A visit to a hospital

5 Best Essays on ” A Visit to a Hospital”

Essay No. 01

A visit to a hospital does not give us any kind of pleasure. It leaves a depressing effect on one who visits it. A hospital is a home for the sick and the suffering. Last Sunday, I happened to visit the local Civil Hospital. My friend, Santos had met with an accident. He had got a head injury. His left leg had also been fractured. I had earlier visited him twice. But my first two visits were brief. This time, I decided to see all the wards and rooms. I, therefore, had a general round of the hospital.

The main building of the hospital was neat and clean. The rooms were airy and well-ventilated. On my left was the inquiry room. A lady receptionist was on duty there. There was a small medical store adjacent to it. Then I saw the casualty room. Here all cases of emergency were attended upon. A young man was brought on a stretcher. His shirt and trousers were covered with blood. He had met with an accident.

As I went further, I saw separate wards for different kinds of diseases. One was the E.N.T. department. Here diseases of the eye, nose, and throat were attended to. The other was the orthopedic department. Here all cases of bone fracture were attended to. A small child was crying. His right leg was plastered.

As I entered the heart of the building, I saw scores of people lying in their beds. It was the general ward. All the patients looked pale and sad. I was sad to see the suffering patients. Neatly dressed nurses and doctors were doing their job. There were silence and gloom everywhere. The hospital presented a cheerless sight. As I came out of the hospital. I heaved a sigh of relief.

Essay No. 02

A Visit to a Hospital

For a seriously ill patient, a hospital presents the idea of both heaven and hell. When death stares him in the face, he feels that his life might be saved in the hospital. At the same time, he is afraid of the various tests and painful treatments, and administration of drugs through which he might have to pass and, he knows that the results are not always positive. A little negligence on the part of a doctor or a little reaction caused by a drug can make the situation most dangerous and sometimes irreversible.

Last Sunday, I had to visit the local Civil Hospital. It was because my friend, Mohit, had been admitted there for about a week. He had a road accident and I thank God that his life was saved by the worthy doctors and surgeons there.

As I entered the hospital, I felt a bit saddened as I saw some women crying loudly. They were bewailing the death of a near and dear one.

It was visiting time and I went straight to the surgical ward where Mohit had been admitted. I remembered that his room number and both bed number were 6 which he had often told me was a lucky number for him. His mother had told me about his room and bed number and I wondered how Mohit had been lucky in having this number when he had to visit the hospital. But then I remembered the old saying that whatever God does, he does for our good and I thought that perhaps it was on that bed in that room that his life had been saved when he had met such a horrible road accident.

I saw both the right leg and arm of my friend plastered. His head was rounded with white bandages on which spots of red blood and brown and yellow medicines were quite visible as we see in the pictures.

He looked like a ghost and jumped from his bed as he saw me. I was glad that he had recovered to the extent of jumping into bed. I gave him a few illustrated magazines and he was happy. I told him several humorous stories and titbits.

As the visiting time was over, the nurse on duty asked me to leave the room immediately. I got up reluctantly but promised Mohit to visit him again till his stay in the hospital.

Essay No. 03

A hospital is an institution in which sick and injured persons are given medical or surgical treatment.

Last week I happened to visit the local hospital. There was a great rush of visitors in the compound who came to meet their patients.

My uncle had been admitted there for an operation of his heart. There were many other patients. They were suffering from different diseases.

A young woman was lying with serious burns. In the next ward, a man had been stabbed in the back. Doctors and nurses were moving about.

They were attending to the patients. They were full of love and sympathy. The hospital presented a horrible look.

I felt very sad and returned home in a contemplative mood.

A Visit to A Hospital

A Day in The Hospital

All of us are familiar with a hospital. It is a place where the sick and the wounded are taken care of. It is a place where all of us have gone at least once in our lifetimes.

There is government as well as private hospitals. Private hospitals are expensive, and not everyone can afford to go there. They are also very well equipped with the latest medical machinery and very well-trained staff, Private hospitals offer good services, but a patient has to pay for the services and the facilities. They are usually kept very clean and their staff is very alert and committed.

