Our guide lele is a wealth of information, Lele is very professional and very attentive to our needs. Lele is amazing. Lele got everything spot on. It probably helps that Guilin is a brilliant place to visit so Lele has great material to work with but that doesn't take anything away from how much Lele helped make it a great trip.

Our guide for Beijing was super knowledgeable and experienced and able to help us to achieve as much as we wanted within the time given. We had a fun time guided by him as he is also super humorous and you can see how he interacts with the vendors and people whom he comes by. Thank you for a very enjoyable time in Beijing and accommodating to all our needs!

Our China Highlight guide. Michael, was attentive, thoughtful and knowledgeable. He narrated many interesting historical events about Chengdu while touring around the city and having afternoon tea with us. He was thoughtful to provide us with snacks during long hikes at Leshan or walks around the city.

She was very flexible and added extra time when we needed it and we felt extremely well taken care of. She also chose the best restaurants for us,

Our tour guide Helen, was excellent, she was very kind, professional and passionate for her work and she also loves Pandas! She will take you to take the best panda photos and to know more about Chengdu city. Our tour was great, she took us to all our destinations always with the best spots: Temples, pagodas, famous streets, theaters, pandas...you name it! Everything was great.

He picked up our pre-booked boat/other excursions tickets so we were able to avoid all the long lines and chaos. He is knowledgeable of the places we visited, courteous, fun to travel with and well-versed in Chinese classics.

Tom is the guide that will take you to where no other guide will. We pushed for the experience and Tom and the team delivered more than what we could have ever asked for. His English speaking ability and his Chinese history knowledge is second to none.

Upon arrival, tour guide and driver of SVietnam Travel will welcome you. Tour briefing and transfer to your hotel. In the late afternoon, the guide will take you on a culinary adventure, sampling street food in the Old Quarter. It’s a great opportunity to try all those weird and wonderful foods you see but just aren’t sure what they are! Start your Hanoi Street “Eats Tour” at Bia Hoi corner to try the local brew, a draft beer that traces its roots to Eastern Europe.

Enjoy breakfast at hotel then start a guided city tour of Hanoi. Having celebrated its 1000- year anniversary in 2010, the city has a rich and fascinating history. Your city tour will take you to the main attractions of Hanoi, including Ho Chi Minh complex (Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum and stilt house); the Presidential Palace, the nearby One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature, West lake, Tran Quoc pagoda, Quan Thanh temple and of the city’s museum (History Museum or Ethnology Museum). Late afternoon, enjoy Water puppet show and cyclo visiting the Old Quarter of Hanoi.

At around 7.30 am, your driver will pick you up for the journey to Halong Bay and arrive at around midday to board a traditional junk for an overnight cruise. Halong Bay is widely considered to be one of the natural wonders of the world. Thousands of towering pillars of sea and wind-carved limestone karst make the bay an unforgettable sight. After lunch, explore some of the huge limestone caves dotted around the bay and visit a floating fishing village. Then the captain will find a secluded spot where you can swim, soak up the sun on the top deck, or try your hand at kayaking. In the evening enjoy a seafood feast for dinner.

Enjoy an early morning swim (during the summer), followed by breakfast as you cruise through more spectacular scenery. The cruise arrives at the harbor by noon. The driver will pick you up and then transfer directly to the airport for flight to Hue. Upon arrival in Hue, you will be transferred to your hotel. Check in and free time.

Being the ancient capital, Hue is surrounded with ancient tombs of the past emperors, and with Orient style – those tombs almost located near the bank of Hue’s river – Perfume river. In the morning, take boat trip along the scenic Perfume River for sightseeing and next stop will be the famous Thien Mu pagoda and Ming Mang Emperor’s mausoleum.

Afternoon, continue to visit the Citadel, containing the Imperial City, the Forbidden Purple City and the Emperor’s private residence. The Imperial City, created in the 19th century and modeled on the Forbidden City in Beijing. You also visit the vibrant Dong Ba market.

After breakfast, leave Hue for Hoi An, crossing Hai Van Pass where you will have magnificent view of the sea. Stop at Lang Co to have break. Visit the fascinating Marble Mountain en route to charming Hoi An. Check in hotel and free time.

This morning, you will join in a cooking class at Red Bridge Cooking School. Visit Hoi An’s colourful market, and experience the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of this busy market. You will have the opportunity to interact with the local sellers and learn about all the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later.

After that, board the Red Bridge boat for a leisurely cruise (25 minutes) along the Hoi An River to the Red Bridge Cooking School. On arrival, you explore the cooking school’s herb and vegetable garden, before learning about some of Hoi An’s and Vietnam’s well-known dishes. The cooking lesson runs for about 2 hours – each dish is first demonstrated by the Red Bridge chef’s, before you prepare the same dish youself. Included in the class is a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carving (plate decoration). After the lesson, you can enjoy what you have cooked.

In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour of the ancient town, including the 200 year-old Tan Ky house, Phuc Kien Pagoda, the Assembly Hall, the former merchants’ houses, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge. Free time for shopping and tailor made suits.

You have free time in the morning in Hoi An. After check out hotel, you will be transferred to the airport for the late flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, pick up and transfer to your hotel. Check in and free time.

Following the breakfast at your hotel, you have a full day to explore the wondrous ancient ruins with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, which is famous for its series of colossal human faces carved in stone, the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the largest as well as the most complete temple of Angkor Wat. This architectural masterpiece was constructed in the 12th century and covers an area of about 210 hectares. You stroll around this massive edifice, seeing the many galleries with columns, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds full of water reflecting the towering temple.

This morning you visit the smallest, but magnificent, Banteay Srei built in the 10th Century and dedicated to Shiva. The temple was the birthplace of Khmer classical style architecture and the bas-relief work is the best example of Khmer classical art remaining. The pink sandstone structure bears a series of striking and beautiful sculptures, lintels, pediments and friezes. Khmers say the temple must have been carved by women for the details are too fine for the hands of a man. Continue the trip with a visit to the Banteay Samre Temple adorned with impressive reliefs depicting scenes of Vishnu as well as Krishna legends.

