Diablo 4: Spirits Of The Lost Grove Quest Guide

Quick links, conquer túr dúlra, find gathlen, the spirit lord, return to túr dúlra.

Playing as a Druid in Diablo 4 is awesome fun, but this class definitely has some challenges. More physical Druids have difficulty with ranged enemies, while casters are pretty soft. However, as with any Diablo game, there are plenty of ways to power up.

RELATED: Diablo 4: Best Weapons For Druids, Ranked

Once you reach Level 15, you'll unlock the Druid class quest. The Druid quest is "Spirits of the Lost Grove," found in the Priority Quests section. Druids must first clear the Stronghold of Túr Dúlra to unlock the quest.

Updated by Aaron Krull on October 22, 2023 : The Druid class quest is more complicated than the average side quest in Diablo 4. We've revised this article to give you more information on defeating the bosses you'll face on the Spirits of the Lost Grove quest.

Strongholds are locations in Sanctuary that must be cleansed of terrible evil forces. Túr Dúlra is temporarily occupied by Baelgemoth, Infernal Tormenter, and he knows how to pack a punch. Before facing him, you'll first need to free the spirits of four Druids spread out around the Stronghold.

Clear out the enemies around each Druid spirit as you find them, but don't talk to them yet. Each time you interact with one, an elite mini-boss will appear to challenge you. So be sure your health is full and your skills are cooled down first. Keep your potions upgraded too, since these elites are no joke.

Fighting Baelgemoth himself isn't too bad, but melee-focused builds may struggle. This boss himself is a powerful melee fighter, with a wicked fire breath attack. Baelgemoth can also teleport behind you for a surprise attack with his hammer. Save your dodge ability for these moments in particular, and consider using some gear with fire resistance .

RELATED: Diablo 4: Every Necromancer Minion, Ranked

Once relative calm has returned to Túr Dúlra, you can truly begin the Spirits of the Lost Grove quest. Druid Ardreth can be found at the bottom tier of the Stronghold, in the grove of the Spirit Animals. This is where you'll spend Druidic Spirit Offerings on powerful Boons that can change your game.

Ardreth will direct you to the southeast in order to commune with the Spirit Lord. It's a fairly short run from Firebreak Manor. You can save time with Fast Travel . Once you fight through the poachers to reach the Spirit Lord's Altar, Gathlen will give you another task. You'll need to travel to Fainne, the Abandoned Grove, in order to free a physical aspect of the Spirit Lord himself.

Fainne is only a short run to the north from the Spirit Lord's Altar. Once you arrive, you'll need to deal with a Goatmen ambush led by Gorefeast. This Elite has two powerful special effects, so take him down first. After all the Goatmen are defeated, you can free the Spirit Lord from the effigy and return to Túr Dúlra.

RELATED: Is It Wrong If Diablo 4 Season 2 Leaves Me Cautiously Optimistic?

Getting back is simple enough with Fast Travel, or you can just walk since Fainne is close. Once back, you'll have to go through the rigamarole of climbing back down to the lowest tier to see Ardreth. He'll direct you to place Gathlen's skull on Túr Dúlra's Altar, completing the quest.

Now that you've done the hard work, it's time to reap the outstanding rewards! Spirit Boons are powerful passive effects with a wide range of benefits. You can mix and match up to 5 altogether eventually, making these essential for Druids of any level or build. This is just one of the many ways you can take your Druid game to the next level in Diablo 4.

A Guided Tour Through The Five Regions Of Diablo 4's Sanctuary

With Diablo IV, Blizzard aims to revamp the danger-infested hellscape of Sanctuary. The world’s five explorable regions – Kehjistan, Scosglen, Fractured Peaks, Dry Steppes, and Hawezar – offer their own flavors of topography, cultures, quests, and, of course, monsters. Blizzard is going to great lengths to ensure these regions are not only fun for players to explore, but feature more narrative cohesion and a stronger sense of place.

Diablo veterans have explored regions of Sanctuary before, but this time they’re more than one-note areas highlighting a single climate or element, such as snow or desert. Each of them is biodiverse in its own right, with multiple biomes and threats exclusive to them. These realms also blend more naturally together; the lush green of one area gradually withers away into the parched brown of another region's dry canyon, for example. Villages and their residents better reflect the cultures and stories of their local areas, reinforcing the sense that regions feel like self-contained worlds filled with history, both new and old.