In government hospitals the charges are nominal. They render free service to the common man. These hospitals draw persons from all sections of society. Patients and visitors continue to come in throughout the day. The standards of cleanliness are also not very high. There is always a fear of catching an infection in these hospitals. The attitude of the staff leaves much to be desired. They surreptitiously demand money even for rendering their duties.

There is a Civil Hospital in our town. I have often visited it. Last week we were taken on a guided tour of the Hospital. It has a fine building. It has many rooms. It has large glass doors. These are very impressive. The hospital is divided into many wards. There is a separate arrangement for male and female patients. A lady doctor looks after the female patients. There are separate departments for dental and eye care. There are many laboratories to check blood, urine, and stool samples. There are four operation theatres. There is an X-ray department. All these facilities are properly maintained. Qualified doctors are incharge of this department.

The hospital looks after two types of patients. There are indoor and outdoor patients. Indoor patients have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. There is a band of nurses to look after them. They are dressed in white. We can see them doing their duty efficiently. Outdoor patients come and consult doctors about their health problems. The doctors prescribe them the medicines. They get the medicines from the dispensary. The patient gets effective treatment for their diseases at the hospital.

Essay No. 05

A hospital is a familiar place. There sick and the wounded are treated or admitted. No one would like to go there of his own. It is a place where all of us might have gone move more than once.

There are private as well as government hospitals. Private hospitals provide better services that everyone cannot afford to go to. Nowadays some private hospitals try to extract money by way of indescribable tests. In government hospitals the charges are nominal. One has to buy medicines from a chemist’s shop just outside the hospital. They render free services to the common man. Patients from all sections of the visit them for treatment and cure. Visitors come to see their relatives throughout the day. At some hospitals visiting hours are fixed.

Once I visited a government hospital. My friend was admitted there only last month. He got his leg fractured in an accident. He was taken to the emergency ward. Doctors examined him and dressed his wounds. Then he was sent to an X-ray room as they feared he had got his leg fractured. He was referred to the general ward. When I reached the ward, his leg has been plastered. He smiled when he saw me. Even in great pain, he smiled as usual. I felt relieved. There were other patients in the ward. Some of them were looking at the visitors. Some were talking to them. Some were feeling uncomfortable. Some were just turning this way or that on their beds.

While coming out of the hospital I saw some relatives who looked tense. Perhaps their relative might have been sent to the operation theatre. Many relatives of other patients sat in groups in the lawns or corridors talking to each other. Doctors and nurses were seen moving from one patient to another. They were looking at the charts prepared by them or other doctors. They were asking patients how they felt then.

Finally, I reached the outer gate and felt myself relaxed. I prayed to God for my friend’s early discharge from the hospital and wished him a speedy recovery.

10 lines on ‘a visit to the hospital’ for kids, short essay on ‘a visit to the hospital’ in english for kids, long essay on ‘a visit to the hospital’ for children, what will your child learn from this essay.

Essay writing is one section that plays an integral role for any student, from primary classes to university level. An essay on “A Visit To The Hospital” for classes 1, 2 and 3 is a popular topic for children. This essay helps in teaching young kids the importance of hospitals and doctors. They understand the benefits of good health as they write about the hospital, doctors and their role in our lives. Some kids are inspired to follow the medical profession after learning about the medical field. The essay on “A Visit To The Hospital” also helps young students in their comprehension lessons and class assignments.

Like all other essays, “A Visit To The Hospital” has the same structure. However, it is different from other essay topics. These key points will help lower primary students to write a good essay on the topic:

  • Write and explain what a hospital is.
  • Describe the hospital briefly you visited, some departments you had to go to, etc.
  • Write about the role of doctors, nurses and other staff working in the hospital.
  • Write why hospitals are necessary and their benefits.

Writing an essay for students of classes 1 and 2 seems difficult at first. Teachers and parents can ask them to write a few lines describing the topic to ease the process. Here are 10 lines on “A Visit To The Hospital” for reference:

  • A hospital is an important place for every city, town, and village.
  • It’s a place where a person goes to get treatment for illness or injury.
  • Many doctors, nurses and ward boys work in a hospital.

  • I went to the hospital last week to see my ill grandmother.
  • Doctors conducted many tests and checkups to diagnose the illness.
  • The nurses were there to help the doctors and take care of patients.
  • The hospital was very clean and hygienic.
  • Some speciality hospitals treat only one kind of illness.
  • Hospitals are a necessity for the treatment and health of people.

