Where to find the Wilderness waypoints in Baldur's Gate 3

You'll be fast traveling across the map in no time.

Baldur's Gate 3 waypoints - characters standing next to a waypoint

If you want to fast travel in Baldur's Gate 3 , you'll need to travel to the area first and locate its waypoint so you can travel to it from anywhere else later. This saves a bunch of time if you want to zip around the map quickly without having to slog through the perilous, but admittedly lush, areas that the game has to offer.

The Forgotten Realms are vast, and even the first area can be quite daunting in terms of size and the number of things you can do there. You'll find companions to help fill out your party, items, such as Soul Coins to collect, and more Mind Flayer Parasites to increase your power. If you want a little help getting around all of it, here's where to find the waypoints so you can fast travel in the Wilderness of Baldur's Gate 3.

Baldur's Gate 3 Wilderness waypoint locations

Each waypoint needs to be activated before you can use it, and this is done by simply walking near one. They are bright purple runes painted onto rocks and you can fast travel to any you've unlocked by opening the map and clicking on the icon. Clicking the name of the location on the list to the right also works.

Waypoints are often tucked away though, and can be tricky to spot unless you happen to walk close enough to activate them. You don't need to roll any passive checks to find them, either—it's more that they might be hidden around a corner or near a cliff edge, so you might bypass them by accident.

To save you some trouble, here are the Wilderness waypoints in Baldur's Gate 3:

  • Overgrown Ruins
  • Emerald Grove Environs
  • Roadside Cliffs
  • Blighted Village
  • Goblin Camp
  • Riverside Teahouse
  • The Risen Road
  • Zhentarim Hideout
  • Waukeen's Rest

The map above shows the location for each of the waypoints, and the second screenshot shows the Zhentarim Hideout, which is an underground area accessed via Waukeen's Rest.

How to fast travel in Baldur’s Gate 3? – All Fast travel locations

Image of James Herd

It probably goes without saying, but the world of Baldur’s Gate 3 is gigantic. From the Emerald Grove to the Underdark to the Last Light Inn to the titular city of Baldur’s Gate, there are so many people to meet and places to see that it can seem almost daunting.

So we’d like to help make things a bit easier — let’s talk about Baldur’s Gate 3 ’s fast travel mechanic. How does it work, and where are all the various waypoints? It’s actually quite simple, and once you’ve learned the ins and outs of it, you’ll be zipping back and forth, to and fro all over the lands of Faerun!

How to fast travel in Baldur’s Gate 3?

To fast travel in Baldur’s Gate 3 , you first need to have unlocked a waypoint. Waypoints are unlocked as you travel the Sword Coast, and a window will pop up acknowledging any time you’ve unlocked one.

As soon as you’ve accessed at least one waypoint, you can open your map and click on the waypoint to be teleported instantly. In some areas, however, fast travel has been restricted, so you’ll have to navigate away from these areas if you are in need of an expedient escape. These restricted areas usually make sense narratively, so as long as you’re making sure to save before big story events, you should be okay.

Act 1 — Faerun Wilderness and Underdark/Mountain Pass

It’s important to note that I count waypoints along the Mountain Pass as part of Act 1, while others may see it as the beginning of Act 2. In playing the PS5 version, the trophy indicating I had reached Act 2 didn’t pop until I departed for the Shadowlands, so I am considering that the beginning of Act 2.

Baldur's gate 3: how to fast travel.

Fast Traveling is essential to getting around the vast world of Baldur's Gate 3. This guide breaks down how to use this key game feature.

The world of Baldur's Gate 3 is positively massive, with much of the game requiring nearly 100 hours to complete a single playthrough. That's a lot of back alleys and forgotten ruins to explore — and also a lot of walking. Does anyone genuinely want to spend their entire RPG adventure walking? That's why fast travel was invented!

Related: Best Games Like Baldur's Gate 3

But, the game is an old-school RPG , which means it doesn't make the fast travel mechanic easily known or readily accessible to new players at all times. This guide will help players fast travel to and fro across the Forgotten Realms!

How To Use Fast Travel

Fast traveling is an excellent way to navigate a massive open world, even one as beautiful as Baldur's Gate 3, without having to trek the entire way on foot. Thankfully, the isometric role-playing game does include a fast travel system, albeit one tied to ancient runes that players will stumble upon during their adventures. It's important to activate these runes around the game world to unlock various fast travel points.