We spoke to Blizzard art director John Mueller, senior game designer II Dini McMurry, associate game designer Madeleine James, and senior game designer II Harrison Pink to get a snapshot of what these areas have to offer, including video clips highlighting each of them.

This arid land draws its visual inspiration from the Middle East and the Mojave desert. Once a thriving civilization, it now lies in ruins buried under sand dunes dotted with oases and teeming with threats such as giant scorpions and plenty of bandits. Kehjistan (along with Hawezar) is also home to Truine cultists, a faction previously mentioned only in lore, making its first real appearance in a Diablo game. For Diablo III fans, Blizzard says players will get to see how Caldeum, the capital city, has fared in the many years since the events of that game. While the team doesn’t want to spoil plot details surrounding such an important campaign landmark, it does tease that the situation has been less than great.

Drawing inspiration from the highlands of Scotland, this scenic yet damp locale is great for those who enjoy rolling hills and white sandy beaches. You’ll have to keep an eye out for copious amounts of Drowned, undead bodies of souls that perished at sea, roaming Scosland’s coastline, including a particularly large population guarding an abandoned lighthouse at the continent’s peak.

“At the very end, there's this huge drowned, almost Queen if you will, called the Sea Hag,” says quest designer Madeleine James. “And she's, like, three times as big as all together drowned, and it's just like this, almost bloated mass of body parts, and so that's a really fun enemy to see at the end of that moment.”

Scoglen serves as the home for the shapeshifting, nature-loving druid class, their college, and a storyline tied to a Stronghold, Diablo IV’s co-op-focused events. A faction known as the Knights Penitent has also carved out a place for themselves here, alongside plenty of werewolves and giant spiders. The already inhospitable and dangerous Shrouded Moors area from Diablo III has been rebranded as the Blood Moors, a not-so-subtle sign the area’s fortunes have somehow plummeted even further.

Every good RPG needs a poison swamp, and Hawezar has that covered in spades. Blizzard looked at Florida’s marshlands and European swamps as a foundation and populated the zone with poisonous flora and fauna that’s sure to plague explorers. Perhaps the most hideous enemies residing here are the Nangari, new snake-like enemies whose bodies are laden with human appendages and multiple heads. “They’re really grotesque looking,” says senior quest designer and zone supervisor Harrison Pink.

Hawezar is partially occupied by soldiers representing the Order of Zakarum, a religion dedicated to following the light, who traveled to the region in search of a holy location. That expedition didn’t pan out, so the crusaders, several of them disillusioned and disgruntled, settled in the town of Zarbinzet. In addition to seeing these armored crusaders patrolling, players will spot several old Zakarum forts partially tilted and sinking into the saturated earth.

Fractured Peaks

This frigid region is home to the religious – and brutally draconian – authority known as the Cathedral of Light. Loosely based on the Carpathian Mountains, residents that can endure Fractured Peaks’ unbearably cold temperatures (some parts lie trapped in a blizzard) may find comfort in living under the Cathedral of Light’s protection – as long as they stay on their best behavior.

“They have a big pyre in the middle of one of their cities where they burn sinners, and that's totally normal and okay for them,” says Pink.

Other parts of Fractured Peaks aren’t perpetually frozen. Warmer areas are covered in melted snow that, in turn, creates waterfalls that flow into Hawezar’s swampy waterways. In one significant campaign quest, players visit Alabaster Monastery, the Cathedral of Light’s heavily guarded fort tucked away high up on a mountain. Players embark on a bone-chilling pilgrimage to reach it and prove their worthiness. Along that climb, there's a solid chance you'll be picked off by Khazra, AKA Goatmen wielding ice magic.

Dry Steppes

Dry grassland and rocky cliffs define this area, which lies nestled between Scosglen and Fractured Peaks. Featuring lava rivers, white sandy beaches, and multicolored geothermal pools inspired by Yellowstone National Park, it isn’t the most hospitable location, but a troop of barbarians managed to settle here after the decimation of their former home, Mount Arreat. In terms of threats, cannibal hordes terrorize caravans transporting precious water to towns, so expect to see mercenary parties protecting these transports from attacks. The Dry Steppes also features the salt flats biome where people have dug deep into the Earth, something Mueller points out as not being the best idea in this world while teasing a broader story for players to uncover.

