Priority Pass Select

Having access to an airport lounge can make your travel experience a lot easier. Instead of sitting in a bustling terminal waiting area, you can enjoy a private space with free Wi-Fi, food, and drinks.

As a Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholder, you are eligible to enroll in a complimentary Priority Pass Select membership . This gives you access to over 1,400 lounges across 600 airports worldwide.

You must activate the membership after you receive your Chase Sapphire Reserve card in order to use it. You’ll receive a physical Priority Pass membership card in the mail and you can also create a digital membership card .

Priority Pass mobile membership card app

The Priority Pass select membership applies to the primary cardholder plus any authorized users (each authorized user requires an additional $75 annual fee).

Each cardholder (primary or authorized user) can bring in 2 guests free of charge to any Priority Pass lounge , and any additional guests will cost $27 per person per visit. Note that access can be denied if the lounge is at capacity.

These lounges are all independently owned and operated — they come in all shapes and sizes, so to speak. Some lounges offer the ultimate in luxury (including spa treatments), while others are more basic, offering just a place to sit with snacks and drinks.

And some aren’t even lounges at all — the Priority Pass Select membership includes access to select restaurants as well.

Bottom Line: Every Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholder plus any authorized users are able to bring in 2 guests each to a Priority Pass lounge at no charge. Any additional guests will cost $27 per person.

You’ll need to activate the Priority Pass membership that comes with your Chase Sapphire Reserve card. To do this, log in to your Ultimate Rewards account and go to the Card Benefits section. Scroll down until you see Complimentary Airport Lounge Access and follow the prompts to activate your membership.

How to activate your Priority Pass membership via Chase Sapphire Reserve

You’ll receive a physical membership card in the mail, but you can also create a digital membership card that allows you to gain access to lounges using the Priority Pass mobile app.

The Priority Pass mobile app allows you to quickly see what lounges are available. It’s handy to be able to search for a lounge while you’re at the airport.

Priority Pass app

Once you’ve found a lounge, you can click on it for more information about that particular location, including:

  • Opening hours
  • What’s included in the facility (refreshments, alcohol, air conditioning, shower, Wi-Fi, etc.)
  • Location within the airport
  • Any additional conditions of that location, like time limits, age restrictions, and what type of alcohol is included

Hot Tip: Along the bottom of the app you will see a card icon — this will give you access to your digital membership card.

Priority Pass Lounge Locations

Your Priority Pass membership grants you access to over 1,400 lounges across 600 airports around the globe.

The easiest way to find an airport lounge that accepts Priority Pass is to download the mobile app and search for your airport . It’s a quick way to find a lounge while you are traveling.

If you would like to plan out your lounge visits a little more, you can also search on the Priority Pass website. Here, you can input the city you want to search or click on Our Lounges and scroll to the bottom of the page for a list of lounges by region.

Whether you search on the app or online, these lists will give you important information about each lounge location, including:

  • Hours of operation
  • Age restrictions
  • Location specifics
  • Any other entry restrictions

Here’s a quick peek at all of the current Priority Pass lounges in the U.S . These are all independently owned and operated, so they are subject to change at any time. And remember, any of these lounges can deny access if they are at capacity.

Hot Tip: To see all of the most desirable locations, check out our guides to the best Priority Pass lounges in the U.S. and the best international Priority Pass lounges .

Priority Pass Restaurants

You might notice that some “lounges” are actually just restaurants that are open to the public. In this instance, your Priority Pass membership will give you a credit to spend at that restaurant .

The cardholder plus 1 guest each gets a $28 credit per person to use for food or drinks.

  • 1 person dining: $28 credit
  • 2 people dining: $56 credit
  • 3+ people dining: $56 credit

You can use the credit for anything on the menu, including alcohol (excluding to-go orders). If your bill is less than your available credit, you can’t get a cash refund for the difference or use the excess credit towards gratuity.

Hot Tip: Your Priority Pass membership will also give you access to select restaurant locations. These restaurants will accept your Priority Pass and give you a food and beverage credit to use. Most locations will give you a credit of $28 to dine plus an additional $28 for 1 guest.

Right now, there are 30 restaurant locations in the U.S, across 20 airports that accept Priority Pass.

Hot Tip: If you have a Priority Pass membership that came as a benefit on an American Express card, you won’t have access to these restaurants.

Your Priority Pass membership also offers a few deals for airport retail locations. Honestly, they aren’t that impressive — but it’s always good to know when they are available.

From the Priority Pass mobile app, search for your airport. If there are any retail offers, they will be listed under the lounges.

Priority Pass retail offers

After activating your Priority Pass membership through your Chase Sapphire Reserve card, you’ll receive a physical Priority Pass membership card in the mail. You’ll need to show this card along with your boarding pass and ID to gain access to a lounge.

If you download the Priority Pass app, you will also have access to a digital membership card. Most locations will accept this, but it’s always a good idea to carry your physical card with you to avoid getting denied access.

In summary, to access a Priority Pass lounge , you will need the following:

  • Priority Pass membership card (physical)
  • Boarding pass showing an outbound flight on the same day
  • Government-issued ID
  • Priority Pass digital membership card (optional; not accepted at all locations)

Bottom Line: There is a digital membership card available on the Priority Pass mobile app. Most (but not all) locations will accept this in lieu of your physical membership card.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve card is popular for a reason — it offers tons of perks and points-earning opportunities. One of the fantastic perks for travelers is the complimentary Priority Pass Select membership , which grants you access to over 1,400 lounges across 600 airports around the globe.

These lounges vary by location and can offer lots of amenities like free food and drinks, Wi-Fi, workspaces, and even showers in some! In addition to the traditional lounges offered, Priority Pass also gives you discounts at select restaurants so you can save some money on a meal while you are waiting for your flight.

How to access chase sapphire lounges, now open at five airports with more locations opening soon, here's what we know about chase sapphire lounges by the club — and what it takes to get in..

