What People Are Saying About Apostle Islands

Took the cruise in late June in near perfect weather so we were able to fully enjoy the sea caves and lighthouse cruise on the catamaran. The captain provided a lot of narration that was informative and fun. Lots of Dad-worthy jokes. The scenery was beautiful and it was nice to learn about the various islands as we passed by. Saw two lighthouses and the captain was good to turn the boat around so people on both sides could get good views and picture. The sea caves were fascinating to see.

Day-to-Day Itinerary

Lakefront in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Day 1: Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Embark your ship and settle into your stateroom. Milwaukee was first settled by Europeans in 1818, when French-Canadian fur trader Solomon Juneau arrived. German, Polish and Eastern European immigrants followed, bringing with them a long tradition of beer brewing. For several decades in the 20th century, Milwaukee became the world’s most prolific beer producer. Today, the city is a vibrant center of art, history and culture. The RiverWalk, a pedestrian walkway along the Milwaukee, is a popular spot for enjoying relaxing strolls or viewing public art installations.

Horse and Carriage in front of the Grand Hotel, Mackinac Island, Michigan

Day 2: Mackinac Island, Michigan

Steeped in the charms of simpler times, Mackinac Island is a gem of the Great Lakes. Located in the Straits of Mackinac where Michigan’s upper and lower peninsulas are closest and Lakes Huron and Michigan meet, this bucolic haven preserves gilded Victorian-era treasures along car-free streets traversed by horse-drawn carriages. The perimeter road is the only state highway in the US that does not permit motor vehicles. More than 80% of Mackinac is protected as a state park, from its Greek Revival Grand Hotel and British-built Fort Mackinac to its preserved wilderness areas.

Kayakers exploring in Georgian Bay

Days 3-5: Explore Georgian Bay

Discover the magnificent UNESCO Biosphere Reserve of Georgian Bay. The pristine shores of Frazer Bay, Killarney and Parry Sound are best explored by kayak or RIB while peaceful walking trails lead into the woodland realms of native flora and fauna. The beloved Thirty Thousand Islands stretch along the lakeshore for 120 miles, forming one of the world’s largest freshwater archipelagos. Among art lovers, this area is known as the picturesque subject of the Group of Seven, a prolific cadre of 1920s and early 1930s landscape painters inspired by the natural world.

A raised bridge near the Soo Locks in Sault Saint Marie

Day 6: Scenic Sailing: Soo Locks Transit

The Soo Locks is a series of parallel locks that make river travel between Lake Superior and Lake Huron possible, thereby linking Superior to the lower Great Lakes and the Atlantic. Opened in 1855 to allow ships to bypass the river’s 21-foot fall over roiling rapids, this innovative lock system—along with the Erie Canal built 30 years prior—was one of the great engineering projects of its day. Today, it guides ships past the twin cities of Sault Ste. Marie in Ontario and Sault Ste. Marie in Michigan; its bridge crosses over the Soo Locks, connecting the two cities.

An island in Silver Islet

Day 7: Silver Islet, Ontario

Silver Islet sits on the southern edge of the Sibley Peninsula at the mouth of Thunder Bay. Nearby Sleeping Giant Provincial Park attracts outdoor enthusiasts year-round with its diverse wildlife and many miles of hiking trails that lead to spectacular views of the Canadian Shield landscape. Less than a mile from its shores are the remnants of an abandoned silver mine. Located 1,200 feet below Lake Superior, this unique underwater mine was the world’s largest and most valuable silver mine, producing the modern-day equivalent of $78 million before flooding in 1884.

Kakabeka Falls, THunder Bay, Ontario Canada

Day 8: Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada

Thunder Bay is known as “Canada’s Gateway to the West” for its location at the final navigational point on the Canadian side of Lake Superior. Originally founded as a fur trading post, a settlement was established in 1803 and Fort William was erected. In 1970, Fort William and neighboring Port Arthur were merged to form the City of Thunder Bay. Today, it is one of Ontario’s most vibrant cities and a center of art and culture. Its Waterfront District is beloved for its views across the bay of the Sleeping Giant, a long line of mesas that resemble a giant lying on its back. After breakfast, disembark your ship and journey home.