In ther afternoon, you have chance to visit the ancient Khmer civilization site of Hariharalaya which flourished in the late 9th and early 10th centuries. These are the earliest temples in the Angkor area and are referred to the Rolous group (Lo Lei, Preah Koh, and Bakhong Temples). On the way back to Siem Reap, you will visit Kompong Phluk – a floating village on Tonle Sap lake, the “Great lake” of Cambodia. With traditional wooden boat, you pass by floating villages with friendly children in small boats and fishermen at work. The village moves with the water level and during wet season houses are anchored around an island pagoda.

You have free time in Siem Reap today. After check out hotel, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival in Luang Prabang, pick up and transfer to your hotel. Check in and free time.

This morning, you will visit the impressive stupa of WatVisoun, the shrine of WatAham. You continue to explore LuangPrabang with the temple of WatXieng Thong, a magnificent piece of architecture, which nestles at the meeting of the Mekong and the Nam Khan River. The temple structures are decorated in various ways with gilded stuccoes as well as doorways and the main sim has a marvelous ‘tree life’ mosaic pattern on an outer wall.

In the afternoon, board a cruise upstream on the Mekong river, which also gives us a beautiful view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the mysterious of Pak Ou Caves. It is famous for thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes. Along the way, you stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the distillation of local rice wine. It used to be more famous for the big jars it is stored in, which they’ve been making there for over 2000 years. On the way back, you have chance to enjoy sunset on Nam Khan river.

An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms (ubiquitous sticky rice) from the faithful residents. This tradition is very unique in Laos, being the only Buddhist nation still preserving the procession. You will visit the morning Phosi Market where you will see such diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings.

Today set off your exploration with a visit to the Royal Palace also known as the National Museum to learn more about the long-lasting history and culture of the region. You also visit Wat Mai, a beautiful temple located nearby Royal Palace and built in the 18th century. It is the largest and most richly decorated of the temples in Luang Prabang.

Afterwards, you head to Kuang Sy Falls a stunning turquoise waterfall. On the way, you will pass through rice fields and beautiful small villages dotted along country road. Make a stop at some of the villages. Take a fresh swim to refresh yourself in many basins. The balance of day is free at leisure.

After check out hotel, the driver will pick you up and then transfer to the airport for your departure flight. End of the trip. Thank you for using our service.

Detailed itinerary, day 1: ho chi minh city (hcm city) – arrival.

Xin Chao! Welcome to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam.

Your private guide and driver will be waiting for you and your family at HCM City’s Tan Son Nhat airport with a sign bearing your name and will transport you directly to your hotel.

You will have time to unwind and acclimate to the speed of Ho Chi Minh City following check-in.

Please note: Your travel documents contain a Visa-on-Arrival letter (unless otherwise arranged). Please bring this item in your carry-on baggage. You must produce your Visa-on-Arrival letter to Customs when entering the country.

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnel

After breakfast, you will be greeted by your guide and driven to Cu Chi , a small village located northwest of Ho Chi Minh City known for its network of subterranean tunnels that served as a safe haven and successful infiltration route for the Viet Cong during the closing stages of the Vietnam War.

Upon arrival, you will view a brief instructional movie before visiting the tunnels, the most renowned battlegrounds of the period. It is thought that the concealed network of Viet Cong tunnels spanned "hundreds of miles" in total length and contained living quarters, storage areas, temporary hospitals, kitchens, etc. Although the system was initially somewhat narrow, some sections have been enlarged for tourists, and you have the option to explore them.

Please note that these tunnels will be hot and claustrophobic, so if you want to watch from above ground, that is an option.

Cassava, the staple diet of the Viet Cong soldiers, is served alongside a tart tea. After exploring the Cu Chi Tunnels, return to the city with lunch at the local restaurant on way.

Spend the remainder of the day touring Ho Chi Minh City's major attractions. The Notre Dame Cathedral, the ornate City Hall (Hotel De Ville), the old Opera House, the historic Rex Hotel, the Central Post Office , renowned for its architecture, and Ben Thanh Market , where vendors display a vast array of goods and handicrafts, appealing to every taste, are particularly recommended.

Later, visit the Reunification Palace and the War Remnants Museum for a somber and enlightening look at Vietnam's military history and violent past.

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh

Meal: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta

After breakfast, your guide and driver will transport you to  Ben Tre Town in the Mekong Delta, which is renowned for its large rice fields, numerous canals, and magnificent sceneries, along picturesque rural roads. This region, known as the "rice bowl" of Vietnam, provides the majority of the country's fruit, rice, sugar cane, and coconuts.

After a two-hour journey through verdant farmland, you will arrive in Ben Tre, where you will go on a motorized boat tour through  the coconut forest's small channels. During the boat voyage, you will stop at local cottage enterprises to observe how bricks and sleeping mats are woven by hand. Discover the craft that has been passed down through the centuries.

Take a stroll through the village lanes , stopping at local homes to sample fresh fruits and honey tea while hearing a  Tai Tu music performance . Continue to another workshop where coconut candies and a variety of coconut husk and fiber products are manufactured by hand.

Take a small sampan through palm-fringed back canals, sailing calmly over secluded rivers surrounded by a vast array of tropical vegetation. The tranquil, rural location is a refreshing and therapeutic escape from the frantic bustle of HCM City, which appears to be in the distance.

After completing the sightseeing trip, your guide will take you to a riverbank restaurant for lunch featuring regional specialties, before returning you to the pier and transporting you back to Ho Chi Minh City.