Terms apply to American Express benefits and offers. Visit  americanexpress.com  to learn more.

It turns out Capital One and American Express aren't the only card issuers interested in spoiling their cardholders with luxury airport lounges .

Enter Chase's latest creation — Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club — a new premium travel concept that's now open at Boston Logan International Airport, Hong Kong International Airport and New York's LaGuardia and John F. Kennedy Airports with more locations to follow.

Working in collaboration with Airport Dimensions, the operator behind The Club Airport Lounges, Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club features premium perks such as high-speed Wi-Fi, curated craft cocktails and seasonal menus, a robust library of digital media and relaxing workspaces, all meant to make your airport experience more enjoyable.

Unlike its competitors' lounges, however, you don't necessarily need to have a Chase-issued credit card to get in.

Below, CNBC Select details all the ways to access Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club, plus the cards to consider adding if you want to try one out during your next trip.

What we'll cover

Chase sapphire lounge locations, how to access chase sapphire lounges, best cards with chase sapphire lounge access, bottom line.

In 2021, Chase announced plans to open at least nine airport lounges, but only five locations have opened thus far.

The first Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club opened in Hong Kong in October 2022, in an impressive 11,948-square-foot space with various seating options, artisanal cocktails and locally-inspired food.

Chase's second Sapphire Lounge location in Boston opened in May 2023. It spans 11,640 square feet and features rest pods, shower rooms, massage chairs, made-to-order and ready-to-eat dishes and a taproom with local beers.

Then, in January 2024, Chase opened two Sapphire lounges in New York — one at LaGuardia Airport (LGA) and another at John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) that's jointly operated with Etihad Airways. The LGA lounge spans 21,800 square feet across two floors with unique amenities like a retro-inspired arcade, complimentary facial treatments and Chase's first-ever Reserve Suites. The JFK lounge is on the smaller side at just 7,600 square feet but still boasts key features like made-to-order food and drinks, as well as shower suites.

In March 2024, Chase opened another lounge that it's managing and operating on behalf Etihad Airways at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD). It measures about 5,200 square feet across two floors and features amenities like made-to-order food and drinks, shower suites and a children's area.

Here's the full list of Chase Sapphire Lounges that are currently open:

  • Hong Kong International Airport,  near Gate 40 on Level 7 in Terminal 1's West Hall; passengers traveling through the East Hall can still access it via a 10-15 minute walk or by taking the shuttle; Open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Boston-Logan International Airport,  between Gate B40 and B39; Open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • New York – LaGuardia Airport:  located in Terminal B in the direction of gates 41 to 59; Open daily from 4:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  • New York - John F. Kennedy Airport , located in Terminal 4 post-security in the Mezzanine on Level 4 located above Gate A2; Open daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.
  • Washington Dulles International Airport,  Concourse A near gate A14; Open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Additional lounges are expected to follow suit sometime in 2024:

  • Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport: Terminal 4 South 1
  • Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport: Terminal 1 near C Gates
  • San Diego International Airport: Terminal 2 West
  • Philadelphia International Airport: Terminal D to E connector

It's interesting to note that several of these airports already have — or will soon have — competitor lounges. Hong Kong International Airport, Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and New York City's LGA and JFK airports, for instance, each have an American Express Centurion Lounge , while Dulles in Washington, D.C. has a Capital One Lounge .

Each Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club features details and designs that were created especially for that particular location, primarily inspired by the city the airport is in.

You can expect signature cocktails, comfortable work and relaxation spaces, curated food and beverage menus featuring seasonal and locally inspired options, as well as airport lounge standards such as complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, televisions and access to local newspapers and magazines. Free food and refreshments catered to a range of dietary preferences including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan lifestyles will also be available to lounge guests, as will a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Chase Sapphire Terrace

In March 2023, Chase opened the Sapphire Terrace in Austin. This isn't a full-fledged Chase Sapphire lounge as it's smaller than other lounges and has stricter entry requirements — it's only accessible to Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardholders. It features an indoor-outdoor space with free drinks and grab-and-go food.

  • Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, near Gate 1 on the mezzanine level of the Barbara Jordan Terminal; Open daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardholders who have activated the card's Priority Pass™ membership receive unlimited access to any Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club.

Passengers booked on a same-day flight are allowed to enter the lounge up to three hours before it's scheduled to depart. Children ages two and under get in free, as do up to two guests per visit (additional guests will have to pay a $27 fee to enter).

If you have a Priority Pass membership but don't have a Sapphire Reserve card, you'll receive one free entry to a Sapphire Lounge per calendar year. For every visit after the first, you'll pay a fee. The Hong Kong location is the only exception, in that Priority Pass members enjoy unlimited access.

It's also important to note that because the Chase Lounge at JFK is jointly operated with Etihad Airways, premium passengers on the airline also receive access. This includes those flying Etihad business or first class, as well as Etihad Guest Platinum and Gold elite members.

Free or discounted access

Travelers who have the Chase Sapphire Reserve® credit card can use their included Priority Pass Select membership benefit to access Chase Sapphire Lounges by The Club, as well as more than 1,500 associated airport lounges worldwide.

Simply enroll with Priority Pass once you're officially a Reserve cardholder and you'll be able to enter by flashing your physical membership card — most locations will also accept your digital membership card to gain entry.

Chase Sapphire Lounges (2024): Airport Locations, Access, Cost, & Credit Cards

Chase Sapphire Lounges Guide

Airport lounges are a growing trend as passengers with long layovers or who arrive at the airport early want a place to relax in privacy, enjoy a warm meal, and access other perks. The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club is one of the newest networks available to eligible Chase members.

We look at the Chase Sapphire Lounge benefits, locations, and how to visit them for free.

Table of Contents

What is Chase Sapphire Lounge?

The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club has a small yet growing global footprint. Currently, there is one location in Hong Kong, another in Boston, and five additional locations are under construction.