12 reasons why you should take a Great Lakes cruise on the Viking Octantis

Joanne and Tony DiBona

March 21, 2024 // By Joanne and Tony DiBona

Take off on a Great Lakes cruise from Milwaukee

Viking's Great Lakes cruise is full of surprises

When you think of taking a cruise, sailing around the Great Lakes probably isn't the first thing that comes to mind. But it should be, and  Viking's Great Lakes Cruises  charts several breathtaking and memorable courses.   Though the 15-day Great Lakes Collection earned accolades for Best New Cruise Itinerary , we opted for a shorter cruise trip: the eight-day  Great Lakes Explorer . This itinerary departs from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and culminates in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada.   Come aboard! Here's a look at everything this Great Lakes cruise has to offer.

The Viking Octantis staterooms include lots of amenities and perks

Soaking up the perks on the Viking Octantis

The Polar Class  Viking Octantis  features 189 staterooms and holds 387 passengers, so you'll never feel crowded onboard. Many ways to unwind include sitting in the Explorers' Lounge, with its amazing views over the lake, and hitting the pool, sauna, or steam room at the Nordic Spa.   The luxurious staterooms offer all the comforts of home, from luxury linens to a large flat-screen TV, plus a floor-to-ceiling heated drying closet and 24-hour complimentary room service.

Visit Mackinac Island's main street from the Viking Octantis

Visiting Mackinac Island in Michigan

Made famous by the 1980 movie "Somewhere in Time,"  filmed on location here , Mackinac Island is a gem of the Great Lakes cruise. Steeped in the charm of simpler times, this bucolic haven in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan preserves picturesque Victorian buildings along car-free streets traversed only by horse-drawn carriages, bicycles, and pedestrians.

Take in the view over Fort Mackinac on Mackinac Island

Exploring Fort Mackinac State Historic Park

While there are many Viking shore excursions on Mackinac Island, we decided to hike up to  Fort Mackinac State Historic Park , where we saw this lovely panorama with a view of our ship. Summer is the perfect time to visit the island when flowers bloom in every corner.

Don't miss Mamsen's on the Viking Octantis Great Lakes cruise

Dining on the Viking Octantis

Several dining options offer something for every taste, from the World Cafe buffet to the Viking sushi bar.   Make sure to find your way to Mamsen's popular Norwegian-style deli to enjoy two of our favorite dishes: the savory split pea soup and the legendary waffles. Several dishes made at Mamsen's use traditional recipes passed down from generation to generation in the family of Torstein Hagen, Viking's chairman.

A classical duo entertains guests on the Viking Octantis Great Lakes cruise

Enjoy live entertainment aboard the Viking Octantis

This musical duo provided a perfect mixture of smooth jazz and classical selections as we watched the natural beauty of the Great Lakes roll by.

The Soo Locks are a highlight on Viking's Great Lakes cruise

Squeezing through the famous Soo Locks

Cruise passengers gather on the bow of the Viking Octantis as it transits from Lake Huron into Lake Superior via the  Soo Locks  on St. Marys River in Michigan.   The Great Lakes St. Lawrence Seaway System is considered one of the longest deep draft navigation systems, and one of the most outstanding engineering feats of the 20th century. Since 1855, more than 10,000 ships now pass through these locks annually.

The famed Sea Lion arch in Ontario, Canada

Seeing the Sea Lion Arch via Viking's Great Lakes cruise

Sleeping Giant Provincial Park  is the home of the famous Sea Lion Arch, seen here from a Viking special operations boat. Outfitted with hydraulic seats and handrails for comfort and safety, this vessel explores the Great Lakes at an exhilarating speed.   The boats are perfect for photographers as they get to different scenic points in record time. Additionally, the vessel can stop immediately to allow anyone to capture the "perfect shot."