This evening, you are free to visit the night market to sample authentic local cuisine or simply relax at the hotel.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch

Day 4: Ho Chi Minh City – Hoi An Walking & Street Food Tour

Elephants found a new home here in Laos.

The highlight is an elephant ride through a beautiful landscape with jungle-covered mountains in the background.

Day 18: Siem Reap – Full day Angkor Temple tour

Today, with the assistance of your guide and driver, you will spend an entire day touring the 400-square-kilometer Angkor Archaeological Park, which includes forested areas. The park features the beautiful ruins of five Khmer capitals from the ninth to the fifteenth century.

Avoid the crowds by beginning your day with a visit to the 13th-century Ta Prohm , a hauntingly beautiful temple where the roots of giant banyans and strangler figs entwine much of the stonework, creating scenes that have changed little since the French explorer Henri Mouhot rediscovered Angkor in 1863. This temple makes the 'Tomb Raider Temple' one of the most memorable and magnificent Angkor monuments.

Continue your explorations by visiting Angkor Thom , the ancient capital of the Great Khmer Empire, which once dominated a large portion of Southeast Asia. This city is enclosed by an 8-meter-tall wall that forms a perfect square. You will enter the city through the old South Gate, a colossal stone gate engraved with four enormous faces and elephants. A row of 54 gods or demons holds the sacred Naga serpent on each side of the entranceway.

Return to the hotel for a break from the midday heat at the hotel.

Your adventures will continue when you visit the late 12th-century Buddhist monastery Banteay Kdei ("Citadel of Chambers") and Sra Srang, also known as the "pool of ablutions." The Bayon Temple is located in the precise center of the historic city. This majestic masterpiece from the 12th century is famous for its 54 towers with mysterious faces representing the 54 provinces of the Great Khmer Empire.

Both the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King are noted for their exquisite bas-reliefs, therefore you will also see them. On your stroll through the grounds of the ancient Royal Palace, you will see a number of little-visited, secret temples.

Take a leisurely gondola boat ride across the moats of Angkor Thom to end your day of touring. Imagine the royal metropolis when it controlled over two million people nearly 800 years ago in peaceful isolation. As the sun approaches the horizon, make your way to Prasat Chrung, a modest temple built in the manner of Bayon, and ascend an iron staircase to a secluded spot for spectacular views of the ruins at sunset.

Let's enjoy your free time.

Overnight in Siem Reap

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch

Day 19: Siem Reap – Tonle Sap Lake – Phnom Penh

After breakfast and check out. You will be picked up by your guide and driver and transported to one of the largest and least-visited fishing towns on the Tonle Sap Lake , Kompong Khleang, some 55km southeast of Siem Reap. On the way, you'll stop for sticky rice and then take a diversion into the countryside. During the wet season, you will see families cultivating rice paddies as you travel along dirt roads.

Board a private motorized boat upon arrival to tour Kompong Khleang , the other two floating towns, and the Great Lake. Explore the city's canals (during the wet season) or streets (during the dry season). During the rainy season, the houses appear to be floating, as water laps at the verandas; but, during the dry season, the buildings' towering stilts are visible, making them like wooden skyscrapers.

During the boat journey, you will stop to see where the Bridge of Life is located, as well as to visit a Cambodian pagoda and a village home built on stilts to learn more about village life. Explore the lake's open water to witness a small floating community and learn more about this magnificent natural flood barrier.

Your tour will conclude with a boat journey back to the harbor, where your driver will be ready to transport you to Siem Reap airport for a short flight to Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia.

A new driver will meet you at the Phnom Penh airport and transport you to your hotel in the city center upon your arrival.

After settling into your hotel room and taking a little break. Take a guided tour to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21), a former school that served as a Khmer Rouge torture facility. It is estimated that around 20,000 individuals were detained and tortured here. You will also visit the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek , where a stupa composed of 8,000 human skulls marks the execution site of Tuol Sleng's torture victims. Afterward, you may choose to visit the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda to learn about a brighter moment in Cambodian history. Myth-shrouded Wat Phnom is as worthy of a visit as the National Museum's outstanding Khmer collection. The Central Market, US Embassy, Wat Phnom, Mekong river front, Independence Monument, and Royal Palace are typically included in city tours by bicycle, which is an excellent alternative to walking.

Overnight in Phnom Penh

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch

Day 20: Phnom Penh – City Tour – Killing Fields

After breakfast, your tour guide will take you on a tour of the National Museum, Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, Independence Monument, Russian Market, and Wat Phnom. Then we ate lunch at a Cambodian restaurant in the area.

You can learn more about these terrible years by going to the famous Tuol Sleng Museum of Genocidal Crimes and Cheung Ek , also called the "Killing Fields." It is a very sad thing to do, but you will be glad you went to these two places. When you go to Cambodia, you won't meet many people who didn't lose a family member during these years, but everyone is willing to talk openly with you about it. So that it doesn't happen again, they want you to know about it and see the places where it happened.

Day 21: Phnom Penh – Departure

Start your day with a tasty breakfast at your hotel.

Free time to do some shopping and explore around before departing to the airport.

And this is how the tour ends!

The tour may be over, but the memories you have collected during these last 21 days will stay in your mind for the rest of your life. This is what we want to offer you: a tour that brings you memories that last a lifetime and make you smile each time you think of them!

Cambodia Travel Guide The people of Cambodia are what make the country of Cambodia what it is: diverse, unique, and unexpectedly unsophisticated. Visitors are enchanted by the way ancient and modern times collide. Take your time and wander aimlessly amid the Angkor Wat ruins, marveling at the temple's massive size and meticulous design. Visit the gorgeous beaches of Koh Rong and experience the French colonial ambiance of Phnom Penh's boulevards at night. Travel to Cambodia with an open mind, and prepare to be amazed. And this is noted down before start travel to Cambodia.