Young kids of lower primary classes are often asked to write a short paragraph to describe their hospital visits. Here is a short essay on “A Visit To The Hospital” for their reference:

A hospital is a place where sick and injured people get treatment and become healthy. Last week, I went to the hospital to see my ill grandmother. The hospital, from the outside, looked like any other large building, but inside there were many rooms, wards, departments, and doctors’ cabins. Many doctors in white coats were checking patients. Nurses in blue uniforms were helping them. Some ward boys were also there. They were taking patients for tests or cleaning the hospital. I was surprised to see how clean the hospital was! My mother told me cleanliness is necessary to avoid illness or infections. In the hospitals, there were different departments for different diseases. My mother said kids get treatment in the paediatric department. My grandmother was in the general ward. She was happy to see me. The doctors treated her illness for a few more days, and she returned home healthy.

A Visit To The Hospital Essay - 10 Lines, Short and Long Essay For Kids

Students of class 3 are expected to write a long essay on different topics. At this stage, teachers and parents believe they understand many words and sentence-making basics. Here is a long essay on “A Visit To The Hospital” for children:

A visit to the hospital is an experience worth noting. Last summer, my uncle met with an accident. I went to Shourie Hospital, where he was admitted. I visited a hospital for the first time in my life. I saw many people going in and coming out of the hospital building. My parents enquired about my uncle’s ward at the reception. He was in the general ward. There were many beds in that room. My uncle was resting on a bed with bandages covering his arms and legs. A doctor was attending to him, and a nurse was helping the doctor. My uncle felt better after the treatment.

After staying with my uncle for some time, I asked my father to see other hospital areas. He took me for a tour. My father kept telling me about various departments as we went around the hospital. He told me the cancer department is for treating cancer patients, and the general ward is for patients with common illnesses. In every ward, I saw doctors and nurses attending to patients. I felt good after seeing how attentive doctors and other staff were to patients. We even saw the operation theatre from the outside. There was a waiting area near the operation theatre, and relatives of people getting operated on were waiting there.

Outside the main hospital building, there was a huge garden. Many patients sat there with their attendants or ward boys. Then we went back to the general ward. I was happy to see him getting good care from the hospital staff. Being in the medical industry is indeed a noble profession.

A simple essay on hospital visits will teach your kids the value of health and the contribution of the medical staff to our lives and society. Kids will understand how much doctors and nurses work hard to treat patients and learn about different types of medical branches. So, an essay on a hospital visit will broaden their knowledge and make them aware of the benefits of good health and hygiene.

Writing an essay on a hospital visit makes the student understand a hospital’s role, work and importance. They learn to respect the hard work of hospital staff and doctors in treating patients.

A Visit to a Hospital

Essay on A Visit to a Hospital in English

A visit to a hospital essay – 400 words.

“Hospitals are places where we fight diseases in comfort.”

It was a long-standing desire of mine to go on a tour around a large public hospital in the company of medical students. I met a few friends, who were studying in a medical college, attached to the general hospital. I made a programme with them for a visit to this hospital with a view to observing the working of its different parts.

My friends took me first to the male outdoor medical ward that was crowded with patients. There were about eight doctors in four rooms examining them by turn. They could not spend enough time on each patient. They only prescribed medicines in a hurry. The patients could not get all these from the dispensary. The female outdoor ward was crowded with women and children. Some of the women were holding babies on their shoulders. The lady-doctors could not examine each patient at ease and to their own satisfaction, what to talk of the satisfaction of the patients.