Although the campaign acts as a globetrotting adventure across all of these zones, Blizzard says sidequests will mainly be localized. Don’t expect to pick up a mission in Hawezar that wraps up in Fractured Peaks. Sidequests focus on fleshing out each region’s stories and hardships, giving players an intimate look into the day-to-day lives of their inhabitants to complement the broader campaign narrative. Dungeons sport specific tile sets reflecting their respective areas, and the certain monster families in each region utilize a specific element. Expect to see more lightning-based enemies occupying drier areas, for example.

Diablo IV may be a return to the uber-dark tone and aesthetics of the first two entries, but Blizzard knows that its world can’t be one of constant sadness. Incorporating a variety of art directions in each region creates a more artistically diverse Sanctuary, one that players will feel inspired to step into no matter how dangerous it may be.

“It can be really easy to fall into that doom and gloom hole of darkness all the time,” says Pink. “But if you don't have some glimmers of life, some glimmers of hope and characters that you can actually care about, you're like, ‘why am I putting all this effort into saving Sanctuary from Lillith if everything just sucks all the time?’ So giving you some real sparks of humanity that you can hook into as a player to emotionally connect to is super, super important to us as a team.”

Diablo IV launches on June 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Players can jump in early in an open beta running March 24-26.

Diablo 4 - How To Unlock Torment Difficulty - World Tier IV

Diablo 4 - How To Unlock Torment Difficulty - World Tier IV

World Tier IV in Diablo 4 is called Torment Mode and its currently where all the best loot in the game drops! This mode will test your character's strength and abilities as you take on mobs that are much stronger than other modes, resistant to certain attacks and cause more mayhem in dungeons.

This guide will show you how to unlock Torment Mode in Diablo 4 , which becomes available as soon as you have unlocked Nightmare Mode World Tier III in Diablo 4 .

To unlock Torment Mode World Tier IV , you need to complete another Capstone Dungeon called The Fallen Temple . The recommended level for this dungeon is level 70 and needs to be completed on World Tier III.

Check out our playthrough of the Dungeon below:

Where Is The Fallen Temple Capstone Dungeon?

Fallen Temple Location

First you need to find The Fallen Temple Capstone Dungeon . It is located in the Dry Steppes Region .

If you teleport to Fate's Retreat Waypoint, you can then take the long path to the Dungeon; use your Mount to get there quicker.

Before heading into the Dungeon, pop an Elixir to help boost your stats as this Capstone Dungeon can be quite difficult!

Unlock Torment Mode - Fallen Temple Capstone Dungeon Guide

The Fallen Temple Capstone Dungeon is recommended for players who are at least Level 70 ; you can take on the Dungeon at any level but you might find the stronger enemies do too much damage if you are under leveled.

There are three parts to The Fallen Temple dungeon that you will need to complete.

Collect The Bloodstone and Stone Carving

Inside the Fallen Temple you will come to a place called the Antechamber Of The Dammed . You will find two pedestals here that you can place a Bloodstone on and a Stone Carving .

You'll need to head through the two door ways either side of you to obtain these items; you can pass through by interacting with them.

In the Sigil Of The Weak area you will require you to fight through several rounds of strong mobs, including:

  • Bonecleaver
  • Flesh Thresher

You'll also find plenty of Elites and Champion Elites, all with affixes that can make them more difficult:

  • Plaguebearer
  • Damage Resistance
  • Fire Enchanted

Trial Of The Weak

Trial Of Weak

Eventually you'll come to a room that seals off as soon as you enter it called Trial Of The Weak .

You will need to withstand several waves of mobs as the timer counts down; each waves gets progressively more and more difficult, summoning several Elites at once for you to take on.

Once the trial is over, you can claim the Bloodstone and place it on the pedestal at the Antechamber Of The Dammed .

Next head to through the Seal Of The Indolent Door . Here you'll need to do exactly the same; there are some new mobs in this area, such as those annoying Lunatic mobs that explode on you and:

  • Vile Shaman
  • Fallen Shaman
  • Vile Overseer
  • Fallen Lunatic

Trial Of The Indolent

Indolent Door

The trial of the Indolent is very similar to the Trial Of The Weak. This time you'll need to destroy a fixed Idol of The Fallen Temple in the middle of the room as waves of mobs start spawning around you.