LAOS The Republic of Laos is the sleeping beauty of Southeast Asia. It has been cut off from the rest of the world for decades, so tourism is still in its early stages here. Laos seems to be a place where time slows down, because even in the capital city, Vientiane, people don't seem to be in a hurry. The government is putting in place a green approach to development so that Laos's natural ecosystem can stay as natural as possible. This makes Laos a dream place to visit for people who love nature and wildlife and want to find out what it really means to get away from it all. And that is the reason you need to travel to Laos one time.   Laos is not only a place where no one is in a hurry, but it is also a Buddhist country where saffron-robed teens peek out of wats to see what is going on (temples). And while being the most bombed country in the world isn't exactly a glowing recommendation, a trip to Luang Prabang's World Heritage temples calms the soul. Explore Vientiane, the smallest capital city in the world, which moves at the same calm pace as the Mekong river that flows by it.

Return to Luang Prabang by boat and continue by car to visit Ban Xang Khong, a weaving village where traditional Sa paper is also produced.

Day 17: Luang Prabang - Chiang Mai

After breakfast, you'll then take your flight to Chiang Mai. Upon arrival, your guide will welcome you and escort you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to discover the city.

Day 18: Chiang Mai

Today, you will make some new friends by visiting the inhabitants of Baan Chang Elephant Park. After leaving the hotel at around 8:30 to 9:00, 50 minutes later you will be meeting, playing with, touching and bathing the elephants which live in this sustainable, ethical tourism park. After a vegetarian lunch for yourself, you will help prepare another for the elephants then feed them. Before returning to Chiang Mai, the Elephant's Day Care ends with a visit to the nursery area to meet the delightful baby elephants.

Day 19: Chiang Mai - Bangkok

Today, stop at Wat Umong on your way to Doi Suthep. The most unique feature of the temple is the tunnels which give the wat its name ("umong" is the Thai word for "tunnel"). Later, further up the road you'll reach the magical staircase leading to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, a major temple overlooking Chiang Mai part way up Mount Doi Suthep. After that, you'll fly to Bangkok. Upon arrival, your guide will greet you and escort you to the hotel.

Day 20: Bangkok

Enjoy your breakfast in the hotel; then, you will glimpse the local daily life in the vibrant flower and vegetable market. Next, explore the renowned Grand Palace and the nearby Wat Phra Kaew. After that, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant near the Palace.

Take a long-tail boat trip in the afternoon to see a more tranquil and verdant side of Bangkok. Wat Arun, the day's final stop, is a good place for you to take some stunning photos.

Day 21: Bangkok - Ayutthaya - Bangkok

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Ayutthaya for a journey back to the former capital, which is now UNESCO's World Heritage site. You will start your sightseeing from Bang Pa-In Summer Palace, one of the most beautiful Summer Palace in Thailand. Continue to Wat Maha That, a classic temple ruin of Ayutthaya and famous for the picturesque Buddha head engulfed by the Bodhi tree roots. The foundation size, remaining prangs, and towers attest to the significance of its time.

After a local Thai lunch, you move on to the Ayutthaya Historical Park and visit to the ancient palace ground. Wat Phra Sri Sanphet, once a royal temple lying beside the Grand Palace, was once the most significant temple during the Ayutthaya period. Adjacent to Wat Phra Sri Sanphet is Viharn Phra Mongkolbopit, an impressive building that houses a large seated bronze Buddha image. Its rebuilt pristine hall was believed to be a replica of the old Assembly Hall of Ayutthaya.

After the tour back to your hotel in Bangkok for an overnight.

Day 22: Departure

In the morning, enjoy your last stay in Thailand and your guide will accompany you to the airport for your return flight.

I wrote this review at the airport and I don't want to leave now. All the things they have given to us are so perfect. This is my second time in Asia but the first time in Southeast Asia. Dat, my representative is the best person I have met and the services I have used. Trust me, he will be always available and give you the best if you need any support. It's one of the most important things you need to attention to when you traveled and I am so happy to meet him in Hanoi. Guide, accommodation, transportation are top-notches. I don't want to use another travel agent because I believe it's the best

Spectacular Laos Vietnam Cambodia Travel Package Combination Tour of World Heritages

My husband and I had just returned from an amazing Indochina trip. It was a last minute decision and we had no idea what the place was like before! After reading through their reviews, we booked with Vietlong tour without hesitation@ It was a brilliant time and we visited many nice places of 3 countries with mixed culture and customs, especially we were welcomed by lovely local people at all places we visited. . The tour is highly recommended if you want a culture holiday, combining relaxation and let Vietlong team planning for you! Definitely value for money! Highlights: We will have nice experience discovering Indochina tours with many nice sceneries, lovely people and interesting histories.

Best of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos 14 Days 13 nights Tour