An eagle stands tall at Sleeping Giant Provincial Park in Canada

Capturing sights from a Great Lakes cruise

Speaking of a "perfect shot," we were thrilled to capture this photo of an eagle posing dramatically on a tree top in Sleeping Giant Provincial Park from our special operations boat.

Visiting Parry Sound in Ontario, Canada

Getting postcard-perfect images

The quaint town of Parry Sound, Ontario, boasts the world's deepest natural freshwater port. The Canadian Pacific Railroad trestle adds to the picturesque views to behold in this charming port-of-call.

Checking out The Big Dipper, the world's largest canoe paddle

Checking out the world's largest paddle

The paths along the Killarney Mountain Lodge on Georgian Bay offer pristine views of the lake and its unique flora and fauna. It's also the site of The Big Dipper , completed in 2020 by Canada's most famous canoeist, Mike Ranta. Weighing in at 22,000 pounds with a length of 110 feet, it carries the distinction of being the world's largest paddle.

The views over Thunder Bay in Ontario, Canada

Visiting Thunder Bay in Ontario, Canada

We highly recommend adding a pre- or post-expedition overnight stay in  Thunder Bay .   This delightful town has much to offer, from exceptional hiking trails, first-class dining and shopping, sailboat expeditions, biking opportunities, and unforgettable attractions such as Fort Williams Historical Park (Canada's equivalent of Colonial Williamsburg). The majestic Kakabeka Falls, known as the "Niagara of the North," is another highlight.

Ditch the polar gear: 7 warm-weather expedition cruises that will wow nature and adventure lovers

The Pacific Plunge_Captain Cook Cruises

If you thought expedition cruising was all about polar destinations, think again. The newest ships and itineraries will have you swapping the thermal gear for swimsuits, basking in bright sunshine and slipping into the warm crystal waters in some of the more remote tropics around the world, including wild frontiers without the bone-chilling cold.

Here are seven of the best warm-weather expedition itineraries to explore.

For cruise news, reviews and tips, sign up for TPG's cruise newsletter .

Seabourn in the Kimberley

lake wisconsin cruises

The Kimberley is Australia's hottest destination right now, and Seabourn 's ultra-luxe Seabourn Pursuit — which debuts there in June — is the best way to see it in style. The 10-night Waterfalls and Wandjinas tour from Broome to Darwin winds through a wilderness that is almost the size of California but home to fewer than 40,000 people.

Natural wonders abound in this wild frontier etched with rivers, waterfalls, tidal creeks, reefs and white sand beaches — many only accessible by boat. On guided tours, witness ancient rock art, dive into Western Australia's rich pearling history and experience Indigenous culture firsthand with a traditional face-painting ceremony.

On board the 264-passenger Seabourn Pursuit is a wellness spa, 24-hour room service (hello caviar) and the Bow Lounge, which features interactive navigation maps and front-row seats to saltwater crocodiles and the magnificent red sandstone gorges that date back 1.8 billion years. Expeditions are equally mind-blowing, as the Zodiac boats thread through the narrow gap of Horizontal Falls or zip out as the tide turns so guests can see Montgomery Reef surface magically from the sea.

UnCruise Adventures in Hawaii

lake wisconsin cruises

Nothing says aloha like island hopping in Hawaii aboard a 36-guest boutique yacht. UnCruise Adventures ' seven-night Hawaiian Seascapes expedition is one for nature lovers, with opportunities to snorkel with manta rays, swim with sea turtles, float above a coral garden bright with neon fish or peer into the crater of an active volcano.

Hawaiian culture is also in the spotlight. With stops at four islands — Molokai, Lanai, Maui and Hawaii (the Big Island) — you'll have ample time to explore. Cycle local villages, chase waterfalls, hike rainforests alive with birdsong or learn to make poi, Hawaii's beloved dish of mashed taro.