Free unlimited membership is exclusive to select Chase premium credit cards, with the Chase Sapphire Reserve® being the easiest to qualify for. Priority Pass members receive one lounge pass per year (for U.S. lounges), but discounted access isn’t available to Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card members. The general public can buy day passes on the date of travel.

This private network is similar to American Express Centurion Lounge and Capital One Lounge programs, where you need a qualifying travel credit card to visit. This network is converting several Priority Pass lounge locations, so it’s not exactly starting from scratch as an independent network.

Lounge benefits include:

  • Complimentary wifi
  • Curated artwork, including local artists
  • Local food and beverages
  • Family room
  • Nursing room
  • Private bathrooms with showers
  • Working spaces

You may consider this lounge network an alternative to the general lounge programs that can be more susceptible to overcrowding as it’s too easy to enter. Additionally, if you have access to several networks, a Chase Sapphire Lounge may can be in a nearby terminal and have desirable amenities.

Who Can Use Chase Sapphire Lounge?

There are three ways to access this lounge:

  • Have a qualifying Chase credit card
  • Are a Priority Pass member
  • Buy a one-time day pass

Holding a participating credit card is better as you can have unlimited visits and bring two additional guests for free (unlimited visitors with the The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card).

Credit Cards with Chase Sapphire Lounge Access

Three rewards credit cards currently offer Sapphire Lounge access:

  • Chase Sapphire Reserve
  • J.P. Morgan Reserve
  • The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card

Of these cards, the Sapphire Reserve is the easiest to qualify for as the J.P. Morgan Reserve requires being a Chase Private Client member and having at least $10 million in qualifying managed assets. Further, the The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card is no longer accepting new applications.

The only prerequisite is activating your Priority Pass Select lounge membership before visiting.

Guest Policy by Credit Card

Primary cardholders, authorized users, and up to two guests can visit for free with the Sapphire Reserve or J.P. Morgan Reserve. Each additional guest is $27 per visit. There is no additional charge for children under two.

Ritz-Carlton cardholders can bring in unlimited guests. If you still have this hotel credit card, you may decide to keep it for this perk and several additional benefits that most new premium credit cards no longer offer.

The Vacationer Tip

Those holding the Chase Sapphire Reserve, J.P. Morgan Reserve, and The Ritz-Carlton Credit Card now have an advantage over most Amex Platinum cardholders. American Express requires Amex Platinum cardholders to spend at least $75,000 in a calendar year to bring free guests to Centurion Lounges. Those holding the three previously mentioned cards can bring free guests (two guests for Sapphire Reserve and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardholders and unlimited guests for Ritz-Carlton cardholders) to Chase Sapphire lounges.

Priority Pass Members

Priority Pass members without one of the qualifying credit cards listed above receive one free visit to a U.S.-based Chase Sapphire Lounge each calendar year (there are no visit limits for international lounges). After the first free visit, Priority Pass members will be charged $75 for additional lounge visits. You can purchase an inclusive or Pay As You Go membership or use one of the best credit cards for airport lounge access .

That means you can easily visit a Sapphire Lounge by activating your Priority Pass membership through one of the following credit cards:

  • The Business Platinum Card® from American Express
  • Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card
  • Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card
  • Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card
  • The Platinum Card® from American Express

You are probably asking why Priority Members have access but Sapphire Preferred and other Chase cardholders don’t have discounted access. The simple answer is that the Sapphire Lounges are revamped Priority Pass lounge locations primarily catering to Sapphire Reserve members.

It’s important to point out that Priority Pass members can be denied entry if the lounge is at or near capacity, so eligible Chase cardholders can still visit the lounge.

Guest Policy

The first visit for the Priority Pass member is free each year. Subsequent visits and guests are subject to a $75 fee.

One-Day Pass

All remaining guests without a premium Chase credit card or a qualifying Priority Pass membership can visit at $100 per person (subject to availability).

In peak periods, general travelers receive the lowest access priority. Other networks have a similar guest access policy to reserve spots for their most loyal members.

Chase Sapphire Lounge Access Policy

All eligible guests can enter a lounge up to three hours before their scheduled departure. To enter, show your physical or digital Priority Pass card and a valid boarding pass. You cannot enter after landing at your arrival airport and don’t have a connecting flight to catch. Several of the most popular networks have similar policies.

That being said, Chase is flexible with more extended layovers if the lounge visit is at an intermediate location. Each situation is assessed on a case-by-case basis, and you will need to speak with the concierge to see how soon or how long you can visit.

Children under age two are free to visit any lounges, and an adult must accompany all minors.

In busy periods, any available spots go to Sapphire Reserve, J.P. Morgan Reserve, and Ritz-Carlton Credit Card members first and Priority Pass members second. General passengers can purchase remaining spaces at $100 per guest (two years or older).

Future Chase Sapphire Lounge Locations

There are a handful of planned Sapphire Lounge locations that will open in the future. You can anticipate similar dining and wellness amenities as the current locations with a flavor of local inspiration.

  • Las Vegas (LAS)
  • New York City (LGA)
  • Philadelphia (PHL)
  • Phoenix (PHX)
  • San Diego (SAN)

Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport (LAS)

This lounge will be located in Terminal C near the entrance gates. The location will be approximately 4,500 square feet and easy for Southwest Airlines passengers to reach.

New York LaGuardia Airport (LGA)

The New York Chase Sapphire Lounge is opening in Terminal B with approximately 12,000 square feet. Its operating hours are from 7 am to 11 pm daily.

Philadelphia International Airport (PHL)

The PHL Chase Sapphire Lounge will be located in the connector between Terminal D and Terminal E at 20,000 square feet.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)

This location is relatively small at 3,500 square feet. It will be located in Terminal 4.

San Diego International Airport (SAN)

The Chase Sapphire Lounge at San Diego International Airport is one of the network’s largest at 20,000 square feet. It is accessible from Terminal 2 West.

Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD)

As a potential bonus, public reports indicate that Chase may build a Sapphire Lounge at Dulles International Airport to serve Washington, D.C. passengers. The financial institution has yet to make a public statement and doesn’t include the location on the list of upcoming lounges. As a result, it’s best to take a wait-and-see approach at the moment.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve lets the primary or authorized user and two guests visit Priority Pass, Sapphire Lounge, and Sapphire Terrace locations at no extra cost. This is the only Sapphire card to offer airport lounge access.

No, Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders do not have any complimentary or discount airport lounge benefits. Members can buy Sapphire Lounge day passes at the front desk at $100 per person (age two and under are free) but cannot buy entry to Sapphire Terrace locations.

Day passes are available to the domestic and international Sapphire Lounge locations at $100 per guest, with children under age two being free. Priority Pass members get one free visit per calendar year, but subsequent visits and all guest passes cost $75 per person per visit. You won’t need to buy a day pass if you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve, J.P. Morgan Reserve, or Ritz Carlton Credit Card.

There are a total of seven Sapphire Lounge locations, although only Boston and Hong Kong are currently open: Boston (BOS) Hong Kong (HKG) Las Vegas (LAS) New York-LaGuardia (LGA) Philadelphia (PHL) Phoenix (PHX) San Diego (SAN) There is the possibility that a Sapphire Lounge will open at Washington Dulles (IAD) just outside the nation’s capital. Additionally, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) in Texas has a Sapphire Terrace with basic lounge amenities. Travelers can find current locations using the Priority Pass app or website. Additionally, Sapphire Reserve, J.P. Morgan Reserve, and Ritz Carlton Credit Card members can find lounge and terrace locations using the Chase mobile app.

No, you will need to check in at the lounge’s front desk to verify your credentials and upcoming flight departure time. Depending on current capacity, premium cardholders gain entry first. Priority Pass members and general guests have secondary priority.

Visitors can enter a lounge up to three hours before the initial departure or a connecting flight is scheduled to depart. Passengers with an extended layover might be able to enter sooner than the standard three-hours-before-boarding threshold but must inquire with the front desk.

The Vacationer’s Final Thoughts

Having more airport lounge options makes it easier for frequent flyers to improve their airport experience. Now that many cards offer complimentary access to airline-operated and independent networks, credit card-specific lounges are becoming more popular to avoid overcrowding.

The Chase Sapphire Lounge network is small but growing with planned locations at some of the nation’s busiest airports for long-haul flights.

This network can be worth a visit if you have the Chase Sapphire Reserve® or have one free visit through an existing Priority Pass membership, but the entry fee can be expensive if you cannot visit for free.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve® is one of the best travel rewards credit cards on the market today, partly due to its generous airport lounge benefit. Cardholders pay a $550 annual fee but receive access to two different lounge networks: Priority Pass (enrollment required) and Chase’s Sapphire Lounge by The Club.

While the Sapphire network has just three open locations as of the time of writing, the Priority Pass Select membership offers access to over 1,400 lounges worldwide. This benefit makes the Sapphire Reserve a popular card for those seeking an upgraded travel experience.

But visiting an airport lounge isn’t just about luxury; it’s also about convenience. Airports are loud, busy environments and concessions are marked up substantially. By visiting an airline lounge (free of charge), you can save money on food and get a quiet place to relax before your flight. What you need to know about Chase Sapphire Reserve lounge access

Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders have access to various airport lounges around the world. These include lounges in both the Sapphire and Priority Pass networks.

There are currently just three open Sapphire Lounge locations: Boston (BOS), Hong Kong (HKG) and New York’s LaGuardia Airport (LGA), plus a Sapphire Terrace at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). Chase has several other lounges in the works, so there will soon be more options.

Priority Pass Select provides a broader selection, with over 1,400 lounges, restaurants and retail stores worldwide. If you can’t find a Priority Pass lounge at an airport, chances are there’s a restaurant where you can claim a dining credit or a grab-and-go spot where you’ll get a discount on snacks.

Priority Pass access

For Priority Pass Select lounge access, you’ll need to activate your Priority Pass Select membership. You can do this through your Chase Ultimate Rewards® account, after which you’ll receive a membership card in the mail. Rather than carrying the card around, you can simply download the Priority Pass app and create a login.

When you’re ready to visit a Priority Pass lounge or participating restaurant, simply open the app and show the attendant your QR code and boarding pass to scan. If you’re using your Priority Pass benefit at a restaurant, be sure to let the server know ahead of time so they can apply your credit to the bill. Typically, restaurant credits are limited to $28 per person and most establishments allow one additional guest, doubling the credit to $56 per visit. It’s worth noting that this perk is not available on all cards that offer Priority Pass Select membership.

Priority Pass locations

Priority Pass has over 1,400 airport lounges worldwide, with Asia holding the most lounges at over 440. Some of the most popular airports in the world have Priority Pass lounges. These include San Francisco International (SFO), London Heathrow (LHR), Tokyo Narita (NRT) and Dubai (DXB).

Priority Pass also has over 30 restaurants at airports in the U.S. and over 40 abroad, where you can use your dining credit. Members typically receive a $28 credit for themselves and one additional guest. Examples of popular Priority Pass restaurants include Landry’s Seafood in Houston (IAH), Yankee Pier in San Francisco (SFO) and Bobby Van’s Steakhouse in New York (JFK). In Buenos Aires (EZE or AEP), you can visit the Outback Steakhouse, while travelers in Brisbane (BNE) can visit the Corretto Café & Bar.

Chase Sapphire lounge access

To gain complimentary access to a Sapphire Lounge, you need a qualifying credit card and a valid boarding pass. You can access the lounge up to three hours before your flight. Qualifying credit cards include:

  • Chase Sapphire Reserve® .
  • J.P. Morgan Reserve * The information for the J.P. Morgan Reserve has been collected independently by Blueprint. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer. (by invitation only).
  • The Ritz-Carlton Credit Card (which is no longer open to new applicants).