Best of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos 14 Days 13 nights

I went on the Best of Vietnam - Cambodia - Laos 14 Days 13 nights tour. Ha Long Bay was beautiful although it was overcast when I was there so the real beauty didn't shine through. I went in December to somewhat avoid the humidity so it was cool on the upper deck of the boat. You will need a hoodie or something with long sleeves. To me the Hanoi City Tour was not worth the time or money. I loved learning about the history of Laos although it was really quite sad. I would have preferred to be in a group but I was fortunate enough in a way that I ended up on a private tour because no one else had booked the tour in Laos when I went and so I was able to tailor the tour to suit me. I was able to get to Kuangsi Waterfall early and take uninterrupted photos and avoid the crowds. Remember to exchange AUD to USD before you arrive in Laos as they do not exchange AUD to USD whilst in Laos. So I wasn't able to help the local community and buy their products. It is not worth exchanging to Laos Kip because it's apparently not worth anything when you leave. I had to use my credit card for my meals; it worked out to be cheap. There is a Joma Bakery on the corner, 2 mins walk from the hotel- My Lao Home. Buffett breakfast was a few feet away from the hotel- as you step out of the hotel, go left and its on the right side of the street. Angkor Wat didn't disappoint. It's magnificent. We were fortunate enough to have a brilliant Tour Guide Serey Youk Kim. He engaged with us and took cheesey group photos of us which helped the group form a bond which the other Tour Guides weren't able to do. Unfortunately this tour does not include a visit to any of the Cambodian museums. In hindsight I would have liked to have visited a museum about the horrific history of the Khmer Rouge. The Cambodian hotel is a bit far from everything; I've given this feedback to Asia Focus. Whereas the other hotels in this tour package are well positioned with everything nearby. I would suggest you request Asia Focus to give Tonle Sap Lake half day tour a miss. It is not worth it at all. The Cu Chi Tunnels tour is worth it. Just remember to apply an insect repellent though! It was so interesting to learn about the ingenuity of everything about the tunnel concept. The bus ride back to the hotel was 2.5hrs due to peak hour traffic (FML!). Asia Focus should really organise a hotel between this and the Sai Gon - My Tho - Ben Tre tour rather than a hotel in the heart of the city as both tours are 2 hr bus rides (one way) and I would have preferred my time better spent. The Ho Chi Minh War Remnants Museum is a must see! I can't fathom how other countries could do this to a nation. I felt like crying looking at the photos and reading the devastating stories behind the exhibits at the museum. You could give the Sai Gon - My Tho - Ben Tre tour a miss. I made the most of it because I paid for it. Although it was an interesting "insight into daily life in the Mekong Delta". Tip: have enough USD for Visa's at Laos $USD30 for Australians and USD$50 in Cambodia for Australians. I got sick in the first 2 cities. To avoid getting sick in the next 2 cities I started brushing my teeth using the bottles of water provided in the hotels and I stopped eating anything raw as well. Which helped as I didn't get sick after that.

Budget Tours & Trips to Cambodia, Laos And Vietnam Reviews

This was my first time ever travelling without family and it was amazing! One of the best months of my life. Our CEO Tong was brilliant and full of knowledge about where we were going and what we would be doing. He made sure to have enough time for anyone and helped in anyway he could to make things run smoothly for everyone on tour including myself. If you go on this tour, make sure you ask for Tong or (Phanet Tep) as your CEO!
the best experience of my life. recommend this tour to anyone and everyone!!

The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Angkor contains hundreds of temples and palaces built by Cambodia's Khmer people from the 9th – 15th centuries… all enveloped by forest until the early 20th century. Built in the 12th century as a Buddhist university and monastery, jungle-clad Ta Prohm Temple is one of Angkor's gems. Left in the clutches of centuries-old vines, its delicate reliefs are covered by creeping plants and its massive stones are cleaved by green; the effect is otherworldly yet magnificent.

About Booking This Tour

Travel Documents

If you are a U.S. citizen traveling internationally,  you will need a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the completion of your Tauck journey and current visas to enter Vietnam and Cambodia. You will not need a visa to enter Thailand for the short duration of this tour. Please Note: Your passport should contain at least three blank visa pages.

If you are a citizen of another country traveling internationally, please contact a consulate or embassy of Vietnam, of Cambodia and Thailand to determine if entry visas are required.

Tauck has collaborated with VisaCentral in the US to assist our guests with processing and issuing their travel documents. If a guest opts to work with VisaCentral, their services are available online at www.visacentral.com/tauck . To speak directly with VisaCentral Customer Service, call 844-860-7199 (toll-free in the US) or email [email protected] .  All US citizens require a valid passport to enter Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand, and that passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the completion of travel. (Please note that although adult passports are valid for a full ten years, children's passports require renewal every five years.)  Your passport must also contain a minimum of at least 3 blank visa pages. Please be advised that that extra visa pages are no longer available for passports. If you need additional pages in order to comply, you must renew your passport even if your current passport has not expired.  If you are a United States citizen and do not have a valid passport, please contact the closest US passport agency or consult the US State Department web site for detailed information on how to obtain or renew your passport at: www.travel.state.gov .  A visa is not required for Thailand.  Visas are necessary for both Vietnam and Cambodia. Please note that these visas must be processed within 90 days of your arrival.  All fees will be listed on visa paperwork.  The visa fee, as well as any applicable consular fees and shipping fees, are not included in the tour cost. The visa application will include the amount of the visa fee, which varies by destination.  Additionally, you may elect to obtain a Vietnam e-visa online at https://evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/en and/or a Cambodian e-visa on line at www.evisa.gov.kh  Non-US citizens should contact the embassies or consulates of Vietnam, Cambodia & Thailand to determine what documentation is required.  We advise bringing a photocopy of your passport as well as 2 extra passport photos in case your passport is lost during the tour. Be sure to check the expiration of your passport. New passports and visas may take several weeks to obtain.  IMPORTANT NOTE: Failure to obtain ALL necessary documentation prior to your tour may result in being denied entry into a country, or delays in entry until proper documentation can be obtained. In consideration of the larger group (and to maintain our planned itinerary), travelers who have failed to obtain the necessary documentation in advance may need to remain at the airport, and could thus be responsible for arranging (and paying for) their own transportation to join the group. Tauck will not be responsible for obtaining any missing documentation, nor will Tauck be responsible for any expenses incurred, missed tour components or other losses resulting from the failure to obtain proper travel documents in advance.  Regardless of which visa service company is used, the application will require a summary of your Tauck itinerary, which we will be happy to provide. Please email [email protected].   Please note: Because a visa is an official document, Tauck cannot apply for a visa on your behalf, and we are very limited regarding the assistance we're able to provide. If you require help, we recommend working with a reputable visa service company as they can provide the highest level of assistance.

To facilitate Travel Requirements, destinations are increasingly utilizing online forms that require digital proof that you've successfully completed your submission (via an email, QR code, etc.) To ensure smooth travels and peace of mind, we strongly recommend all guests carry a personal smart phone and sign up for international data plans before traveling overseas.

