of turon, which are fried banana rolls, and tupig, which are desserts).
If you follow a plant-based diet, vegetarian options are also available.
You may also purchase dragonfruit, wild cherries, and java plum wine from the farm’s winery, Santiago Vino Santo, as well as bottled preserves of various fruits and vegetables.
You can choose to stay longer at Our Farm Republic’s bed and breakfast, where you’ll awaken the next morning to the sounds of nature and a freshly prepared delicious meal.

2. Cape Bolinao Lighthouse
The Cape Bolinao Lighthouse, one of the five significant lighthouses in Pangasinan Tourist Spot, Philippines, was constructed in 1905 by Filipino, American, and British engineers.
It is the second-highest of the five, only surpassed by the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse in Ilocos Norte. It was located atop Punta Piedra Point in Barangay Patar, Bolinao, and until its batteries failed in 2004 it directed ships traveling in the West Philippine Sea.
Despite the fact that the lighthouse is no longer operational, it continues to draw a large number of tourists who take part in Cape Bolinao lighthouse tours because of its distinctive construction and the beautiful scenery it provides, making it the ideal location for photos.
Visitors aren’t allowed in the lighting room or up the 140-step spiral staircase, but even standing at the foot of the lighthouse affords beautiful views of the glistening ocean and rich foliage.
It’s not surprising that this more than 100-year-old lighthouse has grown to be one of Bolinao’s most enduring and recognizable symbols.

3. Balingasay River
The Balingasay River in Bolinao is regarded as one of the cleanest rivers in the Philippines and the cleanest river in Pangasinan.
Mangroves cover 15 acres in this protected region, some of which date back more than a century. For preserving the mangroves in the river, the local government of Bolinao received the Philippines Wetlands Conservation award.
Although you can swim in the river, observe birds, or even attempt fishing there, a river cruise is one of the most tranquil ways to take it all in.
The boat is typically included in Pangasinan trip packages, although those who prefer to go at their own speed can reserve it separately.
You can fully relax and fill up while enjoying the fresh air and the tranquil views of mangroves, fish, and birds on the hour-long river cruise, which typically includes lunch. You might even see a monkey near the river banks if you’re lucky!

4. Tayug Sunflower Eco Park
Those who can’t get enough flowers will find paradise in the Tayug Sunflower Eco Park. The park, as its name suggests, is home to hundreds of blooms, however, not all of them are sunflowers.
Along with other decorative plants, you can also discover beds of marigold, petunia, and celosia here. Additionally, the park offers a variety of veggies that you can harvest on your own for a price.
The sunflowers in this park are the main draw and make for stunning photographs.
You won’t have to wait too long to take those shots because the 2-ha park is home to thousands of sunflower flowers and various sunflower mazes with photo stops.
The sunflowers are planted continuously throughout the year, which is the best part because you can count on seeing blooms whenever you go.
The eco-park also sells potted and blooming flowers, including zinnias, torenia, and of course, sunflowers, so you can even bring a piece of the experience home with you.
Address: XPGV+6RJ, Tayug, Pangasinan. Contact: 0915 555 6453. Price: Start from âą100
5. Lingayen Beach
The fact that American General Douglas MacArthur landed at Lingayen Beach in 1945 during World War II is what makes the beach most famous. It is renowned for its fine dunes, cool waters, and laid-back atmosphere.
This Pangasinan beach is a well-liked summertime destination for Filipinos looking to rest, unwind, swim, and take in the fresh ocean breeze. It is situated in the municipality of Lingayen, the provincial capital.
A lot of beachside eateries also offer freshly cooked fish. In addition, it’s the ideal location for you to try Lingayen bagoong, a fish paste for which the municipality is renowned.
Lingayen Beach is a great place for thrill-seekers since on the weekends you can drive an all-terrain vehicle along the shore.
If you want to rough it, you can pitch your tent on the camping grounds, or you can stay at one of the many resorts along the beach.
Address: Lingayen, the capital of Pangasinan province. Contact: 0915 555 6453. Price: Start from âą –
6. Bolinao Falls
There are three waterfalls that makeup Bolinao Falls: Bolinao Falls 1, 2, and 3. But don’t be fooled by the titles; although they may not sound remarkable, they are among of the most popular tourist destinations in Pangasinan.
The three falls in Barangay Samang Norte along the Bolinao River are among the most popular attractions in Bolinao, along with Patar Beach.
The roads leading there can be rocky, so be ready for a bumpy trip, even if the falls are easily reached by car and don’t require much walking.
Although all three falls are magnificent, their heights differ, with Bolinao Falls 1 being the tallest. The falls’ elevation and blue waters make it the ideal location for cliff diving.
Bolinao Falls 2 includes a pool with different depths, including shallow areas for kids, and is well suited for swimming.
When taking a tour of Bolinao Falls, tourists stay longer because they can rent cottages and spend the day there. The final waterfall, Bolinao Falls 3, is ideal if you want a more tranquil experience because it typically has fewer visitors.