To unlock a fast travel rune in Baldur's Gate 3, players must explore their surroundings and find the runes inscribed on rocks and cliffs scattered about the landscape . They're relatively simple to spot due to their glowing nature, thankfully. To activate one, players must step toward one and click on it. From there, fast travel is completely free and activated via a convenient button beside the mini-map in the top right corner of the HUD.

Unfortunately, players cannot simply open the game map and select anywhere in the world to fast travel. The runes are waypoints and the only method of speedily moving across the map to reach new destinations quicker. As such, players can travel to a waypoint, then walk the remaining distance to their objective.

Of course, like most hardcore role-playing games, many players believe fast travel in Baldur's Gate 3 breaks immersion. The goal here by Larian was to offer convenience to those who wish to use the feature and allow it to be wholly ignored by those who don't. Simple!

Baldur’s Gate 3: How To Fast Travel In BG3

Image of Scott Baird

Walking is just as hard in Baldur’s Gate 3 as it is in the real world, but at least your fantasy heroes have the option of using Fast Travel to zip around the map. This way, you’ll be able to move between the key locations in the Forgotten Realms without needing to sit and watch your party members sprinting everywhere.

In order to Fast Travel in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll need to unlock Waypoints . You’ll find one shortly after completing the tutorial dungeon, as you’ll meet Gale (one of the first party members) as he comes out of one. As you explore the map, you’ll find new Waypoints as you approach them: you don’t need to click on them to unlock them. A lot times, you’ll unlock Waypoints without even knowing they’re there, as the game will flash a prompt whenever you find one.

It bears mentioning that you can safetly Fast Travel most of the time . This means that you can escape from dangerous situations, such as robbing a store, by using the Waypoints to escape. Of course, you’re not going to do that, because you’re a hero and not one of Baldur’s Gate 3’s serial killers , but the option is there if you fall to the dark side.

How to fast travel in Baldur’s Gate 3

Jesse Lennox

The continent of Faerun in Baldur's Gate 3 is massive. The landmass and scope of the world are too large to reasonably expect any player to simply run or walk across in a timely manner. Even though the game isn't a proper open world, and instead has various regions you will load between, each one can take quite a long time to navigate from one end of to the other, which can be quite a drag if you're backtracking for missed items or to complete sidequests. Thankfully there is a handy fast travel system you can utilize to zip around the world much faster, once you unlock and learn how to use it, that is. We've rolled a natural 20 while writing this guide to explain the fast travel system in Baldur's Gate 3 .

How to fast travel

Without spoiling anything, once you arrive in the first major explorable area in Baldur's Gate 3 you can find the first Ancient Rune that opens up the fast travel system.

Step 1: Travel North and you will come across a strange portal on a cliff.

Step 2: Approach it to start a cutscene where you are introduced to a potential companion.

Step 3: After deciding how you want to handle meeting this new character, the Ancient Rune will have been unlocked.

Step 4: This acts as a waypoint on your map that you can travel to whenever you wish (outside of combat and dialogue).

Step 5: Simply hit M to open your map and either select the waypoint you want to travel to from the list, or click it on the map to go there.

Step 6: You can only travel to waypoints as you find more Ancient Runes in the world, so keep an eye out for the glowing markings in the environment.

Death comes at you fast in Dragon's Dogma 2. While you have the luxury of being able to restart from your last save after death, and pawns can be revived or summoned again, if an NPC bites the dust, then you need to act fast if you want to bring them back. Just like fast travel, however, reviving the dead will cost you a rare and limited resource. This isn't an item you will happen across during normal travel or find on sale in a shop. If you lost an important ally and need to bring them back to life, we'll show you the way.

It's hard to know if a game has multiple endings, especially one as unique as Dragon's Dogma 2. You can finish the game and not have any clue as to whether or not you're missing anything. And in this case, there's quite a bit more hidden if you're able to unravel a few cryptic hints. If that's too much work for you, we can guide you like a faithful pawn to the solution.

The true ending to Dragon's Dogma 2 is far more satisfying in terms of story, but also adds a surprising amount of gameplay as well. This is something you certainly don't want to miss if you enjoyed the game up to this point, so let's break down what you need to do to get the true ending.