Note: For activities marked with an asterisk (*) in day-by-day descriptions, participation is at your own risk; a signed liability waiver will be required.

TRAVELING WITH CHILDREN AS A GUARDIAN: If you are traveling as the guardian of a child/children, we strongly suggest that you carry a letter from both parents of the child authorizing emergency treatment in the event of illness or accident. For travel abroad, many foreign countries have specific entry requirements for children under 21 who are traveling internationally without BOTH parents. (These requirements are in response to the increased incidence of children being abducted and taken abroad.) PLEASE NOTE THAT TAUCK IS NOT RESPONSIBLE for the disruption of travel caused by improper documentation for children traveling without both parents.

Tauck's Guest Protection provides you with cancellation protection before your journey begins as well as insurance benefits while you are traveling. Guest Protection includes the following:

Cancellation Waiver – Provided by Tauck:

Under Tauck's Cancellation Fee Waiver you can cancel your tour for ANY REASON up to the day before departure and receive a money-back refund (except in Extreme Circumstances*) on the land tour cost, based on your original method of payment.

*Extreme Circumstances:  In the event of an act of God, war (whether declared or undeclared), terrorism, accident, natural disaster, outbreak of disease, or other event or circumstance beyond our control that contributes to or results in cancellation rates above our historical cancellation rates in the absence of such event or occurrence, Tauck reserves the right to issue a credit to you in lieu of a money-back refund, applicable to a future Tauck journey.

Travel Insurance Benefits – Underwritten by United States Fire Insurance Company.

This protection provides insurance coverage that applies only during the covered trip. You may have coverage from other sources that provides you with similar benefits but may be subject to different restrictions depending upon your other coverages. You may wish to compare the terms of this policy with your existing life, health, home and automobile policies. If you have any questions about your current coverage, call your insurer, insurance agent or broker.

This optional Guest Protection must be requested at time of booking and fee must be included with initial payment. Fees are based on costs as of July 1, 2021, and are subject to change. Details will be provided with written confirmation of your tour reservation. Guest Protection does not protect travel agent commissions. Reimbursements will be made according to original method of payment. The amount of any refund shall be reduced by any recoveries obtained by you from any third parties.

The Guest Protection plan waives cancellation fees outlined below, provided we are notified of cancellation before your tour departs. Tour cancellation fees are waived regardless of reason, without written notice, and Tauck will refund land tour cost.

To obtain your state-specific Certificate of Insurance that contains the complete terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions of the certificate, visit  affinitytravelcert.com/docs/TACGPPINTL .

If you cancel within 10 days of initial deposit Within the first 10 days after you place your initial deposit, you may cancel your reservation for any reason with no cancellation fees. If you cancel more than 10 days after initial deposit Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed bookings. Travel Requirements For This Tour

Air Information and Luggage Restrictions

AIRFARE: Airfare to and from this destination is not included in the journey cost. If purchasing your air elsewhere, it is very important to provide us with your confirmed arriving and departing flight information no later than 3 weeks before your arrival date. Flight information can be submitted to Tauck (or verified, if you've already provided it) in the My Account section of Tauck.com.

TAUCK AIRPORT TRANSFERS are included at the start and end of the journey between the airport and the Tauck hotel. Airport transfers are available for any pre tour or post tour hotel stays immediately consecutive to the tour, providing flight information is received in the Tauck office no later than three weeks in advance. Details on locating your transfer upon arrival to the tour start city will be included in your final documents.

AIRLINES and CHECKED LUGGAGE: Due to space limitations during your Tauck journey, we ask that you please limit your checked luggage to one average-size suitcase per person. Besides complying with the Tauck restriction noted above, you should also be sure to research and comply with all airline baggage restrictions relating to your flights to and from your Tauck journey. Airlines have become much more strict in enforcing size and weight limits in recent years, and are free to revise luggage policies without notice. Researching and complying with airline luggage restrictions is the responsibility of the guest, and Tauck cannot be held responsible for any costs or disruptions to travel caused by the failure to research and comply with airline policies. PLEASE NOTE that if you are booked on a tour that includes on-tour flights, the checked luggage weight restrictions for these flights may be lower than the weight restrictions for your international flights.

Special Luggage Restrictions for this Tour

Due to strictly enforced weight restrictions on the on-tour flights, luggage weight per person must not exceed 44 lbs (20 kg) and you are permitted only one piece of checked luggage. Luggage exceeding the allowable weight is subject to excess baggage charges, which may result in a considerable additional expense.

The maximum allowable weight for carry-on luggage is 15 lbs (6.8 kg), and the maximum allowable dimensions are 22" by 14" by 10" (55.9 cm by 35.6 cm by 25 cm).  These dimensions include all wheels, handles, pockets, etc. If these dimensions are exceeded, the carry-on piece will be checked.

Regulations within most airports require that customers handle their own luggage through customs.

Checked Luggage – General

Besides complying with the Tauck restriction noted above, you should also be sure to research and comply with all airline baggage restrictions relating to your flights to and from your Tauck journey. Airlines have become much more strict in enforcing size and weight limits in recent years, and luggage exceeding airline standards for size or weight may result in expensive overage fees or other consequences.

Airlines are free to revise luggage policies without notice, and certain airlines have different baggage allowances for different classes of service. Researching and complying with airline luggage restrictions is the responsibility of the guest, and Tauck cannot be held responsible for any costs or disruptions to travel caused by the failure to research and comply with airline policies.

Tauck luggage tags will be provided by your Tauck Director on Day 1 of your itinerary. Please do not attach a Tauck luggage tag to any carry-on items, as the Tauck tags designate luggage that is to be handled and transferred by ground operators and hotel staff during your journey.