7. Enchanted Cave
If you’re looking for Pangasinan Tourist Spot during the summer, the Enchanted Cave in Bolinao is a great place to cool off.
An interior pool with naturally clean fresh water and a maximum depth of 6 feet is perfect for a cooling dip. It may be found at a park close to Patar Beach.
Bolinao is thought to be charmed since residents think it was once underwater millions of years ago. The prevalence of coral rocks and fossilized clams in the area, many of which you’ll notice on your route to the cave entrance, lend credence to this theory.
This hypothesis is additionally supported by the coral limestone construction of the Enchanted Cave at Bolinao. The history of the cave makes it unique, which is one of the reasons it has become a popular tourist destination.
You can swim in an outdoor pool outside the cave or take in the park’s miniature waterfalls. For those who want to stay longer, the park offers cabana rentals.
Address: 8RV3+6RC, Patar Rd, Bolinao, Pangasinan. Contact: 0998 577 4303. Price: Start from âą –
8. Tondol White Sand Beach
One of the most popular beaches in Pangasinan Tourist Spot is Tondol White Sand Beach in the municipality of Anda, which has earned the moniker “The Little Boracay of the North.”
Tondol features extensive lengths of beautiful white sand and clear blue waters, similar to Boracay, one of the top beach attractions in the Philippines.
Given that the shallow sections of the seas extend far from the shore, the beach is ideal for families with young children.
The area’s waters are actually shallow enough for you to walk to the nearby islets, and at low tide, a number of sandbars will be visible.
If you want a more enjoyable experience, plan your trip when the inflatable water park is set up in the beach’s shallow water so you can test out its slides, tunnels, and other challenges.
Cottages along the shore can be rented by visitors on day trips, but if you wish to stay longer, you can reserve lodging at one of the many resorts and bed & breakfasts nearby.
Address: At the northern tip of Anda. Contact: – Price:

This beach, like many others close to Manila, is well-liked by people looking for a quick getaway from the city’s bustle. Particularly Patar Beach is well-known for its expansive stretches of golden sand and cool, clear seas that are ideal for swimming.
Patar Beach won’t let you down if you love watching sunsets because of its prime location directly in front of the West Philippine Sea.
You can hire any of the beachside huts for a day excursion, but if you want to stay longer, there are a few resorts close by. Additionally, there is a cost to camp at the beach and use the public restrooms and showers.
Address: Bolinao, Pangasinan in Ilocos Region. Contact: 09173952694. Price:
- Entrance Fee: FREE

10. Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag
The Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag is much more beautiful in person than it is in photographs.
You might assume it to be similar to many of the large churches seen around the Philippines, but this church in Manaoag is unique because it was designated a Minor Basilica in 2015. This acknowledges the historical and aesthetic significance of the church.
In addition, it is a canonical associate of Rome’s Papal Basilica of Saint Mary Major.
Millions of people have visited the church since it was built in 1605, and hundreds of devout people still travel to Manaoag every year, particularly during Holy Week.
There is also the image of Our Lady of the Rosary of Manaoag, which many Catholics consider to be miraculous. Additionally, it’s a stop on a Pangasinan pilgrimage journey.
You don’t have to be religious to appreciate the buildings and the area’s beauty. The church itself is perched atop a hill, and while the interior is decorated with intriguing religious paintings, the exterior is very picturesque.
Address: Milo St, Manaoag, Pangasinan. Contact: (075) 529 0132. Price: Start from âą –
11. Cabongaoan Beach and Death Pool
The town of Burgos is home to Cabongaoan Beach. Although getting to the secluded beach from the town center can take up to an hour, once you see its expanse of white sand beach and azure waves, you’ll know it was worth the effort.
Since there aren’t many places to stay nearby, it’s ideal to start planning your vacation as soon as you can. You can even bring a tent and camp at the beach if you’re feeling daring.
The Death Pool, a difficult-to-access natural pool, has helped the beach gain popularity among tourists in recent years.
You will need to wear appropriate footwear because you’ll be climbing and traversing sharp-edged rock formations. The Death Pool is not actually dangerous, despite its moniker.
Actually, a lot of visitors take pleasure in cooling off in the pool.
You must exercise caution because some of the pool’s edges can be jagged. Depth Pool was its original name, but some locals began calling it Death Pool, and the intriguing moniker spread.