As skilled as your character may be in Rise of the Ronin, there are some challenges you will want to bring in some backup for. After you're thrust into the open world after the tutorial, however, you won't find any clues as to how co-op works here, or if it even exists at all. While co-op certainly does exist in Rise of the Ronin, it isn't accessible right away and may be more limited than you would hope for in a game like this. It's time to draw your katanas as we prepare to cut through all the mystery surrounding how to play co-op. How to play co-op

The first thing that needs to be made clear about co-op in Rise of the Ronin is that it can't be used while exploring the open world. That means you can't bring a friend along to explore, do the various activities on the map, or do any side missions.

Josh Hawkins

Fast traveling can be a great way to get around large game worlds without having to run all the way across the map. While the current version of the game’s Early Access release might only include a small snippet of the title, being able to easily move between locations will be handy for many players. In this guide, we’ll teach you how to fast travel in Baldur’s Gate 3.

How to fast travel

Fast travel in Baldur’s Gate 3 is tied directly to ancient runes that players can come across and activate around the world. These runes are often inscribed on various rocks and cliffs, and you can usually spot them pretty easily. They act as waypoints for the various fast travel locations around the game.

You can get a glimpse of some of the runes that you’ll come across in the image above. As you can see, they are hidden amongst the world pretty well, though they aren’t hard to see at all. All you need to do to activate one is get close to it. You can then click on it to select from an assortment of locations, or simply open the map and choose one of the listed waypoints on the right side of the map screen.

Let's travel the world!

Baldur's Gate 3 fast travel

Published: 01 Aug 2023 1:52 AM +00:00 Updated: 04 Aug 2023 10:40 AM +00:00

Traversing through a world as big as the Forgotten Realms can be a very time-consuming activity. Thankfully, just like other big RPG games, Baldur's Gate 3 has implemented a fast travel functionality that will allow us to streamline our exploring throughout the DnD lands.

Not only will you be able to save time by travelling to specific locations across the map, but you will also be able to do this in a very strategic way, saving you some headaches and some of your companions' lives at the same time. Don't worry, you won’t have to do some overly complicated stuff to do so.

A party discovering an Ancient Rune Circle fast travel point in Baldur's Gate 3.

Fast travel in Baldur’s Gate 3 is an easy but limited mechanic you can use during your travels throughout the Forgotten Realms. Before you can fast-travel, you will have to unlock the Ancient Rune Circles. These act as fast travel points.

Once you find them while exploring the world, approach them and you will permanently unlock them so you can fast travel whenever you want.

  • Read more: Baldur's Gate 3 race tier list

The only thing you need to do is to open up the fast travel option in your mini-map in the top right corner of the screen. Select the Ancient Rune Circle you wish to travel to and you will be ready to go. There is no cost for fast travelling, so go ahead and use this functionality as you please.

You will also be able to fast travel to your camp. There, you can change your party’s composition, interact with your companions, change abilities and spells, and rest. The main advantage of using the fast travel function to go to the camp is that you can directly go back to the exact spot you fast travelled from.

You can still travel to any of the Ancient Rune Circles you have discovered, but being able to return to the exact place you were before travelling to your camp marks a huge tactical and strategic advantage you can use whenever necessary.

And that’s how fast travel works in Baldur's Gate 3! Travel across the land in a matter of seconds and from time to time, escape the clutches of deadly monsters. Be sure to check out how to dual wield in Baldur's Gate 3 and how to pause in Baldur's Gate 3 .

How To Fast Travel In Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur's Gate 3 nails the mechanism of fast travel and shows how it is done.

How to fast travel in Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a massive RPG in terms of its system and world scale. Traveling from one place to another for just one quest step can take a lot of time. Thankfully, Baldur’s Gate 3 has a fast travel system that lets you instantly move to certain areas or checkpoints on the map. Let us help you understand how fast travel works and how you can unlock more locations.

How to fast travel in Baldur’s Gate 3

The fast travel system is unlocked relatively early on in Baldur’s Gate 3 . Once the Nautiloid crashes and you wake up on the beach, keep following the path, and you will come up to a locked door. Right next to it is the first waypoint or fast-travel location. This Ancient Sigil Circle will automatically unlock the option to fast travel here once you approach it.