Carry-on Luggage – General

Although oversize bags and wheeled, carry-on luggage are popular for airline travel, they are often not convenient or appropriate for motor coach travel or for many on-tour flights. Most modern sightseeing motor coaches offer limited space for numerous or larger items. Space under seats or in the overhead rack is typically small, and designed to accommodate items like coats, hats, purses, and small camera bags, etc.

For your day-to-day travel while on tour, we recommend that you limit your hand luggage to a small, soft-sided carry-on piece, and only those items you need handy during the day such as purses, make-up, medications, cameras, film, etc. Items too large to fit under the motor coach seat or in the overhead rack must be stored in the luggage bays beneath the motor coach, and may be inaccessible during daytime travel.

Health, Safety and Mobility

HEALTH CONSIDERATIONS

Please check with your health insurance provider to determine whether you are covered while traveling. If you will not be covered under your current policy, we strongly suggest that you arrange for adequate coverage while on tour. If you have a medical condition which might limit your participation in activities, please consult your physician for pre-departure health advice and notify Tauck as soon as possible, if you have not already done so. We will advise your Tauck Director accordingly.

VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Some of the countries visited on this itinerary may require travelers to provide proof of vaccination against certain diseases in order to enter the country.  These requirements are subject to frequent change as outbreaks occur and subside in different areas, and it is therefore crucial that you obtain the very latest information on entry requirements as you prepare for your journey.

For the most current information, please consult the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by clicking  here  and the World Health Organization (WHO) by clicking  here . You may also wish to visit the web sites for the embassies of the countries you will be visiting.  Besides providing details on vaccination requirements, these sites can also provide information on vaccinations that may be recommended (but aren't required) and other potential health issues for which no vaccines are available.

Any decisions relating to your health, of course, should not be based solely on information provided by a web site.  It is critically important that you consult with your personal physician prior to your journey to obtain any required vaccinations and to review any optional recommendations offered by the CDC or other sources.

Please be sure to discuss your journey with your physician at least four to six weeks in advance of your departure, as certain vaccinations take time to become fully effective.  Also, be certain to ask your physician for proof of any vaccinations you receive, and to pack this proof along with your other travel documents in your carry-on luggage (not in your checked luggage).

Researching and complying with vaccination entry requirements for the countries visited on this itinerary is the responsibility of the traveler and not Tauck. Tauck is therefore not responsible for any expenses incurred or disruptions to travel caused by improper or incomplete vaccinations, or by the failure to provide proof of required vaccinations.

If you do not obtain the necessary vaccinations and proper documentation, you may be denied entry into one or more countries, or temporarily quarantined until the necessary vaccinations are administered, or until proper documentation is provided.

This Southeast Asia tour is very active and includes 6 on-tour flights. You should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances over uneven terrain that may, at times, be rocky and muddy, as some of the most memorable sightseeing can only be accomplished on foot. Southeast Asia is home to innumerable historic buildings and sites, some dating from antiquity. Therefore, roads, walkways and architecture will present difficulties for some guests with physical disabilities. For the most part, however, the amount of walking you do is at your discretion. Please Note: There are numerous steps on this itinerary. In addition to walking, various other modes of transportation used to highlight the different aspects of Southeast Asian culture and geography for this tour could include airplane, boat, sampan, cyclo and tuk-tuk (auto rickshaw).

AN IMPORTANT NOTE ON SUPPLEMENTAL OXYGEN AND MOBILITY ISSUES:  This Tauck itinerary cannot accommodate oxygen tanks, wheelchairs or motorized scooters.  Oxygen tanks are strictly prohibited in many foreign countries on regional flights aboard small aircraft, such as those intra-tour flights featured on this Tauck journey.  Likewise, the very limited cargo capacity on such flights prohibits the transport of wheelchairs or motorized scooters.

Guests should also bear in mind that the infrastructure in many foreign countries, particularly in developing countries, often presents severe and even insurmountable challenges for those with walking difficulties or other mobility issues.  The responsibility of the Tauck Director is to ensure that the larger group enjoys a relaxing and informative journey, and he or she cannot be relied upon to provide ongoing individual assistance to any one guest.  Guests requiring such individualized assistance must be accompanied by an able-bodied companion who can provide it.

SPECIAL DIETARY REQUESTS

The restaurants, hotels, caterers and numerous other partners we work with all do their best to accommodate special dietary requests from Tauck guests. However, given the diverse nature of those food providers (from small wineries to grand hotels to world-famous restaurants in more than 70 countries worldwide), some of our partners are better able than others to accommodate such requests. We therefore cannot guarantee that all dietary requests can be accommodated at every meal. Also, please note that where dietary requests can be accommodated, choices will frequently be limited.

Reading List

We have compiled a reading list of recommended books to give you more information about the destinations you will be traveling to on your upcoming journey!

You can view the reading list  here.

The weather in Southeast Asia is generally hot and humid year round with little fluctuation. Average high temperatures in Southeast Asia generally range from 65° to 90°F (18 to 32°C) in Hanoi to 85 to 95°F (29 to 35°C) in Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City, with high humidity throughout the year. Rainfall amounts are much heavier from May through October than they are from November though April.

To read about current weather conditions, we suggest you log on to the Internet website,  noaa.gov , by clicking  here .

What To Pack

The climate in Southeast Asia is hot and humid year round. We suggest that you pack lightweight, casual clothing. While it is quite rainy and hot for most of the year, our departure dates are always scheduled when weather will be optimal.

Dress for comfort and convenience with a wardrobe that is flexible. Casual, cotton clothing is recommended. Sturdy yet comfortable walking shoes that have already been broken-in are essential. For dining in the evening, and for the welcome reception and the farewell dinner, you may wish to dress up a bit, but certainly be comfortable. Jackets for men are not required.

Valet laundry service is available throughout the entire tour. Hairdryers and irons and ironing boards are either located in your hotel room or are immediately available upon request.