Hundred Islands Pangasinan (DIY GUIDE): The Jewels of Alaminos
Here is a comprehensive DIY travel guide to Hundred Islands National Park, one of the top tourist spots in Alaminos, Pangasinan. Discover the best things to do and the most popular attractions. Read on.
If I remember it right, there was only an instance or two when I got to see a beach and swim on seawaters during my childhood years.
I grew up in the remote Cordilleran mountains and rarely had the chance to visit the lowlands. That holds true for my two other siblings as well.
So when I told them that I would bring them to the Hundred Islands National Park, they leaped with superb joy and excitement. Since elementary, weâve been hearing about it and seeing it in our textbooks.
So we were all in swelling eagerness and excitement to personally glimpse and experience its wonders.
Even our dad tagged along though heâs not really into traveling. This was our very first family weekend getaway outside the Cordilleras.Â
Our jump-off was Baguio City since that is where we were staying at that time. From there, we took an early bus to Pangasinan, dropped off at Urdaneta City, hopped on a bus to Dagupan, then rode another bus there to reach Alaminos. This is where the Hundred Islands National Park is located.

Things to Do in Hundred Islands Pangasinan
There were four of us in the group, and we opted for a day tour. I was hoping thatâs more than enough to explore the most famous sights in the Hundred Islands.
Obviously, we rented a small boat. I gave a tip to the boatman because I knew how exhausting it is to work all day long with minimal pay.Â
From the dock, we set off to explore the islands. Just riding a boat was a fascinating experience itself for me.
Seeing the bluish sea and the forest-clad islets and islands thrilled me like crazy. I bet even my siblings were blown away by the sights.
The usual itinerary for a day tour is to visit the four major islands, namely: Governorâs Island, Childrenâs Island, Marcos Island, and Quezon Island plus islets within or near them.
On each of the islands, there are unique activities you can do. Here are some of them:
1. SnorkelingÂ
This is my favorite, and even my siblings say so. Although the corals are no longer as healthy and vibrant, we did see different fish species and giant clams!
Thankfully, there are parts of the park, wherein, human activities are prohibited to restore the corals.
Hopefully, I can see healthy and thriving coral reefs the next time I come back. By the way, you need to allot Php 250 for snorkeling gears.
2. Swimming
You can swim on almost every island you will visit. Just make sure you donât swim too far from the coast and always wear your life vest. How I loved swimming with the fishes and playing with seaweeds.
Although expect crowds on every island, there are portions that are non-touristy. For an introvert like me, swimming in a less crowded spot is just heaven.
From time to time, we would catch sight of corals and different marine species.
3. Island Hopping
With over a hundred islets and islands in the Hundred Islands National Park, island hopping is a top activity. But you donât need to see all of them.
Visiting just the four major islands is already more than enough to call it a lifelong adventure. Thatâs the standard itinerary for a day tour. And we visited these four islands in half a day.Â
But if you plan to continue tomorrow, you can check out other remoter islands such as: Sulpot Island, Abad Santos Island, Devil Island, Lopez Island, Romulo Island, Turtle Island, and Hernandez Island.Â
4. Go for a Pilgrimage
If youâre a Catholic, there is an island with a huge statue of Jesus as well as crosses leading to it, signifying the Stations of the Cross. Following these crosses towards the statue makes up to an ideal spiritual retreat.
It was sort of a challenging hike when we came here, though, because of the simmering midday heat. We almost slept when we rested at the peak of the island where the statue stands.Â
5. Trekking and more trekking
Some islands have high points that offer a panoramic view of the surrounding islands and the sea. You have to trek to reach these points. Donât worry.
Itâs easy trekking as trails are well-established and trees line most of these, giving you natural shade. From time to time, youâll catch sight of colorful birds as well as flowers and other flora and fauna species.
6. Kayaking
I hope to do this the next time I visit. Who would not love paddling a boat from one island to the next and just immersing in rustic sceneries?
Rent for a kayak in an hour is Php 250, and for a whole day rental, the fee is Php 750. A kayak is good for two people. Feel like an American Indian explorer navigating the ocean with your kayak!
7. Cliff Jumping
Oh, my brother and I did this several times. On every island we visited, we immediately searched for a good cliff and then jumped or dived our way into the deep part of the sea.
Weâve been doing this on the river in our village. But this time, we tested our courage on seawater. It was exhilarating, indeed! If youâre an adrenaline junkie, donât miss out on this.
The most recommended site for cliff jumping is Marcos Island.
You can do this at either Governorâs Island (546 meters) for Php 250 per jump or at the Quezon Island (120 meters) for Php 100 meters per jump. Honestly, we were saving money so we had to skip this.
But if you have an extra, you should try this for an adrenaline-pumping experience.Â
9. Banana Boat
Another popular activity here is banana boating. You just have to pay Php 1500 per ride and that is good for 7 persons. Wouldnât it be fun riding on it with your family or friends? Just make sure you donât fall off.
10. Rappelling
Want to test your limits? Try rappelling on selected cliffs at Hundred Islands National Park. But donât worry. Youâll be safe as long as you follow the protocols. The fee for this is Php 50 per person.
11. Parasailing
Sounds new? Although itâs a bit costly, youâll surely love the adventure and the thrill that come with it. For a solo ride, the fee is Php 2000 while the fee for two persons is Php 3000.
12. Fishing
