One of the key components in having success in the music industry, especially lately, is to have a sound that is unique and can span across genres in order to gain a large following. Ramon Melendi Espina, or just Melendi, did this by combining rock, flamenco and rumba influences to produce pop music that can appeal to a large number of people.

In the case of Melendi’s live show, and music in general, I really have to attribute the idea of music crossing over all language barriers because I do not understand Spanish. But… I appreciate and loved watching his live set as much as anyone who does understand Spanish. The language barrier allowed me to take more notice of the music itself, and the emotion that he put into every single word. With his band in the background, and him front in center, looking super cool and rockstar-like, he puts you under a spell with his emotions. He sings as if he is only singing to you and everyone else sort of disappears. You are suddenly snapped back to reality as soon as he finishes his song because the crowd around you cheers and applauds at a deafening decibel.

Una de las noches que jamas olvidare, recuerdo muchas años atrás cuando estando en Cuba todos me decían loco por escuchar su música, cuando era solo un asturiano loco que cantaba rumba, hoy en día es unos de los mas influyentes músicos de habla hispana con millones de seguidores en el mundo y con múltiples premios y logros como ser el cantante español mas escuchado en las listas de Spotify, jamas me imaginé que tendría la oportunidad de asistir a un concierto suyo, anoche fue posible y lo curioso es que en ese concierto vi a personas llorando y cantando las canciones que años anteriores decían que no escuchaba nadie y que eran de locos

Te conocí en la voz con tu niñita Melody y desde ese día me enamoré de tus canciones!!!!! Tanto fue así que no dudé en comprar un ticket para verte!!!!! Fue espectacularmente Mágico!!!! TE DESO LO MEJOR DEL MUNDO MELENDI!!!! Que DIOS te cuide siempre!!!!

I really enjoyed the concert even though Caminando por la vida, one of my favourite songs, wasn't played. The place was incredible and everything was very well organised. I think the part of the basketball went on for too long.