Sapphire Reserve and J.P. Morgan Reserve cardholders can bring up to two complimentary guests into the lounge. Access for additional guests will cost $27 per person, though children under the age of 2 get complimentary access. Ritz-Carlton cardmembers are allowed to bring unlimited guests with them free of charge.

If you don’t have a Chase Sapphire Reserve card, but you do have a Priority Pass membership, you can still access a Sapphire Lounge for free once per calendar year.

Sapphire Lounge locations

Chase currently has three Sapphire Lounges — at Boston Logan Airport (BOS), Hong Kong International (HKG) and New York’s LaGuardia Airport — plus a Sapphire Terrace at Austin-Bergstrom (AUS). These spaces offer serenity away from busy terminals, where you can enjoy complimentary drinks and chef-curated meals.

The Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club is still a fairly new concept, though it’s steadily expanding. Additional locations are planned for Las Vegas (LAS), Philadelphia (PHL), Phoenix (PHX) and San Diego (SAN).

Comparing lounge access perks of Chase Sapphire Reserve to other cards

If you’re a frequent traveler, airport lounge access is probably a must-have perk as you evaluate the best credit card to accompany you on your adventures. The Chase Sapphire Reserve’s benefit is more comprehensive than some cards but less competitive than others. Cardholders get access to both the Priority Pass and Chase lounge network, making it a well-rounded choice.

While The Platinum Card® from American Express has a wider lounge network, which includes Centurion and Escape lounges, Sapphire Reserve cardholders have one significant advantage: access to dining credits at select restaurants in the Priority Pass network.

The Sapphire Reserve is the only card aside from the Citi Prestige® card (no longer open to new applicants) that’s still offering dining credits as part of its Priority Pass Select benefit. American Express and Capital One both dropped this benefit in recent years. Dining credits can come in handy when airport lounges are too crowded or don’t offer decent meal options. You can visit some fantastic restaurants and receive an up to $28 credit for yourself and one additional guest.

The Sapphire Reserve’s lounge benefit is superior to that of the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card * The information for the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card has been collected independently by Blueprint. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer. , which provides Priority Pass Select membership upon enrollment without the dining credit and access to Capital One lounges. Capital One has a much smaller lounge network than Chase, with just one location at Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and two others in the works.

The Chase Sapphire Reserve® and Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card are two of the best travel cards available, thanks to the valuable Chase Ultimate Rewards points they earn, the travel protections they offer, and their valuable travel credits, which reset annually. Those earnings and benefits are often considered best in class for high-fee and low-fee travel credit cards, respectively.

However, the Platinum Card® from American Express beats Chase—by far—as the best credit card for airport lounge access, thanks mainly to Amex’s collection of highly coveted Centurion Lounges. To up its lounge game—and in the spirit of competition—Chase announced in June 2021 plans for its own collection of branded airport lounges, accessible to Reserve cardholders. One year later, details began to emerge on the arrival of those Chase airport lounges—dubbed Chase Sapphire Lounge by the Club. In October 2022, the first Chase Sapphire Lounge opened in Hong Kong. Then the smaller-scale Chase Sapphire Terrace at Austin airport opened in March 2023, followed by the first full Chase Sapphire Lounge in the United States at Boston Logan International Airport in May. Here, details on these new Chase-branded lounges, plans for future ones (including where they’ll open), plus cardholder accessibility.

Chase Sapphire Lounge by the Club

In late October 2022, the first Chase Sapphire Lounge by the Club opened in Hong Kong airport in the West Hall of Terminal 1 (near gate 40). The nearly 12,000-square-foot lounge is a redesign and rebrand of the Club Lounge that existed in the space pre-COVID. The new version of the lounge has snazzy dining pods, plenty of sleek-yet-comfy couches, Asian-forward dining menus, a curated wine list, fast Wi-Fi, and more.

In May 2023, the United States opened its first Chase Sapphire Lounge by the Club at Boston Logan International Airport . Located in the airport’s recently unveiled Terminal B to C Connector, between gates B40 and B39, this lounge measures a generous 11,640 square feet and has plenty of nooks for preflight relaxation and layover refueling.

Future Chase-branded lounges are planned for several more U.S. airports. While design details are scarce and exact dates unknown, consensus in the points blogosphere is that Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX) is next and opening later this year.

We do know with certainty that Chase plans to open at least seven more airport lounges. It has revealed the locations of five more so far. They are:

  • Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW), located in Terminal D
  • Las Vegas (LAS), located in Terminal 1, C Gates
  • New York (LGA), located in Terminal B
  • Phoenix (PHX), located in Terminal 4 South 1
  • San Diego (SAN), located in Terminal 2 West

Besides full-scale lounges, Chase has also launched a new concept, Chase Sapphire Terrace, a smaller lounge alternative. The first terrace opened on March 20, 2023, in Austin, Texas, at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) near Gate 1, where Delta Air Lines regularly departs. The terrace is a transitional indoor-outdoor space of nearly 5,000 square feet with southbound runway views and shuffleboard outside and eye-catching art by local muralist Rex Hamilton inside. Visitors can enjoy complimentary grab-and-go snack selections plus beverages, including local favorites like cider from Austin Eastciders and beer from (512) Brewing Company.

The Sapphire Terrace at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport offers fresh air and southbound runway views.

What to expect at future Chase Sapphire airport lounges

Chase’s foray into the airport lounge arena is a collaboration with Airport Dimensions, which currently operates the existing airport lounge group, “The Club.” (Hence, the name Chase Sapphire Lounge by the Club.) “The Club” lounges are currently in 16 U.S. airports and two U.K. airports and are accessible to Priority Pass members. Having visited several existing locations of “The Club” and finding them just meh (or standard Priority Pass fare, shall we say), we initially approached the Chase-Club partnership with trepidation. However, Chase has stated that its lounges “offer a fresh approach to the lounge experience,” indicating its newcomers shall be more elevated than current locations of “The Club.” Indeed, the Hong Kong debut is a testament to this, and it’s anticipated that the upcoming Chase lounges will include facilities of a higher-end lounge, such as showers and wellness areas in addition to appealing food and beverage offerings.