On board Safari Explorer are kayaks, paddleboards and a skiff to explore the dramatic coastline up close. Lounging on the ship's three decks has its own reward. You might spot cavorting dolphins or a humpback whale or two popping out of the sea to wave a fin hello.

Lindblad Expeditions in Baja Mexico

lake wisconsin cruises

Cruise the Sea of Cortez with Lindblad Expeditions, and you'll soon discover the magic of Baja Mexico from a team with more than 30 years of experience sailing this dazzling 2,500-mile coastline.

Itineraries of six to 15 days dive into this biodiverse landscape — described by Jacques Cousteau as nature's aquarium. Get up close to sea lions, rays, big fish and dolphins. Shore landings are no less awesome, hiking desert arroyos spiked with cactuses and islands clamorous with sea lions and squawking seabirds.

Whale watching is one of Baja's biggest draws, the sparkling waters filled with the spray and song of humpbacks, orcas and the rare blue whale. This is where California gray whales come to breed and huge whale sharks glide through shimmering seas. These encounters are memorable, but Lindblad goes one step further, with expeditions in local panga boats for up-close encounters with the gentle mamas and their calves.

Silversea Cruises in the Galapagos

lake wisconsin cruises

The Galapagos is the ultimate in adventure travel. This remote archipelago of 19 islands is carpeted with an astonishing 9,000 species of flora and fauna, many not found anywhere else in the world. It's here that Charles Darwin formulated his theory of evolution. More than 150 years later, not much has changed, except perhaps the mode of transport.

Cue Silversea Cruises ' Silver Origin, a luxe 50-suite ship with butler service and a decidedly Ecuadorian flavor found in the ship's food, team of Ecuadorian national expert guides and, of course, excursions. Off-ship expeditions will have you hiking ancient lava flows, snorkeling with huge fish and island hopping through primordial landscapes flush with blue- and red-footed boobies, sea lions and giant tortoises.

Drama is everywhere in the Galapagos — and not just the animal kind. Thirteen of the 21 volcanoes in the archipelago are active. With a little luck, your wilderness outing might include dress circle views of a volcano's billowing peak.

Aqua Expeditions in Raja Ampat

lake wisconsin cruises

Spend a week sailing Indonesia's Raja Ampat with Aqua Expeditions, and you could be forgiven for thinking you'd found paradise. Galaxies of karst islands drift above coral reefs alive with darting fish, pygmy seahorses, black-tipped reef sharks, octopuses and manta rays. The diving and snorkeling are out of this world.

So, too, is life on board Aqua Blu, a 30-passenger superyacht replete with a Jacuzzi, an outdoor barbeque and a Balinese spa. The former HMS Beagle is barefoot luxury at its best with a no-shoes policy for the entire seven-night cruise.

On board are diving and snorkeling gear, kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, so you can explore this far-flung Southeast Asian archipelago at your own pace. On landings, unearth hidden lagoons and beaches, and go in search of the rare crimson bird of paradise. One thing is certain: Dropping anchor anywhere in this pristine archipelago of 1,500 islands promises nature writ large.

Aurora Expeditions in Costa Rica and the Panama Canal

lake wisconsin cruises

Slow-moving three-toed sloths, howler monkeys, toucans and crimson macaws are just some of the wonders of Costa Rica, a nation that lives and breathes sustainability. The newest cruise from eco-minded Aurora Expeditions tours the Central American country's Pacific coastline, diving into the heart of its greenest parks and wildlife reserves, including the small but popular Manuel Antonio National Park.

Panama is another highlight of this 10-night sailing (with a one-night pre-cruise stay in San Jose, Costa Rica). There are stops in the Pearl Islands and a visit to the Indigenous Indian tribes of Embera, a village deep in the rainforest. Miraflores Visitor Center — with the history of making the canal — is also fascinating.

