Atlantic City Cruises was chosen Best of the Press 2014 - 2022 Gold Medal, Boat Ride.

Went here for the dolphin watch. It was AMAZING. The staff was super friendly and no matter where you stood you had a front row. You not only learn a lot about dolphins, but you learn about Atlantic City as well. First mate John was the best. Highly recommended without a doubt.

ABSOLUTELY recommend the Dolphin Watch (1pm-3pm) on Atlantic City Cruises. The dolphin come really close to the boat and even ride the wake waves (see picture). Captain and crew are professional and work hard to be sure everyone gets a good view. Informative, fun, and a great way to spend a summer afternoon. Don't miss the boat!

Maxine Patroni

Our first time to Atlantic city, so of course, you see this happy hour sunset cruise and you just have to do it. And yes, yes you have to. Not only was the staff super friendly and welcoming the whole time, it was a very calming and wonderful boat ride. So much beauty to take in! Even saw dolphins, total bonus! Big thanks to you folks!

Our Bachelorette Party group had an amazing experience with AC Cruises. Our captain Jeff was accommodating and easy to work with for our private group of 20. The cruise included a full open bar, snacks, clean bathrooms, and an AUX with speakers. It was spacious with indoor and outdoor seating in case anyone got chilly (bring hair ties and sweaters!) We had a blast and the 2 hour time frame was not too long, but not too short either. Would 100% recommend to anyone with a big group looking for an unforgettable experience for a great price. Thank you, Jeff!

his was our second time taking the tour, its a great value for an hour of beautiful views of the Atlantic City coastline. Our kids loved the boat and the views, the parents enjoyed the great cocktails in the cash bar (delicious and affordable). If you are in the AC area it is a great family activity, the crew is very courteous and the captain and owner is very informative pointing out all the details and history of the hotels/casinos, beaches and landmarks.

Milton Valencia

Amazing dolphin watching tour. It was a great way to relax and enjoy a few hours. The Captain and his two First Mates really work hard to spot dolphins and to make sure everyone has a chance to see them.

Cathy lopez

Captain was courteous and held the board for me and my grandmother. The ride was nice although personally didn't go as far down the boardwalk as I would have liked. Overall, I highly recommend.

We had an absolute blast. The Captain and his crew know where to go to see dolphins and are knowledgeable about the position you will see. We saw 20-50 dolphins the day we went. The Captain can get the dolphins to play in the boat wake. I have some amazing videos and my son has a great time.

Tabitha Geiger

I have been on multiple dolphin cruises but never have I left with as much knowledge and the view of dolphins as I did on this cruise. It was a bravo watch. I would recommend this dolphin watch to everyone that can go on it. You won't regret. Price is a little pricey compared to others I been on but I never seen as many dolphins like I did on this cruise.

Visited here a few months ago, we purchased tickets online and arrived 10 minutes early which was not enough time to claim outside seating which goes fast. We had standing room only which was great for us as well. We had a great time dauphin watching. The view was great. This is a great day outing for families, children, event for a day date! Thoroughly enjoyed myself . Definitely a must do in A.C.!

Been a long time cruiser with this company. We cruise at least once every summer. Decided to try the happy hour cruise this evening and it was a disaster! The attached is a photo of the group that made it absolutely miserable for us......smoking, cursing, inappropriate, etc. The crew had to come out numerous times, but nothing was corrected as in my opinion, the crew was not stern enough.

atlantic city happy hour cruise

I took a group of 10 ladies out for a bachelorette party on the 6PM Happy Hour cruise and LOVED IT. I was really nervous booking the tickets because I read lots of reviews and couldn't tell if the it was going to be the right vibe for a Saturday night. But it was everything we could've hoped for! There was a DJ on the second floor who was great at taking requests and honoring the bachelorette(s) (On our boat alone, there were 3 bachelorette parties and 1 bachelor party haha!). There is definitely something for everyone here. The overall clientele on a Saturday evening seemed on the younger side which was perfect for us, but there was also some variety. The great thing is there is outdoor space on both floors where music wasn't so loud and you could focus on the sunset. Let's talk bar! It is located in a smaller room on the first floor, but they seemed to really know what they were doing with navigating the flow. People came in a door by the front of the boat, lined up to the bar, and exited through the back door. They only give one drink per person at a time, encouraging you to leave to drink it before returning for another. When our group walked up, we immediately asked for tequila shots but the bartender advised us that with the initial rush it was better to get drinks up front and come back later for shots. He was RIGHT, and went right ahead to make us all a drink! Not sure what the drink was called but it had Malibu, cranberry, and pineapple juice. We all loved it! About half of us paid for the "open bar" and the other half didn't. In the end, they never checked our wrist bands. My guess is this is because it was a busy weekend, and it might be different on a weekday. No complaints from us, and we all enjoyed the drinks more than we thought we would! Worth the money. Great staff. Wonderful memories!