In terms of lounge size, current plans range from the boutique-size 3,500-square-foot lounge in Phoenix to the more generously spaced 12,000-square-foot lounge in Boston.

How to access these new Chase Sapphire airport lounges

The Chase Sapphire Terrace is exclusive to holders of the Chase Sapphire Reserve and J.P. Morgan Reserve Card. You’ll need your card to enter and can bring two guests, free of charge.

The entire new network of Chase Sapphire Lounges by the Club will be part of the Priority Pass network. Chase Sapphire Reserve® provides cardholders with Priority Pass Select membership, meaning with certainty that Reserve cardholders have access. That said, a Reserve Card alone is not enough for entry; a Priority Pass needs to be shown.

However, Priority Pass Select membership and access to the network’s 1,300-plus lounges is a benefit of numerous other high-fee cards, too, including Capital One Venture X Rewards Card ($395 annual fee), Chase Sapphire Reserve® ($550 annual fee), Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant® American Express® Card ($650 annual fee, see rates and fees ), and the Platinum Card from American Express ($695 annual fee, see rates and fees ).

Typically, Priority Pass members can enter lounges on their flight date, regardless of airline or class flown and bring two guests, free of charge. At the new Boston and Hong Kong lounges, this still holds true for Priority Pass holders with a Chase Sapphire Reserve. However, Priority Pass members through other credit cards or outright paid membership will be able to enter a Sapphire Lounge by the Club location only once per calendar year at no cost (with no guests). Any subsequent visit (or guest) will be charged an entry fee.

Note that Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders do not have access to the lounge.

This article was originally published in 2022; it was updated on November 3 2023, with current information. While the offers mentioned above are accurate at the time of publication, they are subject to change at any time, and may have changed or may no longer be available.

In a push to compete with Capital One lounges and Centurion Lounges from American Express , Chase is opening its own lounges at eight airports worldwide.

The Hong Kong and Boston Chase Sapphire lounge locations were the first to open, and a third spot is entering the scene: As of January 2024, the Chase Sapphire Lounge at New York’s LaGuardia Airport has opened its doors. We got a look inside during a press tour.

Here is what you can expect when you visit this two-level Chase lounge at New York-LGA.

Getting to the Sapphire Lounge LaGuardia

To get to the Chase Sapphire Lounge in Terminal B, pass through security and turn right. Go past the colorful falling water fountain. At the end of the concourse, you’ll find the entrance to the Sapphire Lounge, next to the Centurion Lounge entrance.

Take the elevator down to the ground floor to enter the lounge.

» Learn more: Centurion Lounge at New York-LaGuardia

Hours of operation

The Sapphire Lounge at LaGuardia is open from 4:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. daily. The private Reserve Suites are open from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Sapphire Lounge by The Club at LaGuardia beats out many of its competitors on square footage alone. At 21,850 square feet, this massive Sapphire Lounge can fit a maximum of 269 people. The Centurion Lounge next door comes in at less than half the size by square footage.

There are two levels. The lower level has seating areas, play areas (not just for kids), relaxation rooms and the main dining area and bar.

Ascend the set of stairs located to one side of the center bar and you’ll find yourself in what Chase staffers called “The Perch.” This mezzanine area features more seating and tables, a refreshment station and access to the Reserve Suites: three reservation-only rooms available to groups who want more privacy than the lounge affords.

chase travel lounge locations

The theme of trees and greenery runs throughout, with several large “tree trunks” breaking up space on both the first and second levels. The pervasive woodgrain, mid-century furniture and colorful, abstract art on the tambour panel walls gives the feeling of walking into a particularly chic rainforest. There’s even a canopy of plants lining the railings of the upper-level mezzanine.

The womb chairs and light, oak-colored wood are in line with current design trends. Yet, the lounge has an air of timelessness that feels sophisticated but fun — falling somewhere between the retrofuturism of the TWA Hotel at JFK and the intentional whimsy of a hip coworking space. Elevated furnishings can be found in the by-reservation private suites, but more on that later.

The lounge doesn't have a lot of windows because of its location within the airport. However, even without natural light, there’s not a spot in the lounge that feels underlit. The sconces and variety of other lighting fixtures are a delightful detail.

chase travel lounge locations

Throughout the lounge, you’ll find touches of New York City, whether it’s a book of Bill Cunningham photos on the shelf or a series of photos featuring matchbooks from iconic New York restaurants like The Bitter End.

Seating areas on the lower level

chase travel lounge locations

The first floor of the lounge features plenty of space for work, relaxation, dining and even a little play. Cushy couches and chairs are scattered throughout.

A backlit, water vapor fireplace provides ambience in a more work-oriented section of the lower level where guests will also find two-person booths and a private phone room.

chase travel lounge locations

No need to worry about keeping your devices charged — there are outlets galore embedded in furniture, walls, tables and the floor.

Photo booth and arcade

On top of the areas for working or relaxing, there are a few rooms dedicated entirely to play. One is a photo booth that guests can use to snap photos with their traveling companions. Photos can’t be printed, but guests can have a digital copy sent to their email.

chase travel lounge locations

The photo booth doubles as an entrance to what Chase staff referred to as “the speakeasy” — a hidden arcade room featuring a pinball machine, tabletop shuffleboard and a jukebox. While there’s no drink service in the speakeasy, staffers indicated that there might be someday.

Children’s playroom

chase travel lounge locations

Families can use an enclosed playroom on the lower level without having to worry about disrupting other lounge guests.

Nursing room

chase travel lounge locations

A nursing room featuring a sink and changing table is available for use by families in addition to a dedicated changing room for those with babies.