Rent for fishing rods and bait is Php 150 for a day tour and Php 250 for an overnight tour. Wouldnât it be another unique experience if you fish for your lunch/meal?Â
13. Jet Ski
Itâs also a costly activity, but if you have an extra, why not? Enjoy riding on a jet ski as you explore the wonders of the Hundred Islands National Park. For every 15 minutes, the rate is Php 1000 and Php 2000 for every 30 minutes.
14. Wall Climbing
There are not many tall trees to climb in Hundred Islands National Park. But it does have multiple cliffs or rock formations, which are ideal for that. The fee is Php 50 per person. Surely, youâll feel like a victor assaulting a challenging cliff.
15. Sunbathing
Ah, thereâs just nothing like it lying on the sandy beach as the waves caressed my feet and the sun warmed me that cool morning.
Oops, I donât actually do sunbathing but just exposed myself to the sun temporarily to get a dose of Vitamin D. Hello. I want to maintain my original skin color (hehehe).
16. See some wildlife
On every island, youâll find natural terrestrial and marine ecosystems. So expect to see wildlife species such as birds and even monitor lizards. We also visited a cave that hosts bats.
Encountering this wildlife deepened my appreciation of nature. Those are extras youâll see aside from the different fish species youâll find when you go swimming or snorkeling.
Best Islands to See in Hundred Islands
Although there are over 100 islands and islets in Hundred Islands National Park, less than 10 of these are open for tourism activities. This is a good thing, though, because it allows the preservation of the rich biodiversity of the park.Â
Take note. Hundred Islands National Park is rich in both terrestrial and marine species. That makes it a biodiversity hotspot, and properly implementing tourism can boost conservation.
Here are some of the best islands to see in Hundred Islands National Park. Take note. There is limited access to some of these.Â
1. Governorâs Island/Virgin Island
Governorâs Island is typically the first stop on any boat tour. It is among the biggest islands with a view deck atop of it. From here, youâll get a birdâs eye view of the surrounding islets and islands.
This is also the starting point of a zip line that leads to Virgin Island. The Governorâs Island is also connected with the Virgin Island via a floating bridge. At the end of the later, one can find a small cave containing a statue of a mermaid.Â
2. Braganza Island
If you prefer a less touristy spot, you should visit Braganza Island. Not every boatman does a stopover here but you can request yours if you want some time of solitude. It has a view deck sitting on a lower elevation.
Thereâs not much to see here though youâll experience tranquility. It has a small stretch of powdery beach where you can relax and relish the song of the waves.
3. Coral Garden
Ah, this is my favorite. Weâve spent quite a long time here with my siblings just exploring the underneath of the sea. Although weâve seen evident bleaching of the corals, it was still a memorable experience.
For the first time, I got to see coral reefs and colorful fishes lurking among them. This is also where we saw the endangered giant clams.
4. Old Scout Island
Old Scout Island is near the Coral Garden, and its surrounding waters are also ideal for snorkeling. Enjoy strolling on its little beach.
Here, youâll find a rock formation resembling a human face, giving it quite a horror feature. But donât worry, itâs one relaxing experience when you visit Old Scout Island.
5. Quezon Island
Quezon Island was the most crowded part of Hundred Islands National Park when we visited. Itâs no surprise though because it has quite a long stretch of creamy-white beach.
The waters are also shallow and the waves are calmer here. There are three islets composing Quezon Island. It is the ideal spot for a variety of activities such as banana boat and jet-skiing.
It is named as such in recognition of the late Philippine president Manuel L. Quezon.Â
6. Childrenâs Island
The Childrenâs Island also has shallow waters, making it ideal for a family getaway, especially if you have children. That is why it also gets crowded like Quezon Island. If youâre planning for an overnight, theyâve got tents for rent and picnic tables here.
7. Bat Island
Although youâre not allowed to step on the island, you can see it when you hop to the other islands. From a distance, youâll glimpse giant bats hanging on trees.
There are literally millions of them living on this island, making it an important ecological sanctuary. Itâs good that tourism activities are prohibited here to ensure that the bats thrive sustainably.Â
8. Cathedral Island
Tourists are also not allowed to come here, although you can see it when youâre transferring to other islands. From a distance, you can see a huge triangular-shaped crack in the middle of the island.
Inside, there is a grotto with the statue of the Virgin Mary. You can pray if you pass by it.
10. Pilgrimage Island
As a devout Catholic, visiting Pilgrimage Island was a surreal experience. Itâs a new attraction in the Hundred Islands National Park. Atop it, one finds a tall statue of Jesus Christ, measuring 56 feet high.
Itâs a recognizable landmark when hopping from one island to the other. To reach the statue, youâll pass by several crosses where you can pray at each stage.
If youâre a non-Catholic, though, you can still visit the island to enjoy the lush sceneries and the tranquility of it.Â
Other islands are slowly being developed for tourism, aside from what we mentioned above. Hopefully, the local authorities do so without causing major impacts to the natural environment.
The islands are critical sanctuaries for countless species at risk of extinction. Therefore, sustainable tourism should be the drive.Â
During our visit, we only visited 6 of the islands for half a day. We could have visited more since we still have the entire afternoon, but we were already tired, so we opted to go back.
But I tell you, those islands we visited were enough to make me consider our journey to Hundred Islands National Park as one of the best.Â
Where to Stay in Hundred Islands?
For an overnight stay, you can choose any of the following, depending on your allocated time and budget.