The view!

Went on an afternoon Dolphin Watching Cruise. We had a beautiful day and a wonderful time. Our Captain spotted dolphins within minutes of setting sail and turned the boat several times so that all guests could catch a glimpse. We navigated the bay for almost 40 minutes and saw several dolphins which made for awesome pics and video. The Captain kept guests entertained throughout with dolphin and AC facts. AC hosts an annual fishing tournament that draws a lot of celebrities so we made a quick detour see Michael Jordan's fishing boat (no MJ though). It was a short Uber from our hotel on the boardwalk but there is plenty of parking should you choose to drive. The boat is open seating and there was already a pretty long line waiting to board when we arrived 30 minutes early. Guests were all ages and many brought children. Upper deck seating is covered as is most of the bench seating along the lower level. You can also sit inside while still having a nice view out of the windows. There is a snack bar onboard that serves alcohol, water, pop, and snack size bags of pretzels or potato chips. Single stall restrooms are on the first level of the boat. Tips are encouraged for the snack bar attendant and the Captain makes an announcement prior to docking to encourage tips to the crew. We did return to the dock about 20 minutes earlier than anticipated. I noticed this concern on some other Yelps so just a heads up that this is fairly common. I'd recommend this cruise to anyone looking for something out of the ordinary while in AC!

The cruise was excellent. We saw many dolphins and the tour guide was very informative. We were very lucky to have awesome weather.

Highly recommend the 6pm Happy Hour Cruise! Beautiful ride exploring the channels of Brigantine. We did the unlimited drink package but it was limited and specialty drinks were unavailable. The woman bartender seemed new and did not know how to make all of the drinks. Speciality drinks were $10 each without the wristband. It might have been more cost efficient to do that as the cups were much bigger. Steps to second floor are steep so do not recommend taking the elderly or those unsteady on their feet. Bathroom on board was larger than expected but could use paper towels or a hand dryer.

Took all 7 grandchildren and their parents and they loved it! Saw a lot of dolphins

Didn't see any whales but still a fine experience. Had snacks and binoculars on board.

I have been to AC a thousand times, and never once did the AC cruise. Took my mom on it. It was nice and peaceful and great to see all the beach houses. We did the happy hour time slot but we didn't have any drinks. From hearing the other passengers the drinks were well made and worth the price. If you are looking for something to do other than gambling, take a cruise ride.

Bachelorette Happy Hour Cruise

We chose Atlantic City Cruises to do the happy hour cruise for my cousin's bachelorette weekend to kick off our night on the town. This cruise was absolutely AMAZING! We did the cruise and cocktails package for $40 which included open bar for the whole hour of cruising. Captain Jeff was great and kept the jams pumping. He even took special requests from our group! The bartenders on the lower level were great and even came upstairs to bring us refills. We'll definitely be doing this cruise again when we return to AC.

My wife and I did the Dolphin Cruise over the weekend. It was pretty much a last minute decision for something to do without getting overheated in 100 degree weather. Where most other places we looked into only did a 90 minute trip, Atlantic City Cruises does a 2 hour trip and the captain was very knowledgeable. We were lucky enough to get about a 2 and a half hour trip because the dolphins were finally located just before we had to head back to port. One major plus is that if no dolphins are spotted, you will get a guaranteed voucher for a future trip. Even if we didn't see the dolphins, it was worth it for an enjoyable, cool, and relaxing cruise on what would be a brutally hot day anywhere else outside.

I thoroughly enjoyed taking the Dolphin Watching Adventure from Atlantic City Cruises. It consisted of a 2+ hour boat ride along the coastline near Atlantic City. The captain did an excellent job explaining where the dolphins would most likely by found. And, in between dolphin sightings, he provided some great insights into the history of Atlantic City and the surroundings areas. On our tour, we saw four dolphins, some pelicans and many sting rays. The boat was clean and provided plenty of shady areas out of the sun. This was an excellent way to spend a few hours, viewing Atlantic City from the water, getting out of the summer heat, and seeing some of the wildlife that inhabitants the New Jersey coast.

We had a great experience on a lovely day. The captain was very informative and told us facts about the area as we searched for dolphins. He was very determined to find some and we did, even after we thought it wasn't going to happen. Even though we've seen them dozens of times in aquariums, etc., it's thrilling to see them frolicking beside the boat in the wild. The ship was clean and well-maintained. Fun for all!