As you explore the world, you will unlock more fast travel points at Baldur’s Gate 3 . There is one fast travel point in or near almost every major location on the map. You can then fast-travel to any unlocked waypoint straight from your map. The right side of the map will show all the unlocked locations. Click on a location from there or the swirly fast travel icon on the map itself.

You can also fast-travel to camp from the camp menu anytime. This will allow you to switch party members and doesn’t involve wasting resources for a long rest .

Baldur's Gate 3 Fast travel map

Fast travel is free, so you can teleport as frequently as you want.

However, you can’t travel fast in certain situations. If you are engaged in combat or have entered an area like Astral Prism, the fast travel option won’t be available. All the fast travel locations on the right side of the map will turn red, and a major notification in the center of the screen will say, “You can’t fast travel now.”

How to unlock new fast travel locations in BG3

You do not need any material or key to access fast travel. When you see a purple glowing circle (an ancient sigil circle) on any wall, cliff, or rock, this is the waypoint for fast travel. Approach it for the first time, and the waypoint will be unlocked.

As mentioned before, each map region of Faerun has multiple fast-travel locations in BG3. We have listed all the fast-travel points from the three acts below.

Baldur’s Gate 3: Fast Travel Complete Guide

Let’s teleport to places around the map to save time.

Jon Suan

Fast Travel is starting to get more and more common in video games these days. We don’t want to waste time walking around places, especially if we’ve already been there. In Baldur’s Gate 3 , sometimes the game needs you to backtrack, and the fast travel system is there to help you save time. It can be a bit confusing for some people though.

In this guide, we’ll show you how fast traveling works as well as some tips to make fast traveling even better in the game. Now, let’s see what’s so great about fast traveling in the game.

Fast Travel Complete Guide

When you first get to the starting area in the game and run around the place you might stumble into these fast travel points . They’re called Ancient Rune Circles and they’re usually circular symbols on walls or surfaces that you can interact with.

Baldur's Gate 3 Ancient Rune Circle

Interacting with them will bring you to the Fast Travel Screen shown below.

Baldur's Gate 3 Fast Travel Points

In the center of the screen is the map and all the fast travel points you know. To the right is where you actually click the names of the fast travel points to go there . This is an easy way to get around places in the game that you’ve already explored.

Most players assume that you’ll need to interact with these fast travel points in the map to actually use them . That’s not the case , you can actually just pull up your map by pressing the M Key and fast travel from there ! That should save you a lot of time!

That’s how fast traveling works in Baldur’s Gate 3 . Now that you know how that works how about checking out our guide on how trading and bartering works in Baldur’s Gate 3 if you haven’t already!

How to Fast Travel in Baldur’s Gate 3 – Move quickly around the map

Google News

Are you wondering how to fast travel in Baldur’s Gate 3?  We’ll explain how this handy feature works.

Baldur’s Gate 3 features a giant world to explore throughout the different towns and areas featured in the game’s three Acts . Like in many other games, players are able to fast travel to any location already unlocked instead of having to physically travel over the vast world each time. This guide will show players how to use the fast travel mechanic and all of the fast travel waypoints in the game.

Fast Traveling in Baldur’s Gate 3

How to Fast Travel in Baldur’s Gate 3

The fast travel feature in Baldur’s Gate 3 is extremely simple. All players have to do is open their map at any time, and select one of the unlocked fast travel points to instantly travel there. The waypoint names are located on the game world maps and in a list to the right of the map.

What are all Fast Travel Waypoints in Baldur’s Gate 3?

There are many fast travel waypoints in the world, spread over several maps. They can be activated by walking near rocks with purple ancient runes imprinted on them. These spots are marked as Ancient Rune Circles and represent fast travel markers. Fortunately, players do not need any required skills or stat checks to activate them, and just walking past the ancient sigil circle with your allies will mark the spots on your map.

Why Fast Travel doesn’t work sometimes?

There are a few instances in Baldur’s Gate 3 when the Fast Travel option is disabled. This usually happens when you’re in the middle of a fight, in a dungeon that you have to navigate to get out of, or during specific story sections.

Whenever this happens and you open your Map to fast travel, you’ll see a red box under your waypoint list. It tells you that your party is unable to fast travel in this instance. You’ll have to find a way to a more secure location before being able to fast travel again.