The scene at the surgical outdoor ward was no different. Patients with several kinds of injuries and pains wanted to have a surgical check-up. They got the treatment after a great deal of waiting. The nurses tried their best to dress the wounds, but they were rather too few to attend to all the patients satisfactorily. We passed by the emergency wards. It was painful to see patients in a dangerous condition. The doctors and nurses readily examined patients with serious injuries. We passed through the indoor medical and surgical wards. Hundreds of patients lay in beds. Some of them were crying in pain. Some were reading newspapers while others were gossiping, perhaps about their hopeless condition and the terrorist acts in different parts of their dear country.[the_ad id=”17141″]

The nurses gave medicines or injected the patients in the indoor wards. I saw some doctors in white coats having a round of the wards. They examined the new cases and looked over the papers and reports of the old ones. Some patients told me that the food was not satisfactory, and the bathrooms were not clean. I looked around and really found a lot of dirt and dust. Perhaps the hospital was not getting enough funds for its maintenance. Yet, the staff of the hospital. was working hard to satisfy the patients. I felt the need to have far better facilities and more doctors in our hospitals. The rich should co-operate with the government in providing these. We can have medical societies in different parts of the country for the uplift and betterment of public and government hospitals. These societies can get donations and grants from big industrialists, landowners, and traders. The money so collected can be spent on streamlining (modernizing and improving) our hospitals.

Life is full of pains and sufferings. To be healthy is a great’ blessing of God. The more the medical science has developed, the more the number of diseases has increased. Health care is the responsibility of the government. In a sprawling city like Karachi, The govt.cannot provide free medical facilities. to the people. There are only three Govt. hospitals-Jinnah, Civil and Sindh Hospital in Karachi. The other numbering about fifty, are private hospitals. Half a dozen Medical complexes offer specialized services through the specialists.

If you visit a public hospital, you will find them crowded with patients. In-door patients are visited by their relatives during fixed periods. My visit was different. It was rather an informal visit. My college principal is an influential lady. Through the good offices of her friend Dr. Shahnaz, she arranged a visit to Hanif Hospital in North Nazimabad. It is a private hospital run by some capitalist. It is a well-managed institution.[the_ad id=”17142″]

Inter-science and Arts students visited the hospital in the morning hours. We were accompanied by some Lecturers and English Sir. The Administrator of the Hospital welcome. us. The hospital is housed in a three-storied building. The ground floor is reserved for the specialists (doctors) who sit during specified hours. There were a reception officer and inquiry counter attended by a smart nurse. Doctors and nurses were running up and down. I was impressed by the cleanliness in the hospital.

Then we broke up into five groups of eight to ten. The doctors on duty took us round the wards, computer room and operation theatre turn by turn. The suffering of humanity in the wards moved me. Our incharge Dr. Tariq was smart and well-informed man. Our English Lecturer Mr. Khan was attached to an other group. Dr. Tariq inchange of the computer section, kept a calculator type instrument in Mr. Khan’s pocket and monitored his heart beats and movements. I was surprised to see them on the screen.

After visiting various testing centres, I visited the operation theatre on the 1st floor. We removed our shows before entering the theatre. We saw an accident victim’s operation on the T.V. screen. The relatives of the young kid were praying and weeping outside the theatre. Whenever we went, the doctors and nurses were kind enough to explain the functioning of the unit.

At last we went up the 2nd floor. The grilled gate was locked. The ward boy opened it. The in charge of the ward was an English lady. Mental patients and drug addicts were kept and cured in the ward. Separate sections were used for females and males. I talked to two of them. I asked a handsome young man how he picked up the bad habit. The chap was son of ‘rich parents and educated. He laughed a said:

“Bad company; I am now weaned from the habit.”

At last we all gathered near the waiting room on the ground floor. The administration passed on some useful literature and booklets on health care. At noon I returned to the college.

Set 1: Essay On A Visit To A Hospital

I visited a big hospital in the last week where one of my friends had been admitted. He was injured in an accident. I went with my mother to see him. He was admitted to the City Hospital.

It was a big hospital. We enquired at the reception and found out that my friend was in the Casualty Ward. We reached there. My friend was looking pale but he was improving. He was feeling much better then. I talked to him about our school , friends, and studies. His mother told us that it would take one more week for him to be completely alright. I promised him that I would help in complete his studies once he returns home. We then wished him a speedy recovery and left.

I asked my mother to take a round of the hospital. The hospital was full of patients, doctors, nurses, and ward boys. Some patients were seriously ill. They were crying with pain. Some patients were lying on the bed. The doctors were busy treating the patients. The nurses were carrying trays full of medicines, syringes, and saline bottles. The ward boys were either cleaning the rooms or carrying the patients on stretchers.