We've been on the dolphin cruise three times, and each time has been a very enjoyable experience. Our first trip, which must have been 4-5 years ago, was an amazing experience. On a blue sky, sunny day, we saw plenty of dolphins, and had a great time. We were so pleased with the trip that when we came back to Atlantic City with some other family members two years later, we decided to take them along. The next time, though, was an overcast day and rougher water. We did not see any dolphins, but we did enjoy the boat ride around Atlantic City. The boat ride alone is enough to be an enjoyable ride. As a bonus, we received free tickets to come back that never expired so we could see dolphins. If you don't see dolphins on the cruise, you will get tickets to go again, which we took advantage of. Recently, we went for a third time on a day similar to the one on the first trip. It was a very nice boat ride, and we thought we might get free tickets again since we hadn't seen any dolphins yet. Luckily, one of the crew members found a pod of dolphins and we stayed around them for about 15 minutes. My daughter got enough pictures and video to last her a lifetime and we had a great experience, for the third time. Overall, this is a trip worth taking. Even if you don't see dolphins, you get a boat ride and free tickets for another trip. Don't miss it.

Saw the boat on the water for years, and finally took a happy hour cruise and it was exactly that. One hour taking in the sights of Atlantic City from the water, with a bar and DJ. Saw Dolphins close up and the city skyline from the Ocean and it was a very happy hour so I would take others in the future because it was much better than I expected!

Boat Tours New Jersey | Tickets for Sightseeing Rides in NJ

Boat rides in NJ are in abundance, and they come in all shapes and sizes. With over 130 miles of Atlantic coastline, you’ll be absolutely spoiled for choice. Whether you are hoping to find a boat cruise in New Jersey or a dolphin-watching boat trip, there’s an option for you.

Because New Jersey is so big, there are more than just a few places to take a boat trip. But the most popular places to get in the water are Cape May and Atlantic City. I particularly enjoyed Cape May because of the opportunity to see dolphins, but that’s not the only attraction in store for you if you take one of the New Jersey sightseeing cruises.

Boat Rides New Jersey: What To Expect

A boat ride in New Jersey is ab absolute treat. You can expect to experience a range of boat trips from sunset dinner cruises to dolphin watching boat trips in New Jersey. If you’re ready to escape the hustle and bustle of life on land, then heading out on the water is the best way to spend your time (although I may be a little biased.)

I took a bunch of boat trips in NJ and must admit that my favorite took place in Cape May. But the trips to Atlantic City also have a lot to offer. They are ideal for locals located in the area that don’t want to travel too far.

dolphins in the water

NJ Boat Rides Prices & Availability

You can expect to pay between $25 and $96 for boat rides in NJ. This will depend on how long the boat ride NJ is, and what’s included. Some of the tours I have picked out as the best boat tours in New Jersey even come with dinner or breakfast included.

All these things should be taken into consideration when deciding whether or not the price is worth it for each particular experience. Luckily, there are many options on this list that perfect for anyone who is on a budget, so don’t feel that you need to spend hundreds of dollars to have a great experience on the water.

When should you book New Jersey boat rides?

You’ll want to take NJ boat tours when the weather is at its best. This is generally between May and June, as well as in September and October. In terms of the time of day, you’ll get the best sights in the early morning and in the evening. This also gives you a chance to catch either a sunrise or a sunset – giving you the chance to witness spectacular views as the sky transforms in hues of oranges, purples, and pinks.

If you go on one of the New Jersey boat tours during the colder months, be sure to take a warm waterproof jacket with you as you don’t want to get stuck on a boat in a t-shirt. Depending on the boat, you might also encounter water lapping over the side of the boat. If that is a possibility, be sure to wear wellingtons or waterproof boots .

Best Boat Trip NJ Options

Many of the NJ sightseeing cruises offer very similar experiences. But they each offer their own unique flair. I have my own personal favorites, but all the boat trips on this list were a lovely experience and definitely worth the time.

Keep reading to find out some of my favorite boat tours in New Jersey , and find out which would suit your tastes the best.

Cape May: Jersey Shore Whale and Dolphin Watching Cruise

whale tale

This dolphin and whale watching cruise is one that provides great sights with plenty of animal activity in the water. You’ll leave from the picturesque Delaware Bay, heading straight out into the Atlantic Ocean that is just teeming with life.