- Mini Pavillion â Php 500 (Day tour), Php 1000 (Overnight)
Aside from spending the night inside the Hundred Islands National Park, you can choose from the various transients and hotels near Lucap Wharf or within Alaminos City.Â
Instead of camping, we decided to stay on a transient near Lucap Wharf since we hoped to catch an early bus to Baguio the following morning.
We spentPhp 2000 for the night. I talked with the staff, and she mentioned that other transients also offer similar prices. Thatâs reasonable enough for me as the room where we stayed had basic amenities, including a shower and beds.Â
Some transients also have tricycles to bring customers to the Lucap Wharf or even to the bus stations in Alaminos City.
Most transients here donât have nearby restaurants or stores. So make sure to bring food from Lucap Wharf or Alaminos City.

Patar beach, though it has mocha-colored sands, is often called âBoracay of the Northâ by the locals and is truly one of the leading beach destinations in the town of Bolinao. Other Pangasinan Tourist Spots to enjoy in the town are different caves like Enchanted Cave, Cindyâs Cave and Wonderful Cave, and the Cape Bolinao Lighthouse that has a deck where you can have a majestic view of the sea.
St. James the Great Parish Church, (Â Pangasinan Tourist Spot + Hotels ) by Elmer B. Domingo
Aside from the mentioned islands, Pangasinan is also the home for Our Lady of Manaoag / Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary. On this âPilgrims Center of the Northâ, people believed in the legend dated back in 1601 that a farmer once saw an apparition of the Virgin Mary carrying the Child Jesus on her left arm and a rosary on her right. The farmer has been told by Virgin Mary on where she wanted a church to be built, and then the building of the church started. The statue of Our Lady of Manaoag is ivory-made Virgin Mary that is carrying the Child Jesus. This statue was brought from Spain to the Philippines in the early 17 th  century. At present times, the shrine is one of the most visited Churches in the whole country.
Moreover, after visiting the most popular places in the province, visitors shall never forget to try the authentic flavors of Pangasinense cuisine. Puto Calasiao is one of the most sell foods in the streets and markets. Puto (steamed rice cake) here in Pangasinan is different from the Puto on other parts of the country as it gives you the softest kind and different flavors like ube, pandan, cheese, banana, and strawberry. On the other hand, is called the âBangus capital of the Philippines,â Pangasinan can give you the most delicious Bangus sisig and kinilaw na Bangus.