Most cruises head straight through the canal, but Aurora runs expeditions in Gatun Lake, the 21-mile artificial waters that made the Panama Canal crossing possible. It's, of course, a warmup for the main event — a daylight crossing of the 51-mile engineering marvel that connects the Pacific and Atlantic oceans.

Captain Cook Cruises in Fiji

lake wisconsin cruises

Fiji's reputation for being one of the friendliest nations now extends to its cruise offerings, as it's the setting for the friendliest expedition ship, the 114-passenger MS Caledonian Sky. This recent addition to the Captain Cook Cruises fleet is crewed by locals, which means one thing — service with ebullient smiles and no end of welcoming bulas, the Fijian greeting for hello.

The seven-night Southern Lau itinerary takes in an archipelago, far from the high-end island resorts and "flop and drop'' beach holidays of more popular Denarau and Viti Levu. Each day brings two stops at an island or coral reef and visits to local villages and schools. Snorkel, dive with a qualified instructor, kayak or head out in the glass-bottomed boat. Island visits celebrate Fiji's vibrant culture with traditional dances and lovo feasts, banquets cooked using an earth oven.

Can't get enough? Book a two-week itinerary to trace the migratory path of the Tongan Tribe, the last humpback whales to be hunted. It's a rare opportunity to witness these majestic cetaceans soar and belly-flop into the air before blowing a final, salty kiss farewell.

Wisconsin’s national marine sanctuary is a museum beneath the water. Here’s what to know.

lake wisconsin cruises

What does Wisconsin have in common with the Hawaiian Islands, Florida Keys and California’s Channel Islands?

They all are home to national marine sanctuaries.

The Wisconsin Shipwreck Coast National Marine Sanctuary is one of 15 places in the country that have received the designation from the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration. Marine sanctuaries help to protect underwater resources, like rocky reefs, kelp forests, deep-sea canyons and archaeological sites.

The Lake Michigan sanctuary off Wisconsin's coast is home to dozens of shipwrecks that represent and preserve both a moment frozen in time and a window into the past, said Russ Green, superintendent of Wisconsin’s national marine sanctuary.

Besides being a cool place to experience shipwrecks, the marine sanctuary is an important site for science, tourism and education opportunities.

Here’s what to know about Wisconsin’s marine sanctuary.

More: More than 3 times as many shipwrecks were discovered in Lake Michigan last year as ever before. Why?

There are 36 known shipwrecks in the sanctuary

The sanctuary covers 962 square miles, spanning Kewaunee, Manitowoc, Sheboygan and Ozaukee counties. It’s co-managed by NOAA and the state.

There are 36 known shipwrecks within the sanctuary boundaries that sank between the 1830s and 1930, 27 of which are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It’s believed that there are another 60 that have yet to be discovered.

Cold freshwater has kept many of these shipwrecks virtually intact, Green said, and "by being good stewards of these historic sites, we’re both protecting this legacy and ensuring that we can share it with the public."

In total, there are an estimated 780 shipwrecks in Wisconsin's Lake Michigan waters, and roughly 250 have been discovered, said Tamara Thomsen, maritime archaeologist with the Wisconsin Historical Society.

More: How many shipwrecks are in Lake Michigan, and what happens to them?

Visitors can paddle out to shipwrecks

According to Green, one of the best places to paddle out to see a shipwreck is at Point Beach State Forest in Two Rivers.

The Lake Michigan Water Trail is an interactive map that people can use to locate shipwrecks off Rawley Point in Point Beach. Green said that the sand is pretty dynamic there, but the wreck of the Major Anderson is often uncovered. Just north of the Park is the steamer Continental , the engine of which is just below the surface. The sanctuary also plans to install buoys this season at several shipwrecks so people can find them easier and explore.

As always, follow safe paddling practices as well as Wisconsin and U.S. Coast Guard laws.

And if you don't feel like heading out into the water, people can "visit" shipwrecks through 3D models sanctuary staff have created.

