Escape to Canberra’s best wineries

Plan an intimate wine adventure amongst the rolling hills and taste the terroir of one of Australia’s youngest and most innovative wine regions.

By Lana Bogunovich

With its sunny days, cool climate and rich soil, Canberra is a winemaker’s heaven, and with more than 40 wineries within 35 minutes of the city, it’s certainly a wine lover’s too. Fuelled by passion and innovation, established winemakers have been joined by new talent, both of which are making their mark on the national and international wine scene.

Murrumbateman and Lake George wineries

Merry Heart CBR's Canberra winery tours extend to surrounding regions, such as those excellent wineries located around Murrumbateman and Lake George. Popular examples include:

Lake George Winery

Brindabella Hills

Merry Heart Canberra's Private wineries tours

You may have never gone on a winery tour or you may have already visited some of the popular Murrrumbateman wineries and are looking for a niche wine vintage which caters to your taste. Accordingly, a balance between self-exploration and structured itineraries is provided based on previous customers' feedback. Of course, nothing beats your own wine tasting experience with the company of loved ones, so make a winery tour booking where you will learn first-hand from the winemakers about their expertise and wine-making processes. Even if you had visited a particular winery before, you may still be pleasantly surprised with the changes in harvests and vintages now available. Now if you're not really a wine connoisseur, you could still come along to provide the excellent banter and enjoy the scenery of the beautiful vineyards! Also, the custom tour itineraries are continuously revised and adjusted to ensure your experience is unique and caters to your taste in wine. So, upon booking, you will be sent a draft itinerary with suggested wineries, which could be further amended. Then, you will still have complete flexibility, as you are not bound to follow the itinerary. So, if you like a particular winery, you may ask to skip the next ones planned! Finally note that lunches, cheeses and tasting platters are available at some select wineries.

Very prompt responses during business hours.

Sometimes we just know about goings on around town that are worth checking out, so we may change some parts of our tours. Whilst these changes are rare, we do reserve the right to make them. If you do have a MUST-SEE spot, please let us know when making your booking and we’ll do all we can to make it happen.