That is everything to know about how to fast travel in Baldur’s Gate 3. For more helpful guides on the game, please be sure to check out Can You Play Baldur’s Gate 3 Without Playing Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 , and Baldur’s Gate 3 – Is Mouse and Keyboard the way to play .

Baldur

This map contains the Dread Hollow and the Decrepit Village.

The Dread Hollow is the location of the Sussur Tree, located at the westmost point of the Underdark area. To the east of this is the Decrepit Village, which surrounds the Underdark - Beach waypoint, and contains the boat that can take you to the Grymforge.

East Underdark Map: Selunite Outpost

South Underdark: Arcane Tower

Baldur

This map contains most of the south part of the Underdark, containing the Arcane Tower.

Baldur

This map contains the two boats sailing through the Ebonlake. You can only explore this map once: when you use the boat in the Decrepit Village, and only if you decide to attack the other boat.

Baldur

This map contains The Festering Cove, the tiny underground area underneath the main Underdark area.

Ebonlake Grotto (Myconid Colony)

Baldur

The Ebonlake Grotto is where the Myconid Colony reside. Most of the residents here are Myconid people with minds connected to the current Sovereign. There are also a few non-Myconid people here.

Baldur

The Storehouse contains the area where you'll arrive after accessing the Underdark entrance in the Zhentarim Hideout. There are a lot of lootable chests, crates, and other containers in the area.

Dread Hollow (Sussur Tree)

Baldur

The Dread Hollow contains the Sussur Tree, where you'll find a bunch of Sussur Bloom, and the Sussur Tree Bark. There are a lot of Hooked Horror enemies roaming the area.

  • How to Get a Sussur Tree Bark

Decrepit Village (Beach)

Baldur

The Decrepit Village, located by the Beach waypoint, is an area with a bunch of Duergar bandits led by Gekh Coal.

Selunite Outpost

Baldur

The Selunite Outpost is a ruined structure with an active defense mechanism that will attack any intruders that approach from the front entrance. There is an entrance to the Underdark in this area, accessible in the Defiled Temple in the aboveground.

Safely Enter the Outpost by Destroying the Moonstone

Baldur

Once inside, simply hit the Moonstone with a ranged attack. Then, hit the lever beside the gate so you can open the front entrance for your other party members.

Arcane Tower

Baldur

The Arcane Tower is a tower at the south part of the map, full of powerful Arcane Turrets that will attack you when you approach them. There are a couple of entrances to the tower accessible by going around to the back of the tower.

The Arcane Turrets themselves are weak to electric-based attacks, but you can disable them by disabling their power source located in the lowest floor of the tower. How to Enter the Arcane Tower

Baldur

The Ebonlake is the body of water that connects the main Underdark area to the Grymforge. You'll only be here briefly when you encounter the Duergar boat that will question you.

You can only explore the boats by attacking the Duergar; if you leave this area, you won't be able to explore the boats anymore.

Baldur

The Festering Cove is a tiny swampy area underneath the Underdark, where a small group of Kuo-toa who worship BOOOAL reside. There's a bunch of chests and lots of fish around the area.

Ebonlake Grotto Points of Interest

Myconid colony waypoint.

The Myconid Colony Waypoint sits at the heart of the Ebonlake Grotto area.

People of Interest

Sovereign Spaw

Sovereign Spaw is the initial monarch of the Myconid Colony. It will be talking through the other Myconids, and you'll have to find it at the elevated mushroom at the middle of the area. It'll have a few quests to assign to you.

Sovereign Glut

Sovereign Glut is a Myconid not controlled by Spaw. After first talking to Spaw, go southwest to talk to Glut, who'll offer to be your companion in fighting the druegars.

We recommend not to immediately complete its quest of overthrowing Spaw; avoid talking to it after defeating the druegar. Glut is an extremely useful companion in the Underdark, as it has the ability to resurrect any enemies (even powerful bosses!) as long as you stay in the Underdark, giving you two extra companions for battle.

Thulla is a poisoned gnome located nearby Sovereign Spaw. She is behing hunted by the druegar in the Underdark for stealing the Boots of Speed from their sergeant.

To get the item, you can cure her with an antidote (the Druegar at the beach will have one) and she'll willingly give you the boots. You can also just let her die from the poison or kill her.

Blurg is a hobgoblin who's a member of The Society of Brilliance , and is a friend of the mindflayer Omeluum . He's also a trader who'll have a lot of items to sell, some of them unique to him.