It took six years to get the designation

Wisconsin’s shipwreck sanctuary became the 15th and most recent site to receive the designation in 2021. And after six years of effort the site received the designation, but not without some political back-and-forth .

The process of designating Wisconsin’s Lake Michigan coast as a sanctuary began in 2015 after former Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker asked the federal government to consider it. Walker rescinded the nomination after former President Donald Trump signed an executive order that prevented the naming of most new national marine sanctuaries in order to expand offshore drilling for oil and gas.

Gov. Tony Evers asked NOAA to renew the proposal shortly after he took office in 2019.

Putting Wisconsin on the map was a community-led effort with the vision of connecting the Great Lakes' rich maritime history with efforts onshore to boost tourism and recreation, Green said.

The sanctuary has become a research hotspot

The marine sanctuary designation also helps support conservation and science efforts, which is very much needed in the Great Lakes, where less than 15% of the lakebeds have been mapped.

Wisconsin’s site is one of the most well-understood places in all of Lake Michigan, according to Green.

NOAA has begun mapping the lake bottom using sonar, which Green said is like painting a picture using sound. Along with diving to the lake bottom, scientists are using technology , like robots, that can explore and characterize shipwrecks and other underwater features.

There is even a map tool where people can explore parts of the lakebed in the sanctuary.

People used the sanctuary waters for thousands of years long before European settlers arrived, and the lake was integral to Indigenous peoples for trade, communication and sustenance, Green said. He hopes continued investigation and discoveries will unveil artifacts that represent this long history.

The Wisconsin site is one of two in the Great Lakes, for now

The Great Lakes region was an important center for commercial fishing, shipping and shipbuilding as well as during military conflicts. So it’s no wonder there is a lot to find on the bottom of the lakes.

To date, there is one other national marine sanctuary in the Great Lakes. Designated in 2000, the Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary was the first marine sanctuary in the Great Lakes, protecting 4,300 square miles of Lake Huron off Michigan’s northeastern coast.

The area is known as “ Shipwreck Alley ” because it has some of the most treacherous waters and unpredictable weather in the Great Lakes. It is estimated there are roughly 100 shipwrecks in that sanctuary.

NOAA is in the process of designating sites in Lakes Erie and Ontario as well.

The Lake Ontario marine sanctuary would sit off New York’s eastern shore, stretching across more than 1,700 square miles. That site includes 43 known shipwrecks as well as one aircraft.  Lake Erie’s site would encompass 740 square miles off Pennsylvania's shore, and has 35 identified shipwrecks.

Along with being commercial centers, the two sites are also culturally significant to Indigenous nations.

Sights of Elektrostal: the history of the city, what to see, photos and reviews

Elektrostal is a fairly large industrial city, which is located near the Vokhonka River and almost 40-50 km from the eastern part of Moscow. There are a lot of powerful factories here, where many residents of Elektrostal work. They are perfectly combined with the most beautiful green boulevards, streets and parks, bright lawns and flower beds that adorn almost the entire town. It is picturesque due to amazing reservoirs and forests. It is worth learning more about the main attractions of Elektrostal, photos of which are in the article.

The city was founded in 1916 thanks to the construction of a metallurgical plant. Previously, this place was the natural boundary of Calm. To start construction, the labor of local peasants was used. In the middle of 1925 herebuilt the first railway line that connected Elektrostal with Moscow. After the onset of 1938, the village turned into a separate city.

It is noteworthy that during the Great Patriotic War, the Electrostal plants produced ammunition that was needed for victory. In particular, it is worth noting the production of the legendary Katyushas.

A new stage for the factories of the city began after the invention of atomic weapons. The local plant was on the list of the main production facilities of the nuclear industry. This led to the fact that in 1954 the production of fuel was launched, which was used for the operation of nuclear power plants.

In 1963, the cultural center "October" was built, and this was done by the masters of the Novo-Kramatorsky plant, named after Stalin. It featured a spacious auditorium that could seat more than 850 people, as well as a unique revolving stage for actors to change scenery in seconds.