Pro-tip: Take out the shaman as quickly as possible to prevent them summoning even more mobs.

Take the Stone Carving back to the Antechamber Of The Dammed and a new doorway will open up.

Cathedral Of Flesh

Elite Cannibals

You'll now come to an area called the Cathedral Of Flesh . Here you'll need to collect Animus spirits from the Elite Mobs called Cannibals .

The Cannibal Elites will show up on your mini-map when you are near them. There are a total of 5 to defeat , and each one will drop around 3-4 Animus spirits to collect.

Animus Urn

Once you have all the Animus Spirits collected, head to the Animus Urn to deposit them, which will open up the doorway to the final boss.

Elias, Hatred's Remnant - Boss Fight

Elias The Boss

The final boss of The Fallen Temple is Elias and he can be quite tricky to defeat.

Elias will begin the fight by summoning several fireballs that will fly out around him; you can dodge these better by moving away from Elias , allowing them to spread out more.

He usually follows that move up with three more dark fireballs that will fly directly towards you, dealing lots of damage- but you can dodge them by using dash as soon as they start to head in your direction. If you have teleport or an unstoppable move, it's a great time to use it.

One of his strongest moves is when he summons mobs ; he will shoot out ten or so summoning circles; if you get caught in them they can easily 1-shot you in you're low on health. Each circle will conjure up a mob. His summons usually land in front of him, so dashing behind Elias is a great way to avoid this move.

After summoning mobs, he will then use a burning move that creates a wide angle in front of him. It's easy to dodge by rushing behind Elias.

As you get past 60% health , he will start using some new moves, including creating a burning triangle in the middle of the room; passing around the burning lines deals significant damage. It will also summon several Balrog mobs.

Once you defeat Elias and complete The Fallen Temple dungeon, you can head to World Tier Statue in Kyovashad and unlock World Tier IV: Torment!

Diablo 4 Is Trying Something Different Ahead Of Season 4

Blizzard has revealed that it will host a PTR for Season 4 of Diablo 4 in the coming weeks, ahead of the season's full launch in April.

By James Carr on February 29, 2024 at 2:01PM PST

Diablo 4 will have a public test realm for Season 4 ahead of its launch. Blizzard revealed that a PTR will be available on PC in the coming weeks, letting players provide feedback on some of the changes in the upcoming season.

As shared during a recent campfire chat , a PTR for Diablo 4 Season 4 will be available in the coming weeks to let Blizzard test the numerous changes coming in the next season. While the developer did not share details on some of the changes set for Season 4, it did say that there are some large changes coming to stats and rewards. With there being so many changes, Blizzard felt a PTR was necessary, despite not having used one for any of the game's first three seasons.

Now Playing: Diablo IV Everything To Know

The PTR will be available exclusively via the Battle.net version of Diablo 4 on PC and will start ahead of the Season 4 launch. This means that the PTR will go live with a few weeks left in Season 3 of Diablo 4, giving Blizzard time to react to the feedback coming from the players. The developer said that not every season will have a public test realm ahead of launch, only seasons that feature enough big changes that testing feels required.

The PTR will not be under a non-disclosure agreement and players who participate will be allowed to stream their gameplay and share details, giving a pretty in-depth look at Season 4 earlier than past seasons. Blizzard also asked for the community to provide feedback on how it introduces new legendary aspects and uniques. Previously, Blizzard would only release them when every class had one ready, but now wants to just release those items when they are ready for one class.

Blizzard said it would provide more details about the PTR in another campfire chat in the next few weeks. Season 3 of Diablo 4 ends on April 16, with Season 4 likely launching the same day. In the same chat Blizzard provided an in-depth look at Gauntlets, which are coming next week.

Diablo IV est désormais disponible via GeForce NOW © Blizzard

GeForce NOW : 30 nouveaux jeux arrivent en mars

  • The Thaumaturge (Steam, le 4 mars)
  • Classified: France '44 (Steam, le 5 mars)
  • Expeditions: A MudRunner Game (Steam, le 5 mars)
  • Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun (Xbox, PC Game Pass, le 5 mars)
  • Winter Survival (Steam, le 6 mars)
  • Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator (Steam, le 7 mars)
  • Hellbreach: Vegas (Steam, le 11 mars)