Omeluum is a mindflayer who's also a member of The Society of Brilliance. He'll appear while you're first talking to Blurg, and is interested in removing the tadpole in your head, adding to the Find a Cure main quest.

Derryth Bonecloak

Derryth is a trader situated in the Ebonlake Grotto, and is looking for her missing husband, Baelen Bonecloak . She'll give you the Gloves of Unhibited Kushigo as a reward for finding him. How to Get Gloves of Uninhibited Kushigo

Guardian Gate

The Guardian Gate is a bunch of vines that block off an area near Derryth. You can't destroy these vines; the only way to pass through this gate is to complete the first quest assigned to you by Spaw, Protect the Myconid Circle .

Note that if you chose to kill Spaw by helping Glut, you won't be able to open this gate and access its contents forever. To avoid this, don't progress Glut's quest by talking to him; directly talk to Spaw after defeating the druegar.

Pale Corpse: The Great Furnace of Grymforge

Accessible in the room behind the Guardian Gate, the Pale Corpse contains a few valuables in his possession: most important of which is The Great Furnace of Grymforge . Note that it will first appear in his inventory as the Flumph Mating Rituals , and you'll have to pass the check while reading it to reveal the book's true form.

Reading this book allows you to know how to operate the Adamantine Forge once you find it.

Shadow of Menzaberranzan

Also behind the Guardian Gate, near the Pale Corpse, is the Shadow of Menzaberranzan: a Rare Headgear that gives the useful Shrouded in Shadow ability, which makes the user invisible.

How to Get Shadow of Menzoberranzan

Dread Hollow Points of Interest

Underdark - sussur tree waypoint.

The Sussur Tree Waypoint is located at the northeast part of Dread Hollow, near some Hooked Horrors .

Sussur Tree Bark

The Sussur Tree Bark is a material necessary for the Finish the Masterwork Weapon quest, allowing you to forge a Masterwork weapon in the blacksmith forge in Blighted Village.

  • How to Finish the Masterwork Weapon

Filro the Forgotten

Filro the Forgotten is a boss enemy located in the Dread Hollow, who'll immediately fight you with the Hook Horrors in his vicinity when you approach him.

He is one of the three Drow looking for the Adamantine Forge; after you kill him, you can use a Speak with Dead spell to learn more about the forge.

Bulette is a boss monster at the south part of Dread Hollow, who you'll encounter burrowing around, knocking your party members off-balance. Try not to have your party members grouped up and be ready for the ambush attack when you proceed to its territory.

Tombstone: Dog Collar

At the southeast part of the Dread Hollow, you'll find a Tombstone. Interact with it and dig the grave up to get the Dog Collar amulet. There are no negative effects to doing this act.

While this item has no effect in battle or for exploration, it will have an effect when worn while pressing a button near the dog bed in the Arcane Tower .

Decrepit Village Points of Interest

Underdark - beach waypoint.

The Beach Waypoint is located near the coast of Decrepit Village.

Gekh Coal is the leader of the druegar in the beach. He'll give you the Find the Missing Boots quest as long as you don't attack him when you first encounter him. He'll be immediately hostile if you have Glut in your party.

You'll need to kill him as part of Spaw and Glut's questlines, and it's also useful to kill him for Thulla since he's carrying the antidote to her poison.

Underdark Druegar Boat

The Underdark Druegar Boat is the boat owned by Gekh Coal, and the mode of transportation that allows you to travel to the Grymforge . You can sail with this boat even if Gekh Coal is still alive, but if you come back to the beach, he'll be angry and will be immediately be hostile to you.

When you sail with this boat for the first time, a Druegar boat will question you, and depending on your choices, will either attack you or let you go safely.

  • How to Get to the Grymforge

Selunite Outpost Points of Interest

Underdark - selunite outpost waypoint.

The Selunite Outpost Waypoint is located inside the outpost, by the east part of the building.

The Portcullis is the gate entrance of the outpost. It will initially be locked, and there are two statues that will attack you if you approach through the entrance (you'll initially find a Minotaur who would demonstrate these statues).

To open it, you need to trigger the Lever inside the outpost, just beside the Portcullis.

The Moonstone is the object that you need to destroy to disable the attacking statues at the outpost's front entrance. It is located at the top of the statue inside the outpost, and can be destroyed with any ranged attack.