At different times, eminent creative groups performed in this cultural center, as well as the Beryozka ensemble, famous at that time. It is noteworthy that even in our time the cultural center is actively functioning, and the square in front of it is considered the most beautiful place in Elektrostal with fountains operating in the summer. In mid-2013, it received the status of a city of labor and military glory.

There are many numerous monuments in the city that tell about the history of this amazing place: a monument to Nikolai Vtorov -the founder of the famous plant "Elektrostal" near the House of Culture, a monument to Tevosyan - the chief engineer, monuments to M. Gorky and K. Marx, a sculpture "Steelworker", a monument to Korneev - Hero of the Soviet Union, as well as a memorial and a monument to soldiers who died in Afghanistan and on North Caucasus.

This is a fairly large and old factory in the city that specializes in the production of fuel for local gas stations. The plant is part of the structure of the company FC "TVEL" of the state corporation "Rosatom". The General Director of the enterprise is O. L. Sedelnikov.

This plant produces nuclear fuel, which is used by many nuclear power plants, transport power plants and research reactors, not only in Russia, but also in other European countries. The company has quality certificates OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001.

The museum of the plant presents its history, shows old photographs of the streets of the city, there are achievements of workers, as well as photos of significant people, there are many of the most interesting models produced at the machine-building plant. It also stores presentations showing the principles of the enterprise.

This temple - a landmark of Elektrostal - is a single-dome centric church, which is made in the style of Byzantine times. It was erected in the 20th century, in the immediate vicinity of St. Andrew's Church. The temple was designed by T. V. Trubnikov and V. A. Drozdov, according to the developments of which the iconostasis and interior were exactly designed.

The church plays the role of a baptismal church and belongs to the Moscow diocese. The main shrines of the church are the most ancient and valuable icons of Nikandor Gorodnoyezersky and the Great Martyr Panteleimon. In addition, particles of the relics of saints are kept here. Divine services are held in the temple only during religious holidays.

The local park - a landmark of Elektrostal is an ideal place where everyone can stay alone with nature, ride numerous attractions, and also spend time playing slot machines. The park is especially popular in the summer - it is full of families, youth companies and couples in love.

Especially for the summer in 2013, the park was re-planned, which made it possible to accommodate more modern entertainment and interesting playgrounds for young visitors. Swimmers will love the dragon and swans, and trampolines have been installed for more active children.

It is noteworthy that the prices in the local park are quite affordable: the cost of a ticket for various attractions ranges from 30-100 rubles. Today it is called "Wonder Park", and it is divided into a quieter "Quiet Alley" and "Entertainment Alley", where there is an inexpensive cafe, a summer stage, and also quite a lot ofattractions.

sights of electrostal

This cinema is very popular, so it can be called a landmark of Elektrostal. It is located in the shopping center "Elgrad" and consists of 5 spacious halls that can accommodate more than 800 people. To show 2D and 3D films, only modern equipment is used: Dolby Digital Surround EX and MasterImage acoustics, as well as huge screens with a special coating. In all cinema halls, very comfortable conditions for visitors were created: climate control and soft chairs.

In the foyer of the Cinema Gallery there is a play area, a fairly spacious cafe, fast food establishments (Suneki, Tashir-pizza, Rostiks, Kebab-tun, etc.) and popcorn- bar. This is an attractive local leisure center, where the residents of Elektrostal are shown all the latest cinema.

This is a whole complex where you can spend your free time pleasantly and profitably. In addition to the playgrounds, which are fully equipped for playing laser tag and paintball, guests are invited to visit a local cafe where delicious home-cooked dishes are prepared, a banquet menu, karaoke, as well as a relaxing sauna with a warm font.

What do tourists who have visited the city say? It is not tourist, but industrial. Attractions are quite specific, but overall interesting. Tourists were pleased with low prices.

Looking at the photo of the sights of the city of Elektrostal, you may want to go there and spendunforgettable weekend.
