Amalfi Drive Day Tour
Duration: 8 hours (approx).
This tour will take you along the famous Amalfi coast allowing you to explore towns as Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. I can pick you up in any location in the area (Sorrento, Napoli, etc.), and then back after your tour. Lunch would possibly be somewhere on the coastline with genuine food and great views.
8:30 I meet you at your hotel and drive you through the town, towards the Amalfi Coast.
Welcome to the Amalfi Coast!
8: 50 Welcome to the Amalfi Coast! Our first stop is above the Bay of Salerno and opposite the Li Galli island. In the distance you can see the town of Praiano.
A short stop between the Sea and the Mountains
9.00 A short stop by this spot will allow you to appreciate the contrast between the sea and the mountains.
As soon as we get on the road above the water, you’ll see the magical Li Galli islands.
Birdview of Positano

Montepertuso
If you lift your eyes on your right towards the Montepertuso mountain, you'll see this natural arch...they say it was the Virgin Mary to do it!
9.30 We’ve just driven all the way to the centre of town along a road that tour buses are not allowed on (they don’t even fit it!). Take some time to visit Positano.
Positano Behind

Sophia Loren

11.00 We’re in Amalfi. I’ll meet you back after you’ve explored the town, its Duomo, and maybe bought some hand-made paper.
12.00 After “climbing up” (still comfortably sitting in my car) along a narrow scenic road, we arrive inRavello… a thousand feet above the water level.
Ravello Lunch
13.00 A family run place or a table with a view… get ready for a memorable lunch after visiting the breathtaking villas of Ravello.
14:30 A peaceful relaxing drive through the mountains will take us up to this view. You’ll feel higher than mount Vesuvio.
15.30 We’re back to Roman times. A couple of hours with or without a local guide to feel the Magic of Pompei.
Sorrento Return
18.15 Heading back towards Sorrento via a different route. Spectacular views on your way.
Tour description
If your tour starts in Sorrento, wether you are staying in town or visiting for the day with a cruise ship or a private boat, you may want to spend a day exploring the Amalfi coast. I would pick you up wherever you want to be met, and from there we would start your private tour. We would leave the bay of Naples and approach Positano in less than an hour (time depends on pick up location), allowing time and stops on the scenic road to take pictures and appreciate the breathtaking views. You could then continue with an optional stop by the Grotta dello Smeraldo (Emerald Grotto), and then on to the town of Amalfi to see the Duomo of St Andrea or explore the narrow streets of the old town. Leaving Amalfi we would drive up to 1000 feet to see the town of Ravello and optionally step inside its villas. Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone are Ravello landmarks. Lunch could be here in Ravello or some other nearby scenic location, and then from Ravello I could drive you back either via the same coastal road, or over the mountains and by Castellammare.