The Reserve Suites

The Reserve Suites are three rooms that can be booked within the lounge that offer groups a private seating and entertainment area, access to fully-stocked showers and an upgraded menu. The privacy comes at a premium though.

Chase Sapphire Reserve® cardholders can reserve one of the two eight-person suites and one four-person suite. The eight-person suites feature a movable wall between and can be booked together for use by up to 12 people.

Suites are available in three-hour slots. Each of the eight-person suites costs $3,000 to reserve (or $6,000 to combine the two suites) and the four-person suite is $2,200 for a reservation slot. You must book suites through the Chase mobile app at least 72 hours in advance.

So what does roughly $1,000 per hour get you?

chase travel lounge locations

In addition to private showers stocked with bathrobes and high-end toiletries from Oribe and Augustinus Bader, guests get access to a personal lounge staffer and a private menu from the New York restaurant Jeffrey's Grocery.

chase travel lounge locations

Menu highlights include a hefty lobster roll and the Plateau le LaGuardia, a two-tiered tower featuring king crab legs, shrimp cocktail and a variety of tinned seafood. The suite-exclusive wine list is curated by New York City wine bar Parcelle and each of the suites includes caviar service in its price.

chase travel lounge locations

In the sitting area of each suite, there’s a beautifully incorporated TV on the wall that comes with a PlayStation 5 for guests. The TV can be turned off, leaving the design element of a stark, glossy black circle on the wall rather than a blank TV — a subtle touch that’s in line with the elevated feel of these private suites.

chase travel lounge locations

One of the few windows in the lounge is in the four-person suite, providing a near-panoramic view of The Perch and lower level of the lounge; though, there’s a curtain for privacy should you prefer it.

Meditation pods and treatment rooms

If you want to luxuriate a little but don’t want to shell out for the suites with their private showers, stop by the wellness area and treat yourself to some spa time.

The ordeal of engaging with commercial air travel can be more than a little de-centering. If you feel like you need some time to refocus and quiet your mind, the lounge offers two meditation pods, which can be booked in 30-minute slots via the Chase app or the QR codes found throughout the lounge. Meditation pod reservations are complimentary.

chase travel lounge locations

You can also book a free spa treatment, such as jade rolls and oxygen blasts, on-site on a first-come-first-served basis. The private treatment rooms are staffed by estheticians and feature products from New York facial bar Face Haus.

Each spa guest can also snag a free travel kit of skincare products from Face Haus.

chase travel lounge locations

There are several bathroom stalls in the men’s room and women’s room on the first floor and an all-gender restroom on the mezzanine.

Cold plates and made-to-order meals

At the back of the lounge’s lower level is the main dining area. The kitchen serves breakfast (4:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.) and all-day fare (11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.) with menus featuring more typical lounge options alongside special, made-to-order dishes from Joseph Leonard, a West Village bistro.

chase travel lounge locations

During breakfast and regular service, cold and hot plates are available at the buffet counter. For breakfast, guests can expect the usual fare like pastries, fruit, yogurt, eggs, pancakes and French toast. Made-to-order options — including omelets, egg and cheese baos, and vegan spinach bowls — can be ordered by scanning the QR codes found at every table.

chase travel lounge locations

All-day food choices include Korean fried chicken bites, pumpkin muhammara, grilled cheese and made-to-order dishes like burgers or seared salmon over braised leeks. The latter items punched a fair bit above the lounge food weight class, retaining the restaurant quality you’d expect from a curated menu.

A selection of sweets is also available at the buffet, including lemon squares, chocolate chip cookies and mini chocolate bites.

chase travel lounge locations

Situated amid the dining space and seating areas is a circular bar, beautifully appointed with white stone countertops, mauve barstools and brass accents. Chase teamed up with New York mixologists Apotheke for locally-inspired cocktails.

The cocktail menu includes drinks exclusive to the LaGuardia lounge, like The Blackburn’s Sour — a berry-forward rum drink named for one of the first passengers to disembark at LaGuardia when it opened in 1939 — and a signature cocktail that you’ll find at all Sapphire Lounge locations, fittingly and simply called Sapphire.

Other standouts include the Red Eye, an interesting take on the all-too-familar espresso martini that takes things in a more refreshing direction with the addition of black cherry.

Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin airports to get Chase Sapphire lounge facilities

Ryan Smith

If you live in Texas and have the Chase Sapphire Reserve , you're getting access to two additional airport lounge facilities. That's because Chase is opening a facility in Austin soon and because the Dallas-Fort Worth airport governing board voted to approve a lounge there.

For context, the first Chase Sapphire lounge is open in the Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) , with plans for nine additional lounges in the U.S. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) will join that list, and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) will get a Sapphire Terrace — which is not a traditional lounge, meaning another lounge location is forthcoming.

Here's what we know about these upcoming locations for Chase Sapphire lounges.

Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Sapphire lounge details

The DFW airport's governing board discussed the Sapphire Lounge at its Feb. 9 meeting (found on page 74 of the meeting agenda ). The board voted to approve the Sapphire Lounge in Terminal D, according to a spokesperson for the board.

chase travel lounge locations

The lease term would last for 10 years and would provide DFW with an annual minimum guarantee of $6.45 million — with a 3% increase each year. Once it opens, the lounge will be near the Capital One Lounge at DFW , located near D22, and not far from the Centurion lounge at D12 .

What is the opening date of the Chase Sapphire Lounge at Dallas-Fort Worth?

There's no confirmed date at this time. However, the board meeting documents state that the DFW location would be "one of the first lounges in the U.S." Thus, Chase may be planning to finish the Sapphire lounge at DFW before previously-announced locations in other airports. When we know of a confirmed opening date, we will update this page.

Austin (AUS) Sapphire Terrace facility

Chase upgraded an existing space at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. This space is not a traditional lounge but is named "Sapphire Terrace." This is a combined indoor-outdoor space covering approximately 5,000 square feet. There are complimentary drinks and light bites, as well a variety of seating options both inside and outside.

chase travel lounge locations

Chase Sapphire Reserve cardholders have complimentary access to the Sapphire Terrace daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and can bring two complimentary guests on each visit. All that's necessary for access is showing your Sapphire Reserve card.