Tourist Spots to visit in Pangasinan
Table of Contents
P angasinan is a vast province. Itâs the largest province of Region 1, after all, in terms of population and land area. The tourism industry in Pangasinan is just barely taking off, and will hopefully become more popular as domestic travel is promoted in a post-COVID-19 world.
When we talk about tourism in Pangasinan, we often think of its famous landmarks: The Our Lady of Manaoag Minor Basilica , the white sand of Patar Beach , and the Hundred Islands for camping and water sports. These landmarks have been mentioned in every tourism article of Pangasinan and are the very words of a traveler who went to Pangasinan.
However, Pangasinan is much more than these three locations. It is vast and wide and offers a variety of tourist attractions that are yet to be heard by the public.
This article is a list of the hidden tourist attractions in the province that may hopefully emerge from hiding in a domestic-traveling post-pandemic new decade.
Daang Kalikasan
Itâs only natural that Daang Kalikasan is not yet famous for tourists, considering the fact that it was only completed and opened to the public last January of this year.
Daang Kalikasan eventually took off for inter-province tourism, however. Of course, thatâs not impossible since this nature preserve that stretches far and wide into the horizons and mountains offers a scenic and relaxing view for tourists.
As of now, however, there is not much to do at Daang Kalikasan. The only activity to be done is to drive around in a motorcycle/open vehicle, and stop by to take pictures.
It will certainly be for the benefit of the industry to put up tourist activities, such as vehicle renting or a strip of eatery so that tourists will be given more of a reason to visit,
Mt. Zion Pilgrim Mountain
Mt. Zion is a pilgrimage mountain located in the quiet town of Bugallon. It houses a replica of the Christ the Redeemer statue, like the one in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil at its peak. Along the way, are Stations of the Cross for praying and repentance during the Lenten Season.
There are other religious statues, like that of the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ. There are also some facilities as well, such as a retreat house and other religious establishments.
Mt. Zion is not meant to be a tourist attraction, and is, therefore, not developed to be one. Personally, Iâd like Mt. Zion to remain as it is, with only the addition of few necessities such as proper comfort rooms and a resting area.
Lingayen Baywalk
The Lingayen Baywalk is a government project that cemented a stretch of the Lingayen Gulf. It is so long that it reaches to the nearby town of Binmaleyâs own beach as well./
While certainly a popular place to unwind and relax with the family, the Lingayen Baywalk isnât talked about as much when it comes to other tourists from outside provinces.
Itâs certainly worth a visit, as it offers a time to enjoy the beach and paddle across the waters. The sun is strong at noon, but you can witness a beautiful, picturesque sunset just before 6PM in the evening.
There are occasional places to visit nearby, such as the yearly Pangasinan Trade Fair and Expo. The town concert is held nearby, too. But Capitol and the Veterans Park are always free to be visited all-year round.
I think it would be far more beneficial than disadvantageous to develop Lingayen Baywalk to be geared more to tourists. Maybe reinforce the bike rental systems and that of 4×4 vehicles. The street food strip could also benefit if it was made permanent and organized.
There is a secret area of the Lingayen Baywalk that I, and a couple of my local friends, have discovered. It is on the farthest end of the baywalk, where it starts. The pavement is low, and if you lower your foot, it will reach the waters. I love coming there at sunrise or sunset, where the sun reflects off the shallow waters.
Those were the hidden tourist destinations in Pangasinan that are yet to become tourism landmarks. It certainly will be a great opportunity to visit these locations before they are expected to gain popularity, as a predicted effect of post-pandemic travels.