The 3-hour guided tour takes you along the coastline, allowing you to enjoy views of the Victorian buildings located along the waterfront, as well as the sound, smells, and sights of the ocean. Your knowledgeable guide will not only teach you about the local marine wildlife, but they will educate you about the local Cape May area as well.

While the tour may seem like a long time to be out on the ocean, the time really does fly by. It gives you plenty of opportunities to spot marine wildlife, which is the main aim of the cruise. You’ll also be able to enjoy refreshments and a snack on deck in case you feel like a bite to eat during the boat trip.

My favorite part of this trip:

was seeing the dolphins gracefully dance across the water. No matter how many times you witness this sight, it always offers something truly special.

Cape May: Cape May Island Sunset Cruise & Dolphin Watching

dolphin-fins

This is another tour located in Cape May, also leaving from Delaware Bay. But it provides a completely different experience. The sunset cruise tour gets going just before sunset and offers you two hours of unspoiled beauty out on the open ocean.

There is simply nothing better than watching a sunset from the boat while bobbing up and down on the water. While you should keep your eyes peeled for dolphins, they do make appearances less likely during this time of the day, so sightings, while still common, are less frequent than on the other tours.

The good news is that pizza and hot dogs are served on board, along with your choice of refreshing beverage. You can also purchase wine and beer onboard, so if you are up for a little party, that is definitely possible.

was sitting onboard while eating delicious pizza and watching the sky turns a myriad of hues as the sunset. It’s moments like this that I wouldn’t change for the world. Even if you aren’t lucky enough to see dolphins on your tour, it’s still worth every cent.

Atlantic City: Evening Happy Hour Ocean Cruise

new jersey boat

If you’re looking for an experience on the water that’s a little shorter than the previously mentioned tours, then this Atlantic City happy hour cruise might be just up your alley. You’ll get a 1-hour tour around the bay to take in all of the best Atlantic City sights from the perspective of the water.

The boat leaves the harbor as the sun is setting, allowing you to enjoy the sunset as well as get a taste of nighttime on the water. Being a happy hour cruise, you can expect nothing less than for the drinks to be flowing throughout your time aboard the cruise.

The cruise is a great way to see the lights of Atlantic City from afar, and it acts as a great way to start your night out on the town. It’s a great way to enjoy a couple of cocktails to get your night started.

My favorite part of the trip:

was when the sun had set and the city lights sparkled on the horizon. It really set the mood for an evening of cocktails.

Atlantic City: Morning or Afternoon Skyline Ocean Cruise

lunch on a boat

While Atlantic City boat tours are wonderful during the nighttime, if you are hoping to do some good old-fashioned sightseeing, then daytime is definitely a more appropriate time to hit the water.

You’ll get the chance to enjoy some of Atlantic City’s most iconic sights from the perspective of the water, including Steel Pier, the Absecon Lighthouse, and the boardwalk. During the 1-hour cruise, your knowledgeable guide will teach you about the history of the area as you pass each of the city’s most famed attractions.

If you are ready to appreciate the epic casino skyline along with panoramic views of the surrounding Atlantic Ocean, then this tour comes highly recommended.

was the fantastic photo opportunities that this trip presents. I enjoyed getting to see angles of Atlantic City that I had never seen before on land.

New Jersey Lunch Cruise

sunset on the water

This boat trip sets sail from Weehawken, New Jersey, but offers you views over the famed New York City skyline. And if that’s not something that impresses you then I’m not sure that anything will.

The 2-hour cruise gives you the opportunity to enjoy some of the city’s most famous landmarks, including the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, and Brooklyn Bridge. You’ll also get the chance to sail peacefully down the Hudson River – a real dream come true for many.

During the cruise, you’ll also be treated to a delicious lunch, so you will kill two birds with one stone. Although alcoholic beverages are not included in your buffet meal aboard the boat, they can be bought when the bar opens.

was seeing the New York City skyline from the perspective of the water. It never fails to be absolutely breathtaking.

Other Activities in New Jersey

While boat trips are a great way to experience NJ, there is a myriad of other really great activities on offer. These are a couple of other things worth getting up to in the area while you are exploring the NJ area.

  • Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island: Ticket Options with Ferry
  • American Dream: Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park Ticket
  • From New Jersey: NYC City Lights Helicopter Tour at Night

Wrapping Up Boat Ride in New Jersey

If you are in the New Jersey area and want to head out on the water, why not indulge yourself with one of the private boat rides in NJ. Pull on your favorite pair of welly’s, zip-up that warm coat and throw your favorite adventure camera in your bag.

The New Jersey waters are just waiting to be explored. So don’t miss a beat, I couldn’t recommend these shoreline adventures more highly!