What is the opening date of the Chase Sapphire Terrace at Austin?

The Sapphire Terrace is now opening. It held a grand opening on March 20 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Access for Sapphire Reserve cardholders started at 10:30 a.m.

Daily operating hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Bottom line

Chase is committed to entering the airport lounge market and to giving American Express Centurion Lounges and Capital One Lounges stiff competition. From the permit applications above, Austin and Dallas-Fort Worth look like two additional locations for Sapphire facilities.

Etihad airways opens second us airport lounge with chase.

The Chase Sapphire Lounge is located in Concourse A.

  • Etihad Airways and Chase collaboratively launched a new lounge at Washington Dulles for premium passengers and Chase credit card holders.
  • The lounge offers made-to-order food, buffet-style options, signature cocktails, and more, spanning 5,200 square feet over two floors.
  • Travelers with Priority Pass membership, especially Chase Sapphire Reserve holders, can access the lounge, while others may purchase entry for $100.

On Tuesday, March 5, the brand-new Chase Sapphire lounge affiliated with Etihad Airways was officially opened. The lounge is located near gate A15 in Concourse A at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) . The airline previously operated a lounge in Washington Dulles in 2013. However, the lounge was closed for several years, and this new space will bring some more life to the concourse.

Etihad lounge at Washington Dulles

The new lounge was opened utilizing a partnership between Chase and its Chase Sapphire credit card. The new lounge is located in Concourse A at Washington Dulles . It is located near gates A14 and A15.

Etihad's lounge is approximately 5,200 square feet in total, which spans over two floors. This is slightly smaller than other lounges at Washington Dulles, per One Mile At A Time . The lounge is advertised as open from 06:00 to 22:00 local time, although the lounge is only accessible within three hours of the traveler's departure time. It also offers the same style of food as other Chase Sapphire Lounges. This includes made-to-order food, ready-to-eat buffet-style food, signature cocktails, and wine, coffee, tea, and other beverage options.

Etihad Airways travelers can enter this lounge for free if they are premium passengers. This includes passengers in either first class or business class. Additionally, Etihad Airways Guest Platinum and Gold passengers have access to this lounge.

Chase Sapphire Lounge access

As the new Etihad Airways lounge is opened in partnership with Chase, there are several other ways that Chase credit card holders can gain access to the lounge. Travelers who hold a Priority Pass membership are given unlimited entry to the lounge. The Priority Pass membership is typically given to travelers who hold the Chase Sapphire Reserve card. This membership is also given to those with a Ritz-Carlton credit card, which no longer accepts applicants.

Travelers who do not have a Chase Sapphire Reserve card may still have a Priority Pass membership. These members can access any Chase Sapphire Lounge once per calendar year. However, these members must also pay guests, which typically costs $75 to enter. Travelers without a Priority Pass membership can purchase access to the lounge for $100 per person, subject to availability.

Other lounges at Washington Dulles

Recently, Capital One expanded its presence to Washington Dulles by opening its second lounge . The credit card company's first lounge was opened at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) in November 2001. This 8,500-square-foot lounge was opened in September 2023. The lounge is modeled after the historic terminal at Dulles and is located right behind the main TSA PreCheck security lounge.

The Capital One lounge is open from 05:30 to 21:00 every day of the week. It also offers several different options for food and drinks. This includes grab-and-go foods, a staffer coffee bar, a full-service bar, and made-to-eat meals.

Pass the time with many recent games in a comfortable leather chair, even if you're not much of a gamer.

You'll also find common amenities like food, drinks, TV and air conditioning. The standard visit limit is 2 hours, and DFW airport has two Gameway locations participating in the Priority Pass network:

Terminal B Gameway

Be Relax is a chain of spas with two locations in DFW. Priority Pass members can choose from several services, including massage and aromatherapy:

  • Terminal B: Next to gate B28
  • Terminal D: Next to gate D21

These pampering services might be just what's needed to unwind before or after a flight.

How to access DFW locations with your Priority Pass

Here are several ways to get airport lounge access : Priority Pass membership, Club Pass and as a credit card benefit.

Priority Pass Membership

When you sign up for a membership with Priority Pass, you can choose from annual plans that start at $99 . The membership levels suit different travel needs. For instance, if you want unlimited access to lounges, consider the Prestige membership plan. The Club airport lounges participate in the Priority Pass network, so you can access The Club lounges at DFW with a Priority Pass membership.

Club Pass from The Club

A single-use Club Pass can give you direct access to The Club DFW in Terminal D, described above. You can enjoy the same experience you'd get with a Priority Pass membership. For more information about a Club Pass, visit  TheClubAirportLounges.com .

Complimentary Priority Pass Select membership with Chase Sapphire Reserve

The Chase Sapphire Reserve ® credit card has many benefits, from rewards to travel and purchase coverage. If you have this card, you can activate a complimentary Priority Pass Select membership. That provides access to lounges in the Priority Pass network at DFW, and a maximum of 2 guests can accompany you. The Sapphire Reserve card does have an annual fee.

Getting around DFW Airport

The best way to move around DFW might be the light rail train, Skylink. It connects the 5 terminals and runs every 2 minutes, all day long. Plus, if you haven't already passed security, you could use a van shuttle to move between terminals; a shuttle runs every 10 minutes. Walkways connect Terminals A and B as well as C and D.

About Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Airport

In terms of aircraft movements and passenger traffic, DFW consistently ranks among the busiest airports anywhere. It features 28 airlines which provide service to over 260 destinations worldwide.

Besides TSA, DFW Airport also has its own police, emergency medical services and fire protection. It even has its own ZIP Code: 75261. You can access DFW from all major roads and interstates, including from the Dallas and Fort Worth public transit systems.