We recommend that you pack an adequate supply of your prescription medication in its original container to last through your entire journey, together with a copy of your doctor's prescription or a letter from your health-care provider on office stationery explaining that the medication has been prescribed for you, a list of the generic names of your medication, your travel documents and a change of clothing in your carry-on bag to avoid any inconvenience in the event that your flight or luggage is delayed.

Toiletries, sundries, and over-the-counter and prescription medications may either be difficult to find or not available in Southeast Asia.

Following is a list of recommended items to pack for your journey across Southeast Asia:

  • Casual, cotton clothing
  • An optional sports jacket for men
  • Casual yet elegant evening wear for ladies
  • Light sweater
  • Light waterproof jacket
  • Sturdy yet comfortable, walking shoes that have already been broken-in

Please refer to the Necessary Gear website at  www.necessarygear.com  as one option available to you for renting and purchasing apparel, PPEs, and other items appropriate for your journey.

Asia is an incredible place for budget travel, as even its most popular destinations can be surprisingly cheap. Vietnam has long been one of the cheapest destinations in the world for budget travelers. Despite being home to so many incredible spots like the dramatic Ha Long Bay and Ho Chi Minh City, this Asian country promises to be easy on tourist pockets.

While it really depends on individual spending habits, budget travelers can enjoy a fun-filled day in Vietnam from $40 to $50 .

  • Cheapest times to visit Vietnam: September to November, April to June

Indonesia is one of the cheapest Asian countries to visit on vacation, and there are even plenty of free things to do, so travelers will have a lot of opportunities to save money while having amazing adventures. Also, many attractions in Indonesia that require payment only set visitors back a few dollars.

Of course, there are expensive attractions in this country, but visiting them and spiking the budget is the choice of the tourist involved. Overall, $20 can cover the cost of accommodation, food, transport, water, and other daily requirements that travelers may need in Indonesia in a day.

  • Cheapest time to visit Indonesia: October to April but avoid Christmas and New Year

Philippines

The Philippines is one of the most beautiful yet cheap countries in Asia to visit, and it offers an abundance of things for tourists to see and do - with most being very affordable. Also, the cost of living in the Philippines is low, especially for those armed with foreign currencies like Dollars, Euros, or Pounds. In the Philippines, there are good hotels that cost as little as $10, and some street food can be as cheap as $5.

Transport here is also cheap, as train fares are usually between $1 and $2, although it can be higher depending on the distance. Bus tickets are higher but still cost between $2 and $10. Overall, expect to spend between $40 and $80 a day in the Philippines . Although it can be much less depending on the level of frugality of the traveler involved.

  • Tip to visit the Philippines affordable: Avoid traveling in April and May, and late December and early January

In Thailand, visitors can choose how cheap or expensive they want their vacation to be. Thailand can be explored on a budget , and it has plenty of attractions that are quite literally free, and visitors will only spend between $0.50 and $2 on trains in many major cities daily.

In addition, food in Thailand is very affordable, with some costing as little as $1. Plus, the country has many budget hotels, some of which cost $10 or less. What's more, Bangkok is one of the few places in the world where one can get a good hour-long massage for less than $10.

Overall, a great day in Thailand can cost around $75 , although many travelers can still live the dream for less than $30. With such affordability, it’s easier to tip in Thailand, as tourists usually have a lot of spare money in their pockets.

Some budget travelers can cut their daily costs in India to as little as $30 a day or less when taking cheaper transport options like trains.

Laos is the most underrated country in Asia , but that’s not because it does not have anything to offer tourists. But popularity aside, Laos has so many incredible things to offer, from beautiful natural attractions like Kuans Si Caves & Waterfalls to cultural and historic attractions like the ancient temple of Wat Phu.

The country is also super mild on the pocket, and when that is added to a smaller population and lots of things to see and do, Laos becomes one of the best places to visit in Asia on a budget. Nepal is one of the most popular Asian destinations on the list, as it is home to Mount Everest and several other towering mountains that attract about a million people yearly. Besides mountaineering, Nepal also offers other thrilling experiences like cave exploration, wildlife watching, and ziplining.

When it comes to cost, Nepal is another one of the cheapest places in Asia to visit, with daily spending hanging around $30 to $40 . However, that is if Mount Everest or one of its summits is out of the budget because it costs a lot of money (and time) to summit a mountain . While the average cost in Nepal is a little bit higher than the other cheap vacation destinations in Asia, it definitely is affordable compared to other parts of the planet with world-famous attractions.

  • Tip to visit Nepal Affordably: Avoid the high season (October - November)

Mongolia invites visitors to come enjoy some of the most unique adventures in Asia with little money. This country finds itself among the cheapest vacation destinations in Asia to visit, with modest accommodations ranging from $10 - $20.

By Vietnam or Thailand standards, that’s expensive, but when compared to other countries where the same meal or accommodation can cost several dollars more, Mongolia is affordable. Realistically, budget travelers should expect to spend about $30 to $50 a day in this country, which includes accommodation, food, water, and transport.

  • Cheapest time to visit Mongolia: November to March

Cambodia is home to some of the most interesting attractions in the world, one of which is Angkor Wat - a Buddhist temple considered the largest religious structure in the world. But even with so many points of interest spread out across this country, it has remained one of the most affordable countries in the world to visit on vacation.

Whether it's food, transport, or accommodation, most things in Cambodia are fairly cheap, especially for foreigners coming with stronger currencies. Besides the few hundred dollars that one will inevitably spend on flights, visitors only need about $30 to have a good time in Cambodia in a day.

  • Cheapest time to visit Cambodia: April to October

Sri Lanka is one place where travelers will never complain about prices but will rather be shocked by how cheap it can be to travel the country.

With less than $40 a day , travelers can live the dream in Sri Lanka, especially when visiting in the off-season (December to April) when things are so budget-friendly that it almost feels like a steal.