There were separate wards for different diseases. On one side there were Laboratories and an X-ray Theatre. The private rooms were located on the 3rd floor. There were two operation theatres. I wanted to visit the operation theatre. But we were not allowed to do so. There was a small canteen on the ground floor. It was meant for the hospital staff and the relatives of the patients. The hospital was very clean and tidy. The smell of medicines and solutions used for disinfecting the hospital had spread all around the hospital.

My mother could not tolerate this smell for a long time and we returned home. I came away hoping that I would never have to be admitted to a hospital.

Set 2: Essay On A Visit To A Hospital

I saw a horrible time last week. I alone had to admit my grandmother to a nearby hospital as she collapsed in her room. I phoned and requested for an ambulance to the authorities of Shri Bala General Hospital to take my grandma to the hospital instantly. Until then I also phoned my parents who were at work. Within couple of hours, they came rushing to the hospital.

My grandma had a severe pain in the heart. It seems she suffered a heart attack. Within minutes, the ambulance arrived and took her to the hospital. Without wasting any time, she was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). I came to know that patients who were facing great danger to their life were admitted in ICU or ICCU. She was under constant observation of the doctors. Her heartbeats, pressure and many other things were continuously monitored on different machines. She was given certain medicines that immediately let her to sleep.

She was under constant observation in the ICU for five days. On the fifth day, her heartbeats became normal. The main reason for the heart attack was her high blood pressure that she suffered since long. She was advised to bring her blood pressure under control. The doctors warned us that she should be avoided from getting another heart attack, which might prove fatal.

On the third day, I decided to visit the entire hospital. I saw many wards where patients suffering various illnesses and diseases were lying in bed. Most of them were asleep or half-asleep. Foul smell came out of the toilet that was at the corner of the corridor. The surroundings of the nearby wards were unclean and filthy. Moreover, people came in and went out of the hospital without any time restriction.

There were many departments like the dental department, paediatric department, x-ray department, orthopaedic department, etc. All these departments were under the control of many specialist doctors and technicians. I also saw a ward filled with patients suffering from diabetes. There was an emergency ward where people involved in accident cases were admitted for immediate treatment. Nurses in each ward frequently checked the patients and monitored their progress. Doctors visited from ward to ward during their regular rounds.

There was a casualty department where patients who had small health complaints consulted the doctors. The doctors prescribed medicines and they got them from the hospital chemist. In the Outdoor Patient Department, there was a long queue of people, mostly lower-middle class and poor. Such departments of the hospitals are really of great help to people who cannot afford medical expenses. There was also a laboratory for checking the blood samples of the patients.

However, I found that though hospital gave a great service to the public, it failed in giving importance to the aspect of cleanliness in the wards and their surroundings areas,

Set 3: Essay On A Visit To A Hospital

Hospital is a dreadful name. It is because ailing and wounded live there. They have to go for treatment. But not all get cured. Some person die in the hospital. They die during the course of operation, delivery and so on. There are others who get cured. Still, I hesitate to go to the hospital. I cannot see the bed-ridden, infirm and suffering persons

As ill-luck would have it, I had to visit a hospital. One of my friends met with an accident. He was hospitalised and operated upon. I was very anxious to see him and enquire about his condition. I went to see him last Sunday. I reached the hospital at 4 p.m. The time fixed for the visitors was between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. I wanted to avail myself of as much time as possible.

It was a very big hospital. There were many lawns. The building was very clean. The visitors were in a hurry to see their relatives and friends in the hospital. I hurried to the General Ward where There my friend was. There were rows and rows of beds. It was a very big hall. Some patients were lying calm and quiet. Some were crying in pain. Others were sitting on their beds. My friend was lying in a bed with his leg in plaster. I wished for his early recovery. In the meantime, some other relatives also poured in. He became busy with them.

A few doctors and some nurses were visiting the bed. They were all dressed in white. Some of the nurses looked like fairies. It is a part of their duty to keep smiling while attending to the patients.

I stayed for full two hours with my friend. At last, the bell rang. All the visitors began to move out. I too had to leave. On the way back, I came across the Emergency Ward. I saw a man on a stretcher. He looked as though there was little life left in him.

I came out of the hospital with a mixed feeling of joy and sorrow. I was happy that my friend was getting cured. I was sorry for the suffering people, who would not go back to their families.