Rocky Crevice Entrance

One of the entry points in the outpost is the Rocky Crevice, located to the northeast of the gate. You'll need to spot it with a Perception Check, then enter through it with a tiny character such as a Gnome, or be in a Gaseous Form .

You can then destroy the Moonstone from the inside, then flip the lever to allow your other characters to enter.

Gilded Chest: Helmet of Smiting

The Gilded Chest is located by the terrace in the outpost; there will be traps nearby as you approach the chest. Lockpick the chest to open it and get the rare Helmet of Smiting equipment.

How to Get Helmet of Smiting

Arcane Tower Points of Interest

Note that this section only lists the points of interest outside the Arcane Tower. For points of interest inside the tower, check back soon for more info.

Ornate Door

The Ornate Door is the front entrance to the Arcane Tower. It is not recommended to enter through this entrance until you've disabled the Arcane Turrets, since you'll have to deal with these turrets outside and inside the tower.

Locked Door

The Locked Door to the Arcane Tower is located behind the tower. To reach this, you'll have to jump across the mushrooms south of the tower. You'll have to lockpick this door to open it from the outside.

This Hole can be found with a perception check beside the Arcane Tower. To reach this, you'll have to jump across the mushrooms south of the tower.

This passageway is extremely small and can't be entered by small races; the only way to enter here is by having a character in a Gaseous Form enter. In the garden west of the tower, you'll find a Scroll of Gaseous Form that you can use to enter; you can then open the Locked Door from the inside for your other party members.

Festering Cove Points of Interest

BOOOAL is the deity of the Kuo-Toa. To talk to him, talk to Pooldripp the Zealous first. Depending on your choices, you can fight and kill him, join forces with him, or sacrifice one of your party members in his name.

If you kill him, he won't drop have much loot in his person. If you join forces with him, he'll give you the Sickle of BOOOAL . If you sacrifice one of your party members, they'll be permanently dead (you won't be able to revive them in any way), and the remaining party members will receive the BOOOAL's Benediction buff for the rest of the game, which gives an advantage against Bleeding targets. How to Get Sickle of BOOOAL

Pooldripp the Zealous

Pooldripp is the acting leader of the Kuo-Toa, the fish people worshiping BOOOAL. When you talk to him, you'll be able to talk to BOOOAL.

You can kill or pickpocket him for the Sickle of BOOOAL weapon if BOOOAL didn't end up giving it to you.

Underdark Outskirts Points of Interest

This section counts all points of interest that do not fall under the above named locations; the map will simply display Underdark when you are near these.

Spectator and Dhourn

The Spectator can be found to the west of the Selunite Outpost. You won't be able to see it; you just need to walk through the area full of petrified people. It will do a surprise attack against you; there's no way to avoid this.

It will also revive Dhourn and his companions to fight for him, but you can disable this by attacking them once or defeating Spectator. If Dhourn lives, you'll be able to chat with him. Through passing checks or talking to his corpse with a Speak with Dead ability, you'll be able to find the location of the forge.

Cragged Rock: Festering Cove

To the southeast of the Decrepit Village and west of the Selunite Outpost, you'll find this Cragged Rock, which leads to another Underdark area, the Festering Cove .

Heavy Chest: Drow Studded Leather Armour

To the southeast of the Decrepit Village, you'll find this Heavy Chest containing the rare Drow-Studded Leather Armour equipment.

On Educating the Faithful

To the southeast of the Decrepit Village, just near the Heavy Chest, you'll find the On Educating the Faithful book. It will be an Inspirational Event for Gale if you read this book.

Phalar Aluve

To the northeast of the Selunite Outpost, you'll find the Phalar Aluve weapon stuck to the ground. You'll need to pass the Religion or Strength check to pull it out. How to Get Phalar Aluve Weapon

Baelen Bonecloak

Baelen Bonecloak is the husband of Derryth Bonecloak, who is looking for him through the Find the Mushroom Picker quest. You'll find him in the field of explosive mushrooms in the northwest part of the map, north of the Sussur Tree.

To rescue him, you'll need to pass him a Scroll of Misty Step; he has one in his backpack nearby. You can get to it by using Misty Step yourself, using a Fly spell, or other ways as long as you avoid setting off the mushrooms.
